Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to episode or twenty six of DCP
plus Side Quests. This week, we got a lot to
talk about night rain, night rains, which I don't think
anybody's playing right now, right like, I.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Don't think specifically right now, no specific at this very moment.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Definitely nobody playing, definitely not No.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Before we get going, wat's I got a question for you. Yes,
what sport has or what's the sport or hobby? Let's
say athletic activity has the most ridiculously dressed participants.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Pickle ball?
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Oh wait, aren't they just stretched like tennis players?
Speaker 5 (00:48):
They're just like pickles coore balls, pickles. One team's team
pickles one team is seam ball. Yeah, pickles versus balls.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Oh your way sounds.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
That's why I don't like it as much as I should.
I've been dressing right. I say it's got to be
cyclists because there's a lot of like rich dudes that
take cycling really seriously around me. So when I hit
the trails and I'm in my gym shorts and they're
in like the full like one body suit skin tight,
and then like the helmet that has the it looks
(01:25):
like a bird beak sticking out the back in thee.
Speaker 6 (01:29):
That's what I was thinking. And you're close. But it's
the power walkers.
Speaker 7 (01:34):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (01:35):
They got aerodynamic like everything.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
What are we doing here? We're going four miles an hour.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
I used to work the opening shift at the mall
when I was a teenager in mall walkers. Oh man,
the mallwalkers that show dressed as soon as you oh yeah,
they would go. They look like they came. They walked
straight out of the seventies.
Speaker 6 (01:53):
To watch the walk sounds like the last of Us enemy.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
They look like the people that are like dancing with
Richard Simmons in like his aerobic videos, remember, Oh yeah exactly.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
I like those.
Speaker 7 (02:07):
Oh yeah, I just got it.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
A TikTok channel that was about people who slow walk
and kind of shaming slow walk because you take out
too much of the foot pop.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Oh yeah, that does try and me crazy. Yeah, more abreast.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
I got a related question to that.
Speaker 8 (02:28):
If you get on an escalator, yeah, and you're gonna
stand there.
Speaker 7 (02:34):
Pure way that you do that.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Rules of the road, the right, slow traffic moves the right.
That's exactly because we drop on the left.
Speaker 7 (02:42):
But yes, correct drop.
Speaker 8 (02:45):
Nobody does that in America, it's awful. It doesn't exist.
Like basically, people just stand wherever you get two people standing.
And I learned at least when I visited Japan in
particular a long time, I was like, holy, so organized,
Like people are speeding up the left side. You better
not get in their way.
Speaker 7 (03:02):
And that was me.
Speaker 8 (03:03):
I'm like, get out, I'm going i gotta move well
and everybody politely on the right side.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Escalators are for losers, Let's be honest.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
There, you have to take the escalator sometimes sometimes.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Well, what I learned I spent the summer in China
and one of the things that I learned quickly is
that they're super apologetic if they run into you and
you make eye contact. But what they will do is
they will not make eye contact and they'll plow right
through you. But if you look at them, I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
This is I'm gonna start handling the grocery store. I'm
just gonna contact.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
It's like walking is a full contact sport there.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yeah, put some pads on. Get like some of those
football pads I used to wear and wrestling in the
nineties with the spikes on them.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yeah, and just watch. It's gonna be so much more fun. Now,
did you ever watch Night Rider?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Of course I've watched the dude og night writer Dave
Haslos so amazing. Remember the truck Goliath and he had
the spikes that stick out the sides of the wheels.
Ye that's me from now on.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, that's Can we put like gladiatorial equipment on our
shopping carts?
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (04:14):
Definitely, I want to look seems like a good sport
right there.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Yea competitive.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Wasn't that like a game show or something? When we
were there was like speed steep sweepstakes.
Speaker 8 (04:29):
I don't know, I don't remember what it was called,
but they'd give you like a task and you had
to be the fastest and or get the most value
of your shopping.
Speaker 6 (04:37):
And stuff like that.
Speaker 8 (04:38):
Yeah, stuff that you used to just fill TV with
anything when it was just like you know, over cable antenna, right,
that would just imagine being back then. Yeah, like pitching shows.
It's like, well, you know, like the big show and
news isn't on, so what do you want to do
in between?
Speaker 6 (04:55):
They're like whatever?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
That's remember when TV? I shouldn't stop at like eleven
o'clock at night, like TV would end, they'd play the
American anthem, and then it would just be over until morning.
Speaker 7 (05:09):
Okay they started the.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Morning with allan Yeah, it was just over.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
It was just over. TV would end and like they'd
show I think they just show like a flag waving
until morning until like.
Speaker 6 (05:24):
Said that, like TV's over.
Speaker 7 (05:28):
This is.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
This is in the days when you had to stand
up and like change the dial on the TV and
it's like yeah, like CBS would just end like after
like Johnny Carson or whatever. It would just be over.
No more might go to bed.
Speaker 8 (05:46):
Imagine if YouTube just did that where it was like
in your time zone.
Speaker 6 (05:49):
I guess it would just be like, sorry, we're offline
right now.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
That'd probably help.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Life might have been better.
Speaker 6 (05:58):
Missed opportunity.
Speaker 8 (05:59):
It was just like a salute to your local country's
flag and like that's it.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Brira. I feel like a movie you should watch is
have you ever seen u HF Oh my god, now yeah,
wash nomenal movie. But that's the preference. It's basically they
get they get a you know, the rights to a
TV station, and they got to find a way to
fill the dead air.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Just gotta fill it.
Speaker 6 (06:22):
And it's it's Pramer.
Speaker 8 (06:24):
Oh my god, Michael Richards, Yeah, oh yeah, he's like
a big star.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
He's the janitor and then they give him a job.
Speaker 8 (06:31):
Because he's like this like prodigy at like hosting show.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
It's just so goofy, Like the oner is like you
found the marble and the oatmeal, you get to dream
from the fires, blast a child in the face of
the fires.
Speaker 8 (06:45):
My favorite part of HF is when they cut they like, yeah,
they're flipping through just episodes I think, and they cut
to the wood working wood shop one or whatever. It's
just like really like backcountry, like just kind of Yokol
type dude, and he like cuts his finger.
Speaker 7 (07:01):
Off, his like my girl off.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
But it's like super It's like spurting blood all over.
Speaker 7 (07:09):
He's like, well, it's so good.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
I can't believe that. I have to watch you at
UHF in twenty twenty five, you have to got again.
Speaker 8 (07:18):
I just remember the game Spatulist City was a show
on there, as well as uh the one where you
like it's a wheel of fish.
Speaker 6 (07:26):
Remember the race.
Speaker 7 (07:31):
Then you're about I have to watch watch.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
You've got to watch this film. Yeah, I feel like
I feel like it would it would match up well
with Australian Uh.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Sounds would like.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
H yeah U JF weird.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
Reason we were not was yeah weird Al was in it.
That was the pull. That guy's timeless.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Is that his only movie? I mean he's probably guessed
in other movies, but it's definitely his only starring role.
Speaker 8 (07:58):
Right, I mean he has the the biopic as well
with Daniel Radcliffe.
Speaker 7 (08:02):
Right.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
I saw that, Miley, He'll be proud of me. I had.
I had an Australian film little festival, just me and
myself last week. I watched Castle and.
Speaker 7 (08:15):
Straight to the Poor Room.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
That's pretty good. I enjoyed. I haven't seen those fair
that's a banna. Who was the Hulk? Like the O
G Hulk?
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Right?
Speaker 7 (08:25):
Oh yeah, why out you been a crocodile down Dale walk.
Speaker 8 (08:32):
Back to back.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
I've never heard of old castle Castle.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
A guy holding onto his house, his castle and uh,
developers I think trying to take it over.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Yeah, they're trying to expand the the like.
Speaker 7 (08:49):
No, it's about a due in his house.
Speaker 8 (08:53):
It's just like a lot of move Wikipedia describes it
as a social study on the lives and aspirations of
the inhabitants.
Speaker 6 (08:59):
So suburban Australia.
Speaker 7 (09:03):
Well, he's a documentary.
Speaker 8 (09:06):
It's very really hit him to the late nineties suburban Australia.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Remember we found out that they were making a movie
about the EMU War. Did that ever come out?
Speaker 7 (09:19):
I mean I forgot that.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Maybe we spoke about this, so I haven't been following
the Great Amy World documentary.
Speaker 7 (09:25):
But my knowledge not to my knowledge?
Speaker 1 (09:30):
All right, well, I keep my eyes open. So how's
the night rain? Guys?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
It's it's okay, it's okay, interesting, it's okay.
Speaker 7 (09:44):
He's not bad.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
You guys playing or what's.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
A YouTube video? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (09:50):
No, this is we just we're trying to die, but
we just somehow we're.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Just too good. We're just too good, you know.
Speaker 7 (09:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
It is very frantic and there's a lot of information
to take on board. And I think most of the
time when your first two, three, four, five games, I'm
gonna be like, I don't know what's going on. And
then he starts to kick in. But what's that?
Speaker 8 (10:19):
I did the play test that was by I was like, Uh,
you're just running and it's chaos and I don't know
what to do.
Speaker 6 (10:25):
Just keep running, just.
Speaker 7 (10:27):
Keep using and I'm sure it will start working. Out right.
Speaker 8 (10:33):
I did check that at least they have the tutorial,
you know, which was not part of the playtest, so that.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
Is at least honestly, it is the most extensive tutorial
I think from Soft has ever done.
Speaker 7 (10:44):
Which is very them too much.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Yeah, don't worry. Mylon is trying. He's trying to make
sure we die.
Speaker 8 (10:54):
Yeah he's yeah, well, maybe describe that actually, like how
long is a run generally?
Speaker 6 (10:59):
And like why are you trapped in the game right now?
Speaker 9 (11:03):
I'll give you the Milin is still like, what's the
what's the We were trying to So the reason why
we're still in the game now is we were trying
to end because at the end of a run, you
get to keep stuff that you keep forever, so they're
called relic smile and can show you what those are.
But you get things that you can slot into your
(11:26):
characters kind of load out before you go on another run,
and so you get to keep these forever, whereas if
you just leave the run.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
You don't get any like metaprogression. So we wanted to uh,
we wanted to get our met.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
But so I'll give I'll give everyone a loadown of what.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Night Rain is. Talk about what it is.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
So the elder Ring Night Rain, so obviously it's in
the elder Ring universe, but it is a completely different game.
It's not a DLC or anything like that. It's its
own standalone thing, and you think of it like a
rogue like but in the Elden Ring sandbox. So the
way that you that a game kind of goes is
(12:10):
you get three people, whether that's pre made or matchmaking.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
There's there's matchmaking.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
You get three people, you go out on an expedition,
you spend all day one day two collecting loot and
leveling up and all that good stuff, until eventually you
fight the big big boss at the end of the night,
and that's how you get like your big rewards and
you progress to be able to fight more and more
(12:35):
different super hard bosses.
Speaker 7 (12:38):
Is there a.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Timer that shows you when the night's coming or is
it just a feeling of the ring closing.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
It's the ring closing, Yeah, so there'll be something that
pops up on the screen that says the night draws
near or whatever, and the music will.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
Go boom, and then that's when the circle will start closing.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
So they do have like a battle roale kind of
circle to try and move you to go fast because
like elden Ring Base, elden Ring is all about like
take your time, be super like care go.
Speaker 6 (13:10):
Through any door and look on both sides before you enter, or.
Speaker 10 (13:13):
You will die of This game is go go go
kill the things, kill the things, get the loot, go
go go fast because you want to get as high
level as you can by killing things and spending runes,
and you want to try and a mass as many
items as you can before that circle goes all the
way in because every time it does that, So you
spend all day looting and leveling up.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
And then when it comes to the night, some kind
of boss will spawn.
Speaker 5 (13:38):
It could be three tree sentinels, it could be Morgot,
it could be decent toped demon, it.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Could be a bunch of different bosses.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
And then once you kill that, the circle will go
back out, goes back to daytime, and then you do
that cycle again for another day.
Speaker 8 (13:55):
And that's what I was gonna ask, is are do
all the runs a certain next waytation of time before
you get to like that last boss, Like you know
that how long does the run take? Is it always?
Like if you're successful, it's two. Is that what you're saying.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
It's like two days, hey, yeah, day one, day two, yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
And then then a night which could be average five
minutes for a full run.
Speaker 6 (14:16):
Yeah, if you make it through the boss you're.
Speaker 7 (14:17):
Saying, yeah, if you don't even get wopped.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Ye. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (14:20):
So it's not a quick run, That's what I'm saying.
I'm not not saying that's good or bad. You can't
just quickly hop in right.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Well, we started that match to ten two I think
ten to ten to non. It's now non thirty forty,
it's forty minutes.
Speaker 8 (14:36):
But you have to keep playing with your team until
you potentially finish the whole thing.
Speaker 7 (14:40):
You don't have to until you get.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
You get your rewards from day one if you just
bounce out like.
Speaker 7 (14:46):
You know, no, no, no.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
So what we were saying Fran at the beginning was
the reason why, like because you asked why we were
like stuck in there, The reason that we were staying
in there is because at the end of an expedition,
which is what these runs are called, whether you fail
or whether you succeed, you are gaining relics. That is
your metaprogression, that is your rogue light progression in the
game where you get to keep stuff and make your
(15:08):
character a little bit more powerful for your next run.
Speaker 8 (15:12):
Are levels you carry any levels out I can't remember,
so the levels are each run, each run, but the
relics are the perman.
Speaker 6 (15:22):
That's what I'm asking.
Speaker 8 (15:23):
What would you take out if you just like say, oh,
I hopped in and it's like, oh crap, I got
I forgot I got a dentist appointment and you you
leave after nothing.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Because like it's it's kind of messed up if you
jump in and then leave your team and then get rewards.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
I think that might be really bad game decide.
Speaker 8 (15:38):
No, I mean I am making a point obviously, which
is it is?
Speaker 6 (15:42):
It could be that though, if you randomly make it
could be.
Speaker 7 (15:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you want to have Domina Finil.
Speaker 6 (15:51):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
There's also lever penalties. Yeah, they don't.
Speaker 5 (15:54):
They don't want you jumping in, leave and then leaving
your team high and dry.
Speaker 7 (15:59):
How do they penalize you for that?
Speaker 4 (16:01):
I don't know yet.
Speaker 7 (16:03):
Send the send a gul to your house, probably some kind.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
Of matchmaking thing like you can't match make for X
amount of time or something.
Speaker 8 (16:10):
They send that lady who wants to like smell your
fingers and touch your fingers.
Speaker 6 (16:14):
Over your head.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Analysis with they.
Speaker 7 (16:19):
Send send a finger in the nile.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
As a finger from your house. What are What do
the relics do? Like? What what do you get out
of it?
Speaker 7 (16:32):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (16:32):
Some of them can be super game changing, where every
time you use your flask, it uses it, it heals
your teammates as well. Others are smaller where it gives
you like mind plus two or like Dex plus two
or whatever. Some of them will be the every like
the first armament that you pick up or the first
one that you go into the game with will have
(16:55):
holy or fire or magic or something. Yeah, or you
can spawn in with like a guaranteed item that you
can use and stuff like that. So yeah, they're they're
pretty pretty impactful, but not to the point where it's
like if you don't have a good one, you won't
be able to succeed. Like, the thing that is the
most important in night Rain is leveling up. Getting your
(17:16):
level is just the biggest thing.
Speaker 6 (17:19):
Yeah, no, you probably haven't played enough on that front yet.
Speaker 8 (17:21):
But do you find that it Yeah, I'm just wondering
it's going to lead to like this this sort of
forced way of playing like no, no, no, we can't
look there. We got to level up, you know, because
that's what it sounds like, almost because you're gonna want to. Well,
I think that's possible.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
And you become like familiar with the map and where
to go. You I think you're just slowly building knowledge
because you do you have to do everything fast and
so like in the beginning, I feel like we're looking
at stuff and getting knowledge, but it's going to kind
of sting us later for being slow. Then hopefully when
you play a bit more, you'll be like, yep, we've
got to go to this church.
Speaker 7 (17:57):
Then we've gotta go here, and you start forming like a.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Game plan of which s plaices you should hit up
as you progress.
Speaker 7 (18:03):
Effective.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
Yeah, I don't think you'd want to like go into
the map and immediately level one, go to a cast
on and fight like a boss there because you're going
to take so long to kill it and everything they
do is going to one shot you. So it makes
sense to kind of hit some camps, some stuff, level
up a little bit, and then do that.
Speaker 7 (18:22):
It's complet like exploration. It's like ignore everything, you know, the.
Speaker 5 (18:30):
Guy camp next, you know, we weren't actually we weren't
actually being too crazy.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
We were we were chilling.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
I was, I was, you'll be frank out friend.
Speaker 8 (18:40):
I thankfully I already hopped into uh so I could
because yeah, when I did the play test, and you know,
a lot of what I was asking was leading because
I played the play test, like, yeah, I followed it,
but I do.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (18:53):
It feels so chaotic to hop into these and they're
such long matches. You're really in for.
Speaker 6 (18:58):
It, I think.
Speaker 8 (18:59):
But I think that is the best advice of like, hey,
just yeah, like try to take it so and you
don't have to be next to your team in theory, right,
you could focus on your own leveling up.
Speaker 6 (19:08):
I think it makes sense to stay together though, right.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
Say that makes sense because if she takes down a boss,
there's loop that drops and.
Speaker 6 (19:16):
You get and you get the XP from that. They're
kills to right.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
If you are fire apart though, and like say, we
clear like small camps by ourselves.
Speaker 6 (19:27):
Does he share the you did the play test?
Speaker 4 (19:31):
I think so.
Speaker 8 (19:32):
In the play test, I am most certain I was
tracking it you did, which I was like, yeah, you.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Guys a game right now, test it look at But
I do believe that's it.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
So yeah, maybe maybe that's helpful.
Speaker 8 (19:50):
But then as well, what I was wondering, it looks like,
are there eight characters out the gate?
Speaker 4 (19:58):
There is not out the gate? So there's actually.
Speaker 6 (20:02):
The two right now because I thought the DLC after
the eighth.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
I got the two.
Speaker 7 (20:07):
Oh yeah, you got for them already.
Speaker 6 (20:11):
How do you unlock the additional in the current.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
So the ones that you don't have are Duchess and Revenant.
Duchess was actually in the play test, but Revenant we
didn't know anything about until a band I introduced her
with Evanescence Wake Me Up into Trailing.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
It was. It was really great.
Speaker 5 (20:30):
If anyone hasn't watched it, I do recommend watching it.
So many people were like, well, I guess I'm buying
the game because it's just it's very like if you
were on the internet back then. It's very two thousand's
a MV like video game edit of a music video.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
It's like, it's very that.
Speaker 5 (20:48):
So but yeah, so the way that you unlock Duchess
is at the end of an expedition, randomly you'll get
a pocket watch to drop, and then there's this kind
of oaked character in the round table hold, you give
her the pocket watch and that unlocks her with a
very cool cutscene. After you unlock her, you're able to
(21:10):
go to the low jar guy, so he looks just
like like the jar guys that you know from Elden Ring,
And you can buy another item, and that item puts
a little highlight in the round table hold of a
character that you can go over to and talk to.
When you talk to them, it puts you into a
solo arena fighting the revenant character and all of her summons,
(21:34):
and then if you are able to defeat her summons
and her you get to unlock the character, and then
you got all eight god.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
And then I haven't played this game. I haven't watched
any of it. Can you guys explain just kind of briefly,
like what is like the progression of this game? Like
I understand that we're going to go in, We're gonna
get you know, it's like got the ring that gets smaller,
we fight a boss, we make it or we don't,
and we get some loot. What why am I doing
(22:04):
this over and over?
Speaker 8 (22:05):
Like?
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Is there progression? Like is there story? Like what's going
on here?
Speaker 4 (22:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (22:09):
So there there is story each of there's an overall story,
and then each of the individual characters also have their
own stories, so if you want to see all of
their stories, you're going to be playing all of the characters.
And some of those stories actually take you into an
expedition to do a specific thing or you have to
do like a boss fight or something like that, so
you have you have that in terms of story. In
(22:31):
terms of progression, you only can fight one boss at
the beginning, like one one night Lord is what they're called,
the thing that you fight at the end of all
of this, So as you as you defeat each night Lord,
you're going to be progressing to be able to unlock
the next night.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
Lord to fight.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
The other things that you're doing is you're unlocking remembrances
for the characters, which are kind of those lower moments.
But when you do those story moments, they'll give you
some of the best relics for those characters that will
be specific to those characters and really change how you
can play them. They'll change their abilities or what they do,
so that's another thing that you're progressing towards, and then
(23:12):
unlocking the relics that you can take to every single
match is another thing that you're progressing and the builds.
Speaker 8 (23:20):
I think the one thing that you touched on that
is kind of truer to elder Ring, which is it's
just like that knowledge of when you have like a
favorite weapon with like a weapon skill and you know,
meaning there's going to be a lot of stuff falling
at your feet. I assume that that is also some
of the skill where you're like, oh, yeah, I just
want to use this with this, where at first you're like, I.
Speaker 6 (23:41):
Don't know what I want to use.
Speaker 8 (23:44):
Yeah, is that, in other words, you become more powerful
by knowing what to put together in these builds that
you can just sort of because you're getting drops, right,
like the rarity of drops while you're playing, But that
doesn't change doun how many night Lords you beat or anything.
I guess it's just literally get a weapon.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
It's kind of a hard game to explain because it's randomized,
and it's also not right like there's there's gonna be
some events that happened that there could be a giant
volcano in the middle of the map, and if you
go into that volcano and you kill a boss, you
can get a legendary weapon and upgrade it to like
the highest rarity of weapon. Sometimes that's not there, sometimes
it's another event. But some of the stuff is isn't
(24:31):
randomly generated, so like castles will be in the same place,
but the enemies that are in there and the bosses
that are in there will be different. So I guess
that's maybe the easiest way to explain randomized versus not randomized.
But yeah, you're progressing through the game to be able
to fight all of the different night lords, to fight
(24:52):
them all.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Once we defeat this first night lord, is there like
a timer before no one comes along?
Speaker 4 (24:57):
Or is it you go on another expedition?
Speaker 7 (25:00):
You just just comes.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Up for expeditions.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
You're choosing the night lord that you want to fight
at the end of your two day cycle, so we
can only choose one at the moment we kill him,
and then we can go back to the round table
hold select the other.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
Night lord, and then it starts another expedition.
Speaker 8 (25:18):
Yeah, that's what I was wondering. Once you like beat
the first one, like what happens.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Yeah, you kind of select your target at the beginning,
but then I didn't know once you defeat that, if
just another option opens up to selected second target.
Speaker 7 (25:31):
And then okay, and they're all available straight away.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
What do you mean straight away?
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Like, if there's dale, you don't have to.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Wait to wait get the second night, says ruined you.
Speaker 8 (25:47):
No.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
Also, the skins in the game through gameplay, Yes.
Speaker 8 (25:54):
I don't even know what about or yeah that sounds
battle pass is there.
Speaker 6 (25:59):
There's no battle pass, just transactions.
Speaker 8 (26:03):
And the game is there now that I like, wait,
how do you earn skins?
Speaker 6 (26:08):
Any idea of like how many?
Speaker 5 (26:10):
So when you do expeditions, you gain a currency that
you can use to unlock more outfits at the jar guy.
Speaker 6 (26:19):
Oh that's what it was. Yeah, okay cool.
Speaker 8 (26:21):
And then the DLC content I don't think we know
the details of yet, but you can buy it as
part of the Deluxe Edition.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
Part of the Deluxe Edition.
Speaker 6 (26:30):
Yes, and night Fares.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
Yeah, new night Fares, New night Lords. And just for context,
the game itself is thirty nine to ninety nine. The
Deluxe Edition it's fifty four ninety nine. So even if
you buy everything for the DLC at the full game
and all of that, you're still playing like less than.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
A full price game. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (26:51):
I don't think you can buy the DLC yet separately.
My guess is it's problem.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
You can it's fifteen bucks.
Speaker 6 (26:56):
Oh okay, it's fifteen bucks. Ye oh see you can.
Speaker 8 (27:00):
Wait, you can buy the DLC. And they did not
provide the details other than there will.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Be more.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
What's in it? I don't know, change things.
Speaker 5 (27:11):
I can ex well, so the Deluxe Content does come
with the digital art book and mini soundtrack as part
of the Deluxe Edition, and then it also comes with
the additional DLC that's coming Q four twenty twenty five.
Speaker 6 (27:26):
Well, but see, but you can't buy the DLC yet then,
in terms of separately, is what.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
I was saying, Well, yeah you can.
Speaker 8 (27:34):
It's fifteen No, you have that's I mean, I get it.
I think it's semantics. But you can't buy the Deluxe Edition.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
Yeah, you're upgrading to so you can buy the base
base game, and then there's an upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.
That Deluxe Edition has all of the art book and
the soundtracks and all of that, but that is also
your access to the additional DLC coming up.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
I know.
Speaker 7 (27:53):
Yeah, that's what I what I bought.
Speaker 8 (27:55):
I mean, in other words, I was expecting at some
point they'd be like, oh and now you can.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
Buy the DLCs.
Speaker 8 (28:00):
Later, but maybe you're just saying you think they'll just
make you buy an upgraded Deluxe pack.
Speaker 6 (28:04):
But I guess it doesn't matter. It's fifteen bucks.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
So I feel like fifteen bucks for DLC content is probably.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
Where it would land anyway. Plus you get an art
book and a soundtrack.
Speaker 6 (28:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
But yeah, if you're wondering why would I want to
play this game, it's you're experiencing elden Ring Sandbox. So
all of that magic, all of those weapons, all of
those bosses, all of those enemies in a rogue light
experience where you are building out your character each run
within the elden Ring Sandbox, which there's a ton there
(28:42):
and it's really fun, and you're not just picking like, oh,
I got my one weapon, I'm good, I don't need
to look at anything else, because the way that it
works in the game is that you can pick up
weapons that you're not actually using in your hand that
will give you passive bonuses, like when you kill an
enemy it will heal you, or more Saminar region or
(29:02):
some other stuff like that. So you're still wanting to
look at different things, and all of those things come
together to create a build. So I had a really
good thing going when I was using the Archer Guy
because I found a bunch of things that had improved
range damage on it. So I was like, man, my
damage is like so much better. Sometimes you're gonna get
(29:23):
good orang sometimes you're gonna not. But that's kind of
the fun with Rogue Lights is being like, Okay, well
can I put together with the little.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
Things that I've been given?
Speaker 5 (29:33):
And he played with friends and it's I gotta say,
we got like what over a little bit over three
hours of gameplay, and I just want to keep playing.
It's it's really fun. The chaos that ensues from.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Oh my god, there's this bosso god, I got lunch shot.
Oh we gotta go over here, you gotta go fast.
It's uh it's pretty crazy.
Speaker 8 (29:51):
See that's the one that I don't that's funny. That's
the voice I used to describe this game. Too chaotic, we.
Speaker 6 (29:57):
Gotta go to the Uh. So that's the one thing
I'm like concerned about.
Speaker 8 (30:01):
And we'll see when I play it how I feel again,
But I will say with what you're just described, and
that's one of the things I think is cool about
it to look at positively is like an elder Ring,
it's a grind to like get everything, try things like
respect to try. In this you get to play with
the world of elden Ring, and I think that's the
biggest positive is like, oh dude, I never built this
(30:24):
type of character, and like now I'm just going in
having fun trying like everything, so I'm interesting.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
And the other cool thing on that note, Fran is
even if even if you're like a character that scales
with decks, you can still use an intellect weapon.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
You can still use any magic you want.
Speaker 5 (30:40):
It might not do as much damage as the character
that scales with that, but there's nothing that stops you
from picking up anything.
Speaker 6 (30:47):
Do you know, do you know the weapon skill always works?
Speaker 4 (30:50):
The weapons skill always works.
Speaker 8 (30:51):
Oh so, oh that's cool, so you don't have to
worry they out Like an elder Ring, it's like, oh
you can use the weapons, okay.
Speaker 6 (30:57):
In this case, you get to experience it's just not
like and it just.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
Won't do as much damage. Yeah, just won't do as
much damage.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
But yeah, I do really like that you can go
in there and mess around with a bunch of things
and kind of see what you like, and there's no
real downside to it because you can just drop it
and be like, Okay, let me put my other sord
on that scales better. But you can just pick it
up and try it, right, You can go into some
trash mobs and try and see what you think, and
then how.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Much do you get to like determine your own build
as opposed to you you're just roll in with whatever
you pick up and trying to kind of create a
build on a fly.
Speaker 5 (31:32):
I think a lot of that will come from relics,
So there's gonna be so actually when you're selecting some
of the night lords that you go and fight, at
the end of this the whole loop, you can see
what they're weak to, so it will show that they're
weak to Holy damage, and you could go, Okay, I
have a relic that guarantees that I get a Holy
(31:54):
damaged weapon when I go in.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
So that's probably like.
Speaker 5 (31:57):
The biggest determin menistic thing that you can do for
your own build is getting relics that guarantee that you
start with.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
A specific thing.
Speaker 5 (32:06):
And then the other thing that you can do to
make sure that you're getting let's say you are building
a holy damaged build is when you bring up the map.
The key locations will have an icon next to it.
It'll be blood or poison or magic or holy, and
it means that that area is going to drop that
damaged type of weapon.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
So you can also just look at the map and go, Okay,
we want to go here.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
We all want fire weapons because this boss is weak
to fire.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Let's go to the fireplace.
Speaker 6 (32:36):
Nice.
Speaker 7 (32:38):
It's really fun.
Speaker 5 (32:39):
There's a lot to learn, which is really good because
it's going to mean that the life of the game
is much longer because you've got all of the characters
to learn and the loot to learn, and the routes
to learn, and the bosses to learn.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
And we haven't even seen the bosses that have.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
Like MMO type mechanics in them, So yeah for.
Speaker 8 (33:00):
That, and and again you can have multiple of the
same type of characters around you can yeah.
Speaker 6 (33:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (33:05):
So that's where I'm curious if there is some like
balancing loophole and they are passioning the game already, we'll
sort of see how fast. But I wonder if it's
going to turn into like buy this weekend, it's like, oh,
just play this, find this stuff, or will it have
a ton of diversity in terms of power.
Speaker 7 (33:21):
I'm hoping like everything's broken, that's my hope.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
It's just like people find crazy crazy combos is like yo,
this combos in sign watch this and just you know,
super tank. You just tank all the things for your
teammates and then someone comes and stabs it.
Speaker 8 (33:37):
Yeah, I mind that way less as tho as there's
a diversity, is what I'm saying. But I feel like
everybody's just casting magic by the weekend and like, don't
play the other ones.
Speaker 6 (33:45):
You're like, well, that's not fun. But I mean that's
where their work is.
Speaker 8 (33:47):
Cut out for them, and obviously I think they're well prepared.
I have an update on my question that I found
by the way, so my spider sense was going off.
I was like, on the DLC, it's like included, which
is what I bought, and then I just was reading it.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
So they say that the DLC will be.
Speaker 8 (34:01):
Available by Q four of twenty twenty five, so by
the end of the year.
Speaker 6 (34:06):
That is on the store pages here.
Speaker 8 (34:08):
But then they say the Deluxe Upgrade Pack will only
be available to purchase until the release of additional DLC,
so they are taking it offline. So I wonder if
it could be twenty bucks, who's the same. I mean,
it doesn't really matter. It's maybe splitting hairs, so to speak,
but just be aware if you want it, you might
want to pick it up now, and it means we're
(34:29):
going to get more content in the next six months.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
So yeah, I'm I'm really enjoying the game. I think.
Speaker 5 (34:36):
I mean, so many of these games it's like it's
so good with friends, but like the way that you
can work together with your friends in this game, Like
obviously so many co op games are always better with friends,
but the things that you can do with each class
kind of working together, I think really makes co op
(34:56):
feel if just makes it feel even more fun than
like another game. You know, it's good because it's with
your friends. There's a lot of working together. And I've
saw people when we were streaming it, people in chat
were saying, I've just been matchmaking and I'm having a blast.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
So yeah, I've I think it's really fun.
Speaker 5 (35:13):
There's a lot of learning for all of the characters,
just just the characters, and you've got eight of.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Them at the moment.
Speaker 5 (35:18):
You're gonna get more later and they all play so differently,
and then you're gonna get relics that make those characters
play differently to how they were playing before.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
So I think there's for four forty fifth bucks how much?
Speaker 1 (35:31):
How much?
Speaker 4 (35:31):
Did I say this is forty bucks?
Speaker 6 (35:32):
Forty bucks for forty bucks.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
I think there's easily you could easily get your money's
worth from the game.
Speaker 6 (35:38):
I think any networking issues, I didn't hear that.
Speaker 4 (35:42):
I didn't have any.
Speaker 5 (35:44):
Tefty said he was having some like kind of framness
going on, but I was playing.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
I've played with Tifty and.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
Dimitri who Dmitri's in Canada, Tifty's in California. And then
I played with Mylin and Tifty and Milin and Demetrian.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
It was totally fine for me.
Speaker 6 (36:03):
That's great to hear.
Speaker 7 (36:04):
Yeah, noted, I didn't notice any crazy latency.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Maybe a little bit, but nothing like you know, I'm
halfway running away and getting.
Speaker 8 (36:15):
I mean, it's good because like it's not that type
of game thankfully, of like precision shooting, you know in.
Speaker 5 (36:21):
The mid if you're playing mister Seccaro himself, you might
want to be precise with your parents Paris.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
Are you guys all playing on PC?
Speaker 4 (36:33):
Yes, Yeah, there's no cross play, so.
Speaker 5 (36:37):
Progression right, no cross play because it's from Soft that
they do cross play or anything. Honestly, the fact that
there's a server that connects is damn marror God.
Speaker 8 (36:50):
I hate it's obviously it's it's hard, right, I mean,
they made like billion and a half hours, so to speak.
I'm sure after margins and what it's different, but like,
let's just say they made a billion dollars on eldering
and then whatever this costs to developed, like, and it
can't be a decision of like, well let's just not
have cross safe nor cross play. It's like it goes
to show. Yeah, this is a continuing issue, which is
(37:11):
why I'm going to continue to harp on it because
it's not high on the priority list. But I'll take
the win that there's no battle passing this. We're making
a little bit of progress.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
At the time.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
Yeah, It's it's one of those things right where it's
like cross making a co op game with no cross
play feels a little insane and that should have been
absolutely there.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
But yeah, on the other end, I'm like, it's.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
A forty dollars game where I all of the game
and all.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
Of the stuff is in the game.
Speaker 5 (37:39):
I don't have to like, yeah, buy a battle pass
or buy a skin, or buy extra relic space or whatever.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
It's all there for forty dollars and I do like that.
Speaker 8 (37:49):
But it is insane, is the right word of like
a game that will thrive on whether or not you
can match make eventually, because it can't be predicated on
the idea that you'll just play it with your friends,
like across you know, let's say, want to sell five.
Speaker 6 (38:00):
Million copies of this or whatever it has to be.
Speaker 8 (38:03):
They're like, no, we can keep the population up across
each platform.
Speaker 6 (38:06):
Like it's it's insane.
Speaker 8 (38:08):
So I don't know if they ruled out whether or
not that's something they can they can add in the future,
because imagine if that was the dlc.
Speaker 4 (38:14):
Oh my message, it would be amazing.
Speaker 8 (38:16):
That would be It's funny how that would become like
a win, you know, that would be amazing.
Speaker 6 (38:21):
Won everybody over with the DLC.
Speaker 5 (38:24):
M fun though so far obviously only three hours, so
we're gonna play more tomorrow. Tfty and Mylin and me
are playing tomorrow at four pm Pacific, and I'm gonna
play at twelve I'm gonna play from twelve pm Pacific.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
Just do some do some games.
Speaker 8 (38:42):
Nice I'll be playing tonight. I can't wait to dive in.
Literally you dive in and got a might have.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
To get together to play friend maybe.
Speaker 6 (38:50):
Where we drop it.
Speaker 4 (38:54):
If friend will play with us?
Speaker 6 (38:56):
Oh, I would love to.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
Oh, we would love to blame.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
So I missed the last week's podcast. I'm sure you
guys talked about the marathon.
Speaker 4 (39:05):
I was drunk.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
Sorry I missed.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
It was their partnerversary and I was drinking.
Speaker 6 (39:12):
Soake all day.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
Yeah, we camping this weekend. I brought saki. It was
a big hit.
Speaker 6 (39:22):
Yeah camp I don't give a broad alcohol. That's not
a big hit.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
But it was cold, rare, and.
Speaker 6 (39:32):
We talked about this.
Speaker 8 (39:34):
You could have both of Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
What are your thoughts on marathon?
Speaker 1 (39:41):
I wanted to ask you how far you got? Like
how far did the news get by the podcast time?
And I know that they had had the live stream
right and then yeah.
Speaker 6 (39:52):
The art leak and uh, you know.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
World's most.
Speaker 8 (39:58):
Yeah, all through that, But I don't believe we talked
about actually, my friend Colin Moriarty, that's this the whole
rage bait discussion that happened where people do not know
how to report well being. Okay, they don't people are
reporting headlines and news in a way that is suddenly
goes away and then all of a sudden, everybody's saying
Marathon's canceled, the marketing plans are canceled, and that's not
(40:20):
what happened. But anyway, so we didn't talk about those elements,
but everything what happened. But yeah, I don't know where
you want to start, Briar, but we all the way
through the Art Theft and that people are like, we
don't know if it's going to make it out this year,
so as far as we.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Made it, you guys, that was your opinions that you
guys are thinking it's gonna get to delay.
Speaker 7 (40:43):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (40:44):
I'm trying to remember what I left.
Speaker 11 (40:46):
What I left at was despite the technical issues with
the stream and obviously the art Theft conversation, I did
like how they were talking about improving the game, and
I thought that all those discussions were good.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
But it's kind of close to the deadline to be
having all these discussions, So I left it on they're
on the right track. I think they've got a lot
of vital information from the alpha, but it looks like
there's a shit ton on the plight of the do list.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
That for again that has negative hype right like this
game now as like anti hype from you who are
like kind of really good at building hype for stuff,
like to see them stumble over the on the hype
train aspect of it just seems really odd.
Speaker 6 (41:35):
Yeah, I was gonna say you and TV weren't on
last week, right, No?
Speaker 8 (41:38):
No, Yeah, I love to hear from you guys, like,
whow are you that? What do you think about all this?
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (41:42):
My just my biggest concern is that is that after
that live stream, it was a whole lot of like
major issues that they learned from the alpha that people
are concerned about, and their response was we're looking at that.
That's something we're thinking about. Yeah, we're trying to find
solutions to that. There was no great here is our
plan for this issue. Here's what's happening with this one.
That it just felt like there was no like immediately
(42:06):
like how do you fix all that stuff before this
potential launch day if you don't have a plan right
now in place that people are running with, Like I
don't know.
Speaker 8 (42:15):
That, but I think the art stuff derailed that ability
as well, Like they had plans and then it's all
is up in the air that they I think they
had to be very careful about everything they were saying,
and it just and for some reason they had that
live stream.
Speaker 6 (42:26):
I just still can't believe. How do you not it's insane?
Speaker 1 (42:31):
That was I mean, it was hard to watch, you know,
It's like, yeah, oh, this is just brutal to watch it.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
Yeah. So my yeah, my Bill end Alls is just
that I'm personally, like I said, I'm not really into
extraction shooters that much. I've played plenty of them, given
them a fair shake. I'm just not sure that it's
my thing. So if if the Alpha wasn't hype enough
to win me over to to being open to, you know,
(42:59):
consider stantly playing an extraction shooter, then I probably won't
play it. But I mean, I'm still hopeful for the game. Obviously,
there's a lot of really tons of people who are
working on it, people that weren't involved in art theft,
who are just trying to make a good video game,
and I certainly feel for them. So I never cheer
for a game to fail. But on the other hand,
I can't. I can't say it looks like it's going
(43:22):
to succeed yet either.
Speaker 8 (43:23):
Yeah, they're giving you nothing to cheer for it to win,
you know, yeah, yeah, that's right.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
I mean, especially if they're not going to advertise it.
Speaker 8 (43:32):
Well no, I mean, so get let's be talking clear that. Okay, Yeah,
a couple of things. Let me at least say last week,
another major topic was I had said, I think the
conversation has shifted so much in gaming in general, but
certainly from marathon, as will the game be successful?
Speaker 6 (43:46):
Is Bungee going to be successful?
Speaker 8 (43:47):
First, it's just like we've moved so far past like
what did people think of the game?
Speaker 6 (43:51):
So I think there's something to be.
Speaker 8 (43:52):
Said about that, but putting that aside, and the newest
thing was that it's like Colin.
Speaker 6 (43:57):
Moriarty Sacred Symbols.
Speaker 8 (43:59):
Is one of the podcasts and main things they running
on there. I want to pull the exact quote, but
effectively he says, hey, I know someone in a market
a key marketing territory where the marathon stuff got pulled,
so effectively saying I have one source. I believe that
I know of someone in a territory somewhere of where
(44:20):
the marketing is getting pulled, and like there was nothing
more detailed than that, which suddenly spun into Marathon's marketing
has been canceled, which is.
Speaker 1 (44:31):
Not what happens.
Speaker 8 (44:35):
I don't know how Paul addressed it, but then what
this turned into I believe, And again I don't want
to point fingers because I am out of touch on
the exacts. You've got scaow you know, Scara involved was
trying to tell people kind of what I'm saying. It
was like, wait, no, that's not what Colin said. Well,
by the way Colin responded, if you wanted to read
his post, he's like, this.
Speaker 7 (44:54):
Is what I said.
Speaker 8 (44:58):
Then yes, just oh, it's not a flamm dark He's like, well, here,
I'll pull a little bit that short of it was
as the cross had had a thumbnail up and maybe
still does.
Speaker 6 (45:08):
It's like canceled just you know, because like that's what
YouTubers do.
Speaker 8 (45:12):
But I would agree, like Paul addressed this as well,
it's like, wait, you're taking a small bit of info
and the audience is now saying you're rage baiting us,
you're clickbaiting us into like all this rage over that's
not totally true and.
Speaker 6 (45:25):
Being taken out of context.
Speaker 8 (45:27):
And so now it's actually interestingly, and I only got
this from Paul's video, but there's a bit of a
shift of like defense of Marathon in there, people who
like time out.
Speaker 7 (45:37):
Now, you guys are going too far.
Speaker 8 (45:39):
That's part of what I'm hearing is you've got some
people coming to say like hold on, give him a chance,
you know. But in short, the marketing has not been
canceled by Sony. The game is not delayed. And another
facet here was PlayStation Canada I think just had a
teaser trailer for upcoming games and like of course they
just they just stuck the plant in the same way
that you can go look at Marathon's page and it's
(45:59):
coming out September twenty third, Like nothing has changed, but
people read this tweet it's like, oh it is happening,
and it's like it's such a mess that y'are getting
like like with what TV and you were saying, like
they have to come on, you have to say something.
It's almost like I equated to buy corporate life, where
like stuff is happening at a company and it's like
a mess and people are confused.
Speaker 6 (46:19):
It's like are there going to be this? Is this changing?
Speaker 8 (46:21):
And you need the CEO to come down and be like, look,
this is what's happening.
Speaker 6 (46:26):
Yeah, and we're in the zone of like, what's going on?
Speaker 7 (46:29):
Do they do?
Speaker 2 (46:29):
The CEO is yeah, well, and then I don't know
if that makes sure to you know, to fan the
flames a bit more. Did you happen to watch like
Destin's video where he talks about, oh.
Speaker 6 (46:41):
I get reports from never heard of them, sources that.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
Some sources people who had left the studio and had
some some things to say, some light to shed on
on leadership as well. And I don't think not that
Deston shouldn't have reported that, but I think that that
also added to people feeling really inflamed about the whole
situation as well.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
That's becoming a story that kind of pops its ugly
head over and over again for Bungie, Right, is a
leadership like doesn't seem connected anymore?
Speaker 8 (47:19):
Yeah, I mean the reports so, yeah, Destin had a
couple of folks saying that there was you know, some
toxic workplace environment stuff, which we've heard before, and you know,
it's like part of it. You can be like, well,
if it's people that left the company.
Speaker 6 (47:30):
Like of course they're gonna feel that way. But are
they still there?
Speaker 8 (47:33):
They on the product like, I'm not defending it. It's
just of course, and this is Bungie's problem, Like you're
gonna hear a lot of negative stuff unless you really show.
Speaker 6 (47:42):
You have to show not tell.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
Yeah, So okay, if you guys are Bob Sony right
now right and you're like, what the hell is going on?
We just paid how many billion dollars for this studio?
They were supposed to like head this initiative for all
these live service games where those are dropping like flies.
The guy who even started that initiative is gone. They start,
(48:06):
you know, they start like kind of showing off marathon
and it just is making people more mad and more
mad as they go, as Bill Sony like what are you?
What are you thinking right now? Because I ain't happy?
Speaker 3 (48:22):
I mean obviously there was obviously there would have been
big talks like hey, like how far along are you
compared to the alpha?
Speaker 7 (48:29):
What state was the game?
Speaker 3 (48:30):
Is the game incurrently right now compared to the alpha?
Like are these things already in the work to be
addressed and probably look at the timeline and hopefully having
a proper conversation like how realistic it is to cover
the to do list in the release window. That's what
(48:51):
we'd right, And it's not like people going, oh no,
that went way further along and we've got it all covered,
like you know, we haven't.
Speaker 7 (49:00):
We haven't messed up. We're on board.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
I think it gives me like Dad shows up at
your dorm room vibes where it's like they trust you
to do your thing and to be responsible, you know.
But then eventually there comes a time where if you're
not if you're not playing your cards right, Dad's going
to show up in your dorm room and be like, listen,
we need to have a heart to heart. And I
think Sony's done that before with Bunge, where they've shown
up at the studio, They've they've had their people show up.
(49:25):
They're like, you need to show us what's going on here.
And I think that's a very realistic possibility when it
comes to, you know, how they're handling Marathon, I think
that they may have to be more hands on, like
you're talking about Briar. I think Daddy might be upset
and he needs to show up and have you show
me exactly where we're at and where we're going.
Speaker 8 (49:47):
So was your question what would you do if you
were Bob Sony. Yeah, not Bob Bungeee. You know what
I think is interesting about this is it may in
fact be Sony in just that corporate pressure that has
led to this, because like what I've seen so far,
looks like they've been making this game for a while.
(50:08):
And look around you and see how many games have
been being made for a while and they're getting canned,
no matter how big. Black Panther just got canned, the
Cliffhanger Studios, down, Wonder Woman down, any number of pretty
big games just getting pulled. This is not uncommon when
people spend a lot of time with tons of like
really talented folks, so all suggesting expecuatively, I do think
(50:30):
at the top level, and Bob Sony has already said
we need you to release it this year. Maybe he's
going through Bob Bungee who is Pete, but going through
p parsibility you have, it needs to come out, make
it happen.
Speaker 6 (50:44):
So what I'm seeing is it looks.
Speaker 8 (50:46):
Like they're like, let's do all the cool trailers, let's
get him in and have the marketing event, like we
do feel good about our game, but they're being pushed
when they probably the whole team, I bet said we
need another year.
Speaker 7 (50:58):
We need it.
Speaker 6 (50:58):
I know you don't want to hear it, and they're
like it's too bad.
Speaker 8 (51:01):
So I think that's what's happening is that Bob Sony
already came in and has said this, and so now
you're in a situation that like, look, that's the first
domino to fallen. And they're probably right because I think
they're looking at this like we give you another year,
Like they're looking at all this cancel stuff that's not
gonna you know, turn a profit anyway, so they're like,
just pull the ripcord. I think it's a situation we
(51:22):
find ourselves in. But because of what we've seen.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
The standout feature of this game was the art style.
Speaker 8 (51:30):
Yeah, well, and it still is, Like, let's be fair,
they did not steal the entire art style. And I
think you need some real art students in here. Artist
that has not been named, that has not worked at
the company, I think since twenty or twenty one put
this on, you know, a texture decal sheet, and sure
that stuff ended up in there. You know, a lot
(51:51):
of people have been talking about how Wipeout had started
some of this. Uh, I forget if it's what that
style was called back then, whether it was brutalism or realize.
Speaker 4 (52:00):
Art style is not a unique art style.
Speaker 6 (52:03):
You know, it's look around, there's tons of stuff.
Speaker 8 (52:05):
But now, because it's so they did such a good
job with it, it's being boiled down to like, well,
they stole the whole thing, and anyway, I just think
it's important to reiterate that's not what happened. Somebody stole
somebody's art that no longer works. You know, that artist
doesn't work there. But but yeah, it's a huge stain
and I think that's what they're faced with. How do
you bring out your pre order trailer when everybody's calling
(52:26):
it art raiders?
Speaker 6 (52:27):
I don't know. Do you hear this, brior?
Speaker 1 (52:29):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's it's.
Speaker 2 (52:37):
Stick.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
That is funny.
Speaker 8 (52:38):
Though I feel really bad for like the like mini town,
but it's funny.
Speaker 6 (52:46):
Give it up for that one, you know.
Speaker 8 (52:49):
And then during did you see during the live stream
that like their livestream is getting bombed with plagiarism?
Speaker 7 (52:55):
No, what was it? Yeah, will make me go?
Speaker 8 (52:58):
It was plagiarism, will make me go, I guess, And
it was spammed in it, so that's what they're reeling from.
So honestly, my short pitch and this is has it
goes into the conversation that what I was bringing up before,
I'm not trying to tell you what will be successful.
That's not why I play games. Arguably, you need a
(53:20):
big audience to play a PvP game. But putting that aside,
I'm like, I'm more on the I.
Speaker 6 (53:24):
Love early access games.
Speaker 8 (53:26):
I think they would never do this, but just say, hey,
early access comes out, we want to work with you, guys.
We have some excited folks. Look how many people want
to get in the discord. It's an early access game
from Sony's Live service.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Would you charge forty to get into the early access?
Speaker 6 (53:41):
Yeah, thirty five forty bucks. Yeah, and same thing for them.
Speaker 8 (53:44):
But call a spade a spade and let's work together
if we truly believe, and if it fails, then it's
like the audience knew what they were signing up for,
at least as you're supposed to trying to like fool
them with, like this is the next quadruple A from
Bungee to create of Halo, and you're like, that's not
what I'm seeing right now.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
Yeah, I think that's a great idea because it does
set the expectation differently. It right involves the community into
think and we're building something as opposed to you released
something that wasn't finished.
Speaker 6 (54:14):
I wish triple A companies are terrified.
Speaker 8 (54:17):
I think of like how do you get to the
Elder Ring thirty million sold when you take the air
out with like early access, And I don't know other
than like Boulder's Gate, you know, I don't know how
many examples there are, but I think people are terrified
of the idea that you would market something is value
right and then try to like be like now it's
really out.
Speaker 6 (54:36):
So I don't think we'll ever see.
Speaker 8 (54:37):
It, but I think, yeah, it's a damn shame because
like think of the last of US Live service game
multiplayer had come out as early access too. I think
I think it would have done pretty well under that,
except I don't know how much it would have cost
to support though, you know, And that's that's the issue
here is you can still do all of what I'm saying,
but if they're like burning through three hundred employees a
(54:58):
year supporting this, uh, you need to sell a bunch of.
Speaker 1 (55:02):
I know, people are still mad about that last of
Us to thing.
Speaker 6 (55:06):
Dude, I wanted to play. It's so bad.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
People love the first one, the first multiplayer.
Speaker 8 (55:10):
Yeah, and this was an evolution. You know what's sorry,
go ahead of mon.
Speaker 3 (55:15):
I would say, I'll find a lot of the loss
of US multiplayer. I really enjoyed it. Yeah, I had
some like Destiny friends in there before Destiny was around.
Speaker 8 (55:23):
I'm laughing and reacting because you forget maybe. But the
story was also that Bungee, the live service expert, looked
at this well, but it turned into day Killed when
they obviously just provided like you know, a high up
like hey, like, we know what we're doing with Destiny.
Speaker 7 (55:39):
But they're getting blamed for all of that.
Speaker 6 (55:41):
It's such a mess.
Speaker 7 (55:43):
Oh man.
Speaker 5 (55:44):
The reason they ended up stopping it is because they
said that they basically realized what it takes to have
a live service game and keep up with a live
service game, and they're.
Speaker 4 (55:54):
Like, oh, that will be our studio.
Speaker 5 (55:58):
There will be no more single player games.
Speaker 8 (56:01):
That was the only thing, and I totally I think
every player gets that. But at the same time, you
had to react. You're like, how did you arrive at
the finish line? Almost and then you realize that's what
you'll make that that part that doesn't pass muster, it
doesn't like now something else was going on there too,
I mean probably just budgets for intergal and.
Speaker 4 (56:22):
Said don't do this. You will ruin your lives at
your studio.
Speaker 1 (56:26):
And they're like, stay as long as you can.
Speaker 7 (56:32):
Maybe that, don't do it.
Speaker 6 (56:35):
They actually they're like, wait until you see what happens
next year. Oh man, what a mess.
Speaker 4 (56:44):
Yep just happened.
Speaker 6 (56:49):
Well, there's nothing to cover, but people played Edge of Fate.
Speaker 7 (56:53):
I just would not.
Speaker 8 (56:54):
Next week, I think we're going to hear about Edge
of Fate was previewed by some creators like Dato and others.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
So was it.
Speaker 6 (57:00):
It's exciting?
Speaker 8 (57:02):
No, nope, not you, No, not me. But next week
we'll learn more.
Speaker 6 (57:08):
I guess.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
We got a new Marvel Rivals stuff content dropping tomorrow,
so they'll have a new character, Ultron. They'll be their
first flying healer. New map, new convoy map looks pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
How much characters in that game, like, how much do
their in game abilities relate to like their kind of
their fictional personas.
Speaker 2 (57:34):
Oh, they do a pretty a pretty good job with that.
There's some minor complaints, but for the most part, they've
they've done a really good and I liked it that.
I mean, ultron aside, they do a really good job
of finding obscure characters and bringing them to the forefront,
and that actually helps with expectations because of sure, they've
got Captain of America in there, and they've got Wolverine
(57:55):
in there, but they also have like an obscure X
Man's little sister in there, right, They've got Colossus's little
sister Magic, who most people have never even heard of,
but she's an incredibly cool duelist. But that also takes
pressure off of them to sort of like match expectations
from what you've seen in the Marvel Cinematic universe on
(58:16):
the big screen, because that character's not there, you know
what I mean. So they get to have a little
bit more creative freedom. But I think I've done a
pretty good job with that.
Speaker 5 (58:24):
Yeah, there was a pretty substantial Monster Hunter update.
Speaker 1 (58:34):
That he heard that you were a bunch of people
with a Kuma.
Speaker 4 (58:37):
Yes, it's that crazy.
Speaker 5 (58:40):
So uh, first of all, the so, okay, the update
is a Capcolm collab between Monster Hunter Wilds and street
Fighter six.
Speaker 4 (58:49):
Normally these kind of things. You're like, you do a
little event, maybe you get some skins and stuff.
Speaker 5 (58:54):
This one, it starts off with you like finding carcasses
and you're like, okay, so those are fully voice lined
of like villages and your character and the handler, like,
everything's fully voiced.
Speaker 4 (59:06):
And then you find people are.
Speaker 5 (59:07):
Like, he's just been going up to monsters and killing
him with his bare fists.
Speaker 7 (59:12):
You're like.
Speaker 4 (59:14):
And then so you find these.
Speaker 5 (59:15):
Carcasses and you're like, that's weird. They've got punch marks
on them instead of weapon marks. And then you go
to this other area and you can hear Akuma just
making noises somewhere. You come across him and there's these
whole voice lines with Akuma of him saying why do
we need to be in harmony with the beasts?
Speaker 4 (59:36):
Just kill them?
Speaker 6 (59:37):
And it's actually.
Speaker 4 (59:40):
It's done really well.
Speaker 5 (59:41):
It was actually really funny, Like that whole quest line
was really really funny. And then it ends up with
you doing an arena quest against Ajyrcon, which is the
ape like creature, and you are Akuma, so you you
look like Akama, your full armor is you you are him,
and it's playing his street Fighter six music when you're
(01:00:02):
fighting a jar a coon, and you have three moves
on your hot bar, so one of them is in
your slinger Ammo. You get a Hodulken so you can
shoot adulkens. You can charge it up and shoot the Hondulken.
The other one is a Kuma's drive impact, so you
(01:00:23):
can use his drive impact to as an offset. So
when the monster's about to hit you, you hit the
button and it does a big clash attack that happens.
It's also how you destroy wounds, and it does his
whole animation that he has in Street Fighter six of
when he does his drive impact move, lots of fists
(01:00:44):
flying at the monster, and then he turns around and
you see his back and it's got like the Akrome
sign on.
Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
His back when you said drive impact, but he gives
him a bad hug, you know.
Speaker 7 (01:00:54):
It does like the whole like slams her into the ground.
Speaker 5 (01:00:57):
Drive impact is a it's a thing in Street Fighter
where you build up your drive impact special moves. Yeah yeah,
and you do that in Monster Hunter. You build up
your drive impact bar so you can.
Speaker 7 (01:01:10):
Use the drive impact.
Speaker 5 (01:01:12):
So that's how you pop wounds and use an offset.
But then you have another thing which is it's called
assisted combo Acuma, and you are doing street fighter moves
in Monster Hunter to use a lot of Acuma's move set.
So you've got square, square, square, triangle, trying triangle, circle, circle, circle,
(01:01:34):
You've got your little half half circles that you're doing
to do some storkins.
Speaker 4 (01:01:39):
You've got it's like everything. It's like it's whole move set.
Speaker 5 (01:01:42):
So you can actually hunt all the monsters in the
game as Akma.
Speaker 7 (01:01:55):
How do you do half circles in a three day environment?
Speaker 4 (01:01:59):
It's like if you play a three D fighter, So
you just have to think of.
Speaker 5 (01:02:03):
Like Ford is always is always forward, for it is
always for it no matter where your character is facing. Yeah,
so you're I'm sitting here, so I put out a
tweet of my character's face being like, oh when I'm
like me trying to do Ford forward down, forward, square
while a monster beats my ass. It's it's really really fun.
(01:02:25):
I did a couple of hunts today where it was
just four Akuma's punching monsters to death and it was hilarious.
Speaker 4 (01:02:33):
It's really Does it work on a PlayStation or Steam? Sure, Yeah,
there you go.
Speaker 5 (01:02:44):
Immersion for Monster Hunter. I don't think so Monster Hunter
has always done silly collapse with their properties and yeah,
and and it is kind of that game, right, You've
got like cooking cats.
Speaker 4 (01:02:57):
It's a kind of whimsical.
Speaker 1 (01:02:59):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (01:02:59):
There's also an outfit for your Palico, which is Blanca Chon.
Speaker 4 (01:03:04):
Yeah, no Gremlin Blanca when.
Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
As a Monster to Hunt.
Speaker 5 (01:03:13):
I think that's why they chose a Jarcon because he's
like kind of like Blanca.
Speaker 4 (01:03:17):
He's kind of like Akama's.
Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
Okay, yeah, I feel that.
Speaker 5 (01:03:22):
So oh and then then there's like some outfits for Alma.
You can make her chun Lee or cami Ye came
saw the camera one.
Speaker 6 (01:03:30):
Yeah, it was a good choice.
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
Check that out.
Speaker 5 (01:03:41):
Months un in like a week or something like, wow,
he's going crazy. They've all just little small details like
if you're not wearing the Akuma outfit and you use
some of the emotes that they give you, it uses
Reu's voice for all of the moves. There's three moves
that they give you in gestures, and your Palaico doesn't
(01:04:02):
do the gesture.
Speaker 4 (01:04:03):
But if you're wearing the full.
Speaker 5 (01:04:04):
Akima outfit and your Palko is wearing the Blanca outfit,
you use Akima's voice when you do all of the
the gestures, and your Palaico does Blanco's moves while you're
doing the gestures, so he's like lightening it up with electricity.
Speaker 7 (01:04:21):
Do you see skeleton.
Speaker 4 (01:04:23):
I don't know if you see a skeleton.
Speaker 7 (01:04:25):
Because that would be wigged if something like that.
Speaker 5 (01:04:29):
It's just everyone's just like, man, this is a next level.
Speaker 4 (01:04:34):
It's like having a fifteen.
Speaker 5 (01:04:36):
Yeah, it's like having a whole new weapon because it's
actually virable to hunt monsters with, which is normally not
the case. Normally, you'll get an emot that can do
some attack damage, but it's like eight damage to a monster.
So some people would do like fun hunts where they
try to kill a monster with a hoodokin at the
end or something.
Speaker 4 (01:04:53):
But this is you can actually do the full thing
with akama.
Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
Ye talking about region demon that ass you do.
Speaker 4 (01:05:04):
You can't.
Speaker 7 (01:05:06):
Talking about DLC.
Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
I played the Division two's DLC that they put out.
Speaker 7 (01:05:12):
I can't believe Brooklyn.
Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
I can't believe that he was getting DLC still way, this.
Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
Is the This is the first DLC since twenty twenty,
so it's five years.
Speaker 8 (01:05:22):
Yeah, Worlds in New York. Wow, it's the first DLC
and now this is like kind of a yeah, so
it's kind of been on. Uh, I don't know, caretaking
Skeleton crewer.
Speaker 7 (01:05:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
I don't know exactly how people have been working on it,
but like this has been the first DLCE in a
long time. They've had like season Pass stuff come out,
but this is the first like major bit of content,
I guess, like a new new area, new skills which
are like your abilities that you can you can use
in Division two, and new like story campaign quest.
Speaker 7 (01:05:55):
So you did rage quit, actually rage quit? And I said,
what Division two? So you gotta say you just went.
Speaker 8 (01:06:05):
From you just started trying the Division two and I
was like, oh, just get ready and then just pop
into Battle for Brooklyn was the advice last week, And
you tell me it's quid.
Speaker 7 (01:06:15):
Division two is.
Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
I don't know if anyone's Does anyone actually play Division
apart from Fran Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
Haven't a bunch of it, see I have it a while,
but I did go real hard on it at launch.
Speaker 1 (01:06:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:06:26):
Yeah, it is an interesting game.
Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
It has one of the best looking urban environments I
think in any game. Every time I go in there,
I'm like, man, these environments look so good. And you know,
like they look good for a cover shooter. Two, because
you often environmental design with cover shooters like, oh, next
a box, I should hire Bond, you know what I mean,
Like they're really good at the environmental design for a
(01:06:50):
cover shoot.
Speaker 7 (01:06:51):
It all looks like it should be there.
Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
And it's a nice, you know, post apocalyptic area that's great.
Cover shooting is great, the law surrounding and the tank
like you know, you've got high tech gadgets, but there's
no space magic so to speak, so it's you know,
it's it's great for that theme.
Speaker 7 (01:07:08):
Does that really well?
Speaker 3 (01:07:09):
But I think like it is such a stat It
is an ARPG dressed up as a you know, cover shooter,
and I think you kind of need to play it
like that where you really got a min max stats
And it's kind of weird to have a not not
a bad way, but it's weird, Like it's hard for
my brain to get around playing a cover shooter but
treating it like diablow for do you know, because like
(01:07:31):
you get to content, you're like, no, I can just
bring forces, Like if I'm good enough for getting the cover,
I can get through the game. No, you don't have
the armostats you don't have the DPS, you don't have
the stats to do this. And that's when I raged
quick because I went from heroic and then I dropped
it down to challenging, and then I dropped it down
to hard, and the next I was like basically easy mode.
Speaker 7 (01:07:55):
N I'm out.
Speaker 3 (01:07:57):
You know, it probably shouldn't have been that way, but
I think that's kind of like I'm need to just
accept that I didn't have the right gear to and
the stats to deal with h This delC and this
DLC is harder, I think than previous ones. They do
a lot of things in it where I don't know
(01:08:18):
if you remember the first division when you had the cleaners,
the guys with like the firefire kits and the shields
and the axes, so like you're just constantly being pushed
out of cover, and like the DLC kind of that
theme is like nowhere safe, which felt really odd for
like a cover shooter. It's like, because I didn't have
very good gear, I was just getting absolutely smashed on
(01:08:39):
like every level, just getting pushed out, getting rushed, getting missile.
And doesn't mean it's a bad DLC because I saw
reviews of it people who are longtime vans who've been
playing for the last five years, like I just blitzed
the DLC, no problem, and I kind of probably put
it in the category of like the Eldering trade, you know,
like I didn't like Eldering Tree because I didn't play
(01:08:59):
a lot of eldering. I didn't feel like I had
the tools to deal with the DLC, and the DLC
was quite a bit harder, right. I kind of felt
like almost the same with Division two, which was like,
I don't have the builds with this yet, I don't
have like the right gear for this yet. I needed
to play on story mode until I build up some
more stats and more gear and then punched through it.
Speaker 8 (01:09:21):
But just for clarity, you normally you wouldn't play unchallenging necessarily.
Speaker 6 (01:09:25):
You could if you want it.
Speaker 8 (01:09:26):
It's the one right below it and in in other words,
the one below challenge whatever. Normal was not easy. I
don't even remember they have you, but they did. They
hard It's harder, so you're telling me it was not
like just reasonably balanced. It was there was nothing in
between that or you just by then were so I.
Speaker 7 (01:09:45):
Could have dropped down to story and probably completed it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
It it was significantly harder at those levels just because of.
Speaker 7 (01:09:52):
The enemies it was throwing at you.
Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
So like, for example, nearly every like area, you would
get behind cover and there would be like a turret
on one side that you had to disable, and then
the enemies would spawn on your side of cover.
Speaker 7 (01:10:06):
So like if you couldn't like.
Speaker 3 (01:10:08):
DPS those enemies and deal with them quickly, you were
just like jumping out of cover then getting shot by
tarot then like kind of going down, which isn't bad,
like it's just it was. It was a pretty like
for someone's I been playing for five days, it was
a pretty rough like DPS check and I think for
the rest of the game, like I was at the
(01:10:28):
level of challenging, like I could do challenging context I
can't build and and hard was kind of like a
walk through on on like previous like areas in the
game and like DLC, like I could do that, but
on the DLC itself just because of the way the
encounters were, like I couldn't, I couldn't do it.
Speaker 6 (01:10:47):
Are you playing so.
Speaker 7 (01:10:48):
Which just like yeah, I also also I was running
solo too, so.
Speaker 8 (01:10:52):
Like which is a common thing that I brought that
up last week, and I wondered how it's changed. But
if you aren't on a team, sometimes suddenly it's like, oh.
Speaker 3 (01:11:01):
Yeah, I kind of did talk about that, because there
are a fair few mechanics that would have been a
lot easier in a team. Like one of the bosses
is just on you like the whole time and you
have to like press buttons and activate laptops and stuff,
and she basically one.
Speaker 1 (01:11:19):
You press buttons.
Speaker 6 (01:11:21):
Yeah, check it out.
Speaker 7 (01:11:24):
So I'll be interesting to see how you go.
Speaker 3 (01:11:26):
And please don't take this as like me, because everyone
every time I played Division is like a very dedicated
community that let love it, And honestly, at the moment,
I do have a love hate relationship with There's so
many parts of it that I think are really fantastic
and really good. And right now it's on sale and
Steam for like five bucks. It's on game Pass now
as well, so if you've got game Pass you can
(01:11:47):
pick up and play it. I do recommend playing with it,
but I think you do have to treat it like
Diablo for or Peer Wee two and be like, if
you go into high level content, the mobs are just
gonna one shot.
Speaker 7 (01:12:02):
You're like, Okay, I'm not ready. I've gotta go back.
Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
I've got to go grind, I gotta go get my
stats up. Then I got to come back in so exactly,
and it's my brain has a hard time doing that
when it's a complishiated because he kind of felt it's
more skill and autonomy involved because you shild stuff right,
you know, just like left clicking.
Speaker 7 (01:12:19):
So yeah, but normally, like normal mode should be fine.
Speaker 8 (01:12:24):
My general advice for Division has always been, like, play
it solo and if you're enjoying that, like I like
to play solo, but unfortunately because of the way it's
built and the scaling and I don't know again know
how they've changed it in the many years now. But
eventually you hit a point where you're like, oh, this
is clearly multiplayer. It's okay, I'm gonna just hit the
matchmaking and replay this in a group. And if matchmaking works,
(01:12:45):
it becomes more fun because like you actually don't really
need to talk to each other unless you're doing raids.
Speaker 6 (01:12:50):
The raids. Yeah, but like you're fine.
Speaker 8 (01:12:52):
And then all of a sudden you're like, oh, I'm
having fun because like it's mini games. At least I've
experienced you can just tell when it's made for multiplayer
and everyone just suffers from it.
Speaker 6 (01:13:01):
Usually, it sounds like maybe could be that.
Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
Yeah, there was definitely a lot of the encounters, Like
in the DLC you're kind of pinned down, so like
one of them, you know, you've got to activate laptop
and then you have to stay in that area and
like one side of the map is you have pinned
down like a missile launcher. Now O the time, that
map has all the ads, all the all the ads sporting,
so it's like it is actually like pretty pretty tough
(01:13:24):
to like juggle it all solo unless you've you know,
been playing for the last five years and you've got
Mega Juice kits and you're like, I watch another stream
and the dude's one tap in literally every enemy with
headshots like a firefly perk and everyone's exploding, and I
was like, okay, and now I look at that, I'm like, Okay,
that looks pretty cool.
Speaker 8 (01:13:47):
Did they reset levels off for Battle of Brooklyn Lake
from something like did you have to like grind new
levels in Battle?
Speaker 9 (01:13:54):
No?
Speaker 7 (01:13:54):
No, you don't have to grind any more any more.
Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
Levels They reset Like I think it's your there's like
a battle path.
Speaker 7 (01:14:01):
Is it a battle pass?
Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
Yeah, there is usually is there's like a battle pass,
but they they have like global modifiers which they put
on which you can activate and it's kind of like
pulling on Nightfall modifiers for the everything, and they're kind
of interesting, so like.
Speaker 7 (01:14:21):
They'll mark enemies and all of this.
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Is actually like took me along, and it actually got
really shitty about it because some of the descriptions Division two,
if you haven't played before, like a very tough to
like read through and work out what exactly is going on.
But like essentially enemies had like these symbols marked on
them and that would actually give you, like they added
new attributes that would buffet. So one of them was
(01:14:44):
just like a flat crit chance like additional krit chance.
So if enemy had like a red symbol and you
kept quicking heads on the guys with the red symbols,
you actually buff up your crit chants and you could
then link it with almost like artifacts stuff, and Destiny
is almost like yeah, it's pretty much like an artifact
system and destiny where then you like have an active
a billion like oh, when I've got you know, level
(01:15:05):
four my krit chance from shooting the red dudes. They
press a button and that's going to give me like
double crit chance.
Speaker 7 (01:15:10):
So yeah, it's.
Speaker 3 (01:15:11):
Pretty much like an artifact system mix of night form modifiers, yeah,
which which changes your play style, makes certain builds more
viable or less viable.
Speaker 7 (01:15:24):
Very similar to deal where you might now invest.
Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
In something different because you've got these like artifact modifiers
on it.
Speaker 7 (01:15:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:15:31):
I thought that was like weekly tied to like the
challenging stuff, but I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:15:35):
I haven't played it in so long. Sounds different to me.
Speaker 7 (01:15:39):
Yeah, uh so there you go.
Speaker 6 (01:15:40):
Not for you, you're out.
Speaker 7 (01:15:43):
No, but he's the thing, right, eat it down?
Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
What is it?
Speaker 7 (01:15:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
I quit, but I'm still thinking about it, so maybe
there's something there. Like I was like, I was like,
I ended the end end screen. I was like, fuck
this game fucking difficult. While they're playing with like this,
I'd have to be in a group, I don't have
the gear, and then I'm like to the stree, I'm
like I kind of want to level up my gear
now so I can do you know.
Speaker 8 (01:16:13):
Yeah, try some matchmaking next time. Maybe unnormal though, like
I would normal until you hit a wall, just for
like the story, because that's again it's normally how these go.
Speaker 6 (01:16:21):
It's like, just like the story stuff, which is.
Speaker 8 (01:16:23):
Meant to be kind of you can make it insanely difficult,
but I've always found the balance in the game.
Speaker 6 (01:16:28):
You need a team.
Speaker 8 (01:16:29):
If you're not on a right just put it on
a normal until you get into like a world.
Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
Yeah, apparently this was like I don't know if the
first DLC or like one of the new changes that
made to the DLC is that you can choose the
level straight away. You don't need to play on like
story mode, which is like easy mode. And then so
I bet you someone from Ubersoft was watching me stream,
like this is why we don't let players choose the difficulty.
Speaker 7 (01:16:57):
Level on the first run. They quit, quit because I
think they can do it and they can't.
Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
It's okay, and pay for a bit.
Speaker 6 (01:17:10):
Yeah, got your hands for bit of fun time.
Speaker 8 (01:17:13):
Just wait until next weekend when they shadow drop Arc Raiders,
you know Summer games that's next week.
Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
I don't know, would be like, I'm raged quitting this game.
It's too hard. I'm gonna go back to elden Ring.
Speaker 6 (01:17:27):
Which he also had raged quit Ghetto.
Speaker 1 (01:17:31):
I think the first one your Ridge quit. Elden Ring
then went back to it.
Speaker 8 (01:17:36):
Right he was bullied into going.
Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
If possibly bullied anybody about elden Ring, he raged quit,
real rage.
Speaker 7 (01:17:52):
Okay, I'm seeing a pattern here.
Speaker 8 (01:17:55):
And by the way, it's fine, maybe just quit and
don't rage quit, just regular quit.
Speaker 7 (01:18:02):
That's not in my vocabulary.
Speaker 4 (01:18:04):
You could quiet quit. You can quiet quit.
Speaker 5 (01:18:07):
You know what, You just you play a little bit
less every time and then it's gone.
Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
Quitting stream just silently clicked the uninstalled.
Speaker 2 (01:18:19):
You have to tweet every time you quit something. That's
the rule.
Speaker 4 (01:18:21):
You should.
Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
You should let him know that mode in one that
came out where it was like ice cold and you
had to like run to keep from freezing to get
inside and you'd gear up just in that mode. What
was it called wass one?
Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
Division was like okay, I was about to say, it's
just a survival mode, because every time I played Division
they talked about Division one survival mode.
Speaker 1 (01:18:50):
Yeah. Was it just called survival mode? I think it
was called that was game mode.
Speaker 7 (01:18:59):
That's what I'm going.
Speaker 3 (01:19:01):
I'm gonna say, if it's still playable, I would have tried,
because like because every game, yeah, I think I think
every time I played Division two. There will one hundred
percent be someone who says, oh, how could was Survival
Division one?
Speaker 7 (01:19:18):
I was like, I'd never actually played that.
Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
Another thing is people will say like Division kind of
invented the extraction shooters and was sitting on it and
never did anything with it. Like they were there at
the beginning, almost before the trend, before even the genre.
Speaker 7 (01:19:31):
Would call it an extraction shooter.
Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
With dark Zone in Division one and then and then
potentially I had something like Survival sitting there to you, like,
and they kind of slept on a couple of game
modes that they should have had a lot of success with.
Speaker 1 (01:19:45):
Yeah, I was surprised that they didn't bring that to
Division too, because it was wildly popular too.
Speaker 8 (01:19:50):
Like seems like, yeah, what's weird because I think it
was maybe I'm looking at footage, it looks like it
was born out of dark Silm, right, Yeah, but it's a.
Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
Intional game boat Rolo PvE. You entered with nothing, right,
You'd walk in and you'd have to collect everything and
you have to start looting from the beginning, and the
hook was like everybody's your enemy and it's so cold
outside that you'll freeze to death if you stay outside
for long, so you have to like run to different
(01:20:21):
like warm spots and build up like uh like gear
that's gorm enough for you to stay outside.
Speaker 8 (01:20:30):
Making Division three, so they've got their marching orders on
this one.
Speaker 6 (01:20:33):
I think between like you know.
Speaker 8 (01:20:36):
Arc Greator's success, extraction shooter success, but they were some
of the first they I hope they get all of
this right in the Division.
Speaker 3 (01:20:44):
Every time I played Division, I just think, Man, I
kind of wish this was survival or like Dais esque
or just something like that, because the environment's so good,
Like I do kind of want to just you know,
scurry around and loot and made other players and fight off,
you know, enemies, Like I kind of want to be
even more immersed into the like Division world rather than
(01:21:06):
like you know, selecting a mission from an overworld map
screen kind of deal.
Speaker 1 (01:21:10):
Yeah it's funny there, Sorry my brand go ahead.
Speaker 7 (01:21:14):
No no, no, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:21:16):
It was exactly the same comment.
Speaker 8 (01:21:17):
And I got to thinking about how much I liked
some of those survival gunplay cover shooting elements from Last
of Us, and I was like, man, if you could
meet some of that vibe in the world, you know,
like you said my own, like it's such a cool world.
Speaker 6 (01:21:33):
I'm hoping Division three will too.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
Like every time you play and you're like, you know,
you you jump over like a half wall and stuff,
like the animations and like the running between covers and
like it's such a slick game that always makes you
feel like a bad ass too, like the gear holding,
like the little gadgets you throw out, the drones are
going like, it always looks epic and I always kind
(01:21:57):
of just want.
Speaker 7 (01:21:57):
There a little bit a little bit more as well.
Speaker 1 (01:22:00):
Yeah, never really did a good job with the shooting mechanics.
I felt like into where they really improved, like the
gunplay and the gun feel.
Speaker 7 (01:22:08):
It.
Speaker 1 (01:22:08):
It's definitely a lot of shooting shit, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
The I think the big difference in Division two and
my memory of Division one is there's a lot less
bullet sponginess, and the bullet sponginess ends up coming in later.
If you're just like under built, you don't have really
a bill going. But if you're like keeping at level
with the difficulty you're doing, it's not like my memory
(01:22:33):
of Division one, which is like putting ten rounds of
LMG into like some dude wearing a big helmet.
Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
Yeah, Division two seems to rely more on like map
design and counterdesignment mechanics than just having you know, bullet
sponges thrown at you, like what you were talking about earlier.
Actually where you're like, I went to the DLC, I
felt like I needed somebody else there because the thing
I had to interact with was in clear line of
side of the enemy spot and I needed to juggle
(01:23:00):
different things. It's those kinds of things. So I feel
like they kind of maybe that's one way that they
sort of grew up as as you know, developers of
the game. So it'd be interesting to see what they
come up with for the Division III. The Division two
has had a pretty solid core community for a long time.
Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
Five years later they do a DLC, they must have
a good community.
Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
It's pretty similar to right, like if you look at
Twitch numbers, if you look at like content creatives on
YouTube and what kind of views I pull on like
a build god and stuff like, I think it's pretty
comparable to Destinies community with people sticking around.
Speaker 8 (01:23:40):
So yeah, yeah, it it went as I recall, like
when the DLC of Warlord came out, people wanted more
and then they finally got into the idea they needed
to support it with some kind of seasonal stuff. And
then and it became like such a long hook for
people that what they did they started replaying seasons they
would like you would go back through It's like you
(01:24:03):
go back around the Yeah, and then they were filling
that time, and then they started to have some new
content into any way. Yeah, they've really stretched it out.
But I've been happy it made it this far. So
that's why I was excited about the DLC. So I
hope for people who.
Speaker 6 (01:24:20):
Like Division that it might be good.
Speaker 7 (01:24:22):
I mean, and I get what I tell you.
Speaker 3 (01:24:25):
Let me tell you about one of the I think
Division two has one of the best crafting systems and
I you know, I hadn't really played it before and
it is very nice, and I'll tell you about it.
So it has like a library system where when you
have an weapon or i'm a piece drop, you can
(01:24:46):
remove a stat from it and bank it in your
library and you've then got it forever and you can
put it onto other gear. And when you have a
piece of gear drop there is I guess potentially four
like stats you can be looking at. It has like
a core attribute you have two like like other attributes.
(01:25:06):
Of the non core attributes, and then you have like
a talent, which is like, you know, get after your
tenth headshot the dude that turns into a worm, right,
so god, and so you get something drop and it
might be a max roll crit chance on your normal attribute.
You're like, oh great, oh it destroys the weapon, but
you end up banking that fifteen percent crit chance into
(01:25:30):
your library, and so the game becomes a lot about
still the loots, still getting the loots are then extracting
the max rolled you know, components, and you're going to
do with everything. So like it's shotguns, rifles, assault rifles,
side arms, masks, body armor, like every every piece of
gear is basically going to have multiple stat roles that
(01:25:53):
you're chasing, and so you go farm them and you
bank them. And that's kind of like the beginning of
making a build is you get like a gear sense
and then you start and then you want to have
when you put roles onto a bit of gear, you
can only change one attribute, so it doesn't give you
full control of just crafting a god piece. You've got
to like you're got to get a gear that's got
you know, three out of four and then the shitty
(01:26:15):
stat you're gonna rip off and you're gonna put on
one of your max stats.
Speaker 7 (01:26:19):
So it really still need to get You're halfway with crafting.
You still got to farm good roles. You still got
a farm. But does you want to extract a god
role necessarily?
Speaker 3 (01:26:28):
Yeah, it could be close enough that you can maybe
make it a gold roll kind of deal.
Speaker 7 (01:26:32):
And then that's where the real min maxine comes into it.
Speaker 3 (01:26:34):
And I think it's probably the best like crafting I've
seen that has it my undermine the like the whole
chase of getting loot and like being excited about something
popping up and that's got a good role on it
or something.
Speaker 8 (01:26:46):
And it helps solve loot problems, which is like, you know,
one of my biggest Whenever they answer it was like, oh,
I'm just gonna get rid of it because and I
don't feel like I wasted my time.
Speaker 6 (01:26:55):
I got the max script. At least they got that.
Speaker 7 (01:26:57):
I really want it. I can from it later.
Speaker 3 (01:27:00):
Yeah, it's actually really easy to look through your lobbery
because then you just stop looking at stat role. He's like, okay, Like,
as long as this gun doesn't have max stats on everything,
I'm just going to extract the best stat from it
and I'm done, and then it goes to my lobbrary.
Speaker 7 (01:27:14):
Then I know I can use it later when I
when I need to.
Speaker 8 (01:27:16):
Yeah, it's such a good set because like even if
you don't get the god role or aren't hunting it, yeah,
you might be like, you know what, I do want
to use an assault riffle right now or marksmen or whatever,
and then you're like, oh, let me see what stat.
I might at least want one good stat of. So yeah,
you can make like a half good gun despite not
having saved everything in your your loot pals.
Speaker 6 (01:27:35):
Yeah they have. I don't know what else they've added
since then, but man, when they added that.
Speaker 8 (01:27:39):
That was like I kept saying, I'm like, please, Destiny,
you have to do something like this, like just let
me save snapshot on is is Luna?
Speaker 6 (01:27:46):
So like four years from now, I don't have like six.
Speaker 8 (01:27:49):
Eyes lunas sitting, you know, and all I want to
find is that one other stat and then I can
put it together like that.
Speaker 3 (01:27:56):
Like the real big difference between some ofer like desks
and the end this. You can see how this leans
much more towards the Diablou and Poe where it's like
I'm getting like percentage increase in like a stat rather
than Destiny, whichould be like a perk that you know,
you want a certain combination of yeah, it's working rather yeah,
you know, so you know, I still I think it's
(01:28:18):
it's it's yeah. I think it's great. I think it's
a it's a really good system. And I think if
you if you understand that, like it's a fun game
to grind and do content. They've got an incredibly good
targeted loot system too, where you basically can just make
activities give you the loot that you want, and you
just opens up a menu and you're like, I want
(01:28:39):
this gear from this gear set, and then it just
increases the chance of that dropping and you just play
that content and then it drops for you and it's
highlighted as the thing you've targeted. You pick it up,
see if it's the role you want, put you back back.
Speaker 1 (01:28:52):
Let's nice.
Speaker 6 (01:28:54):
It's funny.
Speaker 8 (01:28:54):
Division finds itself in the place that Desky's not, which
is like they're extending it.
Speaker 1 (01:28:58):
You know.
Speaker 8 (01:28:58):
Still like granted, not as much production stuff is Destiny,
but Division three is on the way people know it,
so they can kind of extend into presumably how many
years out Division three is I don't know, but that's
a good place for them to be.
Speaker 6 (01:29:12):
They can keep it going that long.
Speaker 7 (01:29:13):
You know. Sometimes it's almost like when people aren't watching.
Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
It's funny when people aren't watching, Developers seem to do
their better work, right when there's not that like pressure
and the eyes and everyone's telling you not it is not, no,
it is not do that.
Speaker 7 (01:29:25):
So I gut you just kind of left.
Speaker 4 (01:29:29):
Slat the people who do it as a job do
their job.
Speaker 8 (01:29:34):
Plus you get feedback from people who really enjoy the
game and play it a lot.
Speaker 6 (01:29:38):
There's some downsides to that too, but overall that's good.
Speaker 8 (01:29:41):
It's like these people really get the game versus people
who just are like me and just play it for
an hour and complain about it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:46):
You know, someone in chat just ask can they get
back into it, like as if you're missing out?
Speaker 7 (01:29:50):
No, there's not.
Speaker 3 (01:29:51):
They they have like legacy missions. So if what what
happens with like a season is they have like a
like like an eightwake low season and it ends in
like a mini Boss.
Speaker 7 (01:30:03):
There's a bit of story leading up to it, but
they just basically.
Speaker 3 (01:30:06):
Put them as legacy missions and rather than having to
play eight weeks if you missed that season, you actually
just play the final mission. So it's like it's like
doing the final mission in an episode of Destiny, and
you just do that and you.
Speaker 7 (01:30:19):
Get the reward from it and then you move on.
Speaker 3 (01:30:21):
So there's some legacy stuff in there if you if
you want to jump back into Division that you can
get it, and you haven't really missed out anything. There's
no like sunsetting, like you can still access everything. I
think you just work out what you want to go
for and target your loot and you're like, away, you go.
Speaker 7 (01:30:40):
I wanted someone for someone who quit Division two. I'm
doing a lot of selling it.
Speaker 4 (01:30:47):
You see them real excited.
Speaker 5 (01:30:49):
I Frans started playing Shadow of the Urgery.
Speaker 4 (01:31:02):
Oh yeah, I just want to hear. I just want
to hear, you know, some stuff, some thoughts.
Speaker 5 (01:31:06):
Finallyctly he got into it.
Speaker 8 (01:31:11):
It's too early for me to say, even though I've
played it for a good h I don't know, twelve
hours or more. Maybe dead I am a new game plus,
which I don't know how that factor has given.
Speaker 5 (01:31:21):
The scaling not much so with I played it in
New Game Plus as well.
Speaker 4 (01:31:26):
The biggest thing is just the scatter tree fragments.
Speaker 5 (01:31:28):
That is the only thing that matters when it comes
to DLC scaling.
Speaker 8 (01:31:32):
Okay, so whether I had entered it at level one
fifty or two fifty or saying you don't think that matters, I.
Speaker 4 (01:31:38):
Don't think it. I don't think so.
Speaker 8 (01:31:39):
So to speak, Yeah, I mean I get that sense.
But the one thing, the reason I bring it up
is it sure feels like I need to use like
plus nine level and above weapons and that's fine. Actually
I just realized. I was like, oh, yeah, all the
four hundred hours of grinding I did, I can go back.
Speaker 6 (01:31:58):
And buy a bunch of smithing stones, SOLF.
Speaker 8 (01:32:00):
So maybe pro Mylin's saying, I can say, boy, yeah,
it hits hard, and if I try to use any
of the fresh weapon drops and stuff that it drops,
I will get destroyed, even having even having a few
scattered three or four, but even early on the point
is that it's like dropping something and you're with those weapons.
Speaker 6 (01:32:20):
They're so weak.
Speaker 8 (01:32:21):
It's like taking like fourteen hits for like a base enemy.
But that's why I was like, I don't know if
that's a new Game Plus or but I just remembered
I can actually go and just use a bunch of
ruins and level the weapon up, which will solve some
of this.
Speaker 6 (01:32:33):
So but there is that going on. It feels weird.
I don't know how that is.
Speaker 8 (01:32:37):
And most people, like I said, outside a new game
Puster otherwist putting that aside. I mean, it just feels
like such a great expansion, uh, because you go into
it and you're like, holy cow, it just looks incredible.
It sounds incredible, you know, and so I feel I'm
like right back into it. To me, so far though,
it feels like more elden Ring, and that is a
(01:32:59):
good thing. After playing four hundred hours, I'm like, oh,
there's this new land to explore. It's all the same
stuff that I've come to expect, and it feels substantial.
Speaker 6 (01:33:08):
But like, I don't have an impression outside.
Speaker 8 (01:33:10):
Of that of like oh wow, like they really did
this or that. It's like, oh, this is a you know,
a fencing dexterity type weapon and here's another mace that
I can use it as fire on. And I'm like, okay,
But that's where I was a little caught up.
Speaker 6 (01:33:24):
Like I said, at first, I want to use new stuff,
but I felt.
Speaker 8 (01:33:27):
Penalized that I I need a level of those weapons
up so they don't feel it trash. But it seems
beautiful so far, it seems substantial. I'm curious how big
it is. That's my big question at this point, big big. Yeah,
I'm in for it, like only yeah, I did like
one I assume like mini boss within a castle, cause
(01:33:48):
I beats this lion boss and you go up and
it does the same thing where like the thorns, you know,
this time it's like shadowy tree branch is blocking a
doorway and it's like, well, I guess.
Speaker 7 (01:33:59):
I can go through there. Yeah, I wonder what's in there.
Speaker 6 (01:34:01):
And and you're just exploring everywhere.
Speaker 8 (01:34:04):
And I got trapped in a catacomb last night and
it I will say, Yeah, it's definitely harder like the catacomb.
This is the first one I hit, and I'd hit
a side boss too. All of them were like they're crazy.
The agro It's like everything's turned up to like twelve. Yeah,
I take it this sense they were not pulling any punches.
Speaker 5 (01:34:26):
Yeah, there's some of I think my favorite bosses are
in the DLC, So I'm excited for you.
Speaker 4 (01:34:32):
To see them.
Speaker 6 (01:34:33):
Yeah, I want I need to start using big new stuff.
Speaker 8 (01:34:35):
That's I literally turned a corner last night from being
frustrated with I'm using Morgot sword, I'm using like old armor.
Speaker 6 (01:34:42):
Like I like all this stuff.
Speaker 8 (01:34:44):
And frankly, to be fair, there's so much stuff in
the base game that I didn't really get a chance
to use a lot of it. So it's not that bad,
but I'm like, I kind of want to try this.
And then I tried a few things like I said,
and I.
Speaker 6 (01:34:52):
Was like, uh no, thank you. This is like poking
them with a tree branch.
Speaker 7 (01:34:58):
I'm like, I'm not doing this.
Speaker 6 (01:34:58):
But then I went back.
Speaker 8 (01:35:00):
I was like, oh, I can buy all the way
up to a pretty high level.
Speaker 6 (01:35:03):
I just need to like balance and buy things. So
I'm going to do that and see how it feels.
Speaker 1 (01:35:08):
It can be hard with a DLC, right when you're
like continuing a character that you haven't played in like
two or three years.
Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
Like I almost feel like I need to record a
video for myself, be like, hey, when you come back
to this game in six months or whatever, here's what
you were doing and how your built works. Because I
was saying probably.
Speaker 1 (01:35:26):
To like to get my weapons? What button am I
supposed to hit.
Speaker 4 (01:35:32):
In night Ring?
Speaker 7 (01:35:33):
Running around?
Speaker 5 (01:35:34):
And we're like I was when we're I was playing
with Demitri's and he's played a ton of own ring
and he's We're all just like we're currently thinking of
how to use our hands.
Speaker 4 (01:35:44):
But we're like, okay, wait, how do you do we
want to get? Wait? How do I swish to the
offhand again?
Speaker 2 (01:35:48):
Weight?
Speaker 4 (01:35:49):
What was the buttons?
Speaker 5 (01:35:50):
So?
Speaker 4 (01:35:50):
I kept forgetting everything, but I think the amount.
Speaker 7 (01:35:54):
Of times I still there.
Speaker 3 (01:35:55):
I don't know why triangle in my head is attached
just slamming triangle.
Speaker 4 (01:35:59):
I was just gett.
Speaker 5 (01:36:00):
Drinks, trying to attack with because that's how you ama punch.
Speaker 1 (01:36:05):
Oh yeah. I hate how the souls like genre seems
to willy nilly like switch which was gonna be the
dodge button and which is going to be like the
drink You're like, you're healing motion button? Like what the fuck?
Speaker 3 (01:36:23):
Some convention that binds old gaming companies together lising gods?
Speaker 1 (01:36:29):
Switch the button, I mean the buttons.
Speaker 8 (01:36:34):
The worst part for me is that, yeah, there are
controls differences between night Rate and elden Ring because of
the new abilities and stuff. So I really am gonna
have to make close Like, yeah, I'm pretty sure to
handing is a different button. It's the same process. It's
just it's it's like a different button now and I ran.
But anyway, did you.
Speaker 1 (01:36:54):
Get a new trailer?
Speaker 6 (01:36:55):
Wats oh lies of p did we talk your We
talked about it last week.
Speaker 1 (01:37:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:37:03):
They had some people play like a little bit of
the first areas, so there was a bunch of impressions
and new weapons and.
Speaker 1 (01:37:10):
Stuff that was And that's a start from scratch DLC. Right,
you're not continuing your savee you're just starting with.
Speaker 5 (01:37:16):
Yeah, I think so, Yeah, because it's it's a prequel
to what happened in Lives of Piece, so it makes
sense that you don't obviously have the stuff that you
had before.
Speaker 1 (01:37:26):
Look towards that. I'll enjoyed that game so much, in
that weapon system where you can combine parts of weapons
to make like your own new creation with so much
fun and to get back into that be a lot
of a good time.
Speaker 6 (01:37:39):
It's still no release date or anything, right, not yet?
Speaker 4 (01:37:43):
No, not yet. I assume like it's this year.
Speaker 5 (01:37:47):
Yeah, I assume at this point, you know, we're weeks
away from Summer Game Fest, like if you're ready to
announce your game, you might as well just wait.
Speaker 6 (01:37:55):
Can't wait for that marathon trailer?
Speaker 7 (01:38:00):
You know? I played this week Battlefront two?
Speaker 5 (01:38:04):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:38:05):
How are Resurgence?
Speaker 1 (01:38:06):
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (01:38:07):
Why?
Speaker 4 (01:38:07):
What's happening?
Speaker 5 (01:38:10):
Like the Monster Hunter thing where they were like go
play Maso, Like, okay, I think.
Speaker 3 (01:38:17):
There was a combination of people probably won't want to
admit it, but like Star Wars being in Fortnite, uh,
and then and then and or and then the fourth
the fourth, I guess Destiny had a Star Wars thing?
Is that out that Destiny did a Star Wars collab
(01:38:37):
to right? So just I think just general stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:38:41):
And ended as well.
Speaker 1 (01:38:44):
I got to watch it now.
Speaker 3 (01:38:47):
And I think most people kind of remember battle Front
being like good but ruined by micro transactions, so pretty
willing to go back and give it a shot and.
Speaker 1 (01:38:59):
In the day it's fun, right, Yeah, I think.
Speaker 6 (01:39:08):
A lot of people are playing it.
Speaker 3 (01:39:10):
There's no there's I don't think there is any I
think that they're just gone Front two.
Speaker 1 (01:39:17):
Yeah, release, they had like to win micro transactions, you.
Speaker 7 (01:39:24):
Get these loot boxes, and I don't think that's in.
Speaker 3 (01:39:27):
It anymore, Like you still get them, but they've just
got one thing in them.
Speaker 1 (01:39:32):
More powerful weapons when that game released.
Speaker 3 (01:39:34):
Yeah, so there are aspects that a little bit frustrating
if you're just coming back to Battlefront two, like coming
back to any game has been found for years.
Speaker 7 (01:39:44):
There are people that have never left.
Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
And they're like stuck through it, and they are going
to beliterate you because they know like every angle. It's
just like playing a battlefield or it's like playing a
battlefield game, you know, like it takes a while to
learn the map and like learn where everyone's coming from
and like where you can be peaking and that, and
there is a card system that you level up that
(01:40:06):
can just literally give you like more damage, resistance, improved shotguns,
improved grenades, and it like it goes from a rarity
of white to purple, going from like, you know, five
percent to fifty percent. So can't I be prepared to
get your head kicked.
Speaker 7 (01:40:24):
In a little bit when you first start.
Speaker 3 (01:40:26):
However, you level, you can level them up and co
op and a lot of the like the guns you
have to unlock, you have to do co op to
actually unlock them, And I was really reluctant to do
co op with like I want to play PvP.
Speaker 7 (01:40:38):
That's why I'm here.
Speaker 3 (01:40:39):
I had an absolutely blast in co op with a
with a couple of friends, like just shooting droids, shooting
clones finanigin, Like it's pretty epic and it's pretty fun.
It's a fun game, a really good game.
Speaker 1 (01:40:53):
It was just ruined, like the It's ape was just
ruined at launch because of the macro text transaction ship. Yeah,
and like it's a real scene because they made a great.
Speaker 3 (01:41:03):
Game and one of the one of the best modes.
Do you remember e walk Hunt Walk Hunt now? So
you have it's it's like it's like, what's the call?
Speaker 5 (01:41:15):
I know that you're saying the steward right feel like
you did said.
Speaker 7 (01:41:23):
He walk hunt now? We all heard you?
Speaker 4 (01:41:27):
Yeah before we get Is.
Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
That why Brian looks most of his eyes ever opened up?
Speaker 4 (01:41:38):
He's going on a ran.
Speaker 6 (01:41:41):
Australians.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
So one one person starts off as an ewok and
has like third person night vision and a spear and
has like the little I don't remember that can throw
like a little bottom that has like fireflies that like
like disrupt them. And everyone else is a storm trooper.
They don't have night vision. They have a flashlight and
(01:42:06):
a blaster and they're locked into first person and as
the Ewok. As you kill storm troopers, they become Ewoks.
And it is so good because you end up just
a bunch of bears running around and or like throwing
bombs and Stormtroopers running away trying to stab them, and
they gotta like they gotta hold out until like reinforcements
(01:42:27):
come and get on the ship. It is crazy fun,
and there's like a lobby for it. People still go
in and be like play it. Yeah, it's really good fun.
Speaker 6 (01:42:37):
It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
The other the other good mode is Galactic Assault, which
is like scenes from Star Wars movies. Basically, you know,
like big battle scenes and you play as one side
where you've got to like invade a certain certain space.
But like it's it's very epic. It's like all the
(01:42:57):
things you'll remember from from movies and just going, man,
this is really cool. And then you get to then
you get to flip it and reverse it. Put your
name down, flip.
Speaker 7 (01:43:11):
Yeah, it's good.
Speaker 3 (01:43:12):
Infection from from Hayler. That's pretty much will count. It's
is It reminds me of the time where you hear.
Speaker 7 (01:43:21):
Really you can't.
Speaker 2 (01:43:22):
It's the only thing I can hear.
Speaker 5 (01:43:24):
I think because you're I think because when you're saying it,
you're you're keeping the K there you will, you know.
Speaker 8 (01:43:31):
He really stresses these gas.
Speaker 5 (01:43:36):
It's it's K and h is coming together to produce.
Speaker 7 (01:43:42):
Us. It's a good time.
Speaker 3 (01:43:48):
Hardly recommends us. So if you would like to, it's
on game Pass, which would then force e a player
to open and then you'll play through.
Speaker 8 (01:44:00):
Oh really.
Speaker 6 (01:44:03):
You have to go through a play Well wait, if
you own it, it doesn't matter, right, I mean, or
do you.
Speaker 3 (01:44:09):
If you have a Steam it's going to open up
a a play still as well?
Speaker 6 (01:44:13):
Oh god, like that was just the deal they had
in place.
Speaker 4 (01:44:18):
Stuff does as well. Yeah, any company that has their
own launcher. That's what happens.
Speaker 7 (01:44:28):
It's annoying. It's not a cross play either.
Speaker 6 (01:44:30):
It is because it's too old.
Speaker 3 (01:44:32):
It's not cross it's not I have a huge amount
of issues getting people in my in my team and
to group up and not getting the invites, and I
have the ubers don't have the uber soft overlay on,
and they're like the invice don't coming through, and so
there's there's still stuff like that service over the weekend,
(01:44:55):
you couldn't log into like e a play you couldn't
connect to, like what's going on?
Speaker 7 (01:45:00):
So many people playing?
Speaker 8 (01:45:03):
That must have been like crazy for the people who
like yeah, just kind of maintained a small user. It's
like I'm actually picturing like on the death Stars with
the alarms are going off, Like.
Speaker 7 (01:45:14):
That's what was actually happy. It's like Ray exactly, like
we have play.
Speaker 6 (01:45:21):
We need the surfers online.
Speaker 7 (01:45:23):
Now people are literally playing.
Speaker 8 (01:45:27):
That's so good. Yeah he was twenty seventeen.
Speaker 6 (01:45:31):
Good for them.
Speaker 7 (01:45:35):
Light bomps, Yeah, I used light Should we rap?
Speaker 6 (01:45:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:45:44):
Yeah, that's all I've been doing this week.
Speaker 4 (01:45:46):
I want to playing lots of night Rain, lots.
Speaker 6 (01:45:49):
Playing that's so fun.
Speaker 4 (01:45:51):
I legit had so much fun. I just want to
get back on and play more.
Speaker 6 (01:45:55):
Night RN be playing tonight once.
Speaker 4 (01:45:58):
I'll hop in check you want to hop in you know,
like wait, what.
Speaker 6 (01:46:05):
If you're looking mild?
Speaker 7 (01:46:06):
Let me know.
