Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to episode to forty seven of the
dcp P P people was.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
The DCPP DCPP.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Name.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
You mixed the you mixed the numbers and the letters up,
that's our name. None of that was aggurate at all,
which makes it even better DCPPS. He was on roll.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
It was like one hundred episodes off. Was I more
than that?
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Yeah, we just got done with four twenty. I thought
that at least you would remember that, you know, recent,
But you you rolled it back, dude.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
So far twenty was more of a step back than
a step forward.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
I don't even know what to forty seven. You did
have the numbers right, Yeah, remember it was.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Like a dyslexiclexic dirrect answer. I looked. I went camping
last night. I went kayak camping, all by my loans,
first ever camping trip.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
I saw your pictures.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
They look good, didn't they beautiful?
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Haven't yourself?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
First ever camping tripped by myself?
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Oh? Is camping scary? By yourself? A little bit?
Speaker 1 (01:11):
But it was. It was really fun. But I made
a couple of mistakes where I really wanted to go
kayaking during the sunset, so I set up camp then
got back on the water. But while I was getting
in the kayak, I fell in the water. Then I
was sopping wet. I still wanted to go and look
at the sunset, though, so I disregarded my my wetness
(01:35):
and went out back on the water, watched the sunset
for about an hour, came back in and realized that
now I'm soaking wet. I gotta like change, I gotta
warm up. I also have not done anything for food
since the day before, like I haven't eaten any And
I have to figure out a bear bag situation because
(01:56):
there are bears.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
Here need a bear bag which you gotta is that
so the bear has like jammi's and sleep and stuff
so you can join joined in.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Definitely you're trying to get on the bear so he
knows to get in there. Yeah, not eat you and
just like kind of go to sleep.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
And this is a welcoming place. We're trying to create
a welcoming environment for the bear coming.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Come on, did you have to do the bear bag too?
Speaker 6 (02:26):
Did you have a bear sitting on the kayak with
ka battle off into the sunset?
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Brian, you won't want to ben please, honestly, I would
read the heavy so it's kind of.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Honestly, DCP community, I need you to make like a comic,
like a weekly comic called Briar and the Bear's describing
it would be incredible.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
I would read that a nice little like cozy slice
of life camping Briar the Bear.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
The Bear.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
I think it's just what every story Brian has each wig.
It's a little adventure. You know, you could have the
Warhammer hole set up too, just Bride going into Warhammer
Stole awesome questions Brian be.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
So side note about the bears is that my wife
is definitely afraid of bears, right, Like we we're at
a rational fair fear of bears. Like She'll be in
the backyard, which is fenced in backyard, suburban community, there's
no bears here, right, but she's scared of bears. Right,
She's scared of bears even in our backyard. So I'm like, hey, Han,
(03:38):
she was not coming on this camp trip. I said, hey, Han,
do you know where the bear spray is? I need
it for tonight. She's like, uh, it's in my car.
I'm like at work. She's like, yeah, why do you
have bear spray in your car at work? She works
in the city, So it's no bear spray for briar.
(04:04):
I guess I could have gone a guys, wow.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
But you had the rope and you did get your
bear bag up and all that.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Yeah, which was difficult in the dark even with the
head lamp. That perception with like a single light source
is a little weird.
Speaker 6 (04:15):
So what what what are you doing with a bad bag?
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Try?
Speaker 6 (04:19):
And we don't we don't have to deal with this.
We deal with the little things that kill us, not
the big things.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
You toss a rope over a high branch, like you
tie you tie a rope to a rock something, and
then you like kind of swing it and try and
like launch it over a high branch and then once
it's over, then you can flip your bag of food
on and call it up into the tree.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
So you give them a pinata. Yeah, it's like a ball.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
No, you get it up so high.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
But you and wrong.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
But like you also that you have to know that
you're not in an area with bears that climb trees, because.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Yeah, I mean there is. I think you let the
bear have a food.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
See, I don't know what you do there is.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
If there's a tree climbing bear, you give them a
different bear bag. Do you give them a bear?
Speaker 3 (05:06):
I don't know what you do in that situation.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Putting in the kayaking, push it in the middle of.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
But it's just you and the bear on the island.
I don't know if that's great.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
I look at each other. Great, now we both have food.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Google says that you should use a bear canister.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, be canisters to fit inside kiaks.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Though you wait, you know what that is. I just
I've never heard of a bear cancer.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
It looks like one of those big things that like
you get like a family, like a Cheetos. Yeah, it's
like a little plastic keg.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
That's awesome. Honestly, I would just bring a keg, empty
it out for dinner and then put the bear stuff
in there.
Speaker 6 (05:55):
That's top which top of bears are in this area,
because it's a different and what you have to do.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
We got the friendly bears mostly trash eaters. You don't
really have to worry about him attack it too often.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Yeah, black beans on too bad?
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Like then, no, we have grizzlies in the US.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Okay, what else exciting yourself? That sounds terrifying. I don't
enough that.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
Yeah, it was very it was like Briar's little tiny tent.
It is all lit up and it's just pitch black
everywhere around it. And I'm like, the first picture was nice,
this one's a little scary.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Yeah, and like it doesn't surprise me. But you know,
you hear Briar works on stuff, and like he's pretty crafty.
I just part of you sort of assumes, no, he
would know what to do and the plant ahead, and
then you're like, no, definitely, he's not.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
Even gonna bother.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
So you being like wet, no plan for dinner, it's dark,
you're not set up for camp, and.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
You're alone, Like.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Camp was set up okay, but you didn't have a
plan and it was after dark already, which makes it
all like difficult.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Right Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
But I'm just glad you're back and you made it back.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Thank you, Thank you, fran.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Yeah did you have fun.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
I had a great time. I'm I already planned another
trip in two weeks.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
M sounds a little just a short checklist this time.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
The actually that way overpacked, Like the there was an
issue with the kayak where I was a little worried
that it was gonna get swamped when like other boats
came by and waves were coming over because the boat
was sitting so low in the water. So I gotta
I gotta lighten the load a little bit. And let
me tell you, buying lighter gear is way easier than
going on a diet. So that's the path I'm gonna take. Smart.
(07:56):
I did. I did buy a thousand dollars uh sleeping
bag though, which.
Speaker 6 (08:01):
Was, Oh, yeah, I bet you want what's well I
think is worth investing to be honest, Yeah, is.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
That rated for like twenty four degrees or lower or
something like?
Speaker 1 (08:12):
No, it's not even rated. It's just really fucking nice.
It's called it's called zend Bibby. If everyone wants to
look it up, then Bibby zen Bibby. It's like a
it's like a quilt with a sheet and a pillow.
Oh and there's like a little hood that comes.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Over your head that's like glamping.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah, it's really nice.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
It was Memorial Day.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
It was like thirty off, so I splurged.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
It's totally worth it them because like if you can
just like go to sleep, roughing it right out there
and that part is comfortable, it is. There's nothing better
than laying down on the ground right where it's pretty uncomfortable.
You probably had a mat too, or.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Yeah yeah, blow up airb actress.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Yeah, but even that like can be kind of uncomfortable something.
Speaker 6 (09:01):
It's pretty good, well by yourself. Blow up air mattresses
are okay. Is when you get when you get the
double and your partner and then you both move it around.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
It's like you're a.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Idea.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah. Yeah. When we have separate mattresses, we just put
them together.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
We went camping recently. My wife's pregnant, so like half
the car was literally mattresses. I was like, it was
so for it was like double mattresses because she couldn't
really the air mattresses is not very comfortable. I was like,
we can't fit anything else in the car. We're gonna
have to take food out. So we've got mattresses and then.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Amazing, just roll up one of the kids, the kid
in the mattress, be perfectly safe from there and see.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
It on the roof. Strap me down the roof.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Anyhow, enough about me doing stupid ship in the woods. Yeah,
it's been There is so much going on. We got
to switch too long, too much. Yeah, we have the
sony state of play, which I am extremely excited about.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
I can't imagine why.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
We had what else did we have the Edge of Fate?
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Tennis Wish launched.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Yep, what do you want to start with?
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Wat's played Neo three demo? Oh man an.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
Edge of Fate?
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Shall we okay?
Speaker 5 (10:25):
Because I don't know much if I'm honest, gotta eat
your vegetables before you eat the ice creamy.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Yeah, I still need to like catch up on it.
Normally I would want to bring Watts. This is gonna
be our destiny correspondent tonight, I only caught a.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
Little I so I did. I have watched probably about
two hours of content creative videos on it. But it's
really hard to contextualize stuff when you're just getting like
info dumps about stuff, you know.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Yeah, I was just gonna say on that, right, So
I tried to as well Wats, but everybody's yeah, it's
big detailed infidels. If anybody out there knows, please like
if say it in chat now or tag us in
the comments, if there's anyone did like a concise everything
you need to know. But there's it's like really lots
of long videos out there.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
Yeah, So the impression overall impression that I'm getting about
Edge of Fate is that they're doing a lot of
stuff to change the core experience, to really work on
the core, to like set a good foundation to build
more stuff upon. So they're doing huge changes to like
weapons and armor and stats and how you obtain stuff.
(11:38):
They're doing huge sweeping changes with that, like pretty significant stuff.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
Can you tell me how Edge of Fate fits into
like the new model? Is this? This is? Is this
an expansion that counts as an expansion?
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Right?
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Cmember? They take one expansion roughly speaking, teams development size
has changed, but they split it into so now in
December it's instead of like July than July.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Gotcha, this is the expansion copy deet.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Yeah, so you know they're changing like mobility and resilience
and all of that stuff to just be completely different things.
They function differently, they do different stuff, so that's a
huge change. You've got yeah, armor two point zero with
set bonuses and all of that stuff. So there's just
lots of big changes. They're like, we are we are
(12:26):
changing the game. So I think if you're if you're playing,
or if you want to come back for Edge of Fate,
it probably makes sense to nuke most of your armor
and just go I'm just starting to get because the
the armor is so different and even the weapons being
like different tiers. I think it makes sense to just
hold on to some stuff that you know you're gonna
(12:47):
want to use initially and then kind of just start
again and start getting new stuff. So it's it's it
doesn't have any of the like new subclasses or new
crazy stuff happening. It really feels like like what Bungie did.
It's something that they've needed to do for a long time,
to be honest. It's just work on like the fundamental
(13:07):
parts of the game and set it up for it
to be more fun and more rewarding to play Destiny
in the future, and then they can start adding you
know that fun crazy stuff.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
Yeah, and I'm probably wrong about this, but I always
bring up Lightfall as I played it some of the
most of any of my time because of they made
quality of life changes, like the affinity changes went away,
armor sort of changed right, and and they added load
outs and like, so I would think of it more
along those lines. This is one of the biggest sweeps
and seems to be actually way bigger. Yeah, So it's
(13:38):
it's big in that sense, Yeah, we're going back to
like level ten or you know, zero basically, and they're changing.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Yeah, the whole power system. There's like your overall power system,
and then there's like per season you have like seasonal
power which goes away at the end of seasons. So
it's kind of like I would I would honestly put
it closer to when we got special Ammo back and
specially a weapon. It's like that's big of a change
to the game. So yeah, it seems like people are
(14:05):
pretty excited about it because the pretty positive I would say,
I would say overall think people are positive.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
What's what's the what's the same record?
Speaker 5 (14:20):
Positive?
Speaker 4 (14:21):
Positive?
Speaker 5 (14:22):
I think mostly positive. Yeah, I think so, I think.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
I think, yeah, people are happy to see that things
are more sweeping changes. But I don't know what the
hands on impressions from, Like, yeah, I watched a little
bit of like Fall plays, a little bit of As
to Cross, and I just didn't get to get into it.
I've had an insane like week, but no excuses. But
the point is, I don't know how everybody's feeling of
(14:47):
those creators, you know, and then you have like community
sentiment and like Watts, you're not saying you know for
sure either, right.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
It seems like creators generally were pretty positive about like
those fundamental I think the thing that I've seen the
most kind of iffiness on is the way that the
campaign works in terms of like the Metroid Venia stuff. Like,
some people seem to really like it. Some people are like,
I don't want I just don't want to try and
figure out where to use my ball person and where
(15:15):
to use my cannon shooting thing. So that seems kind
of kind of mixed on that, but the new character
people seem to like the new character. Yeah, So over
overall pretty pretty positive stuff.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Oh yeah, load Eye or whatever you mean, load dying? Yeah,
that's cool.
Speaker 6 (15:33):
Was it some more announcement about Destiny Rising as well?
Speaker 4 (15:36):
I do remember that being stuff. I don't know exactly
what it was.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
I don't have you guys quarter it or all, but
I did see some videos pop up about Destiny Rising
and people kind of locking it for some reason. It's
probably just like I wish you've Destiny as the general vibe.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
I God, I think it's a closed beta test.
Speaker 5 (15:54):
Yeah it's playable again run oh.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Yeah, I just came out again and yeah, close beta
I think that was the most of them, right, Yeah,
I mean people are I think they're hyped for, like
because it's this alternate you know, Destiny reality where it's
in the hands of other developers and you know you're
seeing some different takes on you know, everything from the
elemental powers to other stuff that that's a whole other
(16:17):
bag of chips.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Yeah, it's just on mobile for now.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
I think Joe Bright puts it pretty well, is that
mostly feeling with the feeling of everything is changing, so
we have to kind of wait and see before we judge. Yeah,
it's like you have no you have nothing that you
can think about, Like, well, armor is totally different, and
weapons are totally different. There's a tear system and the
way that you get rewards is different, and power is different.
And yeah, but I think I think with there being
(16:48):
so many big changes, I think that is really really
good for people who are even like one toe still
in Destiny because this is if you do enjoy playing Destiny,
this gives you a lot more to do and to
work towards and build towards, and yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Them take it bigger. Like the base game of Desty
right now is a little scary because like it seems like, oh,
we're fundamentally changing the way this works, and then a
year later there's like somebody else in charge who's fundamentally
changing the way it works. And like with no like
(17:28):
no regard for like what we said a year ago,
you know what I mean. It's back in the day,
it felt like there was like one person in charge
for a long time, and now it's it's much more
nebulous in that way. And like they they seem to
be changing kind of the direction of destiny every one
or two years.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Yeah, I mean it's interesting because.
Speaker 6 (17:48):
No, I was saying, I think I don't think I've
got too much to lose at the moment, as long
as I changed the I mean, I guess this could
change the formula, but I think change is probably good
in a game this.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
All lutis shoot out, Like I think it's yeah, something
is it.
Speaker 6 (18:03):
I Mean, you can always mike a completely wrong directional
giant show.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
But this seems like we're changing the foundation. Like we're
not putting in a new pool, We're not putting out
a new deck, We're not putting a new barbecue. That's
the stuff that we do after we fix the foundation,
which is this, Yeah, right, but I could we fix
the foundation and then the new owners show up and
they're like, you know, we really want to add an edition.
(18:29):
We got to blow out this foundation again, like we
just keep building the foundation.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Yeah, I do that.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
I think it's some of that. But that's an interesting
analogy that I also, I don't know, it feels like
a remodel as well, right, Like I I like, like, yeah,
when I hear the Detroit Vanus stuff and I saw
like fall Plays was talking about a bit, I was like, oh,
this is really neat. And I think most of that's
just gonna take place during the campaign and there'll be
some you know, some strikes and things that have that,
(18:58):
but end of the day, it's it's still gonna be destiny.
It's like gonna really rely on the loop and the
guns and the rate of the rewards. Right, yeah, now
you have new armor to play with, so to me, like,
I think the way it's being talked about and people
have tuned out for a while, I just wonder if
people think it's a major revamp, you know, and it
(19:19):
may be, but when I look at it, I'm like, look,
they're showing you a lot of what's changing, but I
think you're gonna hop in. You're like, well, it's still
obviously destiny. And yeah, they took a swing at metroid
Vana this time. And then is the Star Wars Renegade
stuff like Rogue Light inspired. I think, so we'll see
you know again it's the loop. But they big more
than anything with what you're getting at Briar. You're right
(19:42):
that it's dangerous, but if you look at the audience
and listen to them, they're like, it's not changing, So
I have no interest in it anymore. So you have
to change something, you know. To me, it's more that
they are like, you have to start taking some swings.
You can't, it's unsustainable. And they cut the team sides
as well, so they just literally it's fight or flight
(20:03):
situation on a lot of this stuff.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
So be said real quick, were we aware that she
had a naked barbie in her background this whole time?
Was that like something you guys.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Naked barbie?
Speaker 4 (20:18):
She gets some real stuff.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Oh, I don't know, it's not a naked barbie, but
I mean it's pretty skimpy, which.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Uh, definitely a very skimpily dressed barbie. Look alike, I.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Wonder which game that's from Stellar Blade, or.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
Like, uh, if the head is missing next week, I'm
going to be concerned.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
Exactly.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
So you gotta watch, not only listen, but yeah, I
was gonna say, I'm I'm always playing Destiny's new content,
and so when they make changes like this and the
loop changes, and frankly, when I get to delete a
bunch of stuff, hopefully especially armor, but hopefully a bunch
of weapons, I'm always interested to jump in and check
(21:01):
it out. And honestly, I'm a met and people may
or may not remember, I'm a huge Metroid and Metroid
Prime fan, and so literally them like taking the Metroid
Prime ball and doing puzzles with it that are like
pretty spot on in terms of the influence. I'm like, yeah,
that sounds like a lot of fun. I don't think
it's going to represent some major game changing experience, right again,
(21:22):
it's just sort of like, well, you'll do this in
the puzzles in campaign and how long, in other words,
have you been standing on plates, dunking balls, throwing balls, balls, balls, balls,
You get it? Well, now you roll into a ball.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
But that's all I got to say. Your wife hates
what when I answered the kitchen dunking plates on balls,
balls on plates, Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
So yeah, lots of new details coming out. They did
have like a quick FAQ sort of thing and the
the twid if you want to go check that out.
But you know, no new ball space has changed for
now as one of the good reminders, and some of
that is sort of quality of life for the renegade
Star Wars stuff in December.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
I hope Watch's right and that we could just delete
all our shit.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
I would.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
I would just delete it. I would just if you're
like if if it's something that holds you back and
it's something you don't want to deal with, I think
now is the best time to just go in there
with with a couple of things for you to like
do a campaign with so you're set for for a
little bit and then yeah, just get rid of everything
else start again enjoy collecting new stuff.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
I wish I could do that, wish I was that
type of person. But no, like that is exactly the
right advice. So definitely don't listen to what I'm about
to say. But yeah, like getting rid of armor, like
you if you're not using more than one load out
or two literally delete everything else, like you know, no
matter how good it is, like in other words, how
often are you using this other stuff? I get caught
(22:55):
up because I'm like, well, you know, when I'm playing
the game, I do do stuff Asian where I'm I
want to switch to like this whatever graviton uh you know,
land or graviton whatever. The helmet's called setup and and
I'll punch it into the load out optimizer and I'll
just make something super fast, and I feel like I
earned it, and so I don't want to get rid
of it. But it's a terrible thing because I'll do
(23:17):
that like once every six months. So I'm looking forward
to arm or two point zero is the point. Oh
and Watts didn't have a new PvP mode that is
called Cutting Edge. I think it was so what I
thought I heard about. Maybe it's in the update. I
think I heard about it in the previous but I
like the idea of it. Hopefully it's accurate where you
(23:38):
it's going to be using only the new weapons and
PvP in this mode. Yeah, like like even it's like
an option. I'm like that stuff is great. It's stuff
I've been asking for for a long time. Like I
hate going in and it's like, dude, someone's still crushing
on I don't know, you know, if it's hawk Moon
anymore whatever these days. But uh yeah, it'd be cool
to just have like a different mode. I don't think
it's going to be like infinitely popular all sudden, but
(24:01):
I like the sound of stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Yeah, especially if like current, Like so, when the next
update comes out, then this update ship no longer in there,
only the new stuff. That'd be really fun.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
I hope that's the plan. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Yeah, they'd probably have tested this in the past too.
It wouldn't surprise me.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
Uh Fred, did you get to switch.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
To Yeah, dude, I have it in you. Guys are
gonna hate me for saying this, but one I was
at a launch party last night with kind of Funny
and so I was able to already like play Mario
Kart and check out the system for the first time.
So is sitting in a box like cardboard box. I
haven't even.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Opened well there with in there there could be a you.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
Needn't open it yet.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
Ours was delivered from by Walmart and it came with
pringles and a coke. Yeah that's just like, yeah, I
don't I saw it on Twitter and I was like, well,
I saw someone post it on Twitter and I was like, oh,
maybe they just like made a mistake. And then yeah,
everyone's like, oh, my switch arrived with pringles and a coke.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
It's a marketing promotion.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
Wow, I got some free pringles and a coke. My
coke says pull me on it, and it's barbecue pringles.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
I think that's pretty cool thing for Walmart to do, Like.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
You just got the advertising value out of it. To
be honest, everyone's told me about Walmart prinles.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
And coke right, but a lot of people are talking
about how Walmart stuff was delayed. First they canceled some
mortar stuff and that's a whole mass shipping. Yeah, some
people have had their shipping looks to be pretty uh late.
Speaker 5 (25:37):
So that coke you'll get singles on a coke when
you do get it there.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
That's why it's late.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
I think the first thing you'll notice when you take
it out is the screen looks so much bigger, Like
it doesn't do it just when you see images of it,
and then you're like, oh, that's kind of chunky. Even
if I just put it up against the normal switch
it's kind of like, yeah, I mean maybe they can.
So I was giving you a lot of the rings perpective.
Then I was like, wow, he's like that away.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
But look at my tiny hand that I have.
Speaker 5 (26:15):
Weird, it looks more similar to like steam Deck, Yes.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Steam deck, but thinner.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Maybe it kind of feels like that. I mean I
don't have a steam Deck.
Speaker 6 (26:24):
But the quality feel is way higher than the switch, Like,
it is so much sturdier than this. You know, when
you first got the switch, you're like, bro, I could
snap these controlers off. They kind of like wiggle around
a bit, you know. Yeah, they're not locked into place
very well.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
I really like the idea that joy cans are removable
controller like such a brilliant idea, but it's always felt
a little chinsey.
Speaker 6 (26:46):
Yeah, so these definitely ie lot a lot better and
they don't kind of like move around to compared And
it's a mouse.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Yeah, man, it's a mouse.
Speaker 6 (26:55):
I haven't used a mouse function yet because I didn't
want to pay fifteen dollars for the tech to use
the mouse, but I got I've got like ten hours
in Mario Car think I played it all day.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
Yesterday.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
I would love to hear your thoughts on Mario Kurt.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
So, I don't know about you, guys, I don't know
if you've played a lot people's complaints about it, saying
it looks boring, and there's a very very good reason
for the complaints.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
So can you can you first remind me to like
how much more you liked with Mario cart eight or
previous Murray karts, and like how much you've played.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
I play Murray cut eight literally every day at the
beginning of stream of my elos like eleven thousand super
sweaty lobbies like, and I get matched with Japan as
well because of my like time zone, so I'm like
in full Japan lobbies Murray cut eight kind of like
(27:56):
the higher elo.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
H love and hate, Love and hate.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
It, Okay, a classic milin stream then yeah.
Speaker 6 (28:08):
So Marica World has an open world which you can
just free Rome from the beginning of the screen, like
the opening screen.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
It is very very nice. It's seamless.
Speaker 6 (28:23):
You just go like your characters just you think it's
a cut scene or whatever. You know, it's in the
background driving around and you press like free Rome and
like then you just start driving or wherever you want.
All the maps are connected together, and these little puzzles
are out there that you like step on and it
does like a mini time trial. It's like five through
the ring or like Tony Hawk, grind the rail around
(28:45):
this thing, and like they only take a five seconds,
ten seconds whatever to complete. Most of them are easy,
or a bunch of them easy. Some of them match
you a little bit hard. But the open World section
I saw a lot people like igen and stuff criticize.
I think it's great, Like if you got kids, Like
I just had Leo, he's just ten three, and he
(29:07):
was like, like I put on auto drive. I gave
him a controller. He was just driving around the open
world looking for.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
Fish in the ocean. Is that where the fishies are?
I don't know, mate, Let's go find the fishies. Oh
there's a dolphin, you know.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
Like I think that part is really good for a
younger audience. And to be honest, just like I needed
to eat some food on stream. I had one control
one hand, I had the other hand in a packet
of chips, and I was just driving around the open
world finding finding the secrets, and like it was great,
it was good.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
I think it was actually quite nice to be able
to have.
Speaker 6 (29:39):
That option, and I like unlock the world and get
these little puzzles as you go through. And then what
they've done is there are some other new game modes,
ones called knockout where you drive from track to track
to track and you pass through gates and on the
gate's a big number. So like the first gates like
(30:00):
twenty and there's twenty four players that the bottom four
players get knocked out and the rest continue and then
it's like sixteen, and then I think it's eight, and
then it's top four, so you've it's like a knockout race.
You just keep going until you have the top four standards.
There's elimination race because you're driving between places. It is
(30:22):
very the tracks are very straight and wide because you've
got to pick twenty four players on it.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
It is just silly craziness.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
It's just everyone tracks just for that mode.
Speaker 6 (30:35):
No, well, there's like linking areas between them which aren't
technically tracks.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
So there's like just the open wall.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Highway paradise thing where it's just taking the hearts of
the open world and we're going to be this track, okay.
Speaker 6 (30:49):
Yeah kind of yeah, yeah, yeah, so exactly, So there's
linking all the tracks are linked together, and then when
you do that, it creates like it's track kind of
thing and then you just you drive between them. Uh,
it is pretty It's it's chaotic fun. But like I
think if you compare it like skill wise towards Murray
(31:12):
Cut eight, which is just like quite impeccable track design,
this is just.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Kind of like road rash. Is it a highway that
you're just trying to smash.
Speaker 6 (31:21):
Everyone on and hopefully you get the items you want
and just occasionally you'll get, you know, a mushroom and
you can boost past the corner.
Speaker 4 (31:29):
It's still fun chaos.
Speaker 6 (31:31):
The the last MODEO more modes. There's a battle mode
and there's like a normal racetrack mode. And I think
this is where a lot of the comments are about
it being boring comes from. When you do the normal
racetrack mode, you pick your you pick your track you.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Like Grand Prix or time Trails.
Speaker 6 (31:48):
Like no online online still sorry, I'm talk about all
online play. So when you when you when you like
check your normal like racetrack online, you have to race
most of the time to get there. So the and
it's like three quarters or a third depending on how
many laps, sorry, two thirds or three quarters is you
(32:11):
on the highway again. So let's just say you're in
you pick the desert map, but you're currently in like
the mountains. You start in the mountains, you travel through
the jungle, and then you arrive in the desert map,
and when you get to the map that you have selected,
you only get like one lap of it. So the
(32:32):
rest of it's you on the highway spamming items and
then when you get to your selected map, you just
get a single lap of it and then you're done.
And I think this is where like the criticism comes from.
Is it the maps are really good? Like I want
to do a proper three laps of the map I selected.
If I want to do the highway like Chaos, I'll
(32:54):
go into like knockout and do that. But it quite
literally is three quarters or two two thirds of the
race is the highway is getting to the map location.
And that is just a big wide highway with items
pretty much, and you kind of go straight most of
the time, and I could bring them up. But if
you look at the map, like it's just like a
straight line really now, and some people watch it like
(33:17):
this is not that exciting, but when you get to
the actual maps, that actually really bloody good.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
And you can get around it.
Speaker 6 (33:24):
And this is what you're going to see is if
you pick random and the track you get is not
physically connected to where you are, you just get to
do three laps of the track. And people are starting
to pick random all the time now because you end
up getting a track where you just play the track
and you miss all the highway part of it, You
(33:47):
miss all the like, yeah, the straight lining of it
to get there. So I actually really hope they say
change the scale of it, and so I really like
the chaos of the highway before you get to your map.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
But I don't think it should be.
Speaker 6 (34:05):
Three out of four laps is the highway or two
out of three laps is the highway.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
But you can also if you want, play the mode
online without the the highway connection, right.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
Yeah, just straight up, no, no, no, you can't.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
There is a mode you have to do this.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
This is the issue. So the only way you get
around it is by selecting random like.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
A brand pre mode, like a traditional brand pre mode,
where you go into it there we're going to race
like these four tracks.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
No, no online with online use it.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Maybe that's the confusion here and single play there is yet, Yeah,
like the normal that's what's so I haven't played enough yet.
But I'm like, well, it has grand prix, it's got
time trials, and you're telling me when I wasn't in
control last night what I was playing. So if I
was doing online, like, I can't just select those modes
online it it's like strict what's it called? Actually when
you I'm burning it up right, Yeah, but it's like,
(35:07):
that's surprising for sure that you're telling me they're forcing
you into a new format of online versus like giving
you both. If I'm understanding correctly.
Speaker 6 (35:17):
Yeah, so when you go online, you have the knockout
mode you have I'll find the name of the normal mode,
which forces which would be which would be equivalent of
Marracat eight, where you just do you pick a map
and you do three laps of it.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
That's how online works. So it does have that. Yeah,
but to get to the map you have to do
the high right run.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
You still have to drive in that mode to you
on the track immediately.
Speaker 6 (35:45):
No, that's that's and that's why people are saying it
looks boring because the Hogway pots just kind of straight.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
So just for clarity too, because I did online battle mode.
When you're waiting to join, they put you in free
rome like driving. Yeah, but is that what you're describing
because you're matchmaking and then you're using it. No, okay,
and that's a different one. So yeah, like you will
free roam around while you match make, which I think
is fine, but I was wondering if, like you were saying,
(36:11):
that's what was going on. Yeah, I got to check.
Speaker 6 (36:14):
All of this out, so I hope they they change
it a little bit. So the maps are really fun
and it took it actually took me ages to work
out what the frick was going on.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Hope you don't hear this? Can you hear my my
thing in the background?
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Yeah, no, Right, does that look good? Is that a reverse?
Speaker 5 (36:40):
Great? It looks great, miny, it looks great.
Speaker 6 (36:43):
So yeah, this is multiplier you have to knockout to
and you have battle. So battle is just like you
normal with the balloons and stuff like twenty four people.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
It's actually pretty fun.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
There's like a coin collection and there's like a battle mode.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
Just right about I thought I wouldn't wasn't gonna lock
it actually kind of lock it.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
That mode of online battles fun, but go on.
Speaker 6 (37:07):
The heat detection is chalk and chase compared to MARKOT eight.
You actually get like the lag. Like as an Aussie,
when I was playing markat I eight, you know, you
hit someone, it doesn't even let that slow down and
I just like keep going. You're like, okay, I didn't
do anything. The heat detection in this one is so
much better. You can actually aim your shells, you throw
(37:29):
your boomerang like you actually see them crash, you overtake
them like. It actually feels really really good the heat
detection in this one.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
So I like that a lot.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
I like, I mean, I like the twenty four player
chaos of it all. So it is twenty four for
that mode as well.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
Twenty four players.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
Yeah, we didn't get a full match I think when
I matched online, but so yeah, I like that. But
my quick note was like, you know, I love when
you're actually in the same room with people and there's
no they're just huge massive battle Well really yeah battle
reyal mapp basically and actually it's not because it's on
a timer. But anyway, putting all that aside, I didn't
(38:07):
see a solution for like, if just like me, you
Milin and Watts wanted to battle it out, It's like
you have to like play I've.
Speaker 4 (38:14):
Done this probably lobbies yet.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Well, you can play with calm computer and you can
drink computer off. But like I'm saying, it's lame because
the maps are monstrous, which has been a problem in
battle modes before. In other words, if you like that
style and then you go play like Mario Kart sixty four,
you're like, oh, this is is so much fun. You
can play that on Nintendo Online, So compare them and
tell me what you think of that. But the online
(38:39):
battle mode it is, it's it's interesting, it's chaotic.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
This has kind of the interesting pot.
Speaker 6 (38:44):
So this is the sorry for the viewer listeners, But
you get put into like freighterime lobby when you join
a match. However, similar to maricott I, sometimes you'll put
you in a match that's already happening and already ongoing,
but you can't.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
Say them do it.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
I can't spectate to see how close they are, so
I just got to sit here. Way, well, i'd have
to say I can drive around just waiting them to
finish that match. For me to put me into the
into the next game, which is interesting off and just
leave and just go and find one that's already ready
to roll, rather than just kind of sit here.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
You can. Also they introduce a grinding.
Speaker 6 (39:22):
This is kind of like the New Mechanic where you
like Tony Hawk on poles and stuff.
Speaker 5 (39:28):
It's just very much like those videos that when I'm
looking at TikTok, they have clean on the side.
Speaker 6 (39:33):
So look at this. So see these maps. They're connected
to my current cow. So these two options you have
to drive to get to. If I don't want to
drive there, I pick Peach Beach or random and that
would just be three laps of that. But if I
pick these ones, like we're driving three quarters of maps
before we actually get to play.
Speaker 5 (39:55):
You're holding up the bus traffic.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
Yeah man, yeah, So how people drive in Australia.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
Jesus on the wrong They're on the wrong side. See everyone,
Peach Beach.
Speaker 6 (40:08):
We actually get to do three laps of this rather
than haven't drive it anyway. I think that's why people
combining that it looks boring and it took as kind
of a while until someone in chat's like, you're only
doing one lap of the map you've actually selected.
Speaker 4 (40:22):
The rest is you driving to get there, So it
depends on what will be.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
That's weird when sid Prime come.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
Out at the end of the year, supposedly, Yeah, it
really should have been a launch style don't get me
started on that rand.
Speaker 6 (40:40):
Well there's not my day launchwise, right, like it's sparked
the world and the tech demo.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Yeah, people have.
Speaker 5 (40:50):
Been enjoying older games because you have a consistent frame rate,
or ones that have uncapped frame rate can now go
to sixty when before they were you know, a little
bit low thirty.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
So yes, but.
Speaker 5 (41:03):
That's like, yeah, I mean I I didn't buy one.
That one's not for me. I'm playing next year with
dust Blots come out, so.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Don't look me, you know, I would say it's not
a good launch lineup, except for like obviously Mark cart
World is great. I need to play more of it.
I'm interested, and it's you know, it's a it's a
massive Nintendo game. But it's like outside of that, there's
well I'm lucky that yeah, Tears of the Kingdom I waited.
I'm playing, so I'm one of the lucky ones. Sort
of planned my experience, but from a unique launch night perspective,
(41:33):
it I honestly felt. I was like, dude, I of
course I like Marik cart but what else you know,
and there's like nothing else new that's like really unique
and exciting, like this is the only Nintendo developed yeah
game right that launched. That's brand new, I think, which
is super lame for a multi billion dollar which is crazy.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
That's launched window right, it's a lot of.
Speaker 3 (41:57):
Up soon Bananzas July Leachul, I think, yeah, so.
Speaker 4 (42:02):
This is this is Teas of the Kingdom.
Speaker 6 (42:05):
I just put the cartridge gene right and you can
just play it from you switch like your old cartridge
switched normal switch switch one. But as soon as you
load it up, there's a Nintendo switch to edition and
you click on that and that's.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
How you pay for the upgrade.
Speaker 6 (42:18):
If you want the the frames and the graphics and whatever,
switch too, So there is an upgrade fee.
Speaker 3 (42:28):
So yeah, ten bugs us dours anyway, Yeah, yeah, it.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
Was Brother of the Wild, the same thing. I can't remember.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
Yeah, some upgrades are free, but you have to check.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
I don't know which one set free, but Breath and
Wild tier's the Kingdom ten dours for each, so you'd
be twenty hours in if you love both those games
and get full upgrades. And yeah, like honestly, I think
if you are replaying those games, then you own to
switch to you'd be crazy to not. Yeah, it is
what it is by that and uh and play. They
have added some stuff along the way to some of
(43:00):
those as well, I think, but regardless of the value proposition,
like those games look amazing, but that's exactly what I
was getting able to launch, Like I wish that Tears
of the Kingdom had quote unquote you know, just launched
and just came out that feeling right of oh my god.
Instead it's like, oh, finally the new Mario Kart, you know,
and like it's interesting and I've got a lot more
(43:21):
to play and unpacking there, but like you know what
to expect. And I played Mario Kart last night, you know,
I played a lot of Warplayer, to be fair, which
is very different than like what my own is describing.
But I just have been I'm a huge Nintendo fan.
I have been. It's how I got into the industry.
And and maybe it's just the way that console launches
are going. You know, it's hard enough just to pre
(43:43):
order them in the first place. It's exhausting. The excitement
has gone right of lining up, you know, launch night
in general. I know I had a little of it,
but it feels like such a chore. But in other words,
maybe the world has changed and it's like, well, whatever,
you got a new Mario Kart, a new switch, you
should be happy. But she didn't feal unique exciting things.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
And now I can't possibly imagine doing it. But you
used to love it.
Speaker 3 (44:07):
I would have if there was, like you know, it
wasn't easy and other ones. I bought one from best Buy.
I couldn't just be like, oh, I'll just pick it
up there, like weeks ahead of time. I tried to
check and they're like, sorry, you would have to do
that check out. And I wanted to be like, have
you tried to buy a system and launched that? Like
I like everything?
Speaker 5 (44:22):
Actually you could. You could walk in at one pm
in the afternoon and they still had a bunch left
pretty much.
Speaker 1 (44:27):
Yeah, they're actually still in stock, which look available in
my area. They're still in stock, So I could just
walk into a target right now and get one. Apparently,
so I didn't know I was camping.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
They should that's I'll be really curious to see once
we get some sales estimates and stuff. But I mean
they prepared for this moment and in a way waited
right as part of the reason I'm.
Speaker 5 (44:48):
Definitely hoping it's. Yeah, I have being able to have
units to buy is not a bad thing, and it
not being this like, you know, being grabbed by scalpers
and sold by scalopers and you can't find it anywhere else.
Speaker 3 (45:01):
So yeah, so like we we don't have the numbers
in other words, but it's very different than like a
PlayStation five launch in that it was very limited in
the amount that was available of a cutting edge piece
of hardware, et cetera, especially during that time. But now
you have Nintendo has stockpiled. Now we don't know what
that really the number is. But maybe that's why, in
other words, you can't just look at it. I think,
(45:23):
like why it's the same, be like, oh, I don't
think it's selling, Like that's not I don't think switch
To is gonna have any problem selling, especially when they
get to you know, next year, and they start having
like really big hits like a new Mario and whatever
and whenever the new animal crossing is and stuff like that.
It's like it's probably an assured blockbuster across the board here,
but I think, yeah, it wasn't like stoked on launch.
Speaker 6 (45:43):
This feature is probably the most value if you want
to do this and for the reason to maybe get it.
But there's still like pricing, which is the Nintendo Switch
Online stuff. So they've added pretty sure the Nintenna sixty four. Well,
not to correct me on this, I think sixty four
and then Tender GameCube is the new one, or maybe
the sixty four was already there, but like there's some
(46:05):
bangers here like gold Night, Double a zem and Banjok,
Zoe Kannady Snowboarding, Murray K sixty four Old Murray Cut.
But this is like the Tennant Switch plus Online edition.
So if you just got Tennant Switch Online, you can't
get the sixty four games or the GameCube games, but
I can play Super Nintendo anything like pre sixty four.
(46:27):
This is included in your online subscription, So there's like another.
Speaker 5 (46:32):
No.
Speaker 6 (46:32):
Yeah, I think maybe it's just the GameCube one that's new, right,
I believe.
Speaker 4 (46:36):
That new stuff.
Speaker 3 (46:38):
I think there's just focusing on because they launched it
with switch to I think you need to switch to
to use the GameCube stuff too, because fidelit, you know,
all right, but yeah, I think they're just focused on that.
But that was another thing, like there's a you know, yeah,
Zelda silkalb zero GX amazing, please play at zero GX
even if it's old. But I still, I know, I'm
like a party pooper. But it was segad Nintendo, but yeah,
(47:01):
Sega and they did that was actually when they did
the arcade version too. There was a there was a
game Cube arcade chip that was a little more powerful
that used the try Force chip and some other ship.
But yeah, you can find them out there in Japan.
Still f zero in the arcade find it. It's better
looking than like, you know what you see here. But anyway,
I was gonna say the GameCube online stuff, I would
(47:22):
have loved them to, like, as an example. I know
I'm a big Nintendo complainer and a complainer in general,
let's face it, but Wave Race as an example, was
a launch game on GameCube and this is such a
like I'm excited to have switched, but like as a
launch night product, I'm like, you couldn't even be bothered
to put Wave Race and get it ready within the
online about it like that would have been, and it's now.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
You know, it's actually hard to emulate. So I wonder
if even Nintendo's having trouble getting Matt to run properly now.
Speaker 3 (47:51):
They're there, hold just pays. Everything is paced out. I
mean to have more games as well, like, well, you know,
we don't want to put stuff out too fast. They
learned their lesson, like they got to stretch this out
for eight years, and that.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
Game was so good looking on game was a game
Cuber sixty four there four so good.
Speaker 3 (48:11):
It was so blue Storm is stick. Yeah, so but anyway,
I just feel like they're just so focused on Mario
Kart and I get it, but I'm.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
Having for us.
Speaker 5 (48:25):
I'll be playing it next year. When I played dust
Blood it's my dusk Blood machine.
Speaker 6 (48:30):
Yeah, I think it's I think it's very easily. You
can hold off getting the switch to until the lineups
a little bit better, basically unless you're super king for
Marray Cott World. But I will say if you are
a super king Mary Count fan, you might not like
aspects of Murray Cott World like I described. You might
feel like when I was playing, I was like, okay,
(48:51):
Marraycott eight is like the competitive scene Like Murray COOTT
eight is the competitive Marraycott and this is like the
fun Murray count for your kid at the moment.
Speaker 1 (49:02):
About Mario Kart, I haven't really cared about Mario Kart
since like the first one came out and then the
ten to sixty four, and that was just because I
was playing couch couch like battle mode against my friends.
But man, Metroid looks awesome. I'm really looking forward to that.
And I'll be honest with you, the the Donkey Kong
game looks pretty good.
Speaker 3 (49:22):
Yeah, I'm excited about Bonanza. I think it'll be fun.
I think it's an easy seven or eight without playing.
I'm like, dude, it's gonna be fun.
Speaker 1 (49:29):
The Switch has really become my favorite console for just
like kind of indie titles, like being able to like, yeah,
you know, play on the portable title. You know, the
Steam Deck is great for that too, But the Steam
Deck weighs like, uh, like two bricks, and this the
Switch is like, you know, half a brick?
Speaker 3 (49:45):
Do you have switch to yet?
Speaker 1 (49:46):
No? Not yet?
Speaker 3 (49:48):
Oh okay, I keep missing that. But it's heavier though, dude,
you'll be surprised that you're like, oh, like you'll know.
I mean, it's quite a bit heavier than I'd have
to look at the difference. It's heavier.
Speaker 4 (50:00):
Like painting your palms, you know, from holding it, just like.
Speaker 3 (50:05):
But it is worth it.
Speaker 5 (50:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (50:09):
The the screen is really nice though, and so yeah,
value proposition though, I think it's it's great if you
have stuff to play. And I was gonna say, I
think there's two more use cases to just make sure
to put out there. My own basic already did it,
which is, yeah, depending on the age and how many
games you play, like probably an awesome system for kids,
almost certainly, and you know, I don't think there's any
question about that. I think the other use cases that
(50:30):
we play so many games on PC, cutting Edge, PS
five even PS four, pro et cetera. But there's a
lot of people who they only had a switch or
they only had a PS four, you know, and like
so being able to play Elder Ring hopefully you know
runs the Elder Ring is not out yet, but I
was gonna say it's coming soon. And then you've got
(50:50):
you know, stuff like Cyberpunk, which is total and if
you've never played those and now you can take it
on the road. It's like a very you know those
are the use cases.
Speaker 6 (51:00):
Is one hundred and twenty Australian dollars on that what
it's a seventy do game.
Speaker 3 (51:04):
It is two games to be.
Speaker 4 (51:06):
Fa Dale say to your ride, isn't it?
Speaker 3 (51:08):
It includes Phantom Liberty. It's the ultimate edition.
Speaker 1 (51:10):
How much is Mario Kart for you guys?
Speaker 4 (51:13):
Uh, I don't know. I got it in a bundle.
I don't know the I have to have a look
at the.
Speaker 6 (51:21):
I have to have a look at the Nintendo store
to see how much Mario Cut is by itself.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
But that's a lot of money for old game.
Speaker 6 (51:27):
Well, so normally in Australia, one hundred dollars is our
full price game.
Speaker 4 (51:31):
You know, you guys have sixty US I think is.
Speaker 1 (51:33):
Yeah, you look up Mario it's eighty dollars here and
the recently games increase in price to seventy from sixty here.
Speaker 6 (51:42):
Okay, Maria Gott is one hundred and ninety ninety five
Aussie dollars.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
So Cyberpunk's going for that Mario Kart prime pricing.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
So Cyberpunk's the same. That's interesting because Cyberpunk is cheaper
here by ten bucks, and I was old, I'm right, yeah,
I know, doesn't care, do.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
You intend us? That's the price for that. I would
have imagined CD project rights, that's that price.
Speaker 5 (52:09):
I don't know who knows Nintendo is a dictatorship.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
Anyway. Yeah, I'm looking forward to playing uh Mario car
a little more. Like MYLN has been like just play
by myself, go online, And I think on that front,
it's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 6 (52:26):
Because I haven't because I think my first multiple hours.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
Was like.
Speaker 6 (52:33):
Why are we going in a straight line all the time?
Like where's the map? I was just saying like, okay,
it's a bit chaotic fun. But after like five hours
of dripping in a straight line, and then I kept going, okay,
this is better, and I didn't realize it was just
when I was getting to the end of the map
we actually did a proper lap. I was like, okay,
I can see the shortcuts now, like this is fine.
Speaker 4 (52:54):
In the games, tracks over done. I get.
Speaker 5 (52:59):
The one thing that I do like that I've seen
from Mario Kart is when you're playing with friends using
that Nintendo face camp thing, yeah yeah, and they get
hit by a shell and their face starts spinning in
a circle.
Speaker 1 (53:11):
Cool.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
Yeah, I do love when they do stuff like that. Yeah,
it's funny.
Speaker 5 (53:19):
Okay, all right, stay to play. Can I go in
order of announcements on what?
Speaker 3 (53:26):
So many announcements?
Speaker 4 (53:28):
So many you bring them up up?
Speaker 5 (53:31):
First of all, we got to see well frand might
want to talk about Lumin's arise. So you're pretty excited
about that quick mention.
Speaker 3 (53:41):
Yeah, okay, they from the makers of like Res and
like old school music games and all that. If you
never played Luminista was on PSP, just a really cool,
like beat driven game. Oh I love Luminist series. So
it's been a while, I think since we've got to
remaster or a new one.
Speaker 1 (53:57):
I did not know that.
Speaker 4 (54:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
Q Entertainments is a Gucci and all. Remember the remember
the Res there's like a res vibrator attachment famously Yeah
those people, but no, they're just legendary. Oh and then
touches effect, right he also did that. I forget if.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Ye touch effect, it's.
Speaker 1 (54:22):
Just pieces add up like oh of course, but I
did not ye, So this is.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
Yeah, you just get into zones in that game where
like you're so like locked into the beat and it goes, yeah,
goes in a left to right like kind of beat
puzzle thing. It's been a while since I played it.
That's all of the games they make you do, truly
conn of zone Out. I mean, I hate to say it,
(54:54):
but I think some of these folks that love these
games like they're yeah, like a little ad to the experience,
if you know what I mean. But it is great,
like people just zone out.
Speaker 1 (55:05):
It made a Tetris effect VR for the PlayStation four.
That was sick.
Speaker 4 (55:12):
Man, it was amazing, Okay, NICs.
Speaker 5 (55:18):
Next up was Pragmata. This was not because this game
was announced in twenty twenty. Yes, it was supposed to
come out in twenty twenty two. This is Capcom's like
basically Capcom's next big action game, like brand new franchise
Capcom action game, fran looking game, sci fi sci fi game. Yeah.
(55:46):
I don't know what's going on with the game except
there's like a robot child and she shoots lasers and
she's on the back of an astronaut.
Speaker 7 (55:55):
All right, Yeah, like back Out, you get a little
bit of get yeah, a little bit of the death
stranding like Astronauts always with the backpack baby thing with
strand from this for sure, yeah, just that weird sci
fi and then the backpack with the child and the
big but any like yeah, big suit like that.
Speaker 3 (56:13):
But I just love to see new IP. Yeah, fun
interesting action adventure from Capcom. And they had shown it
some five years ago and people thought it was maybe done.
You know, it looks cool.
Speaker 5 (56:28):
Yeah, so this was the way and the way that
they've announced like delays or dates or stuff is like
the girl writing on a piece of paper. So they
did a pretty cool thing at the end when they
were like twenty twenty two sorry crossed out, and then
it was like twenty twenty six, it's real XD, which
was a pretty cool Uh.
Speaker 4 (56:47):
It was.
Speaker 5 (56:48):
It was a fun little thing for people who've been
following the development of it. But apparently it's coming out
next year and they said it's real, so we'll see.
It's exciting because it's a it's a new action Capcom game.
Speaker 3 (57:02):
It's Capcom only Cooks now. So years ago I think
we were like, oh, yeah, they're making some good moves,
and now you're like, they don't miss so I.
Speaker 1 (57:12):
Can't wait a big old walk and they're just th
them constantly.
Speaker 3 (57:15):
Yes, yeah, serving them hot.
Speaker 1 (57:21):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (57:21):
The next game was Romeo is a dead man. And
this was probably this was the first announcement that I
did not know about that I was like, I am
se in with this game. So this is by the
guys Suit of fifty one, who they've made games like
seven No More Heroes, Kill seven, Yeah, yeah, all those
(57:44):
those kind of games. And it starts out with this
this trailer that's like, oh, this art style is kind
of cool, and then it goes into like a three
D just action game. Like the art style, the style
in general is so cool, Like this is what of
those games where you see and you're like, it's got
it's got a very specific vibe to it. But the
(58:05):
action just looks really fun. The art looks really fun.
It just I'm so I'm so into this game.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
Yeah that Pseuda fifty one and yeah Grasshopper, I think
it is is like there's just crazy kind of which
is yeah, like for real.
Speaker 6 (58:22):
The cut saye Addstall is so different from the gameplay.
Speaker 3 (58:28):
It's yeah, but I don't it's because it hearkens I mean,
there's probably more to it, but if you go look
up Killer seven as an example, like it hearkens back
to like this style they developed and probably anime influences
obviously and stuff, but I think that's where it comes from.
And I wonder if the game has any of these
like cut scenes built in. I don't know. I think
(58:48):
it seems like.
Speaker 5 (58:50):
Further on in the trailer where they should actually show
the character in like different types of genres of games
and different types of cut scenes. So I wonder if
they're doing a thing that I've actually seen a couple
of games do now, where they're putting they're making a game,
and then they're putting like a bunch of different genres
in the game. So you have a section where it's
like a where it's like.
Speaker 4 (59:10):
A yeah, I see what thing.
Speaker 5 (59:13):
Yeah, So they're kind of mixing art styles, mixing genres,
and I just think it just looks so cool.
Speaker 6 (59:19):
Ito, Anything anything that's not a black and white, black
and white.
Speaker 4 (59:27):
Pan and zoom cuts on, I'm all for, you know.
Speaker 1 (59:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (59:32):
And it's funny because I've seen because we had this
push towards like hyperrealism, right and try, let's get the
most realistic graphic. Let's spend twenty years making the most
hyper realistic, super high fidelity game, and now it kind
of seems like you're having a pushback of people doing
more like very specific artistic games. They're messing around with
(59:52):
different art styles. They're not trying to be realistic at all.
They're trying to do like cool art styles. I love that.
Speaker 2 (59:59):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
How much He's a dead man? Is this strange? Toddle?
Speaker 5 (01:00:02):
Romeo is a dead man? Yeah, and Juliette is in there,
so it's something to do.
Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
With Romeo and juliet Stock Cross love is.
Speaker 5 (01:00:10):
That's come in twenty twenty six. Next we have Silent
Hill f which looks banging amazing. I'm all about this.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
It looks great.
Speaker 5 (01:00:23):
It just looks it looks really good. Yeah, it's scary,
but also you are a Japanese schoolgirl fighting sexy dolls,
So I mean, how bad can it?
Speaker 4 (01:00:36):
This might be.
Speaker 5 (01:00:38):
Maybe the scariest, Actually it might.
Speaker 4 (01:00:40):
Be the worst.
Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
Does anybody else have Discord video chateilet.
Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
I'm definitely getting some delay.
Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
Hopefully can catch you up. But I was going to say, uh,
this might be the first siund how I go like
really in foro. Uh, it's just so.
Speaker 6 (01:01:01):
It does.
Speaker 4 (01:01:03):
Just this out of men.
Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
Watch it like like watching this part, I'm like they
know exactly what this audience wants so like, look at
how like crazy, sick and twisted this looks, but it
has like just so much down. I love the japan influence,
and you know then being a Japanese developer, I just
I cannot wait to see this one.
Speaker 5 (01:01:21):
Oh just say, I'm so excited for it because, like
with Resident Evil and Silent Hill, like both of these
games are made by Japanese studios, but they went with
a very like we want to make American. We want
to make like an American game with like Rebecca Brad Chris.
We're making like an American game as a Japanese studio.
(01:01:42):
And this feels very much so like we're gonna make
a Japanese game. It's all inspired by like and everything
moves weird, and.
Speaker 6 (01:01:56):
I'm so this is gonna be one of those feelings
where I'm reluctily a playing it because i want to
have the experience.
Speaker 4 (01:02:02):
But I'm almost like, it's just.
Speaker 5 (01:02:04):
Not you got to start singing milin. You just got
to sing while you're while you're running around the areas.
It makes it better, it helps you.
Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
Yeah, yeah, and I misspoke to I was like the
publisher being Konami of course is Japanese. But actually I
didn't realize that Neo Bards is a Hong Kong and
it looks like China based developer.
Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
So I'm happy that Konami is back at least publishing
games like they seem to be opened up their licenses
to their properties to like other developers and then publishing them.
Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
They kind of had to because they blew it up though,
you know so, but but I also think it's the
right strategy.
Speaker 5 (01:02:41):
So this so it's interesting with the development of Silent
Hill f because this is they're a Taiwanese studio and
they worked with Capcom on Resident Evil two, three, seven
and Reverse so I don't believe they are the original
Silent Hill. I'll have to double check that, but yeah,
(01:03:03):
these guys worked on they worked on Resident Evil stuff,
so with Capcom right and they're working with a They're
working with a very well known writer, Japanese writer to
write the game. It's a pretty cool collabor.
Speaker 4 (01:03:21):
Mm hmm. It does.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
It's good.
Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
It's a good reminder from Bria that they work with
so many studios that have been for so long now,
where before it was kind of more internalized way back
in the.
Speaker 5 (01:03:32):
Day, and this is coming out September twenty fifth. We
we have the release date of Silence.
Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
Yeah, when is this game?
Speaker 5 (01:03:42):
Time's going fast. When we're at Christmas and I'm like,
it's gonna be summer soon, and I'm like, summer, it's
almost Christmas.
Speaker 4 (01:03:49):
It's crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:03:52):
Next this might Bria. Are you interested in the next one? Bloodstained?
The Scarlet Engagement?
Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
Very actually interested this. I love the first blood Stain. Actually,
there's like three blood Stained games. There's the one that
was like the main Bloodstained game that was like three
D graphics. Then they made two like pseudo ne e
s games that were amazing. They were actually I think
better than like the big one. But I really liked
the big one, so I'm looking forward to this one too.
(01:04:19):
And this looks like it's a little more advanced as
far as like graphics and combat and all that stuff goes.
So yeah, definitely looking This is the guy who used
to make the Castlevania games, right it is?
Speaker 5 (01:04:32):
Yeah? Yeah, blood blood Stain in Castlevania are very very linked.
First when I first saw it, I was like new
Castlevania and I was like, oh, new Bloodstack.
Speaker 4 (01:04:43):
It's something God didn't Actually I miss this one. I
actually hadn't seen this one. Yeah, it's almost like the same,
similar to uh, what was that?
Speaker 6 (01:04:57):
It almost like shitting cell shitting what was that game
that we played previously? That the Barbarian one? The Soul's
Lock almost seems a little bit like that when you're.
Speaker 5 (01:05:08):
Yeah, yeah, it's cool. It's got a cool art style
and Palmbat looks very fun. So I'm always down to
check it out. Definitely down.
Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
Yeah, the first one watching. They'll have this one figured
out when it watch.
Speaker 6 (01:05:22):
Just right off the Kazan. Sorry, I was seeing of Kazan.
The Oddstar reminds you of Kazan.
Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
Oh, I could see that.
Speaker 4 (01:05:29):
Yeah, like lots of.
Speaker 6 (01:05:30):
Cell shining in, but actually the background and like graphics
like really like painted as well.
Speaker 1 (01:05:37):
Yeah, it looks nice.
Speaker 5 (01:05:39):
There's a lot of cool stuff, cool art styles. Twenty
twenty six.
Speaker 1 (01:05:43):
Yep, no, friend, I know you're a Metroid guy. Do
you like Cassabini games as well?
Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
Oh yeah, I just don't have time for like this
style and those as much anymore. But oh yeah, so
it looks dope.
Speaker 5 (01:05:59):
And Digimon fans, let's move. It's coming out October third,
October third this year. It's it's coming out they're actually
doing some cool stuff with the art as well.
Speaker 6 (01:06:17):
Did we learn anything else about it?
Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
Like?
Speaker 4 (01:06:21):
What kind of game?
Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
Is it? Rip off?
Speaker 4 (01:06:28):
You just offended some very passionate people.
Speaker 5 (01:06:34):
Called did you story time Stranger? So some timey whimy
shwiinmymimmies see this cool art stuff going on, and I
was like, great, bandy namco and the regular stuff, but uh,
I appreciate the.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
Going on.
Speaker 4 (01:06:52):
So it still like like classical term baseball looks of it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
Yeah, there's some of these. I think in this series.
You can play some stuff on PlayStation and I think
plus right now, maybe I think I saw so if
you wanted to like check it out, you could do
it as part of a subscription if you got one.
Speaker 4 (01:07:07):
I think.
Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
GM, did you do the cool art?
Speaker 5 (01:07:20):
Next up, we had Final Fantasy Tactics is getting a remake,
and this is like they're they're like, guys, does look
really nice?
Speaker 1 (01:07:32):
Are they doing that like three D two D thing
that they did for the other Square Nix remix? No,
this this looks totally different.
Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
No, it's just like a super high palish yeah, saster
kind of approach, isn't it only fully voice acted? Now?
Speaker 5 (01:07:47):
As well, they've added voice acting for yeah, which is
pretty hard.
Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
It's been a long time.
Speaker 6 (01:07:57):
But it sounds being in Bloody everything racial, He's in
everything the new Baker did.
Speaker 5 (01:08:02):
I heard a voice and I was like, that sounds
like Dionn for Final Fantasy sixteen. So I wouldn't be
surprised if they just grabbed like Final Fantasy voice actors
and like, you.
Speaker 6 (01:08:09):
Want to do some tactics who've worked with you before,
would you like more work?
Speaker 5 (01:08:16):
So it comes with two versions. It comes with like
like the new the new shiny version with the voice acting,
and I think the story is like a little bit different.
And then it also comes with like the classic sprites
and no voice acting and yeah, yeah yeah both is.
Speaker 1 (01:08:34):
This game has always been so well spoken of, but
I've never played it, so I think I'll probably pick
this up and try it out.
Speaker 5 (01:08:40):
Yeah, comes out of September thirtieth, so also very soon.
Next was a game that I need Myelind to play.
Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
Okay, baby, all.
Speaker 3 (01:08:56):
Yeah, we've seen that, isn't there.
Speaker 5 (01:08:58):
I assume he's an ausie or.
Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
Is Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:09:02):
He's Naus in there, and he's got a dumpy and
he's got sweat in his crack.
Speaker 4 (01:09:08):
Yeah, kind of looks like.
Speaker 5 (01:09:16):
Baby Steps is a game where you're you're walking walking
across an area. But obviously you can't just have it
be easy walking because that would make the game boring.
So you have to like individually control your your legs
and get to different locations, and it's just like a
really funny, silly kind of game.
Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
He gets fell off the cliff.
Speaker 6 (01:09:40):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the whole thing is he needs
to take a ship, like the whole narrative.
Speaker 4 (01:09:47):
Maybe that's why he's walking like that. You just sold.
Speaker 6 (01:09:52):
This looks like it's obviously like similar to What's is
only up? What's the what's the one when you gotta
climb the bloody Yeah, it's like that, you know, I'm
assuming it is that you gotta walk up this mountain
try to.
Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
Get the top to get the toilet.
Speaker 2 (01:10:15):
I think something like that.
Speaker 5 (01:10:19):
It's like some good fun. Yeah, Baby Steps next I died.
I think I died that day.
Speaker 1 (01:10:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:10:29):
So it starts off and like right away looks like
a Team Ninja game and they're like the Spirit Vane
and I'm like that's neo. But I wasn't thinking it
was going to be a new Neil because they said,
I don't think we're making anymore Neo. So it's like,
is it like a remake or is it like a
side thing? This is Neo three. They just announced. Oh,
(01:10:51):
by the way, we're making Neo three. Oh and by
the way, there's a demo that's like eight hours long
and you can play it right now.
Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
Oh it's out now, it launched.
Speaker 5 (01:11:02):
Yeah, I still haven't finished it. I played eight hours.
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
This looks like a pretty big graphical upgrade.
Speaker 5 (01:11:09):
Huh so, yeah, it definitely looks like Neo right, Like
you can tell it's a Team Ninja game, but the
graphics are very noticeably better because you even have you
have like similar enemies, like there'll be some some of
the same Yokai and stuff, and they you can tell
that it's a graphical upgrade.
Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
Oh yeah, massively it looks great. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:11:30):
Oh man, so it feels great. It's only on PS
five the demo, so just be aware. But you can't
wish list it on Steam right now. So I do
believe it's going to be a simultaneous release. It's just
that PlayStation has the the demo early. So this game
(01:11:51):
the way that they're kind of switching things up if
you've played Neo, it feels very familiar. You've got a
lot of familiar stuff. But they're giving you a samurai
character and a ninja character to play, and you can
them at any point, so the samurai can parry. They
use heavier weapons like the old dachi and the spear,
(01:12:12):
and then the ninja has stuff like the nijitsu. They're
all about dodging and they're about like the fast weapons.
Speaker 4 (01:12:20):
So this is what theft.
Speaker 5 (01:12:26):
Yeah, maybe this is what they were going for.
Speaker 6 (01:12:28):
Because that sounds the very similar and stuff like that's
what you have a ninja in one and then you
have a the.
Speaker 4 (01:12:38):
This is way better than that.
Speaker 5 (01:12:41):
It's it's incredible.
Speaker 4 (01:12:42):
It's there's difficulty, like people, is it is it? We're not.
We're not gonna call it a solves like are we?
Speaker 5 (01:12:52):
Like it has become its own thing now because it's
like a very fast, flashy uh. You haves, you lose
your souls. You there's there's bosses, you have, there's limited healing,
like you have all of the the same stuff that
even the scaling of like strength and all that stuff
(01:13:15):
is He's very si because I was.
Speaker 6 (01:13:17):
Gonna say the combat always reminds you more of an
action apergy like Devil might Cry than it does of well,
you know stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:13:23):
You know, playing.
Speaker 5 (01:13:25):
The Ninja is very similar to like what I think
Ninja Guide it the New Ninja Guide. It might feel
like it's like very fast, flashy, flippy, lots of cool moves.
Speaker 4 (01:13:36):
Yeah, maybe it's not Miami. I think I think a
lot was Definitely.
Speaker 5 (01:13:42):
It's a hard it's a hard game, and it's really hard.
It's really hard initially because the builds go really deep.
So when you start making deep builds, you can be
like crazy op and do nutty things. But obviously when
you're starting out, you barely have many skills unlocked. You
don't really have a build going. It's just you using
your limited knowledge of the tools that you've been given.
(01:14:04):
And Team Ninja is very much so like, so we've
given you one system, would you like fifteen more? And
we go, sure, I'll try and remember all of these systems.
You know, it's actually really funny. So because you have
it's one character, but it's basically like two characters. A
lot of people when they play the Neo games, they're like, oh,
(01:14:24):
the loot, there's just so much loot. You get loot
all the time and the rarity of loot and the
stats on the lute, and there's so much loot. So
they made it to where you now kit out two characters.
So it's really funny because it seems like they were like, yeah,
so they're like too much loot, so we gave you
two characters to put your loot into it. It's really funny. Yeah,
(01:14:50):
so you're getting Obviously they use different weapons, but they
also use different armors, so all of like the Samurai
type of armor goes on the Samurai and then just
type of armages on that Ninja. Oh, you still have
spar You have the Guardian spirits that you can use
that give you status and you can turn into them,
so living weapon is there. You can also get spirit
cores from Yokai and use their abilities.
Speaker 4 (01:15:13):
Are some bloody good, mate.
Speaker 5 (01:15:16):
It's real good. And it's smooth. It's smooth as butter.
Speaker 4 (01:15:19):
This is an old smooth. It looks real smooth.
Speaker 5 (01:15:23):
It's real good. It's like if you like actually know
what they did as well. They've took things the things
that people liked, and Riiseronin and Wolong and Neo and
put it all together. They've just like double tripled down
on all the stuff that people really like in the
Mountain early twenty twenty six, which, knowing Team Ninja, that
(01:15:43):
means March because they love they're obsessed. They're obsessed with March.
Speaker 4 (01:15:47):
Wow, like this far out that's kind of crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:15:52):
It is kind of crazy. Yeah, So the demo is
so they're not doing the like you go on a
map and you select a stage and it's a very
kind of linear stage. Now they're doing like wide open areas.
So it's not open world. I don't think you're going
between each thing and it's just completely open, seamless. But
(01:16:14):
I guess you could think of it as in previous
neo as you would select multiple stages to fill out
like that whole stage. This one is more so like
it's one big stage and then you can kind of
like go to the next one. So they give you
one big stage which took me I think five hours
to get through. Was this one big thing. Uh, and
(01:16:34):
then they get there like oh yeah, now we have
this challenge level and there's a whole other challenge level
which is another level. So there's so much, there's someone,
there's so much, there's so much concept.
Speaker 6 (01:16:46):
It's a twitchad said it's a limited time. Damn as,
it's gonna.
Speaker 5 (01:16:52):
Go away on the eighteenth.
Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
Oh wow, not fast, yeah eighteenth.
Speaker 6 (01:17:00):
Like getting a little taste of a great game and
then just just nuke it until it comes out.
Speaker 4 (01:17:04):
I do like that a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:17:05):
I think it makes sense for an alpha demo to
not keep it around for super long, because obviously the
game is still changing a lot, to just be like, hey,
we made something you can play for our announcement. Yeah,
it's really good. If you like Neo, guess what it's
more Neo. They tripled quadrupled down on Neo. It's flashy
and cool and feels awesome and you can do they do.
(01:17:26):
Enemies do red attacks on you and you press R
two and it switches between the characters whilst breaking the enemy,
and it's it's cool, really cool, great.
Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
Good sands we got waiting for our crators.
Speaker 6 (01:17:40):
This is exactly what I was thinking, right, I got
a taste of our Creators and it went away, and
I want more. Actually, as much as I like hate that,
I do. You love playing a good game and then
it we're being removed and then just waiting for it
to release.
Speaker 4 (01:17:55):
I think that's great.
Speaker 6 (01:17:56):
Like, I mean, it sucks as a counting credit sometimes,
but I think it gives you the feel and the
joy of waiting for a game.
Speaker 4 (01:18:03):
And sometimes we don't always get that.
Speaker 6 (01:18:05):
So I like when you get to play a demo, like, oh,
I actually really can't wait for this game to come
out now. I think it just kind of unlocks the
nostalgia of games for me, like waiting, waiting, waiting for
Christmas time, waiting for go to the video shop to
get the game I want to play.
Speaker 5 (01:18:21):
You know, it's nice, and this one is. It's They're
probably going to do another demo where it's out on
PC as well. So next up we had some VR stuff. Briy,
you were excited on any of these Viera things I
didn't want.
Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
Yeah, Thief, and I thought it made a lot of sense.
I didn't get a close look at it, but I
was like, that's a good idea for a vier game.
Speaker 6 (01:18:46):
Is My twin brother played so much Thief in our adolescence,
absolutely loved it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
I didn't really play that much.
Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
But I don't even know if it is from you know,
IDAs Montreal and all that. I have no idea. I
just quickly looked at it.
Speaker 1 (01:19:04):
I mean, all these games fundamentally kind of look the
same because you know, they're in the dark and like
some kind of medios.
Speaker 4 (01:19:12):
I mean, they's some great guys speaking. I just handle
I can't handle the it makes me too motion sick.
Speaker 1 (01:19:17):
Was the last one four that was like a while
ago down I would say ten years.
Speaker 3 (01:19:22):
Yeah, I mean they just haven't been making them. I'm
pretty sure that was like it's just that's been.
Speaker 4 (01:19:26):
It was any other? Was it just something else?
Speaker 5 (01:19:32):
There was also Tides of Tomorrow, which is like uh
water game.
Speaker 4 (01:19:40):
Oh yeah, yeah yeah, I mean that one reminded me
of Avatar. The one is out the one.
Speaker 5 (01:19:46):
Really I don't know. It's a multiplayer VR Tides of Tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:19:52):
Oh yeah, no, I thought that looked neat. That's the
one where like, right, you can I don't know how
it works where you play another so in the multiplayer world,
it's this one right Watts where you'll play part of
their story which influences you know, how you're.
Speaker 6 (01:20:07):
You know, I was singing to something else that reminded
you of Avatar. No, no, it doesn't, I don't know
that was that was like, I really it must have
been something else. I really brought water Era was like
getting you know, the water avatar.
Speaker 4 (01:20:22):
I was like, that's kind of interesting.
Speaker 5 (01:20:24):
Was it Astrobot? Because that's up next? Yeah, got another
free update, free.
Speaker 3 (01:20:32):
Update levels I think coming.
Speaker 5 (01:20:34):
Yeah, apparently it brings the total to ninety planets.
Speaker 3 (01:20:38):
It already had quite a bit in it, but they
have added. Yeah, they had like the speed run levels,
then they had some holiday level stuff, and now they
have this I.
Speaker 5 (01:20:46):
Don't know anymore between and you'll say, bo to the
game free yep.
Speaker 1 (01:20:52):
Wow, hears how to do like your advertising, how to
play this console game and make people love it?
Speaker 4 (01:21:04):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (01:21:05):
Aster Butt started off as the free installed the tech
demo on.
Speaker 1 (01:21:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:21:14):
Next was See of Remnants. I don't really know what
kind of game this is. It looks like the third
person See If Thieves, but like different.
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
Yeah, it was some kind of pirating adventure game, right.
Speaker 5 (01:21:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:21:32):
I looked at it.
Speaker 3 (01:21:33):
I thought it looked okay, but I didn't. I haven't
played any of their games before.
Speaker 5 (01:21:36):
And apparently heurn based RPG, so oh.
Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
Really, I thought I saw action in there. I don't
think it happened a number of things, but.
Speaker 4 (01:21:48):
About this game was See If Remnants. It's like Remnant too.
Hearn based.
Speaker 5 (01:21:58):
That's what it says on the Steam thing. But that's
also like user generated, so maybe not. But I did
see something that looked term based in there as well.
Speaker 1 (01:22:08):
It looks almost like Monkey Island, like it does.
Speaker 5 (01:22:12):
It looks very Monkey Island. Yeah it does. Yeah, let's see.
It's a visually rich ocean adventure RPG. As a puppet
folks sailor seeking lost memories, your brave dynamic sees battle
strange monsters, build your fleet, bond with three hundred plus companions,
and shape the evolving pirate city.
Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
Yeah. Like, I think it has some survival building elements
and stuff that. It just seems like they have a
number of things going on that. I was like, what's
the game.
Speaker 4 (01:22:40):
Yearly it's an MMO as well.
Speaker 5 (01:22:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:22:47):
I don't know. It's a full Maybe there is a
PlayStation blog on it if you want to learn more,
it would be a good way to frame it.
Speaker 5 (01:22:54):
Yeah, yeah, it's a It was like, it looks cool,
no idea, what's going on?
Speaker 1 (01:22:58):
Well?
Speaker 5 (01:22:58):
Yeah, it's cool, man, I like the like the style
looks good. Next was sort of the sea. Maybe this
one is cold? Made you think of Avatar potentially sort
of the Sea is by the people who made Journey
and Absu uh those guys, and it looks very much
like those games. Uh huh wait this is coming out.
(01:23:20):
I don't think August nineteenth did they not do Journey.
Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
But it looks like it. It's that it looks like sure, but.
Speaker 8 (01:23:27):
They right, it is by generally it just came up
on but but yeah, like it.
Speaker 5 (01:23:32):
Has behind yeah and Jenny, Yeah, absolutely, the Pathless and Journey.
Speaker 4 (01:23:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:23:37):
Yeah, it looks like all of those games.
Speaker 2 (01:23:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:23:39):
Oh, maybe it was somebody had.
Speaker 4 (01:23:41):
Left the artists, not the develop probably wrong, that.
Speaker 3 (01:23:45):
Might be why, Oh that's what it was. They had
left worked on it. But in it it's totally that
type of experiential game.
Speaker 4 (01:23:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:23:52):
Yeah, all those games. If you haven't played those kind
of games, they are very much so like trying to
give you a fairly short, really cool experience. So in
the case of Journey, you actually met up with a
random player in game. You didn't know their name, you
didn't know anything about them, and they tried to do
this thing where it's just like it felt like a
genuine happening upon a person in a game in this
(01:24:14):
this world, which was really cool. And then Opsu was underwater,
which was terrifying, but there's nothing, nothing hurts you. It's
just very like you're experiencing this super cool world. So
they do those kind of games.
Speaker 3 (01:24:31):
Ye's cool.
Speaker 5 (01:24:33):
Yeah, their games always look cool.
Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Honestly great switch to game.
Speaker 4 (01:24:38):
It would it would row.
Speaker 5 (01:24:42):
Next was Double O seven. I've definitely got copyright for that.
It is being made by the Hipman devs, which is cool.
Speaker 1 (01:24:56):
Yeah. Huge, That's the only thing. That's the only reason
I'm excited for this game. It's like the Hitman guy's
got the Double of seven license? Are you kidding me? Like,
what are they going to do with this?
Speaker 5 (01:25:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:25:10):
It's one of those stories. Wasn't this born out of
the Embracer stuff? I can't remember?
Speaker 1 (01:25:15):
No, they got it's they got let go by Square,
but they were allowed to keep the Hitman license. It
was really weird, Like.
Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
Well maybe that part, yes, but I mean the the
double second part. I thought maybe it was Embracer originally.
Speaker 4 (01:25:28):
Oh really, Okay, regardless.
Speaker 3 (01:25:30):
I'm probably way off. I'm head spinning this week. But uh,
it's one of those stories like Sam braw where you're like, man,
if so and so did this game franchise that would
be such a perfect match, and then it happened and
you're like, holy crap, and trailer show. Yeah, but this
trailer is amazing and obviously they're working hand in hand
(01:25:51):
with the Bond group. I forget the name of the
the license holder is and all that Bond folks, the
Bond family, but man, it just looks good. And they
even have the actor Patrick. He's like the new Dexter
or whatever, right, but some Irish actor is the main
like new Bond in the game. And I'm like, this
looks sick, and this is.
Speaker 5 (01:26:12):
Like a like a it's like the beginning of James Bond, right,
It's like following him in his early career, just.
Speaker 6 (01:26:17):
Before he's got his double seven losses or whatever, before
he's got his liscense to kill.
Speaker 5 (01:26:23):
He's still killing, but unlicensed pen license running.
Speaker 1 (01:26:30):
Down the world.
Speaker 3 (01:26:36):
It looks amazing, though.
Speaker 4 (01:26:38):
Yeah, I just wonder how much of that was in
a while.
Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
I wonder how much of that hit Man magic it'll capture,
or if they'll have to like treat the license with
a little more respect, you know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (01:26:49):
I think I might have a bit more action than
the hit Man, but I'm sure there's gonna be a
bunch of stealth missions.
Speaker 5 (01:26:55):
The sneaking looked very hip man like. As soon as
he started sneaking, it was like.
Speaker 3 (01:26:59):
Well, yeah, and I mean it's it's the hit Man engine, right,
and so the you're I think, if you've played it, man,
you're not gonna be able to unsea hit Man when
you play this. It's more that that's what you want
within the Bond experience. But hopefully they nail those like
really big action moments and they show you like they
have driving you know, like action moments and all this stuff,
(01:27:20):
probably boat stuff, and so I love boats, super excited,
love for good boat boat stuff. But that's sometime in
twenty twenty six. I guess I don't know if we
know when.
Speaker 5 (01:27:31):
Yeah, I don't don't think we know when. And then
before we get to the announcement, the brier pooped his pants.
Pete his pants, so maybe he slapped a bear on
the ass about yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:27:43):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:27:43):
We did get a little tease that Ghosts of Yote
gameplay is coming next month.
Speaker 1 (01:27:48):
Oh so Deep Dive that game's coming out this year.
Speaker 5 (01:27:51):
Game played Deep Dive. Yeah, je, it've been quiet crazy,
I know.
Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
In October I think, yeah, no crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:28:01):
Marvel Polkan fight.
Speaker 1 (01:28:06):
Keep going that. What I heard the name of this
and I was like, oh, this must be some kind
of like fan game like like Massive yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:28:15):
With like Arc Systems works, and we're like, oh, I
do Guilty here, and then they show like a Captain
America shield and you're like huh because for context, Marvel
works with Capcom on like their their tag team.
Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
Like it's like yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:28:32):
It's Marvel and Capcom. So to have this be Arc
Systems are making a new tag team Marvel property. The
fighting a community has lost their mind.
Speaker 1 (01:28:44):
It's so weird because the Capcom Marvel versus Capcom games
were like the you know, the team based like tag
fighting games. And then the fact that our system Works
got a hold of this license, they're like, yeah, we'll
just keep it a tag but instead of three players,
you get four bitches.
Speaker 5 (01:29:02):
Before it's before like the art looks.
Speaker 1 (01:29:07):
Fantastic and like Art system Works has been knocking it
out of the park with Guilty gear and with that
Dragon Ball game that they released now quite a while ago.
I mean, this looks awesome.
Speaker 9 (01:29:19):
This looks awesome, it looks incredible, and we yeah, it's
it's actually Sony is helping develop this, but uh, it
is coming out on PC.
Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
As well, so it's not just and Sony's making a
fight stick for this.
Speaker 5 (01:29:39):
They are because they announced it early on and everyone
was like, why would I why would I need a
PlayStation flight stick? And then they're like check this.
Speaker 4 (01:29:49):
Yah.
Speaker 1 (01:29:51):
Yeah. The fight stick is really weird too, because it's
like a wireless fight stick. It's like a really rofile
so it's gonna like it's not gonna use like standard
fight stick parts. It's gonna use like proprietary stuff, So
who knows it'll be a good fight stick. But this
game looks.
Speaker 5 (01:30:04):
Amazing that our style is so good and we got
like a little bit of a look at because they
they went they did like a really cool rewind at
the end of this, and they went to do like
a little kind of documentary about how it came to be,
and they were saying that Sony went to ARC Systems
(01:30:26):
and was like, we want to make a Marvel game
with you, So they Sony are the people with Sony PlayStations,
the people who went to Marvel and to Arc to
be like, let's try and do this partnership and like
make a tag team game.
Speaker 1 (01:30:40):
Do you think Capcom's going to be Man?
Speaker 5 (01:30:41):
Because yeah, like, are we okay to do that?
Speaker 4 (01:30:45):
Is that okay?
Speaker 5 (01:30:47):
And the really cool thing that I actually really loved
about it is that. So they had a part where
they said that they showed the character designs to Sony
and to Marvel and they were kind of disappointed and
they were trying to figure out why, and they're like,
we want you to create these characters the way that
you guys want to do your take on them. So
(01:31:08):
they showed iron Man as an example where iron Man
kind of looks like a Gundam. He looks like an
iron Man Gundam. So they wanted this, And it seems
like even with them using the name because they're like,
Tolkien means fighting souls, but it's Marvel Tolkien fighting souls,
it seems like they really want to be like, this
is a Japanese fighting Marvel game, Like we want the
(01:31:30):
style to be Japanese. We want you to know that
this is coming from a Japanese student. We don't want
them to make like follow the suits of all of
the other iterations of the characters. So it looks incredible, Yeah, it.
Speaker 1 (01:31:42):
Looks really crash for you like, you know, obviously Marvel
characters like how fresh can you be? But it's like
a really unique look at these like the artyle is
so new, like the drawing of these characters is so new.
But also like I don't know, the fighting game genre
can kind of feel like stuck in a rut. Sometimes
we're like, oh, we got Street Fighter six, we got
(01:32:02):
World Combat eleven, I'm not even sure what we're on now, twelve.
Speaker 4 (01:32:07):
I think one. I believe it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:10):
I believe it's zero one.
Speaker 1 (01:32:12):
It's like, you know, the they iterate, the iterate, they iterate,
and then like to see something like this, like sure,
it's like it's a you know, it's a team based
fighting game, but man, it looks it looks really freshening.
Speaker 6 (01:32:23):
I think you would definitely hope it does what Marvel
Rivals did for a hero shooters and kind of get
a lot of babel back into that space that maybe
had left or wouldn't consider a hero shooter now that
planet because it's got the Marvels game.
Speaker 4 (01:32:37):
Like I don't play finning games on this looks kind
of good. I might give it looks good.
Speaker 5 (01:32:42):
It looks really good, and they've said that they're doing
a system where you don't have to learn four characters
to be able to play the game. You can play
as one main character and use the others as like
tag assistance.
Speaker 4 (01:32:55):
More.
Speaker 5 (01:32:56):
You can learn four characters and you can switch to
the different characters throughout the game, So they're letting you
do both.
Speaker 1 (01:33:04):
I hope that they have a good, easy to use
ranked kind of matchmaking system, because that has been a
real bugbear for them. It has been a real weird
like why can't Arc system Works get this right kind
of thing or just like let me get into a
lobby and like matchmake in ranked and they just haven't
(01:33:29):
been able to do that. But man, this game looks awesome.
Speaker 5 (01:33:33):
It looks incredible, and I'm super happy for them because
they make really unique style, like very good games, and
I'm hoping this ends up being like a huge international
hit for them.
Speaker 1 (01:33:45):
Yeah. I think Gil it was a great big hit
for them. So it was Dragon Ball. I think that
was a big hit for them too.
Speaker 3 (01:33:53):
They's just one of those developers and is another one
of like what if this developer did and and so yeah,
now we've got a couple good examples of that. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:34:03):
Yeah, the fact that Sony's making a fight stick Like
I don't know, even if it sucks, it's like just
add some legitimacy to like, you know, the the f GC.
Speaker 5 (01:34:14):
Yeah yeah, man, this day to play, I felt like
I had been beat up. At the end of it.
I was like, what is going on? It was just
so much was happening. I was like, Initially, I'm like, okay,
that's that's wow. We got pregmatitors crazy, and then they
just kept going and I was like, oh my god,
oh my god. Well I don't even know. I don't
know what's happening anymore. It was It was incredible. And
(01:34:36):
Sony apparently is at Summer Game Fest still, so I
don't know what they're going to be showing. Their Summer
Game Fest is tomorrow. This is just the beginning the
tip of the iceberg, also.
Speaker 4 (01:34:47):
Known as release Date.
Speaker 5 (01:34:50):
Yeah, yeah, I hope so they are they they're at
Summer game Fest, right, what is there.
Speaker 1 (01:35:00):
La?
Speaker 4 (01:35:01):
Yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:35:03):
It is like a three week basically, but now it's
over games Fest. But it's nice. Yeah, to see all
that energy. Uh, basically get conference people have.
Speaker 1 (01:35:13):
Like hotel rooms, Well, you have appointments and you go and.
Speaker 3 (01:35:16):
Look, they do have the I haven't been in a while,
but they should still have that area of play. I
don't forget where it happens where you can because people
get tickets still rank and.
Speaker 5 (01:35:25):
They definitely, yeah, they have like the live audience stuff,
and then Dev's definitely kind of set up play times
for people to go and check out all of their
stuff during the announcements and stuff. So it's it's basically ethere.
It's just maybe not in a huge convention all.
Speaker 3 (01:35:41):
Yeah, it's not too giant convention halls or anything anymore.
So yeah, that's a good point. I guess I don't
know how they sort.
Speaker 5 (01:35:47):
Of they probably just get with yeah, like hotel rooms
or stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:35:50):
For it's definitely a lot of that, but yeah, normally
there was like some more centralized stuff. But actually to
be I have no idea at this point, but but yeah,
like Xbox isn't remember they used to do their conference
at the big theater there and so that's not happening,
but like that's still coming the Sunday. So yeah, like
to your point, wats, it's like this was a huge
(01:36:11):
piece for sure, and we're still at the tip of
the iceberg in terms of yeah, some exciting day.
Speaker 5 (01:36:18):
I'm so excited.
Speaker 3 (01:36:20):
I want to see what Xbox has actually for sure, but.
Speaker 5 (01:36:23):
You they've got the lives of the overture release date.
Speaker 3 (01:36:26):
I think that's that might be an easy.
Speaker 5 (01:36:28):
One because they keep saying, uh, the Xbox Controller powered
are early play testing. Thank you Xbox. Probably on Sunday though,
hope that. Yeah, it was phenomenal, very exciting, very good,
very happy, and it was great. There is great. Yeah,
(01:36:50):
I'm so addicted to Night Rain.
Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
Yeah, yeah, what's going like, what's the ongoing like kind
of uh like feeling on that game? I guess.
Speaker 5 (01:37:01):
So it's a bit of a weird one because people
see elden Ring and they're like, I like elden Ring,
and I'm like, Web, this is an elder Ring. Because
I get a lot of questions like I've never played
a Souls like should this be my first one? And
I'm like, this is not a Souls Like, so no,
I don't recommend that at all. It's like, yes, it's
(01:37:22):
using elden Rings weapons and it's using so yeah bosses
from different Souls games. But the way you're playing it
is you drop, You're looking at your map, You're like, okay,
this boss is week to fire. Here's a fire location.
We're gonna go to the fireplace. Okay, here's a church.
This is where we get more flash charts to go
(01:37:43):
together the church. Does anyone have is does anyone have
an every Ja? Okay, we're gonna go kill the every
je Okay, okay, we're hitting the mines. We're gonna go
get the thing to level up our weapon. And it's
that for like fifteen minutes, and then you fight a
boss and you kill them, and then you do it again,
and then you fight a boss and you try and win.
It's the big scary boss. But you're like Elden Ring
(01:38:04):
and Soul's like so very like, take your time, learn
the fight, be careful, take it slow. This is even
if you die, it's better that you die. But kill
things fast over killing things slow and being very very
careful because you want to be aiming to be level
you know, fifteen ideally at the end of day two,
(01:38:26):
and if you're level nine or something, it's going to
be very very very hard for you to kill the
boss at the very end of these runs. So anyway, uh,
lots of people are addicted to it and love it
and find it really fun because there's lots of different builds,
and you're trying to get more relics, and you're trying
(01:38:46):
to build out your character, and you're trying to learn
different characters. And I find that really enjoyable. Like I'm
just playing one character at the moment, and I am
loving learning the intricacies of them and what spells work
well on them, what weapons work well, what kind of
relics I want to use. But it is a very
different experience and going into especially if you've just started
(01:39:09):
and you're playing with people who have who are only
on that first boss. It's a whole lot of headless
chickens running around try to figure out what to do.
So I've noticed that like early on, the randoms when
you match make like they're obviously new. They don't know
what they're doing, so it's not going to be very
successful most likely. But then now the randoms that I
(01:39:31):
get are like way better. I haven't had any issues
with any randoms now at all. We just ping and
whoever starts pinging first, they're kind of like the leader
and you follow them around and it's been it's been
really successful. So I think just give people some time
to learn, if you don't have friends to co op with.
Give some people time to learn so they can kind
(01:39:53):
of teach you how to go everywhere. Because this game
isn't about learning the fights. It's not about learning any
of that. It's about learning the map and where to
go to get your strength.
Speaker 6 (01:40:04):
Conny, consider it like a really good rug lot, which
it is. It's kind of like you learn the map,
you learn the bill, you leave the ability, you learn
the witnesses, and then hopefully you just uber.
Speaker 4 (01:40:14):
Scaled and you slap the shit out of the boss.
You know, that's what I do.
Speaker 5 (01:40:18):
I'm like, I don't know what this boss is doing.
He's doing some stuff. I can't see what's going on.
I just slapping. I'm like, yeae when the weapon he's weak,
to just slap him.
Speaker 4 (01:40:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
The really big difference there is that an Eldon ring
and Deven souls of stuff like you usually like at
the boss. So you keep trying and you're there for
like fifty tries of and this you've got one shot
in let's yea to this boss. Yeah, but like that's
the big difference. So yeah, you're absolutely right. It's all
about learning the nuances and even stuff like you know,
(01:40:48):
if like if you don't know even I know, like
for example, an elder rings like you scale. You can
look at your character scaling of like your s tier dexterity.
You're like, yeah, yeah, I get it, but I'm gonna
use this sort of. But then you start to realize
the the nuances, like you're saying, Watson, it's like, uh,
maybe you should not be using this weapon just because
you think it's cool. It's gonna affect your damage dumb dumb,
and you're like, yeah, I know, but I wanted to
(01:41:09):
use it, and like you go through all of that
and learning all these nuances, so yeah, overall, I really
like it.
Speaker 4 (01:41:15):
It is brutal.
Speaker 3 (01:41:17):
The game pad was broken, apparently my own on Steam,
and that was legit shocking to me. So for climbing up,
I complained for three days like Blue in the phase.
Speaker 4 (01:41:29):
I fell down the cavern a gag, it's son of a.
Speaker 3 (01:41:32):
Bleep, you know, And it turned out they fixed it
like that bug, So I was shocked to see that.
That was a really nice change.
Speaker 4 (01:41:41):
Changes as well pretty quickly.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
Yeah, solo brutal though, but it's definitely better.
Speaker 4 (01:41:47):
It's definite meaning it's.
Speaker 5 (01:41:48):
Not like it's you got like three revibes now pretty
much for the final boss.
Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
Did they update it again? I try to They.
Speaker 5 (01:41:55):
Updated it, Yeah, so you have to go. You're more
likely to get the draw from bosses that give you
the revive, so you see that you put it in
your inventory, but they give you one for free, So
on average people are getting like the three three revives
for the final boss.
Speaker 3 (01:42:12):
It's it's definitely better. You can play it, even just
playing up to the first boss on your own. It's
fun because you can get some of your questing done
for characters that way and stuff like that.
Speaker 6 (01:42:21):
But yeah, enjoying doing it just to like take my
own pace and not like hurt the team by rating
things a little bit more, and like just thinking if
this is going to be good for build rather than
bang bang is, Like I got read shit, I just
raandly picked up something.
Speaker 4 (01:42:38):
My build probably sucks.
Speaker 5 (01:42:41):
It's not a bad idea, honestly to go in solo
initially and just take some time to read some stuff
and kind of get a feel for it. Just don't
expect to like be six.
Speaker 6 (01:42:50):
Win yeah, and kind of likely what level you can
take stuff on.
Speaker 4 (01:42:55):
I think it's good for solid.
Speaker 6 (01:42:57):
Yeah, I need to be at this level before I
go to this area, or do the minds or do.
Speaker 5 (01:43:02):
The like the jumping easy.
Speaker 4 (01:43:07):
Yeah, what bosses? Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:43:11):
I'm still sorting out how I feel about it. I do,
like I like brutal games and all, but because of
the design of the yeah, it's like forty five minutes
just to get to a boss and the matchmaking, it's
like I've only done one of the the eight bosses
and having some good teams sometimes. But it's what I
was going to ask you, guys like Watts or Mile
and how much of you played where it's just you
(01:43:32):
and randoms. Nobody's on comms or long much, right, It's
usually me and Dmitri.
Speaker 5 (01:43:40):
And a random or me Demetrian and like someone from
chat not on comms.
Speaker 3 (01:43:45):
And that's why I was going to say, like my
experience within a little bit of all of that is
you really need at least somebody else on comms that
has been playing for a while. It's to me, it's
a pretty grindy experience just to get past the first boss,
like I'm thirty hours in, you know, unless in other words,
I've never had like two three of the same people
including myself, like just in sync. But if you can
(01:44:08):
do that, I think you're gonna have tons of fun,
and like you know, it definitely is all about knowledge.
I do like the game a lot, and I have
an addiction because of this is just what from software does.
You're like, I know I'm better than this. God, I
gotta get back in there, and you're willing to do
a forty five minute run just to get beat down.
So it's it's definitely good on that front, but I
(01:44:28):
might am I gonna have to do like eighty hours
just to get through like five bosses with randoms, Like
I guess it is.
Speaker 4 (01:44:36):
It is definitely getting better with randoms a longer.
Speaker 2 (01:44:39):
Chetting that out, yeah, Like as.
Speaker 6 (01:44:42):
Like you stop realizing people are very similar strategies of
what places you should hit up and thinking very similarly,
but you still get like, you know, if you're on COMPS,
you'd be disagreeing on the strategy.
Speaker 4 (01:44:56):
Like there were.
Speaker 6 (01:44:56):
Times I'm like, I think in my head, if I
was on COMMS, I think we should you mind now,
and get like I need this for my gear, and
that pinned something else and then all of a sudden,
like I'm finding a boss by myself, and you know.
Speaker 3 (01:45:07):
Yeah, you have to.
Speaker 6 (01:45:08):
That's that's a bit frustrating, but it's it's it's that
your team disagrees on the current strategy rather than people
not knowing what to do really and what they might
need for their build and what you might need for
your build. And I think I've done like thirty six
hours and the only come up I've done is pretty
much with you what so have the long we played
for so they're mostly solo and it's yeah, yeah, it's
(01:45:31):
a it is a mixed bag, and he's getting better
the longer.
Speaker 3 (01:45:35):
It's a good game though, And like I, you know,
I think they're gonna have updates later this year, right,
so I think by then it'll be hopefully in you know,
more balance shape, let's call it. But the game is
absolutely good at a minimum. It's just come on, man.
So I'm more as the other community goes.
Speaker 5 (01:45:52):
I want them to add more random events because when
those happen, it is so funny, like all of a sudden,
a locos swarm, a locust swarm will come and there
will be bombardments of locust swarms that will hit you
and steal your levels, and you gotta look in the
sky and go oh, the locusts are going that way,
and you gotta b line to this stupid enemy and
(01:46:13):
kill the locust.
Speaker 6 (01:46:13):
But I was getting like fighting the bloody Orga boss
like every round for some reason, I was getting sucked
into fighting him, do you.
Speaker 4 (01:46:21):
I don't know what it was though, for the first
day boss. No, it's just a random event.
Speaker 5 (01:46:27):
It's it's an are raid.
Speaker 2 (01:46:30):
It's like the bubbles bubble.
Speaker 5 (01:46:34):
Yeah. I love I love all these. I need more.
I want more random events like mor Got invading you
and stuff like that. I want if where they add
more of that, and they add I mean, I think
that wouldn't be too bad to make because they're not
building like entirely different areas. They're just building like some
stuff that can happen on the map. I would also
(01:46:56):
love to see more of the special events like the
volcano and the rot forest and stuff, because they're really
fun to explore and they're just really fun to do.
They're full of bosses and if you can get through it,
you get crazy loot. But yeah, I hope they keep
adding to it because I think it's really fun. I
think it's probably doing better than they expected it to do,
(01:47:17):
and I'm enjoying it more than I expected. I just
keep dreaming about finding new relics.
Speaker 6 (01:47:23):
I think it's like so cool that they've just taken
the great foundation of elder Ring, like the environment, the bosses,
the combat, and they've just made a completely different game
from it.
Speaker 2 (01:47:34):
It's like, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:47:36):
That's great.
Speaker 6 (01:47:37):
And I think this is going to be similar to
Dust Bloods. I guess it's like probably going to have
a great foundation in some weird ass extraction.
Speaker 3 (01:47:45):
Yeah, that's why I'm not It's definitely got me more
excited for Dust Bloods in the sense. Yeah, Okay, they're
really sticking with the let's say elder Ring and Soul
style design principles, but it's it's working in a multiplayer format.
It's just they're adapting, but they're not. It's not dramatically different.
It's it's in other words, I still think it's just
(01:48:06):
like you're rushing, yeah, but it's still elden Ring, you know.
Speaker 5 (01:48:10):
It's just like running elder Ring with friends.
Speaker 3 (01:48:13):
Like it forces you to speed run elder Ring with friends.
Speaker 1 (01:48:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:48:16):
I think it's a great way to put it for
this one. And then Dust Bloods is like pv pv
E but with hopefully without that, Like I don't think
it'll have the Battle Royale bubble, so it's gonna be really.
Speaker 5 (01:48:26):
No, it's yeah, I'm really curious is and I'm really
glad that, like playing with people feels really smooth, you know,
like I've played with people from all over the world
and it's not been laggy or bad.
Speaker 6 (01:48:39):
It's felt Oh yeah, actually really yeah, very true, pretty good.
Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:48:45):
The only thing that I don't know if I'm convinced
and I think it needs tweaking is the revived system.
Speaker 4 (01:48:50):
Sometimes I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:48:52):
I don't like the like I agree with beaning out
a shoot hourrows at your friends to get them up,
because I'm like, you kind of need that, But then
it's different every Yeah I'm be swinging a half. I'm like,
I'm juiced with this hammer. Well I shouldn't like fifty
swings and get you off? What's going on?
Speaker 5 (01:49:09):
Yeah, it really is a point where you are, for
most characters mostly just using your super You're.
Speaker 3 (01:49:19):
It's it's no, it's broken, like it's not. I don't
know right now, it's not a good system. I don't
think the ReVibe needs to be crazy. On top of
the crazy is how I put it like, meaning it's
affecting your I mean stamina. You're using a weapon, it's crazy.
I'm like, I'm just trying to get you up, and
so you have to figure out what your character yeah,
best ways to do it, which maybe that was it,
(01:49:43):
but yeah, in other words, like instead everybody should have
just used the hilt of their weapon at the exact
same speed and timing and it's balanced, you know or whatever.
As a I do like the distance range stuff is
good actually for the game, but again, like it's still
very dependent on the type of bows you use in magic,
and so magic's like op with that, and so it's
just not balance.
Speaker 4 (01:50:03):
I don't know. I think it's more about the scaling.
Speaker 6 (01:50:05):
I don't feel like it scales right, Like I feel
like I'm always more of an advantage using a dagger
over a heavy hitting hammer or something like yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:50:13):
Fast moving dexterity speed, yeah is great.
Speaker 6 (01:50:17):
But I don't know, Maybe I just think the scaling
needs to be changed, Like if I'm eating with a
hard hitting weapon, I should get you up quicker. It
should be Yeah, it should be more chunks exactly right.
Speaker 3 (01:50:28):
Well, let's say I'm not saying they can't fix it.
I'm just like all these different weapons speeds and like
stamina gives and you know, like just maybe equalize it
for now somehow. That Yeah, it's frustrating when I mean
two blocks of you know, it.
Speaker 6 (01:50:45):
Doesn't it doesn't feel like you're getting the advantages of
your of your build during the revive.
Speaker 4 (01:50:51):
And that's why I feel like it feels bad.
Speaker 6 (01:50:52):
It's like if I'm built into dealing heavy jump attack
damages when if I jump on you, like I should
say the big chunk.
Speaker 5 (01:51:00):
Yeah, they could tweak that for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:51:03):
That the reason I'm not so invested in that is
it's like clunky hip hox feeling on it like it works,
and then I'm like backing up because of the weapon
I have, and I'm like this is nuts, like versus.
Speaker 5 (01:51:14):
Somebody just strop Helen on you.
Speaker 3 (01:51:17):
Yeah, well I just use my super exactly.
Speaker 5 (01:51:21):
But if you're playing Guardian, you should be using your
super exclusively to res people and boss fights.
Speaker 3 (01:51:25):
Yeah, it's so for damage too, but yeah, the game
is so hard. You're right, you better save it. You
just better save.
Speaker 5 (01:51:31):
It, yeah, or you need to if you want to
use it for both. You want to get relics that
have Ultimate Arts Gauge, which is what I'm looking for
now with Revenant. I want to have Ultimate Arts Gauge
and then have my damaging old so then I can
use it for both. It's like if I want to
get some damage right now, I can pop it and
I'll have it back up, you know, not too.
Speaker 3 (01:51:49):
Far from you.
Speaker 1 (01:51:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:51:50):
I think the interesting thing about this game is for me,
that kind of solved the Rogue loot issue I have,
which I just kind of get board of like repeating
the same thing. There's like so much variation in how
you play every match, and it's so fast paced, and
you have that meta progression piled on and the build
(01:52:11):
stuff piled onto that it's just kind of like it
keeps it fresh each time, and that's usue what moves
me away from Brogue lives like after a while, like
then the same thing over and over again, Like I'm
kind of sick of killing the same bost on the
same levels and getting you know, a smidge of percentage
increase in my main character, which this is like all right,
let's go again, send it.
Speaker 5 (01:52:34):
I just want to keep going.
Speaker 3 (01:52:35):
I was gonna say maybe last time on that wats
because it's so roguelated based. You know, you come out
with these relics, have you done a good sense of
when you get like plus one vigor or plus two
dexterity or plus two arts and you've got a good
feeling that that is actually good. It's really big difference difference.
Speaker 1 (01:52:56):
Like you just.
Speaker 5 (01:52:58):
I would get my old one in a boss fight
as revenant. I can get it like three times, and
I'm not you know, I don't have the fully specked
stuff that I want, So I could pump that way hyder.
I have plus two on two relics, so that would
be plus plus four.
Speaker 3 (01:53:16):
Okay, yeah, so.
Speaker 6 (01:53:17):
Does that actually mean you get a back more from
killing the downs faster?
Speaker 5 (01:53:22):
You get a bit faster. Yeah, yeah, just the base
cool down is it's also another relative. There's other relics
that can give you like old gauge based on like
kills and stuff like that. So there's there's a bunch
of little little things. There's there's so many cool things
you can do, Like you can run full support builds
where your flask is healing other people. You can run
your getting your old gauge up all the time. You
(01:53:44):
can run like all in on like incantations or different
different kinds of gods, layering cantations, madness incantations. Like there's
so many, so many things you can really build into.
Speaker 3 (01:53:56):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, relics different.
Speaker 5 (01:54:00):
It does feel very Yeah, it definitely makes a big difference.
Every relic that I've tried makes a huge difference. I
think I saw like if you get let's let's say,
improved godslayer incantations, it's about a fourteen percent increase of
the damage of it, and you can stack them so
you could have three of those and then that ends
up being crazy different than your damage.
Speaker 3 (01:54:23):
Yeah, it seems like. But that's the thing. I haven't
had time to like watch research bids or even just
test it myself, because like each run has been just
its own undertail and its own ways. Yeah, but I
wanted to get I knew you had played a time,
like watch You've played a lot of hours by now.
Speaker 5 (01:54:38):
Right, Yeah, yeah, like play any for the past two
days because of Neo. But I'm at forty two hours.
Speaker 3 (01:54:45):
Yeah, so that's that's really good to hear. I've noticed
a little bit like when I got like my character
relic and my character skill for Guardians like a little
tornado win thing. It said, oh, it'll extend and be longer,
and I was like, yeah, sure it will, and like that,
I was like, oh, it's like twice as long. But
I just think I which is really good to hear
because the problem again that I'm getting at is because
(01:55:09):
it's such utter failure, so to speak. It's so hard
with the random team in general to get very far
that you don't feel superpowered from those. But it's good
to hear they're having impacts that once you start paying attention,
can probably turn the tide. If everybody's doing that.
Speaker 5 (01:55:25):
Oh you know, it's been great. Like I put the
Ultimate Arts Gauge thing on Revenant, and I'm now able
to run into like an ever jail and do it myself,
or go to a boss and do it myself because
I can pump my ALT and then my ault does
damage and then I'm like, I'm not wasting my ALT.
You know, I still will have it build it back
up for something when I need it again.
Speaker 4 (01:55:45):
So yeah, awesome.
Speaker 6 (01:55:46):
It's kind of interesting because it's times it doesn't feel
like a rugue lot, and when you play like a
normal more like linear rugue line, you kind of know
what level yet you're like, okay, I can do this.
Now I can do this, like I'm getting more powerful.
But in this one you just kind of get runs,
and if you don't spend the time looking at them
or testing them or like working out how they do,
you don't really feel that like power jump until youre
like okay, like I can now look solo this boss
(01:56:09):
comfortably at a lower level, which means you can you know,
farm stuff differently with your group, which is like cool.
I think I had a relic that I've been crutching
on hard because it's like it gives your starting weaponhllfrost,
and it's just like so powerful against.
Speaker 2 (01:56:27):
It makes a big difference, like.
Speaker 6 (01:56:29):
Like way easier to solo stuff because you just wipe
out groups of enemies with it. Then I changed character
and didn't put it back on. I'm like, oh, I'm
kind of sucking again.
Speaker 3 (01:56:38):
Yeah, it's gonna think about. But there's so I get
the sense by the way it's literally rang on all
of this stuff, but maybe it is.
Speaker 5 (01:56:47):
If you're playing a character that says preference and it
has like a weapon in their preference, you are more
likely to get that weapon. So like pile. Words for
Guardian are great axes for Wilder, so you are more
likely to get it.
Speaker 3 (01:57:01):
But yeah, nice, But yeah, I met with the relics
that it's insane how many, oh yeah, much variety there
is and how much combination.
Speaker 5 (01:57:08):
So think in that update they did make, and it's
a it was absolutely extremely noticeable that you do get
way better relics. Now when you do that the expedition
stuff and you're successful or even you know, make it
further in the expedition, it's very I think they.
Speaker 6 (01:57:23):
Did something like after the first boss or second boss
there was something like increased rarity, drop trends or increase.
Speaker 3 (01:57:29):
I thought it was you had to get the third
that you had to get to the if you lost,
you still had that chance, and then if.
Speaker 5 (01:57:36):
You buy and then the orangy. Yeah, the Gamba stuff
is a much higher you're getting better stuff from that
as well.
Speaker 3 (01:57:42):
Yeah, but yeah, I think you're gonna see some really
you're getting at some crazy builds once people are getting
into these eighty one hundred and fifty hour builds, and
so it's gonna be really interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:57:52):
Tail D R.
Speaker 5 (01:57:52):
Brier, We are enjoying it.
Speaker 1 (01:57:54):
It sounds great.
Speaker 4 (01:57:55):
I think this is night Rain Addicts. Now you're gonna
have to cut.
Speaker 3 (01:57:58):
Us off from the future.
Speaker 5 (01:58:00):
I I'm just it's so weird. I didn't think i'd
like it that much, and I'm just like, I want
to keep playing. And I got to talk about the bills.
What are you doing?
Speaker 4 (01:58:07):
What am I doing?
Speaker 5 (01:58:07):
You're gonna do a poison bill this time? What are
you taking with you?
Speaker 1 (01:58:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:58:10):
Some can I talk about Arc Creators coming out tomorrow,
so I got to eat soon. But yes, yeah, okay,
well yeah, we'll wrap it up like so, I'm really
hoping Our Creators is going to get shadow dropped tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (01:58:27):
Made by in Bark Studios. They shadow dropped the finals
at the Summer Games Facet which is their other game.
There has been kind of these arg which I don't
think they've even confirmed, but similar to like aarg's that
Bungee would do, led to a website how to countdown time,
and the countdown timer was leading to Summer Games first.
(01:58:49):
People seeing updates on like the Xbox and stuff like
showing the thumbnails or whatever, but you know, no download yet.
So I'm in probably seventy percent chance is going to
release tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:59:02):
Do you think it's more of just a beta announcement again,
like a final beta. It could because I think you
would be crazy to go up against like night Rain
switch to and like and Summer Games has all this noise.
It'd be weird to would at least a game this weekend.
Speaker 4 (01:59:19):
I think that's what I would have thought.
Speaker 6 (01:59:20):
But you know now that I've got the switch too
and realize it's only Mark cut on there elder Ring's
been out for.
Speaker 4 (01:59:27):
Awake.
Speaker 3 (01:59:29):
It would still do quite well, I think, but it's
from a marketing perspective, it seems wild to me if
they did something like that.
Speaker 6 (01:59:35):
But yeah, yeah, so it's I think worst case scenario
will get another better announcement at least if not it dropping.
Speaker 3 (01:59:44):
Yeah, but but good chance too. It could also just
be coming soon. I think you've been talking a lot
in the community about like Finals had come out similarly
around like Summer and Summer Games stuff.
Speaker 6 (01:59:53):
Right, So oh yeah, like I said, Finals dropped a
shadow drop during some against.
Speaker 3 (01:59:58):
Fest would actually full released it wasn't just a release
date yeah for July risonth okay, yeah, yeah, maybe it
worked for that, I guess.
Speaker 4 (02:00:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:00:08):
I mean, our creators is big enough now that it's
going to do pretty well regardless, but.
Speaker 6 (02:00:12):
I think the word of mouth has done enough for
alk right as I could drop it and be right.
Speaker 3 (02:00:16):
They should release it on September twenty third. That's Marathon's
release datum. Is it just playing?
Speaker 1 (02:00:23):
Yeah, that would be good. Hi, guys, let's wrap this
one up. Thank you all for joining us. Have a
wonderful weekend.
Speaker 5 (02:00:32):

Friday Friday, not Game More sorry, the Jeff Keeley Summer

Speaker 5 (02:00:42):

Speaker 4 (02:00:44):

Speaker 3 (02:00:48):

Speaker 5 (02:00:50):
Yeah sure we could.
Speaker 3 (02:00:52):

Speaker 4 (02:00:53):

Speaker 2 (02:00:55):
