Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to episode A man Fran for seven.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Why you put me on the spot.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Thank you. That's right on the DCP plus side Quest podcast.
We've been talking about ovens, talking about vacuums. I think
I think uh Frand was judging my tool battery selection.
He's like, is that what is that? What is that?

(00:29):
Is that up to snuff? I have to turn in
your man card.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Those like vacuums with like the like the tool batteries
on them. I remember people like modifying their Dawsons to
do that because their batteries were betterf.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
But now, oh, why.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Are you modifying?

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Yeah yeah, I'm modifying it to use like uh Milwaukee batteries. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
It's really strange though, because we were just casually talking
about this before the show. But he has everything next
to him for some reason, like as if this was
like a produced bit sponsor. Like he hasn't moved, he
didn't go get it, and we just I just brought
this up and he's like, oh, I have this, and he.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Just pulled the vacuum.

Speaker 6 (01:20):
It's amazing what Brian has right next to him at
all time.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
It is It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
I'm wondering how big this desk is because he often
has warhammer one.

Speaker 7 (01:30):
Here's my batteries.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Actually do a little war hammering as we into.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Oh my god, your eyes look so good.

Speaker 7 (01:43):
Lies, they're so good at the.

Speaker 6 (01:46):
If you guys are not watching, if you're not, if
you have not watched the video format, you have.

Speaker 7 (01:52):
To just to see Briar's eides. He's wearing his Hamma
painting spectacles.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
I can't see anything of those.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
That's gonna give you a headache for the next few right, if.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
I could hack that, did that really help with I mean, obviously, hell,
but do you get so?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
No, but you can't see anything that's not this far
away from your face For audio listeners, my hand is
about eight inches in front of my eyeballs. It's perfect
because you're just like wooop.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
But have you realized how much like fine muddy coordination
you're lacking when you've got those on and like trying
to paint Tony willhammer or you've been wrong with it.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
No, my f motor coordination, it turns out, is much
better than my eyesight, so better I can see, the
better I can paint.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Okay, that that.

Speaker 7 (02:49):
Checks out, you know, before we get too into too much.

Speaker 6 (02:57):
Yeah, there was a pretty big week, well, pretty big
day yesterday because Tefty.

Speaker 7 (03:04):
Just streaming after.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
Two years completely off the internet completely. Yeah, yeah, he
came back and he was streaming. Obviously returned to Destiny
where things kind of began. It kind of made the
most sense to be in the Destiny category. And he
streamed for about four hours and we got to see Memes,

(03:26):
which is his partner. We got to see Charlie his cat,
his sixteen pound Chonker cat, and yeah, it was it
was amazing. And he's his current plan. So if any
of you are wanting to like, you know, see Tefty again,
he is going to be streaming Monday through Friday for
about anywhere from two to four hours, so you can

(03:47):
check his Twitch channel and come hang out. But he
is also planning on stopping by the podcast too, so
he doesn't want to sign up for you know, like
I'm going to content.

Speaker 7 (03:57):
Creation every day and podcast and like right away.

Speaker 6 (04:00):
So a couple of weeks he's gonna come on the
podcast and catch up and then do a show here
and there if he's playing something and wants to come
talk about it.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Awesome. Yeah, I'm excited. I don't know if the audience decided.

Speaker 7 (04:11):
I am, Oh, they're they're definitely.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Excited watching the stream.

Speaker 7 (04:16):
Yes, it was like a family reunion. It was crazy.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yeah, have a family, you like. Yeah it was great.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yeah, there was.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
There's something about not just watching teest stream, but hearing
him laugh live on stream has always been a favorite
thing of mine.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Just the way he laughs is always a joyful experience.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Yeah, he's queuing up a lecture for me at some point,
so I gotta be careful.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
But yeah, but yeah.

Speaker 7 (04:47):
He was playing Lightfall's gonna be playing lifefall. He hasn't
played light Fall, so.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Honestly, I have to throw out because I was so
vindicated watching him log in and he's like, all right,
let's do this, you know, and then he's, oh, my
postman is full.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Oh what should I get rid of?

Speaker 5 (05:04):
And you know, like everybody, you have to start deleting
all your gear, uh to prepare to play Destiny. I
was like, yeah, that's what this game is, and that's
why I only played sometimes right now.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Yeah, Yeah, it was awesome to see him. I can't
wait that he comes on the show and he says
he's gonna like he set a schedule or he's just
gonna like I'm gonna stream again sometimes.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
Uh it's yeah, Monday through Friday, around like four pm,
he's going to start and he's going to do two
to four hours, so nothing crazy because he doesn't want
to end up getting into an unhealthy state again. And
then he said, like, that's my plan, just not streaming holidays,
gonna got to be there for family because he's still
looking after family as well.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
But yeah, you.

Speaker 7 (05:48):
Should be able to see tifty every.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Day cos.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
I know coincidence.

Speaker 6 (05:56):
You actually you know why he's partially why he came
back because of mons JH. I think it was it
was tough to being like, well, time to make my
wild's my job again.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Anyway.

Speaker 6 (06:16):
Yeah, because back in the day when the world was
out me tifty memes, we were all hunting together.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
So yeah, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 7 (06:26):
Yeah, he's Thefty's back.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
No show last week, so you didn't miss it. No
show next week because we're doing the Game Awards, right,
we'll do a Game Awards watch party.

Speaker 7 (06:41):
Yeah, I'm thinking, I think can we get a little drink, you.

Speaker 6 (06:43):
Know, get a little make it like we're attending a
fancy award show. Oh yeah, well that gets you. Yeah,
let's dress a little nice drink drink Okay, okay, pose
say prior prior, I haven't here, briar.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Oh, I'll do a little swirl, so you see.

Speaker 7 (07:10):
I think it would be fun. It would be a
good time. Yes, next week.

Speaker 6 (07:17):
So the Game Awards for some reason is on a Thursday,
and it's right during the podcast, and instead of us
looking over at our other monitors going.

Speaker 7 (07:25):
Did you say what just happened, we started.

Speaker 6 (07:27):
Doing watch parties watch elungs of the Game Awards, so
you can come hang out watch the Game Awards with us,
all the announcements.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
It's a good note that it will be occurring earlier,
so I assume going live earlier.

Speaker 7 (07:38):
Right, Oh yeah, like four I think sweet.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
I'm very excited about that.

Speaker 6 (07:48):
And four from Island is two hours before regular starts.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
I had a clock. Yeah, a yeah, he's busy.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
It's gonna be a good four hours already.

Speaker 7 (08:06):
I'm so excited for it, I really am.

Speaker 6 (08:08):
It's it's just it's just a good time seeing you
know you. I always say like you can potentially see
your new favorite game get announced, you know, you see
it for the first time, and that ends up being
like one of your favorite things.

Speaker 7 (08:24):
Oh it's confirmed, that's all but confirmed.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
That's Sony teaser. Man, they get better persistence.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Yeah, so to touch on that just really quick, what
friends talking about is, uh, Sony put out their thirtieth
anniversary trailer.

Speaker 7 (08:37):
With a bunch of games going through all this stuff.

Speaker 6 (08:40):
It's about family, it's about hope, it's about fun, it's
about honor. Right at the end. Blood Born it's about persistence.
So Bloodborn confirmed.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Yeah, I mean they ended on it and they know it.

Speaker 7 (08:56):
Was the last game, so they was there.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
They're the very whether it has anything to do with
the game wards, but they're very least recognizing like we've
got something. We're not gonna troll you this hard and
not have something at some point.

Speaker 7 (09:10):
But I don't know or they're trolling us.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
I don't think there's They specifically showed Bloodborn and like persistence.

Speaker 6 (09:16):
Yeah, it was a Bloodborne screen. It's about persistence. It
was a it was from one of their cinematic trailers
that they had.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
Yeah, I mean it was just showing blood I mean
they showed all the franchises and Bloodborne is one of
the biggest, so it's like part of it.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Is you just read into it and make it what
you want.

Speaker 7 (09:30):
But I mean, come on, it is funny.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
It is funny, and it's especially funny that Sony kind
of well PlayStation kind of ignores Bloodborne like a good amount.
They don't talk about it that often, right, it's if
they do. If you see a trailer or anything, it's
normally if it's like a japan thing, it's like a
specific regional thing. But to be a main Sony trailer
that has blood Born in it was pretty big.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Is Bloodborne as popular in Japan as it is in
the uh oh in the West?

Speaker 7 (10:02):
I don't know. I don't know what its popularity is
like in Japan.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Actually, it's a great question.

Speaker 7 (10:07):
Yeah, I don't know. I'm sure in Japan, let us know.
I'd like I'd like.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
To sometimes that's not like one to one, right, It's
like some games are huge in Japan and not that
big in the West, and some games are huge in
the West, and that that like Metroid, Right, Metroid is
big in the West, but in Japan not that big
a deal, which some suspect that's why we don't get
Metroids every two years. You know.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
It's like, yeah, yeah, it could be my final fantasy
has started to for a while now become super popular
in the West compared to Japan.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Is popularity in Yeah, no, kid Monster Hunter always popular
in Japan, only recently popular in the West.

Speaker 7 (10:52):
Yeah, yeah, well with Yeah, it's gonna say it.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
With Wukong's success, at the very least, Bloodborne should be
successful in China. I mean you need to get some
kind of hook in there and be like, hey, there's
some similarities here.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
I mean, if Sony doesn't give us Bloodborne too, maybe
China will give.

Speaker 6 (11:10):
Us what you're not wrong, Light of blood Born, Light
of blood Born, and light of blood Born.

Speaker 7 (11:19):
Soul's the darkness.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
A frae to play with Dutchess.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Definitely.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Was there any more news on uh from Soft getting
bought by Sony?

Speaker 2 (11:33):
I know that I don't think so.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
No, it was the only The last thing we heard
is that it was Cato Kawa actually.

Speaker 7 (11:40):
That we're like, we want with Sony to bias so interesting.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Well.

Speaker 6 (11:46):
See, it also means that if they get it, they
will essentially own Japanese YouTube as well, which is Nico Nico.

Speaker 7 (11:53):
It's there like basically there.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Do you realize that was part of their holding too.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (11:58):
Yeah, they know all things.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Good job Sony. Yeah, I mean on the game board stuff.
It's worth noting that.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
I mean, it seems like Randy Pitchford right at the
head of Gearbox and Borland's for coming we know, but
it seems all but revealed that they're working on a
trailer right now, which has got to be for the
Game Awards.

Speaker 7 (12:17):
I would assume that.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
I was over for the next movie. I mean, the
first one was so good for the continuing cinematic universe.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Nothing, yeah, he no, fans, not.

Speaker 7 (12:34):
A huge thing.

Speaker 6 (12:34):
I haven't seen the movie. Actually, you know what, maybe
it's banging. Maybe it's a banging movie.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
That's one of those like put it on the background movies. Yeah,
it should be exciting.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Next week.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, TV is coming. He's excited to do it.

Speaker 7 (12:53):
Oh, and there's definitely Yeah. TV will be here.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
He's actually not on this week because he wants to
be there for it next week, so we will have
true bang here watching with us. And I wouldn't say
that it's confirmed that there's gonna be a Monster Hutter trailer,
but it's one pretty likely and two there was a
bunch of press that went to Osaka, which we talked
about with Fran recently, because we're like, Frian, we know

(13:16):
that your friends are going, yeah, yeah, you're linking it.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
You know. I don't know where that report came from.
I didn't it was another France.

Speaker 7 (13:26):
Uh uh.

Speaker 6 (13:27):
Screen rant actually mentioned was like talking about other trailers
that had happened, and then they mentioned like an ice trailer,
like a trailer set in the snow, and we're like,
that's not a trailer yet. So seems like maybe they
showed them the trailer ahead of time perhaps and that
will be the trailer that will be in a.

Speaker 7 (13:50):
Yeah, it's screen rant. What do they know? They don't
know what's going on?

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Is this the big news you will banging on about
this week?

Speaker 7 (13:57):
Was that?

Speaker 1 (13:57):
More? No? So?

Speaker 6 (13:59):
Yeah, they did a lot of press from all over
the world to Capcom in Japan and had them play
in the Scarlet Forest, which is the forest region played
the Scarlet Forest. They fought Chematries, the fire Chicken, they
fought La La Arena, the spider, they fought Douna, the
what do you call the flubber man flubber flubber.

Speaker 7 (14:23):
Man, no mel but a man and gross.

Speaker 6 (14:30):
And they and they fought Coongalawa, the monkey who farts
on you.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
So I really liked how you have translations and everything
because yeah, fought chicken yep, monkey that foughts yep.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Frankly, it helps me because I can't remember their actual names.

Speaker 7 (14:47):
But what are the fun if you're not talking about
it all the time.

Speaker 6 (14:52):
So we were able to fight all of those. They
were able to craft armor and weapons. So we've seen
a bunch of skills and a bunch of bunch of
that stuff.

Speaker 7 (15:01):
We saw like that those.

Speaker 6 (15:02):
Optional quests now, which is actually really cool because say,
if you're going to fight the fire chicken, also have
an optional quest of use paratodes or use vine traps,
and it will actually show you where they are on
the map. So that was that's pretty cool because it's
like a more organic way of teaching people about that stuff.
We got to see hunters.

Speaker 7 (15:22):
Notes in there. It was there's a lot of stuff.

Speaker 6 (15:28):
It's definitely more for like I guess if you're not
already a monster Hunter fan. It was like you get
to see people actually hunting these monsters, and you get
to see their introduction cut scenes, and you get to
see like all of that stuff, which is pretty pretty
fun for people. But if you're a Monster Hunter fan,
then there's a lot of like little hidden things that
you can pick out.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
So just so I have that to be clear. So
is all their oppressions from the hands on event out there.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
Yet as far as we know, Yes, yeah, as far
as we know, unless there was more that they that
they can't release just yet. They were also able to
see the mo Cap studio. So Dosha Guma is a
man in a suit. So if you watch the capture,
there's a guy you can actually see them capturing the

(16:16):
movements in the mo Cap suit going into the engine
as they're doing it live, and you see there's a
there's a guy with a great sword, and then there's
a man in another suit who is being the monsters.

Speaker 7 (16:29):
He was also Rajang.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
So yeah, when you're and they get into it, they're
growling their crazy.

Speaker 7 (16:36):
It's uh, highly recommend It's right. It was very fun.
It was very very fun to watch.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
That would be the weirdest thing to do ragon like
a mode cap of like a monster, just like growling
and rolling around and throwing yourself around.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
The monkey.

Speaker 7 (16:57):
Yeah, it's like both of them.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
They have them do the mo cap and then the
animators come and like, you know, fine tune it.

Speaker 7 (17:05):
But yeah, it's it's all camps.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
I never really thought they were to moap for the monsters, yep,
humanoid forms most.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Of the time.

Speaker 7 (17:20):
Yeah, it's it's amazing.

Speaker 6 (17:21):
It's really really, really fun to see it.

Speaker 7 (17:25):
It's very cool.

Speaker 6 (17:26):
As far as we know, all of that stuff is
out there now, and I'm sure it's leading into the
Game Awards, where I'm expecting a new trailer and then
maybe a demo announcement because we've only we've only had
a beta.

Speaker 7 (17:39):
We haven't had a demo.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Are expected?

Speaker 6 (17:44):
I wouldn't They normally do a demo for all of
their games, and they normally do two demos, so I would.
I'm expecting, like, yeah, the beta that we had and
then a demo.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Okay, I'm expected, Yeah, I mean it will.

Speaker 5 (17:58):
It was just last year that we saw the first
look at Wild's you know teaser, right, yeah, at.

Speaker 7 (18:05):
The Game Awards last year.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Yeah, time flies. We've seen and learned so much since.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Oh.

Speaker 6 (18:10):
Another point also that's really important is that when they
did the beta, they put out a survey and there
was obviously a lot of feedback that people were giving
and they had already implemented a lot of that feedback
in the build that the press was playing. So one
of those was hit stop adding adding a lot more
hit stop in there. Really, Chalky, Holy, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 7 (18:34):
Yeah, change the audio hit stop there changed.

Speaker 6 (18:37):
They added the insect glave, like being able to vault
into the air constantly.

Speaker 7 (18:42):
Again, that's fact.

Speaker 6 (18:44):
Hitstop is like when you're hitting a monster, instead of
it going like this, it would do like a freeze
on it to make it more weight.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
So when your weapon is hitting, it's kind of just
like freezing.

Speaker 7 (18:57):
It's a little bit of a stop. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
The example I actually used like Straight Fighter, a fighting
game Brier, you know, like when you get like a
punch and you kind of goes slow mover a second,
like yeah, you like going through doing damage.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
Like actually, Zelda's famous for that feel when you hit
with the soul the sword, so I know that.

Speaker 6 (19:15):
Yeah, So they added a lot more of that back.
Insect glave is aerial.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Again.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
Switch axe and lance are getting changed a lot, to
the point where they told the press not to use
those weapons.

Speaker 7 (19:28):
You were using the charge blade, that's right.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
I thought of using the switch ax yeah, you're right.

Speaker 6 (19:33):
Yeah, they told the press like, don't use lance and
switch acts because these are going to be changed and
they're doing something with so they.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Did.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
They give glave like it like it's it's almost a
sign with aerial or is it still kind of like
a little bit less than.

Speaker 6 (19:51):
Con vault dance Now, so you jump in the air,
you spin, you go, now, you jump back, you spin it.

Speaker 7 (19:56):
You can just keep doing that over and over again.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
Now that's ezy huge that I change that.

Speaker 6 (20:01):
This So this is the This is the thing with
especially the Monster Hunter team. They always put out surveys there.
They always know what's going on with like everything in
the community, and they are very responsive to all of it.
So anytime there's a problem or an issue that's being
brought up by a lot of the community, you can
always just be like fit, they'll fix it, and you

(20:24):
can be confident in that because they have done that
all the time.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
I mean, that were two major things.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
It hits top and the glave like glaves identity were
probably like the top top list of you know, criticisms
of the beta yep, and the fact that they've already
been implemented is pretty nutty.

Speaker 6 (20:42):
Already implemented, and yeah, doing more between what the press
plate and when it comes out.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Weird about the switch Acts because I don't think I
really heard much commotion about the switch.

Speaker 6 (20:51):
Acts because I think it seemed pretty upset about like
what is it about.

Speaker 7 (20:56):
I don't really remember.

Speaker 6 (20:57):
I definitely people were like, oh, it feels kind of lack.
It feels like the damage isn't there. It doesn't feel
as like like it's doing as much as other weapons, because.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Didn't Switch Acts have It had like a Harry coming
to the court. I had an offset and I had
a parry in the sold mud mm hmm mmm.

Speaker 6 (21:22):
And oh yeah, performance has been improved again, and of
course of course they're keeping improving it.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
You can see it any coming on the colors.

Speaker 6 (21:32):
The color, the colors are fine you put on console,
uh my mind.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Uh yeah, there was a big difference, like the console
color look different.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
I think, yes, I think some of that dynamic resolution
stuff as well as just the general you know, power
that is available that.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
It was a little more muted.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
Yeah, but the game is very green and brown so far. Yeah,
so I'm with you on that. It's definitely a stylistic
choice there. But I'm curious to see what it looks
like all put together, you know, once it's done done.

Speaker 7 (22:12):
It's looking real good.

Speaker 6 (22:14):
And weather wasn't changing like it was in the beta either,
so people were able to actually experience like what it's
like you you there. Basically, it's you're not going to
experience probably all of maybe maybe not even two different
types of weather when you're hunting.

Speaker 7 (22:29):
It might just be one type of weather which is nice, Like, yeah,
you don't.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
You're not going to feel immersed if it's like it's sunny,
it's dark, it's raining, it's it's like it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Right, I didn't realize the time was sped up in
the beta. Oh wow, just to get you through all
the weathergles Eckle.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (22:48):
So I expect we will be hearing Mold very soon.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
Good February twenty seventh, final release twenty eight, twenty eight.
That's my birthday as well, so I'm always like twenty
eighth is a day after, so I'm always I'm always
off by one apparent.

Speaker 6 (23:03):
You know, I mean, hey, it might come out on
Steam on the twenty seventh because of that, maybe like
Japan release, so sometimes it's like four pm Pacific, so
almost see.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Yeah, and if it gets a demo based on that timing,
what would you estimate if it were.

Speaker 6 (23:17):
To get So they normally do demos about a month
before release, so.

Speaker 7 (23:23):
I would expect it to be late January.

Speaker 6 (23:26):
But if they are wanting to get more feedback and
implement that, then they'd want to do it earlier. So
it kind of just depends if they're looking to be like, hey,
here's the game play it, or if it's yeah, we
want to get more feedbacke.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
Whether it's like, hey, here's an early Christmas present. Oh hey,
like you know, mid January or something.

Speaker 7 (23:44):
Yeah, cool, we'll see.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
Get the demo out of the way, and then a
Vowed comes out sometime after that, which was getting some good.

Speaker 7 (23:54):
Avout, has got a lot of good previews.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Yeah, I've been rooting for it.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
How are we gonna have tom to play a volum
and we're gonna pay a two to everyone?

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Now?

Speaker 6 (24:05):
Two comes out tomorrow, baby. Early access not for release,
but it's accesses.

Speaker 7 (24:13):
It's a full ask game.

Speaker 5 (24:15):
It's called yeah early payments basically.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Early addiction Stotic kit it is.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
I mean, it's interesting though where it's like technically though,
if you wait, you will experience all those improvements in
a way that you were just talking about, like a
very short time with Monster Hunter Path of Exile. You know,
if you do wait, you're gonna get all of these improvements,
even though it's in a pretty dark good shape now.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Right.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
They are another like dev team that seems very responsive
to the community, So that's gonna be interesting to say
how it all shakes out.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
They seem really nicest.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
That's always gonna be saying the right things when it
comes to like game design and doing the right thing
with micro transactions. It's free to play game, well not
free to play twenty getting the early access, but you know, yeah,
that's releases.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
We're gonna be free to play.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Between this one and the first one.

Speaker 5 (25:09):
Baby, it was just a generational jump. But I haven't
played the first one.

Speaker 7 (25:13):
But how many years ago?

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Uh, just before Destiny? I think it was like two
thousand and.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Really yeah thirteen?

Speaker 7 (25:23):
Really yeah, I want to.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Say twenty third, but chat will correct.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
I want to.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
It's late twenty thirteen.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
It looks like, yeah, that's a PC only game still, right,
they never released the.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
I don't know if po A was PC only, but
two is going to be Console and.

Speaker 6 (25:42):
Cross Cross and Cross Safer Cross Cross Safe and Cross.

Speaker 7 (25:48):
Twitch drops Friend.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Gift Drop, which I'll accept.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
As I've said, you know, you can buy it three
times and be happy that the two hundred hours were
in this game, the two thousand hours you put in.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Love to hear it. Yeah, instance, so approval.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
I put in thirty five hours this week into part
of Exile to try to get an understanding a bit,
the first one to try to kind of see the differences,
and I can give you I mean this is if
you say you've only got thirty five hours in part
of the exa, they spit on you, like.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Get out of it. You haven't even started yet.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
Yeah, not really, everyone's been Everyone's been very Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
I haven't even passed a tutorial, which is a campaign,
but I probably can give you very new like main
differences that I think will be noticeable. One of them
is like the way that you use skills in part
of Exile. One is you have like sockets on armor

(26:51):
and gear and you like slot a gem into that,
and it depends on like the like they're multiple gem
sockets on gear. Probably seen like screenshots about the exit
and they're like they're like linked, you see like this
weird looking like links between gem sockets, and that's kind
of like how you add skills and modify skills and
so like the big part of the Grind is getting

(27:13):
a piece of armor or gear that has the right
colored gem sockets with the right linking on them, and
then you and then you put your skills into that.
POE two is much more like classical like character skills.
It actually goes onto your character rather than like onto
a piece of weapon. So I think it's quite streamlined
in like trying new skills as they drop, Like you

(27:36):
get uncut gems that drop, and you can make it
a skill you want to use, and you like basically
place it on your character and you just start playing around.

Speaker 4 (27:43):
With it and you do it that way.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
So like a lot of POE, like the first POE
is kind of like making sure you get the right
combination of skills or the right combination of armor, and
that's kind of like the like part of the game
for using skills. So I think that will be really big.
I think that's much more user friendly, and I think
encourages a lot of just trial just trialing skills and

(28:08):
having fun rather than like having to really lock in
a build early.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
The end game.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
I mean, I haven't even gone to the end game
and Poe, but the endgame is I think, like kind
of a collection of some of their best modes basically
that I think people like in Poe one. So you
actually have like multiple choices on what kind of game
mode you play for the end game as well, and there's.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Kind of different spins on like got.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
To go fast, got to keep this buff going, don't
get hit kind of stuff as you go through that.

Speaker 6 (28:47):
I think another big thing for new players is being
able to refund skills in their passive skill tree, like
being able to do that with gold, because then I
know you can do that now in Path of exl
one with the last season, but for many years you
weren't able to do that, and that's why you always
hear this thing of like you got to get a
build now or you're going to be screwed forever. And

(29:09):
that kind of made it to where players didn't along
with the thing that you brought up, Mylin, it made
it to where players felt like they couldn't experiment with
stuff and come up with their own things.

Speaker 7 (29:18):
I mean, maybe you end up following a.

Speaker 6 (29:19):
Bill guide eventually anyway, but this actually allows you to
experiment without feeling like you're going to be locked out
of stuff, which is huge.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Yeah, so this is like kind of you can see
the evolution because some of these, like mechanics, they trial
in POE, so like they eventually added this ability to
see a vendor and refund your passive skill points, which
is that massive skill for ust that you see with gold,
so you know, if you make a mistake, you can
you can go backwards and then choose a different path,

(29:50):
because that's all what it's about, really is like min
macing what path you're on to like get the best build.
And it's pretty unforgiving in POE, whereas I feel like,
like you said, it's going to be a lot more
forgiving in per week two hopefully depends how much gold
you get, but I'm imagining like early refunding nodes is

(30:10):
actually cheaper anyways, So you can like kind of not
worry too much about having to have a build, And
there's not gonna be any build yet because all the
like the building like the building applications won't be up
and online. Yeah, for a couple of weeks, so like
people use third party applications to min max and decide
where you go on your skill tree to make sure

(30:32):
you hit all the right nodes and that won't be
up up and online for a couple of weeks, so
it'd be a great time to play without being criticized
for not having a build and.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
Just kind of go nuts and have fun.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
It's also they also have things where they recommend stuff
for you, so if you're like really not wanting to
dive into, you know, figuring stuff out yourself just yet,
you can just follow recommended things for a bit and
be fine until you kind of get your bearings and
think about what you want to do.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
And I think the support gems were like recommended, so like.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Yeah, you have your normal skills, and then like you
have support gems which modify skills and they really kind
of change how skill behaves. So a really basic example
is like a crossbow or like a grenade, a grenade
skill on the crossbow, the crossbow stoots a grenade. Yeah,
and then you can have a support skill that makes

(31:27):
it multiple grenades, multiple projectiles. Now you should two grenades
on it, and so that every class can use every
skill as well, yep, it's crazy, which provides a lot
of combinations of things to do.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
Yeah, I just want to say, if it looks like
my eyes are glazed over, why I'm listening to this
is because I know that I would like.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Pad of Eggs. I've always wanted to play it.

Speaker 5 (31:57):
But the amount of depth in the game, as I
understand it, and in two, it's it's a.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
You know, if you want to play it, it's.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
Probably not like something you can just play right for
ten or fifteen.

Speaker 7 (32:08):
Now.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
I think pathat Exil two is I think pathitve x
Al two is definitely a good entry point. I think
I think a lot of these changes we're talking about
is going to feel very familiar to a lot of people,
and you are not going to be as in a
position of I made a mistake and I've said X
amount of hours doing the wrong thing, especially for the campaign.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
Yeah, or maybe exactly, or maybe the campaign just has
that much to chew on because Diabo's you know, sort
of the model for that. But di Elbo four you
can play you know whatever, twenty hours just for the
first campaign and unlock some stuff and get a sense
of things, and then you can go deep and certainly
not as deep as I think pathov Exil. Uh, definitely not,
but uh but yeah, like that's why I think Diablo

(32:51):
for sounds or it looks approachable versus patof Exile.

Speaker 6 (32:57):
So well, yeah, that's you can jump in, and like
they have the first part of that campaign right now,
which will be an early access. So if you want
to jump in for early access, you're paying thirty bucks
for potentially a twenty five hour campaign, and the when
you spend the thirty dollars to get early access, you
actually get thirty dollars of like their micro transaction and stuff,

(33:21):
so you can buy Like yeah, so it's not like
you're you just paying for access. You also are getting
stuff that you can use. And then when it's actually out,
you know it's going to be it's going to be free,
and you can just jump in and choose to play
for i mean the campaign maybe like fifty hours of
a campaign, and then you can call it there or
you can keep going. It's it's kind of incredible they've

(33:42):
made it. They've made it streamlined and easy for new
players to get into without taking away any of the
stuff that makes Path of Excel really what it is.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
Yeah, so hopefully like overall it will be still it'll
be easy to get into and hot to Massa raw
then hod to get into and Hodds Master.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (34:04):
Yeah, you can also move with d Now you can use.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Twin Twin Steak is probably like the next biggest change
from one.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Controller apparently feels great with Diablo, was like the biggest
thing is like, wow, I can I could use a
controller now and Diablo. This makes it so much like
I don't know, more like just chill friendly, Like just
be able to walk around with a controller is amazing.

Speaker 6 (34:31):
Yeah, and you can do that in Poe two. It's
I mean, the thing that we saw from the early
preview that we shouldn't have seen yet, as they said
that it felt like it was created almost for control
at first with how good it feels, so huh yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Couch up as well, m you can play on the
couch to get out.

Speaker 5 (34:53):
Couch makes sense for like me, you could I haven't playing,
but to get like and Diablo, that's pretty standard as well.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
You know, you're just playing the same campaign together.

Speaker 6 (35:02):
And it looks good man like Poe two. The thing
that made me really want to play Poe two when
we first kind of saw it and in more of
its final form, was how good.

Speaker 7 (35:14):
It looks like. It is beautiful looking. It is a
very very good looking.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Like even better than Vampire Survivor.

Speaker 4 (35:22):
Even better than Vampire Survivor on your midball.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
The other the other big probably change from Peye one,
I don't think it's a big change is like just
I think the amount of bosses, like I think that's
it something like two hundred bosses or something like something
like bosses and boss mechanics. I think will probably be
a big difference between PAYO one and PE two as well.

Speaker 6 (35:48):
It looks more like kind of intentional combat wise, like
if you watch Poe two, it doesn't just look like
at least in the state it's it now where you're
just like spamming things. It looks a lot more like
intentional and how you're putting your skills together, the way
you're moving dodge to every class every class.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
Can roll and dodge.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
Now that's kind of neat. That's kind of my impression
of Poe one was like most of what I saw
was people just like just where there could just like
walk anywhere and just like rain destruction around them, like
nothing could even touch them until suddenly they ran across
something they could in fact kill them and did immediately.

Speaker 7 (36:32):
And the one shot.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
Yeah, yeah, that's my.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
Limited exposure to Poe's kind of like you are just
playing a spreadsheet like stat numbers, and you just like
do I win? Yes, no, and then then you go
back to like rebuilding, whereas it like, like what said,
I hope there's a little bit more of that, like, yeah,
intentional game play. I'm sure you you lose it once
you get at the top end. You got really crazy
powerful bills, But maybe that like intentional combat is a

(36:58):
little bit there for a bit longer.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting because, uh, you know, I
think you guys had thought about checking out like Diabo
for right, you don't have anything.

Speaker 4 (37:08):
The campaigns play the campaign Yeah.

Speaker 5 (37:10):
Okay, nice, but yeah, I love I can't wait to
hear you know, coming from that and now jumping into
like what I feel like is is more of a
deep end. But yeah, I mean I don't know, I
haven't looked closer.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
So yeah, I think I'm trying to remember, like why
I put Diablo fall down, and I think it was
the lack of the end game when it first came out.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
Yeah, there was only so much to do.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Yeah, me off before I even picked it up.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
Yeah, because you have to restart your characters. Yeah, I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
How it was.

Speaker 3 (37:42):
The same you have you have legs, which are their seasons,
and you you or your or your stuff gets transferred
to like the standard season, which is like everything's kept there,
and then when you stop like a new season, you
stop fresh.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (37:57):
People make that argument a lot for this type of game,
which I get, and that's why Diablo's kept to it.
But yeah, it goes back to the eternal realm, so
you don't lose your stuff, but like nobody's really playing
in the eternal realm.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
You start over and it's a sprint that's where you
have before.

Speaker 5 (38:12):
It has made tons of improvements which I had talked
about previously. It's it's the latest season is actually really
awesome and you know, awesome quality of life stuff. So
if you ever wanted to jump in, it's a good time,
but not not up against Poe two and now it's
probably a good time to jump into that one and
check it out.

Speaker 6 (38:27):
It really seems like this is going to be like
a huge, industry changing kind of game, like that's that's
kind of what we're where we're looking at.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
Yeah, I think it's gonna be round for a very
long time.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
I think Poe was like that first niche kind of
game had a really hardcore audience for a long time,
and then I've just try to remove some of those
barriers with keeping its its soul. And I think if
they've got that ride and you have an influx of
new people that can pick it up and easy to play,
and then you start learning the it's hard to masta.

Speaker 6 (39:04):
And twelve classes with three ascendancies each when the game's
in one point oh twelve classes, three advanced classes within
the twelve classes.

Speaker 7 (39:14):
Like it's it's.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
Great skills within your skills skills and.

Speaker 6 (39:17):
Your skills crafting and your crafting gems in your gems
pretty much.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Yeah, Yeah, I can't wait to hear more about it.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
Yeah, I've got the I've got the waking up of
the family. I told me, what if you got the kid?
I'm off, I'm gonna do work.

Speaker 7 (39:34):
I'm working.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
Yeah, I'm working here.

Speaker 6 (39:40):
We'll be playing that tomorrow. It comes out at eleven
a m. Pacific is when it goes live. I have
a scene ready and obs for q's so we can
watch just you know, we can watch I've decided we're
gonna watch Vati videos video. I haven't watched it yet,
his latest Lore video on elden Ring. So we're gonna
watch eld Lore while we're in the queue.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
While you're in the queue. Oh, that's brilliant to have,
like your game plan for queueing up. I love that.

Speaker 7 (40:07):
Yeah, just you know, got a little games plans. So
I have a window where you can see that I'm
in queue. You can have like the video. Yeah, it'll
be great.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
It could be contrary and play a little Diablo four.

Speaker 6 (40:17):
I don't want to play anything while I'm waiting with
it on my monitor because I can't keep an eye
on it.

Speaker 7 (40:22):
If I'm in like.

Speaker 3 (40:23):
A full screen name that would be the biggest rage
bite that Diablo four during a Q off.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Yeah, I like where your head's at, Frank, That's good.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
That's what I would do.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
It would be funny.

Speaker 6 (40:36):
Oh and also apparently they have one million pre orders
for Path of Excellent and this this was access for
early access, and this was before it went live for
pre orders on PlayStation.

Speaker 7 (40:50):
We got that number so crazy.

Speaker 4 (40:53):
So friend, you're told me like you're not going to
apply it.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Well, what I was getting right is I would like
to check it out.

Speaker 5 (41:02):
There's so much to play and in my backlog to
play a game that is technically an early access that
is super deep. And I know myself as I talk
about a lot, I'm like, I.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
I can't just take one bite.

Speaker 5 (41:15):
That's my issue, right, I can't just take a small
bite of the cake.

Speaker 7 (41:19):
Why I take a two week bite while the twitch
drops are active and then do something.

Speaker 5 (41:23):
But it's definitely I'm considering it for sure, and like
I've played so much Diablo for you know, I've played every.

Speaker 4 (41:29):
Yay, like you're the person that should be playing.

Speaker 5 (41:33):
I mean yeah, but you'll you know, I'm the opposite
perspective now, So you guys know more about Path of
Exile than I do, so I'll be going in more
fresh in that sense.

Speaker 7 (41:40):
But I don't know that much to be honest.

Speaker 5 (41:42):
Yeah, yeah, I'm absolutely considering it. But I already know
that I like the game. I just know I've Diablo
has been in my life since you know, almost you know,
I played video games and started playing video games, so
like I've always liked this type of game and and
maybe a related story is like, I've never ever played

(42:03):
World of Warcraft and it's because I know myself.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
I used to back in the day.

Speaker 5 (42:07):
I play some other of the original like Ultimate Online
it's and it's it's it's a time suck, and I
know myself.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
I I like how twitcht I like how twitch chat
is acting like the kids right now. Like dad said,
he's considering it, which I ain't playing it.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
That's a no.

Speaker 5 (42:27):
It's it's like when you ask your dad, like you
buy this, He's like, maybe think about it.

Speaker 6 (42:31):
Like now, you know, for I think it would be
okay to indulge yourself in something you like every now
and then, you guys are so not just.

Speaker 7 (42:40):
That you like that, you love that. You're like, oh,
I know this one's gonna eat.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
Me and it would be good to talk about with
everybody on the show.

Speaker 5 (42:47):
But I like, you guys are all the glasses of
kool aid now because you're drinking it, and you're like,
I just have some because we're drinking it.

Speaker 4 (42:56):
It's like six play a like call right.

Speaker 7 (42:58):
Yeah no, it TV's playing Hovey's playing Tift, he's thinking
of playing.

Speaker 4 (43:04):
Playing Did you say he's interested?

Speaker 7 (43:06):
He's interested he's interested.

Speaker 6 (43:08):
But see his point makes more sense in France point
because tifty is like, I have a.

Speaker 7 (43:13):
Full time jump.

Speaker 6 (43:16):
I can't just stream Path of Exile all day.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
She's such a it's entrapment.

Speaker 5 (43:23):
As soon as I touched Path of Exile too, she's
gonna pop in the stream and be like when you
can play elden Ring Deals Ran, you're still not playing.

Speaker 6 (43:31):
In Friends Finished and you're playing everything else except.

Speaker 5 (43:36):
See, I don't want to move off pat of Exile,
but what is also coming out that I'm interested in
is Indiana Jones.

Speaker 1 (43:41):
But yes, what's that coming out? Is that next week? Why?
Right now?

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Early access or advanced access.

Speaker 1 (43:47):
It's out now really on Xbox.

Speaker 5 (43:50):
Or everything, but not officially got to go early. Yeah,
move off pat of Exile if you guys aren't.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
That is a rough that's a rough launch window with
Marvel Rovals came out today.

Speaker 6 (44:06):
To Infinity, Nikki came out today, pass Path of Eggs
all till on the waken.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
Well, I'm just saying there's there's literally only one person
in my Twitch directory playing Indiana Jones right now.

Speaker 5 (44:21):
Yeah, well it is, and I think it is surprising
people because it is like it's it's a triple A
like big Xbox game, but it's like early advanced access
and technically it's out on the eighth and so in
other words, right, like, it's not like it's an online
game where like, you know, you're getting early access to
play with other.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
So can I play it today or no, I gotta
wait till you can.

Speaker 2 (44:42):
Play it right now?

Speaker 7 (44:42):
Yeah, you can play around.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
You have game Pass.

Speaker 5 (44:44):
You have to upgrade to the Premium edition, which I
think is like thirty five bucks, or you wait till
December eighth, or I think you pay like I think
it might be the one hundred dollars version or something
like that.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
But look, let's just cut to the chase.

Speaker 1 (44:56):
Wait the eighth if I'm just gonna play it on
game Pass, Yeah, okay.

Speaker 5 (45:00):
And none of us have played it, but I would
just point out that it is. It is probably for
a long time now for Xbox. It's getting high reviews
and high praise, and this is yeah, and I know,
you know, everybody's had their like from the outside take,
it's like it's first person shooter. We all want on
Charted and I'm like, I'm with you in concept, but

(45:21):
they gave it the machine games, who uh you highly
respected and apparently it's supposed to be pretty darn good,
so I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
That's great news. I didn't realize it was made by
Machine Games since like a week ago, and that hupped
my excitement level quite a bit because I really like
those Castle Wolfenstein games like a lot, so I'm really
looking They were fantastic.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
That's good.

Speaker 5 (45:45):
The last one was really solid, and that's this is
what they've been doing since.

Speaker 2 (45:50):
So what was the last one called brid Do you remember?

Speaker 1 (45:53):
There was that two player spin off with the two
sisters that wasn't that super well received.

Speaker 7 (46:01):
There was that I don't remember the name. You remember?

Speaker 1 (46:03):
Losses Wide too? Was the last big one? Right?

Speaker 5 (46:10):
No, well anyway, don't worry about it. But okay, machine gamer,
I'll find Oh was it? No, I'm looking at up
why we talked about it? There's like god, yeah, there's
so many of them. Yeah, Young Blood is the one
you're thinking of.

Speaker 1 (46:25):
Yeah, that wasn't super great.

Speaker 5 (46:27):
There's new colosses, the Old Blood, cyberpilot Man is a lot.

Speaker 1 (46:30):
Old Blood was a DLC like a side story DLC.
That was amazing. It was outstanding. They're all outstanding.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
Yeah, anyway, these folks are really good.

Speaker 4 (46:43):
But so you're playing that, are you.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
Yeah, I'm gonna check it out. So yeah, whether or
not I do.

Speaker 5 (46:49):
The whole thing right now or sort of sample and
finish it later, we'll see.

Speaker 6 (46:53):
So, you know, for the extra money, the extra money
to play now, you can play Path of Style plus
a little bit of nex money.

Speaker 5 (47:06):
Actually a reminder if anybody picks up of Exile, the
big deluxe editions, et cetera, you give free keys to
give out, so that's nice. Those are like one hundred
and fifty dollars version plus versions, but.

Speaker 4 (47:20):
Really you get some keys.

Speaker 1 (47:25):
Right, Mmm?

Speaker 6 (47:27):
Yes, So Fran's been doing a Game of the Year circuit,
although Metaphor is coming up, Frans, so if you're doing
the circuit, you better care out here.

Speaker 2 (47:34):
But I gotta check out Indiana Jones.

Speaker 5 (47:36):
But but yeah, we should make a quick note on Bilotto.
It is on the Game Awards right, which is next
week Game of the Year list, so it definitely stuck
out is hearing about it, and then it made that
list and I'm like, okay, it's like a poker based
game made by I think one dude.

Speaker 2 (47:55):
And what it is, Yeah, it's a rogue like poker game.

Speaker 5 (47:59):
So it's basically from my view in the four six
hours I've played or whatever it was, I stand up
pretty late. It's like, you know, the video gamification of poker,
if that makes sense, because poker is a game. Yeah,
then they add on basically you're playing poker hands, but
all the rules start to change with cards that you
keep in a deck above yours, So it is a

(48:20):
deck builder in that sense. So you go on a
run and you're effectively getting to the boss on each round,
and the boss is just scoring a high score, but
it comes with like a debuff, and so it might
be like all your spades are debuffs, so therefore you
get no points for those cards, and you're trying to

(48:41):
play around it might discard some of your hand like randomly,
so you know it's coming up and you have to
start deck building.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
So that's really what it is.

Speaker 5 (48:49):
It's a poker deck builder with these roguelike elements. And
one example might be you get not only eighty points
base plus a ten multiplier if you play three of
a kind, and so you're also you can level up

(49:09):
you're three of a kind to be a stronger combo.
So every score within poker, right, A pair, a two
pair straight whatever. You can level those up with these
joker cards you're on. You're buying decks in the game
with fake money, but it is in dollars. Yeah, earn
like twenty bucks and buy like a four dour pack

(49:30):
and just add stuff to your your deck. And so
again just to fully describe, it's like you might have
like last night I had like you know, god, I
must have had like twelve sevens, right, So in each
one of the you know, in clubs Hartstimes that I
had like three or four sevens apiece, so I was
able to like really you know, go into all four

(49:52):
of a kind and two pair and whatever. So you're
thinking about all that, and that's where it's like, not
only is it poker, and of course that's already been addictive,
it's in a really cool, like on your CRT by
the way, vibe. So it's almost like you're sitting at
the bar looking at a CRT kind of vibe with
the pixel style.

Speaker 2 (50:11):
So anyway, of course, it's.

Speaker 5 (50:13):
Tons of fun and a great job putting these like
really clever deck building things on top.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
And I've only scratched the surface.

Speaker 5 (50:18):
I think of some of the surprises of the way
to think about how far you get. But yeah, you
it's a run, and so in that sense, it's a
roguelike as well. Right, it's kind of like a rogue
light but also not because yeah, you go on an
entire run and build those decks and get as far
as you're getting. You're now you need to get forty
thousand points or whatever.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
But if you lose, you start your run over.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
Do you unlock anything like the buffs supermanently?

Speaker 5 (50:45):
Not the buffs, I believe, unless I miss that, But
you are unlocking like collections of cards, and this is
maybe the rogue light type element. You unlock decks. So
the deck that you choose to go on your run
with has a buff. So for example, each run you
have a certain amount of hands or a certain amount

(51:05):
of cards you can or discard moments, so anyway you'll
get a deck that might be like you have one
extra discard as part of your deck. So anyway, there's
a lot that I don't know, but I played Yep,
it was probably like five or six hours. But yeah,
it's awesome. I gotta say it. From a Game of
the Year perspective, just personally, I'm like, hey, man, like
poker and deck building is super addictive.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
I feel like and understand. Let me back this up.

Speaker 5 (51:31):
We've talked about Game of the Year a lot, and
I just want to put out there that, like, I
could absolutely see why Bilotro is people's game of the year.
When I look at the game of the year, I'm
a bit different from my favorite game. Isn't necessarily my
choice for game of the year. And that's why I
bring criteria up. You just got to know what the
criteria is. And for me, the criteria that i'd have

(51:52):
for Game of the Year, I have a lot of it,
you know. I think Blotro is just like a really addictive,
clever game, but probably not my game of the year.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
This is now free on Apple Arcade. And my mother
was complaining and how she's getting sick of Scrabble, which
she plays she plays competitively online and she's really fucking
good at it. So I'm like, hey, why don't you
check out this game? But Lastrow, it's a card game,
you might like it. So I downloaded it four on

(52:21):
her phone and I had lunch with her today and
she's like, you did me a real disservice giving me
this game because I play it constantly.

Speaker 7 (52:29):
Now that's amazing.

Speaker 1 (52:32):
Yeah, she's really enjoying. That's great.

Speaker 6 (52:34):
Yeah, everyone who plays it is like, yeah, this is
a very addicting, very good game.

Speaker 7 (52:40):
So and maybe by one.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
Dude, it's really super fun.

Speaker 1 (52:45):
Is it on game Gas as well?

Speaker 5 (52:49):
No, okay, it's fifteen bucks on all the major platforms.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
I don't think it's on Switch.

Speaker 5 (52:55):
I could be wrong, but but yeah, so you got
to pick it up for fifteen bucks, and unfortunately there's
but yeah or Apple.

Speaker 7 (53:04):
Right on your phone.

Speaker 1 (53:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (53:06):
It is a very small developer, so it's like completely understandable.
But another like shout out to we need cross save
as an injusty industry standard. Man, I would love to
like play, you know on my phone as well, but
I'm not going to run you know, two different elections
and decks and all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (53:22):
Yeah, yeah, thankfully I do have Vampire Saviors on my phone.
And thankfully that like the first time I played it,
I was like, I don't want to go through unlocking
all this stuff again because some of it can be
quite Yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
Oh yeah, you know, like.

Speaker 1 (53:41):
So thank thank god I'm not now addicted to it.
On my phone because I am fully back on my
steam deck. That Castlevania DLC that they released just got
me hooked, hook line and singer right back into it.
Unbelievable game. I hate it.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
Uh, talking of game pass, I played Stalker too. I
don't think I I think I yeah.

Speaker 6 (54:10):
Brian talked you into soccer to yeah because you were
like it and then you're.

Speaker 4 (54:15):
Like no, and then yep, I actually really liked it.

Speaker 3 (54:19):
I only did about five hours in it, but I
went in with like, I don't think this is my
kind of game, but Bryan's kind of talking it up.

Speaker 4 (54:27):
Let's see what it what.

Speaker 3 (54:28):
It feels like, And yeah, I had I got to
that question you're talking about with the guy in the
tower or like the sniper rifle, and and you know,
like taking like the dudes, you know, all the decision
making you can do, enjoy the theme, enjoy I mean,
maybe I'm a bit of a psycho, but I'd like
how I don't know if there was many consequences for

(54:50):
killing like NPC's I kind of like how it was
really post apocalyptic. You just like someone got congratulations, you
got the question, and you just decided either to shoot
them and get your item back or not. And it
was often like a reward for killing people because you
get there their portable scanner thing which would show you
like a loot cash. So I was like, no consequence

(55:13):
of killing NPCs, Have you got a bit of a
madis free?

Speaker 4 (55:19):
But I kind of liked it a lot.

Speaker 1 (55:21):
Yeah, Yeah, enjoyed it. I've been plucking away at it
as well. I've been finding that it's not it's not
engaging me, like long term, like I don't really feel
any reason to like stay with it.

Speaker 6 (55:34):
Is that you don't feel the need of like, oh
I'm gonna hop on stalker.

Speaker 1 (55:39):
Yeah, it's not. It's not. It doesn't have that. It
doesn't have that kind of poll of a game like
Elden Ring where I'm like, oh, I cannot wait to
see what's going on around here, because more than likely
it's it's kind of more of what I've been seeing,
you know what I mean? Yeah, Like that's right. The

(56:00):
the writing is good, the gunplay is fun, but ultimately,
like I feel like the best the best time I've
had with it was like the first ten to twelve hours,
and now I'm just like I'm getting a little aimless
with it and like it's it's time for me to
start making my own fun. But I'm not that kind
of gamer. Like I'm not a minecrafter, you know, I'm

(56:20):
a I want I want the game to give me
the fun direction. Yeah, yeah, I want more direction ultimately.

Speaker 7 (56:26):
Yeah that's fair.

Speaker 4 (56:27):
Yeah, but yeah, I'll just play it.

Speaker 3 (56:29):
I'll just played it in a game pass, so I
didn't didn't yes to buy it, so I just got.

Speaker 4 (56:33):
It a shot.

Speaker 1 (56:34):
Yes, I haven't had game Pass for years. I canceled
it years ago, and I finally got it again just
because of Stoker. There's a bunch of games, right Stocker
idiot Jones. There's another big one.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
That just came out, may be called Duty Campaign.

Speaker 1 (56:49):
I haven't played that downloaded well of Duty that's a
big download.

Speaker 2 (56:54):
Flight Simulator's like one hundred and twenty six.

Speaker 1 (56:56):
I guess flight Simular. That's right, the new flight simulator.
But people are not. They got that new flight simalator.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
Oh really yeah yeah. I apparently didn't know what the
update was, but I heard about it. That is why
I mentioned it.

Speaker 1 (57:07):
Yeah, less features than the last one, more buggy and
harder to run on really high NPCs.

Speaker 5 (57:14):
So you know, yeah, that game always has been though, Yeah,
because it's on their own engine. Yeah, that's the Plaguetail developer.
As a reminder, So it's on that custom engine Africa
it's called.

Speaker 2 (57:26):
But it's beautiful game.

Speaker 5 (57:30):
But yeah, it's one of the ones to like test
that if you got like a beastly rig So yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (57:35):
You ever get into fortsa at all browser, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
Absolutely.

Speaker 7 (57:42):
Gets his new career.

Speaker 1 (57:43):
Only I like it better. I'm gonna go let's see
if that name is.

Speaker 5 (57:52):
But yeah, like forts is always a good one as
well as part of game pass, meaning if you're looking.

Speaker 1 (57:56):
For more, I prefer the fors of motorsports more than
the fours of Horizons, whereas it's more structured, like the
races are on race tracks that repeat as opposed to
just like flying through the city, like getting from point
eighty point b as fast as possible is less fun

(58:17):
than me than trying to perfect a corner at one
hundred and twenty miles an hour.

Speaker 5 (58:23):
Yeah, it's like, I mean, Grand Turismo is what it
is for a reason, and I used to love it,
but man, it takes.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
A lot of practice. Yeah, especially if you use a wheel.

Speaker 1 (58:33):
The VR headset, the Sony VR headset. PSVR two has
been on sale for Black Friday. It's down to like
three hundred and fifty dollars, and I've been really thinking
about picking it up because of Grand Turismo. It's compatibility
just for that.

Speaker 5 (58:48):
Yeah, yeah, well you better get yourself PS five Pro
along with that. Then, you know, I don't know if
it affects the PSVR, wait is PIERSVR is.

Speaker 7 (58:59):
No, it's a mode in Grand trees On. It's not
its own thing, right, No.

Speaker 1 (59:03):
They don't have a special A mode.

Speaker 5 (59:06):
Yeah, yeah, but I knew that the one hundred and
twenty hrtz version with all the raid tracing and stuff
apparently is pretty dopey. So I don't know how to
affect that mode. But yeah, it's supposed to be a
nice upgrade.

Speaker 1 (59:16):
Yeah, driving games in VR is Chef's Kiss, best way
to play a driving game.

Speaker 7 (59:22):
Yeah, oh I can imagine. Yeah that makes sense.

Speaker 5 (59:24):
Yeah, actually, just real fast. I want to mention since
we talk about PlayStation is Astrobot. I played the speed
Run levels so much fun. They released five of those,
so if you never went back, they were releasing them
week on week and like that.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
So far, you know, I need to play other games.

Speaker 5 (59:42):
But it's certainly in the running for Game of the
Year for me, but I haven't played you know, Metaphor,
nor Final Fantasy nor elden Ring Deal, see which people
talked a lot.

Speaker 1 (59:50):
I need to play Final Fantasy for game of the.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
Year, you know, I think that other people would beg
to differ. I love the first one.

Speaker 5 (59:56):
But anyway, Yeah, if you played ASPA go, those levels
are so fun, and yeah, I forgot it's really tricky
because Astrobot isn't just jumping, you know, It's got like
all of the different power ups, whether it's sticky hands
or like the spring claw hands where you're climbing on
stuff and so tons of fun. And the leaderboards are fun.

(01:00:18):
Get your friends in there. But I mean, you can
compete against hundreds of thousands of others. So it was
very nicely ran.

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
I'm ordering a copy right now from best Buy. I'm
putting in Astrobot. Yep.

Speaker 7 (01:00:31):
The Astrobot is so fun.

Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
And by the way, if you just play it, it's
only like, yeah, ten to twelve hours mainline, if you're
not doing everything.

Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
I can't believe I haven't played it yet. I'm no
no longer. I'm fixing it nobody.

Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
Nobody distract him. Make sure he does.

Speaker 1 (01:00:49):
I added two copies, so there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
Hear that giveaway in bound?

Speaker 7 (01:00:58):
Yeah what ever.

Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
It's ten dollars off right now. I'm best by that count.

Speaker 7 (01:01:06):
Really really pretty new game.

Speaker 6 (01:01:09):
Yeah, USh, I was going to check out Dauntless today.
So Dauntless is the free to play monster hunter like
game that came out a while ago on your epic.

Speaker 5 (01:01:24):
I played it when it came out. I didn't even
know there was a thing happening.

Speaker 6 (01:01:29):
Well, it came out on Steam today and they basically
did kind of almost a They added like a new
season and new new stuff. It was like kind of
a new we're going to Steam, let's like kind of
relaunch it almost.

Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:01:42):
Well I didn't end up playing Daundless, oh no. And
the reason is because currently it's very negative on Steam.

Speaker 7 (01:01:53):
Now fit weird. Very negative.

Speaker 6 (01:01:57):
That means that seventeen percent of the reviews are positive,
very very very very few.

Speaker 7 (01:02:04):
So I think the best way.

Speaker 8 (01:02:06):
To put it is that is that the problem, no, no,
they to put it in the easiest possible way is
they've essentially made it to where you no longer go
and kill monsters to make their weapons an armor, you
have to purchase it with real money.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
Wait like bagar transactions. Yes, oh, you have fucked that
up so bad.

Speaker 6 (01:02:35):
Yeah, and removed weapons that people had, so they essentially
went from two hundred and fifty eight weapons to eighteen,
and six of them are free, which are just like
the weapon that you get. It's like getting you know,

(01:02:56):
your the first weapon that you pick up when you
put money rust and yeah, that's the thing you get.
And then twelve of them are paid why I don't know,
but imagine you have a build, right, you haven't played
Monster a World in forever. You come back to Monster
a World. You are a long sword made. All of

(01:03:19):
your long swords are gone except one puuke poo que
long sword, and they say you want another long sword.
That'll be ten dollars please.

Speaker 7 (01:03:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:03:28):
It's interesting because I thought the game had, you know,
just gotten so low support that it kind of had
just died out.

Speaker 2 (01:03:36):
I hadn't kept up with it.

Speaker 4 (01:03:37):
So there's just one final money grab before they give
up on it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
What happened to that CEO that changed the pricing model
for Unity? Did he move over to Dauntless?

Speaker 7 (01:03:49):
I don't know if this is entirely true or not.

Speaker 6 (01:03:53):
But I think I remember some hubbub about like a
crypto guy buying out something, because that would make sense.
But like this is this is crazy, like you and
they even have like some moves in the game that
are specific to having two weapons, but like they don't
give you two weapons, and it's it's this is like

(01:04:16):
the craziest thing I've seen. To just take stuff away
from your players and let's take give me money to
get it back.

Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
That sucks.

Speaker 3 (01:04:22):
Yeah, if you've gone the game, go in and have
a little I'm interested to say what you said.

Speaker 7 (01:04:26):
Yes, please do I would be so curious.

Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
This a PC games story, It sounds close.

Speaker 7 (01:04:32):
There's no weapon crafting.

Speaker 6 (01:04:34):
They so they added loop boxes, which wasn't there before
they removed weapon crafting, and you can only buy it now.

Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
So check this out.

Speaker 5 (01:04:43):
I'm reading a PC gamer story that says, uh, back
in twenty twenty three, it was acquired by blockchain company
four K.

Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
Is that part of it?

Speaker 5 (01:04:54):
But also they had layoffs in May, So if it
was acquired by a blockchain company, we've answered all questions. Yeah, yeah,
the dogecoin killed it apparently, if that's the case.

Speaker 6 (01:05:08):
Unlike they were, this is really unfortunate because like the
game before this was fine.

Speaker 7 (01:05:13):
It hadn't really been getting.

Speaker 6 (01:05:14):
A lot of updates, right, but people were still kind
of logging in and playing it, and people were actually
pretty excited to check it out on Steam. Like I was,
I was thinking, you know, I'm gonna check it out
on Steam. I've never played it before, and now I'm like,
well never mind. So you know, wow, that's one way
to make sure you don't get anything out of people.

Speaker 7 (01:05:32):
I guess.

Speaker 2 (01:05:34):
Yeah's some juicy stuff on this now that we're reading.

Speaker 7 (01:05:38):
It's very interesting.

Speaker 5 (01:05:40):
Blockchain game Company or game platform fourte Labs, Phoenix Labs,
and Romo Games. Sometime at twenty twenty three, under a
shroud of secrecy, reports Game Developer. Former workers tell Game
Developer they were told to keep the purchase a secret.
This was a report from Game Developer back in October
twenty twenty four. Wow, you know, just like a month
or two and so this is pretty juicy stuff.

Speaker 6 (01:06:02):
Well now we can were like, did a crypto guy
take this over?

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:06:07):
Yeah, crypto bro, it is not insane.

Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
Well, how are the shareholders because.

Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
They wants you didn't want to play it because that
this makes you want to play it.

Speaker 6 (01:06:20):
So there's actually like there's someone who I follow who's
a big, a big monster hunter guy on Twitter and
he had played daunt Was before, but his friend never plays.
So it's like, I'm going to make a brain new
account to see what like this new player thing is
and play with my friend and he kind of documented
his step by step experience of going through it, and

(01:06:41):
it's it's crazy. I was just like, what is going on?
They just throw quests at you and loop boxes and
here you should you should buy this from the store,
and all your weapons are gone, all you can't make
really builds anymore.

Speaker 7 (01:06:55):
It's they've got it the game.

Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
And they changed it on Epic as well, like.

Speaker 6 (01:07:00):
Yeah, this was like their new patch for their their game,
and he.

Speaker 1 (01:07:05):
Just launched, So launched on Steam like this and then
was updated to be like this on Epic.

Speaker 7 (01:07:10):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (01:07:11):
That sucks me. I feel bad for the players who
put a lot of time.

Speaker 5 (01:07:14):
Yeah yeah, I mean and the Davs too. It sounds
like they were gutted back in May. There's a lot
of layoffs and so yeah, it sounds like just the
takeover and then mismanaged probably and now they're just trying
to melk it for whatever money can put money in there,
you know, f round and find out too. Though with
Steam reviews, this is usually a pretty like you normally
you're not going to get past that. Meaning I don't

(01:07:38):
know too many games that manage any success if they
get hit with that many negative Steam reviews and this.

Speaker 7 (01:07:44):
Yeah, it's like the only time I see this.

Speaker 6 (01:07:47):
The only time I see this is yeah, when people
are like review bombing it for something, this.

Speaker 7 (01:07:52):
Is like you deleted my game.

Speaker 6 (01:07:54):
I kind of there's you have a monster on a
light game where I can't craft weapons?

Speaker 4 (01:07:59):
What's going on from the monsters?

Speaker 6 (01:08:01):
Yeah, yeah, you can't can't get it from the monster anymore.

Speaker 5 (01:08:04):
Yeah, I played the games when it first came out.
I've kind of forgot about that talking about Monster Hunter stuff.
But I really enjoyed it. It was very like, yeah,
it felt almost like a very simple call it Fortnite
of Monster Hunting of like his very vibrant and like
kind of the basics, and it was it was fun enough.

Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
So yeah, I'm really sorry to hear that.

Speaker 5 (01:08:25):
Yeah, but I mean back in the day when it
first came out, I think some people just because it
was free to play Monster Hunter and that's I guess
in some ways, right, So it was kind of fun.
But then there just wasn't enough to do and there
was too many other games to play as usual.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
But that's sad to hear.

Speaker 6 (01:08:40):
Yeah, yeah that happened. So then I was like, oh,
I'll download Infinity Nikki.

Speaker 5 (01:08:46):
So I downloaded Infinity like Crypto.

Speaker 6 (01:08:50):
Infinity Nikki is uh, it's actually it's actually a very
good game that's gotten very very good reviews. It's getting
like nines and stuff across the board. This was a
this was an actually back at the its original game
was a mobile game. It's a dress up game. You
get outfits, you dress up, you explore the world.

Speaker 2 (01:09:07):
Yeah, dressing up. What do you call it? A character?
Is it like a your character?

Speaker 6 (01:09:16):
And then they they wanted to make an open world,
an open world dress up game.

Speaker 7 (01:09:20):
And it's essentially like an.

Speaker 6 (01:09:22):
Adventure, puzzle combat exploration game, and you get outfits and
different outfits can have different powers too, and.

Speaker 7 (01:09:34):
It is makes it's free. It is a free to
play gotcha game.

Speaker 6 (01:09:39):
However, the gotcha is for outfits for you to like,
not dress dress your character, not the characters.

Speaker 7 (01:09:48):
No, no, it's one character it's not like a wifu dress.

Speaker 6 (01:09:51):
No no, And then that there are outfits that give
you abilities. All of those are in game, so like
there's a fishing outfit, there's a animal grooming outfit, there's
a gliding outfit that those are ones that you.

Speaker 7 (01:10:03):
Find in game.

Speaker 6 (01:10:05):
There's there's but the gotcha stuff is just like fashion
that you put on your character.

Speaker 7 (01:10:12):
Yeah, it's gotten really good reviews, Like people.

Speaker 6 (01:10:14):
Were saying that how Genschin kind of did for open
world gotcha games and really put it on the map.

Speaker 7 (01:10:20):
They think Infinity.

Speaker 6 (01:10:21):
Nikki is like the next kind of one to have
an impact like that.

Speaker 7 (01:10:26):
So it's on Epic. Now you go check it out.
It's on Yeah, it's on Epic and it's free.

Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
It's right, Oh okay, nice, yep.

Speaker 1 (01:10:39):
Wrong.

Speaker 6 (01:10:40):
I was like I was playing, I was like, why
the cutscenes are so good?

Speaker 7 (01:10:46):
What do you find?

Speaker 5 (01:10:47):
What do you buy that you spend real money on
and then adds to the game.

Speaker 7 (01:10:51):
Just clothes, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:10:53):
Just better clothes, but you get closes for free, of you.

Speaker 6 (01:10:56):
Get closed for free, and you get the outfits that
actually do abilities for free.

Speaker 7 (01:11:00):
In the game.

Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
It's a fashion show.

Speaker 6 (01:11:03):
It's a fashion game where you're also like muscles and
you know how you're you're doing endgame fashion stuff. Well
now you're doing it the whole game.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
I mean, sorry if I missed it all.

Speaker 5 (01:11:18):
How do they balance that though, considering you just buy
like really awesome outfits, Like, doesn't that ruin the whole? Like,
like if I could just buy something that's probably clearly better.

Speaker 4 (01:11:30):
Why is it a subjective fras.

Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
Single single player though?

Speaker 1 (01:11:33):
Isn't it?

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
You don't want to it's single nobody else in your world.

Speaker 4 (01:11:36):
It's the people.

Speaker 5 (01:11:39):
That's why I was thinking that you might be like
going and interacting with some other people somewhere, which would
also be cool, But okay.

Speaker 6 (01:11:47):
It's yeah, you take pictures, do some little poses and yeah,
pretty sweet.

Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
Nick. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:11:55):
I was like, okay, I'm not gonna play Duntless, so
I'll check out this one. I'm I wish I was
able to get on earlier because I would have actually
loved to have played more. The characters are really funny,
the the game is really pretty. Everyone has been pretty
surprised by like how good the story is.

Speaker 7 (01:12:11):
It seems like it's just a solid game.

Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
It's both pretty and it's pretty.

Speaker 7 (01:12:15):
Yeah exactly.

Speaker 5 (01:12:17):
Speaking of fashion. Should we touch on the donning at all?

Speaker 7 (01:12:21):
The downing is it's coming.

Speaker 5 (01:12:25):
It was just a swab update today, so that was
that was mostly it.

Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
So should we mention that real fast? Maybe?

Speaker 7 (01:12:33):
Yeah, go for it.

Speaker 6 (01:12:34):
Yeah, you can be a dragon if you give them money.

Speaker 7 (01:12:38):
The dragon's pretty cool.

Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
The dragon outfit, the donning, the donning outfit, you got
like little dragon wings.

Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
I missed that, but yeah, the downing starts next week.

Speaker 5 (01:12:47):
I guess one new thing is part of it is
there's some exclusive emblems and they're sorting like cookie baking
out by weeks in terms of which types of cookies,
and you'll contribute to like a community event, which they
increases the chance for these rare emblem drops to drop.

Speaker 7 (01:13:03):
I guess right. Ah, yes, I remember.

Speaker 6 (01:13:07):
That's how I heard about it because they were like, ah,
emblem sellers get destroyed, bitch.

Speaker 5 (01:13:12):
Yeah, like I get like, basically from what I understand,
it's mostly the same. I mean, the outfits look great,
and all the ghosts look great, and you know, you
can have a gift wrap, sparrow all that stuff. But
then these gift and return packages they'll have some rare
exclusive emblems. But you can do community event stuff you
want to get out there and bake.

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
So that's the most of it.

Speaker 5 (01:13:32):
But then it also has a void linear fusion rifle
which will be dropping with envious arsenal and bait and switch.
And there's your bait and switch right there is if
you want a really powerful weapon. Probably it sounds like
if you want that linear fusion, you want to hop in.

Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
So that starts next week. I think that was most
of it.

Speaker 6 (01:13:55):
It was most of it was mostly talking about emblems
in the twid and that bringing back the Love Prize
fashion emblem.

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
So oh yeah, the fashion emblement.

Speaker 5 (01:14:05):
That that was part of what I was thinking about,
is they had the fashion emblem in there.

Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
So and there is if any of us.

Speaker 5 (01:14:11):
I still play myself sometimes, but twitch Sube emblem will
be happening as well. So there's a Dungeon emblem you
can pick up by supporting a streamer out there that
you like in the Destiny community and give them one.
So yep, that was the most of it I did.
Maybe just on the topic of Destiny. I played the

(01:14:32):
Dungeon again for my third run, very enjoyable, and I've
just kind of been trying to stay fresh with it
and run it every once in a while, maybe get
an icebreaker.

Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
But I played.

Speaker 5 (01:14:42):
I told myself, I actually told you Watts, I said,
I'm protesting. I am not playing Iron Banner. You're asking
me to get a rocket side arm in Iron Banner
that I'm not even gonna use in PvP that looks
like a PvP gun. It's such like trying to get
you to play. But I finished the dungeon, you know,
so fast than I was finishing that. I was like,
I'll just play and grab it. And so yeah, that

(01:15:04):
wasn't like super enjoyable. But I did get the rocket
side arm. But that is still out there for days
to come now. So if you want the statis rockets arm,
you gotta go get it an iron banner.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
It's really a lame though. I wanted to call that
part out.

Speaker 5 (01:15:18):
It's I know this, it's not the first time in
Destiny they kind of put stuff in certain places. PBP
players especially get screwed all the time. However, it's super
odd to have like a new dungeon, you know, a
new seasonal episode thing, and like a rocket sidearm you're
putting an iron banner like put it somewhere else. And
also if I just hope they release it elsewhere in

(01:15:40):
the PVEE Wild. But they should have announced something like
that ahead of time, I think, just I don't know
how you guys feel, but it would have been nice
if they were like, look, iron banner, it's in there now,
it will be coming elsewhere later, but like there's I
don't even think there's any note of that.

Speaker 7 (01:15:54):
So anyway, I don't think they've done that really. I mean,
that's if it's like an iron banner.

Speaker 5 (01:16:00):
But ur banners only up what twice.

Speaker 6 (01:16:03):
It's not very it's not very often. Yeah, it's really short, so.

Speaker 5 (01:16:07):
It might be a total four weeks, but it's anyway,
I just think they need to put it out there
elsewhere as part of the episode.

Speaker 6 (01:16:15):
So well, I the thing that I saw about Destiny
was mostly people Paul Tassi talking about stuff, and people
talking about Poul Tassi talking about stuff, and Paul Tassi
basically he put out an article and a video talking
about how the bugs in Destiny have just gotten absolutely

(01:16:37):
out of control, and he was saying it's gotten to
the point where the community can't trust things to be
working anymore. Where you know, normally it would be like, oh,
it's just Rang.

Speaker 7 (01:16:46):
You get it. Now You're like, oh, well, is there
a bug with Rang? Is there a bug with the Tonics?

Speaker 6 (01:16:51):
Because essentially what happened is we had the big thing
that we talked about with weapons. Yeah, and then there
was another thing that happened with the Tonics of this
season where the Tonics are basically not working properly, like
increasing your whatever drop rates of stuff, all all that stuff.

Speaker 7 (01:17:07):
Is not working.

Speaker 6 (01:17:09):
And I think I just responded to Paul as like,
this is what happens when you let go of most
of your QA department, Like, this is gonna it's gonna
keep getting worse even if you outsource it.

Speaker 7 (01:17:19):
These aren't QA.

Speaker 6 (01:17:20):
That are like integral a part of Bungee and Destiny.
You know, when you have QA that are on site
and they know the game and they know what to
look for and test and all that, you're gonna catch
more stuff. So yeah, it's it's not gonna get any better.

Speaker 7 (01:17:35):
It's going to keep happening.

Speaker 1 (01:17:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:17:39):
I assume their plan is to lean more on like
PlayStation services and all that, which we know they're integrating
a bit and there's going to take some time to
spin up. But I agree, like there's no true comparison
to having people at Bungee who are in that mix
and have been in the mix for a very long time,
and maybe we're seeing some results of that right now.

Speaker 1 (01:17:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:17:59):
I mean it's a hard with Like I think nearly
every game developer talks about how much you can reasonably
test in a game versus when it goes live and
you have millions of people playing it and you discover
all this stuff you know very quickly because you have
just a huge data pool.

Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
But I think there is an exception.

Speaker 3 (01:18:18):
There is like a minimal viable product that needs to
go out, that has a minimal amount of testing, that
does what it says it does, right.

Speaker 4 (01:18:27):
I think that's what the expectation is.

Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
Is like if you're doing a bar or you're like
grinding for something, especially a loot and Truder game, but
it kind of does it.

Speaker 1 (01:18:37):
And if you're.

Speaker 3 (01:18:37):
Getting bugs those level of bugs sliding through to the public,
you know, that's when you start losing confidence in your community,
or community starts in confidence in you.

Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
You know, exactly.

Speaker 7 (01:18:50):
Yeah, there's one thing.

Speaker 6 (01:18:51):
It's one thing to have, like an exotic that doesn't
work properly, right, and they have to deceivel it and
work on it. And there's another thing for an entire
integral system of the game and the season to not
be working working.

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I should know.

Speaker 5 (01:19:06):
I was digging into it, and like Bungie helped did say,
they pushed out an update that should resolve issues with
two of the Elder's tonics.

Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
This was about five hours ago. They have an update
on there about it. But I thought, so what this
was about.

Speaker 5 (01:19:18):
It's not that they're not acting or responding, no, no.

Speaker 4 (01:19:22):
But it's going out broken and I think that's the point.

Speaker 6 (01:19:24):
Right, Well, it's also those people who haven't been able
to play the season because they haven't been able to
make a tonic and that wasn't fixed. So for people
who just have one character, you know, they haven't been
able to even experience this season yet.

Speaker 4 (01:19:38):
So it's an episode.

Speaker 6 (01:19:41):
Well that's changing, and when's Frontiers coming out?

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
Don't get me my breakdown.

Speaker 7 (01:19:48):
It's going to seasons, so we might as well just
quit right now.

Speaker 5 (01:19:51):
Oh god, it's got Oh it's so confusing though, Miland
because not it's not just season. There's you know, two
expansions a year which are split into fours, which have
not only two passes for four things.

Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
It's very complicated, trust me, it's different.

Speaker 5 (01:20:12):
But go if you are ever you want to have
some fun with it, go look at their Frontiers update
thing and they show you a chart with like, you know,
milestone bars kind of just showing where things are happening.
It's just it takes a moment where you're like, oh,
it's called a season pass, but this part's not a
season like that type of thing's happening.

Speaker 4 (01:20:32):
It's fun, Oh I say it.

Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
Yeah, Oh that was interesting. But yeah, so we got
we were in for a ride. You know.

Speaker 5 (01:20:44):
Act three is out early next year, and then Frontiers
hopefully stays on track for June.

Speaker 4 (01:20:52):
Got anything else exciting coming up?

Speaker 1 (01:20:56):
I've been back into Street Fight or six, A new
patch came.

Speaker 7 (01:21:02):
Out, A new character's coming too, Well, my.

Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
Is coming soon. We don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:21:06):
They uploaded the trailer today, Well they did.

Speaker 1 (01:21:08):
I haven't seen the trailer yet. I'll watched that as
soon as I bet it's good.

Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
Did you buy your Destiny emotes and stuff for Street Fighter?

Speaker 6 (01:21:16):
Brier?

Speaker 2 (01:21:17):
No, get you into the ever you said you were
gonna do it?

Speaker 1 (01:21:20):
Yeah, it was exciting and I forgot immediately, probably for
the best. But they they released a new patch. I
think it was a December second, so just a few
days ago, and they buffed my character, which was awesome.
They gave me a They gave me a bunch of

(01:21:40):
new uh cool toys to play with, and some of
my old toys are more powerful than ever, which is awesome.
They also nerved other characters that I have trouble against,
like za Jief and UH Cammy and Ed, which was awesome. Really,

(01:22:02):
it was the perfect patch for Street Fight or six.
In my opinion, I got more powerful and other people
got less powerful. Yeah, yeah, patch, Yeah, it was perfect.

Speaker 3 (01:22:15):
Are you with the minority for this, Briar? Are you
in the majority for this?

Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
I think it's It depends honestly on who your character is.

Speaker 6 (01:22:25):
Anyway, all Zangif players couldn't just be quick.

Speaker 1 (01:22:29):
I love watching Zangief players like a tournament, but I
don't want to play any of them. They had this,
They had this awful mechanic. It was just awful. It
was basically cheating where they could cancel jumps and they
would use that to UH supply to give it to

(01:22:49):
make it take sixty percent of your damage away, and
there was nothing you could do about it. Like you
would go up and like try and throw them, and
your throat would just like not to anything, and then
they would give you like a three sixty SPD and
you'd be dead. So they took their ability to do
that away, which is great because it was cheating and
you'd fucking know it. But yeah, I'm I'm having fun

(01:23:15):
playing that. I'm really looking forward to the Capcom Cup
is coming up. Some players are a little miffed that
there were such big changes to the game right before
Capcom Cup, but that's still four months away. It's in
March or three months, I guess March fifth. So I'm
looking forward to that. That's my Street Fighter six update
for the month.

Speaker 6 (01:23:34):
I'm just I just need more Wiles. On my mind
is Moncedona. While I was actually forgetting how much I need,
I was putting it to the side of my brain.
I was like, Okay, I'm getting used to not having
any information.

Speaker 7 (01:23:46):
It's okay.

Speaker 6 (01:23:47):
And then they came out with all of this and
it's back again. So I am really hoping that for
Path of exl it not. I know, I'm going to
enjoy it because I like these games I have for
you know, so long, but I hope it just I
love it so much. Yeah, I want to wake up
tomorrow play Path of Exile blink and it's February twenty eighth.

Speaker 7 (01:24:06):
Yeah, that's what I'm kind of baige.

Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
Yeah, it's not far away, but it is far away.

Speaker 7 (01:24:11):
It's it's not and it's going fast, you know.

Speaker 6 (01:24:13):
I think about how we were doing the show where
it was Halloween and I was answering the door like
not that often long ago, and now it's almost Christmas.

Speaker 4 (01:24:25):
Christmas is snockout real good.

Speaker 7 (01:24:27):
It's really really soon.

Speaker 6 (01:24:29):
And oh, just to give you a little update, I
thought i'd give you a little update on Marvel Rivals
how it's doing, because we didn't.

Speaker 1 (01:24:36):
I haven't.

Speaker 7 (01:24:36):
I played like a little Me and Mile and.

Speaker 6 (01:24:38):
Played a little bit of it oh today yeah, no,
a little bit during a test phase, during.

Speaker 2 (01:24:44):
A something closed alpha whatever. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:24:47):
But there's currently four hundred and twenty three thousand people playing,
and it peaked it's four hundred and forty four thousand
an hour ago, so the numbers are pretty nuts.

Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
I didn't like it at all.

Speaker 6 (01:25:03):
I love the art, like the art and the character
kits and all of that looks so good.

Speaker 7 (01:25:10):
But I didn't like the gameplay.

Speaker 3 (01:25:12):
I mean, yeah, that was my only well, I mean
I just well that I didn't like it. I just
felt like i'd applied this guy before.

Speaker 1 (01:25:18):
Is this the one that's like Overwatch with Marvel characters? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, ok, person,
so that you guys like about it, and.

Speaker 6 (01:25:28):
Then it's kind of just like it's like poking away
at people until you get your ultimate and then everyone
presses their ultimate and then you'd rinse a repeats.

Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
In that sense too. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
Interesting.

Speaker 5 (01:25:39):
I know a lot of people that like it, but yeah,
for me, as just someone who you know, appreciates the
detail and polishing Overwatch, you know, it's different.

Speaker 2 (01:25:48):
It's the first PURSUITO.

Speaker 5 (01:25:49):
But this clearly like copies its homework in so many ways,
even if it mixes it up and then puts Marvel
into it, which I know is exciting, but as you've
heard me talk about, I just don't like that practice
of like, well, we copied a bunch of homework. We
use the Marvel license, and you know it's free to
play as well, and so that's going to affect those

(01:26:10):
teams and communities and like you do have to compete.
It's honestly it's it's relevant that X Defiant just is Sunsetting.

Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
That's also big find they're all together.

Speaker 5 (01:26:22):
In one big like battle, right, meaning like in theory,
this could put the Overwatch team out of business, even
if it's not as polished and good. If it's good
enough and I you know whatever, I know some people
who are super into it, and they're doing some really
fun stuff with the characters.

Speaker 7 (01:26:37):
If you're in the Marvel But but it's a solid game.
It's just not Yeah, it's not what I want.

Speaker 3 (01:26:44):
I think the Marvel skin is giving is carrying it hard.
Like I think if it didn't have the Marvel skin,
I think it.

Speaker 1 (01:26:51):
Would trust these days, I don't think the Marble skin
kind of holds sway. Like what was that game by
the guys who did Batman that kind of bomb that
was deep, Yeah, and then Guardians of the Galaxy, which
was a fantastic game kind of bombed. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:27:09):
I mean, I think it'll be interesting to say what
the playbase looks like in a couple months.

Speaker 9 (01:27:14):
Yeah, that's what I keep an eye on it. Does
it have the depth again? You know, it's it's different
than overwatched. It's third person, it's faster paced, like you
were getting at Watts. It's definitely go a different feel,
but I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (01:27:26):
I think it feels like still Dishwater Overwatch in that sense,
and like it just doesn't have the polace. The levels
are nowhere near is artful and like amazing, and yeah,
I just you know, you can love and hate the
balance and Overwatch and how ranked matches probably going.

Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
I'm not that type of player, but when I play that.

Speaker 7 (01:27:43):
Game, it is just just they are.

Speaker 5 (01:27:46):
On just like another level Blizzard, right, And so when
I can't play something like Marvel Rivals and just sort
of enjoy it for what it is, I'm constantly like comparing,
you know, and I'm like, I don't know, this is
just like an Unreal Engine five like GENI level, except
nowhere near is good.

Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
And then I'm like, man, I'm out, so but I
don't want to hear. I know, some people like.

Speaker 7 (01:28:06):
Keep an eye on it, really enjoy it.

Speaker 6 (01:28:07):
They want to say that their characters do go a
long way for like their character art, because I see
them announce a new character and I'm like, that character
looks really cool and it makes me.

Speaker 7 (01:28:17):
Want to try it.

Speaker 6 (01:28:18):
As someone who has no interest in it, really so yeah,
I'm sure people who are interested in Marvel or like
those kind of games see the characters and want to
want to try them out.

Speaker 5 (01:28:28):
Yeah, and I say, I think self hypocritically, I am
a defender of at least of like, hey, like you
don't always need to play everything for like years and
months at a time, Like maybe you just hop in
for a few weeks and you enjoy it and you're
out again. I don't love free to play games, but
that's just the state of what we need to have
this amount of players in these types of games.

Speaker 3 (01:28:46):
So you know, well, I mean it definitely the best
one to play these games is on rayleys largest population.

Speaker 7 (01:28:54):
People haven't figured it out.

Speaker 4 (01:28:57):
No metas like formed yet. You know.

Speaker 3 (01:29:01):
Yeah, no one's yelling at you for not using whatever character.

Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
Just play what you think is fond.

Speaker 1 (01:29:06):
They're gonna yell at you no matter what.

Speaker 7 (01:29:12):
Guys, could we I don't.

Speaker 6 (01:29:14):
I'm gonna post this Lincoln chat if you haven't seen it, Okay,
can we talk about.

Speaker 5 (01:29:20):
Light of mat God speaking of copy and homework.

Speaker 6 (01:29:25):
That's why I wanted to, That's why that's where I'm
getting at.

Speaker 4 (01:29:28):
That's all the res of the ghosts. What was this
guy again.

Speaker 6 (01:29:35):
Light of Mossroom was announced this week. It's on all
the all the sides even PlayStation Official PlayStation has put
up a trailer of the game. It is an open world,
multiplayer survival game set in a lush world where nature
meets machine and people caught fire on the internet because

(01:29:56):
people saw it and we're like, oh, Horizon has a
new update.

Speaker 7 (01:30:00):
And then quickly learned, oh, that's not Horizon.

Speaker 1 (01:30:04):
Wow. Sure looks like Horizon. Wow. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:30:07):
This game has like ghosts from Destiny and they literally
wake the people up and say wake up. I was
waiting for the Guardian to happen. We've seen animations that
are like frame by frame the same as Elder Ring,
so it's like Horizon, Elder Ring, Destiny, Monster Hunter.

Speaker 7 (01:30:28):
And then also there's pals. There's robot pals. Oh, and
then the built crafty is one to one of our.

Speaker 2 (01:30:35):
Yeah I did.

Speaker 10 (01:30:38):
And the top the top, the top comment on this
chat on the YouTube video is my non game of
wife saw me watching the trailer and said, you've already
played that.

Speaker 1 (01:30:54):
Oh my god. The robot pelicans.

Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
Yeah, it's really frustrating.

Speaker 5 (01:30:59):
The by the way, first of all, it nowhere looks
as near as good as like Horizon. It does look
good from a shiny level, but meaning the Decima engine
and that team again kind of we were getting out with Blizzard.

Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
They're just incredible.

Speaker 5 (01:31:13):
But when you see certain things in here, just the
way that things pop with the neon electric edges, and
it's completely stolen style totally even like yeah, the armorying
on and it's shameless. And so whether or not it's
not gonna be the gameplay of Horizon, like Watts was standd,
but it's even worse than it copies all these other
ones and then it takes that and and it's free

(01:31:35):
to play.

Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
Is there any gameplay in this?

Speaker 3 (01:31:38):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (01:31:38):
There is.

Speaker 6 (01:31:39):
They have released gameplay. Yeah, so I'll post a gameplay
link as well. That's literally just like the gameplay.

Speaker 7 (01:31:46):
So you can see what to expect.

Speaker 6 (01:31:48):
I mean, honestly, looking at it, the combat doesn't look
bad because I mean they've taken animations.

Speaker 5 (01:31:53):
I think a monster huntery slash.

Speaker 6 (01:31:56):
There's there is a monster hunter move in there. Almost
it's it's I'm pretty sure it's framed by frame. But
you'll see in the gameplay that I've posted it's them crafting,
you know, typical crafty stuff gone, there a little ghosts
next to them getting their robo pals.

Speaker 5 (01:32:12):
It is a perfect segue, Watson, an example of like
what I was getting at is the reason I know
that I'm like annoying about it.

Speaker 2 (01:32:21):
Let's just put it be upfront.

Speaker 5 (01:32:23):
But I complain about it so much because like, this
game may actually be totally decent, and the defense tends
to be like, actually, it's not a bad game. You
should give a shot. But I'm like, yeah, it's free
to play. Look around. You know, Star Wars Outlaws struggling,
maybe Indy will struggle, you know, who knows. But meaning
the time economy is what I think a lot about.
Xifying actually was a really solid competitor in a different

(01:32:46):
way that was free, but couldn't compete with Call of Duty.
But the point is like people are living and dying
by this type of stuff, and so yeah, bums me
to see. Even if let's say the game is actually
totally decent, it concern and me that.

Speaker 2 (01:33:02):
You look at it.

Speaker 5 (01:33:03):
And it seems like, yeah, why is Sony publishing trailers?

Speaker 6 (01:33:06):
And you know what I mean, I'm I'm surprised because
I'm like, this is like all of your games it's
just like and then power.

Speaker 1 (01:33:16):
I've some anthem in here.

Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
Okay, wait take it. I take it that what I said, there's.

Speaker 7 (01:33:22):
An anthem spiritual successor I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:33:24):
In you can't put them out of business? Well you
had me at an anthem. Let's god, isn't it crazy?
I feel like we brought this up on the ship
for me.

Speaker 5 (01:33:38):
Maybe not, but yeah, when is somebody gonna steal anthem?
It's not happening anywhere. Yeah, go do that that that one.
I'll give you a pass.

Speaker 3 (01:33:45):
Yeah, I'll plays like and someone I have been steal destiny.

Speaker 7 (01:33:50):
Like do another one?

Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
Well yeah, yeah, it's concerning looking at it.

Speaker 5 (01:33:59):
So and the christ PlayStation does anything or ken like
what's the president? We know Nintendo, you know, went after
Powell World eventually because it was so blatant. Again, even
if some of the gameplay stuff was different, the design
stuff was infringement.

Speaker 6 (01:34:13):
And so these guys are in China, so the copyright
laws are.

Speaker 7 (01:34:18):
Different in China.

Speaker 1 (01:34:21):
Yeah. So it seems most though that publishers should have
something to say about or not publishers, but the store
owners or should have something to say, like, you know,
we're just not going to let you sell this year.

Speaker 5 (01:34:37):
Well, I think geographically they can shut that stuff down,
but I think like in China, you can't do anything
about it.

Speaker 2 (01:34:44):
Right.

Speaker 6 (01:34:44):
It's also free, so they're not it's not even like
a product they're charging for, which I think also makes
it rough because like you can get away with some
copyright stuff as well if you're not charging people for it.

Speaker 1 (01:34:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:34:58):
Yeah, but if you're making money off fitter, they'll get
to it. But by the way, it's it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:35:05):
Well, I mean I kind of I spoke about this
when Watts first showed it to me, and it's like,
you can have all the ingredients to make a cake, right,
you can take all the things that you like in
other games, like we've got robo dinosaurs and take that
from Horizon, We've got crafting from Velheim to the we've
got boss mechanics from Eldering. Doesn't make it good though,

(01:35:31):
Like it could still be an awful game and it
takes I think that's where the nuance of game design
comes in, is like, you know, what, what is the
secret sauce that makes from Softwest so good? What is
the secret source that makes Valheim so good? And it's
not just the mechanics by themselves.

Speaker 1 (01:35:47):
But but sometimes you rip you rule.

Speaker 6 (01:35:52):
I e.

Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
Fortnite true.

Speaker 5 (01:35:56):
Kind of did with a pub you mean, right, the
better the format, but it's funny and it was very different.

Speaker 7 (01:36:02):
But yeah, you're right, like that was taking that format.

Speaker 5 (01:36:05):
But yeah, I mean it made me think of Wukong, right,
which is does some of that, but it's also just
a third person action combat rpg, you know, But that
is the difference for me. I'm like, Okay, this is
not the nuance of all these other ones. I don't
know why everybody else loves it so much. And I've
talked about I did beat it, by the way, The end.

Speaker 2 (01:36:27):
Boss is really good. There's a lot of really cool stuff.

Speaker 7 (01:36:29):
There's some good cool stuff in there.

Speaker 5 (01:36:31):
Yeah, where I landed on Wukong was I spent like
seventy some hours in it, and the way that I play,
I would have liked it.

Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
It was just a real tight twenty five to thirty
and only focused on the good stuff. But yeah, like.

Speaker 5 (01:36:43):
They try to steal, yeah, some ideas, but it comes
off as a little generic in some ways. But but
Wukong is a little different. It's not like blatantly trying
to be elden Ring or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (01:36:57):
But you see.

Speaker 1 (01:36:58):
You know what I wouldn't mind see in in video
games is you know, every once in a while we'll
get like a director's cut of a video game, but
it never feels like a director's cut. It feels like, oh,
we've added some like extras, we didn't cut anything though,
we didn't like, we didn't recut this movie. It's like
if you watch like the Blade Runner director's cut, like
they take out like whole swats of that movie. They

(01:37:20):
take out the the what is it when the voice
over like the movie.

Speaker 2 (01:37:25):
Feels totally competitive changes.

Speaker 1 (01:37:27):
Yeah, I would love to see that sometime, like like
going back to a game instead of just like re
releasing like they're doing Soul Reaver right now, right Sol
Reaver one and two is coming out like a or
not a remaster, Yeah, a remaster more of Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
Well I think yeah, it's more of a remastery, right.

Speaker 1 (01:37:48):
Yeah, but man, I'd much rather I'd rather see them like, say, okay,
this game is now from the nineties. It's a little
slow in some areas, it's got some weird stuff. We
have all the assets here, we have all the levels built.
Let's cut it up a little bit, chop it up
make it feel a little more modern. We still have
the same like feel, we still have the same dialogue,
but like let's you know, let's let's monkey with it.

(01:38:11):
We still have the original version on the disc or
you play the director's cut. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:38:15):
I was gonna say, I you're right, but I think
it's way harder to do with games.

Speaker 2 (01:38:19):
Is the issue you always have.

Speaker 5 (01:38:21):
You know, people have moved on and actually, like you
can't even work with the assets. It's hard enough, it's
so much harder to do. I was thinking about Dead
Space twenty twenty three, which was actually a full on remake,
which is sort of that, but they modernized everything and
they added in some things like basically took some of
the ideas and made you know, some unique spots which

(01:38:42):
I don't know if any of that was even leftover ideas,
but they legitimately added to the experience.

Speaker 2 (01:38:47):
And yeah, it was awesome. Go play that game, by
the way.

Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
Yeah, I think it was another one. They were just
giving it away on PlayStation, weren't they.

Speaker 2 (01:38:54):
Yeah. Probably now.

Speaker 5 (01:38:55):
Yeah, dead Space twenty twenty three a half man I've
raved about because it's another one of those like Callisto
Protocol and like for whatever reason, you can't compete at all.

Speaker 2 (01:39:05):
It seems like with the Resident Evil, it's like sort
of that and nothing.

Speaker 5 (01:39:08):
Well, sound hill a bit, but it's you know, in
the genre in general, but.

Speaker 2 (01:39:12):
These like space horror, et cetera.

Speaker 5 (01:39:14):
It just seems like three million sales and then they're like,
that's just not good enough.

Speaker 2 (01:39:19):
There's a huge bummer because I love that much.

Speaker 5 (01:39:22):
Yeah, and like dead I know, but it's I believe
both Callisto and certainly Dead Space sold that or more now,
but that was not nearly enough. There's I mean, Dead
Space twenty twenty three is really really good. So just
like the game of the Year quality material, go back
and play.

Speaker 1 (01:39:39):
Aren't gonna play it, I'm gonna do it to your car.
Oh it's not. I think I already own it. I
think I have it on by PlayStation like.

Speaker 7 (01:39:47):
They Yeah, they fixed a bunch of bugs.

Speaker 2 (01:39:49):
It's it's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (01:39:50):
So I heard that Alien Isolation is getting a sequel.
That's big news.

Speaker 7 (01:39:58):
Oh yeah, yeah, I did hear about that.

Speaker 1 (01:40:00):
Did you guys see Alien Romulus, the newest alien movie.

Speaker 7 (01:40:03):
I didn't.

Speaker 1 (01:40:08):
It kind of it's it swerved away from the Prometheus
uh storyline, where like they for a while. They were
like kind of going back in time before the original
Alien and they had met the you know, like the
big white guys, and this this one is more like
a traditional Alien movie. But the director said he was

(01:40:30):
influenced by Alien Isolation quite a bit, which I thought
was pretty fantastic. I've never heard yeah director cite a
video game as a reference before.

Speaker 2 (01:40:41):
Oh that's neat.

Speaker 1 (01:40:42):
Yeah, I thought that was cool. Yeah, but that game
was scary as ship. I can't play it, and they
haven't that, which is I can't even imagine, frankly, because
the regular flat screen version is scary as hell. I
watched my kid play some of it and I was like,
I can't believe you're playing this. I'm getting I'm leaving

(01:41:04):
the room. You're on your own.

Speaker 4 (01:41:05):
I don't don't come to me when you're scared.

Speaker 1 (01:41:11):
Yeah, you're on your own, kid, You're you're.

Speaker 7 (01:41:15):
On Before we do like Twitter questions stuff. I'm just
gonna give.

Speaker 6 (01:41:21):
You guys an update about Path of ex Housing as
it is tomorrow. This is a video uploaded a couple
of minutes ago.

Speaker 1 (01:41:29):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:41:29):
They said that they've they've reached one million early access redemptions,
so it's people.

Speaker 7 (01:41:33):
Who are you know you anyway?

Speaker 6 (01:41:36):
Uh, And before this they said that they had got
things ready for their servers to handle one million concurrent players.
So they've uploaded a video and said just to let
you know, we're gonna be upfront. There's probably gonna be
some cues because.

Speaker 1 (01:41:58):
All gone poorly. I really like Frans. If anybody's watching
the video version of this, everything is frozen on my end.
But the video version is particularly special because we got
Fran pointing at the and then the dirtiest lucky on mylin.

(01:42:23):
It was pretty.

Speaker 6 (01:42:29):
But the basically what they said as well is that
they already have gotten a lot more servers and they're
coming online. But he's like, I'll be honest, our back
end is set for a million players, so we don't
know what that is going to be like if there's
more than a million concurrences, So.

Speaker 7 (01:42:49):
A few more videos.

Speaker 1 (01:42:50):
Good on them forgetting getting ahead of that, because you know,
like that happens every launch, right any popular game, it's
gonna happen. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:42:59):
That's actually a reminder that I think even the most
recent season of Diablo was like very long, like went on.
They had like a big even as you know, many
services they have in the experience. They had major issues
both at launch and with a recent season that I
recall people sitting there forever.

Speaker 3 (01:43:17):
So, yeah, is it okay? Because I think it's like
a three a M for me, and I wasn't gonna stop.
I wasn't gonna start straming until a little bit lighter.
But is it better to get in the queue earlier?

Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
Oh, I was gonna say you should do that.

Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
The next you should probably get in line as soon
as possible. I would recommend getting up at two o'clock
in the morning.

Speaker 7 (01:43:47):
M hmm.

Speaker 6 (01:43:48):
I think it's just the thing of like, if it's
an actual qu system, right and the Q is say
five hours long, getting in the queue means that you
can play that day.

Speaker 7 (01:43:59):
If you wait, then maybe you're not going to be playing.

Speaker 5 (01:44:01):
I feel like, no, no, no, I feel like they
never work like that. You get in a queue that
makes it look like it and then they have to reset.
Everything is brier super slow mo for you guys, like,
it's okay. For me it must be my connection maybe.

Speaker 7 (01:44:14):
But anyway, I feel like you're gonna get kicked.

Speaker 5 (01:44:17):
Out anyway and be mad, but enjoy I'll be playing
Indiana Jones.

Speaker 6 (01:44:22):
I think you're not You're not going to be alive
and awake and doing stuff at eleven am for eleven.

Speaker 5 (01:44:29):
Yeah, I wasn't gonna try to hop anything. I just mean,
I'd rather not even get into that server.

Speaker 1 (01:44:35):
What time do you go to bed, like in the morning,
in the afternoon, what time do you go to bed?

Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
Me, Yeah, I can't tell you.

Speaker 5 (01:44:43):
Like, if you're even looking at the camera on my screen,
you're swiveling slowly in your chair like at two fram
a second. Anyway, normally I'm trying to log off my
stream between these days. I'm trying to do between twelve
thirty am and two am. Last night I played Bolotcho
till like three and that was a mistake.

Speaker 7 (01:45:04):
Exciting stuff, you know.

Speaker 6 (01:45:06):
I even I like even like days where I'm just
sitting in que because all the community is like hanging
out in stream and it can actually be really fun
to like have all these things on screen of the
Q and we're getting updates and it can actually be like, yeah,
really a really fun experience. So for me though, it's
a reasonable time, it's eleven am for me, so I

(01:45:27):
can enjoy it after getting a good night's sleep in
a normal morning.

Speaker 4 (01:45:31):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:45:34):
It is like waiting in line though for the launch
of something, you know, like a launch.

Speaker 4 (01:45:38):
Of a game.

Speaker 8 (01:45:38):
It is.

Speaker 7 (01:45:39):
Yeah, it's like having been.

Speaker 4 (01:45:42):
Everyone's exciting waiting for the draw.

Speaker 3 (01:45:45):
You also like, you would probably rather be playing the
game or doing something else rather than waiting, But you're
doing the pot from whites.

Speaker 4 (01:45:52):
You muls are white.

Speaker 7 (01:45:54):
Yeah, yeah, Brier.

Speaker 5 (01:45:55):
If I disconnect and rejoin real fast with that, screw
up the way out.

Speaker 7 (01:46:00):
But it will be fine.

Speaker 1 (01:46:04):
Uh, it's get pretty late. So one Twitter question is
that okay, yeah, okay, I'm gonna do one uh, and
then we're gonna call it a night. Hey DCP, if
your pet magically gained the ability to speak, but only
for an hour, what would you talk about?

Speaker 7 (01:46:22):
Oh my god, that's actually a pretty good question.

Speaker 4 (01:46:24):
I would talk about the goddamn holes in the grass?

Speaker 7 (01:46:28):
What's up in the holes of the grass?

Speaker 1 (01:46:31):
One hour long lecture? Motherfucker? Why do you gotta go?
Why do you gotta eat at five thirty in the morning?
Can't you wait till it's light out? Just can you
just be reasonable? Why do you gotta eat everything in
the garbage?

Speaker 5 (01:46:48):
I feed you one question that you can ask it right, No,
just for one hour.

Speaker 7 (01:46:55):
They can talk for one hour. I would probably.

Speaker 6 (01:46:59):
Go with the like, when I bring out the cat
carrier for you to go in, it's to make you better.

Speaker 7 (01:47:06):
So okay, So if you're feeling sick, you got some
pain going on, you're not happy, you're going in there
so you.

Speaker 6 (01:47:10):
Can feel better. I really like bullet understandings.

Speaker 1 (01:47:14):
It didn't occur to me i'd be talking to a cat.
I just assumed i'd be talking to a dog because
my cats were all just fuck off and go do
whatever they do. I'd have like a thirty second conversation
with my cat before you just like fuck you on board.

Speaker 7 (01:47:31):
Like I don't have any pets base, I'd be able
to have a whole hour.

Speaker 5 (01:47:34):
That was the question that I wanted to ask cats,
which is like when they're you know, snuggling with you,
if you like one.

Speaker 2 (01:47:40):
False move there, you're out.

Speaker 1 (01:47:44):
You f it up.

Speaker 2 (01:47:45):
I'm like, whoa, Like why can't I move my hand?
What's the big deal?

Speaker 7 (01:47:50):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (01:47:51):
You'd have to also create like some kind of some
kind of signs for when you can't talk to each
other anymore.

Speaker 7 (01:47:56):
It's like listen, if you need this, just lift up
your paw and like I'm being happy, it'll.

Speaker 1 (01:48:01):
Be de scritched, like why butts all the time?

Speaker 7 (01:48:05):
That's where the smells.

Speaker 6 (01:48:06):
But yeah, yeah, probably do Listen. If your tummy starts hurting,
put a paw up. If it's your foot, you know,
hold and hold out the foot. If that's that's what
I'll do.

Speaker 7 (01:48:23):
Look, we've only got an hour.

Speaker 4 (01:48:26):
We need to we need to invent sun language in
and out.

Speaker 6 (01:48:35):
Also, can you learn how to I'm gonna teach you
how to stream and you can take over when I'm sleeping.

Speaker 7 (01:48:41):
You'll make billions of dollars. Here's how I dream.

Speaker 1 (01:48:46):
Just stay you don't have to do anything. I'll take
care of the video stuff. Just stay on camera.

Speaker 6 (01:48:52):
Stay on camera near the microphone, and sometimes go man,
oh my god.

Speaker 1 (01:48:55):
Has anybody ever caught to like go pro a cat cat?

Speaker 7 (01:49:00):
There's TikTok lives that exists. Yeah, okay, there's TikTok lives.

Speaker 6 (01:49:04):
There's one TikTok cat who like fights all the cats
in the neighborhood they're in.

Speaker 7 (01:49:09):
So people are just like, this guy's just what's he us?
He gonna go out and bully today.

Speaker 1 (01:49:14):
I'm finding that today I can't wait to see.

Speaker 6 (01:49:17):
That he like chases them. Yeah, because like a lot
of the cats don't they don't fight very often. Like,
it's not very often that you hear like a cat
fight because they're kind of trying to just like avoid
it mostly.

Speaker 7 (01:49:28):
But this guy is hunting them down. He wants to fight.

Speaker 1 (01:49:32):
He's a fighter, got a bone to pick. All right, guys,
thank you for hanging out with us, episode four or seven.

Speaker 5 (01:49:41):
Yeah, I feel like he cheated somehow.

Speaker 2 (01:49:47):
There's no way. He remembered that. An hour and forty
five minutes later, he wrote it down.

Speaker 7 (01:49:51):
What was it a for oh?

Speaker 2 (01:49:54):
In front of his call.

Speaker 5 (01:49:55):
That's what he was writing down, was pre ordering astrobodies, Like,
all right, four oh seven.

Speaker 7 (01:50:02):
Don't forget that. Next week DCP will be DCP goes
to the Game of Wars. We're gonna be fancy, we're
gonna be drunk. Well, I don't know about it.

Speaker 1 (01:50:08):
Maybe yeah, we're gonna be excited as a podcast. But
I'll definitely post it on the YouTube so you can
rewatch it later.

Speaker 6 (01:50:14):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
