(00:00):
Drink it in now loyal die hard Detroit kool-aid drinkers.
What's going on? This your boy Oakley coming at
you on a Friday. I I'd said on the flagship show
that we're going to do the rounds 2 and three bonus
unfiltered draft episode for theFriday kool-aid packet.

(00:22):
But excuse me, I I got my head. I was like I need to give.
The people and the people consist of the millions.
I need to give the millions and millions a little extra
something something. So this is your kool-aid packet.
Consider the round two round three bonus unfiltered draft.

(00:46):
What is it like A2? How long is this one, two,
another two hours of me and chops live on the mic back from
draft day, day 2 talking all thepicks, Lions probably arguing
with each other, talking about Boola Boola, you know what we
do? But I was like, I I want to come
on. I want to talk about a couple
things. One is will the Detroit ants do

(01:10):
something big, unexpected, exciting before the season or
even before training camp? I mean drinking in everybody
drinking in for that type of teaser, you need a double sided
cornbread as well. Cornbread, Cornbread.
I'm going to get into that in a moment.

(01:31):
I also want to talk a little bitabout Detroit sports.
I'm recording this about 30 minutes an hour before the
Detroit Pistons might make theirpick in the second round of the
NF NBA Draft, which you know anybody that's going to try to.
You ever hear these dopes on theradio that start talking about

(01:52):
the NBA, NHL and that sport we shall not speak of draft like
it's anywhere close or similar to the NFL Draft.

(02:18):
Like we know that's the only music that matters and these
other sports. You draft kids in high school,
you draft some, you know, guy that's committed to a college
and you take him and he goes to college for two 3-4 years.
Then he goes through the it's it's so different.
So as excited as I get about a draft and that music that I just

(02:41):
played the NFL draft, it's the only one that goes down.
I'm not here to give you some ocree take about well, the pay
of spin should take this guy is really going to help this.
I have no clue who's in the second round of the NBA draft.
I don't know who's in the first round.
I don't know who's in the top 10, you know, like the first

(03:02):
four names and that's about it. And the Pistons are always
picking what, 7? So like, we got some good
players. Don't get me wrong, I like
Jayden Ivey, you know, you know, get getting a sore is really
turning out well. But and then don't get me
started on the Red Wings where like every year we get not only

(03:22):
the lowest possible selection, usually somehow we bump down
multiple spots from that lowest spot, which makes no sense.
I understand. But that's what happened.
And it it's so infuriating. So I'm excited about the Pistons
adding a player, but I'm not excited about the player because

(03:43):
second round picks, you just throw them in the garbage can in
the NBA. And then when the hashtag choppy
hockey's going on and on about who the Red Wings should take.
And I can't believe Steve Eiserman did this.
He should have done this. It's like, bro, these guys are
going to go to like, you know, some Finland country for two
years. They're going to play in Grand

(04:04):
Rapids for a year or two. And by the time they come up, I
not only forgot about them, they, they, they haven't been
that great. To quote a, a phrase.
Yes, I like Sandeen Pelika. Yes, I hope Danielson comes up.
And as a stud, I get it. But.
These sports are just to wait sodamn long.
It's it's crazy. So Detroit sports, though, I

(04:25):
want to hype everybody up, serveup more kool-aid, drink it in,
drink it in is in a beautiful place.
I mean, the Lions are about to take a Super Bowl home in the
next few years, if not this year.
We've got the wings, which everybody's down on except me.
I think that, well, Chops, he's a, he's a red Kool-aid drinker.

(04:47):
But me and my friends and other people see the vision that, OK,
you can be down and talk about firing Steve Eisman because this
year they make the playoffs, they make a nice leap.
Everybody's back on board. And then the young cats start
coming in, you know, hand over fist and everybody gets all
excited like there were a few years ago when we almost made

(05:07):
it. So there's that.
And then my Detroit Pistons, Detroit basketball is back,
baby. They they are going to be fun to
watch. Kate Cunningham took a huge
leap. Love him.
The surrounding players, the fact that we actually play
defense and oh, by the way, we'll punch you in the mouth
because we're definitely got some grit, some grime and some

(05:28):
nasty to us. I absolutely love that.
So Detroit sports is rolling thesport we shall not speak of.
I'm intentionally skipping all of you that are loyal listeners
know why, but if you like that, go ahead.
Congratulations. So there's that, but it is a fun
time right now. You're leading up to training
camp, you got these drafts going, you got both NBA and NHL

(05:52):
free agency. So if you love sports, you're in
Michigan, you're in Detroit, youlove our teams, it's kind of a
fun time. As you can tell, I'm a little
bit hyped up. But Speaking of hyped up, let me
get to the second take. Again, this is a Detroit
Kool-aid packet. Usually keep it from 10:15.
I've been known to go 25 or 30. It's a little bit of a shorter

(06:13):
show, a little more couple takes, couple topics.
Whatever it is, I get up out of here giving you content on
Friday, on Monday as well as that.
Detroit Kool-aid. Cast on Wednesday, the flagship
usually me at shops in the D. We're hoping to have Logan
Lamoran deer from Sports Illustrated.

(06:34):
You know, Detroit Lions on Sports Illustrated, back on love
when he brings his content, his takes, his opinions, stats, so
all that good stuff. But for this Kool-aid packet, I
want to talk about will the hands do something crazy?
I know a lot of you out there told us they're going to just

(06:58):
Cape their own guys and they love their team and they're
they're saving money for extensions.
Like that's all fine and well, like I get it.
But I'm here to tell you that every GM that ever has a
microphone is basically going totell you they love their team.
We're not sure that we can make any splashes.

(07:19):
Don't expect any splashes. Quote quoting Trajan Langdon, GM
of the Pistons. And it's like, yes, a lot of
times that is true. But even when they're Wheeling
and dealing and they got something in the hopper and they
know they're going to pull the trigger, it's like they're still
going to hoe hum it on the mediaand not tell you.

(07:40):
And then all of a sudden it happens and you're fired up.
And that's exactly what I think,Brad, always Open for Business
Homes is going to do. How many years have I been
coming on this pod talking aboutwhen are we going to make a
splash? We're going to do something big,
When are we going to add a piecethat's going to get us over the
hump? And every single year, I'm

(08:02):
waiting. I'm waiting.
Alright everybody, this goes outto my fantasy football fans out
there now. You probably heard about Reality
Sports Online, the most powerfulfantasy sports platform where

(08:22):
owners can build and manage their fantasy team like a real
NFL general manager. But the question is, have you
tried it? I mean, we're talking free
agency, multi year contracts, rookie drafts, multi team
trades. You can put franchise tags on
guys. It's as close as you're going to
get to be in an NFLGM. But do you think it sounds

(08:43):
complicated? It's not.
I'm here to tell you it's the best thing about Reality Sports
Online. Is it just more fun than your
normal fantasy league? But it doesn't take barely any
more time. After all this, are you still
not sure? I mean, come on now.
You can test your general manager skills by going over to
Reality Sports Online. Call it RSO.

(09:07):
Please go check out realitysportsonline.com right
now. I'm waiting some more.
And it's nothing. It's just crickets.

(09:29):
Like, OK, we draft. Well, I get it.
OK, I understand a lot of our free agents are bargain bin
clearance racks, specials. But I'm here to tell you, in
2025, Brad Holmes and Dan freaking Campbell are going to
like, come out of the woodwork all of a sudden, like soon

(09:52):
before camp or once cuts happen in camp, they're going to add
1-2, maybe even 3 bodies that are going to, like, really help
this football team. And yes, I mostly think it'll be
on defense, but I'm not countingout another dynamic offensive
piece that could be added that can get the fans excited and get

(10:14):
everybody rolling and actually be very productive.
If not dynamic, I don't want to say elite, but right around that
level. That could be really good.
And I don't necessarily have names.
I think that everybody is waiting for Sedarius MILF

(10:34):
SMIFFFFF to sign back with the lions.
I do think that'll happen. I do think the fan base will get
excited about that. They will know that's helpful.
I am especially hoping that happens because when we did
dollars makes sense. You guys know that series right?

(10:55):
Like we went down the edges thisweek on the flagship show and
I'm like, we need help. And I and it was like my running
gimmick where I made fun of people, 'cause all everyone
wants to talk about is the edge opposite of Hutch.
When are we going to get a edge?Don't you know you?
We need some edge help. How about the edges?
And then we get Brad Holmes. I love our edges.

(11:16):
I don't know why everybody says we need edges.
We like our players. We think we get after the
quarterback. We just had injuries last year.
And then I go down that list notonly of player names, but
contracts, and I'm like, dude, you need an edge or two and
don't give me Oka run quo that just got cut or some other.
Who's your Medilla stooge? I I need like ball players and I

(11:40):
realize there's not a ton out there, but there are aging vets
that are out there that I think it helped this team.
Yes, I still like Matthew Judon, understand he's older,
understand he wasn't very productive, but I think he's fit
in right here. There's other people.
No, I don't necessarily want VonMiller, but that's a name.

(12:02):
And I feel like if they can findthat vet, that's a good fit,
good contract isn't going to hamper any of the extensions.
Like, yes, I think they pull thetrigger.
They add to this team because it's been a bunch of crickets, a
bunch of white noise. I I'm not a subscriber of bring

(12:24):
the whole band back. Assume you're going to be
perfectly healthy and we're good.
I understand they have a draft class.
I'm swarming up to Ty league Williams.
You know what Tate Rad, our second round pick seems pretty
plug and play. Then you got TBD if you ask me,
but we'll see. I hope he plays well.

(12:45):
Isaac Tesla you got you know, gosh, they they they got good
ball players even go down the list.
I mean, what is Ahmed Hassanian going to give us?
I mean, if I pronounce that correctly, I I don't know, but
I'm kind of excited to see, but I'm not, you know, putting his
stat line at something kooky like I think at chops and the D

(13:08):
did on one of our shows. But they they not only need to
add this is this is Brad Holmes. He'll tell you the story 80
million times if you ask him in every interview about how he is
APR intern and he did this and he did that.
Like Brad knows from APR perspective that yes, the

(13:29):
stadium's going to be sold out. Of course, we think we still
have a good football team hopeful that we can make another
good run in the regular season and actually play well in the
playoffs instead of getting bouncing around 1:00.
But he also knows a little something something as we head
to camp and as inside the den finally debuts on the old Lions

(13:54):
network and we get a little behind the scenes content and
the ball players get going. Like wouldn't it be nice to add
Smithy? Wouldn't it be nice to find like
a vet that they love that on a good contract that actually, I
don't know, rushes the cornerback and add him as well.
And then, oh, here's a nice offensive, a weapon, a little

(14:16):
bit of a dynamic player, maybe even somebody who has traits in
in some capacity, add them and this this fan base would be
juiced and don't come and tell me that doesn't matter.
And you know, it's all about WS&L's juice, momentum,
excitement matters, especially when you have this window like

(14:38):
this team has of this year, nextyear, year after, year after.
Like you have to not only put a exciting, dynamic product on the
field, you have to absolutely cash in one, if not 2 Super Bowl
appearances and we got to have atrophy.
I'm just here to tell you that needs to happen.

(15:01):
Don't give me this. So we won a bunch of games and
we had a couple nice wins or twoin the playoffs.
That ain't good enough. We need Super Bowl appearances,
we need NFC Championship wins, and damn sure need Super Bowl
championship victories to stamp this regime.

(15:22):
Then if you do that and you wantto go into Cocoon for a couple
years while you rebuild and retool the salary cap, I'm
totally good with it. But until then, pedal to the
metal. Get us a little bit of juice,
get us a couple additions and let's do this damn thing.
So that's what I'm excited about.
I feel like I'm really fired up on the mic today.

(15:44):
I know me and Chops had kind of a rough time with the audio and
this and that and I was like, I'm going to just RIP off an
energy filled Detroit Kool-aid, double sided cornbread,
cornbread kool-aid packet. For the people talking about
Detroit sports, why no drafts matter other than the NFL draft.

(16:11):
But it's a great time to be in Michigan Rep Detroit Rep those
Wolverines where it's reeling inrecruits. 4 stars, 5 stars left
and right. About ready to get another
natty. You got those lads ready to
roll, especially when they add like I'm predicting here in the
next few weeks and then late in camp where you think we're done

(16:33):
and then they add another ballerbefore we head to Green Bay and
whoop the cheddar heads and the mozzarella sticks.
Like I'm here for all of it. Pistons, Red Wings, let's go,
let's get it. I'm fired up.
It's going to happen. People get excited for this
football season, this football team and everything else going
on with Detroit sports. Everybody that that's what I

(16:56):
got. There's your kool-aid packet.
Drink it in, Catch you Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week,
everybody. I'm out.
Cornbread. Cornbread.
