Today’s Scripture References – Matthew 18:21-35 The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant
Matthew 18:21-22 “Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”
Jesus continues by telling a parable about the man received great forgiveness for a large debt he owed yet refused to forgive a person who owed him a much smaller debt. The lesson from this parable is that we all have been graciously forgiven by God and are forgiven daily, repeatedly. And we need to be just a gracious in forgiving others.

Forgiveness can be a difficult and uncomfortable process. The process of forgiving is to recall your hurt, empathize with the person, receive the gift of forgiveness, outwardly express forgiveness, and hold onto to forgiveness. Story in Joshua 4, Stones of Remembrance.
When you decide to forgive, God provides the grace and strength to forgive and to maintain a heart of forgiveness. Forgiveness is not weakness. It is the most powerful thing you can do.
