Forward facing sonar has finally been banned in some professional bass fishing tournaments. Forward facing sonar, also known as Livescope, is a type of highly advanced fishfinder technology that many believe can make catching fish easy to the point of being unfair. The forward facing sonar technology has changed the fish are caught in the bass tournament world and also in crappie fishing tournaments. Any fish that is caught by a lure can be caught easier by fishermen that have masted this technology. Lowrance, Garmin, and Humminbird all have their version of forward facing sonar that angler are utilizing to catch more fish. In the bass fishing community many anglers are calling for a ban on forward facing sonar. At this stage in the game, banning forward facing sonar would change the bass fishing industry dramatically.
