Vanessa Ferguson (00:05):
Welcome to the
Dis Love podcast with Vanessa
and Kris.
I'm Vanessa Ferguson.
Kris Johns (00:09):
And I'm Kris Johns.
Vanessa Ferguson (00:10):
We would like

151.
And for any listeners joiningus for the first time.
Our show features things welove at Disney and in each

at home or on their Disneyvacations.
From vacation planners toproduct producers, our guests
can bring Disney magic into yourlife.
And, as a reminder to ourlisteners, we appreciate if you
(00:32):
take time to review us on ApplePodcasts or any other platform
where you listen.
That, of course, helps the showgrow.
And before we get started, Krishas a message for us.
Kris Johns (00:42):
Yes, our friends
Kevin and Amanda, with Wear in
the Park, make scavenger huntgame packs.
They're fun and challenging foranyone who thinks they know the
parks like the back of theirhands and for complete newbies
hoping to get a betterappreciation for all of the
detail put into creating theseimmersive experiences.
They're also great for all ages.
Besides Disney parks on bothcoasts, they carry packs for
(01:04):
Universal Parks and we'll havemore parks coming soon,
including Dollywood and King'sDominion.
Use the code DISLOVE10 throughthe link in the show notes to
save 10% off your next order.
Vanessa Ferguson (01:20):
And I will
make sure to put that code, as
well as the link, in the shownotes.
And on today's show we aregoing to be joined by Mallorie
Wright from 1953 Designs.
Her shop includes shirts, knotbands, bags and all kinds of
unique things like bento boxeswith characters on it.
Super excited to have her onthe show.
And, Kris, there's a messagefrom Mallorie as well.
Kris Johns (01:43):
Yes, she wants you
to save 15% off.
Use the code DISLOVE15 to save15% off your next order.
Vanessa Ferguson (01:50):
And I will put
the link in the show notes
along with that code as well.
So, before we hear all theamazing things Mallorie has in
her shop, we're going to talkabout all the ways that you can
enjoy the parks before or afterthey open to day guests.
Some of these are ticketedevents and some are for guesting
at certain resorts.
(02:11):
We have talked about some ofthese different things in
various capacities, but Ithought, for anyone who's maybe
traveling to the parks for thefirst time, or maybe has just
it's been a while since you'vebeen, or you're just not
familiar with all the programs,I thought it would be good to
bring all of these early entry, slash, after hours events into
one show.
So for us, I'm going to startwith something that really
(02:36):
involves, something that wedon't typically do, and when it
comes to early morning or latenight, what are we going to
always pick?
Kris?
Kris Johns (02:44):
Late night.
Vanessa Ferguson (02:45):
Yes, so we are
definitely not morning people.
Our daughter's not a morningperson, so I'm going to talk
about that first, one of thethings that is nice if you have
little ones that are earlyrisers, or if you're an early
riser yourself, if you arestaying on property, you are
able to get what's called earlytheme park entry, and this is
(03:06):
for people staying at any WaltDisney World Resort, as well as
some other hotels which I'mgoing to talk about here in a
second.
So those other hotels includeplaces like Swan and Dolphin,
any of the like the Dolphinproperties, those Disney Springs
resorts that are on Hotel PlazaBoulevard, like their Drury,
(03:27):
the Hilton Orlando, lake BuenaVista Place, shades of Green, of
course, the higher end oneslike the Waldorf, astoria and
the Four Seasons.
These all get this perk as well.
So how it works is you are ableto enter the theme parks 30
minutes early before the parkopens to day guests.
So what this means is thatyou're able to get in before the
(03:50):
rope drop to the public, whichallows you to go, be ready to
get in line for certainattractions.
You, of course, if the parklet's say the park is opening at
nine o'clock and you're goingat 830,.
You're going to want to planextra time to leave your resort
because the buses will be alittle busy and you want to make
sure that you get in front ofthose day guests.
So 30 minutes allows you.
(04:11):
I think this would be a goodjumpstart for at least one or
two rides.
Kris Johns (04:14):
Definitely.
Vanessa Ferguson (04:15):
Yeah, so
that's a perk that there's no
charge for this.
This is included as a DisneyResort guest or a guest at any
of those other resorts, and I'llput a link to the list of all
of the resorts that this allowsfor.
I'm going to be honest we havenever done the early entry Never
.
I will be honest, we probablynever will do the early entry.
Kris Johns (04:38):
Never.
Vanessa Ferguson (04:39):
But I know for
some families this is great and
some of the other options we'regoing to discuss which our
family uses a lot probably mightnot work for some of you
listening.
So the early entry is greatbecause there's no cost and it
applies to all the resorts.
Some of these other ones aregoing to have limitations of who
has access as well as cost.
(05:00):
So there are a couple ofdifferent things that involve in
the evening.
The first is extended eveninghours and then there's the after
hours events.
So the extended evening hoursis something that's nice is you
get two extra hours on differentnights at different Disney
parks.
Now, typically these can vary.
(05:22):
Usually Magic Kingdom will havethese extended evening hours on
Wednesdays, epcot has them onMondays, and then Hollywood
Studios and Animal Kingdom.
They are very hit and miss, butmost weeks you will see Magic
Kingdom and Epcot have thosehours.
For instance, we're going nextmonth, we're just going on
Monday through Wednesday and weget in on a Monday night.
(05:43):
So Epcot has those late nighthours.
We're staying at Boardwalk.
We're going going on Mondaythrough Wednesday and we get in
on a Monday night, so Epcot hasthose late night hours, we're
staying at Boardwalk, we'regoing to head over there.
Now here's the catch Withextended evening hours.
This is only for certainresorts, so this only applies if
you're staying at a DisneyDeluxe Resort or at a Disney
Deluxe Villa Resort, so DVCmembers as well as just guests
at the regular Deluxe Resort.
(06:04):
So what is that?
And then it also includes Swanand Dolphin, swan Reserve and
Shades of Green.
So one of the things that'snice with this is where the
early entry is for all of thosedifferent resorts.
The extended evening hours isonly for those select deluxe and
deluxe villa resorts, whichmeans I feel like there's not
that many people there when yougo for those extended hours, and
deluxe villa resorts, whichmeans I feel like there's not
(06:24):
that many people there when yougo for those extended hours.
Kris Johns (06:27):
Correct, it really
opens up the park.
Vanessa Ferguson (06:29):
Yeah, so it is
only for two hours and there
are certain attractions thatthey keep open and rather than
give you the whole list, butit's the majority of the
attractions and when they havethese extended evening hours,
the attractions that have theLightning Lane they will open
that queue up again at 6pm.
So we've been able to getLightning Lane for Tron during
these extended hours.
(06:50):
We got Lightning Lane forCosmic Rewind, but we had to
leave the park before our numbergot called.
But you are able to get some ofthose Lightning Lanes for those
attractions as well, as theyhave just the standard
attractions open.
Now, one of the things that isnice is that if you are there
(07:11):
during the day, you can savesome of those bigger ticket
bigger ticket in the sense oflonger wait times, rides until
the evening when you do theseextended evening hours.
We've also park hopped over todo these.
It is nice and again, it is aperk of individuals staying at
the deluxe resorts or the deluxevillas.
Now, there is no cost for this, which is nice, just like that
(07:35):
early entry.
So you really could, if yourfamily were early risers, you
could go hit up the park forthat half hour early in the
morning, go back to your resort, take a nap and then, if you are
staying at one of those deluxeresorts, come back in the
evening, one of those particularnights and I always check the
calendar because it does varybut, as I mentioned, typically
(07:58):
it's usually the Mondays atEpcot and Wednesdays at Magic
Kingdom.
Now, these are, again, alimited experience and you
always have to check to see whenthey may be having those.
The next type of evening eventis an after hours ticketed event
.
Now, this, instead of two hours, is three hours, but it does
(08:20):
cost money to go to the afterhours events.
I can't even remember We'vebeen to three or four of them.
Kris Johns (08:25):
Yes.
Vanessa Ferguson (08:26):
Yeah, so we've
been at Animal Kingdom, we've
been at Magic Kingdom severaltimes and I feel like there
might be one more, but we havedone now pre-COVID they would do
themed after hours nights.
Those haven't returned yet.
We had done a themed villainsafter hours night which was
super fun.
Hopefully they make that returnbecause they had a villains
(08:46):
cavalcade and just some funthings with the villains after
hours.
Kris Johns (08:50):
Oh yeah, really nice
.
Vanessa Ferguson (08:51):
Now.
So the after hours it does havea cost, but here's a nice thing
is that they allow you to getinto the park early.
So for an after hours event, you're allowed to get in the
park at 7 pm.
So even if you don't have a dayticket and let's say the event
starts at 9 pm at Magic Kingdom, you're able to get in at 7 pm,
(09:13):
which gives you five hours inthe park instead of just the
three for the event.
In at 7 pm, which gives youfive hours in the park instead
of just the three for the event.
Another thing that they doinclude with the after hours
that's not in the early entry orthe extended evening hours is
that you have snacks, and theyhave the Disney ice cream bars,
the Mickey sandwiches, the fruitbars, popcorn, and then pop and
(09:34):
bottled water.
So any of the bottled beveragesand they really push.
They have that available foryou to take as much as you want.
Kris Johns (09:41):
And that's really
nice, just because at that point
you don't want to have anothermeal, but you just want a snack
and it's perfect.
Vanessa Ferguson (09:48):
Yeah, so you
can have as many Mickey bars as
you want and if your family isone that like I like to always
get a popcorn and ice cream andyou can even take a drink with
you to like.
I always usually have an extradrink in my bag that I take with
me to go, so it's nice to beable to enjoy those.
Those after hours events docost, but they are less than
(10:10):
what you would have at one ofthe parties which we'll talk
about in a few minutes.
Now they do do these at allfour of the theme parks and a
new addition this year which Ijust had a friend attend.
One of these and I'm curious tosee more is Typhoon Lagoon has
what they call the H2O glowafter hours.
So these run from 8 to 11 pmand, just like with the after
(10:34):
hours at the regular parks, youcan get in two hours early, so
you can get in at six o'clockand they had fun little things I
noticed.
They had floaties that werecharacters and just some fun
experiences for people that youwouldn't typically have at the
water park.
Another confession we've neverbeen to a Disney water park.
Kris Johns (10:53):
No, thank you.
Vanessa Ferguson (10:55):
Kris doesn't
like water parks, but our
daughter does, so I have afeeling that will be crossed off
our list sometime in the nextfew years.
So the after hours events again, they do cost.
Usually they'll have Disney orthey'll have DVC discounts,
annual pass discounts.
The prices vary depending onwhat time of year you go, but
this has been something they'vebeen doing for a while, so I'm
(11:17):
sure that these are going tocontinue.
Now these, of course, aredifferent than the Mickey's Very
Merry Kris Party or theMickey's Not so Scary Halloween
Party, because these are heldyear round and the parties are
different because the afterhours are just giving you access
to things that are already atthe parks.
The parties are going to haveexclusive events.
(11:38):
They're going to have exclusiveentertainment.
They have meet and greets withdifferent characters that you're
never going to be able to see,and other times, at Halloween,
they have the trick or treating.
At Kris, they have treatsthroughout the park and not just
the ice cream and the popcorn.
They're going to have cookiesand hot cocoa and cider and all
kinds of different like holidaytreats.
(11:59):
So the parties are going tocost you more, but they are
going to have more exclusivethings compared to an after
hours event.
So that's something to thinkabout.
Typically, once the partiesstart at Magic Kingdom, you're
not going to see a regular afterhours, usually at the same time
, because they'll just do theafter hours at the other parks.
(12:19):
So we've done the after hoursevents and all the parties aside
from Typhoon Lagoon, and Iwould say, depending on when
you're going, I would do any ofthem.
How about you, Kris?
Kris Johns (12:32):
I agree.
Vanessa Ferguson (12:33):
Now it is nice
because, even though the after
hours is only technically twohours, you get a ton of rides in
.
I will say we've done a lot ofstuff in a short period of time
during After Hours, when we didour Four Parks adventure that we
talked about in our lastepisode.
That was something where weended with an After Hours event
at Magic Kingdom and we got alot of stuff done.
Kris Johns (12:56):
Oh really, I mean in
terms of just money for value,
value for money.
The after-hours events arehands-down a great option if you
want to do something else inthe area and then go Because
number one you're going to see alot of characters.
You're going to be able to walkup to many of them and get
photos.
Secondly, for rides, it's thesame thing.
You're going to be able to ridemore rides in less time in what
you pay for.
That, after extra hour ticketis worth every penny.
Vanessa Ferguson (13:19):
Now we have
separate shows about the Kris
party and the Halloween party, which I'll put links in the show
notes for those.
But the last but not least, thefinal either early morning or
late night event is MoonlightMagic, which this one is
exclusive to DVC members, so youcan't buy it.
Well, I mean, I guesstechnically you can buy it if
(13:40):
you're DVC and this is forunrestricted DVC owners.
So owners that have boughtdirect from Disney you are able
to.
Essentially, they've been doingthese every two months or so at
a different park and I'll put alink to the show notes when we
reviewed the one from earlierthis year at Epcot.
But you do have to pre-registerand how it works is that as a
(14:04):
DVC member you're only allowedto attend one event at a park
per year.
So like we attended an eventand after, I'm sorry, a
Moonlight Magic earlier thisyear at Epcot, so that means for
the rest of 2024, we could notattend a Moonlight Magic at
Epcot, but we can do.
We're hoping to get sometickets to go to Hollywood
Studios next month.
(14:24):
And how this does is you'reable to register for five guests
or up to the number of peoplein your resort room.
And if you do have a resortreservation, you get priority
registration with DVC for theseevents and these are where you
really see some rare characterswhich, if you go back and listen
to our show about Epcot, we sawLumberjack Donald Actually,
(14:49):
what was the name that you gaveDonald?
Kris Johns (14:50):
He's a Lumberquack.
Vanessa Ferguson (14:52):
Yes, yeah,
Lumberquack, we saw Miguel from
Coco, all kinds of neatcharacters.
They had special viewings ofthe fireworks.
You're going to have snacks.
They had ice cream andbeverages.
You didn't get popcorn at thoseevents, but those are also
additional things.
So if you are a DVC member, adirect DVC member, you're able
(15:13):
to check out those MoonlightMagics as well.
They do have them scheduledthrough the fall.
Hopefully that's something thatwe see continue.
But really, when you look at it, there's a wide variety of
different options to get extratime in the parks when everybody
else isn't there, and I highlyencourage you.
We build our trips often aroundthese events because it just
(15:35):
really you get to maximize yourtime, like Kris was saying, and
I feel like you get a bettervalue and you're able to do
other things.
What's your overall thought?
Kris Johns (15:44):
If you want to see
characters in rides more than
once not in the heat it's agreat option.
I mean, it's just to me.
It either allows you to do ashopping day, a rest day.
You can build in if you want togo to SeaWorld and then come
back, take a little break.
But to me, hands down, it's thebest, because part of it is
(16:05):
Disney is expensive, it's aninvestment, but if your return
is photos and ride experiences,it's, hands down, a great
investment.
Vanessa Ferguson (16:13):
Yes.
So whether you pick one ofthese options that is no
additional cost, or you decideto purchase a ticket for one of
the special ticketed ones, youwon't be disappointed at all.
I know that all of you willenjoy it, and we've always had
great experiences with all ofthese events, and I'll put links
to all the other shows thatdiscuss these different ones so
(16:35):
you can learn more, and I'd liketo thank our friends at
touringplanscom, undercover, tourist and Get Away Today for
some of the information weshared on today's show.
And before we get our call upwith Mallorie Kris, we have
another message.
Kris Johns (16:49):
Yes, the next time
you go to Disney and you need a
stroller or something elserelated for your small one, let
our friends Eric and Alexa takecare of you.
They are baby quip independentquality providers and they can
provide you with anything thatyou need for your little one,
from a stroller to is it a?
What is it that?
Bed?
Call car seat?
What's the thing that?
A crib?
(17:10):
Yes, it's been a while and theywill be help all this, and the
great thing is that theirequipment is new, it's delivered
to you by friendly people andit's clean.
In our last trip that we tookto Karis, to Disney World, we
had a brand new stroller thatwas easy to maneuver and was
brand new.
I mean, I think they pull itright out of the plastic and the
great thing is it was deliveredright to our resort by someone
(17:30):
who was very friendly and ontime and again, that's Eric and
Alexa with BabyQuip.
They're your BabyQuipindependent quality providers.
Vanessa Ferguson (17:38):
And I will put
the link in the show notes for
you to make your reservationtoday.
And we are.
Give us just a second and we'llget our call up with Mallorie.
We'd like to welcome Mallorieto the show.
Her shop, 1953 Designs, offersall kinds of great magical teas
and accessories, from shirts andknot bands to bento boxes and
bags.
We are super excited to haveher on the show.
(18:01):
She's a military spouse and, ofcourse, a Disney lover, like
all of us, and she's also a twinmom.
Welcome to the show, Mallorie.
Mallorie Wright (18:08):
Hi, thanks for
having me.
Vanessa Ferguson (18:09):
Now we always
start off with a little bit
about what people enjoy at theparks, so lately we have been
asking people what is yourfavorite event at any Disney
park?
Mallorie Wright (18:20):
Oh man, that's
tough.
There's so many good ones.
Probably Oogie Boogie Bash atDisneyland.
I've gotten to go twice now andit's probably my all-time
favorite.
They have so many greatvillains and the treat trails
are wonderful and the littlelike forest that you walk
through that's all lit up andthere's music and like scents
(18:42):
that they pump in to like changethe scene.
It's so much fun.
Vanessa Ferguson (18:45):
Yeah, we've
not made it to that, and we have
a friend that is going toDisneyland this fall and she
waited too late.
They were all sold out, whichwas such a bummer.
Mallorie Wright (18:54):
Oh no, yeah,
they go really fast.
Vanessa Ferguson (18:56):
Now, of course
, we want to hear all about your
business and the products youoffer connected to Disney.
Mallorie Wright (19:02):
Yeah, I have a
ton of Disney stuff.
I've loved Disney since I was akid, so everything's kind of
inspired by all things magicaland Disney.
I have a lot of t-shirts and alot of knot bands, which are my
favorite and top sellers.
Those are all handmade in-houseand I love that I've been able
(19:23):
to incorporate so many differentmovies and understated movies
as well, like Hercules andEmperor's New Groove, which I
feel never get enough love, true, true.
So I have a ton of differentnot-fans and different themes,
and then I have some newproducts that I've just started
offering and different themes.
(19:44):
And then I have some newproducts that I've just started
offering.
I've been doing a lot of fannypacks and like mouse shaped bags
and those have been wonderful, and recently discovered that you
can actually have charactersautograph them and it doesn't
bleed, it doesn't run oranything like that, so it's a
new way for people to collectautographs.
Kris Johns (20:02):
What led you to
start your business?
Mallorie Wright (20:04):
I started it
when my boys my twin boys were
in the NICU.
It was an extremely stressfultime and I needed something
happy, like a happy outlet.
So I started designing shirtsand that kind of led to
everything else and it just kindof took off right after they
(20:25):
got out of the NICU and werelike doing really well and it
kind of has continued to growand it's never stopped and I
still love it every single day.
Vanessa Ferguson (20:35):
Wow, that's
awesome.
Now we always like to ask howyou think your products can add
Disney magic to your customers'lives.
Mallorie Wright (20:42):
I love that my
knot bands are just like a hint
of Disney, sometimes Likethere's hidden Mickey prints and
very subtle Disney momentswithin these knot bands.
So it's nice that you can wearthem any day and not just in the
parks, Like mouse ears you'dhave.
You know it's mostly in theparks that you'd wear, but knot
(21:04):
bands you can wear every singleday.
I know I do.
Vanessa Ferguson (21:07):
Right Now.
What are some of your favoritedesigns and or products?
I know you talked about theknot bands and how you can wear
them every day.
What are some of your favoritesin your shop?
Mallorie Wright (21:17):
I love the
velvet knot bands.
They're extremely soft and verycomfortable.
The shimmer ones are alsoreally fun because you can pair
those with literally everythingand I'm a big fan of sparkle, oh
, for sure and gosh.
Other favorite designs andproducts the mouse bags.
I love the fanny packs, the newbento boxes.
(21:39):
I plan on restocking and addinga few more prints of those,
because back to school is comingand it's great for park snacks
if you're on the go or have kids.
Vanessa Ferguson (21:49):
So one of the
things that I always have to ask
if there's anything that goeson your head.
I have a large head.
How is the comfort of the wearof your knot bands?
Mallorie Wright (21:59):
I also have a
large head and can't fit most
hats.
If I do buy a hat, it has to beeither like men's and have a
size.
The one size fits all does notwork for me.
Vanessa Ferguson (22:10):
Right me
neither, yeah.
Mallorie Wright (22:12):
So I made sure
when I was making these that it
fit everybody, which is kind ofmagical in itself because, like
my seven-year-olds can wear theknot bands, but then I can put
it on my head and it would stillfit and still be very
comfortable and I can wear itall day without even getting a
headache.
Vanessa Ferguson (22:28):
Oh, that's
perfect.
Yeah, the Disney ears alwaysgive me a headache, so I've
given up on wearing those.
Really, looking at all yourdifferent products, I know that
you mentioned like your bentoboxes came out and they sell
very fast.
So how do your restocks workLike?
If I'm ordering something, howshould, how soon should I keep
an eye out?
Mallorie Wright (22:53):
I try to keep
things in stock because I like
to have a wide variety foreverybody, because not everybody
likes the same things.
But if something does sell out,I have a little box that you
can fill out to be notified whensomething restocks.
But then that also lets me knowwhat people want more of.
So that is extremely helpful.
Vanessa Ferguson (23:09):
Now, what is
the turnaround time for your
orders, Like if I was ordering ashirt or different things for a
trip.
How soon should I place anorder?
Mallorie Wright (23:16):
If you want
shirts or something printed like
that, I would order probablytwo weeks in advance, because I
actually sent my designs out toa professional printer, so that
way everybody gets the bestquality for those.
The knot bands those arealready made and ready and
usually ship next day.
Vanessa Ferguson (23:34):
Perfect.
And another question a lot oftimes people ask is when we had
people who have shirts.
What type of shirts do you usefor your prints and with that,
that also share with us yourfavorite design.
Mallorie Wright (23:45):
I actually use
two different brands of shirts
because I found that peoplereally love the Bella canvas
shirts because they're light andperfect for summer, but then
people also really love thecomfort colors brand, and I do
as well.
That's probably my favoritebrand for shirts, so I try to
keep designs in both of thoseavailable and also so there's a
variety of colors.
Oh gosh, favorite design umprobably the princess portrait
(24:11):
with, like, the silhouettes, um,the little frames, kind of
similar to what you can get atDisney World.
Um, with your silhouettepainting and then the pick your
poison.
That's's my, like, all timefavorite.
I made it forever ago but Ilike it's still my favorite.
Vanessa Ferguson (24:27):
I noticed I'm
a big figment fan and when I was
looking at your shop, like onyour main page of your website,
you have that really cutefigment design right now as well
too.
Mallorie Wright (24:35):
Oh, it's a
rainbows.
Yeah, it's kind of like a popart, Andy Warhol inspired.
I love that one.
Vanessa Ferguson (24:41):
What's the
best place for people to find
when you're releasing newproducts?
Mallorie Wright (24:46):
I usually post
everything on Instagram and then
that kind of filters out on thesocial media sites and then I
try to send out an email as well.
So newsletters are a reallygood thing to be a part of on my
website because those will goout right around the same time
an Instagram post will, so thatway everybody's notified around
(25:08):
the same time.
Vanessa Ferguson (25:10):
Now do you
offer?
I know you already had someKris products on your website.
Do you do holiday releasesthroughout the year?
Mallorie Wright (25:18):
I tend to leave
most things up, because I have
people that shop kind of allover the world and sometimes
they just want to place one bigorder once a year and so they
can get a variety of things, because I've had orders go out
to like Japan and Australia andother countries.
So, yeah, I really try to savethem on shipping.

But I do also tend to releasenew holiday designs each season
as well.
Kris Johns (25:46):

mentioned people both in America
as well as around the worldordering.

trivia and our wisdom.
Vanessa Ferguson (26:23):
From Walt
quote and Kris defaulted to me
to create a trivia question thisweek because he couldn't find
one, so I have one related toour topic.
Kris Johns (26:35):
Vanessa, we've done
over 150 shows.
Vanessa Ferguson (26:37):
Yes.
Kris Johns (26:38):
There's only so many
facts about Walt Disney World.
Oh, there's thousands.
Vanessa Ferguson (26:41):
There's
millions of facts about Walt
Disney World.
Oh, there's thousands, there'smillions of facts about Walt
Disney World.
Kris Johns (26:44):
Well, I only know
150, so I'll try hard for next
show.
But you asked me a question fora little switcheroo.
Vanessa Ferguson (26:52):
Okay, so I
found something related to the
topic that we talked about today.
Before they created early themepark entry and extended evening
hours, there used to be alittle thing called extra magic
hours.
Do you remember those?
Kris Johns (27:09):
I do.
Vanessa Ferguson (27:10):
So we used to
do them a lot and, as we alluded
to and talked about earlier, wedid evening ones, but they used
to have them in the morning andthe evenings.
What year did Disney do awaywith extra magic hours?
Kris Johns (27:23):
2007.
Vanessa Ferguson (27:26):
Not even close
.
Am I supposed to give you anover-under like you do for me?
That would be nice.
Okay, I'll give you a plus orminus three years and you're not
close with the 2007.
Kris Johns (27:39):
2014.
Wrong, I give up.
Vanessa Ferguson (27:45):
In 2020.
So, after COVID, the extramagic hours never made a return,
and they instead institutedearly theme park entry and
extended evening hours.
Kris Johns (27:56):
So how are those
different?
Vanessa Ferguson (27:58):
So the early
entry is for everyone and the
extended evening are only forthe deluxe and the deluxe villa,
where extra magic hours werefor anyone staying at any of the
Disney hotels.
Kris Johns (28:11):
Makes sense.
Vanessa Ferguson (28:13):
And the extra
magic hours used to be longer
too, because we had stayed atthe park.
Sometimes they'd be till liketwo in the morning, so they were
longer as well.
So now we are on to our wisdomfrom Walt, quote, and Kris, I
guess you are up with a quote.
Kris Johns (28:27):
Yes, the greatest
moments in life are not
concerned with selfishachievements, but rather with
the things that we do for peoplethat we love and esteem and
whose respect we need.
Vanessa Ferguson (28:40):
Great quote
from Walt, as usual, and don't
forget to check out all of ourother episodes on our Buzzsprout
page and follow us on socialmedia for more Disney magic.
