Welcome, friends, to
this guided earth meditation.
Thank you so much for beinghere.
My name is Annie Shearer.
I am a meditator and a yogi anda big fan of our planet, so I
thought it would be great toshare a Mother Earth meditation
(00:54):
with folks, and I thank GiaRaquel Rose for inviting me to
do this.
Really, my inspiration torecord an Earth meditation is
thanks to Gia Raquel, so thankyou for joining me.
And it's a beautiful month ofApril of 2025.
(01:17):
Considered earth month, earthday is April 22nd.
So, because of theserecognitions, I'm happy to be
here to intentionally connect tothe earth with all of you and
to do an earth meditation.
(01:37):
It's such a beautiful springtime of year, a time of
abundance and rebirth andrenewal, so good time to start a
meditation practice if youhaven't already.
I'm grateful you're here.
I'm grateful to the earth onthis beautiful Earth Day.
So thank yourself right now fortaking a few minutes out of
(02:02):
your busy schedules to be hereand do something positive for
you.
So deep bows to taking the timeout.
Um, I love to set my intentionbefore meditating, and gia's
theme for this month is urgingus to fill our cups, which is so
(02:25):
important.
I'm on board.
It's challenging to giveourselves permission sometimes
to take time out and take careof ourselves, so I invite you
all to do that each and everyday.
I suggest starting with anearth meditation every day, 10
minutes.
It can change your perspectiveand get you grounded and
(02:49):
centered for a great day.
Let's make wellness a numberone priority, and I really do
feel the earth is here to helpus.
I love to use the earth toinspire my meditation practice
every day.
Earth to inspire my meditationpractice every day.
(03:13):
So as I start this day, I'msetting my intention for
groundedness, centeredness, connection to this earth that
I'm so grateful for.
Feeling centered, I'm ready toface my day with the earth
energy behind my back.
So let's everyone get into acomfortable position, a posture
(03:37):
where we're relaxed yet alert.
We have a connection to theearth.
We have a connection to theearth.
You may meditate inside oroutside.
On this beautiful springmorning, I'm sitting outside on
my patio, but you might try thisinside today and think about
(04:01):
where you might want to sittomorrow.
Bring this recording and trythis outside tomorrow, tomorrow.
The intention is to connect tothe earth, so having some visual
representation of Earth closeby is highly recommended.
So I trust that you've found acomfortable position that
(04:27):
supports your body in a way thatmakes you feel grounded, rooted
, centered.
You may sit in a chair withyour feet firmly planted on the
floor, where your back is wellsupported.
(04:48):
Your hips, your legs do what'sbest for you be comfortable, yet
alert.
You want your mind to not getlazy, but alert and mindful of
your surroundings.
So let's take three slow, deepbreaths together.
(05:41):
After three deep, groundingbreaths, how is everyone feeling
right now?
How's your body feeling?
Let's connect to our body, check in, do a mental scan.
(06:04):
Start from your head, move downthrough your head, down through
your neck, your body organs, torso, hips, all the way down
(06:33):
your legs to the tips of yourtoes.
Do you feel any sensationsanywhere in your body?
Feel a sensation and focus onit.
(06:53):
Can you feel, envision bloodpumping through your body,
through your organs processingconstant energy?
(07:17):
Let this body scan acknowledgeour precious human form in the
present, here and now, in thismoment, from your forehead to
(07:39):
your eyes, ears, nose, mouth, throat, down through your torso,
organs, bones, each limb thatsupports you.
Joanna Macy, a teacher of minesystems scholar and a Buddhist
(08:01):
teacher, says everything we arecomes from the living, sacred
body of earth, every element ofour bodies and the air we
breathe and the food we're goingto eat.
So it's time that we recognizethat and know we're impermanent.
We're as impermanent as ripplesin a lake and bubbles in a
(08:29):
river.
We are intersecting cycles ofwater, earth, air and fire.
That's what I am, that's whatyou are, that's what I am,
(08:55):
that's what you are.
Water Water is in our blood, lymph, mucus, sweat tears.
Our inner oceans are tugged bythe moon and the tides.
Our cells float in fluids thatstream through our veins like
(09:19):
rivers.
Fluids wash and nourish theendless river ways of gut and
capillary in our bodies.
Moisture pours in and throughand out of you, out of me, into
(09:43):
the vast hydrological cycle.
The earth, our bones and matterare made from rock and soil,
from earth.
The earth pours through us,replacing each cell in our body
every seven years.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
(10:20):
We ingest, incorporate andexcrete the earth.
We're made from earth.
Feel that connection to theearth, the gravity that holds us
(10:49):
here.
That doesn't happen on otherplanets.
We inhale, we exhale, theplanet inhales.
(11:14):
The planet exhales Oxygen, kisses each cell.
Awake Adams, dance in anorderly metabolism, breathe the
(11:48):
universe in and out.
Again, give gratitude to theearth for these elements that
(12:15):
make up this precious human form, for for our life, for all the
miraculous life surrounding us,the mystery of the seasons, the
(12:46):
cycles, rebirth and manymiracles to delight in, to bring
happiness in the moment.
You can look to nature andthere it is.
(13:07):
Notice the birds singing, especially on a spring morning.
Notice the bees buzzing, howthey pollinate, how they make
(13:38):
honey.
It's all a miracle.
We can learn so much from theearth.
So taking time to observeclosely, just listen, can
(14:19):
provide answers to maybe sometough questions we're grappling
with.
The problem takes you away, getin your head.
I like to imagine I'm like atree that reaches tall with all
my goals and aspirations, but Iam firmly planted, with very
(14:42):
strong roots that extend deepinto the earth.
Those roots are stable, providestability.
They center me, reassure methat I am held closely and
(15:05):
connected, that I am heldclosely and connected strongly
to this planet.
Imagine that my roots areweaving around and among the
rocks.
They touch the undergroundsprings.
(15:27):
My roots are pulling sustenanceof the earth from the earth
into me, making me feelnourished and strong.
Earth support comes to usthrough all of our senses, all
(16:03):
of these portals in our bodiesthat bring the earth to us and
really into us.
I open my ears.
I hear the birds.
I hear the stream.
I hear the stream.
(16:28):
I hear the faint purr ofautomobiles.
What do you hear?
I open my eyes, I see all thenew life in the green around me.
(17:02):
I see some baby critters, somebird eggs, some baby deer fawn
the other day, more worms in thedirt.
(17:22):
What do you see inspires you?
I open my nose, smell the sweetflower, floral background.
(18:03):
The dogwood trees are out there, the apple blossom trees.
I smell some pollen, some freshnew grass.
(19:08):
What do you smell?
I feel my skin feet on thepatio.
Look where I have a blanket inbetween.
(19:31):
Pay attention to where your bodytouches the ground and feel the
earth giving you strength andnourishment, pulling up from the
earth through your roots, upthrough your legs, your hips,
(19:59):
into your torso, up through yourchakras, starting at your root
chakra, your grounded rootchakra, our primary focus for
this meditation and from thatgrounding the base of your spine
, your earth.
(20:20):
Earth sustaining you, energizing each chakra your
second sacral chakra, the thirdchakra, your fourth chakra, the
third chakra, the fourth chakra5, 6, 7, 8.
(20:51):
The earth supports your body, the earth is your home.
Feel it.
Just as you are feeling rootedin your body, your body is
(21:11):
rooted towards the earth.
It's a reciprocal relationship.
Now just simply rest on theearth for a few moments with
open awareness, Feel grounded,feel connected.
(22:05):
Feel connected.
Thank you all for being here toclose this meditation.
Please give yourself gratitudeonce again for this time of
meditation practice.
May it benefit you throughoutyour day.
(22:26):

grounded and centered as you goabout your day.
