Speaker 2 (00:32):
Namaste and welcome
to the Divas that Care Network.
I'm your host, gia Raquel Rose, owner of Heirs Above Yoga, and
you are listening to Above theGround podcast, if this is your
first time.
Tuning in our network is goinginto its 15th year and is
listened to in over 30 countries.
I would like to personallythank you for giving me the gift
(00:53):
of your time, because it is myhonor to hold space with you,
and we've been going on thetheme of planting seeds, so
going from the natural order ofthings and the process of what
we need to release, what nolonger serves us, clearing and
creating space, and thenrealizing what it is important
(01:15):
to keep and carry with us thingsthat bring us joy, things that
inspire us, things that elevateus, things that help us continue
forward, progress and motionfor our highest and best good.
And now we're moving into whatnew things to invite, what new
things to incorporate, where wewant to create with intention,
(01:37):
what we want to bring into ourlives and what wants to come
into our lives.
And so this episode is going tobe a meditation episode, which
are arguably some of myfavorites, just because I love
it.
I'm an avid fan of meditation,a meditation enthusiast if you
will, and I hope that any ofthese meditation episodes find
(01:58):
you receiving some benefit, somespace, some clarity, some
nugget of truth, wisdom, insightfor yourself from your higher
self, highest power, whatever itis that you believe and tune
into, because truly they aremeant for that.
(02:18):
They're meant for you, they aremeant to touch you and, I hope,
to serve as a channel for youto be able to become more in
tune with yourself, your higherself and that higher purpose
that you may have.
Maybe you fulfilled it, maybeyou are in the process of
fulfilling it.
I hope that we all are in theprocess of fulfilling it.
(02:38):
But you know, there's an elementof belief in what we want.
Quote, unquote what we chooseto.
You know what our motivationsare, what our desires are, what
everybody's different, right, and so some people desire
comfort, some people desirechange, some people, you know,
thrive on on on movement and notknowing and get very bored in a
(03:02):
routine, while some people loveroutine and really, really
wreaks havoc on them when theyare pushed out of their comfort
zone.
So everybody's different.
In this space there is no rightor wrong, just acknowledgement
and, hopefully, some selfawareness and some actualization
, some realization as to whereyou are and what benefits you
just outside your comfort zone.
(03:22):
So, generally, any sort ofmovement, positive inspiration,
new things in our lives come tous from without our comfort zone
.
Right, I believe there's a Ididn't, I certainly did not
create it, but there's a verywell known we'll call it a meme
at this point, although I thinkit's actually well before memes
(03:44):
became a thing where there's acircle on a piece of paper and
just on the outside of thecircle there's a little dot and
the circle is your comfort zoneand the dot is, uh, labeled
where the magic happens inquotation marks again for those
of you who are not watching andI just I love that because I
think it's very, very true andwhoever coined it hit the nail
(04:06):
right on the head.
And so, to that end, thismeditation is going to serve as
a way to open up your channel,to receive potentially some
insight as to what seeds youshould be planting, what you
should be sowing, what newthings that are not in your
(04:27):
immediate line of sight, thatyou're focusing on, that want to
come in for you, whether theyare something that requires most
things require you to take someform of action, but some sort
of insight that I hope that thismeditation brings to you, and
maybe I'll get some insight outof it too as I take us through
it.
That's always wonderful, muchlike Reiki, right, there is only
(04:47):
benefit.
As a practitioner, you are notnecessarily receiving the energy
, but, as the channel for theenergy, the energy moves through
you and so it's only benefitingyou, as it benefits whomever it
is that you are working on orsharing that energy with, and so
I hope the same for thismeditation.
I hope that it really is ableto give you the quiet and the
space to allow those new thingsto come in.
(05:10):
So, as much as the metaphor maybe, you know, quite exacerbated,
this meditation in my mind islike, is like planting a
seedling right.
So we are, we have our, we arethe dirt, we are the soil please
run with me on this metaphorand we are happy in our little,
(05:30):
in our tiny little cup or ourpot or whatever it is.
We are used to these walls thatare around us, and we are.
We need a little bit of tilling, we need a little bit of
excavating, and that is the ideaof creating the space in our
little pot of soil to receivethe plant in this metaphor again
.
So, with that in mind, thismeditation is basically your
(05:52):
little trowel digging into yourvery, very stable pot, your tiny
little pot, so that this, hopefully new seed can come in
and start to grow into somethingreally beautiful.
This hopefully new seed can comein and start to grow into
something really beautiful, andhopefully, for every single
person that listens to this, itis a different plant, a
(06:16):
different seed, a differentinspiration that you need.
That you know you're, maybeyou've had some intuition
towards it, maybe you feel apull towards it, conscious or
unconscious, whatever it is inyour life that that is magnet,
magnetizing you to it, becauseit's meant for you.
If you believe in that kind ofthing guess what spoiler alert I
definitely do and hopefully wecan get to a place where what
our divine mission, our soul'spurpose, whatever that happens
(06:42):
to be for each individual person, it's always different.
Our soul's purpose, whateverthat happens to be for each
individual person, it's alwaysdifferent.
Whatever it is for you, maybethis meditation will help you to
become aware of it or be maybea gateway to future meditations,
and please always know that youcan replay any of these
meditations if you feel calledto, and I'm a big, big believer
(07:04):
of those little nudges, yourintuition, those little, those
little kind of hints atsomething, and sometimes it
comes in the form of a desire ora want, or you know.
A thought crosses your mind andyou think it's a random thought
, but maybe sometimes it couldbe.
I generally like to say thatthose fear based thought was to
just let them go and focus onthe positive.
But if it's a randominclination or nudge towards
(07:25):
something that you may want tolisten to, this episode or a
different meditation episode, ifit comes across your awareness
to do so, that may be a nudgefrom something or someone higher
beyond ourselves to open upthat channel and be able to
receive insight for your highestand best good.
And that is what this is allabout.
(07:46):
So from that moment, I willbegin to walk us through how to
create the space with which tomeditate.
And obviously, please silenceyour cell phones, please, or
leave them in the other room, turn them on airplane mode and
make sure that you arecomfortable.
As mentioned many times, I'm abig proponent, many people.
Traditionally, in meditation, you have a gentle pillow, you
(08:09):
have your knees slightly lowerthan your hips and you're in a
seated, easy, cross-leggedposition.
Now, that being said, whilethat is traditional because it
aligns the chakras, it has theroot chakra connected to the
earth beneath you, the crownchakra aimed towards the sky.
Sometimes I find a lot of myclients are not comfortable in
(08:30):
this position and anytime inmeditation we are pulled out of
that flow state, that zone, that, that receptive space.
If we are uncomfortablephysically, it's just the truth.
So, if you are, make yourselfcomfortable.
That is the main thing that I'mgoing to say with this
meditation Get comfortable, geta blanket if you want to have a
blanket.
I'm a huge fan of legs up thewall, if that's comfortable for
(08:56):
you and you can access thatsufficiently.
You are going to want to starton your right side, kind of
scoot your sitz bones all theways to all the ways, all the
ways in all the ways up to thewall and then just gently roll
onto your back and just kind ofwiggle those sit bones all the
way, flush against the wall withyour palms released down at
your side, and generally this isa pretty safe space for most
people to be in.
Um, again, if it's comfortable.
Otherwise you can justcomfortably lay on a yoga mat,
(09:18):
on on a bed, if you have a chairthat you're comfortable in.
The bottom line is comfort setyourself up in a place where you
can relax fully and completelyevery muscle in your body and
just be, whether it's on thefloor in a chair, sit cross
legged seat or legs up the wall, any of these positions that you
can completely relax into, andhopefully I've given you enough
(09:41):
time by speaking about them toallow you to have gotten into
that position.
And then we're just going tobegin together by gently closing
our eyes or lowering your gazeif that's more comfortable for
you.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I'm just beginning to
draw your awareness into your
body by connecting with yourbreath and, as you continue to
breathe, allowing the breath toflow naturally to all the points
(10:20):
of contact between yourself andthe earth beneath you, so you
can truly begin to ground down,no matter your position,
deepening the connection betweenyourself and the earth beneath
(10:42):
you, beginning to feel yourselfvery, very heavy on the floor
and, at the same time, completely weightless, with the
support that the earth providesyou.
(11:10):
And as you continue to breathe, focusing on the rise of your
heart space with each round ofbreath, and begin to ever so
(11:40):
gently extend your exhale Ifcounting helps, you, feel free
to extend the count of yourexhale by one, two or even three
(12:01):
if it's comfortable Stayingaway from any strain or tension
as you breathe, focusing oncomplete and utter relaxation
(12:22):
and, in this moment, being atpeace within yourself, just as
you are.
And as you begin to feel itssupport, begin to feel its roots
(13:23):
, begin to feel its strength, feel how strong, sturdy and
grounded this tree is, and feelthat with all of your body, as
(13:50):
you are completely supported, begin to feel as one with this
tree, lean into its trunk, breathe as one, knowing that
(14:25):
this grounded, strong, stable, towering tree is here for you
and with you always.
And then begin to lift yourgaze from the support of this
(15:19):
tree to look around.
What do you see?
A meadow, a glen, a woodedforest, a sandy beach, maybe
(15:49):
mountains, and allow it to cometo you without trying to force
an edge.
The safe space that surroundsyou now is where you are most
(16:17):
protected and most at peace toallow what is best for us to
find us and the safety of thisplace.
(17:10):
Know that it is sacred to youand for you.
(17:32):
Gently open your hand and allowthe space, the trees around you,
(17:53):
safe and secure, to release aseed, as softly and as gently as
(18:13):
making a wish on a dandelion.
Allow your outstretched hand togently catch this seed, this
wish, this truth, just for you,and take a moment, close your
(18:49):
hand over it softly and bringyour hand into your heart and
bring your hand into your heart.
Know that this seed is, foryour heart and from your heart,
(19:11):
a gift to you from yourself.
And then gently open your eyesand look with your mind's eye
(19:36):
towards the seed in the palm ofyour hand, much like any
(20:12):
seedling, anything in itsinfancy.
We need to nurture and protectwhile at the same time inspiring
(20:33):
growth.
And what better place than thissacred and safe space at the
base of your grounded, strongand sturdy tree to plant the
(20:59):
seed so you never lose it?
You know it's being watchedover and every time you enter
(21:43):
your safe space, you see againin your mind's eye.
Look around the base of yourtree for the perfect spot to
plant this new seed, blown onthe breeze just for you.
(22:11):
And when you find that spot, then it will call to you, I
promise.
Gently move over to the spacearound your tree and, with your
(22:36):
right hand, begin to touch theground.
Notice how it feels.
Is it soft?
Very gently begin to move andsoftly dig with your hand to
(23:13):
create a small safe space foryour seed.
It doesn't have to be too deep, because this sacred space will
keep it protected.
And as you gently rest yourseat with your left hand into
(23:43):
the space you've created for it,take a moment to thank it, say
thank you for finding me, thankyou for wanting me as badly as I
(24:08):
want you and thank you forstaying safe with me.
(24:39):
Thank you for inspiring meevery day to grow with you and
for you.
Bless this seed with every ounceof love, gratitude and positive
intention you feel in yourheart, taking a moment to say
out loud anything that comes upfor you.
And then, softly, just as muchlove, care and gratitude, begin
(25:27):
to use both hands to gentlycover your seed, feeling the
soft, cool earth Wrapping it.
The soft, cool earth, wrappingit just tightly enough to create
(25:54):
the pressure it might need tobreak through the ground, but
gentle enough to know that it issupported in that breakthrough,
that it is supported in thatbreakthrough.
(26:15):
And then, bringing your handsfrom the ground, turn to face
your tree and begin to make yourway back to its roots, to its
trunk, and, placing your handson your tree, be grateful that
(26:41):
it is here to protect you, toprotect your seed and to nurture
it in this space, while youcontinue to nurture it in your
(27:03):
daily life.
In your daily life, and whenyou've thanked your tree, gently
come to rest sitting at itsbase, in the knowingness that
(27:25):
the seed you have just plantedis going to look completely
different the next time you seeit.
Joy and anticipation Begin todeepen, feel it within you,
(28:10):
knowing that this new seed issafe, knowing that you can check
on it anytime you like, knowingthat with each extended inhale,
knowing that with each extendedinhale, you are helping all the
(28:48):
way into your fingers and toesas you begin to ground yourself
back into your body, relying onthat strong support of your tree
to know that you are safelyhome and, when you feel ready,
(29:17):
gently opening your eyes.
(29:39):
