Come and listen to our Host, Candace Gish, as she chats with today's guest, Adriana Barnhardt, for our "Boss Babe Summer: Leveling Up in Life & Career" Podcast Series.
Mix motivation, business tips, and interviews with female entrepreneurs on how to use summer energy to plan ahead, reflect, or pivot.

Born a first-generation American in Miami to two Salvadoran parents, Adri’s intuition and people skills were evident from the very beginning. Her parents used to joke that you could drop her off in the middle of nowhere and she’d make her way home by nightfall — with new friends. She was only a toddler when they said that. Deeply empathetic and full of feeling, Adri found solace in musical theatre. Singing her way through daily life drove her family a little crazy — until they realized it actually sounded good. She went on to earn her BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University and moved to New York City, determined to make her dream a reality.

And she did — landing her dream role as Sophie in Mamma Mia. She packed her bags and flew to Utah to live out what she thought would be the most exciting chapter of her life. But something was off. Behind the smiles and curtain calls, she was silently unraveling — battling anxiety, panic attacks on stage, and sleepless nights. That’s when the question hit her: “Are we really supposed to be miserable for the rest of our lives?” That question didn’t just change her — it rerouted her. What followed was a long, soul led return to herself. And from that return, lovinglyadri was born.

Discover the transformative power of astrological life coaching with Adriana Barnhart, founder of Lovingly Adri and creator of the ILYSM (Intuitively Love Yourself Mentality) method. After a serendipitous encounter at a dog park introduced her to life coaching while she was researching astrology, Adriana found her calling—combining these powerful modalities to help women transform self-tolerance into intuitive self-love.

Adriana breaks down how your birth chart works like your "iPhone default factory settings," revealing your baseline tendencies and potentials. The planets represent different aspects of your psyche—your sun sign reflects identity development, Mercury governs communication skills, and Venus relates to emotional regulation. Through her ILYSM program, clients receive a comprehensive birth chart analysis with a 10-20 page personalized study guide, followed by clarifying Q&A sessions, yearly progression readings, and practical "Now What" coaching conversations that transform awareness into action.

What makes Adriana's work particularly revolutionary is her commitment to democratizing astrological wisdom. As she points out, "millionaires have therapists, billionaires have astrologers," reflecting how historically, these cosmic insights were reserved for royalty and the elite. Today, through her accessible services and free resources on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube (@LovinglyAdri), she's making this ancient wisdom available to everyone. Whether you're seeking greater self-understanding, navigating career transitions, or looking to unleash your full potential as a boss babe, Adriana's approach offers a unique blend of cosmic insight and practical guidance. Ready to discover how the stars might illuminate your path? Visit LovinglyAdri.com to learn more about her services or explore her free resources to begin your journey.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Well, hello everyone and welcome back to the Divas
that Care.
My name is Candice Gish.
If this is your very first timetuning into us, a huge welcome.
We've been doing this now for15 years and we're listened to
in over 30 countries around theworld and, honestly, it is
because of our fantastic tribe, our amazing hosts and our guests
that come onto our program thatwe are continuing to do this.

(00:52):
So we do appreciate all of youthat have been with us for so
long.
Today, we are actually in themiddle of a podcasting series
and it's called Boss Babe SummerLeveling Up in Life and Career.
Welcome to the podcast, adriana.
Thank you, candice, I'm sohappy to be here.
Oh, my gosh, I am beyondexcited to be talking with you

(01:13):
today.
Before we kind of dive into ourpodcast today, adriana, would
you mind introducing yourself toour listeners?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Sure.
So my name, like you said, isAdriana Barnhart.
I go by Adri with my friends,so you're more than welcome to
call me that.
My business that I run it'scalled Lovingly Adri and it's
all about astrological lifecoaching.
And so I combine astrology withlife coaching, combine it, and

(01:42):
I help women or just anybody youknow go from tolerating
themselves to intuitively lovingthemselves.
And I created a program calledILYSM, which usually stands for
I love you so much, but in mylovingly Adri world it stands
for intuitively love yourselfmentality.

(02:18):
Oh my gosh, I love it.
Can I ask you, how did you getinto this to be able to say like
, oh, I can't make a decision.
I'm a Libra, you know thingslike that.
But long story short, I went tocollege for musical theater,
did that my whole life, and then, after I graduated, I
recognized that I just wasn'thappy in my life and I wanted to

(02:38):
help more people and I justdidn't know how to do that.
And I randomly one day metsomebody at the dog park and
they told me about life coaching.
And so I immediately signed upfor a certification program and
all the while I was doing abunch of research on astrology,
trying to basically disprove ita little bit.

(02:59):
And just through my research itjust kept getting more and more
and more just scary to me ofhow accurate it was and it just
felt like a no brainer tocombine both of them.
Once I started gaining clientsand really listening to what my
clients were saying to me, Ithought well, let me just look

(03:19):
at your birth chart and let'ssee if that tells us anything.
And that's how all of this haskind of come to be.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
That is wow, Like I don't even know what to say.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
that that is so cool, is so interesting because for
me, the way that I look atastrology, it's a tool for self
awareness and so the way that Icompartmentalize the different
planets, where, you know, oncethat word gets put into the
conversation, people are like,oh, that's very woo-woo, I
checked out of the conversation.

(03:49):
For me, the planets represent abunch of different mental
functions of the psyche.
So when we're talking aboutyour sun sign, we're talking
about the development ofidentity and who you're growing
into being, your ego.
And then when we're talkingabout Mercury, we're talking
about your intellect and yourability to communicate, your
Venus emotional regulation, sothings like that.

(04:11):
So it just made perfect sensethat with my version of coaching
, which is all about being inyour body and really
understanding your perceptionsand how we could maybe reframe
those, it makes perfect sense togo back to your birth chart,
which to me represents kind oflike your iPhone default factory

(04:32):
settings, if that makes anysense.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
It does actually.
So do you mostly just useastrology?
Do you use any other modalitiesthen with it?

Speaker 3 (04:42):
So for me it's been, it's mainly astrology.
So I'm looking at your birthchart, I'm looking at a yearly
progression, which is your yearahead.
What kind of themes are goingto come up for you?
What kind of obstacles aregoing to get in your way,
thematically in your life?
And so what I do, especially inmy LESM program, is that we

(05:04):
look at your birth chart.
I then give you all of my notesthat I basically took while I
was researching your chart forour session.
You get this 10 to 20 page studyguide, which I call like your
cheat sheet, your cheat code alittle bit, where, if you want
to learn more about youremotions or why are certain

(05:24):
things coming up for you the waythat they're coming up, you can
just go back into your studyguide, see what's going on and
be like, oh, that's right, that's how it feels.
Um, and then from there you getto do a personal q a that we
get to sit down together for anhour and you get to tell me
either revelations that youdiscovered, things that really
set in for you, things, thingsyou have more questions about,

(05:45):
more clarity about.
From there we do a yearlyprogression reading Again, we
look at your year and from thereyou, the client, get to decide
well, what is it that I reallywant to work on, what are my
goals?
And then I have these, what Icall now what sessions.
So you know, when we all gainself-awareness, there's this
moment where you're like okay, like now what?

Speaker 2 (06:08):
do, I do with this information.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
That's what those sessions are all about.
So we, you know, look at youryear as a whole, look at you as
a whole human being.
You decide what you want towork on and then in those three
sessions, we really just put ourheads down and have these
conversations that hopefully are, you know, life changing a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Oh, wow, I can definitely see that happening.
So is this the I L Y S Mmindset shift method?

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Yes, exactly.
So I always say and I even haveit here on my little sweatshirt
, if you can see um, I alwayssay Ilyasam to my friends.
When I say goodbye to anyone, Isay Ilyasam.
It stands for I love you somuch, and it's just a really
cute, quick little way of youknow saying goodbye, love you,
goodbye.
And my mom, my whole life, waslike never say I love you to

(06:57):
anyone unless you mean it.
So I always just likeabbreviated it to make sense for
me.
I always just like abbreviatedit to make sense for me.
And when I was sitting down andlooking at my clients, looking
at my business, looking at how Ijust am in life, anytime
something is either going wrongor there's a little bit of chaos

(07:21):
.
When I do something that I deemgood for me or that is moving
me forward in the direction thatI want to go, I always say to
myself I'm like, ah, ilyasam, queen, like I just say it to
myself.
And one day I like that.
Yeah, I was like Ilyasam, queen, good for you.

(07:42):
Like I almost tripped and Icaught myself.
You know, ilyasam, thank you.
Legs, um, and so from there itjust again was another little
no-brainer where I was like whatif I just change the acronym a
little bit and it's theintuitively love yourself
mentality?
And like what if it's a mindsetshift method, instead of just

(08:03):
like, this is gonna make youbecome the best version of
yourself?
Like yes, and I want you tointuitively love yourself, and
the only person that knows howto do that is you.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Love that awareness that you're talking about, that
people are starting tounderstand it.
People used to think thatsomebody like you would be kooky
.
Like what do you mean?
Astrology?
You know, that person is alittle bit kooky, they don't
know what.
But I, I find the special in thelast I don't know, 10 years or
so that there is more of anawakening and more of an
awareness that people are reallytrying to understand the world

(08:38):
better.
I love the idea of thatself-awareness, the
unconditional love, theintentional living.
I think maybe it's thegenerations that are coming up
now, but I think in the past itwas kind of like oh, we don't
talk about stuff like that.
We put that in the in the backburner.
You know, people do it, theyhide it, right?
You know it was one of thosethings that they hide that
knowledge or they don't want toshare that and it's.

(09:00):
It's amazing and I just applaudyou because I think more people
are welcoming to that.
They want to understand more, more because they know that
there's more out there and it'snot.
We're not just in a box.
We, we live.
We have to learn to liveoutside the box, because there's
so much, the world is soextraordinary and if we're
willing to allow ourselves thatfreedom of expression, that

(09:21):
freedom of allowing the powerswhat be to come into us, then
there's so much we can do.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yes, and the reason why I'm smiling so much is
because you're using so many ofthe words that describe my
personal birth chart, and so I'mlike, yes, everything you're
saying is exactly my purpose.
I think, on this planet Likethese things that people want to
hide.
Those are the exact things thatI want to see and that the

(09:51):
people that love you the mostwant to see.
And if you can't, you know, show those sides of yourself,
then how do you expect yourselfto love those sides?
You know, you saying people inthe past, or even today, people
would be like, oh, that, adri, she's a little kooky, which is

(10:13):
like exactly the verbiage um,it's so funny because I'm like
well, back back back in the day,you know, in early civilization
, the people that were the mostintelligent of the town, right,
were these astrologers, were thespiritual guides, and I was
talking about this the other daywith someone that there's this

(10:33):
saying that's like millionaireshave therapists, billionaires
have astrologers, or somethinglike that, and someone was
asking me about this and I waslike, well, the thing is, is
that back in these earlycivilizations, the people that
had access to astrologers werelike the royalty, the kings and
queens, the aristocracy, and sominds like ours weren't given to

(10:59):
the quote-unquote normal peopleof the day.
So of course, people have grown,or we've been conditioned, to
think that that's not for us,but for me.
I want to make this asaccessible to everyone as
possible.
This is your information tohave.
This is your birth chart.

(11:21):
Unfortunately, not all of uslearned how to read them, but
that's what I can do, and soit's your information to have,
and I'm basically just thatvessel to give you that
information.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
I love how you just share that, because isn't that
the truth is like the wealthyhad the access to people like
you and now everybody does.
It's this huge secret, but notsecret.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
It's a huge secret, but not secret, that's exactly
the way to put it.
And every time the reason Ireally got into wanting to be an
astrologer was because I waslooking for an astrologer myself
, because mine had unfortunatelyunexpectedly passed away, and
so I really wanted to findsomeone like her and that spoke

(12:05):
like her, and so I was trying tofind all these different people
and the charges, the cost, thepackages, the price was just
astronomical for a better term, and I just don't believe in
gatekeeping this informationfrom humans.
This is your information tohave.

(12:26):
These are 34 symbols thatunfortunately, not everyone you
know can really, I guess, fathomor like understand the full
concept of it.
And so my old astrologer sheused to say astrology is a
science, delineation is the art,and with my background in

(12:48):
musical theater, of course I'm astoryteller.
There's a big part of that butI have a lot of empathy and a
big, big, big intuition, and soit's been really amazing to talk
with clients and say certainthings that all of a sudden I
see their eyes, you know, widena smile, come over, kind of a

(13:09):
crash of relief, this wave thatcomes over them of oh my gosh,
I've never been able to put itinto words, and you just put it
into words for me.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Oh, my goodness.
Well, this is great.
We are talking today about BossBabe, summer, you know, and
leveling up in life and career.
So how will this help our BossBabes out there?

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Well, here's the thing I'm like any sort of
awareness that you gain, nomatter where it is in your life,
what area of life, thatawareness is going to help you
in every other realm.
And so with businessspecifically, and with women.
You know, we as a culture haveconditioned women to maybe dream

(13:54):
a little bit smaller when itcomes to business, or taking
away the femininity in businessand that creativity.
And so what's amazing is thatwhen I read someone's chart and
I say you know, this is kind ofthe perception that you were
born with.
This is something that mightinspire you or, for lack of a

(14:19):
better term, let a fire throughyour ass.
I don't know if I can say thathere, but there's certain are
going to be as inspiring to thatperson as it is.
And so when you're listening to, when we're having this
conversation cause it's aconversation, I'm not here to
just sit here and be like thisis what it says in your chart,

(14:40):
which means that this is exactlywhat's going to happen.
So you're only going to do this.
No, it's a conversation.
We talk about it, you get toask questions and clarify and,
like there's so much of us thatwe forget that we have the
ability to tap into our drive orour will or our courage.

(15:02):
And so for someone that's alittle bit more insecure, not
knowing, not sure if they wantto start something or not sure
if they want to keep going.
There are different areas ofthe chart that you can tap into
and look at and just talk about, and there are some massive
revelations that can happen.

(15:22):
That I had to go through myselfin my own life was oh well, I
saw that my mom was anincredible stay-at-home mom.
I'm going to be an incrediblestay-at-home mom.
That's all I want to be, andthat to me I mean amazing.
If you can be a stay at homemom, what a dream.
I'm like.
That's amazing.
But all of a sudden, what Irealized was my fear of being

(15:47):
anything more.
I was just covering that upwith this other, I guess like
fantasy, if that makes any sense.
So once I had my birth chartread professionally and she was
telling me you know, you'remeant to run your own business,
you're meant to go throughthings so that you can heal, so
you can help others heal, I waslike I don't want to have to go

(16:11):
through all this stuff, so I canhelp others heal.
I don't want to have to do this.
And I was like and I don't wantto work for myself.
And throughout the years I'mlike wait a second, no, I am
working for myself, that'sexactly what I'm doing.
I am healing.
So there were things that, evenwhen I had my birth chart read
for the first time, that Iwanted to reject just because of
that fear.
And now I'm like I think mypurpose is surpassing my fear.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
That's fantastic.
Can people access you from allover the world?

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Yes, of course you can head over to
lovinglyadriecom, no matterwhere you are, and set up a
reading with me.
Or look from El Salvador.
So I'm a first generationAmerican, so I do have, you know
, some clients that are born indifferent countries, which is
the best, because all of that iswhat shifts your chart really
is location, time and yourbirthday, and so being able to

(17:18):
see how these differentplanetary functions manifest.
I mean, we're all humans and nomatter where you're born, no
matter where you're from, we allhave the judgments, all of the
conditioning that we've gonethrough.
We're all people and it's veryneutral and it's a really

(17:45):
beautiful thing.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
I love how you just described that.
That's beautiful.
Yes, oh my gosh, adriana, Ihave had so much fun, so you've
given us your social media.

can perhaps follow you, thatthey can get more information
and, you know, not just fromyour website?
