both Drop Ship Lifestyle membersand non members alike, designed

stronger, healthier business. Something that not just makes
them money, but that can grow exponentially for years to come.
(00:20):
And today I wanted to hop on to share a message with you with
something that is very relevant and timely because it's what
I've been doing this morning forI don't know, the past six hours
now on a Friday, October 4th. That's what I'm sending this
message out here to, to the world and to you.
But what I want to talk about iswhy less haste often equals more
(00:41):
speed. Now as you know what, we
officially just entered Q4, I guess three days ago now, four
days ago now. And for most people, the, the,
the madness starts when, you know, the first Black Friday
sale goes out, right? But for me, actually the busiest
time of the year is now leading up to it because you know, you
(01:02):
want to obviously have the best queue forever.
But in order to do that, you need to prepare.
You need to figure out all of your promotions for all of your
businesses. If you have multiple, you need
to figure out your ad angles andcreate your ads.
You need to figure out which emails you're going to be
sending. You need to write those emails
and schedule those emails and all of these things together.
You know, takes takes time, which is fine.
(01:23):
This is what I love doing, but Ifound myself kind of going back
to my old ways, if you will, andjust diving right into the work
and just trying to move fast because again, it's a lot and
not that I don't like to do it, but it is a lot.
So I just jumped into it and I found myself after, I don't
know, maybe a week of putting ina few hours a day being like,
(01:43):
what am I even doing? That might sound ridiculous, but
if you already run your business, you know what I'm
talking about Kind of when you are moving so fast with haste
that it leads to errors and it leads to things that should have
been avoided and could have beenavoided, avoided.
And luckily, you know, started this planning now, so there's
plenty of time to to revise things.
(02:04):
But what I realized is before I actually started doing the work
that needs to be done, I did nothave a plan that I could just
simply follow to avoid errors and especially repeated errors.
Now I'll talk more about that, but this isn't just relevant to
Q4. I'm only sharing that because
this is how it appeared in my life just now.
But this is something that I actually do teach in the drop
(02:26):
ship blueprints when it comes tobuilding multiple stores,
especially for beginners. While I think having multiple
stores is great, I always recommend people build their
first store 1st. Get it to a point where it is
profitable and it is maximized and then build store 2.
Because what happens if you are new and you start with two
stores? Well, you're going to make the
same mistakes twice. You're going to have to go back
(02:48):
and fix things two times. So that's exactly what kind of I
found myself in. I was spreading myself too thin,
rushing through everything without a plan laid out of how I
actually want to attack this. Now, I don't mean in my specific
situation here, a plan with whatpromotions we're going to run
and what dates we're going to run them that I will have locked
in. But what I should have done and
(03:09):
what I spent this morning doing is actually outlining a system
for how each promotion is going to be created.
So for example, what is step oneof the process?
What is Step 2? What is step three?
What is Step 4? What is Step 5, for example,
promotion idea? What is the actual promotion
going to be run? Step 2, what are going to be the
angles for this promotion? How are we going to talk about
(03:31):
it to make it unique and stand out in people's inboxes?
Step 3, how are we going to or which I should say images do we
want to have designers create for these promotions?
Step 4, what is the ad copy going to look like?
Step 5, what is the e-mail copy going to look like?
Step 6. How are the emails going to be
transferred? Transferred into Shopify e-mail
and scheduled. So instead of having this
(03:53):
process where I can literally clone it literally duplicated in
Google Sheets five times and follow it step by step for each
5 promotions. Instead I was just kind of
jumping around and what does that lead to?
Well, haste again leads to errors and those errors get
repeated when especially you're working on multiple projects at
the same time. So took me back to a quote
(04:13):
whenever I hear it just resonates with me.
But it wasn't in my head for thepast week or so when I found
myself in this situation. And I'm sure this is one that
pretty much everybody's heard, but from Abraham Lincoln when he
was quoted about chopping down atree, he said if I had eight
hours to chop, chop down a tree,I'd spend 6 hours sharpening my
axe. And that's what I did this
morning for myself, right? I sharpened my axe by making
(04:36):
these systemized procedures, so now I have something to follow
for each of these five promotions, so I'm not going to
make the same mistakes five times and so that I can actually
move faster by avoiding this haste and not working with it.
So for you, right, I wanted to share that too because it made
my life a lot easier and took away some stress I've been
having while I'm trying to manage all at the same time.
And I wanted to share this with you, not just for Q4 promotions,
(04:59):
but for anything that you are working on in your business.
Maybe that's even setting up your business for your first
time. We all do want to move fast
because hopefully like me, you are excited about this stuff.
We all want to get as much done in the shortest amount of time
possible. And again, that's great.
But if you don't have a plan in place that you're following and
you just moved with hate and youmove with haste, I should say,
(05:21):
instead of moving with speed, following a system, it's going
to lead to errors. It's going to lead to double
work. And double work is the last
thing I want as somebody that really values the lifestyle side
of things and being able to havethat time freedom and not having
to go back and constantly correct things or redo them.
So if you find yourself again with anything you're working on
feeling that stress or feeling that pressure, I would just
(05:42):
suggest to you maybe spend an hour or two instead of doing the
work, actually planning the work.
And then once that plan is in place, all the, you know, steps
have been covered, then get to work, check things out or cross
them off as you get them done and life will become a lot
easier and work will become a lot more enjoyable again.
So I don't know, probably a short episode today, but
hopefully this, this hit home with some people and resonated
(06:05):
with you. Whether you're planning for Q4
or again, building your first store or anything in between, I
would, I would seriously consider this because it helped
me and made me feel a lot bettergoing into the weekends.
Now that I am, I'm actually doing things efficiently.
