This foundational parable is the most important one Jesus ever taught. How we receive and nurture God's Word determines the fruit we bear in our lives. There are four types of ground where seed can fall - the wayside, stony ground, thorny ground, and good ground.
Satan seeks to steal God's Word before it can take root and bear fruit. If our hearts are like the wayside, the enemy will quickly snatch away the Word before we can fully understand it. But if we have a receptive heart and good soil, God's truth will take deep root and produce a bountiful harvest.
