(00:44):

the Independence Day the year as well, my friend, thanks man, we're
independent countries high. Yeah. Well, I'm sure your holiday was a little
bit better than mine was. Wewere camping. I mean you saw videos
of that. We camping. Wegot a trailer, got caught in a
(01:07):
out of nowhere literally out of nowhere, golf sizes, golf ball size hail
just first hour straight. My car'sdented, the ship, Sarah's hiding in
the bush. You ran to tryto park the car under trees. I'm
like, where the hell did shego? She's fucking like, hunker down
in between trees. Just I'm watching, just fucking hail pop off off the
(01:30):
car. I'm in the trailer withthe little guy. I'm outside the trailer.
All of a sudden, I'm standingthere. All of a sudden,
hail comes right through her owning.I'm like, holy shit's crazy. Whatever,
we'll see what happens. But yeah, if anybody's INTERNCE agents out there,
your job is bullshit and you guysgot to be better. Yep,
(01:53):
a scam bro. I'm sorry Samthe whole thing. Did you know if
I was driving, If I wasdriving, say to the campground, or
I was coming home and we gotcaught in a hell yale storm, yeah,
it wouldn't be covered because it's notparked. I was driving. Wow,
how fucked up is that? It'scrazy? Yeah, So nonetheless it
(02:15):
was good. I crushed RUMs afterwardsbecause it's guess all you can really do.
Got drunk and we left the nextday. Yeah, um, really
quick, Um what Dan was hegonna say? Oh, if the first
time you're listening, this is Clintonand I, uh, you know,
we have a we have a wehave a fun podcast. We've been doing
(02:35):
this twenty sixteen. Wow, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. So anyways,
I appreciate you guys listening to forthe first time. You guys that
come back year after year after year. We appreciate it. Our numbers are
surprisingly really good. Um so Idon't know why, but you guys keep
listening, which we appreciate. Itold you, Joe, I told you
you since you started this saying youhave this following. It's like a cult.
(03:00):
Yeah, and it follows you around. It's kind of scary to be
honest with you, because I canhonestly see guys like, you know,
we can you know, like let'slet's call it soup Davier. I can
see him kidnapping you, buddy, and like putting you in the closet guy,
and we all have no idea whereyou are. And to be honest,
I probably won't even think about it. But okay, if I go
(03:20):
missing check suit Day's closet first,Dave's closet first, and you would be
feeding you nothing but hot dogs, nothing but hot dogs. You'll just put
hot dogs under the door. Yeah, Well, what's what's that? What's
that guy that? Uh, forgivemy ignorance? Guys, what's his name
is a joy Chestnu is that Yeah, you'll put him to shame after suit.
(03:42):
Dave's done with you, buddy.Yeah. So anyways, No,
we appreciate everybody you know listening againfor the first time. UM. You
know, look, we're not goingto, um give you a ten page
thesis on um you know, TrevorLawrence. That's not who we are.
Uh. We we put the weput the fun and fantasy football. Um,
(04:03):
that's not really a thing, butyou know we Uh, it's it's
all about them fun talking to yourfriends and and whoever else you're playing against.
UM. I don't really call myleague mates friends. None of them
are friends. I'm trying to killthem all every year. I hate them
money, same, same. Ireally hate everybody, Like said tom,
(04:24):
our first is when I really starthating everybody. Um. Can they get
really aggressive in the group chat. They're really aggressive, but right now it's
okay. But anyways, UM,guys, today we are going to go
through a mock draft. UM.If you guys aren't familiar with fan tracks,
make sure you go to fantracks dotcom slash e s F. Over
the years, I know we've talkedabout fantracks a lot, But I'm telling
(04:46):
you for sure this time, Um, year after year, they just keep
improving. I know, I saidthis on a previous podcast too. They
just keep improving, like they constantlyadding stuff. The interface is top notch
right now. If you go intoone of their mock drafts, they have
a ton going on, like everyhour. I think they're on the hour
on the every half hour. Gocheck them out. Like I said,
(05:08):
the interface is amazing. Um,they're super customizable. Basically, do whatever
you want with your league, andif you can't figure it out, you
just email support and they get rightback to you. Because the customer support
is probably the best out of everything, including all the big sites and small
sites. They probably had the bestcustomer support of all time. I would
agree with that, Dale. Andwhy I do fan tracks, I can.
(05:30):
I can speak on this and saythat I'm actually in I'm in two
leagues that we use fan tracks, and yes, the interface changed. The
update that they've done this year ishands down from last year, a thousand
times better. And I agree withcustomer service. They're on it like that.
We I have other other leagues thatI'm in as well, not so
(05:50):
supportive but however, I mean,I mean, fan tracks has been been
our goal to for about four orfive years now. So fantracks dot com,
slash EESF. It's important to goto the slash ESF so you know,
they can know that we sent youand yeah, and you know,
(06:11):
if they we want them to bepartners for we want them to be our
partners for a long time. Andthere's no better way to do that than
letting them know that, Hey,we're sitting a bunch of you guys to
their site to at least check itout. Put your put your league in
there, see how you feel, mess around, test drive it a little
bit, and I promise you you'regonna like it. You're gonna like it.
Anyways. Oh the coolest thing andI forgot to mention because I was
(06:34):
going to actually say this first. They're doing a new contest this year.
Every year they do something pretty cool. This year they are giving away tickets
for your league to go to anyNFL game of your choice. So make
sure you go to fantracks. AndI know you have to follow them on
social and do a couple of otherthings. Make sure you check them out.
(06:55):
You know, applaud you know, enter the contests. It's free and
you guys can get hooked up,your league can get hooked up. And
you know, I was saying onanother podcast, you know, go to
Miami and uh, you know inNovember it's beautiful down there anyways, So
yeah, it make sure you gofantracks dot com slash e s. Did
you just say you're on a nailanother podcast? No, I recorded a
(07:19):
podcast without you. You wouldn't knowthat, but I recorded one without you,
and I wanted to do it allin American podcasts before the July Oh
there you go. Yeah, andyou blew it. I did hear a
snippet of it, and it sucks. Yeah, yeah, all right.
Now, look, my audio isn'tWe're dealing with a lot. I think
it's like kind of preseason technical difficulties. We're doing this mock draft, but
(07:41):
we don't have video to it,so my apologies. And then the last
episode that I posted isn't great audioquality either. I promise you was gonna
get figured out. We're gonna soundamazing. A lot of people like to
go to sleep to my voice. It's that's how soothing I usually am.
Did you actually post that terrible audiopodcast. I'm fixing it, so chill,
(08:01):
holy man, I was like, nobody's listening more than two seconds of
that. All right, let's talksome mock crat Boddy, all right,
come on, mock draft. Idrafted from the third position. Okay,
um, our first mock draft ofthe year. I want to do something
that was kind of predictable a littlebit, and it turned out to be
pretty productable. Um, but Iwant to get your feelings on this,
Clayton, uh PPR mock draft.I feel pretty good about it. You
(08:26):
want, I'll go through who wasdrafted a little before and who was drafted
a little after me, and youtell me what you think, Clayton,
what do you think? Okay, let's just do it, all right.
So I'm drafting third, third overall. So one and two went Jefferson,
Chase. I don't have a problemwith that. If you go Chase Jefferson,
if you want right, no,one hundred percent. If if I'm
drafting from any of the anywhere inround one, I'm going to be trying
(08:48):
to grab I don't know, I'vekind of gone away from the whole running
back running backs scenaris that I've donein the past. Yeah, um,
I'm I want one of these eliteUM wide receivers in the first round of
every draft that I'm in. Allthe mocks I've been doing, I've been
trying to go lean that way,and yeah, Chase Jefferson perfect right there,
(09:09):
and then just sorry, I'll justtalk about years real quick. McCaffrey,
nothing wrong with that. There's onlytwo guys, two running backs I
want in the first round, andMcCaffrey's one of them. Yep. I
knew that if I didn't get McCaffrey, I would end up with somebody like
Stevenson or Pollard as my RB one. I wasn't. I'm not crazy about
that, So I grab if you'reor if you're if you're picking early and
(09:31):
you don't get Chaser Jefferson, Imean, I guess cup Digs are kind
of like, you know, closeto that, but I'm getting McCaffrey or
Eckler because I know nothing's good isgoing to come back around to me if
I'm drafting that early in the firstround, you know, with the Snake
Draft. Yeah, we're on thesame page though, Like you just mentioned
about, you know, about cupor Digs or something like that. I'd
(09:52):
even throw Hill in that in thatstare as well. But okay, yeah,
so all right, so I gotMcCaffrey after that, the usual suspects.
Kelsey went middle of the first Um, Jonathan Taylor went the end of
the first uh, and then aj. Brown at the at the end.
Come coming back around with guys likeCeedee Lamb, Nick Chubb. I'm
(10:18):
on Saint Brown, Jalen Hurts,Josh Jacobs went right before me. I
would have liked Josh Jacobs at youknow, the end of the second round.
I think that would have been okay, But instead I at two ten,
I got Garrett Wilson. Look, and I just did the podcast about
it, and I sort of defendingmy honor a little bit. I love
Garrett Wilson. Hmm. I'm onthe same page like Dale. The way
(10:43):
that you picked here, I thinkyour next pick that that I'm looking at,
I think that was a little bitof a reach. However, Um,
the way that this all goes up, I'm just going to bring up
a round one. This is apreference thing for me. I'm not a
big fan of taking Kelsey in thefirst round this year. I'm not sure
why. I mean, I know, he's been basically hands down the best
(11:05):
tight end in the league for thelast X amount of years. However,
I think I don't know, justmaybe because I don't know, I'm just
fading him a little bit. Ithink this year maybe late late in the
first round, but not in thetop six, like he was picked here
and then however, Garret Wilson,I love him in the second round.
(11:26):
I think that's a perfect spot.You grabbed him. I like him.
You know, there's other guys thatyou know that went before him that I
would also like in that spot,Like you said, Saint Brown, Jaylen
Waddle, stuff like that. Ilike all those guys in the second round.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, SoJaylen Wattle was picked after my Garret
Wilson pick. So basically at GarrettWilson over Waddle Tony Pollard. Did he
(11:58):
hear what I said? No?No? Oh, sorry, I said,
uh, I was really considering eitherBrief Hall, Jalen Wattle, or
Tony Pollard, but I ended uppicking Wilson instead. Why did your audio
go all weird again? Does itsound weird? Now? Yeah? You're
like super clear now, like you'relike and you're like right in there.
(12:18):
You're like there really, so Iokay or not? Do I sound good
or not? You sound different? Now? Yeah? It's whatever it is
what it is. I hate mylife right now. I hate this what's
(12:39):
going on. I don't know. You sound like you're like you grabbed the
micro here, but you're sound good. It sounds very echoy how about that?
Not sorry, not equally. Itjust sounds like you're outside and just
talking real loud. Okay, allright, you go tell me tell me
(13:01):
next. You're looking at my mockdraft. Okay. So then like after
after you took your Garrett Wilson,we saw you know, a few running
backs fly off the board where wegot you know, Jacobs Henry Um so
our first quarterback come off that wasJalen Hurts ahead of both Mahomes and Allen
which is that's uh, I haven'tseen that one yet. Um. Then
(13:22):
follow through you know you got thoseyou had the two quarterbacks school after where
after that? Um? Nick Chubbalso went surprising one for me is Davante
Adams there. Someone picked him attwelve. I'm pushing him down into the
third round. Um right now, like I'd rather have guys like a lave
up there. Um, it's close, but DeVonta Smith as well, and
(13:45):
then coming back down to the thirdround, you grabbed Higgins. To me,
that's a little bit of a reachin my opinion, especially like you
mentioned you said, there's guys likeBreeze Hall went two picks after you did
in the third, right, Iwould have rather had either one of those
running backs Stephen cinem or Hall, both which went right after you, and
even I'm not going to complain ifNaj Harris was there, So I think
(14:07):
you should have left Higgins. Ithink had you grabbed one of those running
backs, I personally think you couldhave easily got Higgins coming background in the
fort Really you think so? Yeah? Yep, you see. I was
a little worried because Garrett Wilson isn'ta home run I feel like Christian McCaffrey
was, and so I wanted toI'm just heading my bets here Garrett Wilson
(14:28):
and T Higgins. There was reallynot a better. Would you rather got
an olav Olava over Higgins? Youknow what? I like, I would
have taken a love in the secondround, to be honest with you,
all right, So maybe I whippedon that. Let's good to know,
all right, so let's keep goingthe end of the third. Guys like
Ettien Naj Harris, Deebo Samuel werepicked in the third. I think your
(14:52):
next pick is a steel Where yougot him? Okay, let's talk about
him. Did you mirror Gibbs he'sat I mean where we see a guy
that like, I mean, peopleare sleeping on him. I think because
of the whole David Montgomery thing,I'm not too worried about that. We've
seen the way that Detroit runs thisoffense. Uh, we've seen Swift and
(15:13):
Um Williams have have big time orbe fantasy relevant. Did in that offense?
I think they didn't draft Gibbs atwhere did draft them? Well?
I believe something like that. Umto sit on the bench and just sit
behind you know, and I meanI could say an aging David montgomerybody's older
(15:35):
than older than Gibbs. I think, I don't know, man Gibbs in
the fourth round I think is solidas your RB two. Okay, interesting,
Okay, all right? After that, Ridley DJ Moore, Uh,
Dvin Cook, we did it doesn'teven have a team yet, but I
(15:58):
mean beginning of the fifth round forAlvin Cook, what do you think,
Oh, you're definitely taking a shotat him there for sure. I mean,
I mean we're from what I understand, he's good chance he's going to
be signing in Miami. It's agood landing spot. They do have quite
a few months to feed there. But I mean Dalvin Cook, he's had.
The only hesitation I do have ofDalvin Cook is the amount the wear
(16:21):
and tear on him throughout the years. I mean, I mean, running
the ball three hundred plus times everyseason that he's had. Eventually, I
think at times you're going to breakdown at some point. So I mean
he's you know, he's had ahandful of injuries right, um, But
we'll see, we'll see. Butin the fifth round for a guy that
could be huge as crazy, youknow what? Yeah, does he have
(16:44):
to top twelve up sign? Yes? Okay, all right after that,
Miles Sanders New Carolina Panther I gotas my third wide receiver in the fifth
round. Down Drake London. Whatdo you feel about Drake London? I
felt like I was mousing over DrakeLondon and Terry McLaurin here, to be
(17:11):
honest, you I mean, yougo down to the seventh round, I
personally would have went quarterback here justbecause we kind of saw all of these,
um you know, we've seen HurtsMahomes, Alan go Burrow, Herbert
Fields has gone. I would haveliked I mean, if Fields would have
dropped, you would have been anice spot right there. But I mean,
(17:36):
okay, okay, well what aboutthis in the fifth round. Okay,
you're saying, maybe take Fields. But in the seventh round, Trevor
Lawrence, Dak Prescott, into areall available, which is crazy to me,
Which is yeah, which is nutsto me. I mean I would
have had we saw Lawrence, butLawrence went after Deshaun Watson, which is
(17:56):
crazy to me. And I can'teven believe that. Uh, the other
quarterbacks are kind of given the wayit is, I think whoever, Yeah,
I think Watson is not should notbe drafted ahead of a guy like
Trevor Lawrence for sure. Okay, all right, and then let's see the
(18:21):
fifth round was George Kittle, DamianPierce at the end of the fifth round.
It's decent value I think for DamianPierce. Um beginning of the sixth
round, Swift Acres, Kyle Pitts, Brandon I Yuk Mike Evans and Mike
(18:44):
Evans went back to back. Thatwas kind of interesting. Um, I
think a Yuke is far far bettervalue at that pick at six six seven,
at six point six point zero seven. Yeah, I think. I
mean, really, if you're thinkingof about it this way, if you
look at Evans has fallen, let'sbe realistic because of this quarterback position,
right of course. I mean it'sno Brady Brady throwing him the ball.
(19:07):
But now you got to look atit this way too and say, um,
I like, who's this quarterback wantto be? That's the biggest thing,
right, we still don't know, right, I mean, if say
it is Lance, I mean, does he have that chemistry with au guys,
say a guy like Purdy? Didyou know what I mean? Or
is it going to be Sam Darnoldin there that you know, you know
(19:30):
he never played never played a gamewith Ayuk, Right, So I mean,
if you're looking at it from thatpoint of view, I mean I'll
smash Auk. I mean I wouldtake Evans over at you in the scenario.
I mean, they did go backto back, but I do like
Evans a little bit better than IYeah, Okay, we disagree it's okay,
all right for my third so Ihave three wide receivers. My third
(19:53):
running back is James Connor in theend of the sixth round. Um,
after that, Godwin, what doyou think decent into the sixth round for
James Connor? Ride, I preferI would prefer to have Rashad White there,
which went two spots after after youpicked. Um. However, I
(20:15):
do like who you are before isyeah, and then my r before is
David Montgomery because I got him athird pick in the seventh round. Yeah,
like we mentioned before, I meanthat's this. This Detroit offense can
both can have two running backs withvalue. However, you did grab both
of them, But I mean it'snot going to fade you anyway. I
(20:36):
mean you could play both of them, flex one of them wouldn't be an
issue. So maybe maybe I justreally I wanted to see where they landed
and how how that would's gonna look. That's what Mark joshs are about.
You could make these split second decisionsand look after afterwards and see where you
can improve. After I drafted,I saw a couple of things, like
the t Higgins thing was a littlequestionable. That's okay, I mean that's
(20:57):
what Mark jos are for. Um, I'm not ring. This isn't a
championship team, but I do likehow to see how it kind of played
out, right, You got yougot guys with upside though, that's for
sure. I think if you're lookingat this core group of guys that you
do have here, we'll go througha real quick McCaffrey, Wilson, Higgins,
Gibbs, London, Connor Montgomery.I think one of the little let's
(21:22):
just say your worst picks of thedraft or not say worst picks of the
deck is value would be the KayHiggins pick like you met, you said,
because if you would have thrown arunning back in that spot, like
a Stevenson or Breese Hall, Imean I think you could have you know,
got a guy like I don't knowat the same time. So if
you look at it this way,Higgins probably would have been picked in one
(21:44):
of those spots. I mean, you could have had a guy like Calvin
Ridley there as in your fourth youknow what I mean, stuff like yeah
yeah, yeah yeah, and stillgot a guy like Gibbs on the way
back, you know what I mean, or even a Dalvin Cook. Right,
So that's uh yeah cool. Um. Yeah, So that was my
mock draft. Again. It wasdone on fan tracks you guys, make
(22:07):
sure you go to fantracks dot comslash esf just to check it out.
Good good stuff. Um the draft. We're gonna do live drafts on YouTube.
Like I said, we're trying toget through these technic little difficulties for
some reason. My mike is fuckedup, our cameras aren't looking great.
We got to work sometulf out.But I just I want to get you
guys some content. It's July,it's time to start thinking about fantasy football.
(22:29):
So I hope this helped you atleast to get in the right frame
of mind whatever my frame of mindmind, yeah whatever. Yeah, and
I'll probably maybe be jumping on hereat the odd time just doing a solo
mock draft as well. There yougo. So yeah, all right,
man, guys, again, weappreciate you listening. Make sure you uh,
I don't know, um give us, oh, give us five to
(22:52):
start review on iTunes. We haven'tgotten those in a long time. I
haven't asked, we haven't gotten, but um do that if you want,
if you have, I think weran out of friends, Buddy, I
don't think that's the problem. Wehave nobody to like bride in there,
you know what I mean. Anyways, guys, I appreciate y'all. Uh,
we're gonna do food marks. Imean this was a seven round mark.
Um get kind of Let's step ourtoes in the water, right,
(23:15):
But we'll talk to you guys soon. Yeah. Sleep Fantasy you're rocking with
