(00:22):
I know you planned to be joiningmy son, Eat Sleep Fantasy,
Jack, Eat Sleep fantas See EatSleep Fantasy. Hello everybody, and welcome
to another episode of the Eat SleepFantasy Football Podcast. My name is Dale.
Thanks for joining us, thanks fordownloading, listening, and all all
that their good stuff. Today we'remaking a little change here. Um.
(00:46):
I suspended Clayton from the podcast forone episode. M He just, uh,
you know, he wasn't staying inline. So I looked for the
next closest Canadian and I found Mikey. You're pretty You're pretty clost to the
Canadian border. It's the best Ican do on short notice. I don't
know any other Canadian besides Clayton,So I said, whynot, asked Mikey.
(01:07):
He has a little bit of aI'm not gonna Um, I'm not
gonna insult you by saying you havea Canadian accent, but it's it's as
close as you're gonna get without havinga Canadian accent. I have a Midwestern
Wisconsin accent for sure, and Idon't say nothing wrong with that. Dale.
I don't think anybody knows Canadian besidesClayton, So I'm with you there.
So if you guys don't know him, Um, he's been around ESF
(01:30):
for a while. I'll plug allyour stuff and I don't Mikey Heninger is
who I'm talking to now with BasementBrute Fantasy Football. Um, we'll get
into all that stuff. Great websitethat he's building over their great subscription service,
so we'll talk about that in aminute. Um, I just want
to kind of get through what we'regonna get today. We're gonna just talk
(01:51):
about quarterbacks, running backs, tightends, wide receiver rankings thoughts. I
know Mikey has put it in alot of thought and research into some of
these guys. So basically, thewhole episode is gonna be me throwing softballs
and him knocking it out of thepark over and over and over again.
UM, So we'll see how thatgoes and what else, I don't really
have any other housekeeping. Um youknow, well, like I said,
(02:15):
uh, Mikey, after you showyour your talents here, we'll take halftime
and you can tell everybody what's up. I kind of want to get right
into it because I think there isa lot of fun stuff to talk about.
Um, you know, when whenwe're doing these rankings, I don't
know whether to talk, you know, go from you know, the top
guys down because look, everybody knowsPatrick Mahomes, Josh Allen's Jalen Hurts the
ideal right right, Um, soyou know, yes, you can argue
(02:39):
you know, Josh Allen, PatrickMahomes or vice versa, but we're gonna
do it anyway. It's just becauseit's a podcast and that's what podcasting is
totally fair. So last year,Mikey, you know, Patrick Mahomes,
m Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, points per game, we're all really close
and actually, you know, prettymuch you throw Joe Burrow maybe that tier
(03:00):
of like the elite points per gameguys. So let's just talk about those
kind of elite elite quarterbacks Mahomes,Alan Hurts, Burrow. Is there anything
out of that group? That anyred flags in that first group there,
No, I wouldn't say necessarily anyred flags, And I think it's totally
safe to bunch them all into thesame tier. If not a you know,
(03:23):
I do candidly I have Joe Burrowin a separate tier. I actually
have them even lower than Lamar Jackson. That might not last too long,
but I think Josh Allen, PatrickMahomes, Jalen Hurts, those guys are
about as interchangeable as it gets froma fantasy football standpoint. I would say
a couple of the things that Ithink are red flags and the most alarming.
(03:45):
The first couple of things that cometo mind are Josh Allen, the
whole Stefon Diggs situation with him,you know, beefing with the Buffalo front
office is kind of It's concerning tosome degree. It's obviously want to make
sure that Stefan Diggs is going tobe there. The other thing, and
I mentioned this in my rankings overon the site, but Josh Allen is
actually according to Vegas sports Books currentlyso like Draft Kings sports book, he's
(04:12):
pegged for only quote unquote only fortythree passing yards and thirty two point five
passing touchdowns. Those are his overunders for the year, which is weird
because both of those numbers are lowerthan what we've seen from him in the
last I think three seasons. Yeah, so like to me that that's a
(04:33):
little bit alarming that those over undersare lower than they have been. It
seems like Vegas is expecting a kindof step back for Josh Allen. The
same thing actually goes for Joe Burrow. I actually just wrote about him,
like right before this call, thathis over unders are significantly lower than they've
been in each of the past twoseasons, which I think is weird because
(04:54):
there's all the turmoil with Joe Mixon. He's gonna have Jamar Chase, he
Higgins is going for another contract. So it's it's interesting to me that those
over unders are lower than they havebeen. But candidly, all that means
is I'm taking the over on bothof those scenarios. Sure you you're break
up on my end. I don'tknow if it's how it's gonna come on
the podcast, But you're talking aboutJoe Burrow compared to Josh Allen, Right,
(05:15):
those two over those two guys, right, Uh, Well, Joe
Burrow I would say I actually havehim probably in the next tier. I
think it's Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen hurts as that like first year,
got you, I got you,I understand, I understand, Okay,
all right, um you know,I mean just looking at some of
their numbers last year, obviously,Patrick Mahomes dominated with fifty two hundred yards
(05:36):
passing yards, way more than anybodyelse in the NFL. I mean almost
a thousand yards, thousand yards morethan Josh Allen. Looking at the points
per game though, going back tothat next tier of quarterbacks when we're talking
about Joe Burrow, and you cantell me where you ranked them, but
you know, Joe Burrow, evenguys like Lamar Jackson, who only played
(05:57):
twelve games last year m twa aswell around twenty two points per game with
the games that he did play whenhe was on the field he only played
thirteen games. Uh, you knowthose guys. How much do you look
into when you're ranking players? Youknow, because it can get I think,
um, I think rankings can getdefleated or deflated when you're looking at
overall performances from last year. UM. So you know, guys, even
(06:20):
the Kyler Murray. You know,I know a lot of people hate him,
um, and he had some hugegames and some really really really shitty
ones. But even guys like thatwho you know, the points per game
was up there, they just didn'tplay enough. Where do you have those
guys guys like I have mentioned youknow, Murray to uh yeah, Jackson
Jackson, good question. So KylerMurray I'm basically out on in twenty twenty
(06:44):
three. He's in all likelihood he'snot going to be playing until at least
the middle of the season most likely. And I don't know if you were
anybody listening. Follows doctor Depec Shonaon Twitter. Um, he's a like
sports medicine doctor and he's a bigfantasy fool ball guy. Great follow for
anybody who's looking for like injury analysis. And he he too. He's completely
(07:06):
out on Kyler Murray. It's thesort of thing where it's he's gonna miss
like half the season, and thenwhen he does come back, he's not
gonna have de Andre Hopkins is goingto be in a brand new offense.
Everybody who relies on Kyler Murray forhis legs and he's coming off an a
c L injury. There's just there'svery little optimism for Kyler Murray this year.
Now twenty twenty four is a differentstory. I have him all the
(07:27):
way down somewhere around pick one seventyKyler Murray, So I'm basically out on
him entirely to a thag of Valoa. I have him around pick ninety.
I have him grouped with about DakPrescott. It's not a little bit behind
Deshaun Watson, not too far behindTrevor Lawrence, and then ahead of guys
like Aaron Rodgers, Anthony Richardson, etc. So I think Ta is obviously
(07:50):
one of those guys that there's riskthere considering the the brain injuries, but
there's also we've seen week winning upsidefrom him. He had one a six
touchdown game in Week two I thinklast year. So we know as long
as he's got Tyreek Hill, JalenWaddle, you know, and you got
Mike McDaniel calling the shots over there, TA has that like QB one upside.
(08:13):
So I think he's best treated aslike a mid to back end QB
one. I think he's he's oneof the better late round QB targets this
year. Yeah, I mean heplayed to have played four less games than
Aaron Rodgers and only had what oneone less touchdown than Aaron Rodgers did last
year. Yeah, and it wasa down year for Rodgers, who by
(08:37):
the way, he's I think he'sa great late round target this year as
well. But yeah, to aI mean too was his season was incredible
last year prior to the concussions whereeverything kind of went downhill. So everybody's
hoping he can just kind of regainthat form a little bit. One last
question about quarterbacks, and you caninsert whoever else you you think you flag
(09:00):
that you want to talk about. But the last guy I really want to
talk about as justin fields. Ohyeah, you know, the big,
the big, crazy bold number isover eleven hundred rushing yards. Regardless of
what he does in the air,any quarterback with over a thousand rushing yards
is going to be valuable. Wherehow valuable is he to you? And
so let me put it this way. I betting is still illegal in Wisconsin,
(09:26):
which is where I'm from, butwe did recently open up a sports
book at the local casino, soI very recently went and made my first
let's call him legal bets in Wisconsin. As a Packer fan, I selected
I picked Justin Fields to win MVPthis year. Now I don't think he
will win MVP, but I lovedhis odds. He had the eleventh best
(09:50):
quote unquote best odds of winning MVP, and he very much has that Jalen
Hurtz type Lamar Jackson type of upsidebecause of his eggs where we've already seen
those guys. You know, LamarJackson was an MVP and Jalen Hurts was
a very close runner up last year. Justin Field's entering the third year of
his contract. He has you know, they'd got a bona fide wide receiver
(10:11):
one in Dj Moore. Darnell Mooney'scoming back in a contract year, Cole
Commett will be back in a contractyear, and now Chase Claypool's going to
have a whole offseason under his belt. In that offense, Suddenly, you
know Chicago's offense, which was prettybad last year, suddenly that that offense
can be looks like it can bepretty scary. And of course, you
know, the floor is about assafe as it can get. There's nobody
(10:33):
who had more rushing yards, noquarterback who had more rushing yards than Justin
Fields last year, and the ceilingis through the roof with those new weapons,
plus you know that rushing ability thatwe've been talking about. So I
think if anybody were to make thatleap, it's going to be Justin Fields.
However, he's being drafted that wayalready. He's he's being drafted in
(10:54):
like the fourth and fifth rounds, when usually you see like Jalen Hurts last
year, I think was still aboutan eighth round pick even though we saw
that potential. And I think becauseof Jalen Hurts last year, people are
trying to jump the gun on JustinFields, which makes them a little bit
more risky this year than you thinkhe would have been in years past.
But yeah, man, if ifthere's anybody who's going to make that jump
(11:15):
into that elite tier, I wouldsay, it's Justin Fields for sure.
So where are you drafting Justin Fieldsat, say redraft? So I've taken
him a couple of times around thatfour or five turn, and I try
to stack him with DJ Moore whereverI can, which is kind of a
fascinating strategy considering the Bears finished deadlast and passing attempts like by far,
(11:37):
Justin Fields attempted fewer than twenty twopasses last year per game, which is
like, that's mind blowing to methat he threw that little But that should
change, right, they got ridof, not got rid of what they
let David Montgomery walk out the door. They beefed up their receiving course,
so theoretically they should be throwing theball a bit more. I'm fine with
the upside of taking Justin Fields assoon as the you know, late ish
(12:03):
fourth round, early fifth round.Earlier than that is a little bit tricky
because they're still dealing with some sometalent at wide receiver, you know,
Keenan Allen, Deebo, Samuel. But late fourth round, early fifth I'm
there's a lot you would think theBears and they're you know, the people
in charge, they're much smarter thanwe are. Uh, you know that
they would look at you know, they would look at these passing attempts a
saying, maybe we shouldn't be deadlast, you know, Justin Fields he
(12:30):
finished Depending on the format, hefinished around tenth overall with overall quarterbacks ye
sorry, tenth among quarterbacks with umIn Fantasy points, he had one hundred
and ninety two. I'm sorry,he had three hundred and eighteen attempts.
Justin Herbert was two spots ahead ofhim with six hundred ninety nine, right,
(12:52):
three hundred more attempts and only youknow, two spots in the quarterback
rankings hundred not that man, Andthat just goes to the show the secret
weapon that is the you know, rushing quarterbacks. And that's why everybody's looking
at like Anthony Richardson with the colds. It's like, is he going to
be the next Jalen Hurts? Butyeah, I mean I think you're spot
on Dale. It's Chicago. Youlike to think that they're they're smarter than
us. And you know what, last year's twenty one point something past attempts
(13:16):
per game kind of makes sense whenyou add some contexts. Right, there's
still there are question marks regarding JustinFields as a thrower of the football.
That's been the case since he cameout. And also, you know their
their wide receiver one last year wasa fifth round pick in Darnell Mooney,
who's much better cast in a widereceiver two role. Right, So you
(13:37):
know this year should look quite abit different that with they don't have David
Montgomery, they do have DJ Moore. There should be some more passing attempts,
which isn't necessarily a great thing forJustin fields because we you know that
that rushing ability is more valuable thanwhat he can do with his arm.
But either way, Chicago is goingto be running the offense through Justin fields
(14:00):
and that's that's what you want tosee in fantasy football. All right,
guys, let me talk to youreally quick. I'd say it every episode.
I'm gonna keep saying it. Fantracksdot com is a place to go
if you're looking for a new platformor if you're just looking for a nice
change of pace. If you're notalready with fantracks, they have a new
interface which is amazing. If youguys have seen them before, they updated
everything this uh this year. Fullfully customizable. I think the most customizable
(14:24):
fantasy football site on the internet.UM, you have live chat, mock
drafts, change your leagues over,it's really easy, great customer support.
I highly urge everybody to check outfantracks dot com slash eesf. If you
go to that site, make sureyou hit the slash ees F sign up.
UM that definitely helps us out.But again, the platform UM,
(14:45):
it's been around for a long timeand they keep making small changes to get
better and better, and I thinkit's one of the best websites. UM
one of the best platforms as faras fantasy before All goes. So make
sure you check them out. Fantracksdot Com, slash Ees. The SHSF
is important because they're a partner ofours and we want to keep that going.
And the more you support our partners, the better it is for everybody.
(15:07):
So we appreciate it. Let's um, let's move along from quarterbacks to
tight ends. And I hate spendingtime on tight ends, but I do
think it's worth at least mentioning. You know, after like number five,
it's like, okay, who cares? Um really? Yeah yeah, they
all just feel like dart throws tome. Honestly, it's Elsie or nothing.
(15:28):
It's yeah, yeah, yeah.So you know, are we that
podcast to debate you know, thenumber nine, ten, eleven, twelve
tight end? I don't know, maybe this is where this is going,
but maybe I'll force you to.Um sure, obviously Travis Kelsey right,
like he's good. I would draftthem? Yeah yeah, yeah, where
where where are we looking at withGeorge Kittle? Okay, let's talk about
(15:52):
George Kittle for a second, becauseI think it's pretty fascinating. Obviously amazing
talent, amazing ball catcher, superathletic, can pretty much do everything on
the field, and that's to hisdetriment for a fantasy football right m.
He's such a good blocker, helpsthat offensive line a lot. Do you
have any insight to what to expectfrom George Kittle U or where do you
haven't projected among your ranks? SoI have him as my fourth tight end
(16:17):
on the board, in the sametier with Kyle Pitts ahead of him,
I have Travis Kelsey, Mark Andrews, and t J. Hockinson. I
have done over a hundred Best Balldrafts so far this year, and I
have selected George Kittle maybe three times, three or four times. I love
(16:38):
the guy. I love Kittle.I love him as a tight end and
as a football player. But toyour point, San Francisco likes to use
him as a blocker, which makessense because he's a terrific blocker, but
also when you look at that offense, they are a run first offense,
especially with Christian McCaffrey. They stilllove Elijah Mitchell when they do throw the
(16:59):
ball. They have Deebo Samuel, they have Brandon Yup, they have George
Kittle, they have Christian McCaffrey. They have a lot of options, which
makes it hard to use a midround pick on George Kittle, knowing that
he will have explosion games, buthe's also going to have some dud So
I like him much more in bestball than I do in like I wouldn't
want him at all in a redraftleague, if I'm being honest, valued
(17:23):
it just where he's value, yeah, because he's still he's still being drafted
around what pick looks like pick sixtyone, sixty two overall, which isn't
bad. That's fifth, sixth round. But I'd much rather have the running
backs than the wide receivers in thatrange, especially with the uncertainty at quarterback.
Right, is it gonna be BlackPurdy? Who's gonna like if he's
ready, it'll be late Augusta.Trey Lance has struggled as a passer so
(17:47):
far. Sam Darnold is reportedly likethe best looking quarterback in camp, and
he hasn't really supported too many fantasyassets, so it's just to me,
if you think about Kyle Shanahan, the way that he plays football and the
way he will play football given theuncertainty at quarterback, I just don't think
there's gonna be enough targets to goaround for Kittle to be a consistent weekly
(18:07):
fantasy football option. Yeah, allright, so you like you mentioned TJ.
Hawkinson you like better than him?How much better do you like TJ?
Hawkinson? Are are you targeting theseguys? Are you targeting anybody about
Kelsey? And like a redraft?Really? Like? Yeah, I've taken
my fair share of Mark Andrews andTJ. Hockinson a little bit um To
(18:30):
answer your first question, how muchI like Hockinson more than Kittle? I
have him two tiers above Kittle. So I have Hockinson in my seventh tier
and Kittle in my ninth tier, which is significant. That's a pretty big
difference, and there's a lot ofreasons for that, right. Minnesota is
a past first offense. There's noAdam feeling this year. Yes, they
(18:51):
yes, they brought in oh mygod, what's his name? Rookie wide
receiver Minnesota anyway, Jordan Addison.Yeah, who should secure his fair share
of targets, but still, youknow, it usually takes rookie wide receivers
a little bit to get going.I think t J. Hockinson's going to
be the de facto second option inthat passing game, behind only Justin Jefferson,
and there should be plenty of targets, plenty of shootouts, plenty of
(19:15):
high scoring games. Hockinson is andcandidly, Hockinson walked into Minnesota last year
and dominated, like from the beginning, he was terrific right away, and
now he's going to have a wholeoffseason under his belt. Plus Justin Jefferson
just listed his top five quarterbacks andKirk Cousin was Kirk Cousins wasn't in there,
So maybe he's just gonna like I'mjust kidding, but but yeah,
(19:37):
man, I would say Hockinson. He usually goes around pick fifty three,
which is early fifth round. Ilike him at that cost, and usually
if I miss on Kelsey, Idon't even think about tight end until later.
But I do like Hockinson in theearly fifth round. Mark Andrews goes
in the mid ish third round aroundpick thirty. That's a bit more difficult
(19:59):
of a pilled swallow because A theother options that are there at running back
and wide receiver, but B Baltimorebeefed up there there receiving room big time.
They brought in Odell Beckham, theybrought in Za Flowers, Rashod Bateman
should return. Now. The goodnews there though, is that they also
brought in Todd Munkin, the offensivecoordinator who he's been run heavy in his
previous collegiate seasons, but he alsohas a documented history in the NFL of
(20:25):
putting together some pat some terrific likepassing offenses. So we're finally going to
see a Lamar Jackson that throws theball more and that's that's not going to
be a bad thing for Mark Andrews, especially in the red zone. So
I'm fine with him in the thirdround. But I'm not like he's not
an auto draft for me based onsome of the other options that are available
there. Yeah, I mean, just guys are going around, Um,
(20:48):
I'm John Blank, Mark Mark Andrews. Yeah we have you know, are
you getting are you taking Deebo Samuelover him? I am DK metcalf uh
toss up, But yeah, Ithink I think that's fair, you know,
Josh Jacobs like those are the thatthat's kind of, you know,
decision that you're going to make.I do have those guys, all three
(21:12):
of those guys in the same tier. I do have Josh Jacobs at the
very very bottom of that tier.I'm I'm pretty out on Josh Jacobs.
I think we're gonna see some prettysignificant regression. But um yeah, I
at least have them in the sametier, so you can kind of mix
up who you're taking who you're not, But I would take I currently have
Mark Andrews ranked ahead of Josh Jacobsbut behind Deebo Samuel. Okay, Uh,
(21:38):
I mean I kind of want tojump in our running backs, but
we're not going to yet. Remindme to talk about Brue Hall because I
think Bruce Hall is going right aroundand in that same space and uh you
know there, I know there's Iwant to call it. We'll get to
it in a minute, because Ithink that's a good disguision. All right,
Uh give me give me your topLet's say you know, seven through
(22:00):
twelve guys and your seventh ranked tightend going all the way down to twelve.
M you know guys that you're goingto get really late I think tight
end specific, okay specific, yeah, yeah, what do you What do
you got? So I would sayone, two, three, four,
five. Things get really interesting rightaround that six tight end space, so
(22:22):
options there. So the top sixI'll just rettle them off, right,
Travis Kelty, Mark Andrews, tJ. Hackinson, George Kittle, Kyle
Pitts, Dallas Coddard. Those arekind of the consensus top six and how
you bring them inside of there, who knows. After that things get really
interesting. You have David and Joku, who is arguably going to be the
(22:44):
second in line for targets in aDeshaun Watson offense after he's finally had a
full offseason with that team. Sothere's gonna be some big explosion games coming
there. You're finally matching talent withquarterback with opportunity. So really like David
and Joku this year, however, drafted ahead of him, and significantly ahead
(23:07):
of him, is Darren Waller, who was traded to the Giants this year.
I am out on Darren Waller forthe most part. This year,
they have like thirteen slot receivers.I don't understand. They have Jamison Crowder,
they have Paris Campbell, they havewan Dale, Robinson, Sterling Shepherd,
like thirteen slot receivers. And thenyou're gonna have Darren Waller running in
(23:30):
the middle. I think he's gonnahave games where he racks up catches.
But that offense, it's not apast first offense to begin with, and
there's it's very crowded in the middleof the field. So I would watch
ever, Yeah, I agree withyou. It seems like there's a lot
of guys are that can do Yeah. I mean there's a lot of guys
that could do it well, butthey're they're all playing on the same team.
They're all playing on the same teamand play in the same area of
(23:51):
the football, right, it's superstrange. Um. And then also drafted
and Darren Waller, by the way, goes twenty six picks ahead of even
and Joku, And I would ratherhave in Joku than Waller straight up this
year. In two rounds later, yeah, two full rounds later. Then
you got Evan Ingram Jacksonville who hada great season last year and he finished
(24:14):
really really strong with Jacksonville. ButCalvin Ridley is coming in who's it's interest.
Calvin Ridley is interesting because he's draftedin the third round even though he
pretty much hasn't played football in twoyears. That's I'm out on Calvin Ridley
as well, But there's no denyingthat that's going to suck targets away from
Evan Ingram because they still have ChristianKirk, they still have Zay Jones.
(24:38):
It's just hard to picture consistency ona weekly basis for Evan Ingram. I'd
much rather treat him as like ahigh end streamer than a like somebody that
I'm gonna have in my flag rightnow, do you believe in the narrative
And I know there's some back andforth on this, but as far as
(24:59):
ti ends being security blankets, especiallyfor younger quarterbacks, do you think that's
going to play into edvonding gram atall? With Trevor Lawrence's kind of development
and the fact now that he gets, you know, a solid wide receiver,
I think he's there, man.I think Trevor Lawrence is already at
that spot where he doesn't need asafety blanket. And if he does,
Christian Kirk runs a ton of routesout of the slot, right, so
he's he's arguably the safety blanket.I think there is value to that for
(25:26):
like a Bryce Young with Hayden Hursts, for example, or C. J.
Stroud with Dalton Schultz who's on thislist as well. But I think
with the Jaguars, I think Ithink Trevor Lawrence is gonna let it rip
this year. He's got too manyweapons, not too Yeah, yeah,
okay. I want to hear youpronounce this name. That the guy the
tight end from ten you know exactly, yeah, from with the Titans.
(25:52):
Where does he come from? AndI mean, it's weird, and I
don't know if it like his nameis catching my eye or if he really
is talked about enough or I meantoo much, because um I so I
actually do just throw in He's he'snothing right. I mean, I just
keep seeing his name everywhere. Idon't know how to pronounce it. But
I've always said, first of all, he has shortened it. It's just
(26:17):
chig now c hig so that's great, but I've always said chigosi him.
There's no way that's right. There'sno way that's right. But i'mount so
I can lean on like accent andall that stuff. Um so I have
him. Let me just pull thisback up. So chig let's just call
him Chig. I have him.I basically have it. If you looked
(26:41):
at my rankings dashboard, it's it'spretty easily color coded. Um to tell
you, Okay, green means I'min. Red means I'm out. For
the most part, I would pickhim about seventeen picks after he's currently picked.
So right now he's drafted at aboutone twenty seven, which is what
like eleven and thrown um. Tome, there's just other options at the
(27:04):
tight end spot that are better thanChig. Now, he finished last year
great, and there's gonna be someopportunity in Tennessee outside like they have Treylon
Burkes and then nothing. But wealso know that they're going to ride Derrick
Henry as much as they can forone more season, and they haven't really
been producing fantasy football weapons over thelast several years, Like even AJ Brown
(27:26):
was kind of up and down withthe Titans before he went to the Eagles.
So to me, i'd rather haveI have Chig in the same tier
with Gerald Everett, Tyler Higbee,Herb Smith. But there's a couple guys
that are drafted after Chig, likeEverett, Higbee Smith that I would rather
have than Chig. And that thatincludes Cole Comet, Dalton Kincaid, Greg
(27:47):
Dulchich, Dalton Schultz. All ofthose guys are drafted after a con quo
and I would rather I'd rather haveall of those guys over Chig. I
wouldn't. I wouldn't be drafting Chigin a regular fantasy football league. He's
a waiver wire streamer. Okay coolum. He tallied eight catches for one
hundred and twelve yards and two touchdownsin a game at Michigan State, marking
(28:11):
the most receiving yards in a gameby Maryland tight end since Vernon Davis did
it. Baby, I love it, So there you go. He actually
is. It looks like both ofhis parents immigrated from Nigeria. Yeah.
Um, his father passed away andhe became like the man of the house
and h Yeah. He set outall the twenty twenty season due to COVID
(28:33):
and he has a cat named Sage. All right, Sage didn't see now,
I gotta bump him up the rankingsa little bit. See. And
the other thing too, is thatlast year he produced as a rookie,
which is like, I know,I just sat here and said don't draft
him. But if you have himin dynasty leagues, for example, that's
that's a tight end I would feelgood about having. He's never gonna be
this like elite tight end one,but he's uh, he's definitely a dynasty
(28:57):
asset to hang out too, ifhe got him. Yeah. I always
check and see if players have catsor dogs. If they have dogs,
they generally don't do well and awaygames because they have to worry about their
dogs being fed. And cats youcould just leave them, you know,
with their litter bocks and you don'thave to worry about it. Hashtag analysis.
I'm gonna run a study on thisnow, because now now you got
me wondering. I wouldn't bother Mikey. I just told you that's true.
(29:19):
That's true. It's a fact.It's a fact. There's no reason to
look it up. Dude. Whydidn't you tell me this before I publish
my rankings. Now I gotta goback through everything unbelievable. Like you know,
Evan Ingram, he has a cat. Good pick, don't kincaide he
has a dog. Move him down, man, That's that's how I ranked
players. I got work to do, all right, um Man, I
(29:44):
do not want to keep talking abouttight ends. I don't care. I
really don't care. You guys know, man, It's just it. It's
hard to talk about things that Idon't care about. And I'm sorry,
Mikey, I don't Besides, youknow, a couple guys. Look,
I'm not gonna fall for Kyle Pitsever. Again. I don't care where
you rank him. I'll never drafthim, even if next year we'll see,
(30:06):
you know, even if he's youknow, saying the sixth round he
gets picked in the sixth round,I'd rather take a flyer on like another
running back. Hold on, letme let me look and see where where
he's going compared what are the runningbacks taking around Kyle? And I don't
even care about them? How dohow do I do this? What are
(30:27):
you doing? Definitely? So Igo to either sleeper or underdog and I
look at their ADP. So ifyou like, And that's the thing.
It depends if you're talking best ballor redraft. I'm assuming we're talking redraft
here. Yeah, yeah, redraft. Let me pull up? Where are
you at Kyle Pitts? Scroll down? All right? Kyle Pitts usually goes
(30:49):
areas around pick fifty nine. Okay, so that's what late fifth round um
options. Let's just say five pickedwithin about six spots in front and behind
Kyle Pitts. You got Miles Sanders, Drake London his teammate. So who
do you think is going to bethe guy there? Christian Watson, Jerry
(31:12):
Judy, Chris Godwin, Trevor Lawrence, and then behind Kyle Pitts. Shortly
behind Kyle pitts is DeAndre Swift,Dalvin Cook, Dallas Goddard, Cam Akers,
Michael Pittman, James Connor, andDarren Waller. Among Dalvin Cook versus
Kyle Pitts. That's a tough thatwould be a hard, hard decision to
(31:33):
make if we're talking. So here'smy philosophy with tight ends in general.
If we're talking just your basic fantasyfootball league, not like a tight end
premium, not this like twenty personlike just basic you know, twelve teams,
fourteen fifteen roster spots. I genuinelythink it's Travis Kelsey or nothing like.
(31:55):
You get Travis Kelsey, maybe MarkAndrews, and maybe t J Hockinson.
But if you don't get one ofthose three, this is too extreme.
But a lot of times, Iliterally do not draft a tight end.
I just pick one up before weekone. Yeah. Yeah, I
don't recommend that. It's very extreme, but that's my philosophy when it comes
to tight end is if I don'tget one of those top three, I'm
(32:16):
like, I'm not I'm going runningback and wide receiver. It's like picking
a kicker. I mean, it'sas random as picking the kicker. I
feel like it's useless, man.And you know, so you know,
my weekly thing I do as thoseheat maps, which means I analy I
analyze the matchup for every single playerin every single game every single week,
and that for me makes it easyfor me to be like, Aha,
(32:36):
here's my tight end this week. You know I'm gonna like, this is
the tight end I'm gonna pick upbecause he's got a great matchup. And
I use it like I do thatin every league every year if I don't
get one of those top three tightends. So I'm with you on like,
there's no need to like, peopleshouldn't stress too much on tight end
because you're if you don't get oneof those top three, you're gonna be
hanging out on the waiver wire anyway. I can almost guarantee it. So
(32:58):
ye yea. I'm mikey Um,you know, and I'm probably a bad
podcast host because I know a lotof people, you know whatever, plug
stuff in the beginning. But youtalk about your heat maps. You kind
of went through your rankings here onthe quarterbacks and tight ends, and we
are going to get into the runningbacks and wide receivers next episode. But
mikey Um, first basement, broodff dot com is where you're gonna get
(33:19):
all this stuff. You subscribe EESFtwenty twenty three to get ten percent off
all his stuff. I mean it'sit is truly and you put in a
lot of work in it and it'svery well thought out. Um, Mike,
give me some give me some moreselling points here. Yeah, man,
I The big thing with subscribing withBBF is there's there's basically three sides
to it, right, and Iboil it down to dominating your draft,
(33:44):
dominating during the season, and thenall of that is tied up in a
bow of having a what'd you say? Nothing good? I thought you I
thought you had like a porn onhere too. Oh yeah, that's a
whole different company, that's a differentLLC a bb okay, all right,
basement browed porn anyway, especially withthe mustache that I got going on here.
(34:07):
Sorry, now you're good man.So there's there's basically three sides,
right, dominating the draft, dominatingin season, and we also have a
discord community where you know, there'sthree hundred plus fantasy football brains hanging out,
becoming friends, helping each other withfantasy football dilemmas. But basically it
comes down to dominating the draft, and the way that a lot of my
(34:28):
subscribers do that is with the Draftcheat sheet, which is what you and
I have been kind of talking throughhere today. So it's going to talk
about obviously my rankings and my tears, sure everybody does that, but it
also is going to give you athorough, like super deep twenty twenty three
preview on literally every single fantasy footballplayer in Fantasy football. Two hundred and
(34:49):
fifty plus players have their own preview, each of which, by the way,
has like five hundred to a thousandwords, so there's a lot of
like entertaining reading in there. Butit's an interactive dashboard. People can you
know, add in or remove playersas they're ripped off the board, and
it's all about giving you something duringyour draft that candidly a lot of people
(35:12):
don't even know exists. Yet alot of your friends, a lot of
your league mates are probably using alot of the same resources, and this
is something they've never even seen, they've never heard of. It's truly genuinely
a secret weapon if you will,ye, and then let's let's be honest.
You know, stuff like say Fantasypros, you can go on their
consensus and you can, you know, sort through stuff, but it's it's
(35:34):
kind of an echo chamber where assoon as that consensus is established and you
know, I rank on the expertconsus as well, but as soon as
it's established, yeah, people onlymove players a little up and a little
down. Look, I don't knowif I should be saying this, but
it's a competition to get accurate foraccuracy, and people don't want to move
players too far because if you know, if everybody stays within, you're only
(35:55):
moving players up and down a coupleof spots. You're playing it safe and
then you can win this accurate yousee competition, So it doesn't it doesn't
um foster you know, free thinking, you know you're not gonna take Jamar
Gibbs and move them way up orway down. Um, you're gonna keep
them right about there. If youlike them, you'll bump them up one
spot. And so this consensus islike, um, a big circle jerk.
(36:15):
Um so and and you know, and Mikey, Mikey is a solo
solo jerk. You know. Yeah, yeah, sorry, I've never been
able to get I've never been ableto get help with that. It's always
just me. But circle jerks aren'tfun, man, They're not fun.
Now tell me about your most I'mjust kidding. Yeah. Anyways, Yeah,
so basement brood ff dot com.Uh, look, I'm looking at
(36:38):
it right now. I'm telling youguys, it's it's legit. Um,
give it a try. Uh doyou have some kind of guarantee or something?
I shouldn't say that. Do youhave like some kind of like money
back type thing or can you cancelthat time? I've I've done it before.
I just I just was exchanging messageswith somebody right now. That's kind
of on the fence and I'm like, dude, give it a try.
It's less than one beer per month, Like, it's not this like one
(37:00):
hundred fifty dollars subscription. It's fiftynine dollars for the year. You get
everything we talked about, the draftstuff. You also get this weekly tool
I create called the heat Map,which I've already talked about it. It's
a detailed analysis for every single playerin every game. But yeah, man,
it's it's I've definitely offered the likeI told this guy earlier, like,
give it a try. It's lessthan a beer per month. If
(37:21):
you don't like it at the endof the season, I'll refund. I'll
refund you no questions ask And Istand by that. It's it's the sort
of thing where it's you know,a lot of people ask what makes you
a little bit different, right, because to your point, you can just
go to Fantasy pros and you can'tget rankings, And I totally agree rankings
have their place, but they alsodon't tell the full story. And what
makes me different is the depth ofthe analysis that I go to with literally
(37:44):
every single player, where I findit hard to believe that anybody who uses
it will contact me at the endof the year and say that it didn't
help them, because I don't seehow that's possible. So yeah, I'm
happy to guarantee it if you will. I'm looking at like Miles Sanders some
of the note the thing is liketwo pages long. It's you're talking about
you know where you finished in thepast, you know, Uh yeah,
(38:07):
I mean you know some news abouthim. I mean it goes on and
on and on and on. Isee you mentioned like Brandon Oliver down here.
Yeah. Man, it's so itgoes, it goes yea, he
gets into it, and I think, go ahead. Sorry, no,
I was gonna say any with anythinglike this, not just yours, Mikey,
but really any fantasy football tool thatyou guys use, you're only gonna
get what you're gonna get. Thehelp. What is this saying you're only
(38:29):
gonna get yeah? Or no,no, no, no, Like,
uh, you're only gonna get whatyou put into it, right, and
so like, you know, ifif you just glance at him and then
don't draft with him, obviously youknow you're not gonna do as well.
But if you really get into itand really study it, you know you're
gonna get a little much more outof it. And uh, you know
this site has it all to beable to do that, So good job.
(38:50):
Manum, you do a good job. I have you guys a thank
for that though, because I startedall of this stuff with each leape fantasy
man back doing thes and the helicoptersegment and all that stuff, and like
there's we played that helicopter thing onetime. I think it was great and
uh, but I just don't haveto follow through to keep doing it.
(39:10):
Um, but if you guys missedit, it was, um Mikey was
giving news over like a helicopter, sound like he was on a like a
news chopper. It was great. It was awesome. I tried to do
the whole like news anchor voice.Yeah, yeah, no, it was
great. Yea, yeah I rememberit. Yeah, yeah, I know
it was great. We did anoffice one. Did you know you didn't
do the office one? Did you? Did you do that one? No?
(39:30):
I don't think I think that waswho oh ide, that was rob.
We like put it like background likeoffice like copying machine noises and stuff
in the background, and he wasacting like he was in the office.
Um. But anyways, Um,all right, guys, e sleep f
