(00:21):
ball enthusiasts. I know you planningto be joining my son, Eat Sleep
Fantasy Jack, Eat Sleep Fantasie,Eat Sleep FANTASYE. Hello everybody, and
welcome to another episode of the EatSleep Fantasy Football Podcast. My name is
(00:42):
Dale, Thanks for joining me.Today is another special episode. Look.
Last week Clayton was he was sick, and now I am here again,
all alone, just waiting. Ifeel like, you know, the sad
guy who wife and kids left him, and he's sitting at home just waiting
for them, staring at the door, waiting for them to come back.
(01:03):
And now I don't know if Clane'sever gonna come back. I'm just waiting
and waiting and waiting for him,so we'll see. Anyways, I have
a fun that I'm sorry that wasa not very upbeat beginning to the podcast.
I'm sorry if I they made anybodysat there. U. We're gonna
have a good podcast though, becauseI'm going to do a mock draft on
(01:23):
fan tracks. I've already actually doneit, so I'm gonna kind of repeat,
not repeat. I'm gonna recap mymock draft. I'm drafting from the
twelfth spot, twelve team league,so that's gonna be pretty fun. I
think I've done. I'm gonna saynine rounds, so it's gonna be pretty
(01:44):
fun. I picked a quarterback probablyearlier than I have in the past in
a long long time, and Ithink I like how this shaped up,
so we'll get to that. Andbesides that, I mean, you guys
have me for the next how manyever minutes, so get used to this
annoying voice. I apologize in advance. I say I'm a lot for the
(02:05):
first time. If you guys arelistening for the first time, usually it's
mean somebody else or somebody else's youknow, to other people usually, but
today you're just gonna get me.So if this is your first time listening,
you could just turn this off andgo to the next episode where somebody
else is on. Because if you'relistening to me for the first time,
ramble on by myself. You gotsomething going, it's not gonna be fun
for you anyways. Yeah, let'sget it right. Oh, you know
(02:30):
what I want to say really quick? Tell my listeners because I know a
lot of you guys are on Facebook, A lot of people of like friend
we questioned me over the years. You know, we're on social media all
over the place. If something everhappens to me again, I know this
is gonna get like sad again.Maybe not, I don't know. You
guys don't care about me. Butif something ever happens to me and I
die, the first question that alot of people are gonna ask is,
(02:53):
oh, man, he died. What happened? I just want everybody to
start a rumor that I died fromgetting trapped in quicksand. I think that's
the best explanation because it won't stopthere. People are gonna say, oh
my god, what happened? Andthen one of you guys are going to
reply, he died in quicksand andthen that's gonna trigger more and more questions,
(03:13):
you know, like where was itquicksand why did he step in the
quicksand what was he doing in Quicksand? So I think that is that I
think for me, if you guyswant to grant my wish when I die,
just start the it doesn't matter how, I don't care, how gruesome,
Like I don't care really what happenedto me in real life, even
it was really I mean, it'sgonna be really bad if I die early
(03:34):
anyways, But I think it wouldbe great if you guys could start the
rumor that I died in Quicksand Ididn't tell my wife this, so she
might be a little annoyed that allof our listeners and all my friends are
saying that I died in quicksand that'sreally going to confuse my family. But
what would be amazing is if wecan keep it going and then, you
know, when my daughters grow upto adult age, they're gonna start believing
(03:58):
in conspiracy theories about how I reallydied because they're gonna look online. Sometimes
it's gonna say, you know,I died whatever a heart attack, and
then some people are gonna say Idied in quicksand they're gonna start, you
know, asking their mom questions aboutwhat really happened. And I think it'll
be a fun, little, funlittle experiment for my family when they get
(04:18):
older and really followed my friends,Like, really, it's the friends on
Facebook that maybe you knew in highschool. They don't really care about you.
You haven't talked to them since highschool anyways. And then yeah,
and so they're gonna pretend that theycare for a couple of minutes. They
will never find anybody else out I'veever died in a quicksand accident. So
(04:39):
you guys can make up anything afterthe quicksand accident. You could say,
you know whatever, I thought itwas just regular saying, and I stepped
in it and got caught. Youcould say I was maybe trying to save
a dog from the quicksand I jumpedin me and the dog died. That
would be a good story. Andeither way, it's gonna be a good
story. So I'd appreciate you guysif you could spread those rumors that I
died in quicksand. Okay, Ijust want to go look this time of
(05:02):
year where our downloads are picking up, our impressions are picking up, So
I appreciate everybody listening and downloading thepodcast. I feel like the closer we
are to the season, the morelisteners we get, and the more crazy
my ideas of my ramblings are gonnaget so stick with me. It's only
(05:23):
July seventeenth. By August it's goingto be crazy, crazy busy for everybody,
especially drafting. So anyways, let'sget right into the draft. How
about that I am picking from thetwelfth spot. I'll kind of talk to
you about some of the highlights thatI see in that round. I'll tell
you who I picked, and theni'll tell you who goes after me,
and you guys can kind of decidehow my team looks. So I'm picking
(05:47):
from the twelfth. Early on,there was just a crazy run at running
backs, so much so that JamarChase was drafted eighth. We're seeing him
wat you know, this is justa regular a PPR PPR draft here.
Jamar Chase went eighth overall after DerrickHenry, Jonathan Taylor, Austin Ekeler,
Christian McCaffrey, so Jordan Justin Jefferson, then Jamar Chase at one oh eight,
(06:11):
and then stay calm, say QuonBarkley. So by the time the
twelfth pick came around, there wasabsolutely zero running backs I wanted, and
there was a couple of wide receiversthat quote unquote, you know my first,
second, third, my first orsecond tier. I would say the
first guy I got at twelve atone twelve. When I say one twelve,
you guys know that, I meanfirst round, twelfth pick at one
(06:33):
twelve was Tyreek Hill, and thenI and the wrap around here I got
at two one, I got AJ. Brown, So I started that
started my team off with Tyreek Hill. A J. Brown felt good about
that. I am very nervous abouthow my running backs are gonna end up
because I have a long way.Would I have another twenty whatever, twenty
(06:55):
three picks until my next whatever thatmath is twenty three picks to my next
pick. I know a lot ofrunning backs are going to be taken.
So after I got Tyreek Hill andDJ Brown, I went, actually after
they went, it was Stefan digCeedee Lamb, Josh Jacobs, NA J
Harris, Tony Pollard, Travis Etien, Bruce Hall. All those guys are
going in the second round pick backup. Still a ton of running backs,
(07:18):
and I'm getting more and more nervousbecause Kenneth Walker, I thought maybe
falling to me in the end ofthe third round. He did not.
JK Dobbins. Joe Mixon was taken. Jamar Gibbs was taken right before me
on the eleventh, so I havethree twelve right now. I was looking
at guys. I know I neededa running back right because I went wide
(07:40):
receiver wide receiver. I don't geta running back now is going to be
really thin later, so I kindof wanted to balance it out. Damian
Pierce, Alexander Mattinson, Aaron Jones, Miles Sanders. Those are the running
backs that were available. Jalen Waddlewas there. He was kind of staring
at me, but I already hadTyreek Hills. I don't want to double
(08:00):
down on that. I don't lovethe Dolphins that much. I don't think
anybody should. Te Higgins was takenright after this, so I got Aaron
Jones and Alexander Mattison at my threetwelve and four one. Aaron Jones,
I still think he's a baller.I know this offense might not roll the
way it has in the past, but I still think Aaron Jones has opportunity
(08:24):
to score, especially in PPR.He's He's shown it year after year.
We'll see how Jordan Love feeds himand how this offense is gonna run.
But I like Aaron Jones still,it's my top pick. No, I'm
taking him the end of the thirdround. But you know, beggars can't
be choosers here. So I gotAaron Jones and Alexander Mattison. The Vikings
(08:46):
are an offense that's going to roll. Again. When I'm looking at running
backs, I'm looking at guys.I'm looking at teams that have an offense
that can score, and the Vikingscan score. They're gonna put him in
position to run the ball in theend zone, and so that's what I'm
gonna do. I picked Alexander Mattinsonover Damian Pierce because of that. You
know, Damian Pierce has his rookierookie quarterback there. We don't know how
(09:09):
that offense is gonna go. DamePierce. I do like his talent,
but I think Mattison Madison is goingto um is going to do much better
in this offense. And really there'snot a lot there's not a lot of
talent behind him. So he's lookinggood. Now I have to wait all
the way again another twenty three picks. This twelfth spot is brutal because you're
(09:30):
watching everybody get picked before you cango. Just to recap, I got
Tyreek Hill, A J. Brown, Aaron Jones, Alexander Mattison. So
pretty balance, two running backs, well, very balanced, two running backs,
two wide receivers. It's gonna befun, fun time here to decide
what I'm gonna do next. SoI am waiting guys like Jerry Judy,
(09:50):
DK Metcalfe, Dalvin Cook. I'llget picked in the fourth round, going
to the fifth round, Calvin Ridley, Tyler law Kit, DeAndre Hopkins.
His ADP is gonna rise for surenow that he's signed with with the Titans.
If you guys didn't know that DeAndreHopkins is a Titan. DeAndre Swift,
(10:13):
the new Philadelphia Eagle, was takenin the middle of the fifth round.
I like that value. Joe Burrowwas taken right before my pick.
And at five twelve, I'm lookingagain. I know my running backs are
not very strong, definitely not asstrong as my wide receivers. I took
a stab on David Montgomery. Look, I know, yeah, he's he's
(10:35):
on the lines now. I thinkhe can have a strong, a strong
showing in Detroit. And then atsix one, a lot of really good
quarterbacks have been taken so far.Joe Burrow, you know the normal guys,
(10:56):
Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes. I'mcan at six one and thinking Lamar
Jackson hasn't been picked in the sixthround. If I don't get Lamar Jackson
here, I'm guessing by the timethe end of the seventh round comes around,
you know, I'm not gonna getthe guys that I want. And
really, you know, I'm lookingat Lamar Jackson, Kyle Pitts, Terry
(11:22):
McLaurin, Chris Godwin. So what'sgonna make my team's strongest. I went
with Lamar Jackson at six one.I think that's a pretty good value for
him in the sixth round. Again, I'm not gonna be able to get
anybody close to that on my nextpick because we have a long ways to
go. So in the five twelve, six one turn, I got David
(11:43):
Montgomery, then Lamar Jackson. Whatdo you guys think about that? This
is who where it kind of getsHarry. There's a lot of different opinions
here because Terry McLaurin, Kyle Pitts, even Michael Pittman, James Cook was
still there. So I went LamarJackson. So I'm waiting and waiting and
(12:03):
waiting. Darren Waller fell to theend of the sixth round. A J.
Dillon in the beginning of the seventh, Trevor Lawrence in the middle of
the seventh, going all the waydown to seven twelve, I'm looking at
some wide receivers here because I kindof overcorrected with David Montgomery. Let's see,
(12:28):
Yeah, because I kind of overcorrectedwith David Montgomery a little bit for
that extra running back spot at seventwelve. I don't know what you guys
think about this. I know whoknows how the quarterback situation is in Tampa
Bay, But regardless of quarterback,Mike Evans has always been a beast.
I think at the end of theseventh round, Mike Evans I felt was
(12:52):
a very good value. I alreadyhave Tyreek Hill and A. J.
Brown, who I think are verysolid. Mike Evans being picked after David
Montgomery. Just looking at my startinglineup, I'd probably put Mike Evans in
my flex over David Montgomery to startthe season. Maybe, what do you
guys think? So I got MikeEvans at seven twelve, I'm curious to
know what you guys think about that. Instead, if I didn't get Mike
(13:15):
Evans, Gabe Davis, Deonta Johnson, Brandon Ayuk were still there, Courtland
Sutton, so they're all kind ofin the same tier. I think Mike
Evans should be ranked above those guys, and that's why I chose them.
And at eight one I got CleilHerbert Chicago Beart. Again, there wasn't
a ton of value at why atrunning backs? The next running backs was
(13:37):
like samant Peran, Let's see whoelse could I got at running back?
Gibson, Eli, Mitchell, DamienHarris. So I kind of felt like
if I wanted to get a runningback here, now was a time.
Especially again, I have to waitanother twenty three picks. So if I
(13:58):
didn't get him here, those guysthat I, you know, mentioned,
they're all going to be gone forsure. So I went ahead and got
little Herbert at my eight oh one, waiting waiting, waiting at nine twelve.
I'm gonna do to do the nexttwo picks. So right before me,
(14:20):
Michael Thomas got picked at nine onine. Brandon Cooks was at nine
eight, Jamal Jamison Williams. Ithink is a good value at ninety eleven
Jamison Williams. So we're looking atnine to twelve now the end of the
ninth round. Really, I'm pickingfor value. I'm not worried about balance.
(14:43):
We have Rashad Penny there, let'ssee Quentin Johnson are the Chargers,
Elijah Moore now a Brown? Whatdo you guys think there's also tight ends
available? But just I think I'mgonna wait the Juku Dalton Schultz. M.
(15:05):
Yeah, they're just all I'm gonnawait for sure, not even worth
going through all those roster spots. So I'm looking at guys like Quentin Johnson
for the Chargers, Elijah Moore forthe Browns, or Rashad Penny now an
Eagle. M. What about TylerAlgier? Is that how you say his
(15:30):
name? I'm not sure Tyler AlgierAtlanta Falcon. I know they got b
John Robinson, who knows right likewe've seen crazier stuff. They drafted running
back and then all of a suddenAlgiers good game, you know, could
be awesome. It's a it's agood handcuff. I guess at this point
at the ninth the end of theninth round, I'm gonna go Algier.
(15:52):
I know Rashada Penny is ranked muchhigher. Yeah, it kind of because
I kind of really really really likeDeAndre Swift. I don't want to draft
I think if I draft re ShotPenny it'll make DeAndre Swift worse. So
I'm not gonna do it. Butreally, I guess analytics say my rankings
(16:15):
and most ranking savers shot Penny.I'm gonna go Tyler that year instead.
You guys can yell at me later. In my last pick, I'm gonna
do the tenth round. Last pick, let's go wide receiver. I'm gonna
do Quentnin Johnson. Quinn Johnson's theChargers. Not only because I have him
ranked I think he will do justfine, but I really like his head
(16:37):
shot here. He has an interestinghead shot. It's not the normal stuff.
So I'm gonna draft him there there. So I'm gonna tell you really
quick what my roster looks like.My quarterback Lamar Jackson. My two running
backs are Aaron Jones and Alexander Mattinson, Tyreek Hill a J. Brown.
For my flex, I either haveDavid Montgomery or Mike Evans on my bench.
(17:00):
I have Herbert Algier and Quentin Johnson. I think it's pretty decent for
the twelfth overall. If you guysare drafting around, then I would love
to hear your thoughts on what youknow, what you would have done differently.
I always like to hear their people. Look, I'm purely based basing
all my drafting on my rankings,so I expect everybody's team to be a
(17:22):
little different. I'm not saying thisis exactly how it should be, but
just to my rankings, this ishow I feel like. It's pretty strong.
Let me know, do you guyshate Tyreek Kill or Asia Brown?
Or did I really fuck up withAaron Jones and Alexander Manson. I don't
know. Talk to me. DidI draft Lamar Jackson too late or two
too early? I mean, I'mreally curious to what's going on here.
(17:47):
Oh aam Adam Finelan actually was draftedtowards the end of the eleventh round.
Two. That's kind of interesting tonote. I don't know. And so
anyways, I have a really funtime here, guys. I appreciate you
listening. Um Again, something happens, don't forget. I died in a
quicksand accident of some sorts. Ifyou guys ever see on Facebook before you
