رغم إعلان الأزهر أن الإجراء القانوني "إنذار بيت الطاعة" لا يتوافق مع الشريعة الإسلامية، إلّا أنّه لا يزال يُستخدم في مصر منذ أكثر من قرن لإجبار النساء على التنازل عن حقوقهن المادية أو العودة إلى منازل غير آمنة.
