In Podcast Episode 322, “Quicker to Point Fingers Than Bow Knees,” Kim discusses the importance of prayer and self-reflection amid challenging circumstances. Like King Joram in our story today, we struggle with the temptation to blame others and/or God when trouble comes our way. And, yes, sometimes the choices of others do lead to difficult circumstances for many. However, no matter the challenge and no matter the source(s), we can still go to the Lord and be drawn closer to Him in the process. Waste no opportunity to seek Him.

30 When the king heard this, he tore his clothes in despair. And as the king walked along the wall, the people could see that he was wearing burlap under his robe next to his skin. 31 “May God strike me and even kill me if I don’t separate Elisha’s head from his shoulders this very day,” the king vowed.
