After a long, grueling season, Paris Saint-Germain players are finally on holiday. However, the transfer market never rests, and there’s plenty of outgoing and incoming news to discuss.
Joining me on the latest Ensemble PSG Podcast is PSG fan James Carter (@its_jcj). We talk about Lucas Beraldo’s future, why PSG hasn’t signed a center-back yet, the FIFA Club World Cup final, and much more.
Up first, it’s the news that Lucas Beraldo wants out of the club as he seeks more playing time elsewhere. There’s been some contradicting reporting, but it makes sense that the 21-year-old would want to move on if he doesn’t feel the club is ready to start him over Marquinhos.
Sticking with center-back news, we turn our attention to AFC Bournemouth’s Illya Zabarnyi. The reporting suggests that Zabarnyi wants to join PSG, but the two clubs are approximately €10 million apart in their transfer fee demands. We discuss why PSG has yet to increase their bid and whether they should secure the deal before other teams get involved.
We also talk about the loss to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final, and the tournament as a whole, as James attended the match against Atletico Madrid at The Rose Bowl. Should PSG be concerned about their performance in the final, or was the win over Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid in the semi-final what they really came for?
We conclude by discussing Hugo Ekitike and Xavi Simons, two former PSG players who are reportedly heading to the Premier League, and what our expectations are for PSG with the 2025-26 season less than a month away.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
