MONITORING THE PHILIPPINE CORAL REEFS
The Philippines has the second largest coral reef area in the world, and also one of the most diverse ones. However, climate change and human activities have caused our coral reefs to get damaged.
The Philippine Coral Bleaching Watch encourages Filipinos to patrol our coral reefs, takes photos, and report even on just a local scale! Interested in how you can contribute?
Join us as our experience partners, Mags, Yna, and Darryl, shares with us the current conditions of our coral reefs are in the Philippines and ways that we Filipinos can contribute in preserving our coral reefs.
Mags, Yna and Darryl all come from the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (UP MSI), as they formed the Philippine Coral Bleaching Watch. It is an online platform that aims to identify and monitor reefs impacted by coral bleaching events in the Philippines.
