Speaker 1 (00:00):
Greetings everyone. It is October tenth, about one point thirty
in the afternoon. I hope everyone is doing well. This
is our twice a week prospect podcasts during the off
season where we are doing these team by team systems.
We've already done the Cubs and the Reds, and today

(00:21):
we are doing one of the best, if not the best,
minor league system in baseball, and that is the Milwaukee Brewers.
I mean, I don't have a numerical way or analytical
way yet to with a scoring system to determine who's
the best, who has the best system. I don't even
know if that should be a thing. I mean, who

(00:42):
really cares. Particularly from a fantasy baseball standpoint, you don't
care where you get your where you get your players from.
But for my money, the Brewers it's hard to beat.
I mean you can. I mean you can throw up
the Pittsburgh Pirates, which we're going to do Tuesday of
next week right up there. I mean, you got Jesus

(01:04):
Moday and kind of Griffin. I mean they're so close, right,
I mean, my Day's got more pop, Griffin's got a
little bit more speed and power. I think my Day's
going to be the better hitter. I think he's going
to be actually the much better hitter. I know Griffin
hasn't shown any signs of weakness at all, but the

(01:25):
swing is as much better with my day. But when
you look at Baba versus Luis Pinia, I think everybody
who's listened to me ramble on for the last two
years knows. I know, I love Luis Pina, and he
showed some signs of faltering, which was really strange. When
he got promoted to the high age, just did not hit,
which really surprised me, which just goes to show you.

(01:49):
I mean, guys run into a developmental process and they
run into trouble, so hopefully you can get through that.
But I think you got to take Baba over Louis Penia.
I know I have them ranked higher, but I think it's,
you know, given that we've seen some success already with
Bubba in the major leagues, it's that it's I think
you have to take him there, But you go on

(02:10):
down with Jefferson, Quaro and just the names that the
Milwaukee Brewers have and the well roundedness of their system.
It's positional players. The arms seem to come out of nowhere.
I mean you look a little lower to get messages
kind of in that back half of the of the system.
He's got potential. So there's there's a lot to like

(02:32):
here with the Milwaukee Brewers system. So as I did
with the Reds, I'm going to do the top ten
for everyone and then kind of do a break there
and then continue on for a Patreon members I encourage
to become a Patreon member pat r o n dot
com Forward slash Prospect three sixty one. You get all

(02:55):
of the all it's going to be over six hundred
write ups when it's all said and of everyone that
I'm putting out. You get Tim on the Discord site,
which he's out there all the time because Tim, that's
what Tim likes to do. Tim loves to talk. He's
a very social dude, so's he loves the Discord just says,
I got it. I'm out there. I'll talking to people,

(03:17):
which is great because I just don't have time to
spend a lot of time out there. So I'm doing
all the writing. Tim's doing all the Discord stuff. You
get a chance to support us for all the years
that hopefully we've brought you entertaining and helpful fantasy baseball.
So please join us out there. You're going to get
our draft targets. You're going to get lots of extra
coverage with all the tame's rankings, et cetera. So's there's

(03:40):
a lot to like out there again patreon dot com
Forward slash Prospect three sixty one. Okay, we see the
fantasy targets and the everyday upside targets that my AI
assistant has put out. This somewhat chalked. He likes Andrew
Fisher a little bit more than I like him. I
think that's fine. A little bit more down on Robert Gasser.

(04:02):
I mean he's got him as an everyday target, which
I think is fair. So so there, but I mean
I think for the most part, the AA assistant kind
of agrees with my ranking. Remember the A assistant is
using no emotion. I'm an emotional being, like we all are.
So I've sometimes get swayed by recency bias and just

(04:27):
the fact that I like guys and you know, you know,
I always like the smallest middle infielder, thank you, Luis Penia.
So it's he's my kryptonite, if you will, because I
just love those types of players. But let's get down
to it. I mean, Jose Mata is the number one player,
and look what kind of Griffin did last season was remarkable.

(04:49):
Hayes's Mata was not far behind statistically, he did not
have as good of a seasons as kind of Griffin,
but he's younger. Came straight out of the DSL into
Low waying, so most of the season in Low Way.
Then as Louis Penia kind of slid back a little bit, Hazy,
Hayesus Mada almost got better when he got to Hya

(05:12):
in Double A. And it could be that it's just
all about bat speed, and once pitcher started to throw
more strikes, Hayzeus made was able to turn on pitches
better than Louis Penie was. I think that's going to
be his adjustment. And Louis Pena is a great hitter.
But you know, it's fascinating you look at the data,

(05:33):
and the data was all pointing at Hayes's Mada being
a great hitter. But as he started to face better pitching,
he really really elevated his game, which really shows you
that that approach the bat speed is all going to
work once he gets up to the major leagues and
look for the longest time I had twenty twenty seven
to twenty eight is when we'd see him. But I mean,

(05:56):
call me crazy, I think we might see him next
season now on the same token, he could be on
that Jackson Curio train. And if you recall, Jacksonuria did
the exact same thing as hayesus my Day did coming
out of the DSL. He flew through three levels and
then they kept him in Double A and Triple A
a long time and he recalled coming in to last.

(06:19):
The twenty twenty four season is when they signed him
to that eighty eight million dollar deal, whatever it was.
I'm wondering going into the twenty twenty seven season, maybe
they do the same thing with hayesus my Day as
they signed him to one of those long term contracts,
much like they did with Jackson Cherio, and that's when
we see him back again. Were the very good chance

(06:41):
at least, although all the inklings are out there that
there's going to be a work stoppage between the twenty
six and twenty seven season. I hope not, but that's
everything is pointing to that possibility. If that's the case,
that might kind of delay things with hayesus my day
and actually might give him. The leaks are still going
to be playing, so that might give him Actually that's

(07:03):
I don't know if that's true, right because the Collective
Bargain agreement now covers the minor league players, so I
don't know. I don't know if that's I don't know
if that's if they are going to play or not.
I got to check into that. But anyway, assuming they do,
I think that that gives him even more credence that
he could definitely be up in twenty twenty seven. But

(07:23):
I would not put it past him to see him
in twenty twenty six. We're talking big power, thirty home
run pop. We're talking a guy that's going to hit.
There's going to be speed early in his career. Does
he stay at shortstop? I've got to move into third base,
but you know, he could stay at shortstop. I saw
him play really early this season. He looked fine there,

(07:46):
But I I mean, with his size, I think he's
he would work best on a corner or somewhere in
the afflet. He could actually even play center field as well.
I think he's athletic enough to do that. But he's
going to be He's going to be. He and Jackson
Surry are going to be leading that team for a
long time. It's two really really good players. Lewis Penia shortstop,

(08:08):
third base. He's switching between those positions and I think
he's probably going to go eventually to second base. That's
ultimately where I think he's going to play. This is
a guy he's got a lot more speed and than
Hayesus my Day every bit the hitter that my Day
is in terms of hand eye coordination, where he doesn't

(08:30):
have He just doesn't have the explosive bat speed. He
doesn't have the physicality that Hayesus my Day has. But
he's a really really good baseball player. As I mentioned
in the intro, he did struggle in high A. In fact,
the hit below them in Doze line, which was really
surprising given how good that hit tool is. But you know,
things like that do happen, and so hopefully with some

(08:53):
adjustments next year, I expect him to just hit the
ground running again again. Forty five out to fifty one's
s dolean bases, nine home runs, a four to twenty
two slug. I think it's an everyday player, an impact player,
twelve to eighteen home runs, tons of stolen bases, and
I think he hits. I think it's a really, really

(09:13):
good baseball player. Jefferson Quarro number three, missed all of
twenty twenty four season and then spent the first month
on the IL with a hamstring injury. Finally got into
into game action, it was quickly moved up to Triple A.
Had a good season. You know, is he going to
be able to push William Contreero's out of catcher? No?

(09:38):
Is he a better catcher than William Contraras. I think
they're both pretty average. But Jeffson Quarra is a little dude.
He's only five foot eleven, and usually it's not a
big guy. I mean, many times you'll see short, squatty
guys like five foot eleven but also two hundred and
thirty pounds kind of thing. Jeffson Quaro is not that
type of body set. So if he stays at ketcher,

(10:01):
I think he has a chance to be a top
fifteen catcher. If he has to move off of that,
I don't think he'll be like a top fifteen outfield.
He might be more of a like a top forty
five outfielder if you will. It's a good baseball player.
I think he's going to hit. I think there's going
to be good pop there and kind of in the
fifteen to twenty eighteen to twenty ton of home run pop.

(10:21):
Coming to Umber four is Cooper Prott pr Att shortstop.
It doesn't get a whole lot of love. Kid that
was signed for well over slot value. Six foot four
kid still lets shortstop. He looks like he can handle
the position. That would not surprise me. If he has
to move off the position somebody that has not talked
about in more shallower dynasty leagues, he might be available

(10:44):
in the waiver wire. It's a really good baseball player,
top one hundred prospect for me. I think he's going
to continue to develop some power. There's good speed there,
so you could be talking, you know, twenty twenty guy
maybe one day, but it's probably more of a fifteen
to twenty kind of player. And I think he's going
to hit, So I mean it's it's a very very

(11:05):
good baseball player. Logan Henderson, right handed pitcher. We saw
him in the major leagues the beginning of the season.
The end of the season, they kind of split his time,
and remember ten was going, why aren't they bringing him up?
And look the there are a ton of Logan Henderson's
in the Milwaukee Brewer system, kind of that mid rotation,

(11:25):
number four type of starter, and I think that's that's
who Logan Henderson is going to be. They get the
most out of their guys who don't throw very hard,
and that is Logan Henderson with his fastball averaging ninety
three miles an hour, It's got really good wiggle on it,
gets a good whiff rate with his fastball. But I
think ultimately he is going to be, you know, a

(11:47):
four ear a guy win ten to twelve starts and
you know, pitch have a long career. It's going to
be a very good pitcher, but not at top of
the rotation guy. And I think he's going to be
a candidate to see a lot of starts in Milwaukee
next season, assuming health. Braylan Payne was this comes in

(12:09):
at number six. He was the Brewers twenty twenty four
draft team. I really like this kid. I have him
in a bunch of dynasty leagues and he just he
didn't have a very good season. Started off the year well,
d at the year, well, but in the middle there
wasn't a whole lot there. I mean, just a ton
of ground balls, more swing and missing his game than
I thought he was going to have, but I did again,

(12:31):
I had a chance to see that Mudcats team in
the second series of so it's probably the middle of April,
which was exciting us. On Breathing Paint, I saw all
the guys were gonna talk about Brailn Pain, Pinya, my Day,
Eric the Tanti, a couple other guys. I mean, so

(12:52):
it was a who's who, probably one of the best
rosters for prospects of any team in the minor leagues
in twenty twenty five. Just great. I mean, just a
lot of fun to watch. But anyway, there's seventy speed,
there's tremendous athleticism I think of it all comes together.
He's going to be a leadoff type of hitter. Some pop,

(13:14):
but he's got to get the ball off the ground.
He needs to get stronger, he needs to make better
swing decisions. But I love the raw physicality. He's just
a little overwhelmed and just did not play well this season.
Andrew Fisher, which my AI assistant likes a little bit
more than I do have him at seven. He has
him at four. He was the first round draft pick.

(13:37):
He's already seen high a whis a little unusual for
the Brewers to push their number one draft picks that high,
but they did. I think ultimately he's going to be
at first base, and I keep compying him to Reese Hoskins,
and if he is pretty good baseball player, it's a
full time regular and everyday player guy that's going to

(13:57):
hit twenty five to thirty home runs. He hits enough
first four a NTI professional ball three eleven four two
four forty six slash line in nineteen games, oddly only
hit one home run. He's got huge raw power, but
stole eight bases. I have no idea where the eight
stolen basis came from, so that's probably a little bit

(14:20):
more noise than a signal of something brewing at his profile.
I just don't think he's going to have much power
and much speed at all. So again I cop him
to Rees Hoskins, which a pretty good baseball player, and
I believe Reez Hoskins. Well, they left him off the
postseason roster, which is pretty brutal, and I think he
is I think they just this is his last year

(14:43):
that he signed for, not the any Andrew Fisher's not
going to be up. Well, I've got him as a
twenty twenty six potential. That's probably more like twenty twenty
seven than he comes up. So you figured next season
he starts in high A, finishes in double A. Yeah,
maybe maybe he gets a cup of car at the
end of the the end of the season, but it's
more likely twenty twenty seven. And again, I know there's

(15:06):
potentially a strong indication of a workstop wach. I haven't
considered that at all in my ETA. When a guy
gets there, I'm assuming we're going to be playing a
full season and on time. Wishful thank you to no Bishop.
Letson is pretty much a sleeper in the system because
it's a kid that's not talked about. You know, he

(15:27):
doesn't always throw strikes, but he throws really hard. It's
really good shapes of his pitches. He's a pitch pitch
data guy because if you take a look at the
underlying profile of his arsenal, it looks like he can
pitch at the top of the rotation. I've got him
as a top sixties starting pitcher. I probably should have

(15:47):
put with upside because I think he is. I think
there's that kind of upside. Now. He did spend more
time on the iel than he did pitching, but when
he was there he looked really, really good. Now it
was a shoulder issues, litle bit worried about that. That
is Bishop Letson. Robert Gasser. We saw really encouraging signs
of him in twenty twenty four. Unfortunately he had Tommy

(16:10):
John surgery, missed all but the month of September. Got
a late season call up back to the Brewers, made
the postseason roster, had one outing, two innings. I don't
think he gave up a run. So it's a guy
that pitched extremely well when he got originally got the
call in twenty twenty four. I think his chance to

(16:30):
be number three four starter really interesting guy and a
kid that might be forgotten about going into drafts next season.
Don't let that be you. That's Robert Gasser. And the
last name for you know for our general public podcast

(16:50):
is Coleman Crow, right handed pitcher, triple a guy, high
floor strikethrower, great spin on his pitches. He needs to
throw a little bit harder. I've got him as a
top sixties starting pitcher with some upside, which is what
I should have had letson at, but I forgot to
put upside. Not a big guy throw strikes love nineties fastball.

(17:13):
We've seen it, and you know I copped them a
little bit to Zebbi Matthews, which Zebbi Matthews has got annihilated.
He was up in the major leagues, so I'm hoping
he does a little bit better than Zebby did. But
I kind of like Coleman Coleman Crow. So he's availed
and he's in triple A Saif he's available in your
dynasty league, even one year leagues and those draft and

(17:34):
holds as a late forties kind of target, that might
not be such a bad deal. That is our list
for the general public. So I'll let you guys go.
I'll just do a come come out with some music

easier to make a break again. I encourage you to
