Speaker 1 (00:21):
Greened is acutations. Everyone, if you're twelve to welcome to
Fantasy Baseball Live. And as we're coming on the air,
we have breaking news. Timmy, Timmy, I got stopped that
it gets too loud. Timmy just announces we were coming
on the air that he has got the catchers almost finished,
(00:42):
with first base right around the corner. And Tim, it
sounds like the first week, first Sunday in December, we're
going to be doing rankings for catchers and that means
draft season is upon us.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
It's getting awfuled urn closed. Yeah, I should uh. I
decided I'm going to do one of those one hundred
and fifty dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
McLeod, you've been teasing about that for the last four weeks.
Just shut up and get it done. That's what I'm
going to say. It's a Rich Wilson speaking for on
behalf of our listeners.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Let's have it.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Okay, let's get it on.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Let's get it on, Tim, Peter Patter, let's get at
it right exactly. Okay, Yes, I'm gonna I'm going to
break into my stash and come up with one hundred
and fifty US, which I think is somewhere around thirteen
hundred Canadian and we'll we'll go from there. I just
(01:40):
got a I just got a craving to draft early.
I really do. And I shouldn't because it's not something
that it's not something I normally do, but it's just
I just gotta crave. I won't. I want to draft
a league. Okay, it's all I have to say.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
So my humble opinion is, I mean, you're a great player.
In a great draft. You you you will do probably
better than I would have done that early. But what
I'm absolutely convinced of is you'll do much better on
subsequent drafts because you'll have a better sense of the
player pool because you'll have four hours or two hours
whichever one you decide to pick to think about picks.
(02:19):
So you'll be really studying the board.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Mm hmm. Yeah. I've definitely got some some ideas and
we'll just see how it well, just see how it
all falls into place. I I just want to I
just want to see a draft that i'm involved with. Yeah, oh,
and take an early look, and.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah it's and and I love this slow drift.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
I realize, I realize what you're saying is true. It
really is. But I got that's just one of the
things I want to do.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, and so what will happen because again I do
them first of January, is you'll get a chance to
think more than you you're more than you think because
you've done slow drafts before, but you're gonna be able
to do it before everybody else. Is you're gonna have
a much better sense where players are going, and you'll
be researching players that you put in your queue. And
you think it's just gonna it's gonna make your subsequent
(03:15):
drafts be better because you're gonna know a lot more.
That's that's my humble opinion why you do slow drafts early?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Well, yeah, and it will also help and give me
an opportunity to see how everything fits into my ranking projects.
That's what you're well under way. So yeah, it's it's
a win win as.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Far as Yeah, well, we're excited. So hopefully we won't
be having the same conversation after Christmas.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
No, by then we'll be into the regular drafts. So yeah,
they won't be early drafts anymore. No, definitely not so.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
On our last we'll get into fantasy baseball here in
a second. But on our last podcast with tim and
I just recorded the Kansas City where in Minnesota Twins
prospects and you'll see that probably on Wednesday. And I
teased everyone saying, I had a great retires day yesterday, Timmy,
would you like to hear about it?
Speaker 2 (04:11):
I would like to know what a great retires day
for rich Wilson is. I got a good idea what
mine is, but I'm curious to hear what makes a
great day in the Wilson household.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
It actually started on Friday evening at five o'clock. We
went to a Coastal winery, which is a wine and
tapics us. It's on the island. It's a little tiny
bar that they have live music on Tuesdays and Fridays,
and they also have pizza on Tuesdays and Friday. So
we went and had pizza, watched a guy play the guitar,
(04:45):
and met some friends old acquaintances that were there at
the same time. Got to talk with them at a
really good fun evening with them. Got home around nine
o'clock or so, and we've been binge watching. You ever
heard of the Gilded Age TV show?
Speaker 2 (05:04):
No?
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Do you know what the Gilded Age is?
Speaker 2 (05:08):
I live it every day, right now.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
So the guilded age was the late eighteen hundred. It's
almost up until the stock market crash here in the
United States, principally in New York, where it was the
very very rich and everybody else. And it's a lot
of people equait the gilded kind of the tech bro
age that we're going through now, kind of the modern
(05:32):
day Gilded Age, where you've got the Elon Muskin, you know,
another twenty guys that are so rich compared to everybody else.
So it is a it's a historical fiction portrayal of
high society. The opera and JP Morgan and the Vanderbilts
and all these people robber barons basically trying to create
(05:54):
commerce within the United States. It's on HBO. It's absolutely great.
It's a little soap opera, I will admit, but we
Binge watched that until too late on Saturday morning or
late Friday evening. Saturday morning, got up late, made oatmeal,
I did the notes, kind of hung around a little
(06:16):
bit on Saturday morning, went for a run, did absolutely nothing.
Laurie looks at me, go hey, let's go to lunch.
We rode our bikes over to a place on the
beach and had wonderful, a wonderful lunch. For three hours.
We just sat on the sat eight, looked at the beach, talked,
came home about three o'clock in the afternoon, had a nap.
(06:40):
Say up too late?
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Perfect, perfect, Yeah you were up too late, eating steady
all day, right, steady all day?
Speaker 1 (06:48):
And got up, said what do we want to do, Well,
let's watch more Gilded Age. So we watched the munch
more Gilded Age, had a tomato sandwich on toast as
Tien loves for a quick little dinner, and went to bed.
That was our yesterday, basically eating and watching TV, sitting
on kind of at a bar area looking out on
(07:09):
the beach. That's a retire day, no kids to worry about,
no work to worry about. It was great.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Yeah, no, that that is awesome. And we had basically
the same day here yesterday. We've been watched a couple
of shows we were catching catching up on and yeah,
watch TV. Slept in a little bit. Uh my, my
oldest was up here with his oldest playing hockey, so
we went out to hockey.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
I remember that.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Yeah, yeah, So went out and saw the young fella
playing some hockey, went for lunch. And you know what,
You know you've done a good job with your kids
rich when you go to take the bill and they
take it first and say it's it's on me. You're
(08:01):
not paying for this, So of course I should have steak.
But wow, but I know they took care of the
took took care of lunch. We were there for a
couple hours catching up and yeah, no, it was a
good day, it really was.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Well I'm jealous. My I can think of one time.
I think my son picked up the check. He's thirty
five now, so that's not gone. Well uh, and it's
it's not like he's destitute. That they do quite quite well.
And my daughter, well she's much nicer, so I'll pick
up the check every once in a while.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
But well she's the one that get you all the
sweet stuff for your birthday.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Right Yeah, yeah, yeah, I love them equally. But my daughters, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Yeah, I got too. And I hear you. Yeah, the
old the older one's always given me proper for anything
that I do for I'm okay. And the younger one
standing there with a Sando sorry, yeah, he's got the
first Nikolai ever made. Okay, And you ain't shaking it
loose from them. Okay, they're just totally totally opposites, but
(09:10):
it was, it was it was nice to have him bias.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
That is that is really really awesome. So yeah, I'm
still waiting for the kids to principally pick up the bill.
And it's like, you know, I got two two children
and they're married to you know two and they're they're
all like very success and they make tons of money. Yeah,
dad who has is on a fixed income paying for
(09:36):
all the meals? I mean, come on, like, what is
going on here?
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Yeah, well I can tell you, you know, rich what
has probably helped in my case. Okay, is one of
the first things I bring up. Yeah, I'm down to
two part time jobs now, George, Okay, I'm finding it
a little bit tiring. But after my third nap of
the day and you know, some extra vitamins, I'm sort
of hanging in there, and hey, play the Gilkurt, if
(10:00):
you have to do what you gotta do, Right.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
We went out, we all went out of the brunch.
We all went out the brunch. I think it was
before we left. So so what is it, uh, maybe
the middle of October, so a month ago, six weeks ago,
we had the brunch and I just said, okay, this
is a test case when the bill comes. It just
sat there to me, sat there like a smelly fish,
(10:23):
like nobody.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Gathering dust on your table.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Nobody's reaching for this. I mean, I'm like, damn it,
like all right, yeah, put it down, Like I'm looking around, going,
no one's gonna pick up this card, right, there's no one. Okay,
so here I go.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Yeah. Yeah, So anyhow, I get what it's It's nice
to have one of those days where you catch up
on TV, you gloat, somebody buys your lunch, you have
a nap, you hit the sack fairly early, and get
a good night's sleep. And yeah, those are what retired
days should should be made up of. Right.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Absolutely, it was a really good Saturday and been a
good Sunday and spending most of it with you. But
it's been a really good Sunday as well, so yes, likewise,
so Timmy, we talked about prospects first hour. Again, people
will get that on Wednesday. We've really got two topics
that we're going to talk about today, and the principal
(11:24):
one is fantasy questions of the national leakiest. We're going
to do the Braves and Marlins. Looking forward to that discussion.
But we play a game every year. The free agency
signing period is started, I guess we're in it, and
I've got twelve guys of names. I just went to
the people that cover this and I took their aggregate
(11:47):
of the top twelve guys they have that are going
to be available. And I guess the first thing is
bad news for people that like to see this stuff
happen in the Winter Meeting. It's the top twelve guys.
Six of them are Bars clients stem so we know
it's going to take a long time for these guys
to sign.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Somewhere around the middle of March, Okay, we'll get announcements
on probably half of them.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
It's so frustrating. I mean, it's so frustrating that this
is how Bars does it. And I mean I would
love for the Winter Meetings, which occurs in what three
weeks or so. I would love to see that kind
of become what it used to be, which was always
the bonanza of signings and trades, and it just is
not that anymore.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Well, you know what you're talking about. The Boris clients
and number twelve on your list. Tessay, he's a Borris client,
and I'm going to predict that this NPB picture is
the first Boris client to sign.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
Well, that's because he has a time limit. So the
time is the time started.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
So when did you, Rich, Rich? Rich? Why did you?
I was being very yes.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
I think his clock started on Wednesday or something. So yeah,
I think in the next six weeks he's he's gonna
have to sign, so.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
It pretty quick though.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
But shall we get our predictions as to where these
guys are signing?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
And you didn't You didn't type in your answers this time.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
No, I'm not exactly I'm not exactly sure here, so
uh versus Kyle Tucker, I'm assuming he's the he's the
jewel here. He is represented by Excelly, is not a
Bar's client. Obviously outfitter with the Chicago Cubs, another great season,
a little injured, but I'm assuming he's a huge four
(13:52):
or five hundred million dollar guy. Tend he's going to
be a big, big signing. Where does he go?
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Team Dodgers are interested, they need no fielder. What's four
hundred million, they'll probably defer three hundred and fifty million
of it over the next thirty five years. But I'm
sure they'll find some way to make it work for
Kyle Tucker. I gotta go Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
I don't want to be boring, but I have to
go Dodgers as well. That was where I was thinking,
and I'm kind of with you. I believe they will
overpay him and defer most of the money. Maybe that's
what they've been doing. So if he's a four hundred
million dollar player, they'll give him for sixty for eighty
and deferred over twenty years, and that'll be the deal.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
And Kyle Tucker will get himself. I'm better than average
shot at the World Series ring.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
It just if you're an elite, if you're the best
free agent on the market, why not just wait till
the Dodgers coming offer you the money. I mean, that's
that's what I would do.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yeah, it's and I'm sure that whatever he signs for,
it will be brought up after December one, twenty twenty six. Yeah,
because that's when the DBA expires.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Yep, yep. So what do you mean that's when the
what expires CBA. Oh, yeah, after you have twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah, there's yeah, December one, that's when we that's when
we start seeing, uh, the owners fight amongst themselves and
ask the players to sort it out for them. Does
that Does it sound reasonable?
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Yeah? I mean, I mean you're starting to just I mean, well,
we've been thinking there'll be dire results here for a
long time and there's nothing that has been that has
changed that that would predict that it's going to be
anything but easy. And it's just a shame that everybody's
making tons of money, particularly the owners and up but
(16:00):
they're I mean we saw it, you know, four years ago.
They're going to screw this up again and we're going
to have a long lockout or strike or whatever it is.
I mean, you just know that's where this is going.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Well, the you know, one of the things I'm hearing,
one of the rumors I'm hearing out of Japan is
the reason we're seeing so many players posted this year.
I think we're up to four or five now, and
one of the reasons we're seeing that level is because
teams are concerned with the posting. The twenty twenty seven
could be a problem year, and hey, if you're going
(16:35):
to post somebody this year or next, why wouldn't you
go with this year and get your posting fee and
get everything taken care of, and let Major League Baseball
worry about its problems next year without making it your
problem as well.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Yeah, So I used to deal with two types of
negotiations when I worked immy. One was buying companies, which
was completely different than likely with contracts for whether they
were technology support contracts, what all the crap that you
that you need to run a business. And I worked
for a very large corporation that had huge contracts, and
(17:14):
we had a guy that ran our contract negotiation who
was freaking brilliant. And he was, I mean, he was
just like like ice cold veins, you know.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
I just was was un totally, totally, totally ruthless, just
did not worry about anything.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
But he told me that, look, this could get dicey
every like big contract that would come up because because
we will not negotiate. We know that the dealer is
with IBM, you fill in the blank of the vendor.
It's coming up next September. We're not going to start
negotiate until until the middle of August, and you know,
and that's just what happens with these guys that are
professional negotiators. Negotiators, we're a year from the next CBA.
(17:58):
They're not going to start negotiat until the closer you get,
because that's just the way it's done. Because people want
that sense of urgency.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Yep, definitely. And when you have a long deadline, that
is just a lot of wasted time. It doesn't it
doesn't happen to a little last minute. That's part of
the course. Yep.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Yeah. The guy who was our head and negotiators, his
first name is Veto. I'll leave it at that.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Oki brought in his violin case for every meeting.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
This guy, this guy was a man. He was unbelievable.
I mean, I just I would sit I'd have to leave.
I didn't have the stones to sit in there and
do the stuff that, you know, just to have just that.
I would be like, I give in. Nope, just nope,
we're not giving it. I just would leave. I can't
do this, it's too stressful. I would just leave and
he come back and it would always be favorable. It
(18:53):
was unbelievable how he was able to do that. And
anyway I digressed. I mean second guy is bobash Shit
after a great run in the in the last season,
heard in the playoffs, obviously second base, probably currently with Toronto.
He's represented by Van your Sports, so it's not Bar's client.
(19:14):
Where does he sign.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
I'm going to go out on a limb a little
bit here and say that he wants to play at shortstop. Okay,
then no, he's not. No, I'm I've got I've got
Ouba Shit heading to the Atlanta Braves. And the reason
(19:40):
I'm looking at Atlanta is because right now Nick Allen
is currently penciled in at shortstop.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
I see that.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Okay, unless Nacho Alvarez can handle the shortstop gig.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
He cannot. He cannot. I'll answer that question for you.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Okay, then it's either Nick Gallen or a free agent.
And the ties with Bobashett and Atlanta fairly strong because
alex Anthopolis is running the show there. I it's it's
a bit of a long shot, but I think there's
(20:20):
a chance that Bobache ends up in Atlanta playing shortstop
for the Braves.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Riddle me this, McLeod, When is the last guy? I
guess Chris Sale They they signed as a free agent.
They don't sign a lot of free agents. It's it's
a it's a it's a build within organization.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
It is. But when was the last time that the
build within was looking at Nick Allen as their everyday
short stuff surrounded by a lot of good talent. I
and again, not a person. I'm sure Nick Allen is
a wonderful human being, But the numbers sort of speak
of the Braves need short stop and where are they
going to go to get one? And I think there's
(21:03):
an opportunity, And with the ties to the former Toronto
guy Anthopolis, I just think there's a chance that they
take a look. And again, they can probably structure something
that would work reasonably well with Bishev. If you the
Braves are famous for signing people to seven eight year extensions,
(21:24):
Well they're not going to get that. But I don't
think Bobashet's gonna get three hundred million either, So maybe
they can work with him and come up with a
number that's that's gonna work. So, like I said, the
obvious answer is Toronto, he stays there, but I'm going
to go with Atlanta. I think that the Jays are
going to look in a couple different directions.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
I will say, Tim, your logic is impressive. I love
the research you did. I think it's a good call
by you. I don't know if it's gonna happen, but
man's that's a great call. If I'm sure there's a
prop bets somewhere you can battle this, that's a reasonable
that's a good prop bet to take. I'm being dull here.
I'm saying he stays with the Blue Jays, So maybe
(22:06):
I can pick up a win here with Bobachet staying
with the Blue Jays.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Yeah, I think that's I think that's the obvious. I
just have a feeling that the Jays are going to
head into a couple of different directions. Maybe I'll elaborate
on that as we go further down the list.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Cody Bellinger is the next guy on the list, outfit
with the New York Yankees. He has a bar's client.
As we know, Cody Bellinger has struggled to get the money.
Signed with the Cubs one year deal, signed with the
Yankees one year deal. You know, he's never he's never
had a chance to get close to that MVP season
(22:43):
he had back in twenty nineteen, going on memory there.
But where does he sign, mister macloud, He.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Signs a series of one year octo deals with the Yankees.
I just think, well, when you look at the teams
out there, Okay, I know that Jays. You know he
was in Toronto last week, Go okay, getting wind and
wined and dined, and yeah, nobody's gonna turn down free supper.
But does that, you know, does that mean he's interested
(23:12):
interested in the Jays. I I think he wants to
stay in New York with the Yankees, and I think
they'll find some way to work it out, you know,
for the for the money that Cody Bellinger is looking at,
it rules a lot of teams out of the equation.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
And if I'm looking at Kyle o' tucker with the Dodgers,
Cody Bellinger, no, that's not gonna he's not going back. No,
that's not gonna happen. So I'm gonna say he stays
in New York with the yank I.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Mean, that's the logical. I mean, it was twenty nine
home runs last season. And I think I remember saying
this after he signed with the Yankees. I might have
said this to my Patreon members. It was This is
the perfect place because Yankee Stadium was made for Cody Bellinger.
This is not a guy that has high end velcy,
high in exit velocity, but he's a deadpool hitter. He's
a yoker, so there's a heavy leverage this swing, and
(24:01):
he just feasted off that short port. You can actually
go out to Baseball Savant and to see it. I mean,
it's just everything right over the right, over the fence
to obviously home in away. But that's just the player
he is. And I think your logic is good. But
I don't want to go with the Yankees because that's boring. Uh,
both of us go there. So I'm going to go
(24:24):
with the Saint Louis Cardinals, who I think need to
have the next Paul Goldschmidt, somebody they can build around.
I think they will overpay for Cody Bellinger because that's
what they do. So that's where that's where I'm going.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Yeah, I just he blocked JJ Witherhold with that moveow
Probably sorry, Yeah, probably good answer. Yeah, No, it makes
a lot of sense. The Cards have had a lot
of stability at first base over the years. Yeah, they
had just a couple over the past twenty years. You know,
with Albert and you know what I mean, then n
gold Schmid.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Yeah yeah, not necessarily, just that first first base. I'm
just talking. How do I say this without offending people?
He just looks like a guy that they typically bring
in to Saint Louis uh and and maybe a guy
that's at thirties a little bit past his prime. I
think they add another year onto him because they need
(25:23):
a star and they're afraid of JJ Weatherholds bringing a
Cody Bellinger who won't perform well, perform well for a
couple three years, and then he'll be he'll be done.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
Yeah. Interesting call. I like it though. Interesting?
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Okay? Uh Alex Bregnant third base of bars client as
we all know with the Boston Red Sox currently, but
he's opting out of it. I believe he's already said that.
So where does he sign.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
I'm gonna go with a team that chased him hard
when he signed with Boston and was definitely in the
hunt for him, and I'm gonna go with the Detroit Tigers.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
M let's think about that for a Minutelet's bring up
the Tiger's tim So let's take a look at the
roster resource and look at their their lineup here, let's
see because because we we definitely got Ken McGonagall, who
(26:22):
won the MVP of the Fall League, who I think,
I mean, from all indications, if he doesn't break camp
with a team, it's going to be very soon afterwards.
So at third base is currently Colt Keith's Cole Keith
would move to second base, correct.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
And Zach mcinstry would move into a super sub rule.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
But that's I mean, Kevin mcgonagall's probably best at second base.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
So can he plays shortstop?
Speaker 1 (26:53):
I mean he can at a pinch, but I don't
know where he played in the Fall League. I mean
I think he's a better I mean, I think you're
asking a lot out of throwing him at shorts up.
So that's the thing that bothers me. Because Cold Keith
is a good player. Could they move Cold Keith to
left field? No, that's whe Riley Green is. Could they
(27:13):
move to d H I mean, Carry Carpenter's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
So I think it moved to right field when Zeal Perez,
I don't.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Know, if I guess Cole Keith would, I don't know
if he's got the r in to play right field,
doesn't play third base. That's where he's playing, So I
don't know that's I mean, I like the fact that
they need more more umph than that lineup, and they
need somebody they can count on it, and obviously Bregman
is that guy.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
So uh yeah, yeah, I think he was the number two.
I think he was the number two choice for Bregman
when he signed with Boston. I know, I know Detroit
was chasing him hard, so I just figured they'll do
it again, go back to that.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Well, what do you think the chances of Bregman re
signing with the Red.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Sox, Well, that would be my other option. Yeah, and
possibly the Jays if the Jays don't do or they
think they're gonna do, I think the Jays would be
in the mix there as well.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yeah, so they're gonna go to Yeah, they're gonna go
to battle with Marcela Mayor at third base. Golly, if
if I'm if I've got a team that's going to
compete next season, I think I won Alex Bregman playing
third base and not Marcelo Mayor, even though I like
Marcelo Mayor. Because I'm taking somewhat of a gamble with
Romant Anthony that he's going to develop less of a
(28:38):
risk with William or Bray, but he's still a young kid.
Carlos Survice, I got a lot of saddan to Raffael.
I got a lot of young kids. There'd be nice
to have just a Stalwarts sitting at third base, somebody
that you can just point to not worry about him.
Is provided he stays healthy. And I know he was
a little injured last season, but for the most part,
he stayed healthy throughout his career.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Yeah, it's again, I guess it depends on how Boston,
the direction Boston wants to head. And I've got them
giving up some offense so they can spend some money
on pitching.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
Would they keep saying they're going to move Jaron Duram
at least that's all the speculation. And where is Christian
Campbell's Christian Campbell get moved as well?
Speaker 2 (29:24):
He's on a rather team friendly deal.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Very much so, so he's going to be very valuable.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
M Yeah, No, it's I can I think if Boston
is going to commit to the kids, do it now.
Commit get yourself a pitcher on a you know, four
or five year deal and shore that up. And I
hope we have a twenty twenty seven and everything comes together.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Usually Bar's clients don't re up with their team.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Right, No, they don't. One set of negotiations.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
Enough, I'm going to go because and when I was
writing the notes up for this week and probably spilling
in the nexteks, we're not going to get to the Phillies.
The Phillies offense, they're going to be losing j t Ramolt,
so they're going to potentially be losing Kyle Schwarber. I
(30:19):
think they need a bat now. Alex Baum can move
to first base, but that's where Bryce Harper is. I
think I think Bregman would look good in that sitting
at third base. And I don't think they'd be afraid
to spend the money on breakfast. So I'm gonna go
with the Phillies.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Okay, sounds good.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
Okay, Okay, So and Rich's the Phillies. Tim Framburvalde is
the first pitcher.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
The first picture. Well, when you've got Logan Webb and
Robbie Ray, Okay, you got some potential there, But the
Giants need another pitcher, and I think frambur Belle this
is going to be the guy that they that they
look at. Signing a deal with so I'm gonna go
with the Giants.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
It's a good call by you. I'm going to go
with the Boston Red Sox for all the reasons that
we all know they need. They need a guy to
back up Garrett Crochet. I do like Conic Condy earlier,
like all the other kid all kids with tea help me.
(31:27):
I like that. But the other kid, that's uh. Anyway,
that guy, let's see, came up last season.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Oh, I know who you're It's on the tip of
my tongue.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
I'm looking through.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Boston.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
I wonder I can't find him because I'm looking at
I'm looking at the Phillies.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Nah, you're probably looking at we got early.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Yeah, you had a bit of a breakout season last season.
Uh sounds like looks like uh a fun Peyton Toll.
There you go, Painton, that's it.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
And yeah, they've got they've got a couple couple other
arms paralyss. I guess maybe Kyle Harrison. Uh.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
I mean he still needs a breaking pitch. I mean
he's got to get a breaking pitch. And I know
that the Red Sox started to introduce a cutter with him,
you know, started with some spotty success. So here's the
other guy.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Uh who else did I mension there? Good question? I
can't remember. And it was like ten seconds ago.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Paralys Paralys coming back from Tommy John Surgery maybe the
second half guy, but another really yeah, yeah, Timmy to
take a break, come back, and I've got five more. Okay,
(33:02):
since I think Er Suarez fan Tim is not nice.
Tim probably hasn't played in Japan because he's not going
to be signed by anybody.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
But uh no, I had step out.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
I'm going with the Baltimore Orioles for Ranger Suarez. I
I mean, he's going to be expensive because he's a
bar As client, but something tells me I like, I
love Ranger Swarz. I think he's better than people think.
I just don't know if he's going to be a
two hundred million dollar guy, which I think Framber Valdez is,
(33:40):
and and the the Orioles are cheap, particularly when it
comes to the pitching. I would love to see Ranger
Suarez going with Trevor Rodgers and going with Grayson Rodriguez
and the Orioles trying to put the pedal to the
metal a little bit. So that's where I'm.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Going Okay, yeah, no, good call. I'm I'm going with
the Cubs. You know, hey, they lost shot on Managa. Okay,
they got to find that. They got to find another picture,
preferable a lefty. So why not when right now your
rotation is Matthew Boyd and Kate Horton with James and
Tyan Colin Ray have your The Cubs need a lefty,
(34:17):
so I'm gonna I'm gonna have him go into the
Chicago Cubs. Uh So.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Another Bar's client is Pete Alonso did a one year
opt out deal. I think it was an opt out
deal with the Mets. I would think, and we'll talk
about this next week with Veritis and uh and Battie.
I think I think that's your your corner, guys.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
I don't think they're going to resign Pete Alonzo. Where
do you have him going.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
I took a look at some of the West Coast
teams and I know right now the Padres are embroiled
in a little bit of you know, possibly an ownership
ownership change, and there's some legal things happening. But I
think San Diego be a good fit. And I know
it's a long shot, but the Padres don't have anybody
at first base, and I don't think that. I think
(35:09):
Pete Alongso they need a big bet in that lineup,
and so I'm thinking that.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
That's a good call. T that's a really good call.
Will they spend the money? And I think you're right
with you? Yeah, yeah, with the seam looking at who
is their first basement? Now, Gavin Sheet's what's wrong with Gavin?
Speaker 2 (35:31):
She Okay, how long did you say we were dedicating
to this podcast, my friend, Yeah, just added twenty minutes
with that question. Uh no, Yeah, they need a power bet,
they really do.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Yeah, I'm just looking at I mean, I'm looking at
all the other first basement and there's not a lot
of teams that's that have big money that need a
first baseman. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
I think Pete Alonso could end up with in exactly
the same situation he was last year at this time,
a series of one year deals with optotes.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Yeah, it doesn't look good to me at all. I mean,
the Astros, but they've got Christian yeah Walker, that's not
I mean, the Royals have got Vinny p They're not
going to spend money anyway. Yeah, it would look great
for the Guardians but they're not going to spend the money. Yes,
and the Blue Jays team Babriel. Yeah, blue Jays have
(36:32):
the Dodgers have Freeman. Yeah, you could look at Boston
as being an opportunity depending on what happens with Kristin
Gass and whether they keep them, they move on, whatever
they do their boss. That's another that's another young guy
that they have to bring into the full which again
kind of supports my notion of Alex Bregman there. Unfortunately, Tim,
(36:53):
I'm looking at the math here. I think your call
of the Padres is really good. So I got to
go with the only other place available. That's the Mets.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Yeah, re upping again on another one year deal.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Tim had the Padres and Rich has the Uh Okay,
Rich has the Mets. Now we're at Kyle Schwarber.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
Tim, that's an easy one for me. Philadelphia they can't
go into the season. Yeah, they can't go into the
season without without that power, So I have he reups
with Philly.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
See, I'm I'm still trying to Mets. Okay and Kyle Schwarber. Yeah,
that's the same place I got him.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yeah, Tim, Yeah, it makes sense.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Yeah, I mean he's he's gonna get a lot of money. Tim.
I mean, I know he's a little bit of the
older side, but I mean that's almost guaranteed forty home runs.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
Yeah, you can pretty well pencil that one in. And
they're forty home runs that you can enjoy watching because
you know most of them are gonna go a long,
long way.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Yeah. I think it's a profile that's I mean, I know, look,
he turns thirty three in March, right, but guys who
walk a lot and have big power, I mean it
might not be fifty six again, but it could be
thirty five to forty. It could be that way for
the next two or three years easily with a guy again,
(38:24):
the batting maverers that could be there. It doesn't matter
because you're getting them for the you know, the three
fifty plus one base percentage, and that's just almost going
to a given.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
So Yeah, Big Poppy played with well he was forty,
I think is the last season. It was a big season. Yeah.
I think colech Warber on a five year deal can
deliver thirty five to forty home runs for the next
five years, making it I think a very very good deal.
The problem is you're looking at a dh Slot. Okay,
is Baltimore gonna spend the money? Cleveland? The teams that
(38:55):
could use a big bopper, they're not. The Yankees are still,
they're all tied up with the type of platoon players. Yeah, yeah,
you know he's not going to go to Seattle. Colorado
wouldn't spend the money, and Schwarber wants a shot of
the World Series. Right, there's not very many teams that
you know, the Dodgers can't be interested because they got
show he already sitting there. I mean, do you need Yank? Yeah? Yeah,
(39:22):
You're running out of teams that are going to invest
that sort of money. And I think Philadelphia is a
team that will and I think they'll make it work.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
You brought up a big poppy David Ortiz. Boy, there
is there could be a lot of similarities between the
two players' careers. That just the guys that can hit,
hit for power, with decent plate coverage and kind of
great team leadership him you could see you could definitely
see Kyle Schwarber again. He's not gonna be the same
(39:51):
player he is now when he's thirty eight, but you
could see him going another five years and still being
pretty good.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Yep, totally agree.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
All right, here's here's here's an interesting one, and that
is Dylan Cees. He is a Boris client, so I'm
almost the over under. Does he sign before the beginning
of spring training? I would put that he be signs afterwards.
So I'd be really careful with Dylan Ce's early in
drafts because this one doesn't feel good to me.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
No, I I agree, I think it's going to be late,
but I'm going to I'm gonna look at the Boston
Red Sox and you know, the starting pitcher. I gotta
go Boston all in on Dylan Sees.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
I gotta go Cubs because the Cubs need a pitcher
as well, so I'm gonna go with the Cubs. It's
so there's so many teams to choose from because everybody
needs pitching. I don't see the the the Dodgers pulling
a Dylan Cees out because I think there's too much
volatility there.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
But I I yeah, they'll steal. They'll steal with pitching.
They need to read deadline, right, So you have.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
We've gone three pictures, right, Bregman, Suarez and Cease, none
of them going to the Orioles and the Orioles desperately
need the top of the rotation guy.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
The Orioles are wasting a window.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
That's yeah, that's and I don't see them spending the
money on Framber Valdez or Suarez or even Dolan Sees.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Yeah, they need Framberveldez. Of all the teams that we've
talked about, they need framber Veldez. That's the guy that
needs to go to the Orioles.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
Yeah, and I again, I wish it wasn't the case,
but I just don't see them spending that. They'll look for.
They'll invest in Cody Ponce on a two year deal
and that will be their their answer to solving their
pitching problems.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
Well, you got to give them credit for Trevor Rodgers.
That looks like it might work out. I mean, he
was very good yes season. All right, Teddy, you got
your I Mura Kami third basement, first basement with the
NPPs with Excel.
Speaker 2 (42:06):
Where does he sign Seattle Mariners? There is you hear
the constant New York Yankee rumors there is no point
in New York because zero from Murakammy, none whatsoever. Seattle
is going hard to acquire them, and they will That's
that's my bet ten Mariners.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
Uh, third basement first baseman seems like a perfect fit
for the Yankees.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
Well yeah, and his best position is DH.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
Okay, yeah, that's I think that's us. I'm going with the.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
Yankees, and you could very well be right. Hey, who
other than the Dodgers needs multiple dhs, right.
Speaker 1 (42:53):
Yep? I mean it's it's just the the Yankees always
do the make the wrong move there. So that's that
is where I'm going. Okay, we're down to Josh Nayler
first base and currently with the Seattle Mariners of twenty
twenty five with the Mariners.
Speaker 2 (43:11):
Yeah, I'm I'm going with the New York Mets on
this one. Okay, I'm betting Alonso. They need a first base,
but I'm betting Alonso goes to San Diego. So if
he goes to San Diego, Okay, then you're looking at
the Mets still needing a first baseman, and Josh Naylor
(43:32):
fits the bill, and he should come in at a
price a little bit more reasonable than uh then Alonso.
And he's also younger by I think a couple of
years if I'm not mistaken. So I'm going Josh Naylor
to the New York Metropolitans.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
I've got the Alanza going back there. I know I'm right,
so so if you're wrong on that, so me put
Tim down for the UH for the Mets. All right,
I know I'm wrong here him, but I'm want to
do something fun.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
Okay, So Pittsburgh, I'm sorry the Angels.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
I'm going with the Los Angeles Angels. I don't think
Nailer is going to be all that expensive. I could
be wrong. Uh, And I think he fits into the
terrible uh approach that the that the Angels are taking.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
Yeah, the Angels covered that sort of player. And by
the way, I haven't checked yet, but I'd love to
know where Anthony rendons Adp is right.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
Now, Anthony were done since he's healthy. Tim, Okay, why
is he an invite? I thought he was. He's not
still signed with the Angels.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
Yeah, I believe he is.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
Yeah, they just the note I read said that he
was having an invite by an invite to spring training.
I'm thinking, did they just cut this guy and say
we're done.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Oh, he's missed so much time. Maybe they think he's new.
Speaker 1 (45:04):
Maybe they they forgot he's on their team. I don't know.
So okay, Timmy your guy tat Tatsuya am I emia Amaya.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
I'm gonna go with em.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
So I will say I talked. I talked to a
friend about Emayah a couple of days ago. It's actually
talked live to him, and he was not all that
bullish on him. And I'll tell you why. He said
he doesn't he doesn't throw that hard fastball's up to
ninety five six more ninety three to ninety four, and
(45:41):
said that he's listed at five eleven, but he thinks
he's more five nine, five ten. He thinks this is
a little tiny guy and he's just not going to
hold up to the major leagues. He's deeply, deeply concerned
about this kid, and you know it. He's in the
(46:01):
in a he should know world. So I'll just leave
it at that. But that was his He actually soured
me on him. So I get to play the zero
point zero when you're talking about him, because now I've
got somebody else who said that he's no good. I
know you're very high on him. So where does he go? Tim?
Speaker 2 (46:21):
Okay, Well, you're guy's wrong, obviously, and he works y.
He works ninety five Okay, he can, he can bring it.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
He told me that his velocity was down last year.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
No, not according to the red that I saw the deltographs. Now,
his velocity was good.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
This guy works. This guy works for a team that
saw eight of his games. How about that?
Speaker 2 (46:51):
Okay, Okay, Well, basically I'm gonna go with Delta graphs. Okay,
over the guy.
Speaker 1 (47:00):
What the guy? What the guy who? He told me?
Speaker 2 (47:02):
He said, gone with the white Kane and the reader gun.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
Okay, he said, adam On has gone at ninety five
point two. That was the exact.
Speaker 2 (47:12):
So that's where he works every day with his fastball. Yeah,
just saying, yeah, I think the Jays need a starting pitcher,
and I think they're going to spend their money on
a starting pitcher. This kid will probably go to a
team that is not as much as the Dodgers you
(47:34):
would think would be in contention for his services.
Speaker 1 (47:38):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
I think he's going to go to a team where
he'll be the only Japanese player possibly on the team. Okay,
he's he's a bit of a wild card that way.
He's Uh, he's very outspoken. Yeah, he's he's a good,
very good picture. My the source that I've been using
as a reference in Japan for years. His name is
Jim Allen. He used to write for their biggest paper
(48:03):
over there in the sports department. Now he's doing his
own thing, has been for a number of years. He
said his stuff is better than Yamamotos. His command isn't
but the pure raw stuff. That's the level we're looking at.
And I'm gonna take his scouting advice and go with it.
(48:23):
But I think the Jays will sign him. They need
a starting pitcher, and I think the rest of the
money that Toronto has to spend this year is going
to be spent on their bullpen. It looks like Hoffin
is not going to be their closer next year. I
can see them looking at Fairbanks or maybe Racio Iglesias
on a one two year deal and then adding more
bullpen pieces. I think I think they want to bring
(48:46):
the kid they picked up from Minnesota. Oh what's his name? Oh,
he pitched him relief for him this year, Griffin Jackson. No,
not Griffin jacks I'm thinking, uh, oh, what's the kids?
Louis Arland. I think they're going to bring Louis Arland
into the rotation. And I think if they add.
Speaker 1 (49:10):
I haven't heard that. That's fascinating.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
That's that's just coming from my guy. I think they're
gonna look at Barland in more of a starting role
this year, And hey, I could I could be wrong,
but I'm sort of looking at Barlin getting an opportunity
to start. They bring in this Japanese kid, they add
a Fairbanks or a glacist and to help shore up
(49:37):
their book. And I think that's the direction that Jays
are going to head in this offseason. So that's why
I'm heading in that direction with this kid. He'll be
more reasonable probably than the rest of the top free
agents out there.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
I think why he's a Bar's client. But I think
I think the the the Blue Jays better not sit
on their laurels with their offense because they had kind
of a memorable season. Maybe Anthony Santander comes back healthy
and all is all is put in the world. I
mean that that's gonna help, right, But to bet that
George Springer is going to have a season he had
(50:11):
in twenty twenty sixty in twenty twenty five might be
a stretch. And Ernie Clement, Alejandra Kirker, those guys going
to duplicate what they did. I mean, I would want
I would love to see them bring in a big bat.
I don't know who the big bat is going to be.
Speaker 2 (50:29):
Yeah, Hey, if you're going to bring in a big bat,
Bregman might be your answer. Yeah, and he can move
Barsier from third base into the oatfield. But I don't know.
I guess, Hey, the ideal situation for Jays fans is
they're bringing Bregman, they find a starting pitcher, and they
upgrade their bullpen. I don't know how much money Rogers
is going to give them to spend in the offseason,
(50:50):
and I think they'll go after the pitching and hope
the hitting works out before the other way around.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
I'm hearing Amaya me or whatever his name is, the kid,
the five foot ten inch guy kid.
Speaker 2 (51:04):
Uh, five eleven forty, I'm hearing. I'm hearing.
Speaker 1 (51:10):
I'm hearing his shorter timmy.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
Than Yamamoto. Hall of fame yet hall of famer Yamamoto.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
Yeah. I mean, if it's if you're saying the stuff
is better than yamamotive, then I'm going to be all wet.
I'm not hearing that, uh, because Yama obviously Yamamoto is ridiculous.
So I mean it's he proved it. He proved it
in the playoffs for sure. I'm not hearing that Dodgers
are interested in a Maaya, so which would actually give
(51:39):
me credence to the guy talk to as to maybe
the very analytics based organizations are probably shying away a
little bit, which makes my pitch my pick a little
dicey because I think the Yankees doing a great job
with looking at the analytics of all players, but they
(52:00):
also do the stupid thing. So that's why I have
them going with your Acama. So I think they go
for the big the big swing here I think in
mine is going to be a lot more money than
you think, particularly as a bar's client. That's where I
have him going. So uh and if he if the
Yankees show no interest in him, then I think that's
(52:23):
going to really give credence to my thought from what
I'm hearing from this guy is that maybe there's some
some issues with this guy is underlying, uh, pitch mechanics
and shapes of his pitches and et cetera. Because you
know the Yankees. If the again the Yankees and Dodgers
start to run away, there's a two heavy analytics organizations.
Speaker 2 (52:46):
So yeah, that way, Yeah, No, that's yeah, I'm hearing
the Yankees are very very interested.
Speaker 1 (52:52):
Yeah, which also fits my emotional sense that they're going
to go for the big name, so which you know
they have a tendency to do.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
Yeah, No, it's it's gonna be fascinating to see where
he does land. But I think you're going to be
looking at a contract north of one hundred and fifty mil.
I could see, I can see close to one seventy
one seventy five in there.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
I think you could be right. And you've You've got
Scott Boris going and saying Amaya. What if that's how
you pronounce his name?
Speaker 2 (53:23):
He's him?
Speaker 1 (53:24):
You know that the power point that page three has
got Yamamoto versus a Maaya, and they's showing a Maya
is better. It's just his guys. I look, you can
make data look like anything. He's making a Maya look
better than Yama Mota. And it's happened too many times.
The Yankees will say, oh, he's our Yama Moda. Look
(53:45):
at Yamamota did in the playoffs and game set match.
It's over hopeing Yankees.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
Yeah, and most negotiating teams. When they look at the
PowerPoint presentation, they're sitting there rolling their eyes, right. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:59):
And it's funny because I know a lot of people
in the Yankees organization, Timmy. They're really smart guys. I mean,
they're super smart there. The analytics team is I don't
want to say second the non but they're they're as
good as anybody else. But it gets up to that
cashman level, the ownership level, and they seem to like
ignore what everybody's just said and they do whatever the
(54:20):
hell they want. And it's weird, but it's it's just
the way the Yankees roll.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
Well, and let's face it, mores approaching the Yankees. It
will be, Hey, how did the Dodgers do with that
kid they just picked up? Oh, they won a World Series?
How are you doing with your latest NVB recruit? Oh
we don't have one. You can see how it's gonna
play out, rich, You really can't.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
Yeah, so yeah, and we'll see how it all works out.
And it's funny because no one leaves the Yankees. And
I guess it's probably getting to be the way the
Dodgers is because they pay so much they pay their
front office people more than everybody else. They pay their
scouts more than everybody else. So nobody leaves the Yankees
because of that, because the financial considerations are so high.
(55:06):
So even though they get ignored by Cashman, they don't
care because they're still like, Okay, well he didn't listen
to me. That's okay. I'm going home with twenty percent
more than I can. Then the Twins will pay me.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
So very generous.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, there you go. Let's that is
that is our top twelve good stuff. Let's take a
break and uh, let's let's do fantasy questions of these
two teams and get out.
Speaker 2 (55:31):
Of here so good.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
We're trying to get to these quickly. Might only do
one because we're already getting close to the hour mark.
And I made a commitment to you that I would
not go over and I'm going to try to keep
to that, and that's probably what we're just going to do.
The Braves, I think, because we've got plenty of content here.
You're good with that. I'm I'm easy, That's what that's
what she said, right.
Speaker 2 (56:03):
Yes, I get.
Speaker 1 (56:11):
There, we go, There we go. Michael Scott. You ever
watched the Office with Michael Scott with you know, the
the US version. Oh my gosh, Timmy, it's great, especially
it's seven seasons or nine seasons when when Michael Scott
is played by he's a famous actor. Why can't I
think of his name? Anyway? It's so inappropriate. It is
(56:34):
so funny, you know that was he made the line famous.
That's what she said.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
So that's okay, It's it's.
Speaker 1 (56:41):
Very it's very good.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
It's very HRS worst nightmare is.
Speaker 1 (56:47):
Hr HR is worth worst. I mean it's like if
you've ever worked in an office, you cringe and everything
he says, it's just like, this is so uncomfortable. So
it's it's great, inappropriate, comes to the exactly exactly, all right,
So let's give it the break.
Speaker 2 (57:03):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (57:04):
So last yesterday when I wrote these up, they've been
thirty nine drafts in the NFC. Ronald mccuney's ADP was
nine point eight seven, So he's the tenth pick off
the board. Two knee surgeries in three years. He stole
my bases in ninety five games, so that's about fifteen
sixteen if we annualize that. Still a great player, But
is he worth the tenth overall pick in a draft,
(57:27):
what say.
Speaker 2 (57:28):
You, Uh, No, I'm gonna pass Richard not to He's
not worth the tenth pick to me, I think would
I find sort of confusing to say the least is
how does Lindor fold to sixteen? How does how does
Gunner say at fifteen? I think I'd rather have those
(57:50):
two offensive players before Akunya.
Speaker 1 (57:56):
Is it just because he's Ronald Acunya that you just
there's always a chance he could hit forty home runs
and steal fifty bases that you don't want to let
him fall too far because that's what he could, That's
what he's done in the past, right.
Speaker 2 (58:11):
Yeah, he has. But do you want to hear some
of the other seasons he's had in the best? Yeah,
there's I think I would want with the tenth pick
something that I perceived to be a little bit more consistent.
And Francisco Lindor fits the bille. I would I would
(58:31):
push I would push Lindor, not Lindoracunya. I would I
would push him back a little bit.
Speaker 1 (58:38):
Where would he Where would he have to fall for
you to be to you to say I'll take him?
Speaker 2 (58:46):
Uh, we're looking at probably probably the wheel because I
would move Henderson Lindor up and the rest of the
rest of that first round. I don't have any issues,
but he would have to fall fifteen sixteen for me.
Speaker 1 (59:06):
So he has gone as latest latest seventeen, so there
is a chance that he would fall to the wheel.
Speaker 2 (59:14):
There is a chance, and then I'd then I'd have
to justify picking Nick Kurtz over him. No, I'm saying
fifteen sixteen, but I'm just I don't know. He's had
some monster years. But the health concerns me Rich, it
really does. And hey, and know, all these players can
(59:34):
get hurt, they can all get injured yet yet, But
with the first round pick, the one thing I'm going
to strive to not see happen with the first round
is a high injury risk. I you know, a down season,
a twenty eighty season of a guy you're betting on
thirty one hundred, you can still win, Okay, losing a
(59:56):
thirty year season, you can't. It's so I'm gonna probably
play it safe and just avoid run lagoon you all together.
But fifteen sixteen would be my target range for him.
Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
Yeah, he's still just turns twenty eight in December, so
he's still young. But I mean we're talking twenty four
twenty four four home run sixteen stolen basis because he
got hurt, and then last season nine stolen basis because
he was coming back from his recovery. I mean, it
is literally two out of the lad I guess he
was hurting twenty twenty one, right, so maybe not three
(01:00:31):
of the last four, but it's I mean that two
major surgeries and injuries. And you know, I agree with Tim,
it's at some point that you got to nail that
first round pick. Yeah, if a guy underperforms, you can
get by, but if you lose him for half the season,
that's tough to recover.
Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
It's impossible, said the guy who had a Houston Astros
quase outfielder for this year as one.
Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
Of York Dan Alvarez.
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:01:04):
Here's an interesting one. Austin Riley hit thirty six home
runs in twenty twenty two, thirty seven home runs in
twenty twenty three, the nineteen in twenty twenty four, and
sixteen last seaed last season. Yeah, he was hurt, but
he still played one hundred and two games in twenty
twenty five. Question over under thirty home runs for Austin
Riley in twenty twenty six. Over I wrote over before
(01:01:28):
you even said it, I knew you would say.
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Over. All he needs is a missing two hundred at
bats from the past two seasons, and that puts him
into the thirty home run range.
Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
I agree, bats beating next of velosses everyone ninety two
point three miles an hour. So this guy still hits
the ball really hard. Here's the question, tim His ADP
is sixty eight the fifth round. Does that feel about right?
Too high or too low? I'm going to answer too low, a.
Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Bit low for me as well. What I find interesting
looking at third base is that, yeah, when you look
at the ADP's many, Machado's at thirty eight, okay, then
there's a big gap until Riley at sixty eight okay.
Mikeel Garcia is next at ninety five, and then Eugenio
(01:02:23):
Suarez follows at one eleven. When I look at third
base and I look at Srez at one eleven, okay,
and after Sorz, then you got Bragman one twenty uh,
Matt chapmaner one seventy three, as Merger one ninety six.
(01:02:44):
I think there's a good chance that I am going
to bump down on third base, okay and pass on
that whole group. The one that I think interests me
the most being on team construction is Michael Garcia at
ninety at ninety five. But I think there are some
third base when I can target after after one twenty, okay,
(01:03:09):
which is what eighth, ninth round, I think I might
move down on third base this year, is my early thoughts.
Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
Which okay, So even though you think Ausin Riley is
a little sixty games, a little low, you're just you're
gonna wait until you get down to where Matt Shaw
that kind of area.
Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
No, not that, not that far down, No, Matt, I
could look at Michael Garcia.
Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
That's the thumb getting down. So you're you're saying avoiding
the Jose Ramirez junior junior Kamenara is so on third base,
jas Chisholm, maybe mature. You're saying miss skipping in Austin Ryman.
You're saying, skipping all of those guys.
Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
Yeah, you're looking at the Garcia is thirty two rounds
further down, Okay, So you're looking at what seventh round
thirty yeah, seventh, Yeah, you're looking at seventh seventh eighth
round on Garcia. I sort of like that there, and
then going even further down, getting up in the one
(01:04:17):
seventy to two hundred. Hey, the guy that really intrigues
me is that some marger with the third base outfield
eligibility down towards pick two hundred. The kids got real.
He's got serious power. It's gonna come with some batting
average concerns. But once you get down into the two
(01:04:39):
hundred range, yeah, I think. And Noelvie Marte is another
player that in traces me by one thirty six. I'm
a yeah, I might just leave third base and go
a little bit later on it. You got to do
it with some position, and I'm I'm considering it with
third base.
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Yeah. Do you like Jordan Westburg sitting at one thirty three?
It's pretty interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
Though, Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
Yeah, that my concern about MIKEL. Garcia. You know, my
love for MIKEL. Garcia knows no when. But man, I mean,
like I used to be able to get him in
the twentieth round. It's painful to get him in round seven. Yes,
that's just yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
But if you say if he delivers round round six value,
you're still doing well, just not as well. Is that.
I get what you're saying. It hurts when you when
you get a guy off, you know, after round fifteen, okay,
and he shows incredible growth. Yeah, the next year it
hurts all of a sudden, this guy's a fifth round pick. Well,
I only only paid peanuts for him last year. And yeah,
(01:05:45):
but guess what here, he earned the right to command
a lot more than peanuts, So you pay it, right, yep, son't.
Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
Have to say you're too low. But in the notes,
but you're going to pass. Yeah and wait on third base?
Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
Yeah. Yeah, And unless I'm sitting in the fifth spot
in Jose Ramirez, that's a whole difference. Yeah. And I
might look, I might look at the kid in Damba Bay,
you know what I mean. But they're junior or in league. Yeah,
junior Caminaro, they're sort of in leagues, all upon them,
all onto themselves, aren't they.
Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Number three is Ozzi Alby's. Look, I've been I think
everybody who pays attention to me, I know most people don't.
I've been down on Ozzi Albi's for a while. I
just didn't believe in the power. He hasn't hit a
ton of home runs since with twenty twenty two, twenty three.
So my question for you twenty twenty six stat line,
home runs, stolen bases and batting average.
Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
Oh, I'm gonna go. Seventeen home runs, thirteen stolen bases
in two forty five batting average.
Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
So that's not horrible.
Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
No, Actually, what's interesting is you mentioned his eighty two
forty five.
Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
Yeah, I've got his ADP at one fifty eight. That's
the eleventh round, ninth overall second basement. What what do
you say, I'll tell you about second base.
Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
Uh, it's not looking good. Rich, No, I googled ugly
and second base came up in my rankings. Okay, it's
but you know when you look at when you look
at Albi's okay, and you look at his twenty twenty
five stat so, okay, Like right now, he's going with
the ninth overall second baseman. Last year, he tied for
(01:07:45):
eighth and home runs at his position. In stolen bases
he tied for eleventh, and run scored, uh tied for
ninth with seventy four runs scored. Batting average, he tied
for fourteenth at a two four. When you look at
all of the stats that we're going to be looking
(01:08:06):
at using in our game. Ninth. Overall, it actually feels
feels right to me. Yeah, I'm based based on where
he ranked last year, and if I don't think there's
going to be a huge drop off, yeah, ninth off
the board seems well, right, we're space volumes as to
(01:08:28):
Sack and Mace.
Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
Right, it does. It's an interesting way to look at it.
I appreciate that a lot. I just don't like. I
just I think he's trending down for me, and I
think the bat speed is just I mean, the ex
velocities are just really really poor. They've always been that way,
and I'd be looking for somebody with more upside. Now,
(01:08:50):
who is that? I'm looking at the list, I just
don't know. It's not well, there's not there.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
I give you my two cents worth, go ahead, you know,
I might look I might look at a higher speed plan, Okay,
and move down a little bit on second base and
go with an Auto Lopez or an Xavier Edwards or
Byron Stott. Yeah, exactly, and try and shore up my
speed out of the middle, say from draft spot twelve
(01:09:24):
through to twenty, focus on that area and build speed
into my second base position and just live, just you know,
build my plan around that on my team built.
Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
I have to say, Jose CABALLEI, I don't know if
he's gonna have a full time job or not with
the Yankees. We'll have to see. But outfield, second base,
third base, shortstop, and draft and whole leagues. Everyone that's
got value, huge value.
Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
Yeah, I I don't think. I don't think Anthony Vilde
is going to be your full time shortstop. What does
that mean? I don't know right now, But I don't
think Bolby's going to be handed the keys to shortstop
and told to back or back or on into the driveway.
I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
Yeah, but I don't know if Cavalario is going to
be given the job either. I mean, they could very
easily go out and sign you know, Bashett or you
know somebody. We were just talking. We'd have to go
look at all the shortstops available, but they might bring inside.
Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
There isn't much. Well yeah, that's what there is. Yeah, yep.
Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
So okay, I got two more questions here for you.
I believe, Oh, if you've had an earthy uh okay,
if you had an early NFC draft and hold who
would you draft as their closer, as the Braves closer,
because it doesn't look like he's on the team. But
I would like to know who that is.
Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
If I had to draft today. Uh. There are two
guys that sort of get my attention, keywords being sort
of Joe Imans didn't pitch last year. Okay, he's got
a little bit of history and in a closing role.
His current ADP is two twenty.
Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
Sorry, he's no good though, Timmy, can we just agree
he's no good?
Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
You tell me? With an ADP of six thirteen. Yeah, yeah,
the two hundred and twentieth picture off the board, Yeah,
I think that reflects his stature in the game. And
Grant Holmes's interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:11:29):
Yeah, that's interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:11:32):
Yeah with two nine. If you take a look, I
don't know if you've taken a look at the Braves
bullpen situation, right, I don't think they have anybody healthy,
do they? Like?
Speaker 1 (01:11:46):
Grant Holmes is healthy, isn't he?
Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
No, he's coming off Uh, he's coming off an injury,
I believe. Okay, but Majors didn't pitch last year. You
go through all of these names, and I went through
the ex ex size and all of them have got
aches and pains or something going on with a flex
or strain. Whatever. It's Braves got to figure something out
(01:12:08):
with that bullpen, because right now it is just it
is a mess. It really is probably possibly one of
the worst bullpens in the league.
Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
Which means that they're going the closer is likely not
on the team.
Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
No. I. Hey, when you look at you know, you
can say racial Leglacius had a down year, but after
a horrible April May beginning of the year, you look
at his numbers for the second half, and I think
his year ray was just marginally over one.
Speaker 1 (01:12:40):
It was yeah, people, and I picked them up. So
I was really happy to that. I just, you know,
I just to not believe that he was done.
Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
No. I, And again, I don't know what the Braves
are going to do, but they're going to do something
when your best two options are Joe Imnes and Grant Holmes.
Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
Gave me a sleep in the organization minor majors.
Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
Okay, I I've really only got one because we've ruled
natural elvas out of the equation a shortstop, and I
think they're gonna go on Bobuchet. But the guy I
sort of like is going ninety third off the board
with an ADP of two thirty two, actually two thirty three,
(01:13:26):
and he had nine pretty good starts last year with
a two eight eighty or a strikeout prainning. I sort
of like as a number five six starter Hurston Waldrop,
what say you?
Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:13:42):
I agree, Yeah, And that's basically all I can come
up with, unless you want me to list some relief
pitcher as their closer that I've never heard of. It's yeah,
it's that's all I could come up with out of
the out of the Braves.
Speaker 1 (01:13:58):
Well the one that So it's interesting because we always
talk about the Braves not having a great minor league system,
and for years it's been down. But every year you
look up and somebody has overachieved. And we saw it
this year with Drake Baldwin winning, you know, the Rookie
(01:14:19):
of the Year. I mean, so they seem to find
a way, even though it's not a very deep system,
they seem to find a way that somebody steps up
and contributes in a major way. And I think this
season it's gonna be Jr.
Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
Richie Jr. Richie. Interesting. Yeah, there's Richie, and I don't
know much about Lara, but he's also young in a
triple A.
Speaker 1 (01:14:45):
Yeah, he didn't make my top he made my top twenty,
but he's not he's not ranked all that high.
Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
But I think Richie is.
Speaker 1 (01:14:54):
Yeah, Richie's at eighty seven, so he's a top one
hundred prospect and there's a lot of speculation that he'd
be up a sometime next season excuse me, at the
end of the season, but he wasn't. And Tommy John
Tommy John's surgery survivor and number three, number four starter,
good pitcher, so former number one draftee. So that's that's
where I would go with my uh my sleeper in
(01:15:17):
the organization.
Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
Yeah, I'm just looking at his numbers, very very good.
He doesn't allow a lot of the hits, does he.
Speaker 1 (01:15:25):
Wow, It's like, I know what I'm talking about, Tim.
Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
I know I should. I should learn to listen more, right,
I really should. Right, I'm looking at I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
Looking at the other I don't see a lot of sleep.
I do like that Grand Holmes call that you just
made though. That's interesting. But they're gonna they're gonna bring
it up. They're gonna bring it a bullpen if they don't.
I like that Grand Holmes call that you made.
Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
Yeah, you know right now, they got I think Bummer
listed at two or three. Oh okay, And like I said,
you go through it. He's got a shoulder injury. They
put him on the sixty day day l at the
end of the season. Yeah, you go through all the
names on on their list, okay, And I don't think
there's a single one of those bullpen in arms. Okay,
(01:16:18):
you know that, like it's one hundred percent, you know, Daves,
Bill Hernandez. Okay, they moved him to the sixty day
DAL in September shoulder issue. Like you just go through
and check off all the names everybody's heard on that
team in the in their bullpen. They got like half
an arm right now, and it's hanging by a thread.
It's not good. It's not good. It really is.
Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
You did your your homework, because I mean, just looking
at that lineup, Nick Allen just sticks out like a
sore thumb that I mean, it's a great defender, but
I mean sticks. I mean there's just no offense there
at all.
Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
So the bobash check going to.
Speaker 1 (01:17:00):
The Braves, Tim, I like that call a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:17:05):
It just sort of made sense when you throw Alex
and Thopolis in there as well, and you look at
the Jays and they need to starting if hey, they
need to upgrade their bullpen. That was that was made obvious.
I think in the playoffs and they need they need
another starter, And I think the Jays can go further
with another starter signed to a long term deal and
(01:17:28):
an upgrade on their bullpen. And they can on an
upgrade with a bat. They can trade for a bat
at some point in time during the season if they
if you know, if if they need more offense. So yeah,
we'll see how it all shakes down. But thanks Rich,
I appreciate it. I did go into it fairly. I
did my I did my due diligence.
Speaker 1 (01:17:50):
Just trying to find out if there's any other shortstops
that anybody's listening that are free agents.
Speaker 2 (01:17:55):
So Willie Castro.
Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
Castro, Yeah, just looking at.
Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
Free agent tracker on roster resource. Let's see what we
got here.
Speaker 1 (01:18:14):
I don't I'm doing twenty six oh uh huss and
Kim play shortstop.
Speaker 2 (01:18:20):
Yeah yeah, he could, he could sign with the he
could re up with the Braves. Maybe that was his ploy.
Speaker 1 (01:18:30):
Yeah, I mean I'm down to the thirty fifth. I'm
looking at MLB trade rumors. There's just no shortstops.
Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
You're right, Yeah, it's it's it's unbelieved. I think Willie
Castro won't be the only other one at fifty. If
you're looking at MLB, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:18:47):
I'm looking at you again, I'm looking at MLB trade riding. Yeah,
I just yeah, who was.
Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
The one you just mentioned, Willie Castro fifty?
Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
Yeah, yeah, that's that. I mean, there's nothing there, so
right if if they don't it's trade for someone, or
if they don't sign Boba Schett, I mean they're gonna
go to battle with basically a defensive guy at shortstop.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Yeah, that's yeah, that's that's why I went in that
direction because I, like I said, defensively, yeah, it's not
an issue, but there's no offense at all.
Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
Maybe if you're Boba Sheet, you may be sitting you're
sitting in a good spot where you're really the only
shortstop that's out there. And again, there are a lot
of shortstops that already have jobs. But somebody's going to
get hurt and somebody's gonna be looking for an upgrade,
YadA YadA, YadA. So and you know, he basically hit
that home run on one leg and he's got he's
(01:19:45):
got that going for him, and it's you know, I
don't know, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
But is that is that a positive or negative? He
hit it on one leg. He hit on one leg
because he was hurt, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
But I mean I think that shows grit and I
don't know, maybe they did him over thinking. Timmy take
our final break it back and wrap this puppy up.
Thanks step for hanging in there. We've been on talking
(01:20:18):
for two and a half hours, so I appreciate your
willingness to do this. And I thought it was a
great two podcasts. The second one, the one we did
with we just did for Sunday Show, was fantastic. I
love doing the fantasy questions by teams. We spent a
lot of time on it and it's fun, right, It's
really fun to.
Speaker 2 (01:20:36):
Talk well, you know, and again we're getting our early
draft prep in. We're realizing what teams have issues that
have to be addressed. We're looking at potential trade situations.
We're also looking at the strengths and weaknesses on a
position by position basis, and the ADPs. You throw it
(01:20:57):
all in there and I agree with you. It's a
lot of fun, a lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (01:21:01):
Let's tease the Miami Marlins, which comes up next week.
Jacob Marcy at bats, home run, stolen bases and ba.
Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
Okay, five point fifty twelve, thirty five, two seventy.
Speaker 1 (01:21:19):
Where is he going in drafts?
Speaker 2 (01:21:22):
See?
Speaker 1 (01:21:25):
Wow, those are pretty good numbers, Marcy. Yeah, one fifty
six mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
Yeah. And when I look at outfield man, there's a
lot of questions. You know, Yeah, he's going, he's going
just to thirty second. Yeah, with Brenton, Brenton Doyle and
Sedan Raphaela, and then you get Stephen Quan and Dylan
(01:21:56):
Cruiz and Jericks and Profar and you always healthy Mike Trow. Yeah,
there's a Jason Domingus who only plays from one side
of the play. There's a outfield is Yeah, it's I'm sad.
Speaker 1 (01:22:10):
Mike, Mike Trout dot at forty three, isn't it? Well,
I mean it's warranty, but I mean it's sad.
Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
Still, it's sad. Yeah. No, Hey, we all remember Mike
Trow being the best player in the game. Well again,
time time favors no one that catches up to all
of us.
Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
So you would rather have Jacob Marcy than Stephen Kuan. Yes,
Jacob Marcy or Dylan Cruz Marcy, Wow, get out of
your mind. I'll let you rethink that for next week.
Speaker 2 (01:22:48):
Well, I'm not gonna have a hefty substance abuse week,
so I probably won't.
Speaker 1 (01:22:54):
Wow. How about Jacob Marcy in number thirty six, Briton Doyle.
You're a guy you disappointed last season?
Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
Yes, Jacob Marcy. Wow?
Speaker 1 (01:23:04):
How Jacob Marcy? Wait a minute, let's just keep doing this.
Jacob Marcy or sod say Donald's rafaello?
Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
Okay, that's easy, Mercy.
Speaker 1 (01:23:15):
Here's a tough one, totally two different players, Joe Adele
or Jacob Marcy.
Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
Uh, that would depend on team construction. The team construction, Yeah,
they could go either way if you need the power
per personally. When when I look at when I look
at Joe Adell sitting, where's he sitting? I haven't scrolled.
Speaker 1 (01:23:46):
On forty nine is going to the tenth round?
Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
Yeah, that's going to be a nice source of power. Yeah.
Laid in drafts relatively late and then you're paying You're
getting that price because of the batting average concerns. But
I don't have a whole lot of doubt as to
whether or not he can hit thirty homers and drive
in ninety plus runs. So a lot there would depend
(01:24:11):
on the team construction.
Speaker 1 (01:24:14):
Base to make him even more interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:24:18):
Well, yeah, if you end up looking at a player like, say, oh,
what's a good example a carbon Carrol type? Okay? With
an early pick a heavier speed guy, okay, then Adele
might be your better choice. You might have shored up
(01:24:38):
your stolen bases early and you're looking for power. If
you're looking for power in the ninth tenth round, I
don't think you can go wrong with Joe.
Speaker 1 (01:24:46):
Adell, Jacob Marcy or Brandon Nemo at thirty three.
Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
Uh in an OBP league, I'll go with Nemo in
a batting average league, Flip a coin.
Speaker 1 (01:25:06):
Jacob Marcy at thirty seven or Chandler Simpson at thirty two.
Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
That hesitation, that.
Speaker 1 (01:25:16):
Is, that smells and feels a lot like all the
Oakland A's kid that had the big breakout came up
and then never heard from again, was demoted because he
uh he supported the staves in Oakland.
Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
Oh oh, I can't. You're talking about it right, Yeah,
I know what you're talking about. It.
Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
Yeah, it's a soccer pitch. Chandler Simpson.
Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
In my opinion, I look at Chandler Simpson and at
some point in time, maybe it might not be next year,
it could be the year after or the year after that.
I see Billy Hamilton.
Speaker 1 (01:25:54):
Yeah, it's all speed.
Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
I mean he is.
Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
You're gonna have to. I mean you're gonna have to
have a Choe Hotel couple of them on your team
to make up for the lack of lack of power.
I just don't know if he's a full time regular.
I just don't know. Look at the spread on him
eighty three, as early as eighty three, as high as
two forty six. That shows you, you know, that people
are not sure what to do about him.
Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
Well, it also illustrates your team build. Okay, I'm willing
to bet that the guy that's looking at Simpson at
eighty three, he got three big home run bats and
two pitchers in his first five picks or six picks
or whatever. He's got power sewn up. Now he's trying
to scramble, okay, and he's giving it back by looking
at Simpson, whereas he should be looking at if he
(01:26:41):
built some speed into those early picks. He could be
looking for Marseilles and get ten to fifteen homes. Okay,
so yeah, and going up the list. Yeah, Luise Robert Jr.
I will not have him rostered on any of my teams. None.
So Marseide be ahead of him, Noel marche Welbe, Marty yeah,
(01:27:03):
and Butler. I could go as high on Marseille, probably
as twenty eight, twenty nine somewhere in there.
Speaker 1 (01:27:14):
Any pay us might not have a job. They seem
to hate Amy Pays at the moment with the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (01:27:19):
He slump at the end of the year.
Speaker 1 (01:27:21):
I mean, yeah, just yeah, it wasn't playing. I can't.
I can't get over Chandler Simpson. I'm sorry to me.
And that's a that's a tough one for me because
you're right, you probably took three power bats, so you
said I gotta get fifty sixty stolen bases. That's all
or nothing strategy for that one category of Chandler Simpson
gets put back to the minor leagues, and there's a
(01:27:42):
chance he will tim. I mean it is literally speed
in contact. That's is a slappy speed in contact guy.
Speaker 2 (01:27:49):
If he goes over eight, if he goes over April.
Where is he and mayor or this? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:27:54):
What if? What if? You know the Raiss side they
need more power and you know that he's just not
a complete player, which he isn't. I mean, you're totally
hosed over.
Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
Yeah, it's yeah, it's it's like back in the good
old days when you drafted one Pierre. Yeah yeah, you
knew you were getting the one home run. It was
an inside the parker and you were betting all of
putting all your eggs in the one Pierre stolen based basket.
Then I much prefer a balanced approach to every category.
Speaker 1 (01:28:26):
Oh hik, I drafted Chandler Si. I drafted Chandler Simpson
of my FPC team last season. I got him forty
forty five or something like that, and I benefited from
probably thirty eight of those forty four stolen bases. Lie,
But that was that's what you want, right, I mean,
that's like the perfect kind of you throw a dart
and it comes up. You know you win on that.
(01:28:48):
But man Chandler Simpson as your number two outfielder, Oh
my word, I don't get that.
Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
Yeah, no, no, no, no, no end once more you
it eight ap in.
Speaker 1 (01:29:01):
Here okay, and with that, Timmy have a I'm sorry
to have the layed as another ten minutes when I
got like, what.
Speaker 2 (01:29:16):
No means No, that's all I have to say.
Speaker 1 (01:29:19):
If somebody took him with the eighty third pick, oh
my gosh.
Speaker 2 (01:29:24):
Eighty third let me see, fifteen fives is seventy five
that's sixth round. Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
I hope it works out for people. And you know,
if they took him that, you're you're really expecting him
to play all season and steal seventy five bases and
pretty much carry your SOULO. That's what you're counting. Otherwise, Yeah,
it's not going to end well.
Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
Boom or bust YEP, that's a.
Speaker 1 (01:29:49):
Wrap, Tim, I will talk to you next Sunday, my friend.
Speaker 2 (01:29:53):
Yes, be safe, be well, And the only Simpson I'm
going to be watching is Bart
