School number forty five in the Navy Blue. I love
the retro throwback again. This is it. This time is
ticking away on this bad boy, so make sure you
get your shot to win this one. Welsh welcome back.
I know it was a long weekend I know you
got a case of the mondays. How are your jazz hands?
Have you rested them? Did you put them in ice
this morning? What's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Yeah? Because I danced, I was I was at a
dance competition. When we say I was at a dance competition,
it wasn't parenting. It was dancing. Little did you know that.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
I'm like, let's be honest, let's not pretend like you're
not in the aisle like you know, you know, like
in Mean Girls when Amy Poehler is like doing the
routine and the girls are on stage and you're like,
oh you girls, keep me young.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
That was me. I I was pol in this instance.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Also, you got some home runs while you were gone.
I noticed. That's good.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I think you could tell Aaron Judge.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
We had a chat on Sunday. He hit two because
Friday and Saturday he didn't have any. So we'll get
to all that, but first, let's start off with another
just brilliant performance in the headlines for TERI School. Just incredible.
I mean, the Twins stink, but I don't care. Thirteen strikeouts,
seven innings. Just give him the cy young, it's his
everybody just it's over. It's done with. I don't want
to hear it. School Ball has just been incredible. The

(02:04):
only first round grade pitcher on my draft board, Welsh.
You know, going into next season, he's going to have
probably back to back, say Young's how early do you
think Schooball is going to go in drafts in twenty
twenty five When we're sitting here, you know, next year, I.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Kind of still think he's going to be late to early,
first to second. I don't think yeah, like I know
that we're going to have any of these pitchers that
are going to jump up into the first round. It's
just it's not the thing though. You know, they're going
to be a handful of guys. Julio is probably going
to leave us, you know, from that first round range.
The back end, and this is where things could be interesting,

(02:40):
you know, the back end of the second round. I
mean it's not as sexy. It's the non stolen base guys.
You know, Duran and Merrill probably leave that range. I
don't know if Langford is there. So it's a weird
spot where if you're wanting elite now you could have
the argument of like hitting versus pitching, But if you
want elite elite players. Drake Scooble is not even arguable
one of those like he is in that conversation. So

(03:03):
I could see him going as high as maybe eight,
but I think he's going to sit in that eleven
to fourteen range like someone on the wheel is gonna be.
Like I want to Scooble, he is the most trustworthy
elite pitcher. Dude had fifteen whiffs on his change up
in this give. He had twenty two total whiffs, fifteen
on his change and his changeup, which is a sixty

(03:25):
five percent whiff rate, a fifty eight percent CSW percentage.
It's just he's he is a lead of elite. He
is the top guy a lot of us. He was
on the top board. So yeah, I think he's going
to push the limits of being the first rounder. What
I think is more interesting, though, is that I don't
think it'll be a big argument. I mean, now it's

(03:45):
still early ish in the season, but Scoogle versus Skeens,
that's probably going to go far away. Where you had
tons of instances where Skeens was going as the high
it probably more predominantly is the highest pitcher. I don't
think it's going to be close. I think it'll they
make so close, but it'll be schoobaled heavily. As number one.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
This was my whole thing about schemes going into the
arch is like the ecosystem. He pitches and is not good.
You know, it's just not a question here from game over,
we'll ever see your pitcher win MVP again. Yes, show
we Otani. So there's my answer to that.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Cheating.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Yeah, cheating, I mean it's true, but a standalone yeah,
we will. We will because they'll be downturns and offensive years.
I mean, it's one of those things people never thought
it would happen again, and then Verlander did it, right,
so you know it happens like.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Sure, But in the next twenty years, I'm not sure
we do.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
I think five and ten will get it. We might,
because you know, you just might have one of those years.
Baseball is weird like that.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I don't think we do, because the Tani is gonna
be around for a while. We've got these young we
got huge, huge stats. We got players that don't push
innings anymore, like you're gonna get a guy that's gonna
win the cy young pitching like two hundred five innings we'll.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Never see a reliever when the saiyo whin the MVP
or anything like that, like that'll.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Yeah, ganye, that stuff is done.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
That stuff is done. B D. Shout out to b
D and a ax double who just resubbed here with prime.
We appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Hearing on twitch and four and two quble xt l
C three did I hear niner.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
And the niner and I think there was a niner
in there. Aaron Judge Ye had two dingers yesterday, three runs, scored,
four RBI twelve five win over the Athletic Spencer Strider
pitched very well. Unfortunately it was against the Phillies, so
he took a loss, but another good outing for him.
I can't say the same for Sandy al Contra, and
now that they're kind of lined up, we're constantly I
feel like just comparing, you know, the the two roads diverged.

(05:38):
Inniguelo would and I. I took the one in Atlanta
and I am much better for it. Spencer Streider was
very good again. Again, maybe the strikeout total wasn't where
he wanted to be when he pitched well. Saniel Contra
gave up seven runs and ten hits and six innings
against the Diamondbacks. So well, I don't know how much
you saw of this start. I didn't get to see
any of it yesterday, but or Saturday, I should say.

(05:58):
It was another line where just when you thought you
were out of the woods, just when you thought you
were safe with Sandy al Contra, you had a winnable
matchup against the Diamondbacks, and he just imploded again. The
interesting part is that he did go a fair amount
ofhittings in this start too. But what do you do now,
because I assume the manager of Sandy al Contra is
just shook right now.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, I'm one of those. It was a really weird start,
and just everything is just so weird now that you
have the sample sizes just across the board. I looked
at this start and I was looking at the three
D pitch chart and it's bonkers how much everything was
in the zone, like everything, And when you go look
at the zone percentages, it's like the top three pitches
he threw were like seventy percent in the zone. And

(06:41):
that's not a good thing when you're trying to get
like whiffs and avoid contact. His slider left it in
the zone. His sinker high zone, slider low zone. He
threw forcing fastballs high outside of the zone. It was
the most predictable thing. He didn't have separation where you're throwing,
like you know. His changeup was kind of like it
was too much in the zone and it was hugging

(07:01):
the sides like you got to be able to mix
it up. The pitch mix looks bad, and if you
look at the movement profile, there's like a little looks
like a sonar chart on baseball savan if you look
when you look at induced break, there's just no difference
between the pitches. You're seeing the four seam fastball, the
sinker and the changeup have essentially the same movement, and

(07:21):
then his curve and slider have essentially the same movement.
There's two pieces of movement that are there. He can't
throw the four seam and then everything sits in the zone.
So what you're saying is is just like you know,
you don't you're not changing the batter's eye. The shapes
aren't good, and you're keeping it in the zone. It
looks bad for Sandy. It looks like he has to
have an overhaul, like they've got a maybe this is

(07:43):
a guy that needs to end up adding a splitter
or you know, it's got to be a big sweeper,
like and you can not gonna be addit literally was
you can't do it in season, So I don't know
what he does. The zone stuff is pretty bad and
he gets hit hard. I didn't even count it. They
get the little fire emojis on Savant when you look
looked like fourteen fifteen hard hit balls against because everything

(08:05):
was left in there. It's pretty frustrating from a fantasy
perspective because he looks like he was starting to like
get something going. Oh there's a little blip, and then
there were more blips. So I don't know what it's
gonna do with the trade value as well, because I
think the ask is probably still a little bit too
high and there's about a month of the trade deadline.
But as a fantasy owner that's with him, I'm I'm

(08:26):
gonna I mean, Diameks are a tough team. I'm going
to see how this next start goes, and then that's
when I'm gonna probably be aggressive in the trade markets
to get out from under him. Unless you really want
to bank on a team, you know, like the Mets
or the Red Sox.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Oh, I don't think the Mets can look at Sandy
al Contra as I look. Maybe the Mets thing they
can fix anybody, clearly not everyone, as we learned yesterday.
More on that in a IQ moment. I can jad Patrick.
He was very good against the Rockies, eight strikeouts of
five innings, but unfortunately another one too where did not
come out with the w However, his era is I

(09:01):
think at three five to one, the whips at one
three to two. He's got ninety three strikeouts and eighty
nine innings this year. He's right a fun fast next timeout.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
So he was an Arizona Diamondback prospect, better era than
any Diamondbacks pitcher, and they traded him away for nothing.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Good times. Eric lower, another guy who was with the
Brewers at one point, yielded three runs, seven hits, four
and a third innings and the noticiation against the Red Sox.
So I know that was a picture that we were
thinking of, like, Okay, let's tell you how he does
with his other start on the weekend, and maybe he's
a guy you want to add. Is Eric Lawer still
a guy you want to add after yesterday? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:36):
I think you know interesting because like if you were
to compare it against Chad Patrick, I've been so it
was negative about Chad Patrick, but he is held on.
Sometimes these guys very early on are just gonna, you know,
show us who they are going to be through this season.
And that was the conversation with Lauer. It was like, listen,
it's better strikeouts than it's ever been. It's lower walks
and it's ever been. His expected era is higher, but

(09:58):
it's like, STI really good. He's not giving up big
contact and he's got a good fastball. You know, like
this he's doing it again. He did this a couple
of years ago, where he'd one of the highest whift fastballs.
It's back up there twenty four percent. But the pitch
mix looks good. I think he's gonna keep picking up wins.
He has moved from like highlighted streamer to a guy
that you know probably being At this point, I'm gonna

(10:21):
legitimately say this, Joe would rather have Eric Lawer or
Zach Gallon.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Oh, Eric Lawer, I think this zero. Zach Allen has
a you AI approaching seven over the last fifteen starts,
So what are we doing here? Interesting conversation here to
Whip springs up about remaining patient with Ury Perez. That's
another guy too, returning from Tommy John in this same system.
He has not been good. The walks have been high.
Now his velocity has been good. He's still very young.

(10:47):
He's a big kid too. I want to see he's
like six seven six eight like, he's a big kid
to twenty like, and he's going to continue to grow.
I'm in keeper and dynasty. You know, you can't take
Eury Perez away from me yet, Like I'm I'm nowhere
to hear that. But if redraftner everybody's frustration, and I
can understand, you know, if if you're looking at being
a bubble team trading him for somebody that can just

(11:08):
like if you gave me Seth Lugo for Uri Perez,
I would take that trade right now and redraft just
so just so I can go and try to compete,
because I think Logo will give me more beneficial starts
the rest of season than Perez will. Do you think
that's a hot take or.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
No, that's like a hot like a hot take. It's
just you know, Ury Perez is like it hasn't well,
we're going to get into this discussion like they haven't
been horrific, they're just not super great, like and here's
a difference between that. This is the by the way,
jack Lider six innings, seven strikeouts. Don't notice him on
the sheet today?

Speaker 1 (11:40):
That is do you know what? You know? I also
because I didn't put him on the sheet the start
before that you want to go over a start before
what you want to play the jack Lider game. You
actually want to take the jack Lder game.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
But my point is this is while you go do
your thing, is that there is this discussion of like
here's like, you know, great starts, like really good starts,
here's really bad starts, and then there's these starts that
are like they're not good, they're not bad, they're kind
of just like they float between. That's to me, that's
where most of URI's have been because it's like four innings,

(12:12):
three arned runs, like you know, I know, the eras
look more inflated, but still those don't like the worst
thing and the like the worst worst. He's walking too many,
which I think that is his absolute main problem strika,
He's just he's mitting. He's mitting all over the place
right now and I don't know which lane he's going
to take. I tend to lean that really talented guys

(12:33):
that are mitting are going to go in the right direction,
you know, because like his v LO is there and stuff.
But he's coming off of like a really big injury
on just to I mean, they swept the Diamondbacks, but
like a horrible team. I tend to think like I
might hold out a little bit, and then I kind
of like the idea of him pairing two together and
trading him. I just don't think he has a lot
of trade value right now. That's the only thing.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
I mean. Look, somebody who just loves prospects or younger pitchers.
You know, there's always that one person in every league,
you know who will always just be like I want
the Yeah. In redraft, there's those guys who play dynasty
in redraft who just can't can't sever themselves from it.
I feel like those are those managers that they can't
they can't break away too hard from the fact how
much they love prospects. It hurts them the redraft. You

(13:14):
see how they draft, or you see the moves they make,
or the whole long too long to guys. By the way,
Jack lighter in the previous nine innings and the last
two starts before this weekend. I just want to point
out he had nine earned runs he gave up there so.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Was his last start.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
I don't know, but his whip is one point five
zero in his last seven games. Is that excite you?
His one point five whip No.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Five five vix innings and the seven strikeouts does do
something for me?

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Though, was count rawl even in the lineup yesterday for
the Mariners?

Speaker 2 (13:41):
I don't know, but seven strikeouts were.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Let's talk about Walker Bueller. Four runs for him in
four innings. I don't know why the Red Sox keep
rolling him out there. I can have no answer. And Lance,
but Colors, he came back and he got his ass
kicked eight runs, three and a third against the Cubs.
Cubs are a good lineup, but still that's an ass
kicking there. So Welsh was right when he told everybody
don't overspent on Lance but Colors, if you broke your
budget for him, you're probably not too thrilled right now.

(14:06):
But hopefully he gets back on track. Some transactions, Heimer
Candelario was released and the Mets signed Dicky love Lady again.
They let him go then they signed. It was a
crazy what a crazy, tumultuous week it was for Dicky
Love Lady, wasn't it Welsh?

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah, Dicky had a really weird rough and then great
week to end it. I'm glad. I'm so glad he's
in that now. They can you know, turn now. Now,
they'll turn around this now they're they're going to fix
it with Dicky Love Letty.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Let's go to the rookie. Lookie, Kyle Teal three for
four with a double. Uh. He is slashing three nineteen
four to twenty one, four to four with six run
scored and ford RBI over his first fifty seven plate appearances.
That's pretty good. Kyle Teal is floating around in seventy
percent of leagues right now. I knew the kid was
gonna hit. He's got too good of a plate discipline
and it's starting to show up a little bit. He

(14:58):
had a really good week. He was in five hundred
this week.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
We wash.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
I don't know if you saw that this past scoring weekend.
I mean, just does a really good upward trajectory for him.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
I just want to see him do something else. I
want to see them get him to first base. That
would really get me excited. He hasn't looked like he
played it.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Well, yeah, hit, They will keep you. I think that's
the secret as an it wash. You start swinging the
back go they're like, oh man, did you go play
some first base there? I want you to go DH
tonight kid. Yeah, well you're not hitting, that's a lot easier.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah, I mean, I mean, I know they can like
move these pieces around and stuff like that. And long term,
we're actually going to talk about a White Sox who
probably confirms Miguel Vargas stays at first base in the
near future, which is why you're not going to see
Teal there. He played like one inning in the outfield.
But I would just love to see Teal get a
little bit more position flexibility because that that is super hot.
But I mean to your point, oh yeah, you know,

(15:46):
like I don't know if the games are quite enough,
but like in two catcher leagues, it's phenomenal. I'm not
sure he's not like a single catcher guy yet, but
he's doing great. You're doing great.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Hunt also starting to maybe do great. Roman Anthony for
six two doubles on Saturdays. So I'm a big buye
on Roman Anthony right now everywhere I can, I think
this is the ideal time. All the deeper metrics are
good on him. He's hitting the ball hard, He's a
good player. It's just gonna again patients. Nick Kurtz took patience.
Caglion is testing the patients right now. I think he's
gonna hit out of it. The Brewers are promoting Anthony Siegler.

(16:20):
Why this is noteworthy? He is a catcher by trade,
but apparently he's also somebody who plays second base, third base.
He's got twenty steals at Triple A, slashing two seventy seven,
four sixteen, four to sixty five with seven homers. Welsh,
I don't know how much you know about this prospect
here of Siegler, but whenever in deeper leagues you get
somebody with catcher eligibility pop up, especially in those two

(16:41):
catcher leagues. I don't know how much he's gonna play
or what the plan is for him, but it just
seemed like a noteworthy guy to discuss as he's getting
his opportunity in the bigs.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Yeah, Siegler was a former Yankee, if I remember correctly,
and that's what I was gonna say it's just a
super util guy. They got a lot of those type
of players though, you know, I mean like Durbin could
technically qualify as that a guy like Joey Ortiz could
qualify at that. I'd say they found success with a
lot of those players. I don't hold out big major hopes.
Siegler's fine. I think he's a better real life player
than fantasy. I don't think there's any fantasy value out

(17:13):
of it. But you know, if he does start to
hit early on the position, flexibility is going to work
really well. I think he's a monitor. Don't do anything,
just monitor him and see if he gets the playing time,
and see where he's playing at and if that bat
flies a little bit.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Speaking of prospects, it's Monday, and you know what that means.
It's tam for prospect and with the Whales, that's when
we look down on the farm and find some names
that are important that you need to stash on your
rosters or make some moves for in Dynasty. So Welsh,
let's talk about Justin Crawford, a guy that is not
new to this show. We have discussed him in the
past so far Triple A. This season in sixty four games,

(17:50):
he's thinking three thirty five is on base percentage is
over four hundred, his ops over eight point fifty. Now, again,
power not his thing. He's only got two home runs
on the year, but he does have twenty six tolen
bases in those sixty four games. He's been caught seven times. Well,
the on base percentage is terrific. He's obviously a player
that has a lot of speed and a lot of

(18:11):
ability to get on base. How does he fit potentially
here for the Phillies or is this the piece that
they move to try to bring in some bullpen help,
maybe a Doron or a Batista in the month ahead.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
I definitely don't think they move on Now. There is
a guy we're going to talk about in here that
I think, you know, could get moved in a piece
and that could make them even more valuable. I don't
think Crawford's the one that they end up moving, simply
because I think he's he's a version of like an
outfield Jacob Wilson, And you know, it's kind of on

(18:44):
display here where you can see he's not big homers,
but his batting average is like crazy. He's a you know,
more of a across the body type of hitter, makes
tons of contact. This past month in June, he's walked
more than he's struck out, and he strikes out like
more than Jacob Wilson. He steals more basis blah blah blah.
But in Junior hit three forty four had a four

(19:04):
to thirty four obp ridiculous. But he only had five
double six total extra base hits of his thirty during
that time. So that's where the Jacob Wilson kind of
comes in. Last month, hit three seventy eight ridiculous. Last month,
strikeouts are a little bit more heavy, but he had
a little bit more in the extra base field. What
I think is happening, and I think this team ends

(19:25):
up doing, is they're going to make a move that
clear space for Justin Crawford in another direction, because I
think defensively, you're great. He's a different type of piece
that you can get out there. Put him at the
top of the order. He walks a bunch. You kind
of have those issues with, you know, stotting them. I
don't know. I think at this point in his career
he's probably a nine hitter that you put on there.
But he's one of those devastating ones. I just think

(19:46):
we're at the point where it's like, how much longer
can they keep him down there? You know, it's almost
three hundred at bats, he's almost hitting three forty. It's
really I mean, you got you got to try him out.
And he's not in the futures game roster, which I
think sometimes is telling as well for players that maybe
declined or teams don't want them to do it, because
if you look at the numbers, those numbers are justified

(20:07):
as a guy that would be there. But he's already
been there before. I don't think team wants him to
do it. I think he's up pretty soon. Maybe he's
picked up. He's an absolute instant points League guy. You're
looking for stolen basin average, which plenty of you are
I would be looking. I think the clock is on
for Justin Crawford, where we were just speculating before.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
All Right, a prospect for the New York Yankees got
moved up there to Triple A recently, and it's Spencer Jones,
a guy that you know, there was a lot of
hype around Spencer Jones. He's a big kid, six seven,
two forty. I've seen him. Look over the last two
plus years at Double A, I've seen him probably take
about twenty or so at bats, Like I've been to

(20:46):
a bunch of summers of Patriot games and I've watched him,
and I've seen him have games where he's hit home runs,
and I've seen him have games where he struck out
four times and didn't touch the ball. To me, the
strikeouns are still an issue now. This year in Double
A he slashed two seventy four, three eighty nine to
five ninety four, nine to eighty four ops. He had
sixteen homers and thirty two RBI in forty nine games.
So clearly it was time for a new challenge. So

(21:07):
he conquered Double A. And last year, just for you know, understanding,
his OPS was seven eighty nine last year and he
had seventeen home runs in one hundred and twenty four games.
So this year, having sixteen in almost a third of
the amount of games tells you, all right, he's done here.
He's conquered Triple A. And maybe he's one of these
guys too who's a little bit slower to the adjustments. However,
he is twenty four years old now at Triple a

(21:29):
so we'll see how he flies again. He's only had
three games there so far. He has had two home
runs in those three games, so that is of note,
I would say. But with Spencer Jones, another guy has
massive strikeout potential built in already, you know, kicked in there.
We know the powers big, know the strikeouts are big.
The question is why don't you see Spencer Jones' path

(21:49):
to the big leagues.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
So this is the one that I think there. I
think there is the possibility that maybe he could be
the trade piece and that could open up some stuff
at like where does he fit currently? Like you've already
got you know, Domingas, and you've got some strikeout problems
that are out there, but Spencer Jones is playing at
a level where this team could look to offset all
of that aside. It was said in our live chat,

(22:12):
I am a Spencer Jones guy. Have always been a
Spencer Jones guy, for better for worse. He is hated
kind of mostly in most circles in like the fantasy
ranking range because of his strikeouts, and it is a
huge problem. And that's not going away, unfortunately. That's still there.
That's always going to be there. But what's now counteracting
it and he is, you know, a little bit older.
He was a twenty four year old at Double A,

(22:34):
which doesn't really compute, but he's not on Triple A.
Is that things have finally started connecting. Because if you
look like a month ago, a month ago, the guy
was hitting around two thirty two forty, but things started
to click. He changed to using a torpedo bat early
on in this year. He's found his swing, he's found
his rhythm. Looking back on this, on April twelfth, he

(22:54):
was hitting two thirty one. April twenty ninth, he was
hitting two thirty one. May third, he was hitting two
twenty eight. The only reason I'm saying all that stuff
is he left hitting over two seventy. He left hitting
over two seventy in Double A. Over the last month,
combined with Double A and Triple A, he's hitting almost
three twenty with a four hundred OBP and nine home
runs in the month of June. So Spencer Jones is

(23:18):
a huge, massive impact bat of great power. Is six
foot seven, as you can see on the screen two
forty on the MLB Pipeline page. Plus he can steal bases.
The strikeouts are a problem, but maybe we have some
type of fix in play. Torpedo bats in play here.
I am a big Spencer Jones guy for big loud stats.
If the strikeouts are fixed a little bit, which we

(23:40):
have seen. Ellie had a thirty plus percent like minor
league strikeout raid for a while. So if we can
fix some of this with a torpedo bat, his stats
could be huge. And maybe he's also a trade piece
that hopefully doesn't go to, you know, a really bad ballpark.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Next guy on the list Colson Montgomery here of the
White Sox shortstop here by trade. I'm all surprised he
made this list. Fifty three games at Triple A this year,
he's hitting just two twenty Welsh. I know he's got
eleven home runs and all the White Sox I have nothing
to lose by pushing prospects, But why Montgomery at this juncture?
What makes him worthy to discuss and prospecting?

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Yeah, that's a good question because the season has been really,
really bad, so much so he looked like he was
a guy that was going to break camp with the team.
That was the thought. Everything was such a mess. They
put him on the developmental list, and the developmental list
is sending him down to complex so he can end
up retooling something. Pitchers will do that to multiple guys

(24:35):
have this year have done it where they're you know,
retooling maybe the rotation or a certain type of pitch.
It's time off. They did that with his swing because
they didn't like what was going on with the swing,
so he did all of that. He's popped back, got
back into the game. He was hitting under two hundred
at the start of June. He's pushed his average in
the month of June though, up to two eighty one,

(24:56):
and I think that's the important thing because there were
some significant changes that needed to be had. He has
four homers in his last four games, both were multi
hit games, strikeouts starting to cool a little bit around
a three P forty OVP with that two to eighty
one batting average. They just don't want him to be
down there for so long. And there is their space

(25:16):
open on the infield. Like I said, Miguel Vargas could
go over to first base full time. Never have to
move around. Colston Montgomery is your third baseman. He is
a tremendous athlete. He can run, He has big homers
of watch him for a couple of years now. If
we he showed some great signs on the Arizona Fall
League that he's gonna stop chasing, which was his problem,
but then his swing got all jacked up. If you

(25:39):
take that chase rate going away, if you take this
new swing, and you take the recent success. This is
about recent success where he's up his batting average about
forty to fifty points over this month and hitting two
eighty alone. That if he's fixed, we should say Coulson
Montgomery pretty soon, and you might want to speculate because
he could get a pretaty decent spot in that lineup
for the White Sox.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
All right, Quinn Matthews has unfortunately gotten off to a
bad start in twenty twenty five due to injury last
year in twenty twenty four. One of the best pitchers
in the minor leagues and one of my personal favorites
that I was very very in on going into this
season in terms of dynasty keeper league stashing and even
redraft too, because I thought there'd be some opportunities in
this Cardinals rotation. So Gwinn Matthews is back and healthy,

(26:21):
So how are things going for the young lefty these days.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
It's been consistency. That's the big thing that we're looking at.
And he's still not quite there because he had an
outing in this not his most recent for the one
before that, where he'd given up five earned runs, But
if you didn't count that one, he has had almost
ten innings of no earned run ball ten strikeouts. Walks
are still a little bit of a problem, but in

(26:45):
some of the chaos, he's still put up a two
three five ERA in the month of May, a three
to three to two ERA this month, so he's put
a couple of really good ones together. Whip was high
this month, it wasn't last month. It is just consistency,
and I think you're going to throw him out here
pretty soon. You know, we're not only talking about above
every single week. There's not a ton of other pitching

(27:06):
prospects that we're really really waiting on. Quinn Matthews is
the one that we all thought would have been up
a long time ago, and I do believe we're going
to see Quinn here in the near future. Stack one
more good start, and I think the Cardinals might get
him up here relatively soon. Things are looking more consistent
over the last two months out, you know, Sam's one
starter or two. But again, the theme here outside of

(27:28):
Justin Crawford has been guys that have had some big
struggles that have really found the rhythm and we should
be seeing here in the very near future and maybe
you guys can speculate on them.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Just want to say I'm a little disappointing you Welsh
that Cam Schlittler did not make the list this week,
just because I want to start selling shirts to say
the Schlitzler's full and I think we can make a
lot of money on that and put.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
You on Randy Quaid's face. I like it.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Yeah, there you go. So maybe next week on prospect
and with the Welsh, tune in next week the YouTube

(28:11):
Little rumor mill action for you here, just the Astros
apparently kicking the tires on Cedric Mullens. So now we're
gonna get to the point where the Orioles blood letting
is going to beginning very quickly. That should be fun.
Also fun facts. Auto Lopez was at shortstop and is
hitting four to forty eight with two homers and thirteen
rbi over his last seven days. You're just leading off,

(28:34):
just something interesting. Little hot streak here for Auto Lopez,
a guy that was hot earlier in the year in April,
and you know, people may be overspent a little bit,
but you know, kind of a kind of a good
last seven games at least for Auto Lopez. More Solo
Zuna the opposite. He struck out all four times against
the Phillis yesterday. He has been stone cold. Well. She
was on the trade video a couple of weeks ago

(28:54):
when he was still hitting, and we took some comments
in there in the YouTube that were saying, what are
you doing, Why are you trading him? He looks great,
blah blah blah. This is why we were saying what
we were saying. So I do think he will be better,
and if he's not, then he's il bound. It's one
of the two.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Well, he was also like real life trade bound. If
with all those trade rumors that were going on out there,
it looked like he was being offered up across the board.
So you know that Marcelo Zuno was involved in stuff.
So I'm not sure that that even ends either. And
maybe the Braves are looking for a little bit extra
help because they see the riding on the wall. But yeah,
I don't I don't love what I'm seeing out of Azuna.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
I don't know if they could trade him with the
hip issue, I don't know. I feel they couldn't.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
They didn't trade him.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
I mean like that, it's like you're kind of up
against it right now. Ups and downs can tell. Marte
hit his seventeenth home run on Sunday, so a really
good game for him, and also a three run home
run on Saturday, so Welsh is flying up that home
run board. Corey Seeger also another guy we told you
to buy on Principal last week and if you did
before the weekend, well you'd done good. Because he had
a game time to run Homer in the tenth on

(30:01):
Sunday wasn't enough for the Rangers, but also two walks
to run Homer on Saturday as well, so he is
getting real hot on No Cruiz. His fourteenth to fifteenth
homers on Sunday as well against the Mets, as they
beat the crap out of Frankie Montas his dad for
six runs and four innings and the downs Frankie Montas,
I knew it. I knew it's too good to be
true that first start. I knew it a field in
my bones. Kelly Jansen blue his first save of the year,

(30:22):
and Louis Severino, unfortunately things have not gone well for
him seven run, six earned. I mean, all the strides
he made the last year with the Mets seem to
all have just been completely obliterated this year. I don't
know how. I don't know why it happened so quickly,
but he did.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
I mean, I'm going to take a wild guest here.
Maybe it's the minor league ballpark that he pitches in
pitching for the Athletics. He was pitching Yankee Stadium this weekend,
wasn't he But I'm saying as a general statement, like, wow,
if you're talking about that game, I'm talking about in general,
like why is it not being good? Like maybe that
has something to do with it. Maybe a splits at
Homer amazing.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
Maybe I don't know, we'd have to look at them.
I traded away Lawrence Butler, Luis Robert and Andrew Abbott
and a fifth and seventh for Logan Webb Kyle Tucker
at a twelfth and thirteenth. I think you did pretty well.
I mean, Butler and Robert have done nothing. Andrew Abbott
is solid, but he's not Logan web Kyle Tucker is

(31:13):
a first round talent and you got two more picks.
I think this is a great trade. What do you think?

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Well, that's I think it's an embarrassing trade for the
other person.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
So yes, we like tovirate.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Luis Severino has a three two three road Era six
point seventy nine horn Era, so maybe we uncovered the problem.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Yeah, Burns and Crochet Tonight. By the way, too, is
bed Bos out here in the chat. That's going to
be exciting. Also, here's another one, Willia Damas or Mason Win.
I mean going Willie Adamas there.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Yeah, it Win's been fine. I just like I'm blindly
and stupidly still thinking like adamis is going to turn
it around Buster and then believe the two rounds very close.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
He will, he will Todd the jackass Welsh. Any players
you're especially excited to see in the futures game. Don't
give him many because we're gonna do again next week
Futures Special like we did last year. We're gonna do
MLB Draft Special. So just give him a teeth. Give
him one guy that you're exciting.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
I mean I I did only like one glance over
out of it. I mean, I'd say he's just Moday
is going to be there. He should be. I believe
the young.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
That's the one. That's it. See, I could tell you're
already gonna one o one other. No, no, no, I
said one. And that's the rules, because then you just
give away all the all the milk. Okay, Jesus give
them the milk away.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Jesus made. Jesusjus made.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
Is the one Jesus made is pretty good. Gotta love
that guy, White Sox. Let's start with them with the injuries.
Louise Robert Tindel hamstring, Marcus Stroman came back. I mean
he wasn't great, but he wasn't awful. I guess is
Marcus Stroman he is. He's not the answer if you're
the Yankees, He's just not. And I don't know what

(32:53):
do you have? One strikeout? I think of five innings
or something. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
He was very proud that he returned so quick from injury,
but you know, I'm.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Sure he's he No one is more proud of Marcus
Stroman than Marcus Stroman at any given time for anything.
Your Nolvarez on field batting practice on Sunday, so I
guess that's a positive. Josh Naylor was out, that's a negative.
And that seasoned series finale, excuse me of the Diamondback
series there the next issue keeping him out. Bryce Harper
with the risk could return at some point early next week,

(33:21):
so that'll be interesting to see if he comes back
before the All Star break. Kerry Carpenter was removed last night.
We'll get you an update on that with a hamstring issue.
Tyler Glass now, they say he's going to make two
more starts before returning to the Dodger rotation, So that
means post All Star break probably is when you're gonna
get Tyler Glass now and Welsh, it appears that our
favorite rehab friend Brandon Woodruff, well, he made a rehab start.

(33:44):
He allowed four runs on four hits, three and two
thirds innings at Triple A. That wasn't too great of
a start, now was it. Brandon, feels like you're not
really taking rehab seriously enough. Perhaps we have to make
you stay in rehab, perhaps just a little bit longer.
Maybe Brandon, you should stay all year in rehab because
it doesn't look like you figured things out, not quite yet. No, no, no,

(34:07):
Let's have another rehab start next week and see how
that goes. Sound good, buddy, here's the laugh.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
If he didn't do the laugh, he's the point of
doing the bit.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Yeah, there is no point without the laugh. That brings
us to the best bets of the day with Joey
p and the Welsh, I'm gonna go with the Athletics
on the money line plus one sixty four. Jacob Lobez
has been great. I know Rasbisen has two for the Rays,
but I'm gonna ride this Jacob Lobez wave as long
as I can. The last three starts he's been fantastic.

(34:38):
Whatever's click for him has and I'm gonna take the
shot plus money upset special. Let's go straight up money line, baby.
How about the San Francisco Giants with Logan Webb on
the mound at plus money plus one fourteen on the
run line minus one and a half against Welsh's Diamondbacks
with Nelson, especially if Nailor's out of this lineup too,
keep a close eye on that. If so, again, now
is the time to bet that before it moves even more.

(35:00):
And I think Kyle Schwarber against Waldron and the San
Diego Padres today, give me Schwarber to drive in a
run plus one twenty at home, Welsh, where are your
bets lying today?

Speaker 2 (35:10):
On Monday, I'm also going to go against the Diamondbacks.
I'm gonna take a little bit of a different route
than yours. I don't hate it, though. I'm gonna go
with the Giants through the first five winning. So that
is where the run line is, and that minus point
five means they're just up by a run. The Giants
are up by one run through the first five. Ryan

(35:30):
Nelson versus Logan Web. Logan Web is lockdown. Ryan Nelson
hasn't been horrific, but an expected ra of over four,
I think the Giants will get up early and I'm
going to take the first five for the Giants as
my bet. I'm also going to go with Boston Cincinnati
first five under three and a half runs. Typically you're
looking for four and a half, but you got Garat

(35:52):
Crochet and you got Chase Burns. Chase Burns, I think
the first run through the lineup is still going to
be devastating, that slider fastball combination, and a little bit
worried when it gets to that fourth or fifth. But
you know, we got a no risk it for the biscuit.
So plus one fourteen this is plus money under three
and a half runs. Chase Burns was almost unhittable early

(36:12):
on and then had that error. Crochet is they're not
getting to Crochet, so I would like that one. And
then I'm gonna go with the Texas money line minus
one oh six, backing Spider Man himself, mister Patrick Corbin.
So those are my best bets of the day.

Because it is and the redesign, I was going to
be fantastic too, very excited about that happening this year.
Let's get to the home run board and see where

(37:10):
things are at. Now I know I'm not on it.
Blonkey is on this bad Boy at twenty nine, George
at thirty six, Whips is at thirty two, Marty's at
thirty one, Positive Grouch at thirty one as well, and
then a big drop off there. You have the rest
of the folks at thirty one, and then twenty five
is the bar. Now I don't know where I'm at
right now, but Wels, you've got to be at what

(37:31):
twenty two.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
Two or twenty three has got to be the number one?
Did you not get any since I've been gone?

Speaker 1 (37:37):
I got two from a judge yes on the week.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
So we should be tied. I think you and I
should be.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Welsh is at twenty three, so I think I'm at
twenty two. I think I'm still behind one because you
got a bunch like you took Beatel Marte and he's
just been hitting home runs. I'm at twenty one to
two behind you, so I'm four a way very tricky
right now. So I got to be real careful again.
Sammy sos a Jersey on the line. I want to
get on that board, right but I got a month.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
You got like one month today.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
One month today to get on the board. Kyle Schwarber,
let's go plus two twenty. That's where I'm going today.
Let me get at least ty Welsh get two home
runs today. Welsh, where are you going for your home run?

Speaker 2 (38:13):
You will not be tying me. It's the last day
of June. It's a Schwarberfest, Joe and I with Kyle Schwarber.
Last day Schwarberfest. He's got to get us two.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
All right. There you have it, everybody. By the way,
I snuck in to the playoffs, had a commanding victory
last week against our boss Blaine. Had another commanding victory
this week, so I did make the playoffs, So that
is very exciting. We are very much looking forward to that.
I don't know if I faced Wonky Penguin first, or
how this works. She gets to choose her opponent. I

(38:45):
don't know if she chose yet. I haven't looked in
our feed. Did you miss the playoffs or did you
win on some funky tiebreaker? What happened?

Speaker 2 (38:50):
I secured a substantial raise for next season by leading
the playoffs and letting the president of the company move
on to the next So I secured a nice promotion
for next season.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
That's good. That's probably the smarter route, That's what you
should have done. But I'm gonna try to win. I
want to win that belt. I want to go to
the meeting next year, and I want to win that belt.
I'm sick and tired of, you know, the non baseball
people win that.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Carroll killed me at the last I had him right
at the end. Losing Carroll was pretty detrimental to my
team those last couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
So sounds like a documentary about your seat. Losing Carol
starring the Welsh a year with so much promise.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
They went from the world where Carol and Welsh to
Carol missing in action.
