Fantasy Pros MLB. Welsh, I missed a lot controversy yesterday
with the Emmanuel class a business. I was thinking that,
you know, just down a conversation with our producers before
(00:49):
the show too, you know, maybe change it up. Bet
on some strikes once in a while too, so maybe
they don't catch you, you know, just it's the criminal
mind of myself works a little different than I guess
some other people in their twenties.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Maybe don't bet. There's like another crazy thing like maybe
contract legally bet. But everybody wants the edge. Everybody wants
that edge. And unfortunately we'll see what the extent of
the class things. We talked about it kind of at
length yesterday. But I think there's a very decent likelihood
we could have seen the very last of emmanual class
(01:23):
A in baseball, just based on historical.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
And he's not the only no police Ortiz.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
And then apparently this report from Hector Gomez, if there's
other guardians that are floating out there, it's just all
really messy. And all of these guys based on the magnitude,
based on the prior history with tu Coimpeter Marcano and whatnot,
it does seem like there's a higher than not possibility.
What is that stupid guy? You know what I hate?
(01:49):
The saying I hate is non zero chance. I think
that is the dumbest saying on the planet.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
It sounds like a Welsh is it does.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
It sounds like a super but it's super stupid, Like
are inherently stupid, but they're fun. That one's not fun
and massively stupid. I hate that saying, and I just
said it.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
I also did not get to throw the two cents
in there yesterday on the passing of a legend, Ryan Samberg,
who in my youth, I mean, I was the guy
that experienced them. Joe Rico did not Welsh maybe at
the tail end, but I remember as a kid watching
on a Saturday afternoon in June him hit those two
home runs against the Cubs in that ninth and tenth inning,
and I remember we were like going somewhere and I
(02:29):
was waiting. I was like, no, I want to watch this.
I want to watch this, and we're trying to get
ready to go. I was like, no, this guy's up again.
And he hit a home run last time, and then
it hits another home run. I remember it vividly, and
I was eighty four, so I was like six years old,
and I totally recall this, and he was my guy.
He was my favorite second basement of my youth. Loved Rhino.
Very sad news yesterday that you know, he passes away
from cancer and you know, sixty five or I think
(02:51):
it's a young age. I think, you know, but again
I'm old nol so I think.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Wait, no, no, no, I think it's what I'm seeing all
these videos that are out there. By the way, my
I think now we're just on me complaining. It's the
complain line. I am over those unk videos. Every sport
is now talking to twenty year olds. What's an unk
to you? You know what that the saying is like
uncle like that everybody's an uncle. And these guys are
(03:15):
not like they're not like forty five. They're all like,
if you're twenty seven or over, you're an unk. And
it's just like, my god, like I feel old between
that hate and then you see just you know, great
people dying young. There's definitely like a mortality thing where
we're just like, let's stop that. Let's definitely stop it. Yes,
(03:36):
all of it.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yes, Well, I'd like to move on to better news.
We're not certainly not life and death, but we're not
rond Akunya. That's the headline today to start the show.
We placed the ten day iel with Achilles tightness. Now
they're saying it was something from the calf. That's the
report that I saw right before I came in here.
MLB Network was talking about and they hope that he
comes back in two to three weeks. But this is
(03:57):
a very frustrating year for Aldaicunya. For sure, waited on
him to come back. He came back later than expected.
He was great when he came back, and then slowed
down a little bit around the break, and now this
other injury. So look, I think we all know that
they're not going to push him. So it could be
three weeks, could be four weeks. Who knows where it goes.
But I think the bigger question to ask ourselves is
next year, when we've had a whole offseason, will roald
(04:20):
akunyill be right back in that top three overall conversation?
Where do you think he's more of a mid to
late first round pick in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
That's a good question. I think the only thing that
keeps him, like really truly off of it is if
this injury is a lot worse than we expect, because,
like he he was instantly upset, they instantly put him
on the il. Part of the problem though, is the management,
because they said he did this the day before and
then they let him play out there. He wanted to
play because of the time missed, so he pushed through.
(04:50):
But this strain or whatever happened the day before, so
the decision making.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Well, Snicker's done anyway, he cars.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
They're on a level of like, you know, Tory Leavello
management right now, so like it's all not good. So
taking that into just how you know they've used him.
If this injury is more serious and it you know,
misses the rest of the season, yeah, I think like
we're going to get some consideration into that. Everybody is
looking at these players like what what is the moment
(05:17):
a player becomes injury prone? I think Ronald Acuna is
straddling that line, except he's doing the du Gram trout thing.
He's amazing when he's not, so it kind of defies
some of those odds. If he's out for two or
three weeks, I think everybody's just gonna move past it.
He'll be a top five eight first round pick, could
be a first round pick next year.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Well yeah, first round. It's just I was like, this
is the guy that's when you're moving from a forty
seventy season, All right, so does he do we all
have more time and then we come back and we go, oh, yeah,
we should just put him right there, or do you
think he's more of a well he's the number seven
or eight overall, you know, he's just splitting my hairs.
But when you're in the first round, I mean, that's
that's important.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
He just might be that in general though he might
be like the seventh or eighth pick. But yeah, like
I think if it's just a couple of weeks and
he's back, I think everyone will forget about it. By
the way, I have a league where I was like,
all right, I'm making the move. I was in seven,
sixth place. It's a keeper league. I've got some really
good pieces. I have way too many first basemens. So
(06:16):
I made a move. I traded away Harper to get
I mean, I got Lindor in the trade, and I
was going for closer and a pitcher. It was a
big trade when my team was centered around Ronald lacunya.
And I am not joking you. The minute I hit
accept on the trade, it was like three minutes later
Ronald d'acunya to the eel and I was like, you
gotta be kidding me. I'm trying to trying to make moves.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Baseball. It is a fickle mistress. Michael Impo shout out
resubbed with Prime of course you can subb with Prime.
Get rid of those nasty commercials right now. Chief Knockaholma
had a question here. It was a good one. I
think it was important and I was trying to find it here.
Serious question. How do we tell if we're a peanut
or a cracker jack? I think you know, I think
you know which one you are.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Yeah, we don't. We're not going to identify you.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
You You're not here to identify you. You identify however,
this program. That's right, all right, let's get to some
Yankee updates here. Aaron Boone said that Aaron Judge will
ramp up baseball activities over the next couple of days.
So he's hoping to return in August fifth, So that's
pretty soon. That's next week, that's Tuesday. Are you buying that?
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yeah, that falls in line exactly with what they're saying.
They said he's going to d h he's going to
be a minimal amount of time. He didn't really want
to miss the time, So yeah, I don't think he's
gonna I don't know if he'll see the field at
all this year, probably dependent on what they end up
doing with some of their moves or if they decide
to bring up Spencer Jones. But yeah, one hundred percent
by this he will be He will be back when
(07:43):
Joe is gone. Unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
All right, let's get to some pitching performances yesterday, some
really important ones. Let's start with Sandy Alcntra, who was great.
Twelve innings now in a row, no runs, he punched
out four guys, went five innings again, another scoreless out
for him. He's done everything he can to get dealt
And I think if you're a team trying to make
that move, I think you go ahead and you pull
the trigger and you hope for the best. I heard
(08:08):
somebody equate it to Justin Verlander years ago too, where
he wasn't pitching well that year and then he got
traded and then the switch kind of flipped for him.
I could see that with Sandy put him in a
pennant race too. You know, he's been much better here
as we go, But this was another really strong start.
So is this the last start? It's the last time
I'll get to asked this question of Sandy al Contra
is a Marlin in twenty twenty five?
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yeah, I mean, that's that's like the big key here,
because I think there's a lot of points to this.
I think it was Jim Bowden that was saying that
the Marlins viewed him and are viewing him in the
space of like, this is Cy Young caliber Sandyo Contra.
That's obviously they're going to do that like with trades,
but also that they feel that they had found something,
(08:49):
they had found that fix in what Sandy was needing.
So I agree with this. I've said it on here.
I did this exact same thing in Fantasy where someone
was trying to get out Contra super Low, and I said,
you know what, I'm not I'm gonna wait and see
if this pans out up until the trade deadline. He
fixes some stuff and he has his villo was up
again in this start. I thought that last start his
villa was up and oh it's my final one. He
(09:10):
did it again. He's inducing like weak contact in general.
His change up he threw it close to twenty percent
of the time, like the pitches look good. He's found
his rhythm again. So to answer your question, now, I'm
not sold. Even though Bowden did come out yesterday and
change his tune of thinking that he wouldn't get traded
(09:31):
to now that the it's ramping up that Sandy would
get traded. I think it comes back to one thing,
and it is who is going to pay the piper
for him? Because they can easily just hold him until
the off season, and then he got a full season
in front. You still have all the contractual stuff that
he still has some you know's arbitrational that they could
(09:52):
wait for the big package and just have two months
of him being awesome and sell him as an absolute
star unless someone is willing to hey up. And that's
what I'm uncertain about. I will say this based on
the chatter, I do think he does get traded. I
think someone's going to give up, like, you know, probably
two big prospects for it that we're gonna have a
little bit of eye opening. So I do think this
(10:14):
will be his last one. But I will not be
shocked if they hold him back and they only trade
Edward Cabrera because they want the world and there seems
to be a lot of pitchers on the market right now,
way more than their what everyone was like, Oh, Seth
Lugo's signed, it doesn't matter. Mitch Keller, Ceestyle there.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Joe Rownok. I think it was tenuous and now we're
getting to that point where everyone's full of crap, Like
everyone's like, oh no, they're not available, not availab because
they're trying to drive up the price, the same anouns
as every year. P five zebby or pickup Sandy, Pick
up Sandy, pickup Sandy.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
It's not Sandy.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Man can all right? Nicko Lodolo eleven strikeouts for him
against the Dodgers. Man, what a great start for him.
E ra is down to three oh nine. Hazus Lozardo
was fantastic yesterday. It was against the White Sox, but
two hits, seven innings, shut out by Lucas. Giolito continues
to be a whole different guy. I mean, what an
incredible turnaround to a season. While there's been a while
(11:06):
since you've seen a pitcher be that bad where I
thought he was gonna get dfaid, and all of a
sudden he's become the most reliable guy they have arguably
that rotation, but outside of Crochet of course. But Crazy
struck out five one run six innings and went over
the Twins Seth Lugo the aforementioned eighth victory of the
season on Tuesday, so good for him. In five and
two thirds and Luis Severino with the rare good home start,
(11:29):
six strikeouts and five innings for him. Do you think
that Severino could be another guy maybe on the move.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
I think they would love to get him out of there,
but I don't think he will. He's got like sixty
million dollars or whatever.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
He wants to get.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
He wants to get the hell out of it, but
they want him the hell out of there. I think
it's mutual. There was a report like all he does
is just talk about how awful Sacramento is, So like, yeah,
I think they want him out. I don't think he does.
Two important notes, going back to the other guys, we
really can give some credit to when you hear about
changes in season instead of being just dismissive by the
(12:00):
and just being like you know, when Gei Alito when
they found something in his fastball, which is funny by
the way, because his fastball is still like a two
eighty five average against. But you know, the Villo ticked
back up when they when he said he found something
in his delivery in his fastball, and that fixed things,
and you saw the return. You saw him bounce back,
Like you gotta believe it like he does look like
a vintage gi Alito. And then on Lozardo, there's a
(12:22):
report out there that there's the potential that the Phillies
might look at moving Lizardo into the bullpen the rest
of the way through. So that wouldn't I would obviously
be you know, horrific for fantasy value. Pay attention to it.
That could be something where Painter comes up if they
want you know, Lozardo to cap innings or really whatever
the reason is going to be. I think they're going
(12:43):
to still make some moves. But if Lazard goes to
the bullpen, absolutely that's brtal.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Well, I just found out one of my bets of
the day. It just got crushed because Adriane Hauser got
scratched from his start. So my guess is Adrine Hawser's
on the move yere they can pretend he's not. So
it looks like Austin slatter All also got dealt to
the Yankees. Another blockbuster for the New York Yankees. Also
in case you have Garrett Crochet, well, he's not gonna
start Friday's getting pushed to Monday or Tuesday. They're trying
(13:10):
to save the save the arm a little bit. Tyler
Glassnell not his best work. Last time he saw him,
he was striking out everybody. This time he was walking everybody. Five.
Just didn't have it against the Reds, and that happens.
So I'm not going to overdo it. But I am
concerned about Casey May, so let's talk about him. He's
dealing with a knee issue against your Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Two runs, one, earned, three hits, three walks in an
(13:31):
inning to third. I can only assume he came out
early here because this knee is giving him a problem. Well,
I think we're looking at an eye Elstin probably for that.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
I don't know if it was a knee. I was
watching this game. There were two things. It was Ay
he could not stop walking. Guys they were talking about
on the broadcast. You know, he's like a two walk
per nine guy. He walked three through into the first
two innings. But the problem was was the pitch count.
He was fifty nine pitches and he didn't get out
of the second. It was like twenty something in the first.
He pushed thirty. It sucks when that happens. It doesn't
(14:02):
have to be injury related. It's just these managers, if
you get a guy that's over thirty inning, thirty pitches
in an inning, they're going to get you out of there.
And he didn't have any It didn't look like he
was getting out of it anytime soon, so that's why
they ended up pulling him. But he looked super inconsistent.
Stuff was all over the zone. He was walking guys
left and right, diamondbacks were taken everything. And then, by
(14:22):
the way, then they absolutely just blew the game. I mean,
as soon as Mies was out, they fought. Brandon Fott's
another one. I just wanted to throw out super interesting.
I don't remember who said it a couple of weeks back,
but Fought had changed from throwing his forcing fastball to
throwing the cutter, and he's seen a lot of success
from it, and it looked really good early on, and
(14:46):
it all fell apart, like it always does with him.
He just got battered around. Homer's was kind of going
back to the forcing fastball, a little bit change up
are the cutter stopped cutting. It was not good. And
Brandon Fought looked dominant through three innings and then just
look absolute trash once you got into the fourth, fifth,
(15:07):
and they got obliterated. So both those pictures were not good.
But there is some injury concerned with Casey miis and
maybe the bigger questions maybe that injury with the knee
or whatever was why his command was bad, why the
pitches got really deep up, and maybe he does need
another stint.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
All right, transactions very sad. I hate it when my
Richard Fitz gets sent down and they did it again.
You know, every time they bring them up, I get
all excited and then they send him back down and
it's very frustrating for me. Also even more depressing than
that he could believe it. Rich Hill was designated for assignment.
What was one and done? One Night's dandy? Here is
(15:43):
that what we're doing. This is a couple of weeks
here in the big leagues and get out of here.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Old I just did him a favor, just like here's
another team you get to play for and you're forty five.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
And I wanted my son to just like Goldberg's retirement match,
just wanted my son to be able to really watch.
It was the highest level.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah, it was kind kind of like the Kimberl thing.
Remember Kimberl came up for like one game and then
immediately designated him. Yeah, it was just like a favorite.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
What is this so sad? It was terrible. It is
elder Richel. You are brave. It is elder Absolutely Wonkey
Penguins says. Someone said richelships for the Rockies to break
a time with it when Jackson to approve their pitching
staff significantly. I agree, but seriously, I mean those two transactions.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Do you think Rachel has like all his jerseys in
like a room.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
He should you know what he should? He should have
a quilt made. Would be a you know, a nice
giant quilt of all the jersey.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
I mean, he is old. He was probably cold a lot,
so you get Oh god, I love a good quote
a quilt.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
The blood flow issues, it's another schnve. You know.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
It really grinds my ears. Why are old people so cool?
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Good snark and I go ahead, do it? Are old people?
Speaker 2 (16:54):
I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
There's more battling.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Why there's old people so old and cold?
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Get out of here. God, Wonkey peng with grandma made
what was my T shirt? Quilts? Of course she did.
You're from Minnesota. Come on, jeez, it's like a so
you learned that in school in Minnesota. All right, let's
go to Joe Boyle. Let's start with the rookie. Look here,
six runs for or not the best start for Joe Boyle.
(17:18):
Show people cut bait or hold.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
I think he's in stream territory. I don't know if
he's a must hold. I think you could for another
start because of strikeout potential. But if there's nice stuff
out there, then I might might cut bait.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
I know you're not from Minnesota, Wonky. I just like
saying it because I know it always talked about. No,
she's not from Minnesota. She likes certain teams from different places.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
With your address, give us your address, please.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Yeah, don't put your address on I like Wonkey's gonna
be all right. JJ Weatherhold Cardo's prospect lead off on
run three RBI. You're gonna see him soon. Stash him.
He's coming, He's coming soon. Stash him Weatherhold really nice player,
great hit tool, Spencer. Joe's made it back into the lineup.
I mean, who knows what the Yankees are gonna do here,
because it's not gonna matter because we're gonna get Aaron
Judge coming back.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
They got Austin, so they don't need Spencer Jones now.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Right, yeah, now you don't need yeah, great, ooh la
lah and Pirates prospect short Stoup Connor Griffin was named
the top prospect in Baseball America and MLB Pipeline. You've
heard Welsh talk about him a couple of weeks, say,
and he's slashing three thirty two, four O nine five,
twenty thirteen homers, forty six deals, forty six and eighty
(18:29):
three games between low and high A. So you're not
gonna see him next year probably it's probably still another
year away. Right, we're talking about twenty seven, which means
we're not gonna see him because it's going to be
a strike once.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Yeah, well that's actually a good point. But fun fact,
he became my number one prospect about two months ago,
so everybody joined in as the well actually, I would
also say I had noted that he would. He was
going to be the default once Roman Anthony and Jack cagleone,
but I had him as number one. I believe Fangrafts
has Kevin McGonagall. So there's two prospects. There are similar
(19:00):
ish timelines. McGonagall is like one level above. Some like McGonagall,
some like Connor Griffin. Conor Griffin is an absolute beast
shortstop that could play outfield athletic. You can see he
steals bases like crazy, body got bigger, He's hitting homers,
doesn't strike out a bunch of averg I mean, he
literally is five tool. He does everything right now. He's
(19:20):
electric and we won't see him because I think you will.
There's a decent chance he could come to the Fall League.
Then he's going to be probably pushing double A next year,
and then right when it's time for him to come up,
it'll be work stoppage.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Work.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
You know, the potential work stoppage has a decent effect
on what prospects could come up next year. For better
or worse, we could see more aggressive call ups for
prospects because everyone knows there's going to be a work
stoppage of twenty twenty seven. Or it could just I
don't know if it'll destroy or just go into hyper
drive all these prospects. But if you're speculating on guys
(19:56):
that are a little bit further away, Connor Griffin, that's
your number one one. He is number one in most outlets,
with a little sprinkle of Kevin McGonagall in some spots.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Okay, let's get to some more rumors floating around a
lot here. Dylan Cees apparently is the main target for
the Astros, which I don't really don't understand because they
have those pitching coming back, so it being to me,
you're looking for offense, So I don't get this one
like that. It's not that Dylan Sans can't help you,
but it's.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Not good coming back.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
I don't know. Spencer Ogetti's pretty good, Javier could be good,
Garcia could be good. I mean, Garcia's been a pretty
solid guy throughout his tenure there, So I don't know.
I just that one was puzzling to me. And this
is even more puzzling that Ken Rosenthal said that the
Ragers are buyers and sellers at the deadline, so a Doulas, Garcia,
John Gray, but they're also acquiring people.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
I don't know what that usually means, like sell off,
sell off like one year rental guys and then buy
for next season type of thing. Or Okay, the Diamondbacks
have been playing that stupid little thing too, where they're like, ooh,
all we want is relief pitchers that can help us
right now, and it's like you're not competing, you stink.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Okay, out of it.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Rangers are there. I think they are buyers. I don't
think they're I don't think they're going to sell anything
of worth.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Okay, Uh, let's move on to the next rumors. Even
Kwan is now more likely to be traded obviously after
all this stuff going on with the Guardians, so great
way to get rid of like ther only other good player.
Way to go Guardians the only that's.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Why they're getting him out of here, like allegedly.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
I guess, hey, this guy won't play ball, Get out
of here, Kwan.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
You've also got Mitch Keller apparently now not getting traded.
So here those a of this pirates stuff. So now
they don't want to trade Mitch Keller. And apparently David
Bednar is gonna cost a top five prospect.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
I just traded it for Keller. Please trade him.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
This is why the Pirates are the pirates. This is why. So,
I mean, what are you doing? Just take what they
give you, move on, start rebuilding. You've got the best
pitcher in baseball and the best prospect in baseball. You're
all young and controllable. Here for the next couple of years,
Let's go, like, you know, get some more major league
ready pieces so that everybody can be more compet next year.
(22:00):
I don't understand this at all.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
I think this is I think this is just like
a day and a half before the deadline, make people,
or actually it's a day, but make people think that
you're not going to move the guy, you know, threaten
that you're going to keep them, so they pay the
really high price. But I will go back to the
problem with a guy like Mitch Kelly right now is
we went from what seemed like a small market to
(22:22):
a flooded market of potential relief pitchers and starting pitchers.
So now it's we got to have the seal be broken,
got things gotta go. We got to see a guy
get traded a cease of Merrill Kelly Again, Gallon and
Kelly should be the first ones that should kind of
help set the market for this controllable pitching that's available
in Alcntra and Keller and Joe Ryan versus this rental
(22:44):
market of the Gallons and Kelly's. So I think there's
just too much out there right now. I think this
is posturing. But you know what pirates at this point
have shown the mental fortitude that maybe they won't move
any of their guys and they'll just go into next
year with the same team and try to, you know,
win fifty.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Thanks Lucira's for resebbing with Prime. We appreciate you. And
I know our producer Seth is a big Cardinals fan.
He was talking to the chat Please let leather hold
be good. Look, he's gonna be really good player. Is
he a guy you're going to I don't know. Is
he like the franchise that? I don't know, But I
think he's going to be a really solid player. It's
just a matter of what else can you put around him,
you know what I mean? Like I never thought Trey
(23:22):
Turner was a franchise player. I just didn't. You know,
Bryce Harper, that's a franchise player. A fun fact yesterday,
It is not the first time it's happened, but Sir
Anthony Deminguez was one of the few guys in Major
League Baseball to get traded in between a doubleheader and
then go play for the other team. You got to
love when that happens. Just hilarious, so awkward, right, That's
just like the most awkward thing could you imagine if
(23:43):
like we were doing a show and then like you got,
you know, moved to some other show right in the
middle of it, Like.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
We almost be like live. You'd have to be like
live streaming with it. We'd have to have like, you know,
Frank stamfull on and then it would be like I
was just traded to CBS. Like that would make it
like super awkward. But I know it's I know what
you're saying. I have more of it happens tomorrow. I
hope with thee the Diamondbacks didn't want to are the
Tigers with the rumored with the Swarz. They wanted to
get a deal done and not let Swarz leave town.
(24:11):
So teams, I always say, it's weird when teams are
trading for players that they're playing. It's so odd.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
Big Gene wants to know, do we have stream likes
in for football? Also? Is Nelson from the d Backs legit?
Answer these second one? First, well you take the Nelson,
I'll take the football.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Yeah, he's at like near the tippy top of a
lot of the pitchers. Everyone keeps talking about like do
I pick up Yes, I think so? Is he legit?
I mean this team is decimating themselves, so it's not
gonna be great when all they have is Corbyn Carolyn Cattel.
That's still good, but there might be some lack of
offensive support. There might be some weird defensive stuff. But yeah,
I think Nelson is a great spot starter to a
(24:44):
guy that you should hold right now because he's not
going anywhere.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Well, we do have a lot of football content here
on Twitch, also in our YouTube channel. So we just
did Fantasy Draft Court yesterday. Go check it out as
a live show. Really fun, Derek Brown, myself, Terrell Furman
debating players. So obviously our YouTube channel, Fantasy Pros, tons
of today, tons, a lot of Q and A. What
are you doing today?
Speaker 2 (25:03):
We're doing a Hot Takes with hot sauce and wings.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Oh that's right. Is that live late?
Speaker 2 (25:10):
No, it's not live. It's going to be later today.
So a good point.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
We have the live so you're gonna do that and
then our Q and A after the Q.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
We scheduled it for the last show. It'll be out
in the next couple To Joe's point, we do fun stuff.
We do a lot of fun stuff. There is not
this level of show on the football side. Yeah, so
there might be next year.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Yeah, but we do have football five days a week here,
so check it out. Look at it right on top
of it that Monday four pm Easter Tuesday, Wednesday two
pm Eastern, Thursday Friday five pm Eastern. Again, we've got
everybody in there, Q and A. So we're just hanging
out talking ball man. So again, subscribe. This is what
we're here for. We're here to help you win every
single fantasy league, doesn't matter what it is. All right,
(25:54):
somebody's asking me what my shirt is I'm wearing. This
is a Jason Kelsey shirt. That's the way. There you go.
He autographed himself and gave it to me.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Pretty cool. Are you just wearing speedos with that?
Speaker 1 (26:05):
I am? I am because it's hot here in New Jersey.
I know it's not Arizona hot, but it's hot.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
The wildest collection everyone gives me, like, I mean, because
I haven't been wearing my hats a lot because, as mentioned,
my dog literally ate all of my hats. Your shirt
collection is so eclectic and weird, and it's just like
you have a why do you have a Jason Kelse shirt? Y?
Speaker 1 (26:25):
I love Jason Kelsey. Why have a Budjet Jackson. Why
because he's cool. First of all, he's a great place
so cool he was. He's a cool guy. He's a
cool guy. He's a good dude, he's a good dad.
He's he has got moral fiber. I like that about him.
Hell of a football player. Always loved him as a
football player. When he dressed up like a Mummer in
that giant outfit when they won the Super Bowl the
first time, that put it over the top for me.
(26:47):
It was an It's the stupid parade that they do
in Philadelphia every single year on New Year's Day. It's
part of the Philadelphia tradition, the Mummers Parade, where they
dress up in these wild, colorful outfits and there's a
big parade and it's hilarious because most of them are
guys from like the local you know, VFW in American
(27:07):
Legion Hall. It's the weirdest, like secret society thing. My
friend's ex wife is a Mummer, so his kids are
half mummer. I told him so that that's a tough
way for them to grow up partially mumbering.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
I don't know, but I trust am.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Do you really don't know about the Mummers parade. You've
never heard of this? Please chat if you heard of
the Mummers parade. I know you know who's heard of it.
Wonky Penguin's heard of it because she's got multiple quilts.
She knows it's crazy. Though. They do these big parade.
Then they have like the Fancy Brigade it's called, and
it's weird because it's a bunch of guys who look
like they're electricians union and they're like dressed up in
these outfits and they're doing choreography and stuff. It's so bizarre.
(27:45):
It's so bizarre. But he, you know, wore that that
Remember that outfit when when they won and he was
speaking of city Hall and you had that weird hat
and whole thing. You remember this Jason Kelsey thing.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
But not the one I'm familiar with.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
All right? Can we get some love for the Mummers yet?
Why I'm not love because they're creepy, but whatever. All right,
let's get to the ups and downs of Vine pas
Quentino three for five with a homer, Riley Green three
for five with a homer, and Andrew Vaughan can't be stopped
with a trade, you know, the Errandsavali deal was like
a whatever, let's just you know, headache for headaches scenario.
And Andrew Vaughan three for four with another homer six
(28:19):
RBIs dude crazy?
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Do you believe that, like just some people truly need
changes of scenery, Like, like, I think there's an element
of change of scenery gets wrapped in to players that
just need time. Like if if Joe Dell was traded
this year, everyone had been like, oh, it needed to
change the scenery for his breakout. Not necessarily, but like,
(28:41):
do you think sometimes guys just truly need to be
unleashed to somewhere else and their mindset needs to change sometimes.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Yes, sometimes it's also a new voice. And have you
seen the breakdown on Andrew Vaughan's swing. His hands used
to be much higher. Now they're just in a different
spot where he's already starting with them back and he's
getting quicker to the baseball. I mean, sometimes it's just
an adjustment of a different coach saying why are you
doing that?
Speaker 2 (29:03):
You know what's so weird about that too? This camp
during spring training, I spent a decent amount of time
at the White Sox when I was going out to camps,
and I saw Jim Tomay is a coach for the
White Sox and he was doing I have a video
of it, and I think I tweeted about it. He
was doing this wild drill with Joey Gallo at the
time and Andrew Vaughn, and it was like they were
they were up and they were at an angle and
(29:26):
they were like trying to attack down. It seemed like
a super worthless drill. And the more I think about
it now, maybe it's a testament to Jim Tomay that
it's like Joey Gallo literally quit and became a pitcher
after doing that drill, and Andrew vaugh became the worst
player in baseball needed to leave. So it might truly
be coaching and maybe pinpointing the coach that the problem's.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
At Big Gen knows about the Mummers. He has been
to the Mummers parade. There you go always New Year's Day, always,
So maybe.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Are you getting paid on every Mummer? Mentioned?
Speaker 1 (29:54):
I don't get paid by the Mummer. No one does. Okay,
but it is a very bizarre I told you it's
a very bizarre like thing. Downs Yesterday, Logan Evans six runs,
but he this drake out seven guys four and two third,
but still not great. Colin Ray lost to the Braves
four runs, eight hits for him, obviously he's not the
Braves of Brewers. And then Brandon fought. There you go,
knocked around the ballpark yet again. Seven runs, eleven hits,
(30:17):
four and two thirds. Welsh, how'd that make you feel?
Speaker 2 (30:19):
No, it's awful. I told you. I watched it like
I was watching the beginning. I was like, oh my gosh,
this cutter looks great, like he really is. He's to
be able to command it, and it's giving him a
different look on right you know, or left hand, even
lefties because he's throwing it in and then just all
fell apart. It's been his problem since day one. He
cannot go deep into games. The Homers are going deep,
so I don't know what the hell they do. He
(30:39):
needs to keep working on this stuff, but he got obliterated.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
In that game. I like some of these. Jose Batista
drop your favorite change of scenery guy where things really
just clicked for a player. I like that. This is
a fun one if you could remember a good change
of scenery aspect. Let's get to injuries, you know, Welsh,
we almost made it a full season without Byron Bucks
and going to the IL. But here we are Byron
Buxton ten Dail left ribcage inflammation. Jacob Wilson also heads
(31:06):
to the IO with a fracture fore arm, which all
but seals up. I think the Nick Kurtz Rookie of
the year depending on how he plays him the next
couple of weeks. But I imagine it's Kurtzy.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
Unless Cam Smith pulls a Nick Kurtz for the next
like a month and a half and Kurts disappears. But
I don't. I don't think that's happening.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Sammy Sosa also left the White Sox. That's right, that's
a big change of scenery and also a change of
vitamins as well. Ian happ shin contusion is gonna go
on the IL and Mois's Ballasteros will be called up.
Ten Or Scott has resumed throwing. By the way, have
you watched JP BROSI lately on MLB Network because I
(31:43):
find it so annoying that he he over pronounces all
the Spanish names, like, oh, obviously, you know what I mean,
because he's he's obviously taken language classes and I know
he learned to speak Italian when they were doing it
in Spanish.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
I can't all. But like when they say, like Ronald
kun is bit, I can't. I can't roll my tongue
or do anything.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Yeah, but he just talks normal. Then he says Robert
Sarez Yeah yeah, yeah, And I'm just like, what are
you doing?
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Stop?
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Don't do that? Stop it? Okay, just stop snart Jackson
four for the day. Just call them what they are.
You're not Spanish. You're not allowed to say it like that.
It sounds awkward and I don't like it. It does
because it's out of nowhere.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
It's like they're totally they're like, oh no, you know,
and it's just like.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
And I don't mind it when it's Spanish speaking person
does it. But like JP Brosi's doing it. You know,
I understand, like your natural tongue. Okay, cool, but stop it,
stop it? What are you doing? Jackson Churio was removed yesterday.
Right hamstring spasm. Keep an eye on that one. Louis
Heel struck out seven, one run, four and a third
in My League rehab start triple A, Kyle Bradish three
and two thirds, shutout innings and double A in his
(32:50):
start yesterday, Shane Bieber struck out seven, one run four innings,
so he's looking really good for double A achron butto
double A betrayed not so good. Hunter Green four runs
two and third innings in triple A. And then Michael
King looks to start his rehab start this weekend for Alpaso.
So maybe that's part of the Dylan c s equation too.
We can move Dylan Ce's for an outfielder. Would you
(33:10):
move Durand to left? Can you do that?
Speaker 2 (33:13):
You're saying if they were to get Dylan, if they
were to trade Seas for Duran.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Well, I'm just saying, like the Padres aren't out of it,
like Durand for Seas sounds like a pretty like, oh,
a deal that helps everybody.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Oh, one hundred percent. I think they're considering. I think
they'll trade Robert Swarrez because they have probably the best
bullpen in baseball. Adrian Morian Moron has been one of
the absolute best. Jason Adam is out there, and I
think you've got like a serviceable starting rotation that you
could take what you have now, replace Cease with Michael King,
and then those parts that you get for cees make
(33:47):
everything better, and that's what Jaron Duran would do offensively.
So absolutely I think.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Blonkey for the win here. David Ortiz a great one though.
He was pretty good at Minnesota. Not where I'm from though,
and uh yeah, Zach Wheeler totally changes. He Zach Wheeler
would have like one great start out of every four
and he'd be like, why can't he be good all
the time? And then he goes to Philadelphia and he's just.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Great, Like tell Martate was like that. He was the
most mediocre he was and then he was a little
made there.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
That's another good one. All right, Let's get to more injuries.
Wan so Doo's X rays were negative on the foot,
so chances are he'll d H today. Christian moore rehab
assignment has begun. Jerry Pania over to in his rehab assignment.
That's good news for the Astros. And Grayson rod Nriguez
isn't getting a second opinion, He's getting multiple opinions on
(34:35):
his MRI Welsh.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
Mummers of opinions, just a parade of opinion walking around
like you're not healthy, You're not healthy?
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Did you google Google the mummers right now? I want
you to google a Mummers parade and see what.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
We're talking about.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Yeahs, it's how you think it is.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
That's okay, that's how I spelled it here, all right.
The images, Yeah, I mean it looks like it looks
I mean, this looks like they're in Rio Dejian Arrow.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Well then, but yeah, but it's Philadelphia. It's Rio de
jan area.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
That's what I'm saying. That's what's what I'm saying. I mean,
I know it's not.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
That's what it is. It's like we're in Carnival. That's
where are fun.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
I'm not that level of fun.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
So like that fun now, yeah, definitely not. All right,
let's get to our best bets of the day with
Joey p and the Welsh. Let's go to Boston Red
Sox on the money Line plus one twelve today. Brian
Bao has been really solid on the mound against Zebbie
Matthews today and the Minnesota Twins. But no Pirron Bucks
in that lineup, so I'm gonna take advantage of that.
(35:31):
Then the Chicago White Sox, Now it was supposed to
be Hauser, so now you can scratch this because now
it's change. It's not happening. Literally, he got pulled during
the show, So just x that out. I've only got
two bets for you today, and instead we're gonna go
to naity of all these seven strikeouts plus one forty
eight against the Los Angeles Angels of Amaheim, Welsh, where
are you going for your best bets today?
Speaker 2 (35:51):
You know yesterday, by the way, when I had the reins,
I just absolutely killed the best bets of the day.
I just went into bets. I'm just done. No no
like happy, go lucky, like best bets of the day.
I murdered that thing. So it's out, but you brought
it right back. You brought it back to life. My
bets for the day, I'm going with over first five
runs in the Mets and the Padres game. You Darvis
(36:13):
has not been good, so I want five runs through
the first five. You got Clay Holmes and you Darvish
goings one twenty five for over on the first five.
We're going with the Nerfy Nerfy's have not been hitting.
But Texas and the Angels no run first inning. This
is back in Jose Soriano and Evaldi. That's pretty juice
s up here, but it's a good play and then
I'm gonna go PCA Pete Crow Armstrong over one and
(36:35):
a half total bases. It is nice, old, big fun
plus money at plus one thirty. Those are my best
bets of the day.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
Place your bets over on FanDuel. Bet five bucks, get
two fifteen bonus bets. Win your first bet hits only

bets smarter. That not Hart there, that's what you wanted
(37:04):
to do, all right. Let's get to home run calls
and oh, Cody Bellinger today plus three seventy. That's mine
Walkee at thirty six, George Whips tied at forty four
at the top of her home run board. Welsh for
the Sammy Sosa jersey on the line, Where are you
going with your home run call today? And of course
kylleg Schwarber had a home run yesterday and I called
him the day before, so he can suck it all right,
(37:24):
Get out, get out, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Schwarber, Jeffrey Springs at home doesn't work. So I'm gonna
go back to Kyle Raley. I'm gonna go with a
nice cheap one. So Kyle Ray, Kyle Rally for me.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
That's a pretty good cheap one there. And yeah, I
lived in Philly with the college in Philly, and I
lived there a couple of years. So I'm well. I
lived in South Philadelphia for about six months. I lived
right across you know, it's like one of those like
I think it was second in Emily Street. I think
this is where it was classic South Philly neighborhood. And
this mom used to always, like every afternoon, her son
Kyle would be out in the streets playing and scream me, Kyle,
(37:56):
what are you doing? Kyle? Come back in, Kyle, get
in the house right now. What are you doing? Am
I God? Kyle? I swear to God. I gotta go
to Waha Wah. I got a million things to do,
just just to have a coke and sit down in
a sit down a stoop, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
I awed, I want to go. I've never been on
the East coast. Tennessee is the only place on the
east coast I've ever really gone. If you've been considered
that Tennessee is not the East coast, I know, but
that's what I'm saying, Like the furthest east I've been
is Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Uh, this is the fathest from home I've ever been.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
But I was thinking about this last night. I've talked
about this a lot because in a past life I
used to do a lot of event planning and I
totally someday want us to do I want us to
do a fantasy pros event. I think that would be killer,
all of us in a venue and whatever. And I
was thinking about, like, where do you do it? I
live in such a different world on the West coast
because we're these big states and it's like, you know,
(38:49):
five six hours you want to travel to a new state.
But we would have to be on the East coast.
We'd have to be somewhere near you because like it
seems like there's like twenty states that are within three
hours of each other that you can get So we
could cover the most ground if we were somewhere on
the East coast doing.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
We don't know where our next trip is going to be,
so perhaps it will be East coast. I mean, I
doubt it in February. No one's gonna want to be
in the cold. But what are you gonna do? Yeah,
Welsh has.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
Never seen I've seen snow that does.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
No Christmas movies, nothing for him. All right, that'll do
it for us here, But the story of the game
goes on for the Welsh. I'm Joey P. We'll see
you next time. Kids.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
