Grays jersey, Welsh crazy weekend of baseball, A lot to
talk about prospecting with the Welsh rookies are up, the

(00:48):
Mets are in first place. Let's just jump into it here.
Let's start with the Red Sox beating the crap out
of the Yankees last night. Oh boy, that was uh
it was midnight for uh Yarborough this week end for
Rodin as well. But yesterday Narvaia's Campbell Dever's story All
going yard Yesterday, Dobbins gets a victory. Judge does hit

(01:09):
two home runs twenty second and twenty third, respectively, but
a rough night, which probably Rodn was due for. But
Yankee Stadium the gift that keeps on giving home runs,
isn't it always always does?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
My friend, I am shocked that you didn't have Aaron
Judge for the weekend home run call. That's your usual
home run call too.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
By the way, I.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Went SODO for the weekend. Yeah, on Bay six times,
and I still can't possibly get a home run on
the weekend. It wouldn't have mattered if I had two,
I still would have been off the board. You had
two for the next guy we're going to talk about,
Van Rod shout out to just three hundred bits there
and resubbed if you haven't already resubb here. That way

(01:49):
you get rid of those nasty commercials the Mets. Remember
when everyone was panicking about the Mets two weeks ago
and I wasn't, which is odd because as a Mets
Van usually by June relevant anyway, But I was fine.
Phillies were three and a half games up two weeks later.
Now the Mets are three and a half games up.
A wonderful weekend in Colorado that was very enjoyable. Tyler

(02:11):
the Terrible pitched very well. Two runs, five innings. Jeff
mc neil Homer twice, your boy, Pete Alonzo Homer twice.
But despite those home runs, well you're still not on
the board. What's going on our penus and cracker Jacks
going crazy this weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
It's like the steroid era all over again. It's just
Homer's left and right. It's a tough contest. It's a
very tough contest of people tough like the Mets. The
Mets have definitely been this big core piece. I think
it's going to be very interesting within the next six
weeks when teams start actively making moves trying to keep face.
The Phillies, I think are massively tough. Part of the
reason they're down has been Hayes's Lozardo's absolute implosion. But

(02:48):
you know, on the surface, it's it's a great offense,
it's a decent bullpen, it's a really good starting rotation.
You know, it'd be interesting to see if they have
to make any moves, as would a team like the Mets,
kind of keeping pace here.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Yeah, a lot of moves are gonna be made shortly here.
Some teams I think are starting to really understand where
they are and some surprising too, teams like Atlanta. We're
gonna get to that closer situation and Strider a little
later in the show. But first I want to pop
George Kirby. If you bought low on George Kirby this week,
you've done good, a career high fourteen strikeouts yesterday and
seven innings to run Baseball Welsh. You stood by your man,

(03:22):
George Kirby, and it's a good thing you did. He
it was not good in his return so far this year.
This was a killer performance. You got to take the
victory lap here on George Kirby. That was really something.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah, I mean just a good player. You know, a
good player has a little bit of struggle. It's gonna
be the same idea if like Spencer, Strider turns it
back around and you know, it's like these massively talented players,
if they're going through a rough patch and there's maybe
some early connections like it was with an injury with Kirby, Yeah,
maybe it's not time to quite give up on them.
But Also it's a tall tale sign of like why

(03:54):
you would want to buy on him. He is doing
interesting stuff though, fourteen strikeouts in this last one, gave
up almost no hard hits. He's a command savant, but
he's just like scrapping that splitter. He went fastball, slider, sinker.
That was ninety the three percent.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Of his usage.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
That's not usually a Kirby thing, but he was pounding
the zone. He had eight whiffs on his.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Fastball, so he's at fastball, was.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Just going nuts. His slider had a forty five percent
whiff rate. He was in and out of the zone.
You know, he got these guys flying, and.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
You know Kirby's is in his head a little bit.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Sometimes he does it's really like I don't want to
walk anybody. And then he's at it and he's always tinkering.
Every year there's a new pitch. Looks like he's getting
back to basics a little bit. Massive strikeouts and you're
buying opportunity. Definitely just kind of.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Ended, all right. One more pitching note to get to
Paul Skeens just can't buy a win. Seven to two thirds,
one run, no earned, no decision, I mean struck out seven.
It's just it would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.
But watching Paul Skeens pitch on the Pirates is almost depressing.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
How many whns do you think he'll have before we do?
How many wins do you think's gonna happen?

Speaker 1 (05:02):
How many does he have now? Because we got about
what like eighteen stars left for?

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Is it like three?

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Hold on?

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Let me look here.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
The question is does he break double digit wins? That's
the question.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
He has four six losses?

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Okay, your call.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I think he can get to ten.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
So we said it it like we should should said
it like when's.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
The last guy that won ten games and won the
cy Young though that had to go back to Felix
Hernandez right with the Mariners when they were terrible, and
that was the one year where we finally said no,
wins don't matter anymore. Felix Hernandez is the So how
many wins did he have? I don't know. Somebody in
the check go look at.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Us to figure out.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Let's talk about Spencer Schreider. Now, I watched a good
chunk of this start off really well and then a
lot of weird luck. Four runs, three earned three hits
six innings of work. He looked gangbusters in the first inning,
and I'm just saying, like, from what I saw, I
think I'm I'm starting to feel like he's starting to
pick things up a little bit. Now. I see Jerry

(06:03):
here in the chat saying I was offered Ian hap
for Strider, should accept absolutely not. Strider has Colorado this week.
I want that start against Colorado. That to me is
the proven ground confidence builder. The bullpen sucks, the braves
are miserable, the manager's gonna get fired any minute now.
I'm telling you that's coming. Snicker is not making it
out of this. I'm telling you right now. Acunia already
hates him. There's a big divide in that locker room.

(06:24):
He's done. But Spencer Strider, I don't think is And
I accepted that big trade over the weekend that I
was contemplating because I wanted to see what he did
in that Colorado start, and I was optimistic about San Francisco.
You Streemski at a ball that just hugged the line
that fell in there, Albis made an error and all
of a sudden that inning kind of unraveled on them
a little bit. But what I saw to Strider was

(06:46):
a guy that was starting to get better, and I
just feel like, from what I've seen from Alcantra, I'm
not confident. I haven't seen McClanahan. You know, I'm terrified
he doesn't pitch it all this year. I look at
Strider as the I come back from Tommy John, who
might have come back a little too soon, And maybe
that's unfair. Maybe all of us were putting a little

(07:07):
bit too much on him too quickly, and I think
as the season goes on, he might start to turn
things around. Now. I know some of the metrics might
lie to me a little bit about this, but from
what I saw with my eyes, I was encouraged. Now
let's see what he brings to Colorado. What are your
thoughts on what you saw a Strider this weekend.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I get what you're saying, like we put too much
on him.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
You got re hurt, like you got re hurt, and
maybe that's the thing that we always need to keep
back in mind.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
But he, like the reason was not an arm injury
with a leg thing, so he's a preward leg pitcher.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Well, but that's why it's like, do you really like
you're going to push against him is the leg, the
thing that held him back, the injury from last year
obviously carrying over. But there's some like I don't know
where I'm at with it right now, because like immensely
talented players like Spencer Strider are going to come with
incredibly high expectations no matter what.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
So did we put too much on him? Now?

Speaker 2 (07:55):
It's just like the gamble, the bet that we made
has not paid off, And the.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Question is.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
This a long term bet that can pay off or
do you need to get out? And that's where I
haven't quite come to terms with. His fastball is just down.
He maxed at ninety six point five. That's not where
he was maxing last year. He was sitting ninety six
point three last season. He threw his slider only twenty
four percent of the time in this last start, and
he still got away with it. He's struggling throwing strikes,

(08:23):
his fastball is not as dominant, and.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
He's a two pitch pitcher.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
But he's so talented. I'm not sure I'm ready to
be like, oh, he can't bounce back. Just we talked
about it last week. His stuff numbers are down. I
think it's too short of a sample size to say
that that's sticky. So I tend to be someone that
would probably try to buy ish on the low. But
it's going to probably be really tough for him to
be a top ten pitcher the rest of the season,

(08:46):
which his normal output is top ten pitcher, if that
fastball is going to be like this all year. So
encourage good that you saw some encouraging signs. He got
tons of you know, whifts in this one. But his
slide he's just not throwing that slider for strike and
that's going to have to change soon and I think
it can.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Yeah, I think so too. Now, look, other things that
are changing Atlanta are the uh, the guy who is
going to be pitching the night think Glecias is not
going to be that guy. Uh, some combination of Maybe
iglecius will get another look. But Dylan Lee, Pierce Johnson,
Aaron Bummer, Del Santos is back. There to be Camber
a complete cluster.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
They cut after the first outing.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
You're just you know how they.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Were mucking around with him in the first place. I
don't know, But I don't like any of these guys Welsh,
do you Is there is there a front runner for you.
To me, this is a complete mess.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
I mean I think especially yeah, Dylan Lee, I think
has been the best. I think Bummer's kind of been
in that role before. I guess I would probably speculate
on Dylan Lee at this point.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
But it's bad.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
They've got to make a move. There's another team that's
got to go out there and make a move on.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
When your closer's last name is Bummer, that kind of
tells you how the season's gone for you, if you're
the Atlanta Bras, which I love to see U. I
take to see Corburn Burns missing all of this year and,
let's be honest, most of next year. So Corbyn birds
one year into his six year, two hundred and ten
million dollar deal, Well, he's gonna take some time off.
It's Tommy John, it's the dreaded second Opinion. Well, this

(10:08):
news came down Friday afternoon. I just want to get
your thoughts, feelings, emotions about this as we press on
without Corbyn Burns now in fantasy. I can't say that
we're surprised. I thought last year at the second half
he looked like he wore down to me a little bit.
Something seemed off to me, so I'm not surprised by
this news, but certainly a huge loss here for the Diamondbacks,

(10:31):
not just this season but also next season too, especially
with the way Gallen has not performed. More on that later.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yeah, I can't share my text thread with Bogman publicly
or really to any human being, because it was it's
a brutal blow. It it will be, and like I
know it's too much to be like, well, the done book,
season's over, but that it's the pin, it's the piece.
It'll be the round zero of why this season is
completely done and they should be trading off some pieces.

(10:58):
And I think teams are going to be calling on
the Diamondbacks for players like Josh Naylor, who's in a
one year Gallon who's going to be a free agent.
That's why I've kind of talked about it before. But
those guys are going to be getting called on, and
the Diamondbacks are obviously trying to hold on, but I
think they just lost a red series, so it's unfortunate.
And Ryan Nelson stunk too, by the way, in his
last out.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
He's the replacement you mentioned. Naylor was not a piece
that I thought about necessarily. What if the Red Sox
came knocking for Nailor and decided they were actually in
this thing. What a fit he would be in.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
That if they decided to not go and move Jaron
Duran or something like them, and they got a lot
of lefties in that lineup, but one hundred percent if
they're looking for a first basement and they can't, you know, work.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
For maybe Duran, for Naylor and just bring up Roman Anthony.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Well that wouldn't happen because Durant's got three years of
control and Naylor's a free agent, so it would have
to be something completely different. But to your point, like
I think the Red Sox could go come a call in,
I think the Diamondbacks are going to have to come
to terms with it. I'm now wondering if the Diamondbacks
would be comfortable being the team that opens the floodgates
of the trade market. Last year it was maybe this

(12:03):
was kind of the Marlins with the luist a Rise trade,
but then we had like a period we just haven't
had any of those.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
We haven't had one single one.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Because of the expanded playoffs. Everybody's still like, well, we're
gonna hang on see how it goes and and some
of the teams are in the bottom She just don't
have a lot of like the Rockies don't have a
lot of interesting pieces unfortunately.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
No.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Yeah, well, in the diamondbacksho by the way, they have
like one of the biggest payrolls in baseball. It's like
a top eight payroll.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
For the White Sox to deal off Robert, but he
has struggled. So that's a hard serious question from Lee
g rest of the season Bibby or Lugo? Who would
rather have?

Speaker 2 (12:31):
My immediate reaction is Bibby, but both have not been great.
Bibby's under for era right now? God his strikeout? Where
have the strikeouts gone? Where have all the cowboys and
strikeouts gone? Just completely done it?

Speaker 1 (12:46):
What happened to her? Where'd she go? She had one song?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Who was that again?

Speaker 1 (12:49):
That was you know? That was Paula Cole. She had
two songs. That's not fair. She had I don't want
to wait for our lives to be over? And then
she had where have all the cowboys gone?

Speaker 2 (12:58):
What was her first one?

Speaker 1 (13:00):
I don't want to wait for a lot over the
Dawson's Creek opening.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Probably that's all you need.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
You need one hit, and then it is a theme
song and a show and you're set for life.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Every day, every day? Yeah, do we get? Do we
get that? I haven't seen it zero? All right, some
transactions to be aware of. Spencer Turnbull got the call
for the Blue Jays, interesting only because Bowden France's stinks,
so I wonder if Turnbull's gonna get a shot here. Also,
Ian Seymour was called up over the weekend too. Probably

(13:34):
gonna put you out of the bullpen, but I just
thought it was kind of interesting that they called him up.
Let's see how things go. Let's just keep an eye out, rookie, lookie.
It was a good weekend for the rookies. Kyle Teal
off to a really good start. He had a bunch
of walks and a bunch of hits, so great to
see him up. Caglione had his hits yesterday. Ryan Ritter
got called up when Tovar went to the Ayah, which

(13:54):
we kind of mentioned what happened last week and it did. Uh.
And then Kate Horton allowed four runs and five so
not the best outing from him. I want to ask
you about another prospect too, Andrew Golden of the Nationals
twenty six year old nineteen minor league games coming back
from the oblique injury, slashing two eighty eight, three ninety five,
seventy six with five homers, nineteen ribies for triple A.

(14:16):
So apparently he's gonna get Andrew Golden. Excuse me, was
reporting that Andre's Chaparo. Sorry, I misread that.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Andrew Golden. I was about to have one of those moments.
Gold I don't know who Andrew Golden is.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
That's me. It's a brain fart. I just I was
reading through it. And Andrew Golden was the Post reporter
about Andres Chaparro. So I just I had this lexic
moment for forgive me Chaparo. Let's talk about him for
a second. Twenty six years old, a little bit older.
Sometimes we see these twenty six year old, twenty seven
year old guys like Elco, you know, kind of you know,
fizzle out when they finally get the call. Is Chaparo

(14:50):
somebody that people should be paying attention to in deeper leagues?

Speaker 2 (14:53):
I don't think so Chapparo's been up. I think he
risen with the Yankees and the Diamondbacks. It's somebody that
could get the small run. But like if I'm if
I'm speculating with the Nationals. We've talked about him a
couple of times. Brady House would be the player on
the infield that I'd be speculating on. He's in triple
A japaro is I think going to just be like

(15:16):
a simple placeholder. Numbers are good, but this is a
quad A player as nicely as I can say a
quad A type of player. Some could argue even like
auto kimps and stuff could be, but Brady House would
be the guy I would speculate next time with the Nationals.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Okay, here's another one. I just got Julio for Strider
from Michael. What side of that deal you like?

Speaker 3 (15:36):
Then I would go on that one.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
I feel like I might regret that. Here's the interesting
Logan web versus the Dodgers or Strider versus Colorado this week.
I mean, I have to start Logan Webb because he's
been so good, but the more big curiosity is definitely there.
One more rookie lookie note to discuss too, Nick Kurtz
two for three with a two run homer, three ribies
on Saturday. He should be activated today, So keep that

(15:59):
in mind for your and speaking of the youngins, it's
time everybody, it's time for prospecting with the Welsh. That's right,
It's the time every week where we sit down with
the Walsh. He shows us some of them youngins that
are coming through Major League Baseball that are gonna make
a big ola impact. And we got to start with
a guy Roman Anthony right now. Some of the stashes

(16:20):
here that you want to get. Look how he's not up,
I don't know. He had a four hundred and ninety
foot home run yesterday. Roman Anthony's ready. The question is
what are the Red Sox going to be?

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yeah, so just at the top, this is like a
top three of players that you should be looking at.
And you know, if you're talking about releasing any capital,
the top three guys are players we've talked a ton
about so far this season. Roman Anthony is number one.
If you needed a pitcher, we can move to the
next guy. I suppose Anthony's got his average still up
over to eighty to eighty eight, four to twenty three,

(16:51):
obp ten homers, three stolen bases, and just ripped off
almost five hundred foot homer the other day of four
ninety seven. So the Padres. They're going to make a
move at some point here, but we do the Padres.
The Red Sox are going to make a move here soon,
maybe with the Padres to get Roman Anthony in. But
we'll have to see, you know, if this is going
to end up being something where they're comfortable putting out

(17:11):
that many players, that many rookies that are out there.
But that is number one on just his quick top
three list.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Yes, and the other two names are very familiar, and
the roster percentage is high too. It's once again, it's
Bubba Watch done undone as always, Bubba Chandler this week.
So are we any closer to seeing Bubba Chandler?

Speaker 2 (17:32):
If the moon and the stars aligned to create this
perfect source of energy that bows down onto the planet
and it opens up these magical doors to another world,
then Bubba Chandler can finally step out into it and
be the man that we wanted him to see, and
the pirates will finally be comfortable with it. I don't

(17:53):
know if it'll ever happen, but Bubba kind of keeps rolling.
His last start wasn't super great, strikeouts were down, But
I also think you're just kind of going up and
down and you're playing this weird dance at this point
with him. But Bubba is still the top pitcher. There's
no reason for him to be down. So that's why
it could happen literally at any point out the Bubba grade.
But Bubba's in retrograde. That's one hundred percent off. We're

(18:14):
waiting for the Mars and the Sun and Bubba Chandler
to align perfectly, all right.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Jacob Mizowski the last of these big three names, and
again we've been waiting patiently for Misrowski continues to strike
out everybody. Uh, the question is when does that start
happening at the major league level.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
And this is another one of this.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
I actually think we are now at the point with
Jacob Mazerowski where it doesn't matter. We're just like, like,
can I pinpoint what it is an injury should bring
him up? But you also have Logan Logan Henderson kind
of looming out there. But you know that that whip
has gotten lower for him, the strikeouts are still going low.

(18:53):
Era he's maintaining he looks like one of the best
close to the maid pitchers. So that's why he's number three,
and I think he belongs in that group with Bubba
in Roman Anthony. But it's going to take us to
a really interesting name we're going to talk about as
we do actual breakdowns of prospects that we want to
be prospecting across.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
This this little landscape.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
So stashes aside, let's get into it. Who's first on
your list today to really start to break down of
the guys that are making some noise in Triple A
and who knows even below.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
So we're gonna start with a hitter first. We'll start
with Samuel Bissio. I don't think we've talked about him
all season long, with the Baltimore Orioles catcher, but also
some first base and that's probably going to be his
home I think into the near future.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
So Samuel Bissio is only hitting two fifty two.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
But he's got thirteen homers. He started rattling off some
really good production. He's had some injury stuff, but check
out these Triple A underlying things. Fifty seven percent hard
hit rate, a ninety essentially a ninety four average X
of velocity with a one six one sixteen EVE. He's
getting the ball in the air, which he did not
do last year. He's got almost a fifteen degree launch angle.

(20:05):
The bat looks to be flying. I don't think it's
out of pocket that an opportunity could arise, even though
I know they've got you know, the Kobe maos and stuff.
If they were to make some moves, and let's say
Ryan o'hernan gets moves or Mount Castle or something like that,
that Besio could maybe play that role of, you know, catching,
occasionally jumping over to first base, maybe even dhing if
they decide to consolidate some stuff. But I'm just not

(20:27):
sure how long they want to keep Pisio down in
Triple A. He got some time last year, so he's
already put up sixty games in Triple A in his
minor league career. But young dudes still only I believe,
twenty years old. But he's in Triple A. He's starting
to hit homers and he's starting to get.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Hot, all right. A guy that we've talked about before,
but starting to make moves. Chase Burns of the Reds
was actually promoted over the weekend from Double A to
Triple A second overall pick in twenty twenty four. He
has been very good so far this season, a one
twenty nine Era a point seventy to one whip, fifty
five strikeouts, and forty two innings. So could Burns potentially

(21:02):
push for the big leagues in twenty twenty five?

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Yeah, I think that's what we have to talk about.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
And by the way, you only gave his Double A
numbers because check out this stut on the season as
a whole, he has seventy five strikeouts to just nine walks.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
That's like Cliff Lee level in the minors.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Because he started in High A. He put up eight
starts in Double A, so it's taken eleven starts for
him to move two levels across the board. He's now
in Triple A. And I've had people ask me about
him early on, and my interest is pretty minimal for
redraft because he just don't know, you know, he didn't.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Really pitch at all last year.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
But they're putting him one hundred percent on the Ret
Louder path where Rehet Louder we saw in the majors
about a year after he was drafted. He's in Triple
A right now after going seven, giving up three hits,
striking out six in his last outing. He has gone
five every start since May second or higher, and he's

(21:55):
built up getting into that seven range. I mean, whip
has been low. He looks like one of the best
and all of baseball, and legitimately, if the Reds want
to make any type of push, they want to do
the Red Louder thing where they bring him up. I
think we are going to see Chase Burns at this point.
They went three starts to double A. They went eight
starts to triple A. Maybe it's going to be under

(22:15):
ten starts, which might not give you a bunch, but
there's also the possibility maybe over the next four or
five starts he just say screw this, let's get him
in the rotation. Chase Burns We're going to see at
some point this season, so we need to get him
on the radar.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
That's a big thing.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
All right, Let's talk about Quinn Matthews, who was on
my radar at the beginning of the year, but unfortunately
injuries kind of slowed him in twenty twenty five. What's
his status now? And the Cardinals are a team that
you know, started to come back down to us just
a little bit recently.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Yeah, Well, this that is is he's healthy. That's been
his biggest buggaboo. He hasn't been healthy. He's had some
really bad outing so far this season, but his last
start in Triple A five innings, gave up five hits,
struck out six.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Walked none.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Over his last four starts, he's got around a one whip,
which is really important for him, and I think they
could use him in that rotation pretty soon. So Quinn
Matthews is a guy that I think a lot thought
we were going to see much early on. Might be
a really interesting spot starter. I think is it's like
a post hype sleeper now because there was a lot
of hype and then there's injuries and bad production that

(23:17):
I think we can kind of jump back on the train.
Pretty good pitch mix going to throw three or four
different pitches out at us and strikeouts are starting to come,
and I think Quinn Matthews we're going to see. Its
possibility we see him before the All Star break. So
be on the lookout for Quinn Matthews.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
All Right, So who's last on the list this week
for prospecting with the Welsh? All right?

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Last one up is Colby Thomas, and I feel like
I've talked about him a decent amount. The A's have
made all these different weird moves as of recent they're
bringing out. It was like Blade's down, Blade's up. You know,
they bring up Logan, was it Logan Davidson? They brought
up a ton of different guys. So the guy that
we haven't seen is Colby Thomas, and I think we

(23:56):
should soon. Even Denzel Clark they brought up, but Denzel
Clark had like a seventy since strikeout rate. Well, Colby
Thomas and Triple A is hitting three ZHO six with
fifteen homers. He's got three stolen bases. OHPS is good,
OBP is solid. It's around three seventy. He does have
a strikeout walk thing similar to Denzel Clark, but he's
producing at like a really really high level. And I

(24:17):
think with how the A's have been moving back and forth,
Cooby Thomas is a guy that we can see pretty
soon and in that ballpark, I think he is gonna
thrive with some big homers. So look out for Colby Thomas.
He's a player that again in the next couple weeks,
I think we could be seeing soon.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
He had a big Sunday two three for five with
a homer and a stolen base, two run scored, and
to RBI, so keep an eye. I mean, he's gotta
be better than Denzel Clark, that's for sure. Clark has
not been the answer. So those are the prospects to
stash should be aware of, make moves for This is
prospecting of the Welsh. Make sure you check out fantasybros
dot com for more from the Welsh regarding prospects, and

(24:51):
follow us on Fantasy Bros MLB for more fantasy baseball content.
All right, let's take a look here at the three
up and three down. We had Randy Rose enough three
for five with two doubles, Taylor Ward is eighteenth homer,
and Jake Myers are the four for four with two steals.
The downs Carlos Rodan, he was a big down. Five
runs you lose against the Red Sox and Yankee Stadium.

(25:12):
Not good. Sigano struggled again. He's terrible. Four runs, three earned,
eight hits over four to third and Zach Gallon continues
to be the pit six and two thirds innings in
a loss for the Reds. And that rotation right now,
down Corbyn Burns. Gallon's been terrible. That's been bad, yeah,
kind of. And when you're down and something's just not

(25:35):
working for you, m'd be time to turn to Kaisa tracks.
That's right, because they could be signs of low testosterone,

(27:00):
Let's talk injuries here. Uri Perez is gonna be activated today. Yay.
Bryce Harper goes to the il boo. The risk inflammation
a problem for Harper. So Welsh, what's the answer in fantasy?
Right now? You look at the way we wire first base?
Is it Toro? Is it like? I mean, just kind
of looking around, it's kind of slim Pickens. I feel
like at first base and Stebbi dropped Christian Walker. Maybe

(27:20):
you want to go that route.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Yeah, I think it's gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
I mean league dependent is probably going to be the
answer here because I think there are guys, but yeah,
in shorter leagues of a guy like Christian Walker was cut,
that's kind of interesting.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Maybe Curtis is.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Coming back, like Jerry said, that would be someone I
don't think like a Toro or Romeing Gonzales in any
capacity is where I'm gonna try to end up finding
my production from though I can say that.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
All right, let's get to some more questions and more
injury news here too. Let me pull up some more here.
Let's go to Zebby Matthews, who is down on the
il right shoulder strain. That's terrible. So the Twins have
lost Lopez and Zebbie Matthews in the same week. Basically
awful for them and wide open now for that po
Central I'm telling you right now. So the Tigers' biggest

(28:06):
threat was probably the Twins. Now it's up to the
Royals to get that pitching on point, get Caglione hitting,
and see if they can go ahead and make a
run here. Jordan Westberg is trending towards returning On Tuesday
show Toe Minaga will make a minor league rehabit start
tomorrow as well, and Max schures Are maybe we'll see
him in twenty twenty five. He through fifty pitches over
three innings simulated games. So what do you think of

(28:31):
Max sures Are over under twelve starts this year?

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Ooh under, he's nonnih and starts that I care about?
Zero probably zero Carton starts that I care about with
Max Scherziers so far this year.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
All right, let's get to Matthew's question. Here is subscribe
to the channel today, DH Brent Rooker, Sal Frielick or
Addison Bajia aw'jia Bajia.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Shout out to Matthew too for the structure of giving
us like how many game games and versus who very helpful?

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Very helpful. I mean, as much as you could fit
in here is always good. But I still go with
Brent Rooker here, how about you?

Speaker 3 (29:05):
I would go with.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Rooker, but I think why this question is this is
an Addison Barger question?

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, has been hot?

Speaker 3 (29:11):
Yeah I don't. I don't think.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
It's like ridiculous Freelick gets one more game in there.
But I'm just gonna say I think Rooker's bat is
still too powerful. But Barger, he's hot, right now, and
he'd be number two. I would still do that over
one extra freelay game.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Westburg or Shaw from Michael is the rest of season question? Yeah,
I think you got to go there. Also sell Donovan
for Paveta. Yes, I'm fine with that.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Yeah, yeah, that's so good.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
I mean me, all the.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Pitchers are great to die in here batting, averaging stuff,
but yeah, Pavetta for sure.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
Here you go Kurtz. See, you know, Christian and Cardassia
Stras could a couple of good games and people want
to just be all up on him right now. If
we've forgotten how terribly he's been for two years, I
haven't to me. See, yes, he'sn't even in this conversation Welsh,
I don't know if he is for you, he's not
for me. Kurtz or Caags the rest of season? If
you can only have How do you rank these guys?
That's interesting? How do you rank them? Ces is third?

(30:04):
For me, I'd probably go Kurtz, Kags Ces. Where would
you go?

Speaker 3 (30:08):
You're saying Kurt's one.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah, I'm saying Kurts one because I think he was
just starting to really get it.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah, before he got here, you know, Okay, so my gut,
I want to say CAGs, but you're not wrong about that.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
The ballpark is so great.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Kurtz really started to lock in and I was like
defending him, and now I'm going back to CAGs. I
just think, like Kegs hitting the ball super hard. One
thirteen's just left and right and doubles and stuff like that.
I'm gonna go with him. But Kurts is way safer,
way safe. Kurts is probably the generally, probably the answer,
because he's got upside with some floor where CAGs has

(30:41):
got all upside right now and he hasn't presented any floor.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
CS is not in the discussion for me either though.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
All right, it's time everybody for the best bets of
the day with Joey p and the Welsh. Let's start
with Miami on the money line. Uri Perez is back
and I want to bet on the Marlins because I'm
crazy and it's a Monday, so give me the Marlins
and the money again too. The Pittsburgh Pirates, God, they're awful.
If Perez goes out there again. Watch the weather in
this one too, a little wonky weather potentially here plus

(31:09):
one hundred. I like Perez maybe against the five innings.
If he does, I think they can hang on because
Pittsburgh's just got awful offensively. Toronto on the money line
too minus won twelve brios is a three or four
era on the road. They are on the road today.
Is Ra is actually a full run higher at home
this year, so that's interesting. The oppo splits there. And
then Corbin Carrol for an RBI plus one fifteen. He's

(31:32):
got a six thirty eight slugging percentage against Righty's and
he's got a rity on the mound today. So those
are my bets. Welsh, what are yours?

Speaker 2 (31:39):
By the way, Yeah, shout out to Waukee Penguin and
Wonkee's a brand new emoji. We got the Wonky emoji.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Because you said the wan yehay, but not the Wonkie Penguin.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
I will also play in the Arizona Diamondbacks realm, but
I'm gonna go Arizona Diamondbacks run line minus one and
a half, so that's to win by two runs. It's
plus money. I'm always picking on Emerson Handcock. I will
be picking on him a little bit later in the
home run calls as well. But give me Arizona to
win on the run line plus one nineteen. They are

(32:09):
out for blood right now and they can't pitch, but
they got their best pitcher out there right now. It's
Merril Kelly going today, but it's all offense. They're gonna
need to play. I'm also gonna go with the A's
first five money line, so for them to obviously they
could be tied, but to be winning through the first
five innings, and the reason behind it. You've got Kikuchi
and Jeffrey Springs.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
We talked about this.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Jeffrey Springs has an over five era at home on
the road as a three eight era, So I'm gonna
back Jeffrey Springs and the A's here big plus money's
are all plus money plays. And then I'm gonna go
will your brave over one point five total bases at
plus one fifteen? Will you're a brall you slug and
slug and sluggin against RDY, So will your a bray

(32:49):
you plus one fifteen, A's first five money line plus
one twenty and Arizona run line minus one and a
half plus one nineteen. Those are my best bets for Monday.

Speaker 1 (32:59):

a look at the home run board from the weekend.
See what we got here. Walkee Penguin at twenty one,
still alive, Everyone's at twenty, George just about to crack
thirty at twenty nine, far out at twenty eight, right
on George's heels. I am going to go today with

(33:45):
Corbyn Carrel plus three forty for my home run call again.
The Sami Sosa jersey from Pristine Auction is up for
grabs Welsh. Where you go and you're one away from
being back on the board. I am now three away
after a stone cold weekend, very disappointing.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
I'm gonna stick in that same game, but I'm gonna
go on the other side. Well actually I'm saying on
the dam back side, but the other side of the lineup.
Kit Tell Marte Tell Marte has been absolutely ridiculous on
that Homer front. It's gonna be hitting at the top
of the order. It's Emerson Hancock and it's Kittel Marte.
Let's go too for a Marte parte and get me

(34:19):
back on that.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Board for tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Yeah, it's funny. Now, I was gonna go Marte. Now,
if you get Marte and I don't, Carol doesn't go,
I'm gonna be very salty tomorrow, very salty. Shout out
