of our fantasy baseball goodness Welsh. Let's start with the
big headline from yesterday. We had a rookie lookie debut,
(01:08):
Jacob Miserrowski finally got to the big leagues, twenty three
years old, tall drink of water. That young man certainly
a pretty good outing, one would say, striking out five,
he did walk a few guys walked three to be exact.
He did actually roll his ankle as well. I guess
the question is do you think he would have stayed
in that game had he not rolled the ankle? But
(01:29):
certainly I think a pretty strong first effort from Jacob Mizerowski.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Your thoughts, Yeah, I'd say giving up no hits is
a pretty good.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Good that's a pretty good start. That's a good start.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Okay, all right, I mean just drop it. Four walks,
though the last one was technically like credited to him
because we thought it was the ankle. They actually said
it was a quad ended up being like a quad injury,
that a little strain quad or something. But then I
don't remember who the picture was came in after him,
ended up walking the guy and that got credited to Miserrowski,
So technically, you know, only three, five strikeouts. We hit
(02:02):
the prop course boom, five innings, no hits. Looked absolutely dominant.
If you watch the start, I watched the whole thing.
The fastball was absolutely ridiculous. He hit one oh two
max average, ninety nine stupid tons of spin on it.
Slider was disgusting, absolutely disgusting. Uh, thirty five percent whiff
(02:23):
rate across the board. Every single pitch generated a whiff.
His fastball generated the most, but he had a fifty
percent on the slider called strikes and whiffs also thirty
two percent. That's great. It was a little in and
out of the zone. You know, he had some pitches
where they were just kind of flying. But like listen,
it's as good of a debut as you could possibly have.
This is a guy that there was a point we
(02:46):
thought there could be relief risk because of how wild
the command was. This was the pieces of what has
been fixed. He was able to throw that fastball for strikes,
even though there were some pitches that went wild over
here and there. You could see the stuff. It's absolutely dominant,
big moving stuff too, really hard to hit. I think
(03:07):
I think you got to keep him in the rotation,
even though I know we did the Logan Henderson stuff
out here, but I also think it's really, really, really
encouraging to have seen that, like he can maintain strikeouts
and the game while walking a few. It's very Dylan
Cees esque, but I think the stuff is even nastier
as long as the command keeps going. Stuff plus numbers
(03:28):
were through the freaking roof. And I'm very glad that
when I talked about the Big Three, i'd put him
on the Big Three with Bubba Chandler, who will never
be up in Roman Anthony. We did that. Within two days,
two of the Big three were called up, and you
should feel very good about Jacob Menzerowski. And I think
there's plenty more strikeouts to come. But no hits is
(03:49):
pretty deep, pretty.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Good, It's pretty damn good. I just, you know, I
can't help but worry. You know. I see him going
out there throwing a hundred and one hundred and one
in the first couple of pitches, and I'm just like,
this is great. I mean, it's fun, it's exciting. And
then I just all I keep thinking about in the
back of my head is but for how long? But
for how long? Because I just feel like that's all
there is now. Hopefully he continues to make progress. As
(04:10):
you said, his control has been an issue in the
minor leagues, something he's gotten better about this year. Hopefully
he doesn't regress. How many starts he's going to make.
That's the question, because I think that's the question where
p Fife's inquiry here of how much fab would you
spend on Iszarrowski? So what is your outlook for him
in terms of how many more starts he has with
the Brewers this year?
Speaker 2 (04:30):
I mean that's like I wish I could answer that.
I wish I had all the answers to it. We
thought Logan Henderson was good to go, I'd have to say,
I think after seeing this start and what he was
able to provide for them, I can't imagine they're going
to move off. I can't imagine anymore that even a
jose Kintana is going to keep him away or Chad
Patrick or whatever. I would assume he's going to stick around.
(04:54):
You go, no hits, you throw how he did. I mean,
he's got such ridiculous release tension that it makes those
pitches even more devastating. He's got a lot of movement
as well on those when he's throwing one hundred and two,
he is valuable across the board, So I think he's
going to stick around. That's going to be my guess,
because that's all it is, is a guess. And I
would say this probably penning your need for pitching goes
(05:17):
along the same lines as like Roman Anthony, because this
weekend people will be fighting for Roman Anthony and Misrowski
and like NFBC based stuff, twenty person like, I don't
want to go ballistic because he has a pitcher and
there's some volatility in here. I think twenty is probably.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
We've lost a lot of pitchers this week too.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
I think they spin thirty to forty though, to end
up getting him.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
That's my guest too, you know. And I don't think
it's fair to logan Henderson if I can just for
a moment, who was called upon a few times and
every single time was just awesome in his starts. I
don't know. I I'm not trying to shy away from,
you know, or throw shade at all. And anything that
Miserowski did last night was really impressive, but just kind
(06:00):
of like, well, Henderson's doing the same thing, and if
Miserowski is good. I keep looking at the rest of
that rotation, like, why aren't they both just up there, like, so,
what are we doing Milwaukee, Like it's not an innings thing,
because if so, then we would have been more careful
with them in the minor leagues than we were in
the beginning of the season. And they were not necessarily
careful with them in the beginning of the year. They
were just letting them go and hang out there.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, but in the minders they can like force them
to have seven, but they feel like a conviction. Managing
is a little bit jumping ahead. But I think it's
just warranted to talk about this. Why Miserowski stays around
longer and why you can justify getting Logan Henderson back
in is because Woodroof Woodroff was put on the sixty
day IL. You know, lol, in the kindest way possible,
(06:40):
we laugh because it's so absurd. We want the best
for Brandon Woodriff, but he's on the sixty day IL.
That opened up that forty minute roster spot. It's not
coming back anytime soon, and that's.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Sixty day IL Welsh Brandon Woodrow, Yes, Brandon Woodriff, I
see you, Randon wood drift. You're never coming back to
the major leagues. I'll see you in Peoria for the
rest of your life.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
And very vill actually but yes, well how very appropriate
serious by the way, Yeah, Friday the thirteenth, little little
scariness for you.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
There wasn't the Woodroff thing. Just a procedural thing though,
because they had to bring up Miserwski. That's why I
saw it.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yeah, I mean it's like the knew, yeah, and I
think they back logged it and stuff like.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
That, but it really means nothing.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
So it just he's been a disaster. The whole thing's
a disaster. We don't know enough about any of it,
but I do think there's a possibility that Logan and
Miserowski can be up soon. But Miz is the guy
that they are gonna they are going to lock into.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Are we calling him the Miz now, because like that's
a wrestling thing for me, and I don't know how
I should about that.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
It's a very distinct thing. What else would you like
to call him? You want to give him a different nickname?
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Well, the the Miss. He's been there, he's earned it
for almost twenty years in WW now, like he's kind
of earn that a little bit fifteen still the real
world to me, Galimano, thanks for resubscribing over here with
Prime over on our YouTube channel. All right, so Misraowski
really good start, very good. Hopefully he continues to thrive
(08:13):
and hopefully that ankle is not a big deal too.
Let's talk about another young picture. Hayden Birdsong yesterday put
another quality start together at Corsfield Again. Coors is not
what it used to be in terms of giving up
runs because on the Rocky stink. But it's the first
time he's gone six innings. We talked about him and
Kyle Harrison kind of battling back and forth. Who's going
to remain when Verlander returns? Now, I think they should
(08:34):
both remain, considering you know, I think they're both better
at this stage in their careers than Verlander might be.
Birdsong is a three point two four era twenty six
to nine strikeout to walk right over twenty five innings
as a starter. He gets the Guardians next week. So
let's talk about bird Song and Harrison right now. If
you've got shares of one or the other, how do
(08:56):
you approach this next coming week? Are you afraid that
somebody gets back own star. You just trying to put
ear muffs on. And I'll pay attention to any of
that and just wait and see what the Verlander news is.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Yeah, I mean I feel I think you gotta wait.
But I think Harrison might be the guy that gets bounced.
Numbers get a little bit inflated obviously in Colorado, not
like what you expect, but just they look good. They
look so good. He had sixteen whiffs in this game
against him, because they're just swinging at everything. They don't
even know what the hell they're doing up there. Fastball
it only hads This is funny. It only had a
(09:26):
seventeen percent whiff rate, but he had five whiffs on
it because twenty nine swings on that fastball. Everyone was
just sitting fastball trying to get ahead of it, and
that ended up leading to really high wiff rates on
his slider, curve and change up. They all were dominant.
That's where all that sixteen came from. He was throwing strikes.
I think bird Song just looks really solid. That would
be the one that I wanted bet on, though.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Yeah, look they've both been solid. I mean, Harrison's been
very good. You know, when you have these Stars against
the Rockies. You better be good. That's all I can
tell you. But yeah, it's it's gonna be tricky. Verlander's
not going anywhere because they're paying him and he's the
veteran and so unfortunately, that's just going to be what
it is. At this point. Devin Williams pitched a perfect
ninth inning, so he got to save. That's another notch
in his belt there. As he continues to take back
(10:10):
that closer role. Most likely Luke Weaver is starting to
progress a little bit here. I got some Luke Weaver
news yesterday. But I mean, if Luke Weaver's healthy, do
you just is it a committee or does it go
back to Weaver or is it just Devin Williams.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
I think there's a I think there's a version of
a committee, Like I think they're gonna want it to
go to Devin Williams. I think when Luke Weaver comes back,
they put Devin. I think because you've got this built
in where they can be like, well, we don't want
to throw him right back into the fire, so they
kind of have him be the setup guy. He comes
in the eighth inning, and if Devin Williams continues to roll.
He is the guy, but there could be some version
(10:46):
of a committee where if it's you know, they want
more rest between and both of those guys go. And
obviously if Devin Williams struggles, it goes back to Weaver.
But the easy answer I think they lean on Devin
Williams the rest of the season is he's kind of
refound himself. It might be better having Weaver be your
leverage player, whether it's the seventh or eighth or maybe
even the ninth of the best part of the rotate.
(11:07):
The lineup is what you want him to attack. So
if you got Devin Williams, I think you can keep
firing up those shares. But we'll see once Weaver comes back.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Question here from Big Dance miss Rowski or Uri Perez
ten team myrtle keeper. I want Perez of those two guys.
I like Perez is a pitcher a lot yeah, I think,
and I've saw a lot more of him at the
big league level two years ago before he got hurt
that I was very impressed, and I think a lot
of people are on Major League Baseball. There's some people
who think that he is the best pitching prospect in
Major League baseball right now theoretically speaking, Still.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Yeah, it's not the prospect, but I know what you mean.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Like young because of his age, you know, in terms
of young pitchers coming through. You know, it's like a
lot of people look at Uripres, but like, Okay, that's
gonna be the guy in a couple of years that
we're all kind of fawning over. So the only, uh,
I wander to say, not the only possible committee situation
here when it comes to bullpens. Ryan Presley slammed the
door on the Pirates on Thursday. He worked a scoreless
ninth inning, and on top of which, the day before
(12:02):
Polencia had thrown. So are we seeing Ryan Presley start
to work his way back into ninth inning conversations? Welsh?
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Yeah, I think so. I read this story that I
think after whatever it was, like the eight run he
got like blown up that he went to Ian Happ
and he had asked Ian Happ to like write down
some of the hitting the notes on Ryan Presley of
like what a hitter would do to attack, and he's
been working on that. He kind of cleaned that up.
(12:29):
I happen to be watching that cleaned it up really quick.
Look good. Ryan Presley's got the name. They don't seem
fully committed to Plancy kind of what I was always saying,
just didn't feel like Plancy was the guy that was
going to hold it down the rest of the season.
So if Ryan Presley's back out there, I would pick
him up because he seems to be finding a little
bit of rhythm doing some work. And I thought that
was interesting about like, you know, hitters on the team
(12:52):
giving notes about why he is being why is hittable,
and why they would attack him so he could change.
So Ryan Presley for some saves again with the Cubs.
That's something you like.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
All right, next up here more bullpens Off will vest
another dominant performance from him. He's been terrific. The ratios
are great. Yea, he got another saved there. Sometimes he
foregoes a save or two. But whatever's Look what they're
doing in detroit's working, so just keep on doing it.
That's what's happening there. Let's go to the Rangers, who
put up a couple runs yesterday. And I was so
mad because I was looking at just acquired Marcus and
(13:22):
we in a trade last week. I was like, oh,
look at all the Rangers runs. Let's see what Marcus did. Nothing.
I mean it had been pretty good recently too, He's
been certainly much better of late. But Garcia signs a
life for him. Three run homer. Evan Carter had a
home run a steel White Langford who was on our
trade video, which, by the way, if you haven't seen it,
go watch on our YouTube channel. He reached base four
(13:44):
times and hit a home run as well. So good
day for the Rangers, bad day for the Twins.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Carter have a homer because he's on Jack Lighter territory.
For you, Oh, you're just every time Evan Carter's name
gets mentioned, you get all like hulk and hot bothered
you like I'm always angry. Oh like that's one of
those guys for sure.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Oh and Evn Carter can't hit left these Evan Carter
is not special either, Like, just because a guy's a
rookie doesn't make him special. Do you I want me
to pull up my Todd Van Poppel rookie cards from
nineteen eighty nine or whatever the hell it was to
prove her ninety one, and then we can go have
that conversation about everybody's not special. Everybody's not special just
because they're new.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
We need we need a list like my best friend's
advance of Joe's not Special list. But also like it's
it's so funny because nobody's saying they're special but you.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
But you're just like, no, really, no, that is nonsense.
How how could you say that?
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Who is saying Evan Garter special? Right now? Oh?
Speaker 1 (14:40):
I don't know. How about the freaking consensus ADP two
years ago? Or Wyatt Langford and him were neck and neck?
Speaker 2 (14:45):
That's two years ago, though, I'm always right now.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Last year, not this year, last year, not this ADP
of the year before. But that's like, that's not twenty
years ago. Well, it's just last year. That's what's saying it.
A bunch of experts quote unquote in the Indo say
it and it's ninety ninety one. Todd van Popol, By
the way.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Wasn't isn't there Nett's what was? Isn't Greg Jeffries? Wasn't
he one of those guys?
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Oh, Craig Jefferies. Again, just because you're new doesn't mean
you're special. Just because you have a blip on the
radar of being good in a short period of time
does not make you special. You know, you gotta dig
a little deeper. Yeah, to look at over first.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
I think everybody agrees because no one's saying it either right.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Now, no one's was defending Evan Carter because he had
a good game. Nobody, should I dance a jig? Yes, Actually,
Evan Carter can't hold Max Munsey's jock. Okay, and everybody
knows Max Munsey not one of my favorites. But Max
Munsey is delivered in the major league level. He is
just the guy will hit two hundred and then hit
your thirty home runs. That's not my style player. It's
(15:40):
just not what I want on my teams. It's not
what I want.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Did you see the Justin Turner video yesterday?
Speaker 1 (15:45):
No?
Speaker 2 (15:46):
What's ayah, I'm playing here, But Justin Turner did speaking
of doing a little jig. He did a little jig,
but they had something attached and on TV and they
didn't realize it. Just go play yeah, yeah, Michael just said,
everybody wants us to play it. Were not going to
play the video. But you can play the Justin Turner
video and see if ce if Evan Carter can hold those.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
All right, all right, let's see if we can get
up rookie and Walsh can tell me if he's special
or not. Christian Moore getting promoted from Triple A. Uh,
he was selected eighth overall in twenty twenty four. His
slash so far in the minor leagues this year two
seventy nine, three seventy four, four twenty two. He's got
five homers, thirty two RBI, eight steals in twelve attempts.
(16:25):
So give me the low down on Christian more.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Yeah, really good athlete, big bodied guy, you know, playing
on the infield and pulling up some of his Triple
A data. Uh, just for you guys, let's see in
Triple A first, just statistically four homers, three stolen bases,
three point fifty average. After coming up from Double A,
where he struggled by the way he moved from. He
was in two thirty four in Double A, went up
(16:50):
to Triple A, which is like unheard of for the
the Angels to ever do. He really dominated, like analytically
really low hard hit numbers, which is not great, pretty
decent average EV. He had a one to eleven max
EV and a twelve percent launch angles. You know, like
some of the stuff that you kind of want. I
(17:10):
think there's a big projectable body in there. I've talked
about this before for better or for worse with if
you're you know, I know, like the Trevor Bauer stuff
gets people worked up. Christian Moore in the off season
did a video with Momentum, which is that company, where
he went up against Bauer. That was very telling. It
was very interesting a prospect who had never been to
double A going up against this guy and you're kind
(17:31):
of seeing You're seeing the explosiveness in the bat You're
seeing him get to secondary stuff. And Chase I think
he's a really smart player. I think he's tooled out
beyond belief. There seems to be some challenging off speed
stuff that he's getting hit with right now. I think
that's coming from some of the average low evs and
the batting average in general. So I'm very curious to
see I'm gonna tell you this, I think that Christian
(17:52):
Moore those two as I would say, you would say,
I say the tools are loud. But I'm a little
bit worried that he's going to have a hard time
finding consistency when he gets really challenged at the major
league level. But he's going to rattle off some big homers.
He's gonna steal some basses, probably hit low in the lineup.
I don't know if I would go and race in
(18:13):
ten team leagues or something like that. I'd be very
careful about the words special, I suppose. But he's a
very fun prospect. But there might be some growing pains
this year.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
Would you rather have Misroowski or more miser like the Miz?
The miz game to play? By the way, Evan Carter
this year he has six played appearances against left handed pitching,
six sitting two hundred with a five thirty three ops.
And those six appearances, he's a platoon player.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
He's never get excited left, me, no right, So he's
a he's a platoon player. That's some good platoon players,
Kerry carp.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
There are, there are, But you can't. You can't think
a player is great and only play against right handed
pitching like that doesn't make you a great player. It
makes you great at one thing. That's fine. But like
the notion that somehow good is that's a good this year.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
No one's saying he's great. Are the pat Are you blue?
Speaker 1 (19:07):
If you're not an every day player? No, I'm curious
do you think do you think a player is a
good player who's not an everyday player regardless of.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
I think your brain is pretty good. I think Kerry
Carpent is pretty good.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Keep using the caveat pretty before good.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
I'm just thinking I think they're good player. Well, I mean,
what is your version of a good player.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Is like one who plays every day against left hand
is or right handers and performs well.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Well, if you're player, if your definition of a good
player is a guy that plays every single day, and
then you're asking me, can a guy that doesn't play
every day be a good player by your definition? I
could never win that in the history of ever. That's
not possible. So you're setting up if I think platoon players,
guys that have splits that are strong side platoons can
(19:46):
be good players. It doesn't. They can't be great players.
So I think I have a looser definition of like
this is like a bad player, an average player, a
good player, a great.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
See. I think what you're doing is you're saying useful player.
Even Carter may become a useful player for the Rangers
and certainly for fantasy teams as well. A useful player
that I could see useful. Good is different to me.
Good is Hey, I'm an everyday player. I play right
field for the Blue Jays. I play you know, second
base for the you know, Kansas City Royal. Like, this
(20:18):
is my position, this is my job. And just because
a tough left or any lefty is on the mound
means that I go sit the bench. No, useful, Fine,
you want to call Evan Carter a guy developing into
a useful player, that I will accept. I will accept
those terms, my good sir, Let's call them useful, which
is okay in fantasy. Useful's fine if you're willing.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
To ninety four four homers, five stolen bases pretty soon.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Okay, let's let's let's let's do the career numbers for
Evan Carter since we want to cherry picker a couple.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
We don't care this. Oh my god, this is turning
into Jack life something with you with Rangers. I actually
don't care why you get these players in your cra
that I'm just like, what are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (20:55):
But again again, well she's saying two nine, three, three,
sixty nine, five thirty four. It's nineteen games he's played there.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Pretty it's pretty useful in nineteen games.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
He was pretty unuseful in forty five last year. Where
on this year Baby Future I know, and Joe Adell
is Aaron Judge because he has a good week like the.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Now Never with You, space Part two is coming out.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Never with Joe Adell and never with these guys who
do this all the time. They give you this little spurs,
these little teases, only to disappoint you. I am excited
about these Baseball sequel though. Do you think it will
be funny?
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Uh No, it'll it'll probably It'll probably be similar to
like super Troopers too, It'll have lots of references to
like Baby Yoda's and Mandalorians, and Spaceball two will probably
lack pretty dramatically versus the original. But I'm just glad
forty years later there he's getting Melbrooks at ninety eight
years old, is getting.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
I know, ninety eight years old, and he's like, it'll
be out in two years.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
He's gonna play yogurt, which I know. I don't think
he's gonna be alive to do that.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
I think I think he's setting this up as like
this is a reason for him to stay alive. I
think purpose is very important. You know. My purpose is
to rail against the rangers. His is to create content
and make films. You know. I just recently saw Spaceballs
again too in the theater. The kids and I went
to see Spaceballs and it was you know, it is
stupid funny, Like it's not like high hilarious. Cont Rick
(22:19):
Moranis's moments in that movie really just.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
As dark Helm if you've never so.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
The fact that he's coming back makes it right. The
fact that he's coming back makes it And I think
you have to see it as a kid to appreciate
like the stupid humor of it, and then as an
adult you're like you roll your eyes. I'm like, oh,
these are some pretty bad jokes.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
As combing the desert is like an all time bit.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
There's a bunch of really funny bits. Yeah, I didn't
see you playing with your dolls against sir. It's definitely
my favorite, like because you know that whole scene's got
to be which one he's you know, where he's sitting playing.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
With Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I told you to never
come in when I played with my dolls.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Yeah. Jewish princesses are attracted to money and power and
I have both.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Take it to Luda, Chris Speed.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Just good, what do we got on this thing of
queens and art? Three up and three down? Framber Valdez
twelve strikeouts or Framber whenever? I having to that guy too,
Michael Winslow. But he's just making noises.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
Something was a police academy, a police academies, and he was.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Well he did all those before spaceballs, I want to say,
or mostly no spaceballs.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
I think it was before police academy in the seventies.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
I will challenge that. I like to challenge that ruling.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
You throw a flag if you want. But I'm pretty
sure that maybe spaceballs was in between, like the first That's.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
What I mean. I think it was in the run.
Nineteen eighty four was the first police academy and nineteen
eighty I want to say six. I think spaceball spaceballs earlier.
Nineteen eighty seven, so three years later. But when was
the second police academy? That is the question. We really
have no baseball to talk about today. Thursday was light
eighty five, so he did at least two. They were
(23:54):
just churning those Gutenberg was just churning those movies out.
Those police again. Also, you never see those TV Remember
when we were kids, those were on all the time.
I feel like on cable like he never sees any
of those never, those movies are dead, even on streaming
platforms at this point. To read school ball, he's streaming.
He's pretty good. Uh, seven innings for him, shut out
(24:16):
baseball against the Orioles. The wheels are terrible. Josel Tuova
two for three with a pair of doubles. I'm still
trading him this week. Find out why when you go
and look at the Baseball so On page and then
watch our trade video this week. It's a very good
trade video, so good deals to be made.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
By the way and all, I said, what do we
see first? Baseball's two or Bubba Chandler?
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Well, my favorite one earlier was who who do we
see back in magey baseball first? Brandon Woodruff or Trevor Bauer.
I thought that was at this point.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
It's fun. I don't know what we know what the
answer to that is.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
It's gonna be woodrif Uh. Sunny Gray was roughed up.
Not good for him, six runs, eight hits in that
game against the Brewers. Dean Kremer four runs, five hits
for him and Bailey Ober, who was the uh, the
whipping boy yesterday. He's been terrible his last two starts.
It's got seven walks in those two starts, hit up
seven runs against the Rangers four two thirds innings. And
(25:08):
that brings us to today's Microsoft Chasing Challengers segment, brought
to you by Microsoft. Just like the athletes who push

In this segment, we're going to talk about the challenges
faced by the Twins rotation. Yike's Pablo Lope has gone
for eight to twelve weeks to I don't know, twenty
twenty six. Then Zebbi Matthews immediately goes on the IL
a few days later, and now Bailey Ober gives up
seventeen million runs to the Texas Rangers. There is trouble
(25:51):
in Minnesota right now and it is not going well
for them, and I don't think there's an answer. You know, Joe,
Ryan's still hanging around there, Fast is hanging around there,
but Simeon Woods Richardson, I don't think it's going to
be the long term answer. And it's a shame because
the Twins, I think, really had a chance. They were
the favorites in this division going into the year from Vegas,
and it doesn't look like that team is going to
(26:12):
be able to pull off a miracle, especially with this
pitching staff the way it is, especially if Bailey ober
is going to have starts like he has the last two.
So things are not going well for the Twins right now.
I don't know if there is a solution, and that's
the problem because I think the solution is Festa and
zeb and Zebby already has been spotty and now he
is out. So right now the Twins are looking at
it saying, well, we thought we had everything lined up
(26:35):
for twenty twenty five, and unfortunately, injuries to the pitching
staff has once again been there undoing. And that of
course this week's chasing challenges. Remember Microsoft AI solutions empower

to learn more. All right, more challenging injuries. Now. A
team that does have a lot of pitching depth the Mets.
So we were all worried about, like, well, what's going
to happen when Mania comes back? Well, you might have
a rotation spout waiting for him, because Code is saying it. Yesterday,
after pitching pretty well five and two third squirrel sitting
six k's, he goes to the io with a hamstring issue. Now, Welsh,
we haven't got an update on it yet, but I'm
(27:21):
sure you saw at least the highlight of the video
or the low light whatever you want to call of
it certainly look like it's going to be at least
the ten days, if not at least a couple of
weeks would be my guess.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Yeah, if you were on here, you're like, oh, the Mets,
the rotation, they're the best, and then bam you lose
your ace, which you need to not not have. This
is what I'm talking about when we have these conversations
about what are the Mets need? You always need pitching depth,
and you know that they've put together such an interesting
core of pitchers that I think are all over performing.
You want to buy yourself some extra depth here. So
(27:52):
I'm worried about this. I wonder if it's going to
lead to them making a move, maybe being you know,
like Sandy's put together a couple of stuff. You know,
maybe they start going down that route. I don't know,
but plug them again as we do. But Lance Brasdowski
just did a video you would have loved it. I
meant to send it to you yesterday. Just posted it
yesterday about all pitching orgs and who does the best,
(28:13):
and it is amazing. And he even notes in it
how much the Mets come up because it takes all
the double and triple A, you know, usages and averages,
and it shows like this is what this org is doing.
And the Mets were like number one in fastball v
LOO in all of the minor leagues. So what they're
targeting usage, I think they're near the top on sliders,
(28:34):
on hard sliders, VLO and stuff. So it's so she
got at the piging development that they've done has been great,
but is that enough for them to be comfortable with
Spot or Tidwell or Tong. I don't know all these.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
The guys are accounting on though, Like I'm thinking they
get Manaia back in a couple of weeks and then
probably Montas after that. But I also wiped down to
those guys.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
I would look for depth because you got those are
all guys that are injured, that have more injury pro nis,
and Seng is injured right now. So I think they
should be aggressive with it because senga one four seven
era absolutely ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous season. Even with the walks
he has maintained, it's still an expected three ERA. So
even if he's way over performing absolute ace right now,
(29:16):
so they cannot afford to lose him. I just wonder
if it'll lead to maybe a little bit more of
an aggressive trade here soon.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
I think it's a blessing in this guys, And I'll
tell you why, because he didn't pitch most of the
last year and I was a little concerned with him
wearing down. So him taking a couple of weeks off here,
three weeks, let's call it three weeks. Let's let's be
somewhere in between a month and to two week period, right, well,
three weeks maybe, I mean.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Essentially, bunch just call it like all Star break at
this point, because why I USh him back right before?
Speaker 1 (29:44):
And you know what, probably for a team that has
playoff aspirations and not the worst idea because think I
didn't pitch it all last year basically, and I think
you could see a scenario where the wheels come off
at August in September with him if he had just
kept going. So I don't want to see him hurt.
I it's absolutely a problem. And to Welsh's point two,
we talked about this yesterday. The Atlanta Braves coming up
(30:05):
with the home and home series next week, right, we're
starting that stuff in the month of June. So those
are games where you know, the Braves kind of take
advantage a little bit of seng It not being in
that rotation and a couple other things. You know, all
of a sudden, the Braves kind of become relevant again.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
So now this is part of that storyline that you
could see in the future. It's like, oh yeah, now,
how did the Braves do this? And you're like, well,
here were the pieces. Offense got healthy.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Kuna came back, Strider found himself and you know next thing,
you know, like he had the Mets and the Mets
but Senga again, it sucks for fantasy, but in terms
of long term health of the Mets, rotation and aspirations
this year, probably not the worst thing for him to
miss a few weeks or a month or like you're saying.
It was like, well, we'll just bring him back after
the All Star break and we'll be fine. But to
(30:50):
people's questioning here in the chat, how long you think
he's gonna be out? I would plan accordingly that you
think he's going to be out a month. And Michael also,
I saw your little jab there about like, oh, Joe
wouldn't talk about Viento's like he talked about Carter. Well,
when Carter has a season like Viento's did last year
where he plays every day and hits a ton of
home runs, then performs really well in the postseason for
(31:13):
an entire run, not just a series. I know Evan
Carter had a good World Series, but still, like, come on,
I took a big l on on Vento's. He's stunk
this year. He has been terrible this year.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
But we talked, but what about last year? You're talking
about last year.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
He was a good player. Last year was was? I'm sorry,
a guy who hits twenty five home runs at third
base for you isn't a good player who plays every day.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
But that's we're now into this year. Is you good
this year?
Speaker 1 (31:35):
I'm waiting for any year for Evan Carter. Give me
a full season for Evan Carter at the big leagues
and you could talk about him. Yeah, Evan Carter, please
eat a sandwich. Evan. All right, let's go to uh lot.
He kind of buried the lead here. I was gonna
make a printed woodriff thing, but like, no, where's that
to talk about that again? Let's talk about Cole Reagan's.
That's depressing. Cole Reagan's getting a second opinion, Welsh, the
(31:56):
floor is yours.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Oh god, second opinion, dude, just toss those second opinions
into the ocean. I can't do it. They're never good.
Justin Martinez with the diamondbacked I think was going for
like a second opinion. That's not going to end well.
This is not going to end well on the second opinion.
I legitimately would love for someone to do a study
(32:19):
when it got when the second opinion is involved. What
is the percentage? What is the percentage that that is
a disaster. It's almost fine. Wait, he's fine, He's not fine.
I have a I don't even know where it is.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
I have a you know what I think? Second opinion
is going to be my new uh my new baseball
team name.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
They're gonna need to sign me up. But if you
can see it, this is a Cole Reagan's ball and
he inscribed it Welsh's cutter. Nice and kind of see it, doesn't.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
I sell that now before he goes for surgery? This
might be the peak value?
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Why does it not want to come in?
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Put on eBay right now?
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Look at my ball.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Everyone will make a good look at well the ball
as he presses it forward to the camera.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
It's like Justin Turner right, here's one from uh Bromm.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Do I grab Evan Carter or Jason Dimingez. Who would
you rather have? I want you answer this Diminguez.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
All right, Jack Carter? I actually I mean Demina. Let
me look at Diminga's numbers. Like Evan Carter has been
serviceable for sure. Dimingez, I still think the like the
stuff is so big, but man, the strikeouts are getting
worse with him, He's actually bottom six percentile of the league,
still hitting the ball hard two forty six homers, eight
(33:39):
so one bases. I think Evan Carter is riskier because
of like how long he can stick around. Jason Dimingez
is kind of underperforming. Jason Dimingez also expected batting average
is right where it's at. It might be Carter, but
I don't know. I don't think he's guaranteed anything. So
I'm gonna say Dimingas it is very very very close,
(34:00):
very close.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
I'll think Domingus. I mean, I just think the Yankees
commitment to him is clear, you know, like they're gonna
ride or die. I feel like with Domingaz until we
get to trade deadline time, and then then it's gonna
be all right, well we gave you, we gave you, you know,
a couple of months here it wasn't really working.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Trade them lords for their players.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Let's talk about Kiren Pyras some more too. Yeah, that
was a fun week. We go back to that week
where he was good too. Here's one, Freddy Peralta or
Spencer Strider rest of season. I'll take Peralta, but I
get it.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
I probably would take Fry. I'm I'm very I have
not come to a conclusive decision how I feel about
Strida right now. I think there could be some pluses.
I think there's some big scares. I think the sample
size is too low. But you're kind of safer with
Freddy right now.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
All right, it looks like we had a trade go
down here too today, So let's talk about this and
the transactions. Andrew Vaughan acquired by the Rulers here for
Aaron Savali and cash considerations. So let's discuss this one here.
Aaron Savali wanted out because he wasn't getting the starting opportunity.
It's a smart move for the White Sox. They could
(35:12):
use a veteran starting pitcher who's mediocre and not paid
that much. That makes perfect sense for them. And Andrew
Vaughn could use a change of scenery. Andrew Vaughn had
a pretty good college career. He hasn't really lived up
to any of the expectations at the major league level
playing time. Where does he go? What's the future look
like for Andrew vall Is he just a quadity player? Now?
Speaker 2 (35:31):
I have no idea. I mean, I guess they could
DH him or you could just swing between Hoskins, Dhing
and him. He's not a very good player. Maybe Pat
Murphy will revive him. I definitely don't think that's out
of pocket. I think it's funny. This is like a
great trade for two players that needed out. But it
made me laugh. Pat Murphy talked a lot on the
broadcast yesterday because you know, we're watching miss and locked
(35:54):
into it, and there was just all this stuff about
like we really love Aaron, we love Aaron, but you know,
got to make sure his attitude really good. Like they
kept going in like that. Clearly Savale had like thrown
a fit to them, but was trying to be professional
and Murphy like, seven times, I'm trying to take a
word he used. He was like got his assistly being like,
you gotta be a good boy. If he's a good boy,
(36:15):
we might trade him. It was something like that, and
they moved him, and Savali's gotta be like, you know, Aaron,
you were traded. Awesome? Where am I going?
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Were going to the.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
Red Sox, the Yankees, You're going to Chicago. Oh it's great.
I love the Cubs. No, the White Sox. And then
we cut off and we bleep it. You can't be
super happy about going to the White Sox, but he
will go into the rotation which is streamable. I guess,
if anything, Aaron Savali probably has more value than Andrew
(36:44):
Vaughan is. I don't know if they're just gonna go
to Triple A with Vaughan or he's gonna come to
the majors, but he's probably limited. There'll be more run support,
maybe Vaughn revives his career. But solid trade for both
of these players that were just doing really nothing for
either team.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
Yeah. Interesting, BT has a perspective in the White Sox
foot them at the trade deadline. Maybe if he pitches well,
I mean, the more pitchers are going to continue to
drop off, So interesting point of view there. That's potentially there.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Let's get to the best bets of Friday.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Let's do it. I'm gonna start with Ozzi Albi's career
against Marquez four to twenty nine batting average in fourteen
at bats with a twelve eighty six OPS. So let's
have Ozzie Albi's plus one hundred to score a run today.
Let's also go to Miami that's right on the money line,
plus one hundred on the road against the Washington Nationals. Why,
because Edward Cabrera has been pretty good. I wonder if
(37:34):
the Yankees might come knocking for Edward Cabrera, not Sandy
al Contra, because it'll probably be cheaper to get him.
Just saying, let's keep an eye on on that one,
and then let's go to Milwaukee Brewers on the run
line minus one and a half, Freddy p Freddy perraulta
on the mound today plus one thirty six on that
run line. Welsh, what do you have on a fun Friday.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
Yeah, I don't hate that. I'm gonna go with Washington
on the money line a little bit minus money. But
Mitchell Parker today, I'm going to back me some. Mitchell Parker,
though that has blown up in my face a little
bit when I get behind that. He's going up against
Miami and Edward Cabrera. But I think Washington's gonna get
to them a little bit early, and I'm just taking
that money line full game. I'm gonna go to the
(38:14):
Mets and I'm gonna go through the first five run line,
so they've got to be up by a run through
the first five innings of the Mets. Clay homes going
up against Taj Bradley. I like Taj, but Toaj can
give up some of those early runs, can't sometimes go
deep into games. I think this offense is locked and
Clay Holmes is locked. So I really like that first
five run line, and I'm gonna go to my boy.
Kuld Tell could tell Marte over one point five total bases.
(38:36):
Carol's like minus one twenty five here, Kutel's a nice
switch hitter going up against Colk. I think you have
a little bit more offense than expected, so we're gonna
take those total bases over plus money plus one twenty
four a Katl, Marte Partey.
Speaker 1 (38:51):

Let's go Ronald Laconia. Time, Welsh, where are you going
for your home run call?

Let's take a weekend to p d Alonzo Peter Linzo

on that board. I want a live reaction from you.
I put in the private chat a picture Justin Turner.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
What is that is?
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Yes, Joe, it's look Joe's looking at a picture of
Justin Turner and just asked, what is that a note?
Speaker 1 (40:36):
It looks like a fake nose from like a mask
or something like. I don't know, it's not a nose.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
Take a guess and okay, the location of where it is.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
I understand the location of where it is. But what
is he doing? Why? What is he why he's dancing
with yikes? Justin Turner has lived his best life. You know,
you want to talk about a guy who's gotten more
out of a baseball career than he should have. Just
got to be one of.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Those guys, right, more than he should have?
Speaker 1 (41:03):
Well, I mean, think about it. He was a he
was a utility player for the Mets, gets traded in
some you know throw in scenario to the Dodgers, becomes
a really good, solid everyday player for the Dodgers for
a long period of time, goes into playoffs and World
Series and has all these moments, and you know they
plays with the Red Sox, plays for the Blue Jays. Now,
(41:24):
he's just kind of like a baseball lifer guy. Do
you remember, was never supposed to have a great career
and he ended up turning himself from a platoon utility
player to a very solid everyday player for a bunch
of seasons.
Speaker 2 (41:37):
You know, Joe talking about Justin Turner like that, I
think you're nuts. I think Justin Turners.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
I just saw the picture of him and I didn't
see any nuts.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
I think you're nuts.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
He was a He was a everyday player for the
Dodgers for many seasons, every day player, third basement for
the Los Angeles Dodgers. That'll do it for us with
the story of the goes on for the Welsh I'm
Joey P. We'll see you next time. Kids, have a
great weekend.
