Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy Pros MLB. This is leading
off live. It's be Joey p Joephi's if you're with me,
is Joe Rico. Back to back days, baby, and we're
here on the twitch Twitch dot tv Slash Fantasy Pros.
That's the place to be. Monday through Friday noon Eastern,
we are live. The Welsh is still on a vacation.
Well I'll say vacation, but let's be honest. He's on

(00:25):
a trip with his kids who are doing dance competition stuff.
So he is washing leotards. He is, you know, massaging
jazz hands. So nobody cramps up. It's a whole thing,
and I'm so glad. Joel Rico's joining us again to
talk some baseball. And again, if you're watching us on YouTube,
subscribe to the YouTube channel. Drop your comments below and

(00:47):
you might just win yourself a cecil fielder jersey from
Pristine Auction dot Com. Joe Rico, we're giving this bad
boy away. I think was it Monday or Tuesday. I
don't know. It's coming soon one of these days. I
guess Tuesday would be the first, so we gotta give
it on the first. So this is it your last chance?
Subscribe ring the beltsy goes ding. Like the video cecil
Fielder Jersey can be yours autographed by Big Daddy cecil

(01:08):
Fielder himself, Joe Rico. Good to see you, my friend,
yesterday a light day of baseball. Do you like the
light days of baseball where you could focus in a
little bit more on what's going on? Or you a
full slate kind of guy?

Speaker 2 (01:20):
As a content person, I tend to like the Mondays
and Thursdays where I'm able to fully appreciate the slate.
When there's fifteen games going on, especially if it's on
a weekend and the start times were all within an
hour or two, things get lost. It's impossible to watch
all the games going on at once, So when we
have a shorter slate, we can really hone in on
the important things. So let's get into it, my friend.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Yes, let's start with a question here, because I like
this one yo yo yo from the Big Dance were
starting Eavaldi and Uri Perez today. I'm a no to
both of these personally. I'll want to see it first,
especially from Perez. I need to see a little bit more.
If you're desperate, If I had to pick, only one
of them would the guy that I would pick, But again,

(02:02):
I know he threw like a fifty pitch bullpen and
he said I'm good to go. I'm still skeptical that
it's going to be a great return, But I don't know, Joe,
what do you think about Evaldi and Perez just throwing
him to the wolves today?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
I think it's a little bit risky on both fronts Now,
Arizona is missing Corbyn Carrol, which is a huge piece
of the offense, so true feel a little bit better
about that than I would have a few days ago.
With Valdi. I think it's more so just to worry
about how long he's going to go, whether it's going
to be sixty seventy pitches or if they just let
him go. I think that generally speaking, if it's a

(02:34):
daily format, I'm probably going to Valdi and leaning towards
sitting Perez, but I wouldn't have a problem sitting either
of them, just to see how they look in their
first time back.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
All right, We did have a return yesterday of Shota Imonaga.
One hit five score listenings on Thursday against the Cadinals
Seth's Cardinals. They are a producer. He came back from
the io forty six fastballs, five outs on the fastballs,
and twenty seven strikes on those, with nineteen coming on
foul ball. He struck out three guys. His era is
now two five four, His record is four to two.

(03:04):
But I keep saying the same thing, which is the
deeper lying metrics on show to Imanaga are not great.
They haven't been all year. Strikeout rate down by a
long shot. Uh walk right up. Expect the ray higher,
way higher than the regular era which is sub three
right now. I still say that if you have showed
at Imanaga and you somehow landed on Mizerowski or you

(03:25):
picked up Mobitch or you you know, whoever you have
that's been getting it done, and Emanaga can bring you
back a big bat you need, I'd be willing to
make that deal. What did you think of Imanaga's return
and what do you think of his value rest of season?
Because I feel like he's still a guy who could
bring back a ton for you in a trade.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Yeah, fairly promising return, you know, just one hit over
the five innings. But I agree with you that he
is somebody that I would be looking to sell and
I think if you know, the majority of people are
going to look at ERA and WHIP and those are
at two five four and one zero three. So I
agree that you'd be able to get a really nice return.
But eighteen percent strikeout rate is awful. That's well below average,

(04:01):
Like that's that's not even really playable in most leagues.
Down from twenty five percent last year. The walk rate's
almost doubled. You know, I'm a big expected stat guy.
If you look at the expected ERA, the FIP, the SIERRA,
they're about two full runs higher than his actual er
little no this like.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
It's a that's the thing. I keep saying. It's like
two five fours ERA, but it's expected or is four
three zero. Yeah, that's ridiculous. The expected FIP is four
a two. The FIP is four three two. I mean
this is a huge cavern Joe.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah. And I think a lot of it does come
down to the strikeouts because a lot of those metrics
do rely heavily on strikeouts and walks, and those have
been awful for him this year. But he's not a
big stuff guy. You know. The swing strike rate has
gone down this year from where it was last year.
There's not a lot that's terribly encouraging. With showed at Yumanaga.
He still gets a good amount of whiffs. But I'm

(04:49):
overall really on the side of selling him if you're
able to, and I think you are able to.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
All right, let's get to who dad who cheered? A
question here? I have a fantasy court question. Oh boy,
If two teams agree on an initial trade, but the
trade that got sent was different, sent late at night
and worse for the person who sent it, and it
was accepted, is that trade subject to a veto? Or
is this just a moral issue? I don't understand. If

(05:14):
you're sending a trade, don't you have to like agree
on the players in whatever system you're playing on, Like,
how does that work?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
I don't understand the trade that sent was different, so
you agreed on player A, player B, and then it
was somebody made a last second switch. I don't really,
But how do you make us?

Speaker 1 (05:32):
How do you do this?

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I don't like.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Look, you have to have you have to have receipts
on this and speak to the commissioner. So if you
have screenshots or you have a text thread or so.
But again, this is just weird, Like what this is
not like nineteen ninety seven where it's like, oh, I
called so and so and he said it's okay to
make this trade, and then tomorrow you have to check
the USA today to get the stats. So you make
sure that you can tabulate everything correctly. Like, what the

(05:55):
hell are we doing here? What year is it we
played on on rod O Joe? Is that where he's.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
That's very good?

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Little inside baseball, I think baseball.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I'm there. I'm really confused. No, that was that was
very good, But I'm confused. I just I think we
need a little bit more context on what the parts
are in this trade. If somebody made the last second
swap and somebody except.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I said how I don't want to send the logistics
because I want to This is where we help to
bring a person on the show and have them talking out.
Shout out to who just subbed with prime s MK teach,
Welcome to the show, baby, let's go. Let's get to
some more headlines here. Daniel Palencia for the Cubs fan
three of the five batters he faced, he got a

(06:38):
save there, so we were wondering about where Polnci is
with his bullpen. Uh, I got all three of my
bets right yesterday, Joe, so after going zero and three
back three and zero, it's a beautiful thing. Christopher Sanchez
struck out eleven guys in that game against the Astros,
and the Astros Hunter Browns struck out nine. I figured
it was going to be one of those kind of
games and it was. Shane Boz was terrific to yesterday.

(06:59):
She struck out nine in eight score listenings. Boz and
Pepio really leading the charge here for these Tampa Bay
Rays right now. And Joe, it feels like, you know,
the Rays should be buyers at the deadline, like they
they've got trade chips they always do. They can bring
in a little bit more offense, maybe something else too,

(07:20):
maybe another bullpen piece. I don't know, but I feel
like the Rays should stop fusing around, you know, like
but one of these years, especially in the American League
is so weak. I feel like this year the Central
is very weak. The West has had a lot of injuries.
The East is the Yankees, and the Yankees I don't
think are unbeatable in a short series. I don't know
if it just feels like it just if you're a

(07:41):
Rais fan and there's like three of them, and one
of them is Jason Collette. I kind of feel like
you should just go for it, Just go for it
one year.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
What do you think, Joe, Yeah, it's just their organization.
They're not gonna be the type of team to go
and acquire like if a Sodo is available or somebody
like that. But there are definitely moves they can make.
The Pirates are gonna be huge sellers. I would imagine
there's you know, if they want to reinforce the pen,
they could go for a Bednar. You can maybe go
for a Mitch Keller, although they don't really need a
starting pitcher.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
What about Reynolds.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Reynolds would be interesting. The only problem is that their
outfield has been a bit of a log jam. But
I think Brian Reynolds would slot in.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
That solves it. You know, maybe just maybe if the
deal of Candler Simpson or something like that. Michael wants
to know Uri Perez or Jacob Lopez. So who would
you rather start this weekend?

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Just for this, like, if we're talking about this week.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Lopez this weekend or well Pez is Monday.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Let me look is his next start? So he's got
a two start week next week Tampa. I thought he
was Monday, Tampa and San franc.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
So let's just say in a vacuum, who do you
want rest of season here? I'd still want Uri Perez.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
I'd still want Uri, but Lopez is a great pick up.
Next week is a pretty decent two step, although the
first part of it coming at Tampa doesn't give you
the warm and fuzzies, but that second start at San
Francisco is a pretty solid one to target. Just at Tampa.
Right now, it's a a little scary.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Chambe's wants to know. Hey, guys, trade question here ten
team head to head category League five outfielders. My outfielders
are Carol Jackson, Meryl Churio, Wood, Schwarburn. Quant's pretty good.
I need middle infield help. I've been offered Trey Turner
and Boobit for Carrol.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Take it, Take it now, Yeah, right.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Now, Chambi's take it right now, because you don't know
when he's coming back, what it looks like when he
comes back, and you've got to really, I mean, Meryl
hopefully is better in the second half. Meryl Churio, Wood,
Schwarbur Quant, that's no brainer. You got really good value.
Turner and a pitcher one hundred percent Harper Jazz rest
of season. We're talking about Bryce Harper. Come on, bro, Ryan,

(09:37):
come on.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Yeah, it's probably Bryce, but just the injury stuff. I
guess I haven't seen the most recent updates on it.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
O because Jazz is the picture of health ful Rico.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
This is true, This is true. Actually, you know what
they're saying. Harper could be activated as soon as Monday.
So yeah, that that's pretty easily.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Harper Harper all day, and Ryan says, can someone please
teach him how to sub with Amazon Prime? Talk to
our Michael Cally, producer right now, CALLI and Seth. We'll
tell you the well, let's post the instructions. That's what
we'll do. We'll post the instructions in the chat here.
Harper looks like he might be coming back Monday. Who
dad wants to know? Chase Burns, Jacob Perez or Edwardo

(10:11):
to Wardo, Edward Cabrera rest of season.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Jacob Perez, who's Jacob Perez? That Jacob Lopez and Uri Prez.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
I think he means Lopez. I think he made Uri
pres and Jacob Perez one person. I think they had
a baby. It's got to be Edward Cabrera. He's been
so steady. I know Chase Burst Burns is fun, but
again I'm not there yet.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Yeah, it's probably Cabrera, followed closely by Burns.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
For me, Michael impost is that's a clown question, bro
Kylo Brice Harper, I do. And he's a Philly in
the National his whole career, and I still love him
as a mess fan.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I was in Toronto. That quote, that lovely quoteous And then.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Of course the media agent from the Canadian Press apologized.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Why wouldn't Americans drink when they're twenty and they come
to Canada. I'm assuming they all? Do? You know he's
a Mormon, so it's a different story there, But I
mean I did. Uh.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Is Kevin Gosman the World eight innings yesterday? You just
never know. He's like a box of chocolates, isn't he?
You don't know which one you're gonna get all the time,
So you've had to. Uh, you've been into a few
of your Kevin Gosman starts yourself this year as a
blue Jay fan.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Some will make you want to spit it out right away,
and others He's delicious. This was delicious. I don't know
when you start gospel except you just leave him in
and hope for the best every week. I don't know
what else to say at this point.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yeah, I mean he loves and dies by the splitter,
and it's been better as a whole this year. He's
definitely better than last season. The stuff is back up,
the swinging strike grade is back up. His whip, which
is I tend to look at whip a lot more
than ERA, and that's at one oh six. You know,
the Era being a four to twenty one isn't great,
but all the expected eras and x fips of the
world are better. So I'm still pretty confident in him.

(11:51):
I agree that it's still a bit of a wild
card and then certain tough matchups you might want to
lean towards sitting him. But I'm still pretty confident with
Gosmin going for.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
This is an all star All Star question right here,
or quote Wild and Wonderful says, is Dad aka Brandon
woodruff ever getting back from getting the milk? No, No
he's not. He's never coming back. That's really funny. Well done,
Wild and Wonderful, Well done. That's a plus comment right there.
All right, let's get to some bats. Hero star with

(12:21):
the Marlins who got the upset junk was crap but
didn't matter because Augustin Ramirez three for five with a homer.
Kyle Stowers is a three run homer, and the Marlins
beat the crap out of Hayden Birdsong in the Giants.
Ooh we Raphael Devers in that game did go three
for four but got the upset special on the money
line plus one sixty yesterday, How you do win? Love it?
Showey Altani went one for three, So I didn't pick

(12:43):
Shoey Altani. He had home run. I picked him, he didn't,
and then I picked his teammate and he did, so
Shoey Otani, you can suck it. That's right, Shoey Altani enough.
I can't believe you. Just very frustrated with shoe Atani.
I'm so frustrated that I'm not gonna pick him this weekend.
So he's gonna h a ton of home run. Also
in that game, Clayton Kershaw went to four to oh
against the Rockies. Here in the season. His uh oh

(13:07):
oh am, I okay, did I freeze? I heard the
weird noise.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Just for a split second but you're back.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
I heard the noise, all right, Clayton Kershaw back to
him six great innings, a three zero three era now
in the season, a one point one to nine whip,
twenty nine strikeouts to thirteen walks, and thirty eight innings,
so the strikeout rate is still not great. But he's
kind of getting by on guts and guile. And it
looks like Joe Rico is now frozen here, So can

(13:35):
you can you? I can hear you, Joe Rico, but
seeing you, seeing you as the issue, so now I
can do Papa Joe, Hey, look at me. I'm from Canada.
A oh goodness, oh geez oh yeah, it's just so
excited to be here. It's a boot time. I talked
about Clayton Kershaw. Eh.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Oh yeah good. They get in the two for one.
They get in the two for today. On frozen Joe's.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Too many frozen Joe's Eh, I got a brain freeze
with all him frozen jo Yeah, sorry.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Too much time in the igloo, my friend.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Anyway, Clinton Kershaw getting but getting frozen Jone's spagel uh
getting by on guts and guile, which I think is impressive,
Like this is what you want. This is a pitcher,
you know, this is a guy going to all fame,
just like Pedro Martinez at the end. You know, he
didn't have this stuff anymore when he was pitching for
the Phillies especially, and he was just like, you know what,
I'm just gonna try to figure it out. And he's
doing it, and you know what, it turned out to

(14:25):
be a huge blessing that he came back because they
needed him this year. They've needed these thirty plus things
that they've gotten from Kershaw in the worst way.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
I would say, I agree with everything you said, but
I do think that you could probably look towards selling
him right now after a few good starts. The name
value probably isn't what it used to be. But Clayton
Kershaw with a three to zero three era, somebody who's
just lost some pitching might be interested in him. And
considering the strikeout rate going down, the walk rate being
as high as it's pretty much ever been going back

(14:53):
fifteen years, you know, if you look at the zone
contact numbers, batters are making more contact in the zone
than they ever have and they're chasing less than they
ever have before. You know, the stuff is taking a
nose dive as well. Like he is succeeding right now,
but I think that the bottom will follow it from
under him. And I wonder, you know, because he's only
a couple strikeouts away from three thousand these three away. Yeah,
once he hits that number, I wonder what the rest

(15:14):
of the season is gonna look like from him. Not
that he's gonna just stop performing after that necessarily, but
I think that's a big milestone that he wants to
hit and once we get there, I just I don't
really know what to expect from him going forward. But
if you can sell based off of this is Clayton
Kershaw he's got a three era, then I'd be in
favor of doing that.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
It's really smart. Now it would be the time to
sell on him. You never know what kind of other
injuries or the age catching up with him. Glass now.
By the way, it looks like after the All Star break,
I think they said the eleventh of July is when
they might target for him to be quote unquote ready.
That would put him right after the All Star break basically,
so that that would be if you could do it
between now and then, that's the time to do it,

(15:50):
all right, b D Joe. He need to tell us
you almost pick for the home run call today. No,
I'm not gonna tell you. Actually, I think with Soda,
who I almost picked, I didn't pick him. So there
you go. So I'll keep it real. I'll keep it real.
On the show Angel Theories, someone dropped Alby's. Do I
grab him? I have Simeon and Ronda. Would you drop
one of those guys for Alby's. It's tough.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Maybe Simeon, but Simmy has been pretty pretty damn good for.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Say, Simeon's picked things up. Roanda is the one who splits.
Scare the crap out of me. His road splits are terrible. Yeah,
knock it on the road and they got a ton
of road games coming up, like that might be the
if I'm dying to get him, that might be the
road to go to.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
It might be, but it would be tough. Around has been.
I mean, he's hting three thirty. He's been really good.
He deserves to be.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
A fifty on the road.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Yeah, I mean, I don't I don't know if I'd
have the guts to do that one. I think I
understand it, but Albis has been pretty disappointing. I mean,
I I still like Albi's a lot. I think he's
gonna turn it around, but I would probably prefer Randa
if I had to pick.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
All right, here's a fun one. Pick a Tyler. I'm
my new favorite game. It's like squid Games. Pick a
Tyler soder Strummer, Freeman. What Tyler do you want? Rest
of season? I want Tyler Freeman. I got zero hesitation
on this one.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
I think it's probably Freeman. I think that he's going
to come back to Earth a little bit. He's one
of those, you know, slap hitter guys who's going to
be a pretty good asset in your batting average, but
the Colorado lineup around him is really bad. Soderstrom would
be the pick for me if you're really desperate for power,
If you really need power, Tyler Freeman's probably not going
to do a hell of a lot for you, but
he'd probably be the pick. Eight times out of ten,

(17:20):
I'd say, all right.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
I made a joke the other day that I said
that Genesis Cabrera, you know, you start out hot when
you're working in the New York clubs or Miami Beach,
and then eventually you moved to Jersey, and then I said, eventually,
you know, you end up working at the Strip Club
by the airport in Pittsburgh. And that's exactly what happened
to Genesis Cabrera because he just got signed by the
Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday. So I call it fortuitousness, call it

(17:48):
women's intuition, I don't know, whatever you want to call it.
Somehow I'd nailed this. I nailed this, this Genesis Cabrera.
It's almost kind of creepy. The connectivity I have to
this player and the fact that he is not Fantasy
relevant but become like an unofficial mascot of the show.
It's kind of a kind of amazing. And the question
is will he Will we see him in Pittsburgh on

(18:08):
the main stage this year Joe Rico, Now.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
His name might as well be Exous Cabrera. I don't
think there's go.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Oh Bible humor. That's two Bible jokes this week on
leading off, because somebody asked if we wanted to keep
this person, this person or Christ and they said Christian
more but they just said Christ And I said, well,
you got to wait for him to come off the
IL in three days. But god, so it's two Bible

(18:37):
jokes we've gotten in a week. That's that's pretty awesome.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
That's what you're giving a couple of Italians, right, a
couple of Roman upbringings.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Hell yeah, hey man, we did all the sacraments, My
parents wrote all the checks, so that I'm not going
to help. All right, Let's get to the rookie. Lookie
cam Smith uh singled and drove in a run there.
He is now up to two seventy one three forty
three to four h two. So Cam Smith really I
think starting to pick things up. He's looked much better

(19:04):
in the last month, though I'm optimistic. I know his
struggle a bouts in April and May a little bit,
but June's looking better. And I give the Astros credit
and saying, hey, you know, we're gonna stick with this
kid for better or worse, and we're not going to,
you know, overreact. And so far as paying off Jordan Lawler,
who's a guy that I do think you should still
pick up this week. It's gonna be cheaper to pick

(19:25):
him up because he's going to miss at least a week.
He's got a hamstring injury, so I mean, he's had
so many injuries but stash him now anyway, if you
have a roster room, because come August, he's gonna be
playing every day, There's no doubt about that. Maybe even
by the All Star break, he's gonna be playing every day.
Dinnie or Fuentes is gonna make another start if the
Bray's rotation. Do you think that's a good idea, Joe Rico,
I do not, No, I don't.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
I think they're kind of pushing the issue here. He's
twenty just turned twenty years old. He hasn't looked great.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
It looks like the next drinking Canada.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Though. He can come down to my neck of the
woods and have a beer, and he might need one
if they keep him up and keep getting thrashed. I mean,
next week it's Baltimore it looks like, which isn't too bad.
And then if he stays in the rotation at Saint
Louis after that, so not terrible. But I'm going to
be taking the over in those games probably.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Yeah, I mean, certainly not been good. And again it's
just a lot of pressure on him. So Atlanta's got
to figure things out. You know, Atlanta, they have a
stretch here. This is it. These next couple of games, right,
because they play the Orioles, they play the Angels, they
play the Athletics, and I think the Cardinals in this
mix before they all star breaks. So they could still
chop away at that Wildcard. But if they don't, if

(20:32):
they go five hundred over that stretch, I think they
should call it a day, rapid flash. Thank you for resubbing.
We appreciate you. Let's get to some other questions we've
got here. We have who dat who cheered? More stuff?
Chase Burns, Jacob Perez or Edward Cape. I think we
did that.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
We did that one.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Yeah, I think we did that one. Mctunda ten team
head to head got offered Bishett and Jacob Azarowski for Lindor. No,
not trading Lindor.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Yeah, it's a no, it's not too far off. It's
in the ballpark. But I want a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah, I get it. I understand Misrawski's fun, but let's
not get crazy here.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Miserowski's probably gonna have to miss time at some point
with how fast he throws. I hate to be Debbie Downer,
but like he's gonna need a surgery. He's throwing one
hundred and two every time, like it's gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Oh, that's the whole thing. Like everyone's doing themselves over
Chase Burns and Miserowski and it's fun. Misterowski, especially right now,
is super fun. But if you really think he's not
headed towards Tommy John, you're crazy. Right now. This might
be the time too, if you have him as an
asset in a Diynosa are keeper league where somebody's just
gonna be willing to just throw the kitchen sink at
you in a trade. If you want to take that

(21:33):
and go win a league, do it. I would do
it right now because he at some point he's gonna
miss the season and change. It's just gonna It's just
a fact at some point that geek wants to know.
Stash Jilander or Lawler, Chase de Launder or Chase the
latter for sure.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Yeah, Lawler the way they used him before, when they
called him up, he didn't even play like. I think
that'll be different next time. But I think the latter
is the better. Stash for sure.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Yeah, we got a lot of the latter questions here.
The answer is yes, stash him now if you can.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
You're going with the guy said he would be taking
hup a bench spot. You'ld be willant to burn a
bench spot for him.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
Yeah, because I think he's going to be up before
the break. Okay, I think the I think the I
think there's desperation there, you know, Manzarto with all the
errors yesterday, Like you can't have that guy play in
the field. Carl Santana's four hundred years old, like you
got you got to give this team some kind of
life Angel theory? Should I trade or hold Carol? I
have a solid outfield without him, then trade him, bring

(22:24):
in a pitcher, give yourself something like, don't wait a
month for him to come back. Could be a month,
could be more. It might not look good when he
comes back. Like there's so many variables here that I
just don't want to do it. One other rookie I
want to talk about too, right hand to prospect of
the Yankees, And no, I'm not making this up. Get ready,
everybody cam Schlitter through six shutout innings for triple A.

(22:47):
So Schlitter really, you know, is delivering. He really let
it all hang out. Six six righty four starts a
triple A. He's got a one sixty nine rat nine
to eight whip thirty three strikeouts to eight walks in
twenty one innings. So jokes aside, right now, the slitter
is a looks pretty good. It sounds like a pitch

(23:09):
you make up the schlitter.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Yeah, a slider and a splitter and a change up.
I think they're gonna just put Marcus Stroman in this
rotation when he's back and bring up I hate that,
but that's probably what they're gonna do because he's getting paid.
I mean, I hope the stream doesn't get fagged again today.
It looks like we may well, you never know.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
It was more like a split slitter, you know, sometimes
that happens.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
I don't know. I don't know that the Yankees are
gonna call him up this year and actually use him.
That's kind of the that's kind of the concern. Okay.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
I'm just thinking of all the jokes that are log
Jimmy in my brain. You know, don't let the door
hit you where the Lord shlit you. I don't know.
You know what, we didn't get flagged for a Rusty Koon's.
We got flagged because some sort of betting thing like that.
At the end of the day, that's how he got flagged.
I'm like, betting is fine. We do it. I mean,

(24:06):
we literally have a thing called betting pros Like I
don't understand, like, oh YouTube, silly goosey. Yeah, but choke aside,
Cam schlitter right now has been really good, So got
to make room for this litter.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
They should, they should, but well they well the Yankees.
You think he could be called up this year?

Speaker 1 (24:25):
I think the Yankee I think Aaron Boone would rather
have to try to what would be torture for Aaron
Boone trying to think like Aaron Boone would would probably
want to tear his acl playing basketball again like he
did that time when they went to then go get
a rod then have to watch Marcus Stroman through another
pitch for the Yankees, That's what I think. Do you agree?

Speaker 2 (24:48):
I hope you're right. We will see what they end
up doing because Stroman's making how much money? Eighteen million dollars,
So I think they're probably gonna put him back in
the rotation when he's ready. But I'm with you, he
doesn't deserve it. He shouldn't be there. But I think
that's the way the wind's blowing.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
Well, you know, I hope it blows closer to the shlid,
because that's the guy I wanted to see in the Bronx.
Let's go three up and three down. Pete Alonzo three
for four with a double, Mets back on top, back
in first place. Let's go. Everyone's always god the doom
and gloom around the Mets when they lose a couple
of games.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
It's hilarious.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
It's happened twice now, and I'm like, can we take
a breath? Like I know it, Mets fans, I get it.
It's been along and winding, tough road and you're used
to disappointment. Just just ride the wave. Just chill out, man,
It's a long season. Junior camon Aro solo home run.
How good is kamon Aro been in the last six weeks? Man?
I mean, let's talk about him right now, right now?
Is he a first round pick in twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
I don't think he's a first round pick. I think
he's like a second third.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
I don't think he's a third. I think he's a
second rounder at least. I think it's a phrase. Is
he a top twenty player next year?

Speaker 2 (25:57):
It feels a little aggressive. I think that he's I
mean it's maybe close. Right now, he's thirty fifth to
date on the season, so yeah, he's probably close to it.
If it's a fifteen teamer, I could see him going
in the I think he's like top.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
How about this? How about this this year? Here's his
pace for this year? You're ready for Kemanaro's pace? You ready?
You got? You got your socks on? Okay, because I
can blow blow your socks up. His pace is forty
one oh two ninety six runs scored, ten stolen bases.
What do you think? Sure he's not a first round pick?
Sounds like a first round pick to me. Let's say

(26:31):
he ends up. Let's say he ends up with thirty four, uh,
thirty four, one hundred and ninety and seven steals. That
sounds like a first round pick to me, or close
to it.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
I still think he's probably closer to the second. I
wouldn't fight anybody if he was ending up in like
the back end there. But just thinking about that first round,
I don't know that he is going to get into
the top like Otani, Judge, Akunya, Ellie Wit, Jose Ramirez, Tucker,
would Carol Tatti, Sodo, Lindor like it's just really tough

(27:05):
to get into that top group. But maybe I think
the second round. I think I think the second round
makes sense for him, all.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Right, rehtt In. Shout out to Rehttin who just resubbed here. Also,
there's a question we were having trouble getting it up there.
But I'm sorry, written by Zach. That's what I'm sorry.
I read it wrong. When everything's written out for me,
I struggle. This is weird dyslexia, Like I am ron
Burgandy Written by Zack. Thank you for resubbing. But right
when I read it quick, it looked like, you know,

(27:34):
Rhett in biasaic to me, I don't know. These are problems.
Blame public schools. Is there any value I can get
a Jung Ho Lee? At the moment, I want to
drop him, but I feel like I can get something
for him, So Simpson, Brian Reynolds, any of those guys
that those are the people they have in their outfield.

(27:54):
I don't know. I mean, Jungle Lee is just fine.
If there's something better on the waiver wire, I will
I would drop him for a pitcher or a closer,
potentially something like that. It seems like a shallow league
kind of question here to me, But what do you
think about jung Huley rest of season? Just kind of
get that out there.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Yeah, I don't mind moving on from him. Like as
much as I like him as a player, he doesn't
provide a ton of fantasy juice, especially while the batting
average is what it is, two sixty seven babbit, But
I think that turns around. So he probably hits two
seventy or two eighty rest of the way, but won't
be a lot of homers, won't be a lot of steals.
I think in a lot of cases you can move
on and you have a solid outfield, So I don't
really mind it.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Uh. The other up here, Michael Bush went two for
four his thirteenth homer against the Cardinals. And where do
he do it? Bush Stadium? Gotta love that. That's a
first Bush going yard in Bush cam Schlider, dogs and
cats living together, mass hysteria. Carlos Santana oh for four
with three strikeouts. He leads the Downs. Jansen Junk was

(28:52):
junk no decision against the Giants. Boo five runs, eight hits,
three and two thirds. Oh wow, so much for Jansen Junk.
You look good in a couple of starts before that,
Hayden Birdsong. Oh, you think the Giants have some regrets there,
some regirts. Potentially seven runs on four hits. He gave up.
They give up the wrong guys, so they should have
given up bird Song and not Kyle Harrison. You think

(29:14):
in that trade, Joey, what do you think?

Speaker 2 (29:16):
I don't know about that. I think they're probably about
even going forward. Maybe Harrison was a little more viable
just being the lefty, but I don't think either of
them are exceptional arms bird Song, like, considering the run
of opponents he's had recently, this has been really bad. Like,
I wouldn't mind moving on for him as well, for
talking at ten or a twelve teamer.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
All right, we're gonna keep taking questions today too. It's
a fun Friday, we're having a good time. Welsh is away,
so we could do whatever the hell we want. Let's
get to some more discussions about the Giants actually, which
brings us to our Microsoft Chasing Challengers segment, everybody's favorite
part of the show. Just like the athletes who push

with safe, secure AI solutions. So whatever challenges you're facing,
Microsoft empowers you with the expertise to say bring it on.
And in this segment we spotlight the challenges faced by
the San Francisco Giants. I want to talk about the
Giants for a moment. Giants have had a really good season.

(30:17):
Logan web has been terrific. The ownership says, hey, we're
gonna go and take on a bunch of money from
Raffield Devers. We signed will you a Domas, We were
trying to sign Aaron Judge. Arson Judge tried to sign everybody,
Carlos Correa. I remember that. Remember they tried to say
Carl's Correa. Nothing worked for the Giants. But finally they're
kind of figuring things out. But there's still six and

(30:39):
a half games behind the Dodgers despite all of that.
And I look at the pitching staff and after Webb
and I know Robbie Ray's pitched really well. I definitely
have my concerns about what's going on. I think the Giants,
if they're really serious, they can't rely on Verlander and
bird Song at the end of this rotation, they just
can't do it, So we got to look somewhere else.
I think maybe the Giants, if they're truly serious, and

(31:00):
they must because they're only a half game out of
the Wildcard, maybe they should be out there pounding the
payment for another starting pitcher, because I don't think what
they've got currently constituted the back end at four and
five are really enough for them. You hope that the
Bats can come around a little bit, but maybe, just maybe,
if you're the San Francisco Giants, you sense a little
bit of a weakness here on the Dodgers, especially with
all the pitching injuries they've had, that if you could

(31:21):
just get to the playoffs and get into a short series,
maybe you could take out the Dodgers. I don't think
it's impossible. Heck, the Padres almost did it last year.
So those are the challenges facing the San Francisco Giants,
who are doing a good job. Giants fans should be
very happy with what the ownership has done there. And

let's talk about the injuries. Joe Carlos Mendoza said that
Griffin Canning may have suffered achilles injury, and it certainly
did look like it. It was terrible looking, very sad.

(32:06):
Griffin Canning has been terrific this year for the Mets,
I mean complete turnaround for him. So again, it's like
when it rains of poors and right now it is
raining cats and dogs and the Mets healthy rotation because
it has gone from the top the healthiest to now
we're like, uh, when is seaum and I coming back?
Is he coming back next week?

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (32:26):
My god, I hope. So, so what do you make
out of this latest injury and what the Mets should
do after it?

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Now, Well, didn't and I have some kind of setback.
Didn't they just push him back or something?

Speaker 1 (32:34):
He had loose bodies in his elbow? So basically what
they do for that is they give you a courtzone
shot and they say suck it up, buttercup. That's basically
what they say. And then in the off season you
have that surgery to remove the loose bodies and get
recover and you're fine. Ron Darling on the broadcast, you
pitched for many years, very good pitcher in the major leagues.
He had it twice and he said, yeah, it's a
pain tolerance thing and he should be able to tolerate it basically.

(32:57):
But what do you expect. He's an eighty six met
So all those guys were built a little differently.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
I don't know, man, what's like if I'm counting on
Manaia to throw quality innings for the match or for
my fantasy teams, you should probably make alternative, alternative arrangements.
At this point, I don't know really what they're gonna get.
I mean, we talked yesterday about the potential for Jacob
de gram reunion. Maybe they go after a Keller or
another name on the market, Sandy maybe, but they need

(33:24):
some reinforcements At this point. McGill gone, code, I sanga,
who knows when he's coming back? Man, who knows when
exactly he'll be around and what he'll look like. I
think they need to make when.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
I is playing catch Thursday, so the fact that he's
playing catch again. You hope that he goes back out
on the rehub. I'm expecting him again like the glassdown play,
like he's back after the All Star break.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
I don't think they can have Paul Blackburn starting meaningful
games down the stretch. I think that needs to stop.
That needs to change.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Well and Montas, I mean, like, I'm still in awe
of what I saw with Frankie Montes. If Montas can
well in thestead, that's huge. If they can get Manaya back,
I can get about before the All Star break awesome,
like he was getting real close and until the setback,
So I can only imagine the setback is gonna pus
him til after the All Star break. Now, So that's fine,

(34:15):
Like I'm okay with that, especially because he had so
many innings last year. That's the other thing too, seem
and I had a giant amount of innings plus all
the postseason innings, and those were laborious postseason things. He
was in some big pressure situations and he performed very well.
So I could see them putting that off Senga. You
can hope that you get Sanga back too. I just
don't know if that's enough. Like I think you need

(34:35):
another insurance policy. I don't know who that is, but
I think the Mets would be wise to go all
in and make a splash and do something there. I
think that's what we should do. All right, let's do
the next bit here for injuries. Also, Mark Viento's was
supposed to be activated yesterday, but it's gonna be activated
to today instead. Jose Ramirez left the game yesterday. I
got hit on the arm. It was a bruise. Everything

(34:57):
was checked out. I don't know if he's get into
the line up today or all of those lines that
come out yet since we started, but he's day to day,
so maybe he sits today and back by Saturday. We'll see.
Vlad Guerrero Junior also got hit. A lot lots of
guys getting hit yesterday, Joe, what'd you think of all
the uh, all the guys getting dinged yesterday? Big time
players too, Vladdie and Jose Ramira.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Well, they hit Vlattie two days in a row. So
Gosman went out there and threw a fastball at Jay
rams side and he ended up like moving his arm
and it hit him in the arm a little bit.
But I kind of like it. Maybe he's just come on,
Blue Jays fan. I'll be a little bit biased in
the situation, but like, if you're gonna throw at our
star player two days in a row, then we're gonna
throw out your star player. That's just the way it works.

(35:40):
That's baseball, old school baseball.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Old school baseball. Okay, let's get to cave Povich. Will
had five runs in a rehab start. Not good, three
of them earned. Bryce Harper took seventy five swings off
a pitching machine. That's good. Royce Lewis has been out
since June thirteenth with a strain hamstring. He is starting
his rehab today, so what could go wrong? Zach Off
one two for four into rehab with two doubles, so

(36:02):
who's hoping to get back soon? To the Athletics, Lance
mccullors could return to the rotation tomorrow. Would you start
Lance mccullor is coming off that foot issue tomorrow. If
you had him on your roster.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Joe tomorrow would be mmm, Cubbies. I don't know, man,
I don't know if I could do that first time
out against the high powered offense. I think I'd pass
passer tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Okay, and lastly, Christian Javier through batting practice on Wednesday.
The hope is he comes back on in sometime in August.
I think this is what they're looking for. That brings
us to the best bets of the day with Joey
p and Joey Oh, that's right, all the joes. Joel
Rico is going to show you his O face during
the bets today. Oh oh, let's get to Seattle on

(36:46):
the moneyline minus one twelve. Logan Gilbert on the mount
against Nadye Evaldi in his return. I was just gonna
take my shot here. I mean, Logan Gilbert spectacular. I'm
getting just barely juice on this one. I'll flip the
coin in honor of Logan Gilbert and take a shot
here with Seattle, especially that offense with cal Rawly's been
on fire. So let's do that. Let's think that Nadiavaldi's
probably a four inning starter today, maybe maybe five, probably

(37:09):
more like four. Let's get into that Texas bullpen Wan
Soto against the Pittsburgh Pirates in Pittsburgh to driving a
run plus one thirty yes please, and Aaron Judge against
the Athletics this weekend. Get ready, boys and girls, and
other hot streaks coming against the Athletics here minus one
ten to drive in a run two. So, Joe Rico,
what do you have lined up for the boys and
girls on a fun Friday with bets?

Speaker 2 (37:30):
So I'm starting off with Brian Bao, who has been
quite a bit better as of late, under one and
a half walks. You're getting it at plus one twenty. Now,
his command can be something that's a little shaky at times,
but if you're looking over the course of the month
of June, Toronto is walking less than any other team
in baseball to six and a half percent, So I
feel pretty good about that one at plus money. A
little bit on the safer side with landon Route over
four and a half strikeouts going up against the White

(37:52):
Sox today, a team that strikes out quite a bit.
They're not the top strikeout team in the league, but
if you're just looking at June, the fourth worst strikeout
rate at twenty five point eight percent, So I feel
pretty good about that one as well. And then Sunny Gray.
I'm doing a little bit of a parlay here just
to get the better line. Sonny Gray over five and
a half strikeouts against Cleveland and their future to offense
and also going with the Cardinals money line in that

(38:13):
one for plus one ninety so like in all three
of those, Brian Bayo under one and a half, Walks
landon Route over four and a half strikeouts, and then
Sonny Gray over five and a half k's combined with
the Cardinals money line.

Let's go to the home run board and you can
see me on this thing. Ever, jo Rico, are you
calling home runs? Calling you out?

Speaker 2 (39:01):
I called him not every single day. I missed a
lot of time earlier in the year, and I am
so far behind at this point that I need, like
some Carlos Delgatto for home run games to get back
into the mix here.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
So I need some miracles to Carlos Delgatto was a
catcher when he came up.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Remember that, I adored him. He was technically on the
ninety three World Series team and he didn't. I don't
think he played in the playoffs, but I believe he
got a ring for that as a catcher, as the
backup catcher to Pat Borders.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Was I did not really have Pat Borders would have
been the catcher. Yeah, Kelly Gruber, Pat Borders, John Olarude
Devon White.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
N three team man, Ricky Henderson, Dave Winfield like that,
ninety three team, Jack Morris, Steve, like that, what a
team Dave Steve.

Speaker 1 (39:42):
Had Dave Steve pitched in New York or Chicago or
even La, Dave Steve probably would be in the Hall
of Fame. Dave Steve was a terrific pitcher, but he
just he pitched in Toronto, and I never thought he
got the credit he deserved. Like I used to love
to watch that guy pitch. That guy was trum amendous
and I'm surprised. I'm delighted and surprised that you have

(40:03):
such a lord there because you were were even born then,
like barely, Like.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
No, I wasn't a live for the World Series teams,
but I am as a baseball I wouldn't say I'm
a historian, butever students of the game, and especially for
my Welsh as an idiot.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
You know, I love Welsh, but he's an idiot. You
mentioned something. He's like, I wasn't even born. I'm like,
I don't care. I could talk to you about the
seventy five.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
Reds JFK was assassinated. I wasn't born for that. You know,
that's right. You know things are making up.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
It is the internet. Now we're really gonna get flagged here.
I'm going this weekend for a home run call with
Aaron Judge that's right in his ballpark against the Athletics.
They can't pitch it all. Give me a couple of
home runs. Get me on that board, Aaron Judge, get
me on that board. I want three from you this weekend.
I'm asking for a lot. I need a lot. Let's go,
Aaron Judge. Joe, where are you going for your home run?

(40:53):
Call this weekend.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
I'm going to say as Azuki going up against Brandon
Walter and I'll take that in perpetuity throughout the weekend
against the Astros. You know, lefty versus righty. Suzuki's hit
three home runs this week. He's been great this season,
especially in the power department. So I'll take that one
and I believe it's plus three seventy five depending on
your book.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
Fun show today. It was great hanging out with all
of you. I want everyone have a wonderful weekend. We'll
come back and see you on Monday. That'll do it
for us, But the story of the game goes on.
For Joe Rico, I'm Joey P. We'll see you next time. Kids.
