Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hello, everybody, Welcome back in to another episode of the cycle.
This is our second video of the week, and if
you missed the first one, Rounding the Bases, where we
talk about all the all TRN kinds of trending players
and news notes and injuries, you can go back and
catch out that first video. Catch that first video, and
in this video we're going to be talking about players
were buying low, players were selling high, and so waiver

(00:25):
wire targets, and so let's dive right into it with
buy low Sell high. And in this segment, Kelly and
I will both give our favorite by lows and our
favorite sell highs. And Kelly, since you are the guest
and I am forced to host with Worm taking a vacation, apparently,
let's toss it to you first for your favorite buy

(00:47):
low player this week.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah. So I was looking at yiner Dias this week.
I like, I really like the fact that he's catcher
and first base eligible, just because most of the time
I'm not all about going and chasing catchers. But he's
got kind of that duel that you can plug him
and play him in each spot, but all of his
underlying numbers point toward improvement, right now he has just

(01:11):
I wrote down it's a putrid line, which that's not
a word I use all that often. He's got seven
home runs, but that's been turned up. As of late,
he's got twenty runs scored and he only has twenty
four RBIs. But one of the biggest culprits I think
is that his current babbub is two fifty five and
his career number there is three h nine, So he's

(01:33):
expected to gain about fifty points in batting average and
like alle hundred and forty points of slugging, and like
those are like the two numbers that I'm really looking at.
So I think that the power is going to come.
And if somebody is tired of holding on to him,
or has two catchers or whatever, I wouldn't have any

(01:54):
problem kind of offering a lower piece just to see
if I can pick him off.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yeah, catcher has been a weird position this year. Obviously,
cal Raley is doing incredible things. I am not at
all bitter about that. As someone who drafted cal Raley
in an auction league and then there was an issue
with the previous pick, and so then they backed out
and redid that pick, and then kind of almost fast

(02:20):
forwarded through cal Raley and I didn't get him back,
and I'm like, look, I already drafted cal Raley. Can
we redo that one? So not bitter about that at all,
especially it's a very expensive league. But you know, we'll
talk about that and then at the time not he's
this place for how mad I am about that, But

(02:42):
I mean, cal Raley is doing incredible. Adley Richman not
doing great, so if you spent a high pick on him,
William Contreras is having a weird year. Wilson Contreras also
having a weird year, though both of the contrast brothers
have been better of late. Second best player catcher in
fantasies far the season as everyone predicted, Hunter Goodman, and

(03:04):
then some of the usual suspects, will Smith, Local Hoppy,
William dre or, Shane Langliars, Carson Kelly who let off
the season with a cycle. So if we're looking at
season today, vbr jannyr Direz is fifteen, so not even
a starting caliber through the first two months in the
twelve team league. But I think we all, as you said,

(03:27):
believe he's a better hitter than that, and that you know,
if he's someone let's see he's still rostered in the
majority of leagues. He may have been dropped in some
one catcher leagues by now, but I do think he's
someone you can buy low. And if I look here,
he does DH sometimes, which is also helpful. You know,

(03:48):
you for those catchers since they get so many days off,
you do want someone who has the kind of bat
that the team wants to keep in the lineup, so
even when they get days off their DH and you know,
like you said, he's first is eligible as well. But
you know, I think most of the value was playing
catcher for.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Sure, And as long as Alvarez is out then you
know the Astros are going to need on his days off.
Then he does, I think fit into that DH slot
pretty easily. So yeah, I think he's a decent Bilow
at this point.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Well, the good news is that Jordan Alvarez has a
broken hand, and they didn't know for the second year
in a row, so I don't know if X rays
are more expensive in Houston, but they certainly don't like.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
To do him until test for that. Guys there really are.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
All right for my by Low, And I wrote in
the sheet, I'm admitting this and I'm stealing this from
Joe Pisapia, which I don't like to do often. I
don't like to agree with Joe. I don't like to
take content from him. But he wrote up Wan Soto
as a as a by Low in this week's trade
article on fantasypros dot Com. And I know a lot

(04:59):
of people, a lot of people came after Worm earlier
in the year because he had Gunner Henderson as Bilow.
Maybe it was a little too early in the year
for Bilow and Gunner Henderson. But Juan Soto has underachieved,
especially if you're a Mets fan. But pretty much all
of his numbers are incredible, and I think most people

(05:20):
agree he's going to continue to be Juan Soto. The
question is what does the trade look like? You know,
what are you getting for him? Or what what would
you have to give up to get him? And another
reason I wanted to bring this up because it's because
I thought Joe had some interesting names here that I'll
toss to you. So he said he would flip Pete
kor Armstrong or Corbyn Carroll Restless season straight up in

(05:42):
order to get Juan Soto. So what do you think
about I guess all three of them.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Did he say the two of them together or just
one of them? What? Okay, if someone will give you
one Soto for Peak Armstrong, you do that without You
don't even have to talk to any of us, just
just do it. So that's a non that's a non consideration, Corman.
Carroll is a little bit more of an if just
because of the speed. But yeah, I mean if you

(06:09):
take go to so Soto's statcast page and tell me
that you know you don't want that or you don't
think that he's going to bounce back, So yeah, I
would do it. I would. I think I could flip
Carol for him too at this point. But for sure,
Crol Armstrong, oh my god, do it.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I don't. I don't think it's that outlandish anymore. Like
I know people are going to put their nose upbout
that offer, but I don't know. I'm not a I've
talked about it on the show. I'm not a huge
believer in Peak or I'm strong, But like, the more
this goes on, the more I'm like, all right, here
we go.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
I'm a Cubs fan, yeah, I mean, I'm a coach fan.
I love him. I think he's fantastic. And again I don't.
I just wouldn't. I wouldn't even hesitate. That's not even
a thing.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Well, allow me to read for you the top three
players in VBR, which is just consider it fantasy value
is what it means on Fantasy pros Number one, Aaron Judge,
number two show Hey Otani, and the number three, Peak
Strong third most valuable player in fantasy through two months,

(07:14):
and Juan Soto is If I scroll, I might have
to abandon the squad, might have to search forty four kay,
forty one spots behind Peak or Armstrong. I do not care, Okay,
I'm just saying it's not as ridiculous as you think.

(07:38):
Corb and Carroll number said, right. I So if you
had to rank the three of them rest of the year,
you would do what Carol Soto, arm Strong or Sodo Caroltrong?

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Okay, from now until the end of the year.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Yes, I think I would do Carol. I think Juan
Soto is a better hitter. I think in fantasy you
might get more out of Corwin Carrol, even though I
have been really scared by that shoulder, but it seems
like that's in the distant past now. But so has

(08:17):
been running?

Speaker 2 (08:18):
What does he have?

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Seven stolen bases, seven stolen bases, eleven home runs, seven
stone base that two thirty two average. I mean, I'm
completely on board. I think he's going to be better,
and I think he's doing, you know, probably the best
all around hitter in baseball. Stolen bases are a bonus
because you're not always counting on those from him. But
I thought it was an interesting conversation. You know, I

(08:41):
don't really always like to grab like the low hanging
fruit on some of these right by loves, but I
did think, especially because of the names he mentioned in
the trade, I was like, all right, that's interesting, we
should talk about that. All right, let's go over to
you for your so.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
High for myself, Oh right, okay. So I took a
little flak in the YouTube comments last week about when
I said there's no clear Ricky of the Year in
the American League, and someone commented, like, has she never
heard of Jacob Wilson? And what I want to say
is that I like him. I've always I like the
I like the athletics, I like I mean, I think

(09:19):
he's great. He's having an amazing season, fantastic, Okay, that
is out of out of my system. I just feel
like I was I wrote that I felt like it
could turn into an empty season. So like I like
to say that like when there's sometimes there are players
who have there're just an empty this so like empty
batting average or like what was the guy's name, also

(09:40):
an athletic who was just he was an empty stolen
base like you know, no it was the other guy.
But anyway, I'll think of it later and just shout
it when I when it comes up to me. But
in general, like my biggest issue with Wilson is he
has a barrel rate of two point eight percent. I
just don't know how you survive a two point eight
percent barrel rate. His expected by an average is fifty

(10:04):
points lower than it is than it currently is. His
expected slugging is a one hundred and fifteen points lower,
and even is like weighted on base average is like
seventy points lower. So I feel like there's I feel
like he may continue to hit for contact, he may
continue to hit for average. I just don't know, like
if all of that has to come down, then that

(10:24):
means he's going to struggle to get it there. So
I would be willing to sell high on him at
this point.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Yeah, I'm with you there. I don't know why I
said Billy Hamilton he never played for the A's. I
just immediately jumped to empty stolen bases. Just maybe think
of Billy R. A.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Stearyise that was oh.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, who like was like incredible at stilling
basis and then just like wasn't in the league anymore
one day. I actually because because I had him in
the head to head dynasty league, he was like a
cheat code for like winning stolen bases every week, and
so like I resisted trading him like this. One tried
to trade him all year and I was like, dude,
I'm not trading him to you, like I love the

(11:03):
stone bases. And then like the next year he had
no value. He's just gone. It's not as bad as
giving up a first round pick for ans and you're Richardson,
but it's pretty bad. But I agree with you. I
liked him coming into the year. I wasn't. I kind
of thought he might be in that realm of like
better in real life than he is in fantasy. He's

(11:26):
wildly outperformed with my expectations. He does not walk I
forget how long it was into the season, but it
was like a few weeks where he had zero walks
at one point for like a long stretch. But he
also doesn't strike out. He just like swings and hits
the ball and like gets on base. So yeah, I

(11:47):
uh more stolen bases than I was expecting, because here
has he has five and he only had let's see, eight, ten,
twelve his entire minor league career. Granted that's only two
years r minor league career, but you know, I wasn't
expecting him to have five already. And similar things for
home run, he has seven home runs through fifty nine games.

(12:08):
When he I guess in the miners he had seven
and fifty three games. So but like he's another one
who kind of like flew through the miners just because
of the hit tool. I don't know. I kind of
like him though, like that batting average is so good.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Yep again, I'm not like I mean, I like I
always say light hitting middle indfielders, like I'm drawn to
them without the power. But yeah, I just if we're
looking at a cell high I feel like right now
everybody knows his name he is, He's doing great. If
you can flip him for something that you need, and
a lot of people need batting average, so they might

(12:46):
be able to sell I mean they might be able
to pay up for him.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
I expected the batting average to come down. It's actually
going up since the beginning of the year. He batted
three twenty five in April, three sixty eight in May,
and then through three games in June. Obviously small sample
size five eighty three. And I kind of inspected the
batting average to come down just because someone who doesn't

(13:11):
walk a lot, you know, a lot of times those
you know what you would what would be like, oh,
in two games, oh for two games or over four
games now, so sometimes the batting average can plummet pretty
quickly beca if you don't walk. But since he also
doesn't strike out, he's just like putting the ball in
play and getting on base. And it's pretty wild, all right.

(13:32):
For my cell high. It's interesting. I stole my bilo
from Joe, and I'm stealing my cell high from Welsh.
And I will say that the one that Welsh picked,
I was actually thinking about this myself while I was
driving in the car the other day to pick up
my kids. I was just thinking this about this player,
and I was like, I wonder if, as someone who

(13:54):
rosters cal Raleigh, would I be willing to sell high
on him just because he's so incredibly valuable right now,
or would I be crazy to be giving up this
power cheat code I have in the cutcher position and
I ultimately landed on It would depend on what I'm
getting back and what's available on waivers in terms of

(14:17):
the cut your position, and I feel like you can
sell high on cal Raley just and Welf wrote it
up in the article. He's like, look, you know, we're
not saying he's not really good and he's not going
to hit forty home runs. He's just not going to
hit sixty home runs. And that's the pace he's on
right now, and a lot of people need catching help
and it's really enticing to look at it, like, Hey,

(14:38):
I can just plug in cal Rally and not think
about catcher for the rest of the season and know
that I'm going to get twenty more home runs and
there's a lot of value in that. And so from
that perspective, it would depend on what I can get.
I'm going to pull up the Fantasy grows trade value
chart real quick. But what do you like? Is it

(15:00):
it's crazy to sell high on Cayl Rawley just because
of what you're getting at the catcher position. And I
will say, in that league I was talking about before
in the previous video the Dynasty Keeper, one one of
the reasons I am doing so well is because it's
head to head and I have Cal Rowley, and so
my my in a points league, like my catcher is
just like I only have one top twenty five player

(15:20):
in the whole league and it's Cal Rowley.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Right, Yeah, I mean, who are you going to put in? Like,
I think that's the question. What's the drop off in
terms of production? I mean, if you have Hunter Goodman,
apparently you're good to go. But I think that's that's
my issue with trading him, because yeah, I hate I
hate dealing with catchers. I hate drafting catchers. I hate
trying to figure out who's going to hurt me the least.

(15:44):
And so the rally trade off has always been he'll
hit forty He'll hit forty forty five home runs for you,
he's going to not that like above two thirty ever,
But it's I just don't know who else you'd fill
in there unless there's someone that you absolutely like, if
there's another position you need, yeah, it's more just like okay,

(16:05):
so then who who starts in the catcher slot.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
So let's say you can pick up Tyler Stevenson or
Augustine Ramirez or I think Welsh mentioned picking up like
a Bilo in Austin Wells, and you can you need
a picture, you need pitching help, and you can flip
cal Rawley. Let's look at some of these names. Does

(16:31):
Dylan cease to do it for you? Or not enough? Oh? Okay,
I didn't think. So what about Logan Wet.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Maybe Framberg Valdez that one I would be more interested
in you.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
This is the one that jumped out to me as
like fair right away? Its Hunter Brown?

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Yes, yeah, how good?

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Hunter Brown is really good?

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
But that's the value Like looking at the trade value chart,
that's where the that's where we're at, and it's only
there's only like one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
like eight pictures according to this chart, like with more
value than cal Rally right now, and it's like Scooble, Skimes, Crochet, Wheeler, Sale, Yamamoto.
And then like even even to gram I would do

(17:14):
de Gram. I think I would rather have cal Raley
than de Graam. I would say, but Hunter Brown, Carl
Reagan's is up there, but like that's how good he
is or has been at that position, and that's where
that's where we're at, all right, anything else on cal

(17:34):
Raley or any other bilo's tell high notes before we
move on.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
I just love kil Rally, so it'd be really hard
for me to trade on. But I yeah, I mean
I can see it if there's something, but you have
to aim high, like I would want to sell him
high high, not just beat high.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
So yeah, a lot of times in this space where
like we're talking about our suggestions, like here's someone I
really want to buy low, Here's what someone I really
want to sell high. I picked cal Raley this week
because I think it's a fascinating conversation to think about.
I think, like you said, it would be hard for
me to move on from him, and it would it
would have to be. I need pitching in Hunter Brown's
the offer. You know, so you train hard, you show up,

(18:15):
but lately something feels off. Fatigue lingers, recovery takes longer,

I did not see that word coming.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Yeah, that one was a little trippy.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Well was moving fast. I saw e facy coming up
and I was like, oh, I gotta remember how to
pronounce this one. You did well, thanks. I didn't read
it as fast as worm worm. I really enjoyed how
fast you read it. And I was like, well, people
at two x feed are really going to enjoy how
fast you read that. And it did not disappoint people
in the comment agreed comments agreed. Now so we did

(19:59):
by though so high. We did theky stricks read. Let's
do Waivers Central, and we're going to talk about our
favorite hitters and favorite pitchers we're adding this week and
then a few other deep league targets. So let's start
with you and your favorite hitter on waivers this week.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
So I almost went with tyro Strada, but I pivoted
to Hayesan Kim because I believe he's coming back pretty
soon for Tampa, so he's I mean, you know, I
don't know how you suggest a Rocky ever, but so
I went with Kim. He's in a better lineup. I
think he's just best at it if you have like
a middle infield slot. But it's reasonable that he could

(20:37):
steal like fifteen plus bases and maybe hit ten home
runs for the rest of the year. So if you're hurting,
I think in that in the shortstop area or you know, again,
somewhere in there where you need to pick up a
few extratal and basses. I feel like he's a decent pickup.
And he's only rostered in like three percent of leagues.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
So yeah, And it is important to mention now because
he plays for the Rays and I'm trying and pronounce
he's correctly. Uh where's my pronunciation shirt, I don't see
it now. So he's has Young Kim who plays for

(21:15):
the Rays. They're The other name is Hesse Young King.
Hey Hiss Young Kim. I can't pronounce it. Who plays
for the Dodgers. Two different players, very similar names, especially
for Americans struggling to pronounce them. And I'm not finding
the pronunciation chart I was looking for, so useless. But

(21:40):
the one you're talking about is h dash se O
n G Kim and he's a veteran who's been in
the league for a while. The other one on the
Dodgers is a rookie playing part time for the Dodgers.
But both pretty good players. What's similar profiles do with?
You know, some kind of like a little bit of
power and some speed. Yeah, I think the you're really

(22:04):
looking for speed from has Young Kim and hopefully the
Rays don't just like send him to the minors like
they did Chandler Simpson for no reason when we were
all enjoying that speed. So my favorite hitter this week,

(22:25):
and I included a bonus in here, with the caveat
being if Jack Jack Caglione is available in your league,
pick him up first, like pause this episode, go pick
him up and then come back and we'll continue talking.
Because I do think depending on like how and when
waivers run in some leagues, he is still available in
some leagues, whether it's you know, not that deep of
a league, or just like when he came up, waivers

(22:47):
had not run yet. And so if you're in one
of those leagues, don't forget and make sure he's not
not rostered. And I will say I posted this on
the Fantasy Bros Baseball Twitter account the other day, but
one of the really useful features that Fantasy Pros is
if you sink all your teams to Fantasy Pros, you
can just go to Jack Kegger Leone's player page and

(23:08):
see where he is in all of your leagues in
one spot. It's one of my favorite features where I
don't have to open up fan tracks and open up
CBS and open up ESPN and mainly search for his
name on every league. I can just go to his
player page on Fantasy Pros and be like, okay, he's
available in these two leagues, let me go pick him
up there. And I can also see, okay, this manager
in my other league has him, let me start firing

(23:30):
off some trade offers. So just wanted to put that
out there as a company man. One of my favorite features.
So I recommend you sink your leagues. I find it
very useful. My favorite hitter is Ronnie Mauricio, power speed
prospect who is getting some run at third base for
the Mets right now. And I think he is kind

(23:50):
of player who is good enough who because Mark Vantez
is on the al with the hamstring injury's going to
be out for at least two weeks, Ronnie Mauricio is
called up and playing third base in his stead. So
logic would tell you Bandos is back, Mauricio is out.
I don't know that's necessarily going to be the case,
because Mauricio is good enough that like, like we talked

(24:11):
about before, a lot of these young hitters come up
and they struggle. If he's good enough right away or early,
you know, shows enough, he will either take that could
either take that third job, third base job, or earn
his way onto the field elsewhere. He's that good of
a prospect. And so he's the kind of player who
I just think you need to add and see what happens,
especially as we keep saying this week, he plays third base,

(24:35):
and he has a pulse at third base, and he
is twenty four years old. Dominican prospect and he's showed
a ton of power speed in the miners. So in
twenty twenty three in Triple A, one hundred and sixteen games,
twenty three home runs, twenty four stolen bases, twenty twenty
two double A similar story, twenty six um rounds, twenty

(24:55):
ston bases in twenty twenty three bad at two ninety two,
twenty twenty two bat at two fifty nine, and then
this year before getting called up, nineteen games, bat at
three twenty three with three home runs and six six
stolen bases across the miners, most of that in Triple A.
And I just think he's a really good prospect and

(25:17):
he could take that job, and if he does, you
might have double digit home runs and stolen bases waiting
for you for the rest of the season. You have
any thoughts on Ronnie Mauricio, I.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
Don't, but I looked him up when I saw you
put him in there, and I agree with pretty much
everything you said, So I would also be looking to
pick him up, I think, in any league, especially if
you need a third basement.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
So faux show, let's talk about your favorite picture.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
So my favorite picture is basically Yuri Perez. If he's
still out there. According to Fantasy Prosy's owned in like
forty percent of leagues somewhere in that. And I have
a really really deep analysis on this for everyone, I said,
this falls into the why not category because he's scheduled
to face Pittsburgh and Washington next week, So like I
would take a flyer. I think he's a good pitcher.

(26:07):
I think that I liked him before he went down.
It scares me a little to pick him up like
for that first like start, because sometimes it takes him
a minute to settle back in. But I guess I'd
rather be in on him for those two starts and
see where he lands than to not pick him up
at this point.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Yeah, I agree, he's really young. Obviously he's missed some time.
He's still only twenty two years old. I would have
guessed he's much older than that. But again, you know,
really good prospect, really good stuff, and he is the
kind of picture who can you know he can he
can come in and pitch to like a three or
sub three Arra or you know, give or take three

(26:47):
era with more than a strike up or inning, which
is really valuable. My one concern would be innings. How
many innings we're going to get out of him. But
we're already in June, so that's less of a concern.
Now then if we're talking April and like, what does
a full season look like like, he already has missed
two months, and you know they can probably stretch him
out for the rest of the season because you know,

(27:10):
he missed all of twenty twenty four, so he probably
has an innings cap on him, but you know, missing
the first two months is helpful there. So I agree
really like Eury Perez, and he probably is available in
a bunch of your leagues because he's still rehabbing and
he's not back yet, and so a lot of people
probably didn't draft him and stash him just because he

(27:31):
was going to be out for so long. But now
that he's coming back, you know, check see if he's available.
Maybe sink your teams to Fantasy Pros and check your
leagues there and see if he's available. My favorite pitcher
is Mick Abel, who has debuted already and has looked
pretty darn good, and the Philly has just said just

(27:52):
announced he's staying up. They also said recently that Andrew
Painter their top pitching prospect. It probably hasn't coming up
till after the All Star so that is a bummer,
but I'll deal with make Abel in the meantime. You know,
he's looked pretty good through two starts zero point seventy
nine ERA. Obviously he's expected numbers are a little bit
higher than that, but you know, when your ERA is

(28:15):
zero point seven nine, it's kind of hard for them
to not be higher than that. And eleven strikeouts and
eleven and third innings, no walks, zero walks, and two starts,
which is pretty good, want to know, on a good
Phillies team. And I just he just he pitched really
really well at Triple A. And when he kind of
came up and looked really good and went back down,
Everyone's like, what the heck? And then he came up

(28:36):
looked really good again. The Phillies were like, Okay, he's
gonna stick around now, no more of this Taiwan Walker nonsense.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
I just think he I think he's good and he's
young and exciting. I was actually talking to Worm about
him earlier in the week, and because he was deciding
on starting Mickabel or Kevin Gosman, and I think you
talked to him about it as well. I think we
gave him different answers. Yeah, I said, I was a
little bit nervous, like I like Able a lot, but

(29:05):
his matchup was against the Blue Jays, and I was like,
I don't really love that, you know, as a you know,
pretty young pitcher. So I think Gosman's the safer pick.
But he's did all right against the Blue Jays, so
hopefully I wasn't giving bad advice, So hopefully he didn't
follow my advice. Any thoughts, I mick Able, I think
I think you're a fan as well.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
I believe, yeah, I'm also a fan. I mean, I
don't like that he struck out nine in his first
his first and then he only struck out two in
the second. But I'm okay with it for all of
the reasons you just said. He's on a good team.
I love that he hasn't walked anyone whenever there's that
idea that he's and he's just not necessarily it's not
like he's pitching to contact. He's also given up eight hits,

(29:47):
so I'm I'm I like him. I like him probably
a little more than I actually like Uri, just in
terms of the situation because I mean, URI's still in Miami.
But yeah, no, he's one of my favorites too.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
That is a good point. That's a good context that
only two strikeouts in his last start after nine on
his first start, When you say eleven strikeouts eleven innings
and are like, all right, that's pretty good. When you
see the contact that it was only two in his
most recent that's a little bit different.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
But the Blue Jays don't strike out a ton, so
I'm not as worried about it.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Yeah, first start Pirates, second start Blue Jays. Blue Jays
offense has been really, really good, and that's why I
told Worm I would probably avoid them just because they
I forget what I looked at. I think it was
Welba over the last two weeks setting into this week,
and the Blue Jays were number two behind the Dodgers,
and I was like, I just don't want to mess
with that offense right now, so I would stay away. Okay,

(30:44):
some other deep league targets to close things out. One
I wanted to mention, and I don't know how soon
he's gonna come up. But there was a really interesting
report the other day about Kyle Teal. Kyle Teal is
a top prospect in baseball, a top catching prospect in
baseball who was part of the Guard trade. So there
was Teal was the headline. He was part of the
Red Sox Big four with Roman Anthony, Marcella Meyer, and

(31:07):
Christian Campbell. Now it's a big three, but Kyle Teal
was the four and that big four, and he was
the headline of the Guy Crouchet trade. Now he's in
the White Sox system. The White Sox stink, but they
also have a very good catching prospect kind of blocking Teal,
although I think Teal is better personally. He's doing really
well in TRIPA A and he recently started working out

(31:28):
at first base. And so if Kyle Teal comes up
and plays first base and has catcher eligibility, that could
be really valuable in fantasy, especially because he's the kind
of catcher who he's kind of like a I would
almost say, like a real Muto Like he comes up,
he's gonna like he's known for a good average, he's

(31:49):
gonna steal bases, and he's got a little bit of
power as well, so he could could he could put
up that kind of real Muto stat line early in
his career as long as he performs at the majors
the way he has in the minor, so I don't
think he's necessarily close to coming up, but the fact
that he's working out of first base was very interesting
to me. So if you're in a deep league where

(32:10):
you can kind of stash him, I would consider doing so.
Addison Barger someone we talked about earlier. Was it the
previous video we talked Yeah, in the first video of
the week, talked about Addison Barger. He's still widely available,
So if you need help there, he's someone who's swinging
a hot bat. Jose cabierro seven sole bases over the
last two weeks. If you need some steals, he's been
coming along. Mike Takman is making an appearance again. He's

(32:33):
been hitting well over the last couple of weeks. So
if you need outfield help in five outfields your league,
he's someone who's doing some things and as a pulse.
Lance mcullers we already talked about. He's pretty widely available still,
which I thought was surprising. I thought he would be
rostered in more leagues given his recent performance, but he's
still pretty available. Dustin May also still pretty available, So
if you need pitching, I am a big Dustin may fan.

(32:55):
I think a lot of people dropped him after some
like in consistent performances, but I think overall, well he's
very good. And then another picture who was probably dropped
because of poor early performance, but who has been pitching
very well lately, as Gavin Williams. So those are all
candidates in maybe not the deepest of leagues, but like
twelve team Rota or deeper, there's a good chance handful

(33:17):
of these players are available, and so take a look
at them if you need help. And that's all we
have for this second video. Make sure you check out
our first video, Rounding the Bases, where we talk a
all about news, notes and trending players. Obviously, in this
video we talk about trades and waivers, and our next
video we're going to talk pitching and two star pitchers
and pictures to stream for the upcoming week, and so

(33:39):
check that out next once you finished watching this one.
