This week on The Final Word, Frangela is breaking down the latest chapter in the Trumpian fever dream, and honey, it’s giving full dystopia with a side of delusion.
First up, the Texas House passed a redistricting bill so gerrymandered it might as well come with a MAGA loyalty oath. And just to make sure democracy stays gagged and bound, the House Speaker ordered 24-hour surveillance on Democrats courtesy of the Department of Public Safety. Because nothing says “freedom” like armed government babysitters.
Meanwhile, Trump has apparently decided he’s a war hero now—claiming he stopped six or seven wars, depending on which personality is talking that day. And if that wasn’t enough, he’s also floating the idea that he’s heaven-bound. We’re not theologians, but we’re pretty sure lying, cheating, and inciting insurrections don’t earn you a cloud and a harp.
Then there’s Trump’s latest attack on Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, a highly respected Black woman economist, demanding her resignation after his housing henchman Bill Pulte accused her of mortgage fraud. No evidence, just vibes and racism.
Let’s not forget that $355 million penalty Trump was ordered to pay for inflating property values like a busted balloon. But surprise—an Appeals Court voided it, because apparently penalties are for peasants, not self-declared kings.
And just when you thought the circus couldn’t get any wilder, National Guard troops from Republican-led states are rolling into D.C. to enforce Trump’s fantasy takeover. Democracy is looking real shaky, y’all.
Finally, Target’s CEO is stepping down, and we’ve got questions. Is it the backlash? The boycotts? Or just the realization that running a retail empire in racist clown world is exhausting?
Frangela’s got the information and laughs you need to survive this week’s chaos. Buckle up—it’s The Final Word, and we’re not holding back.
