Lieve Meersschaert veio da Bélgica para Portugal para se juntar à Cooperativa Operária do Serviço Doméstico em 1978. Participou em várias iniciativas do Sindicato do Serviço Doméstico reivindicando direitos laborais para uma classe desprotegida. Na década de 1980, Lieve Meersschaert recebeu uma bolsa para investigar o desenvolvimento psicossocial das empregadas domésticas. Gravou 25 entrevistas com empregadas domésticas. Neste episódio extra da série “Quase da Família”, Lieve fala-nos sobre como um grupo de empregadas domésticas construiu uma cooperativa do serviço doméstico e os desafios que enfrentaram.
