(00:10):
You are so bad. Get Jimmyout of here. Oh I don't want
to hurt your feelings. I justwant you to be sorry that you exist.
Hello and welcome to the gamer ladpodcast Post hiatus. I am your

(00:31):
host, Justine worship Witsby, asalways is the one, the only,
the d Kevin Miller dot com.Jump and press the circle button. Kevin,
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year,Happy New Year, Happy almost Martin
Luther King Day a most just aroundthe corner, guys, so many things,
so many things. Did you reallyenjoy that reading of my playing the

(00:56):
Santa highlight? The fact that wecan give that gift to the world ends.
So you're just a mere five hundreddollars a downloads? We just I
mean really, if we just getten people to download it, then yeah,
that'd be taken care of. Probablyretire and stop doing the show.
Five hundred dollars, Yeah, Idid a couple of zeros. I've ever
seen that much money in one place, but I think you bought your first

(01:22):
car for that amount of money.Did you have any exciting video game this
happens, Oh my gosh, somuch. Because we haven't recorded since just
after Thanksgiving. If I'm not mistaken. That sounds right. That chives with
my history. We couldn't couldn't makeit happen in the month of December was
the December to not remember. Sowe're on a new number now, aren't

(01:44):
we. It's a new season everything. It's like, don't let me forget
that season fourteen or something. Waythrough the month of January, here we
are. Do you think like whenif you're a hardcore fan of this show
and you see it miss a week, you're like, oh, it's okay.
Yeah, when it misses too through, like what's they're like, oh,
there it's gone again. It's dead. You have to wait another four
or five years and then it comesback. I'm curious about that because I'm

(02:07):
you you are more in the podcastculture than I am. Yeah. Um,
I don't subscribe to any podcasts.I don't listen to any podcasts except
for this one when we're doing itright now. Um, So if that
happened one podcast, So if thathappened to you, would you assume you're

(02:30):
like, oh, there's no newepisode again. Oh, there's no new
episode again. Would you be like, oh, they do it when they
can. Would you be like,oh, it's over. I feel bad
saying this out loud, but I'venever had that happen. But my assumption
would be because no podcast you listento doesn't make their their dead. I
mean, or if they are that, like they put out a brief announcement
saying, hey, we we wedidn't do it. So there's this,

(02:52):
that or the other. Reason.Um, should we be more communicative?
Sure to the world. That's alet's record a bunch of things right now
and then you can put them outif we can't make it. So,
hey, thanks for listening. Noepisodes this week, but here's justin telling
you a dirty joke. This isjustin telling you a dirty joke. Checks

(03:15):
next week and the new content willbe the dirty joke I dropped me.
So I don't have to say itin front of you because I'll be embarrassed.
I can see your wheels churning, like how dirty can I make those?
Did you really? Oh? Iwas like, no, I don't
got him. No, not adirty joke, guy, I just thought
of one. There's only one streetjoke, dirty joke that I like.

(03:37):
I thought you's are gonna make itup. No, I don't. I'm
not that good. You're pretty good. No, not to make it up
joke. If I said do itin a character, though, you'd be
probably. Here's Justin now doing Nataliewith tongue cut out. You remember that
character. Yeah, that's a goodAnd he's on the street the cabinets with

(04:01):
kruff, with McGruff the crime dog. She's on the street, yeah,
with McGruff the crime dog. Heever closes the cabinets whatever he puts.
The way to dishes. Oh youknow, Natalie, it's beautiful. The
best way to a man's heart isthrough his coboards. They all see.

(04:27):
These are great. This is materialBYARN a month and a half for this
kind of stuff. So I hadso many plans for tonight. We have
to check in on what we're playing. Yeah, what you got for Christmas?
To play? What you've beaten inthat amount of time, Mounds of
things to discuss. We should talkless about me. No, the first

(04:48):
twenty minutes of the show is whatyou're selling and how much is going for?
Really? I'm sorry? What whatare your children doing? I apologize?
How many games are they beating youat? I apologie? What's your
favorite nerd thing? I will?I will Man's I will Man's the ones
in the twos. Hence with wealso have a new we have a new
campaign that we have to launch campaignmode, and I also have a game

(05:13):
that I want to play, acall in show game. So if you
are in the discord, am beprepared? Not now, second segment we're
going to We're gonna workshop something withthe with the gamer land community tonight because
it is award season. Oh that'sright, it's a reward season. Reward
season, so we need the helpof our fans. So, um,

(05:34):
real quick, I beat fallen Order. This is a four hour show.
That's they don't have to go along, You don't have to take it shortness.
Yeah, but then I have toedit it down to two hours and
forty five minutes. In the twentytwo years we've been doing the show,
fifteen minutes of uh, how manytimes have you edited anything? I don't
think. I think maybe once.If that, Yeah, exactly why did

(05:59):
we end? I don't remember.I remember. There's a long time.
We've been doing this for a while. Yeah, I just want to sit
and feel like we took something outbecause of an NBA at one point,
not maybe not even somebody else saidI think so guess that's all. Yeah,
because when we had comics on therewere some of them were like,
you need to take that out. There's definitely one guy that had us take
up that. Let's begin at theend of Thanksgiving. Okay, what did

(06:26):
you start playing immediately? I hadjob. I talked about it before we
left. I was playing Jedi FallenOrder pretty exclusively. Yeah, and then
I finished it. When you sayfinish it, you mean double Platinum did
or like like old Man finished it? Like their stories over why they keep

(06:46):
playing people's names, I don't understand. So that's a lot of Wise,
there's a lot of fun on theother end of the pool. As an
early adopter, I can tell youI'm discovering the joy of hanging out in
the laggered deep end the pool war. More people hang out because more people
have finished it. First of all, you beat it and then give me
a copy, so straight out, that's awesome. But ben then more people

(07:09):
know stuff, so people are ableto give me tips like how to get
the dual lightsaber on the on thefirst World, Like you can get it
straight out? Yeah? Yeah, your eyes couldn't get wider right now?
Oh my gosh, not cool. You didn't know. How long did it
take you to get the dune?Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
it was on kash like the thirdtime. It's actually once they pointed out
I would I might have discovered thaton my own without somebody hinting it.

(07:33):
You have to go back to thefirst world as your third world choice.
Does that make sense? Yes?And because they say something like, hey,
there are a lot of secrets backon that other planet might be worth
the second look, want to goback to that Baccano place. That's what
she says. And so you goback there, you use and if you
remember it, you're like, oh, I don't have a force pushability right
now? You push this bridge down, walk into a room, do do

(07:55):
it. Hey, I'm gonna dosomething special right now to remember the man
that used to be here. Alightsaber boom right off the bat. What
happens in the story part where youget the dual lightsaber? You just get
it again. I don't know.I'm not that far down the game.
I mean spoilers assumed there. Oh, cut it out, it'll be worth
it that. I've also been toldthat there is a place on Kashik where

(08:16):
you can do a little grinding andmax out your abilities, like because you
know, if you hit the meditationpoints, it responds. There's some there's
like five or six guys right bya respond place, really easy to come
in, knock them out, runback, hit it, come back,
and just if you do that fora little while, watch a little TV
while you do it, don't makethe rest of the games like butter on

(08:39):
Butter, I'm gonna butter my butter. I didn't, I didn't. How
do you like that game so far? I'm enjoying it. I think it's
fun to be in the Star Warsuniverse. I find the the games are
a lot like Mandalorian and Rogue Onein that they're kind of like take the
Star Wars universe from another cross section. They're like, oh, what else
is in here? And then sliceand then you get to see something else.

(09:01):
Kind of similar characters, new dispositions, new relationships with each other.
I did it. I think. Are you annoyed by the lightsaber combat at
all? Yes? Yeah, it'svery challenging. Okay, thank you.
I I just assumed I'm bad becauseI'm not read. I'm also bad,
but I we all know him.Great, you're great, You're great at
at Arkham right, like you canread the slices and read that two full.

(09:24):
Two things. Number one is thatwhen you attack, like most of
the attacks are based on Perry's likeso, and each um creature thing or
whatever has a different like attack method. Yeah, but until you best it
and then the little robot scans it, you don't know anything about it.
So that they came up with thisBS like meditation save point crap. Yeah,

(09:50):
old school. If you if youfight this thing that this big beast
and then it whoops up on youbecause you're like, you know what,
I want to try this at Jedinight instead of just being regular Jedi whenever
it is. Yeah, So Itried it. I think it's slightly hard
and it was impossible really, andI quickly had to go down to normal.
Or here's the thing I should say. It was impossible to have fun

(10:11):
became like a job. And thenmy kids they played I think Jack had
played on easy he's eight, buthe because he and he didn't finish it.
He was like, screw this really, yeah, it gets done.
He just gave it back. Imean, the variations on interactions are fun,
like you know the Puzzlely platform orpart of it runs, swing on
the thing, hit the wall, climb, run the thing. That's all

(10:31):
fun. I wish the combat wasa little more engaging, and there are
moments where I really feel like, hey, thanks for the cheers. I
really feel like I'm playing uncharted, like there's just rant for no reason at
all. In random sections, thereis a storm chripper that I have to
beat up around the corner, asopposed to in the Star Wars world.
To know, some places are desolate, other places are densely populated, and

(10:54):
I don't get the impression that I'mgoing to walk into a densely populated area.
I didn't think it's all desolate,and that was my That's kind of
how they keep it e for everyone. You think. I think it's just
yeah, I think it's a programmingchoice, and it's a platform or game
like You're gonna walk into Corressant orwhatever the equivalent to be and running scale
along the sides of those buildings. And this isn't infamous people, But there's

(11:18):
the same problem I had with NoMan Sky. You know, about three
hours into the game, I go, every one of these planets is completely
empty. Now I'm unto you, there are no live planets here. There
are no civilizations, there's nothing onhere. It's just vast variations of endless
nothing. So after I did theJedi Fallen Order, I played Madden,

(11:41):
which is very boring, is itwhat? And I'm I'm waiting to have
some more free time and I'm gonnaget the God of War, the New
kind of War. Oh, it'sgreat that I'm borrowing from a friend.
That's all I have see now that, in contrast to Jedi is like it's
like a straight line platformer. Idon't explain, like there's a lot of
like John running finding positive the thingsand stuff there. Uh, this is

(12:03):
more, especially in the beginning ofGod of War, it's like almost like
watching a storyboard, like do thisthing, than do this thing, then
do this thing. But eventually itkind of opens up and then you get
to make choices and go around. And I felt like the way that game
plays in the visuals of it,what what level of difficulty do you have
to put that game on? Iusually go normal, but this time around,
I might start off. I don'tknow why, but I've decided I

(12:24):
want to play things a little harderfor real. I don't know why.
I've been doing it. I've beensetting it to nerve level beyond nerve,
like Toddler, like picture Book.I actually don't play it. I just
I just watch it. Yeah, and and and then I just press X
to keep playing the videos of otherpeople playing, and sometimes I even fail

(12:45):
at that. Would it be greatif, if harder, to play as
the kid the entire game? ButTodd was you played as him? If
you played, that would be cool. Chronos Chronometer, Um, that'd be
cool to play as the kid.I think I'd be better. That's the
funny. They have you played anyof the game at all, So it's
it is a beautiful relationship, andthey do a really good job of kind
of stalling that relationship out and gettingmilking it for the tension that's through it.

(13:09):
But I keep relating to the kidlike the dad. You know,
he's supposed he's the god of war, and he's like this battle hardened and
he's emotionally distant and he doesn't knowhow and the kid is wrestling with like
loving his father but trying to pleasehim and don't know how to do that.
I'm like, and the dad wouldgive orders and do this and do
that, and I'm like I kindof I feel like the kid, like

(13:31):
can I should be the child? My older son is away at science camp
like type for a week, Andit would be so funny if I would
have stumbled upon playing that game thisweek, because I would have cried.
I guarantee you, Oh yeah,I would have cried hard. You wouldn't
melt in the first five minutes ofthe game. You wouldn't be able to
make it. Yeah. It definitelylike hooks you in very fast. I'll
bring it over. Let's do itright now. This has been the game

(13:52):
relaying podcast. Man, everybody,I could tell you that when I play
that game, I will come onthe show and tell you if it makes
me cry. Oh, I'm tellingyou now, you will no matter what.
Yeah, how we should do likean over under of how many minutes
in? Hmm? Interesting? Whatwould you say? Like, Well,
here's the thing. If Jacob's notaround, you might not cry, okay,

(14:15):
but you you still might. It'spretty powerful, especially you you get
really invested in things. I'm gonnasay five minutes in. Okay, how
about you? What was your somany games? So what did you get
anything for Christmas? I'm drawing ablank. That's our time. I think

(14:37):
I got a game for Christmas?Really does your family hate you? So
I have I get two Christmases.We don't do gifts. That's true,
that's true. Um we get um, I get some cash for some from
some family members because we're grown ups. And then I convert that into video
games and also app controlled led lightbulbs that I can change the color on.

(15:00):
Pretty cool to mess with our kids. So as a quick side story,
I set it up in our bedroomand I told my son, hey,
go put this on my bed,and he goes in there and while
he's in there, I get onthe app and I change the color of
the light real quick. He's like, what what is that? He comes
out he changed. I'm like, but he didn't change. He's like no,
it changed color, Like no,it doesn't do He's like, no,

(15:22):
no, someone hacked it. Itwas like, no one can hack
a light bulb. It's a lightbulb. He's like, go look.
His sister's like I want to gosee. So they both go in there.
I change again. It's doing itfor down the hallway. It's doing
it. They come out like youhave to see it, like okay,
sure, and I leave it doingit as they come out smiling. Oh
she's she's aware of the whole time. I know, But is she like

(15:43):
you know what I mean? Ohyeah, you guys are playing a deadpan
or oh yeah. We're both likewhat is that? What's wrong with you?
Yeah? So I turned it backto normal. I'm like, okay,
buddy, is just a light. It is just fine, like okay,
see, and then and then theystart to get frustrated, like hey,
wait a minute, no, I'mtelling you would change like okay,
we're gonna go and sit down now, it's dinner time. And go back
them every kid in every movie everand exactly. And so there's this great

(16:07):
video of her filming me as wewalked down the hallway. As we turn
away, I turn it back on. But it's doing it. Come back,
come back, it's doing it.It's in my room. So so
fine, you know, we probablygo through several rounds of this. I
go into the bathroom and I controlit from there, and there's shelty it's
boo, it's great. It's purple. It's great, it's purple. Uh

(16:30):
So then I finally come in.I'm like, look, it's it's fine.
It's just a light. Bulb andhe's starting to really get in.
No, I'm it's changing, it'schanging, tears in the corner of his
eyes. So that's when I breakand I hit it as this feature where
you it'll change based on noise, and so I turned it on and I
go no, no, no,no, no, no no, and
the whole thing starts to sparkle likea disco bamb no like, yeah,

(16:53):
see, we told you, youtold you it was changing. No no,
frustration that they now now I thinkhe's old enough because he's seven,
that he's like, this is fun, this is fun. I get you
got me, you got in themoment, though, he was not okay
with it, because you, youand I are old enough to remember that
Sesame Street the original snuff Elophagus.Only big Bird could see him because every

(17:18):
time adults would come around, hewould find a reason to go away,
and so the stick was for thelongest time that grown ups they thought he
was making it up, and BigBird was like, it's real. I
swear to you, it's real. And they're like, okay, big Bird,
and they realized that that was traumaticfor children to be like, no,
why won't the grown ups trust BigBird? That he's telling the truth,

(17:42):
like you're you're setting it up tolike create dissension and that kids are
lying and that was supposed to befun, and they realized for an educational
show, this is not the messageyou want to see. So it was
a whole thing of like Big Birdhoiled on to snuff leophagus, Trunk kept
him in play, and the grownups finally came around the corner and were

(18:02):
like blown away. Oh my gosh, you've been telling the truth. We're
so sorry, big Bird. Wedidn't know that you were. We thought
you were being silly. You weretelling the truth. If I was EP
of that show during that time, they like do the whole thing? They
go, oh, I guess yes, real, let's let's finish dinner,

(18:25):
like standing with the Blake, likestuck there like vindication, Annie, who
this is now what we're talking about? Um, so I the I picked
up three games. I got Borderlandthree h for the birthday, and I
got Outlanders. Are you familiar withthis? It's the game that Fallout was

(18:45):
supposed to be. Oh that's whatthey say heavy RPG. Um it's got
U Nathan Phillion in it, andum yeah it's in this like dystopian alternate
future reality. You'd love it.Um And then so I am draft ammunition.
Though now I've decided the only thingwe're napping or not as bad as

(19:07):
napping is crafting. You do haveto buy ammunition. I'll collect ammunition.
I just don't have to make it. You have to buy it from a
kiosk, like you have to goto things. There were lots of kiosk
like Starbucks. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're they're here and there.
Yeah. The thing that's interesting aboutan Outlanders, so it's a great mechanic
when you first show up. Alsoa show on HBO Outlander. I'm pretty
sure it's Outlander. I'm not outerWorld sorry outer worlds um uh. So

(19:33):
it's a great mechanic when you firstcome on, they give you a little
backstory that this U dystopian future megalomatedcomputer company they've got, you know,
they've got a bunch of people frozenin tubes. The ship on its way
to the colony got derailed, andthis one scientist is like, I'm going
to pull one of these out.So then as you adjust, you you're
given like these eight attributes saying youcan move the sliders around you get points

(19:57):
to put on them, and asyou do it, the little you're looking
down the hallway of this vast spaceshipof all the frozen cryot people, and
as you adjust the things, theclaw to pull one out moves around like
a jukebox to grab the person essentiallythat you are making. You're making,

(20:17):
and as you do it, thescientist has little things to say like,
oh, you're not the smartest brickon the show, or oh you are
what they call cool stuff like that. And so I put all of my
money into leadership capabilities. So Icannot shoot worth a damn, which is
great because Kevin cannot shoot worth thedamn. So literally all of my abilities

(20:40):
are based on me being able torecruit and keep the NPC allies that you
have that you gain it the game, and you don't have to have them.
You can as you do the gamebe like no, you're dismissed.
It's very open RPG world, likevery loose based, and I can see
like, oh, I can makea mistake and like lose this character,
and then I'm going to be hosedbecause I can't shoot, I can't do

(21:03):
anything, but I put all exactly, but I put all my points in
leveling them up very early so they'reable to do all these great abilities,
and I kind of hanging them backand then give them directions like go here,
shoot this, do this thing, and I'll be back here into a
pyramid scheme pretty much, and it'sworking for me. It's been pretty great,
deep game, heavy moral decisions, and they do a good job of

(21:26):
like teasing out the world, andas you go to different people and learn
more about the decisions, you're presentedwith more and more moral decisions, even
to the point where I was actuallylike, I don't know if I want
to make this choice tonight, Likethink as I sat down, I'm like,
I don't know if I'm in thespace right now to decide which who's
gonna live and who's gonna die.Say this is your favorite game you're playing

(21:47):
now? No? No, notat all. No, But it is
a wonderful game. It's very richin world, but it's like a job.
It's like it's like reading a bookthat I'm interacting with long dialogue.
It's a gorgeous game. I think. I think if this is what uh
Fallout was supposed to be, it'sprettier than Fallout in my opinion, I

(22:07):
never played anything Fallouts. It's alot more imaginative. I'd say Fallout Worlds
are really cool. But there's likeI always felt And maybe it's because I'm
I'm always feel like I'm being unfairwhenever I get anything that's close to critical.
But I in my thought it's upset. There is this Fallout boy is
upset for uh in a screenshot ofOuter Worlds. But anyway, I wish

(22:32):
I was Outer world It's that thelook of it seemed it was a little
grainy, like it was, youknow, Fallout. Yeah, yeah,
like but and then and then likejust the I don't know, the world
just ever grabbed me. Yeah.I like the idea of it and everything,
and I play it, and thenI'd always lose interest. I think,
I'm I'm getting to have such ashort attention span. It's age,
it's kicking in and now the newsthat's gonna it's gonna end me. So

(22:57):
I also picked up Incredible, theIncredible's lego which has both legos one and
two and are Incredible as one andtwo, and I played that with the
kids, and then I got theGhostbusters Remastered for the PS four. Same
game I've played it through twice, looks better better a gamer interface, and
the story, of course is justso funny. So it's like we're I

(23:18):
haven't poured a lot of time intothat because I have a ton of other
games played and I've played that onetwice, but I'm very glad to have
it on the shelf. And theprevious version I had was on the Xbox,
and I never planned to use anXbox again. In fact, this
Christmas, I packed my Xbox,I packed your Xbox up and put away
to make room for the Nintendo SwitchSwitch Switch, which we were gifted as

(23:42):
a family and Nintendo Switch, andI picked up Super Mario Odyssey, and
that is just a delightful game filledwith surprise for gamers and family members alike,
Like as a gamer, I mean, because we you know, Mario
games are great. They're always wellpolished, well thought out, but there

(24:03):
are a ton of surprises. It'san older game, so most most of
our listeners will be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know,
but I'll tell you you'll dig itbecause you go around with that stupid hat
and you get to collect people totake over. So you meet a dinosaur,
you throw your hat on it,you are now the dinosaur. You
meet a bullet bill as it shootsthat you, you don't hop on it.

(24:23):
You throw a hat at it andtake over bullet Bill, and now
you are bullet Bill until you don'twant to be bullet Bill. Gumbas frogs.
Now, if I if I'm Marioand then I'm bullet Bill and I
want to go back to being Mario. Do I have to find a Mario
to throw a hat at. No, you just hit a button and you
your spirit goes out of him andyou come back to Mario. He goes

(24:44):
Oh, he's still there for afew beats and then eventually dies. But
you know, can I jump backto being bullet Bill or if you do
it quick enough, you can beforehe dies? Yeah, before he goes
away. You got maybe three secondsor so for it's not like he's in
my arsenal of No, No,it's def That's how all the boss battles
are. You fight the using yourhat u he's could I become the boss
to just run my head some No, in some instances you use the boss

(25:10):
against themselves. If that makes sense, sure, yeah, then this is
but this is the best part, and that's not hyperbole. I'm surprised because
this game has been out for whatthree years now, and no one's ever
told me. This my absolute favoritepart of Mariodyssey. And there's a lot
of great things you get to wherecostumes. You get to collect costumes,
so Mario can be in a sombreroor wedding garb u. But he h,

(25:33):
you'll come upon it because it's ina three D world. You'll come
upon these walls with a old fashionedMario green pipe in it. You go
into it, and then you goonto the wall like a cave drawing of
the original Super Mario's pixelated, andas you move, the object that you're
on is in in three dimensions,so like there's one where it's on a
giant pillar or wrap around. Soyou're playing a level of original Super Mario

(25:56):
Brothers on a curved surface where thepart of the obstacles are actual three dimensional
things and part of them are drawingson the curve surface. It's incredible,
and I love that no one spoiledthat for me. It's been such a
discard. It's not like a onetime gimmick for everybody. Then you're welcome.
It's it's not like a one timegimmick. It's in almost every world.

(26:17):
Every world that I've experienced so farhas multiples of these. Play some
kind of a throwback quick little minigame. To progress through it, you
have to play the original Super MarioBrothers briefly. Um, it's a great
game. Worth the switch. Ihope your son gets it. I don't
my son. Uh we had Ihad a client that gave my kids each
five hundred dollars and Jack wants touse it to buy a switch. Nice

(26:41):
and I said, no, Igo the best thing to do because there's
a lot of money just to givea kid. Why did he do this?
He was trying to It's a longersort of but the point is is
that I tried to help a buysell his house after somebody else failed,
and then that person who failed cameback because they had a buyer. So
basically they get to sell the houseand I'm out of the deal. But

(27:02):
he preferred me, and so Ithink it was a nice way of He
knew that if he gave me themoney, I'd be like no, no,
no, got it. But asa gift to your children, what
are you gonna say, jerky? If he gave him cards at everything and
came by and he bought a nicebottle scotch and we had some scotch and
hung out for an afternoon at thehouse and watch football. But anyway,
he so I said, I've decidedthat it's what this guy would have wanted.
He and I were very simpatico andour ideals, and so I told

(27:23):
them. I told Jack tonight.Actually, when we were hanging out for
dinner, he wanted to have apow wow about getting using the money to
get a switch, and I said, yeah, I said, I think,
because that's money from him like afriend, I think you could use
that money to try to turn itinto enough money to buy yourself. Oh
okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, so if you can, because they've
already got a business going with alemonade where they make good money. And

(27:47):
so I'm trying to push him downthat idea of using your money to make
more money right, rather than spendit right and just just blow because they
were like, oh, well,if I saved two hundred and spend three
hundred on the switch, it's good. I'm like, no, yes,
but yeah, said not for thisthis because I think Louie would really get
a kick off. Sorry, youget a real big kick out of it.
If he knew that they got doyou have? You have to edit
it. I'm so excited. He'sgonna care. He will never find this.

(28:12):
If it did, it doesn't matter. I don't know his last name.
You do, yes, I do? Black, Louis Black. It's
Louis Black. Now now I haveto add there. What I'll do is
I'll edit it and you'll say blackinstead of his name. Oh, the

(28:33):
Susic people trying to bite aline,so we have to come to JJ bad.
They get no point. A birdcan't get no place. So sick
heard that's a good song. It'sso bad you're laughing at that's so bad.

(28:57):
You need to listen to it allthe way through. Look, the
people in Twitch would have pump itup this way that Jimmy driving back from
Tennessee. It turns finally, Iknow you will fresh in you don't.

(29:38):
That was in the song. Thatwas really part of it. That was
another It's finally my turns to rockthe mic. Yeah, it's good.
That's good stuff, Honey. Youneed to annunciate it otherwise we're not gonna
know what you're saying. This spaceis purely engineered to rattle cars. You're

(29:59):
right, it's her in my ears, Like there was a time where it
was cool that if your car likehad like a like a loose cart that
battled, because it would have beenshaking. Yeah, in the windows you
could see him moving. The subsub woffers were invented in the late eighties,
I Field, I think that's accurate. The aras are wraps. That

(30:21):
was when rap was fun, rememberwhen it was. It was fun then,
and they got really angry like allmusic did in the early nineties.
All music grunge was the worst. There was no fun in the early nineties.
There was nothing cool old on holdon the Spin Doctors. That wasn't
fun in the nineties, compared toKurt Cobain, Like really, yeah,

(30:44):
but well you always is your pointthat everything else was so drabbed that when
I listened to the Spin Doctor, you were on the fringe over there.
That's not early nineties, is surepositive, That's when that's when music took
a nose dive trying to correct itselffrom the Kurt Cobain stuff. The early
nineties. They're like, how aboutuh Britney Spears Bop calendar greetings to tunes

(31:06):
and ashmouth and all that. Yeah, all that, like, uh,
listen, we need we need musicagain. I don't know, man,
it's when they dropped bubble Gum ingrunge exactly. Yeah. What was the
other one that they did? UmBob Britney Spears. There was pop Britney
Spears. There was another tune aroundthat area, like m Bob Bob oh
the the Australian. He takes avodka drink, he takes what am I

(31:30):
listening to? What's wrong? Thisamazings? I get knocked down? Yeah,
I get up? What was anotherone? Terrible? It's like thunder
and the lightning recent that's called fundsare recent. It's also bad and in
the morning, I'll take it.He calls it the fun Dip song.
There was lightning and then the funFun Dip, Happy twenty twenty, Happy

(31:52):
twenty twenty, Kevin. It isawards season. It is award season.
There have been many awards in thegaming industry. Many. Uh, that's
one gaming award givers. Gamer Landalso has gamer Awards to hand out.
We just need to decide what thecategories are, okay, and for that
we're going to need to turn tothe discord. Okay, so any you

(32:15):
can pull anybody in. Okay, you can do that now, so I
don't have to repeat the instructions morethan once because me name be Tera,
Me name Terra. Are you partof f fat jab? What was the
name of that band? Honestly Idon't know, so the answers yes,

(32:35):
j JJ fat Supersonic. Hey hey, all right, so we are giving
out gamer Land awards. You arethe first to be able to choose a
category. You may even list somenominations you'd like. Um, you know,
obviously things like Game of the Yearis good, but we're looking for
more um off the Beaten Path award, like the award that the average game

(33:00):
Award Recognition outfit doesn't give out. Those are the sort of things that the
second Funniest gamer Land podcast is lookingto give. So, um name inter
here? Was it? Uh?Category? Inter now? Okay, inter
category? Please me name betera?Oh, me name Betera. That's what

(33:20):
it was? Okay? Uh?Mystery mystery, so like best Mystery Game,
Best Mystery of twenty nineteen. Arewe just gathering categories and then these
will be given in a later episode? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
we'll do some people can vote.Uh, do you have any nominations
for this best Mystery Game? That'sa great category. Well done, you're

(33:44):
starting to us off real strong,Mebtera. I don't really know if it's
like a game from specifically this year, but a game that I've always been
interested in and like the suspense slashmystery is definitely Little Nightmares? Was that
released in twenty nineteen? I thinkit's like twenty eight Has it been awarded

(34:05):
in twenty nineteen? Interesting? Idon't think so. Well, we'll find
some other then we'll also we'll allowsnubs because if Little Nightmares has been snubbed,
then we want to be right. We wanted to be recognized in this
podcast Best snubs of twenty eighteen.Yeah, that's just a category for twenty
nineteen. Yes, all right, justin. I like that. I like
the cut of your jip. Thankyou meb Tara, No problem? Oh

(34:27):
gaybye, next, get someone elsein here? All right? Oh,
they don't have a microphone. Theydon't have a microphone. Why do people
have up? They do have microphones. They're hearing me? All right,
doodle noodle, doodle noodle left,But she doesn't want to be here.
I would say, how many timesthat drag her before she's here? Now?
Hey, doodle doodle, Oh arewe having a conversation with our self?

(34:51):
Rightness? I can't do it justto say, hey, what we're
talking? So I got it?The Endless Cycle? Who does it?
Like? Rated our movies? Allright? Give us a category for the
twenty nineteen gamer Land Awards Best RPG? Do you have any suggestion nominations for

(35:16):
Best RPG? Am I allowed tonominate? Well? Yeah, you can
nominate. I think you have toput it based on your description alone.
You have to put in their outerworld. Ye, you also have to
put in their Borderlands three? IsBorderlands three technically a RPG. It's more
of a loot gunner a game,but I'll take it. Didn't know they

(35:37):
categorize in that way. I mean, what would you say? Do you
think Borderlands? Hey, Kevin, you're really cool. You're really cool?
Are you still getting the feedback? No, it's fine, it's fine.
We're only gonna be with you forfifteen more seconds fourteen thirteen? Wow?

(35:58):
Am I better? I don't knowyou can nominate again? Shit? Okay,
hey Liz, you don't know nineWait, Liz, that's my sister
over there. Okay, we'll allout, all right, you go think
we might bring you back in later. Thank you, goodbye? All right,

(36:20):
we have Best Mystery Best Snubs oftwenty eight. Cody, give us
another maybe not another genre, butlike a good a good nominate, a
good category for us to give outawards too. I haven't gotten to play
it myself. I really want to. But one game that I've heard people
talk like NonStop about is uh discolas him Oh, jimm Hi Jimmy.

(36:42):
I was gonna say, why can'tI hear him? What did he just
join you in here? Did Idrag both of you? You dragged both
of us Jimmy out of here?I did? I did? He's all
right? Uh so that's that's agood game. What what what category would
you put that? Like? Whatwould be a category that I don't know?
It was Jimmy eats world. Ididn't catch it. That's a reference.

(37:08):
Is called disco Elysium, funky name, I know, but it is
kind of what Taras said, It'skind of a mystery. It's a very
dialogue heavy. You're going to doa lot of reading, but it is
a choice driven isometric. Uh.I guess technically an RPG. All right,
it can be nominated in two categories. Yeah, yeah, but it's

(37:30):
it's it's pretty fun. Like thechoices you actually make will affect the writing
later. And there's like a well, not a sanity system, but there's
stuff like that. It's it's reallycool. It's really in depth. I
really can't wait. I can't affectthe writing so much as the performance of
the ride. I just want tobe clear. The game is not writing
anything, right, No, no, no, no, it's it's not
like not like that, not procedurallygenerated. But the choices you make will

(37:52):
branch off in different paths from thebeaten course, a procedurally generated written game,
I said, I said, it'snot that I know, but I
find that more interesting. That isometric. Raise your hand if you know what
isometric means? Uh? I amall right. That's a great. Uh.
Nomination for Best Mystery and Best RPG. Do you have a an award

(38:14):
we should give out? Uh?When did Red Dead two come out?
Was that twenty nineteen? Sure? No, say I think that just give
red Just give Red Dead redemption toa lot of waste of time. How
about best Oh? How dare you? How about best remastered game. It's
good and then twenty and then RedDead would qualify for that is the only

(38:36):
thing. Oh it is. Yeah, they remastered it for the PC in
twenty nineteen for PC. Yeah, well, I guess they just incorded it.
I don't know how what's that?Did they include the napping or did
they fix that? That's the game. The game is originally in Japanese and
it's translated to nap on ground alot. I don't know why you hate
Red Dead. That's what it literallymeans in the Japanese. You know why.

(39:00):
It takes a big man to admitwhen he's wrong, and I'm a
big man. I feel like Ilose either way. Uh Red Dead and
uh then' uh no? It wastoe Jam and Earl a remaster or a
totally new game in the same Ihonestly have no idea. I was trying

(39:20):
to think of a name that hadthe word Jim in it, and the
first thing came to mind was toeJam and Earl, which was the old
Sienito. So that wasn't a remasterrequest. Okay, great, thank you
you said that. I honestly, when you said that, I honestly thought
that they had come out with anew game, and I just didn't hear
about it. So it's just likeI don't I don't know they did something
right. Didn't they know I couldbe wrong? Did they know they did
remaster it for the for the Switch? I saw it in the store?

(39:43):
Oh oh right, right right,I can put them about that. I
remember that being pretty funny. ToeJam and Earl, all right, it's
in okay, Jimmy in here,Bye guy to Jimmy. Welcome. You
can nominate uh some games for thesecategories and slash or give us a new

(40:05):
category. We have Best Mystery,Best Snubs of twenty eighteen, Best RPG,
and Best Remastered Title. These arethese are the awards that we will
be giving out this year. BestSnubs of twenty eighteen. That's a good
category. Yeah, that was Justin'sgem. I think it's pretty good.
Good at this Yeah, Um,it's a it's a way of making good
on things that didn't get with this. It's like Adam Sandler would get this

(40:28):
next year, right, are mybad? My bad? My bad award?
H gosh, I'm on my twentyeighteen titles. I really want to
I really want to nominate one forthat. Um, we could do an
online Yeah, yeah, we will. This is just a brainstorming session.

(40:51):
You said, I can I cannominate another category is yeah, you can
also generate a new category for us. Uh best ongoing mmo oh good,
all right, yeah, I likeit? See on going. Yeah.
Obviously nobody else can win. Sothe real joke is everybody else who gets

(41:15):
nominated that's still going to lose.I assume you want to nominate Guild Wars
and Warcraft. Is there another one? I also wanted to dominate Star Wars
the Old Republic. Probably I knewit. Yeah, well done. It's
a good time. Recently, sameI always played on my birthday. I
have a character named Deck two one, which is December twenty one, and

(41:36):
I play him for five minutes onmy birthday. And that game looks older
every time I play. By theway, that cartoon that you made on
your Instagram is very funny, likethe Little RPG guy. Yeah, that's
thank you. Check it out onUnlockable. Man, it's really good.
I've done. I've done two issuesso far of Little RPG. I saw
that one about the RPG where youchoosing a name. Oh god, that's

(41:57):
the second issue. Maybe the firstsomeone's first comment when they read that was
that guy's me, and I waslike, fascinating, this is a good
workshop in Uh then in the oneyou saw, in the one you read,
he thought he was rude. Ilike all of Vince's nominations in the
chat. Oh, just Vince. Is Vince in the chat room? Let's
get him in here, thanks JNS. Vince has had a number of suggestions

(42:22):
that are pretty gold. Is hea voice chat or the general chat?
Twitch chat? Twitch chat? Okay, let's see what what do you see
there? You can report for Vince? Yeah, because he doesn't happen.
He would like to nominate Thieves inTime for the twenty nineteen Best Game Released
in twenty thirteen award. You'd liketo nominate Twisted Metal Black for the two

(42:45):
thousand nineteen Most Explicitly Violent Game oftwo thousand and one Award, and Smash
Brothers Ultimate for Best Game to missthe twenty the Well Window of twenty nineteen
award. Uh, Smash Bros.Yeah, Smash Brothers was twenty eighteen,
right, No, yeah, thenewest. It definitely got snubbed. Yeah,

(43:08):
that would that would be for thethank you, Thank you I'm sna
say. Yeah, now the zombiecomes up. Yes, that's a follow
a following zombie. That's a that'sthat's a sub yeah. Hey or was
it a zombie? Oh? Thatwas a sub zombie. Thanks sub zombie.
Thank you. That's awesome. Um, those are good categories to see.

(43:29):
How anything not rhet Connie he hasI would like to nominate myself for
the Best Use of Quotation Marks Award. You see that? Yeah, I
feel like we're degenerating already. Ohdear, oh, I I was gonna
not. I was gonna suggest acategory of best spiky hair of twenty nineteen.
Do you think that would do youthink we can do it? That's

(43:50):
synonymous with JRPG? Yes? Yeah? Best licensed game? Oh that's good.
Would you have a you have atitle for that? Uh, like
like a movie property or something?Yeah, just you say, another license
of some kind, so like JediFallen Order? Yeah. I feel like
a Lego one has to be inthere. How was that incredible? So

(44:13):
you not played it? It's good? We can nominate that. Yeah,
I played it. It's really good. Yeah. Um, best uh vacuumus
pit for my kids money? Mostexpensive title? Is that good? Yeah?
Yea, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, most likely to take
your wallet. Yeah, so likeFortnite, Yeah yeah, Skylanders would have

(44:37):
been that in the past. Wehad to pull out to make the point
about Fortnite, we had to pullout all of the Disney Infinity characters and
all the Skylinders that they bought,Yeah, and do a guestimation on about
ten bucks apiece. And they hada thousand dollars worth of Disney Infinity and
Skylanders between the two and that didn'ttouch the lego dimensions. Just to let
them all like, yeah, like, that's that's how much money you've spent

(45:00):
over the past few years just invideo game stuff and just as accessories.
Yeah, and then they run outand want to buy amibos. Lord knows,
I do. Uh it's a Fortniteanything else in that that takes your
money? Yeah, I don't think. So those are good. That's I
think they've they've quartered the market onthat this year. Yeah. Yeah,
that might be a shurance. Soit's okay, all right, thank you,

(45:21):
Jimmy, Jimmy, Yes, sir, Or do you have a nomination
for best spiky Hair? Oh?I was, I was. I was
gonna go with Sora just as thedefault. Yeah, did that came out
last year? Right? Yeah,it came out, came out twenty nineteen.
Perfect, thank you because because uhyou got you got missed a Spikey

(45:43):
hare. And but if I remembercorrectly, there's not really that much else
in the way of Final Fantasy charactersin this like stock part of uh edom
Heart's three. So I feel likethere's gonna be some leak character or somebody's
got Spikey here Sonic, there'll bea few, alright. Anybody else for
Best Teeth of the Year. Ye, all right, thank you, Jimmy,

(46:08):
I'll talk to you later. Ohgood. Anybody else, there's Alaskan
Dave. All right, let's getAlaskan Alaskan Dave. Give me the last
he can. Dave. Welcome toshow my French. All right, you
have been listening, vile. Weare nominating categories and also nominations within the

(46:29):
category for the twenty nineteen gamer LandAwards that will be awarded later this month
or maybe whenever we get around toit. Do you have any categories you
would like to suggest and slash orany nominations for the previously stated categories.
I know it's been on the topicfor this one for IPG. So Kingdom
Hearts three. Okay, okay, before I say that in saying it's good,

(46:53):
but let's say the new deal seethat's coming up called Kingdom Hearts three
me mind, yep, yeah,it's coming out next month. That's for
twenty twenty. Yeah, that'll befun. Do you have any other games
that you would like to nominate forthings like Best Mystery, best remastered title,

(47:14):
best for Best. For Best Mystery, it would be Shatock Holmes.
But I've been binge playing a gamecalled Black sat under the Skin, which
is really a good type of novel. If I remember that's a game or
a book. It's like a gameneeds to made a book out of it
in a game, and I'm I'mreally actually binge playing that full of Quinn.

(47:35):
Stop. Did they make a bookout of a game? You don't
hear that very often? Yes,and they just use this shit and you
know they did not. And thenI showed him the game, and well
they should they did. Flint ofmy language explicit explicit, awesome, thank

(47:57):
you will ask a Dave potentialated allright, I'll find a way to get
these uh if you say it whilethey're talking if you drag them out,
that's oh you're timing it. Ohthat's cool, that's good. It's worth
it, all right. So I'llfind a way to post those online.
See if more people want to giveus some nominations. And then do you

(48:17):
want the people to vote or areyou and I making this final decision?
Hey, we do the people tovote. The people vote, all right,
as they're a way for the peopleto vote without knowing the results.
I will find a way. Youdon't have to, No, I'll find
a way. That's the Internet. It'd be fun if you could find a
way for the people to vote.Yeah, and they oh, you know
what you could do? Uh surveymonkey. Yeah, I'll just do something

(48:38):
like that. That's what I wasthinking. You know. I realized that
the Internet is kind of a mysteriousgroup of things that we all actually contribute
to and and hate and all theInternet says this, or the Internet says
that, you know, And thenwe also have Hollywood. Hollywood, Oh
whatever Hollywood did. They're both theselike amorphous non entities. Yeah, exactly.

(49:00):
The government would be like, oh, the government, at least the
government you can point to like that'sthe government, but like point to the
internet, point to the point toHollywood. It's really hard to be like,
there's Hollywood does this. I don'tknow why. That reminds me of
a joke in that show, theSuccession show I was talking about where this
guy was bragging about how he's goingfor a second doctorate and the other person

(49:21):
was like, she goes, oh, that's good that you spend like twelve
years of your life when it takesme like five seconds to find on wicker.
It's true. It's funny because it'strue, funny because it's true.
All right, well take a break. Are we doing tails from Terry?
Oh? Yeah? Got I spreadsaga contin o brood saga. I couldn't

(49:42):
say always, so I slipped itto an accent. Now I'm just I'm
gonna stop. One of these days, I am going to pass out.

(50:29):
All that one I had a lotof storyop butt and a half tinned up.
And that one that so many tales. Oh, it gave me a
little goosebumps. That was a test. I think I should keep my eyes
open because I really lose track ofwhere I am in physical space and time.
Yeah, there's so much blood beingsent to the back of my throat
if you ump out, you seeI can't remember the name of it,

(50:51):
but that show the animated show onAmazon Prime with a better call Sault Guy
Bob Odenkirk. No oh, Ithink you might get a get out of
it. But basically, like it'sthis weird storyline where she has these magical
powers where she just jumps through time, but she can't really control it.
Yeah. Then and I end upin Tiria saga. Since we have done

(51:15):
a podcast together, we have bothbegun, enjoyed and concluded the annual Winter's
Day Festival, and it was amagical experience. It is their Christmas festival
UM, and Tiria's home, thehuman hubbase called Queen's Something is five corners

(51:37):
h is transformed into a magical Winter'swonderland because the humans in the world of
Tiria celebrate this holiday. A verywise entrepreneurial only puts the festival in that
one town because they're willing to payfor it. That's the end world explanation
UM. And so it has thissort of like he pulls this giant blimp

(51:59):
that hovers over the city. He'shis name is ticks t i x X
and uh he he is part ofthe Assurance that are very like uh,
crafty, cunning, shrewd, andso he built the and they like to
build things. So he built thisand he's like, here's a good way
to fund my research projects. Iwill essentially become Hallmark and market this to

(52:22):
the to the humans because they'll they'llgo for this and they'll they'll pay for
things. It's pretty great. So, uh, that's great. So in
the there's a bunch of little festivals. You can actually play music. So
you go and do a bell choirevent in your keys one through or zero
through, you know, one throughzero. Yeah, we've done this before.

(52:45):
You sit and do keys and soyou you you play part of music.
Um and you get to fight insnowball fights these epics smokes, PvP
battles and things. But what wasexciting last year if you recall I I
didn't realize how to do it untilthe very end and only got one on
special Winter's Day weapon in which itlooks like a present waiting for you under

(53:06):
the tree that has been wrapped tolook exactly like what it is. So
they have swords that you wield likea sword, but it's wrapped up with
wrapping paper and a bow and stuffon top. So I was able.
You have to do three events everyday for five days to unlock one weapon,
and this year I got three.Got three new weapons. I have

(53:28):
an axe a staff to go alongwith my sword and shield, and it
was it was the first time sincegetting my second legendary that I equipped a
different shield. And then I boughta really cool backpack as well. So
I took a character, dressed herall up to look like she's in like
Christmas Garb, and she has arapped shield and green wrapping paper, a

(53:50):
wrapped sword and red and then abackpack that's a twinkling light Christmas reef and
she just runs around celebrating Winter's Dayleft and right. It's been a wonderful
experience. Last year, did youonly got a shield? That was that's
all I got? So now Ihave the axe, I have the staff,
uh and uh great, Sorry,I got three. I can't remember
all a No, I was tempted. It's it's so interesting because you can

(54:15):
get Winter's Day festive versions of yourmounts for for real cash in the game.
You can buy them as skins tounlock, and every year I'm like
gosh, this looks so good.I really want it, but I only
want it for a month. Ye, just like Christmas decorations there looks like
and you always want to keep yourChristmas decorations up and there's so much fun,
and then by like h January eighth, which is what happened to us

(54:37):
this year, Like get this stuffout of here. I look like I'm
wearing my pj's at two o'clock inthe afternoon. This is stupid, and
so I've learned not to do that. But I am still the character that
was dressed all winters Day. She'sstill dressed in her Winter's Day garb.
Because here's here's what could be differentabout is that the current expansion is called

(55:00):
the Ice brewd Saga, so everythingtakes place in ice landscapes. So even
now the game, when I'm playing, it's still kind of in a Winter's
thematic area, and I just lookfestive, like, yeah, I'm still
drinking hot cocoa. Not yet, because there's enough snow around, you know,
for you and I. Well,in that one area, as soon

(55:23):
as Ticks packs up his inflatable dirigible, it just all dissolves and it becomes
a beautiful spring Day all over themap, and so overnight, you log
in on on the day on Monday, it's Wonderus snow Land. Tuesday,
it's gone, is there? Likeif you were to time it out,
can you see ticks pack up hisor like that? So they've done things

(55:45):
like that, but for these festivalsthey haven't. So the very first festival
they ever did, a mad KingThorne exploded out of a fountain in the
middle of town and he destroyed it, and so for months that was Halloween
for the following several months that thefountain was broken. Then there was a
donation thing in the game to helpbuild enough money to fix the fountain.

(56:13):
I think you've talked about this too, right, And then eventually they fixed
the fountain, and then a fewmonths later the whole town was under siege
and so every every day you winin some other part of the town was
being destroyed. So it doesn't havelike events that you have to like set
an alarm to make sure you dothose no no, And they've experimented that.
I mean now the game is sevenyears old, so they've experimented with
different variations of that, like howhow much do people want to dial in

(56:36):
What they found is fun is thatyou give people about a three week to
six week window to enjoy the content. And festivals are fun this year because
they've established there are five festivals throughoutthe year, and if you do if
you do all the five festivals everyyear, every throughout the year, you
get a little token that allows youto being directly to that particular festival and
as long as it's active, yougo right to the heart of it.

(56:59):
And of course it doesn't work afterthat. And if you collect all five,
you can trade them out for asuper token that beems you to whatever
festive is active, and that'll beIt's a fun like year long collection that
we're all working on and another reasonto log in every day. The uh
My sons participated in their first liveevent in a game where it was just
after New Year's and they were playingFortnite and then it was funny to hear

(57:22):
from the living room like I waswatching a show and working on my computer,
I think or something. I waslike, wait, what's happening?
What did you What did you do? No, I didn't do that.
What's nice? And they're like whatwhat? And then they and what it
was is I guess what game werethey playing? Fortnite? It was Fortnite.
They were the Battle Royale, andin the middle of it, like
the game kind of stopped and therewas a countdown nice and this big like

(57:43):
disco ball like showed up, andthen when it got to one, it
was like the whole map had Theyhave those boogie bombs that make you dance
when you throw the grenade. Soeverybody started dancing at the end, and
they just thought that was the mostamazing, that's so cool. Oh my
god, it's so cool. Whilethey were they were just dancing in the
end and the game stops right gamestock and then uh, and then they

(58:07):
went back to it and they're like, oh, so great, that was
so cool. But you can youhelp me? Maybe you don't help me
understand why they like the skins somuch. So I like the skins.
That's what I like to collect withinGuild Wars. I like to get different
outfits and different why because it doesn'tchange the game play. And see,
I that's how I've always been forever. And then I I kind of um

(58:30):
have enjoyed Maybe Skylanders help me seethis, But it gives you the sense
of like, um, you're essentiallywearing something different, right, Like,
so you you're not you're not puttingthe same costume on every day. You're
not putting the same clothes on.You get to wear something different for that
environment. Would you be as itto it as if it would change Koreina
North entirely, Oh very much.So that would be even better to me,

(58:52):
like because that that's the game mechanicin Guild Wars is what's in your
hands affects your first five skills. So if you have a two ended weapon,
it affects all five. If youhave something different in your right hand,
that's your first three skills. Inthe second two is your left hand
or off hand they call it,and those change based on what you're holding.
I think it'd be super cool thatthe other skills change based on what

(59:15):
you're wearing, So like, ifyou ever it makes sense. But like,
that's my whole argue with him,is that in Fortnite they if you
whatever outlet you're wearing doesn't change thegameplay. I think it's it's just a
place for customization because I enjoy lookingat the character. I go, oh,
that's me in this world, Andfor years I didn't you remember about
a year ago, I realized Iwant to support this game, so I'm

(59:36):
going to buy some skins, andI've gotten a lot of joy out of
being like, oh, I havethis really cool skin. Then you can
now you can modify those a lotmore, so they have a lot more
customization, like colors and things. You can do more to them. I
get that it doesn't change the gameplay, but it changes the way you interact
with the game, and I thinkit's nice because then for gamers you don't

(59:59):
it doesn't change your game experience. It just changes the aesthetic. It's like
buying a car and like options shown, you get the options, but you
view on a different color, paintjob, or a different interior or something,
then we're gonna we're gonna change toyeah, exactly. That makes um
not at all. I think whatyou stumble on or what you said,

(01:00:20):
I think is an important topic forus to discuss, which is events that
happened during the end of the year. So everybody has time off during that
Christmas and there's a lot of gamesout. So I was popping in Battlefront
a bunch of Star Wars Battlefront twoduring the week between Christmas and New years
because they were giving three times xpuh in all their events, and I

(01:00:40):
like, every time I was ina map, I was leveling up once
or twice. And I'm terrible atthat game. It was fun. Noomen,
did you play it at all?No? I didn't put they got
it uh And I was gonna getone too, But I'm now I'm I'm
afraid. I'm afraid to get oneof those games. Why Jacob likes because
I got mad and then they stoppedplaying it, and I'm because Jacob was

(01:01:01):
really into the Borderlands. And thenfor Christmas he asked for what he had
one and he asked for two andthree. I was like, why not
finish one before you move on tothe other one? Or just get three?
Because two and two and a halfare old school graphics. Three is
a gorgeous looking game. Well, and the lady at game stop because it
ended up being I think my momor knows Natalie's mom who bought it for

(01:01:22):
them him. The lady at GameStopsaid that two is the best game in
her opinion. Oh well, Ihaven't played them all all the way through.
I enjoyed two, but so itis difficult to look at so when
you're playing two saw like shaded Cellor self yeah, and the red the
I mean it's it's a last generationgame, poured it over so as you
get I kept feeling like my eyescouldn't focus because the game is in real

(01:01:45):
time slow rendering objects. So youlook at it and it's out of focus,
and then it becomes more defined asyou get closer or touch it or
whatever, and it gets it getstiresome, I find, whereas, so
it's like looking at DVD essentially, and then the newer game is like looking
at a blue ring. But togo back to your point, is that

(01:02:07):
I think I think if there wereevents, I think I would be into
that if they like I even Iwas like when they had the Star Wars
thing on Fortnite my kids. Thatwas the first time that we as we
all as a family like kind ofbuilt our day around them so they could
be logged in at ten thirty. And then, because it's family life at
ten thirty, it wasn't quite workingand they were impatient, and just as

(01:02:30):
it was about to start, Jacobbacked out of it so he couldn't oh
yeah, so he couldn't get backin. He watch it on YouTube,
so he didn't go into his brother'sErman watch. I don't think because I
think Jack did the same thing orsomething, because I was like, or
no, I don't think he did. And I think Jack just bailed.
Fomo is a real man, howI got it. But yeah, that's

(01:02:52):
so. But I think the Icould imagine if there was a game that
but the only game that I playedlike consistently that I'm not just playing for
a narrow if is maddened, Andthey don't. They they're getting closer to
that with these like but things likenow they're changing the little icon throughout the
season that shows up in your display, like at the dashboard on PlayStation,

(01:03:12):
where the teams like that icon changesthroughout the year. That's kind of fun.
Yeah, so it was. Andthen so for Halloween this year it
was Ray Lewis and there was likea scary background, and then it would
change the Peyton manning for Christmas.Still, the game I want to play
in Madden is being able to buildmy own franchise. I want to propose
an expansion, have to build alogo, go through market testing, put

(01:03:36):
down a bid, go through buildingthe stay alone. How long could I
play that game? Yeah? Iwould play that game to its end.
Really, Oh yeah, me,because that's a cool simulator. That's my
favorite part about football is the historyof the teams and how they joined the
league and why they joined the league. And when it's not enough just to
be the owner in the franchise modefor you, right, No, that's

(01:03:57):
none of the things I enjoy.I want, I want to I want
It's not enough freedom any because allyou really do is you set the ticket
prices in the concessions and I wantyou want to move or build a stadium.
I don't think it's possible. Idon't think it's a game that can
exist, but I want to,Like I want to represent Idawa, and
like try to figure out what teamwould get Idawa on board with putting down

(01:04:18):
the money to get an expansion teamfrom the NFL, Like what would it
take to convenue be interested in negotiatingplayer contracts at all? Either? Oh,
maybe that that could be part.I would think that would have to
be part of it, especially oncethe team is together. But I think
that's always fascinating to me, oflike how do you start a team from
zero? And yeah, so thismakes you want to talk to you about

(01:04:41):
the XFL. But we don't havetime for this was not the time.
We have spent zero time on yourevents thing. You know, I've said
you everything I needed. We're donewith Guild Wars. I have to tell
you about one last thing before wego the whole time. For years now,
whenever I've been following Guild Wars onInstagram, often h some other game
will show up called UM Black orBlack Desert. Yes, Black Desert.

(01:05:02):
Do you know it? No?Gosh uh, it'll It'll confuse me because
I'll look at and be like,oh no, no, that's not it.
So Black Desert is another MRPG fantasybased It's more it's kind of the
same but different, like anything youwould expect. I don't know how to
distinguish it much more than that. But they came out with a mobile game

(01:05:24):
last year and it is like playingin MMRPG on your phone, and the
game is gorgeous. About this,I think I might have showed you in
person. Maybe I'll show you herethat it's you. It's my new favorite
game. I go to the pointwhere it feels like you're playing a game
I've enjoyed other UM games on myphone. Obviously, everybody Loves, Angry

(01:05:48):
Birds or Plans Versus Zombies. Ireally enjoyed Iron Marines, but those all
feel like they're mobile games. Thisthis plays like an actual game, like
I log in. The thing that'sgreat about it different from Iron Marines is
that wherever you stop playing, itdoesn't mind that you go away and come
right back like Iron Marines. Rightthere are a lot of games where you

(01:06:11):
close it come back you've lost thelevel, like Langry Birds, Plants Versus
Zombies. It's an online game whereverI'm on the map, just like a
role playing games. Soon as Ilog off, if I come back,
that's where I'm standing that I'm stilldoing those things. It has quests that
come up, It's fully acted. There are voices throughout the entire game,
animations that come from the characters thatare talking to you, and the skills

(01:06:34):
are interesting. The ability to upgradethem as interesting. The world has as
much lore, and it's fascinating becauseI've never played the PC version of Black
Desert, but I'm really digging themobile one. So join me and we
shall we shall play together, weshall rule the desert together. It's funny
because you know on Sundays your iPhonewill give you your screen time analysis,

(01:06:56):
and so it keeps telling me like, oh, the number of out time
you've spent playing on your phone isgoing up. Last week you played Black
Desert for thirty minutes. Shae knowyour name, Shape show, So I
recommend it. I recommend it verygood. Joined cut you off now,

(01:07:19):
Okay, who's gonna talk personally? All right, that's our show. Make
sure you follow Kevin on Twitch bygoing to twitch dot tv slash the Kevin
Miller. Also, if you wouldlike to talk to us during the show,
and I don't, I'm so stupid. You saw you would see why

(01:07:43):
I'm laughing right now and why thatmoment just happened if you were out on
the Twitch, because I thought Kevinwas trying to desperately get my attention.
I am trying to desperately get yourattention for what the other campaign? So
we have a new campaign. Youcan keep it going. So, uh
you know Funco right, Funcle Pomps, Funcle Vinyl. There is no a
Sly Cooper Funco. Oh no,so we're gonna change that. We're gonna
funco this. All you have todo is go to the suggestion page Funco

(01:08:09):
has a suggestion page. They wantto know what you want to be a
Funco. Fill out the form tellthem you want Sly, Cooper and Gang
to have their own Funco Vinyl horrible, disgusting. I don't want to talk
about that's horrible. There are Imean they they cut deep on those funcos.
There are all sorts of bizarre thingsthat are Funco and Sly doesn't have

(01:08:30):
a funko yet. I don't understandthat. So cool, bro, I
have it on my Twitter. Youcan see it on at the Kevin Miller.
Well, we'll get a proper youare. We'll make a bit dot
Lee next week, so you couldgo to it, uh and and let's
get Sly Cooper his own funko.I love this plan. You could also
go to bit dot Lee, Slash, gamer Land, Discord and find other
like minded people who could direct youto how you could vote for us like

(01:08:51):
Hooper Funco as well. You couldtalk to people like Nolan b Alaskan,
Dave Cody, uh Dog draws DoodleNoodle, me named b Tara and snook
him scal Carmen. Because these arejust a few of the people that hang
out there like it's the cheers, bar Did you just read all the Grammy
nominations for Best R and B?That's disclosure. I'm like three and a

(01:09:15):
half shots in right now. Allright. So, if you're into a
drunken animator chatting with you on theinterwebs, do it. Go to bit
dot Lee, slash gamer Land,Discord. Ryan will hook you up with
a password and you're good to go. My friend on behalf of the Kevin
Miller dot com, that's just worshipsaying okay bye,
