Speaker 1 (00:26):
It's the Internet. You're busy, Let's do this. Welcome to
the Games Decides Podcast. This is a podcast where we
decide everything happening in the world of video games, so
you never have to think for yourself.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
I'm your host, Jeff Grubin.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
With me is Mike MANAUGHTI in today's episode, Marathon got delayed,
Metroid Prime four is out soon, and Mount rushmore of
rude gaming dudes with tudes.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
That's a good one, well done. I was busy. I
didn't even know I didn't do that. Who did neither?

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I think we talked about this a few weeks ago,
and now Christian remembered.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Christian was that you.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yeah, it was there, and I was just like, let's
do this because we don't.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Have it, did not have. I got to ask, did
we come up with a topic today?

Speaker 4 (01:08):
I did?

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Like it was. It was a rough let's say it
was a rough day. Jan's out and I'm glad he
was out. I just had to figure out a bunch
of stuff, like how to upload stuff to Giant Bomb.
Couldn't even get all that working because like the game
mess worked, voicemailed up truck up to the premium feed
broke and It's like I kind of like pieced that
together a little bit, but then he just took it over.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
But I got everything else.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Uploaded, and then I immediately was like, oh shit, I
reset my obs. I deleted all my profiles, all of
my my scene collections, so I had to redo tonight's
show and I couldn't find all the assets, and I'm like, yeah,
it's time to kind of maybe refresh those things anyhow,
so kind of piece some stuff together so the show
looks different.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
That's what that was.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
But yeah, I've been kind of in this chair NonStop
since Game Mess Mornings. Also had a long lawyer call
in between all that, so yeah, it was a hell
of a day, so I did not have time to
think of a thing. So Christian Dick you for remembering that,
But mostly Mike, how are you?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:00):
I feel kind of guilty because this was like I
had some very busy days this week, but today on
the games beat side, it was a holiday day for us,
so I like slept, well, I did sleeping because I
got up early and went to a garage sale and
bought some old video games there. But then I like
took a nap. I did voicemail dump truck. I streamed
Sekero a bunch, which was a bunch of fun. So
like today was a little bit of my taking it

(02:22):
a little bit easy.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
It's finally no reason to feel get to Yeah, you
had those busy days and a lot of this stuff
was just stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
There was no way to help with. Oh oh wait,
what's that? That's what this is? Donkey Kong sixty four.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
I did get a copy of this at the garage sale, which,
by the way, as great as the Yellow cartridge is, Like,
the weird, just lifeless render of Donkey Kong on the
cover of this game has always been a little weird
to me.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Okay, that's that's Silicon Graphics, baby, that's what that's what
you do.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
That's what you get. I am kind of hankering to play.
I'm very excited for Bonanza.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Man.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
That that direct was so much more like I was
excited for that game I sold in. They had more
interesting things to show there than I was expecting. I
can't wait for that.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Yeah, is this not showing up now? Now I'm getting
frustrated because I just set that up.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
The stream Alm. Oh there it goes there it popped in.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Okay, fantastic all right then, Yeah, Mike, I'm glad that
you got a chance to go do that. Doc you
hung sixty four? Have you played that yet? Are we
that's still like a threat if we reach that internal goal,
it's a threat. It's a threat. We got a couple
of things we have to decide if we're going to do.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
If we're if like some of us are going to
actually go to Minneapolis for summer games, done quick.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I'm thumbs up to that.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Like I'm saying, like I want to do you and
I should start playing that, planning that if we even
we want to do it on the cheap, I don't
mind driving us there and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Like there's a lot of things we could do. We'll
figure it out.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
But then, you know, we also have to start thinking
about pax West, believe it or not. If we're going
to do that, I will say, and you know, if
we decide that, we've been very busy and maybe we
need to take one of these offs. I don't think
it's you know, a travesty.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
That'll be fun to go though.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
We'll see what people feel.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Well, I mean, like I feel like there's a chance
we still could get another last minute invite the games
Com and that one. It's like, okay, thank you, but
maybe not this year. We'll set it busy. I'm not
going to games I'll say that right now. I'm not
going to games cop. I might be right there with
you staying at home. All right, Well, let me get
my doc back up here and remember what I say. Yes,

over this last week also been thinking about other ways,
like I mentioned, like probably about a month ago, as

(05:07):
we were getting ready for SGF, other ways. I like
doing new stuff on here. I've got some ideas. I
think I might actually go ahead and make Mikey and
Naire a regular show. Mike start coming up this stuff.
I had fun doing that. Those would be like fun
quick ones and we can kind of always like what
maybe like escalate, like if you do win one, like
the next week could be for more and even harder

(05:29):
and stuff like that. I like that IDEA friendly reminder,
you can also become a supporter by becoming a YouTube
member or a Twitch subscriber. Basically gets you all the
same benefits. Hit that join here button here on YouTube,
go to twitch dot tv slash Tokota when Mike is streaming,
go to twitch dot tv slash Christian Underscore r a
RG when he is streaming, or Jeff Grubb.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
And that gets you all the same benefits.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Excuse me, all right, man, I'm ready for this cough
to be gone, but it's just lingering.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
I got I got some big topics, Mike, you're ready
to talk about them. Metrod Prime four, we can start there.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Metroid Prime four add on London Underground claims the game
is out now.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
I saw this.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
I knew you were streaming, and I immediately rushed into
your chat to be like, Mike, just tell me what's
going on.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
And we still don't know what's going on. No, but
there's I mean, look, I'll tell you. What I don't
think is happening is I don't think the game is out.
I don't think but ThReD Prime four is out or
out today or something like that.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
I think your hunch on that could be correct. I've
looked around. I haven't seen it anywhere. This okay, So yeah,
London Underground in the tube, there's a wall of actually
switch to ads. It's not just Metroid Prime for beyond.
There are a bunch of switch to ads, including for
the system itself and other games, and those ads say
out now as well. The possibility here is that, like

(06:52):
I think, maybe the simplest answer, Mike is this is
a mistake, Like this is another round of ads that's
supposed to go up later or May. There was some
mixed messaging of Hey, all these Nintendo games are coming
and they don't know what do they have?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
It's Mario and Metroid and all this stuff. That's Can
I just say that's out now too as well? It
could be that simple possibility, Yeah, the console's out now
for sure. The other possibility here is this thing's out
very soon and this ad was supposed to be waiting
in the wings for that moment.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
But I'm like afraid of getting my hopes up. What
are you? How are you feeling about that?

Speaker 5 (07:30):
It's really weird because like this the same out now
kind of like it's on the literal sticker, but that
graphic is on the Mario Karte World billboard, right, It's
the same kind of thing there, But then like the
Donkey Kong Bonanza billboard just has that date July seventeenth.
It's so weird, and I think there's even like I
think the out now sticker on the Metroprime four one

(07:52):
is even different than the Mario Kart one because I
think it has some text under it that I assume
is saying also available and switch one.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
I can't tell. I can't see it. So VGC has
a better uh, picture. If you're not looking there.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
That's what I'm looking at, because like, okay, on the
Metro Prime four one, there's just like a little bit
on the bottom right jutting out extra while the Smario
Kart World one looks like it doesn't have that. That
might be me reading too much into it, but like
it it has to be an error of some kind,
whether it's a printing error, a we put this up

(08:25):
too early error, we got confused about, you know, where
this out and now thing goes. But now my question is, well,
how's it still up? Like our phone calls happening now, like, hey,
get that down. That game's not out yet, So I
keep looking for updates to see what's going on here.
I mean, I know, you know, it's it in the

(08:45):
in the US, it's a holiday, it's not Europe. So
is the Nintendo not doing something? What's going on here?

Speaker 1 (08:50):
I don't, I mean, who knows, like what like, because
there's got to be several layers right of like Nintendo
figuring out about this, talking to their marketing edge, you see,
which then talks to the people on the.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Ground who control the ads on the tube.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
I mean, so I could see there being some lag there,
But you're right, this feels like the kind of thing
where they would be like a red alert fire, Hey go.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Put this out, go deal with this right now.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
But okay, but back to getting my hopes up, Like,
do we think that this thing gets announced in the
next couple of weeks and just as out soon after that? Okay,
you know what, let's talk about your thing. Do you
think this is going to be another shadow drop?

Speaker 5 (09:33):
I don't think it's a god right, I mean, they
did it with Metrod before they could and I'm looking
at another angle here. There's no extra text under the
out now. It looks some people think that maybe it's
just plastered over where we are released they could go.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
I see what they're saying. So there's like there's like
the around the now part. There's like this other box
that seems to be hovering in the background of the.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Backdrop for out now.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Yeah, that's what it was.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
It kind of like juts off to the left of that,
suggesting that there's something behind there.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Maybe I don't know. To me, that just looked like
a design choice. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
But this again, it's weird because the Mario Kart one
doesn't have that other aspect. It's just the out and
now without that little extra jutting out stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Yeah, which is weird.

Speaker 5 (10:19):
It's weird. Look, this game could be shot drop. Here's
my thing though, Metro Prime four Beyond's really coming out
in between the launch of the system and Donkey Kong Bonanza.
That seems wild to me, Like, why wasn't it just
a release game at that point? It's kind of been
from the very beginning. I said Metro Prime fourth should
be the other release game, because you know, you have

(10:40):
Marco World w it'd be nice to have another kind of,
you know, really heard gamers game kind of thing. And
I think a lot of people and you know, does
it matter for sales and whatnot? Maybe not, But I
think a lot of people are kind of like feeling that,
like I wish there was sort of one more big
Nintendo game here. It's like the idea that like you
would hold it for just a few weeks after is.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
This strange to me? But Nintendo is strange.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah, I mean, I guess the other possibility here is
and I like, we have no idea how long it
takes for the communication between Nintendo and marketing and these
people that actually put up this stuff physically.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
How long is that process?

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Is this something that is months in the making, And
is there a time when Metro Prime for Beyond was
supposed to be out before the launch of the Switch To?
So the messaging this company got was, oh, yeah, that's
one of the games that will be out by the
time the Switch Too is out, And that changed so
and they never someone never updated it or never got

(11:38):
the memo, or there was a miscommunication or something, and
this is just a leftover piece of that understanding. As
I think about it, maybe that's kind of what I
feel happened here, because I don't know. I had the
sense that Metro Prime four for Switch one was supposed
to launch before the switch To, and maybe Nintendo changed
their mind pretty late and wouldn't surprise me if this

(11:58):
is evidence of that.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
Yeah, it could be, and that seems more plausible to
me then.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:04):
The fact that this game is super imminent and this
is how we're finding out about it, There's no way
this is some deliberate gorilla marketing tactic or something like that.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
So there are other ads up in the hallway.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Mario Kartworld does say out now, Donkey Kong Bonanza says
the seventeenth of July. So I mean they have that
date right, there's Mario Party. I can't see what the
date says on that. I guess that's right next to Metro.

Speaker 5 (12:27):
Actually, the thing is, there is weirdness about much of
Prime four because why doesn't it have a date. Why
is it just this year? And it still has been
this year that has not been clarified. And were just
waiting for the Nintendo app to tell us? When does
the Nintendo Today app switch over? What's it going to
say tomorrow? That's what I want to know.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, I mean, and I think I'm with you on
that where I think the next time we hear about
Metroid from Nintendo, it will be in the Nintendo Today app.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
So yeah, people keep their eyes up on that. Then.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
I think I have that installed. I can't remember the
last time I opened it. It was probably the first
week it came out, and I haven't looked at it since.

Speaker 5 (13:08):
Is there any true Nintendo's silence here is deafening?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Or is that?

Speaker 5 (13:11):
Or of course Nintendo's not going to say anything.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
I mean, when did this story go up? I mean
this was not that long ago.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
I mean I was streaming a couple hours we've been
talking about this now.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Yeah, I mean, you know vcc's got their local time
up because you know it's a UK based organization, they
put it up at midnight twelve eighteen am. So for
Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo UK, I think there's a
UK specific one.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
They're asleep right there.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
They're not in the office, they're not working, so so
that that might explain a lot of like the silence
on that front, and like Nintendo of America or NCL
are probably like have people on call up, but hey,
what's going on, But they also probably don't want to
overstep the balance of like hey, Nintendo UK, what's going on?
Can you find out what's going on so you can
explain it so you can have an answer that probably
won probably won't happen until the morning for them, which

(13:58):
is in you know, another eight hours, which is maybe
when we do we even hear anything or does sisters
come down without because they don't have to acknowledge this.
This is going to be a thing that's very much
in our circles. And then I guess maybe they could
say something, I just don't.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Know it again, like it's like it's nintundo.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
You almost expect them not to say a thing, but
it is an ad saying that a game is out
that isn't out.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Right, Yes, it's weird.

Speaker 5 (14:22):
You can't have that.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
I I would prefer them just tell us what the
hell is going on, But it's like that they'll probably
if they do say anything, it'll be that was a mistake.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
We'll have more to say soon and then, And that's
kind of why I want to hear.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
But like, yeah, it's like it's the more they don't
say something, it's a little bit of that those games
coming out, like right now, what's going on? Because you're right,
I sure would like to play Metroid Prime for I
sure would enjoy that.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
You're right.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
And if we get through tomorrow and they don't say anything,
You're right, Mike, I will begin speculating even more so.
They probably they if this isn't a game that is
coming out soon, if this is a game that is
coming out this holiday, they probably should say something.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Right, that was a mistake.

Speaker 5 (15:03):
The game's not out now, that's all I gotta say. So, Yeah, well,
we'll keep it up. Maybe we'll be live updates throughout
the night.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
Here.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
We'll see I hope. So all right, marathon was delayed.
I kind of surprised the Bungee devs a little bit.
Apparently there's some reporting on that. Paul Tassi said, a
lot of developers at Bungeee found out when that went live.
You know, I've reported similar stuff before where it was like, hey, yeah,
the lot of developers were surprised by that, and it

(15:31):
was true. When I said that, all they're like, no,
they told people internally. It's like, yeah, they told some
people internally.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
How do you think I found out about the leak?
Of course that's out. Yes, some people knew.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Yes, some people knew, and I'm sure the same was
true here. And then I'm sure there were people who
were surprised and maybe there was a slack message and
they didn't see it. They're still surprised, right. People are
taking this as as evidence of the dysfunction at Bungee,
and I got to say, it's kind of hard not
to read it that way, but I think we kind

(16:01):
of know that there is.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
A lot of dysfunction at Bungee.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
How do you feel about that? How do you feel
about marathon? What happens next year?

Speaker 5 (16:12):
What does happen next. I mean, look, Marathon's going to
come out. I don't think that's a game that's gonna
get canceled or something like that. They are going to
release that thing. I mean, they said they're gonna tell
us this fall what the new release date looks like.
I want they're gonna have another test at some point,
because if you don't win people over with that at
least a little bit, Like, boy, how do you feel

(16:33):
going into that launch? But just it feels bad for
Bungie in general. Someone said to me that Bungee on
the Ropes is actually when they do some of their
best work, right. They weren't got that Destiny to expansion
that they really liked after's some rough patches with that game.
Destiny one's launch was sort of a mess, and then
it recovered with with that first big expansion with the
Take and King. So mate, maybe, but you know that

(16:55):
that's not really proof of anything. It's that they've gotten
kind of lucky before, but luck runs out. I don't
I have no idea what the future of Bungee is.
It just doesn't feel great right now.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Though, Yeah, I'm with you on that.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
I also don't just don't know how much I can
like care to pay attention to this game, Like if
I hear it's good one day, I'll perk up. At
this point, I'm putting in that bucket of there are
too many games another one for me to like that
I have to kind of force myself to understand and
then maybe one day like that is just the easiest

(17:29):
thing for me to click off on and be like
that can go in that I don't need to pay
attention to this bucket. And that's you know, unfair to
people who put years of their lives into it, and
even a company that's put you know, tens hundreds of
millions of dollars into it, But you know it's my
time and money. I only have so much, so many
seconds on this planet. So I'm kind of get to

(17:50):
the point where it's like, man, I just don't I
don't care about what happens to Marathon and that, Yeah,
I think that could be a little crude, a little
you know course, but that's just where I'm at with
this game, and I think a lot of people are
as well, where it's like, hey, that arc creator looks fun,
I'll play that, and I don't have time for another game.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
There's two aspects of a chef.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
There's that part of I definitely just want a company
to thrive because people work there and I want them
to be happy and have good job. There's another part
of me it's like things I could care about that
would come from Bungee, a Destiny three, a big single
player shooter, it doesn't seem like we're.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Getting either of those.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
So it is kind of like, like, it's hard for
me to get all that excited about Bungee right now
when it's just sort of this weird life support, Destiny
Too stuff, and then Marathon, which you know I did
play I didn't like, and they're going to make some changes,
and it's not even like a point where well, I'll
check out the changes. I need to hear that the
changes are interesting and that the game's turned around, and

(18:50):
maybe then I'll go and check it out again. My
interest level for it is just so rock bottom right now, yep.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
And that's not to say it can't change again. If
you know, ped x in and chattis saying that there's
elements that that people haven't seen publicly that have the
sauce according to others, If that gets revealed and I
begin to hear that buzz I will want to pay
attention at that moment, But right now, it's just like,
I don't know how much I really cared in the

(19:16):
first place. It was definitely a professional curiosity, and I,
you know, I hope for the best for them. There's
plenty of games that do really good that I don't
have any interest in. I hope this is able to
be that be one of those and then gets to
a point where it actually does win me over, But
we're pretty far away from that in this moment.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
All right, let me get back to.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
The dock here. There's a Capcom showcase next week. You
know they're gonna have updates on Residieval Pragmata, Street Fighter.
There was another one of Monster Hunter Wilds You expecting
any surprise. This kind of feels like that's a pretty
hefty docket for a forty five minute showcase from Capcom,
which usually is a little bit lasadaisical to kind of
let me slowly move through through their stuff.

Speaker 5 (19:59):
Yeah, I sure, Fighter six. Uh Segod. I think it's
the first character of season three, so well, I bet
we'll see our first gameplay of Segod and maybe get
a release date for him. Although Elene that came out
not too long ago, so it's not imminent, but you know,
we'll get we'll get a picture of that most Hunter.
You know, there's all sorts of posts launched that that
happens there. It's not like they're going to announce the
expansion yet. I'm kind of I'm kind of curious about

(20:22):
Pragmada now. Seems like people are a little bit high,
you know, relatively high on that after Chief RESIDENTEVL was
interesting though, because you know, we saw it demo Rizny
when I's and people played uh into you know, basically
that demo or similar to it, But it still seems
like they're holding a lot back there. Yeah, there's a
lot of rumors around about what else might be in
that game, So I'm curious if we see that aspect

(20:45):
of it now, if that's something they're holding onto for
much later, like the Game Awards even.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Yeah, I'm kind of at a point where it's like, yeah,
that this is a showcase where I expect them to
give us a lot of updates pragmat or something like
you said that, Yeah, we can focus on that because
that's still relatively new that people need to kind of
learn a lot about there's no no need to like
distract with like a big, huge other announcement.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
I don't know, but well, I think it just announced
that Pragmata is secretly a Mega Man game, and that
will count. I mean, there's a chance my favorite conspiracy
theory ever. Listen, it's I want you to really lean
into it, making sure it's based on that. They we'll
talk about it on Mega Man on Monday.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Fantastic Pragmata Truther Mike Manati on Mega Man on Monday,
Everybody watch Monday. Third party switch To game sales have
started off slow, with one publisher selling below our lowest estimates.
I'll kind of recap here because there's a little bit
more to it than that. That is a story that
originated from Chris string At at the Game Business. He

(21:52):
talked to a bunch of people that provided data to him,
and in the UK, for example, there are third already.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Like the share of third party.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Games sold on switch to, when you exclude even Mario
Kart World in the bundle, was very low.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
It was a little bit better than the.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Switch one, but not by much, and third party publishers
were expecting way more, at least according to the people
Drink talked to, and Drink did talk to one publisher
who said their sales were.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
Lower than their lowest estaments now.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Matt Piscatella, who has US data, responded to that responded
to that by saying, hate to contribute to the discourse,
but third party share of switch to software in the
United States is far better than it was during the
Switch one launch. Like, it's far too early to claim
best or worst, this or that or whatever when it
comes to switch to. She's this thing hasn't even been

(22:45):
out three weeks, Mike declare, If this is the best
or worst?

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Now, Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
Maybe I'm maybe some which of my good will of
the switch too. But when I did read there retal story,
I was like, that seems a little early for that.
It was also weird because they're like, and of course
there are exceptions. Well you know, le know, Cyberpunk's an
exception that's doing well. It seems like street Fighter six
is doing well. We've heard about that a bit. So
I'm like, well, what's not doing well? Like, you know, yeah,

(23:12):
maybe Sonic shutout Generations Crazy, maybe Bravely Default remaster. It's
not selling super well. That wouldn't necessarily shock me right either.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
But so it's like, there's only so many of these
old games that can really pop off, and you know
which ones they're gonna be. It's gonna be Cyberpunk because
the entire game is on the card and that's goodwill.
People love that and it runs well enough that people
can be like, hey, I can play that on handout
I only maybe I only ever had a switch, I'll
finally play Cyberpunk.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
That story rights itself.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Of course, that game did fine, and then Street Fighter
was the graphical showcase that everyone's.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
Like, this looks really good.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
So, I mean, how much money do we expect people
to have to spend on third party games beyond like
two big ones, like if it's if it's Cyberpunk at
street Fighter, if the drop off after that is bravely default. Yeah,
like you said, I'm not surprised at all.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Yeah, there's not a I don't think it really are.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
A ton of people are like, all right, time for
my third or fourth game, and that's you know, and
I know way games Yaka is a zero and now
it's time for Hitman like this, Yeah, probably not a
ton of that going aroad.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
I bet Puyo Puyo Tetris did a little bit better
in the early days of the Switch than pull Yo
Pullyo Tetris.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
To s oh absolutely did on Switch.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Too, because we've gotten a bunch of versions of that
game already, and there's a lot more options here at
launch now.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Mike, I'm playing Puyo Pullyo Tetris. I love it. That's fit.
It's a good game. I'm glad it's there.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
I hope companies like Sega can continue to justify putting
out games like that on the Switch too. Maybe they'll
have to like recalibrate some a few things, but I
don't think this leads to a bunch of them running
away from that system. It is far too early. I
think you've got to like see how things shake out
here in the next few months, right.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
Plus, I think for so many people, just having Mario
Kart and then all the backwards compatibility stuff is kind
of enough to keep you busy.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
For a bit.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
And uh, you know.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
Plus some people are like, I gotta for Donkey Kong.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
I don't have room for.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
Yaka's a zero or Braveley default right now. So I
don't know, we'll get more data suit. You know, let's
let's wait a little bit here. But yeah, it's like,
how much do we expect their ports at the end
of the day. Almost all this stuff, a lot of
these aren't new games. If you want to think of
you know, say I said, here's our brand new game,

(25:23):
it's a switch To exclusive coming for a launch. No,
they poorted Yaka is a zero in the you know,
a new version of Tetris two, right, the Squarens didn't
have a new RPG for the launch of the switch
To is a remaster of Braveley Default.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
That's nice, but it's nice.

Speaker 5 (25:41):
It's nice, but you're not You're not gonna get amazing
sales out of this stuff. Was there a seeming like
third party like brand new game. It's just stuff that's
newer ish like split fiction. Again, Yeah, that's nice, but
nobody nobody even had a Zombie You. Nobody even wanted
to buy a Zombie You this time. So yeah, that's
what you get.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
I think that's the exact right take on this is
like these games, I think I'm probably doing fine for
what they are, and what they are is mostly kind
of old. And some of them are not just old.
They were very popular on systems they were already out on.
So there's just a limited number of people who are
going to be spending the money on these things at
this point. If you're someone who really wanted to play Cyberpunk,

(26:20):
even you probably already played Cyberpunk, so you're already like
kind of limited and that game did fine despite that.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Only so many games are going.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
To do fine despite having you know, headwinds pushing up
against them. All right, that does it for the big
topics I wanted to talk about. We have been getting
plenty of super chats, So why don't we take a break.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
We'll come back.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
I'll Mike read those super chats. We'll talk about what
they want to talk about right after this. All right,
we're back. Let's do the super chats. Then we'll get
to our topic here in a little bit. Mike, go
ahead and read those for me.

Speaker 5 (26:49):
Side from Saskatchewan said, just got good pathology results and
super glad I got surgery when I did worse graded
cancer than expected. Would have been worse if I waited
five plus years. I'm glad your pathology results are good.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Simon.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
I hope you that things continue to go well for you. You uh,
do uh, you do anything you need to do to
rest and recover their buddy. Thank you so much for
the super chat and for chicking in with us.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Yeah we're I just love seeing you there and yeah,
I hope you're feeling better. Man, that's awesome.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Simon's back again. Do you think they'll make a Professor
Layton collection? I guess, man, now that you say it,
I'm surprised they haven't. It seems like Capcom has done
really well with those Phoenix Right collections. Not only do
they sell, but people keep discovering those games. Jeff, you're oh,
that's a good point.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Yeah, like something they dis like over the years, like
it's and then the whole collections there on Assistant and
they have like the Switch so they play all of them.
So yeah, so what do you think of that means
for Professor Layton?

Speaker 5 (27:46):
Because there's like there's the original it should just happen
because there's the original trilogy, and then there was a
sequel trilogy I believe, so it's like, yeah, just.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Like you know, how one right around the corner, so and.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
There's the new one coming out, and then there's really
weird things like that mobile game starring his sons or whatever.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
Children.

Speaker 5 (28:04):
We don't know, worry about that, but at least, yeah,
do the original trilogy then it was a prequel trilogy.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Actually, that's right.

Speaker 5 (28:10):
He's like Star Wars. Yeah, and those are all six
of those are great games. They should absolutely be in
either one collection or split it off into two collections.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Why not. And there's that new Professor Layton game.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
What I can't remember the name of it, but yeah,
that's supposed to be coming out, so why not promote that.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
But with these old games, I'm excited for that game.
I'm excited for the Professor Layton.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
It's been a while.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Yes, that's one of those games where it's like they
re released that on smartphones and I did buy that.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
That's a really good adaptation to smartphones. All right, what
else we.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
Got, as I says, is that tattooing Mike bet still happening? Yeah, Jeff,
you know, you got all this free time once you're
co op playing all of Balter's Gate three playthrough happening.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
I'm building up my momentum. I'm like just stretching my legs.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I'm like doing a little like hip side to side action,
trying to get limber and Also, I bought a website
and I got kind of busy.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
But I think we're supposed to do with Jan.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
That might be difficult because it's hard to get me
in Jan, like in one of these rooms for extend.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
That's one of the reasons why I said it was
never gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Yeah, well, okay, keep defying me and you'll see, you'll see.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
You'll see.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
Uh next one here, let's see he is from Lex,
says Mike Rideau. Is a great switch to before bed game.
This is the that remaster of the h Shimmigummy Tense
uh Action RPG has come out. Jeff got pretty good reviews.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
I kind of check it out. But it's also it's
a very big game.

Speaker 5 (29:32):
It's a long game, and I'm kind of it's like,
I'm kind of happy playing between three at the moment,
and I like finding other stuff to do, killing time
until Donkey Kong. And I don't think I'm gonna beat
this game before Donkey Kong's out. It just it's too
much of an ask right now.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Yeah, this is for I know it's from Atlas.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
How does it relate to Persona?

Speaker 3 (29:55):
It's from the parent This off sprint of Shimmingham.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
He's like, okay, okay, is the main series, and then
from that you had spinoff series like Persona and like this,
which was originally called Devil Summoner, Devil survivor, Yeah, Summoner,
and now it's just called Rado instead of that. I
guess for some reason. It doesn't even have the SMT

(30:20):
branding on it anymore.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
It's the Stranger of Paradise of the Alice RPGs. Jeff,
that's a great way of putting there.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
You go, Thank you Chaos.

Speaker 5 (30:33):
I remember we were all making Chaos jokes and I
got really mad. And then the game actually came out,
and all the people who said that the game looked
cool and funny because it was stupid didn't actually buy
and play it, and I did. Oh Roxxo says question
for Manicatti, when wearing a Mario cap be considered inappropriate Italy,
I have a trip to Rome Plant and don't want

(30:54):
if anyone, no one will be offended. I think they
might think you're a fucking loser.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
I gotta be honest, I think the I think they'll
like it. Yeah, well I don't know. I'm just like
I haven't. I wasn't in Italy, so I don't know.
But but when I was in eastern Europe and I
was in town like tourist towns and Italians were also there,
all of them were the most out of pocket people
in a good way, like parentheses positive. They were all
wearing like crazy like local like like wigs to make

(31:21):
them look more like locals and stuff like that and celebrate. Now,
it was around New Year's so maybe that's just how
they do New Year's. But I don't know. The Italians
I've met in Europe seem like they'd be down to clown.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
I work with real Italians, not like Mike, and they
are really funny people. Really Wow.

Speaker 5 (31:37):
That's fine, But like you know, if you're you're here,
I'm sure of a foreign place, I would just try
to be I would try to be normal before I
start trying to put some mustard on.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
It, you know, but don't don't do it in sicily.

Speaker 5 (31:50):
Uh. Connor Woods's Bonanza as an action road trip musical
game of the Year. Oh, Jeff, I'm very excited about
the musical aspect of the game. It's like they d
and clear knew how much people like to jump up
Superstar Yeah, and We're like, well, we are the team
who did that game, so let's just double down and
all of that stuff for this. Oh god, Bonanza looks

(32:11):
so freaking good, Jeb I cannot wait.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Yeah, I mean taking Pauline singing, making that a part
of the game. It's a really good idea. And Nintendo
kind of is, I mean, if not the best. They're
up there with incorporating music into their games. I'm thinking
like Tears of the Kingdom in this moment like that,
I think is kind of unparalleled when it comes to
that stuff. But so if they're going to kind of
continue down that route where it's say, hey, we care

(32:34):
about every aspect of these games, including the music and
how that incorporates and integrates into the gameplay, I'm excited
about those possibilities. Also, they're just good songs. Jump Up
Superstar still a banger to this day.

Speaker 5 (32:45):
It's fantastic. You can't wait. Oh, Greg says, is fure
excuse me? Is F zero g X the prequel to
Yakuza one on PS two?

Speaker 2 (32:56):
It's the same team. There are those vibes.

Speaker 5 (32:58):
I think you said before that your dream Nintendo game
was a F zero set in just that mute City,
tot Seeds and c g X and I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
Now, let the Yakistan team work on it. Let's do it.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
Uh, Chad sea ast cats, Chad's chat chatalist. It's a
specialist chatalist. There were socialist, yeah, sat chaalist. Oh b nah, that's.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
What they say every time he gets a banana and
DK bonanza And I'm going to pop every time Hockey
kN sixty four.

Speaker 5 (33:36):
You know, it's like the whole undred one thing. I
know I'm supposed to find that painful, but let's pretend
that I've played many, many more painful games than that,
and like three D platformers. I mean, do you do
you really think I'm going to like find playing Donkey
Kong sixty four that painful?

Speaker 1 (33:51):
No, no, no, no no. I think you'll find moments
of it painful. I think you will find many parts
of it tedious, like when you're like, when you get
to a thing, you're like, I gotta go back and
get another character. But I mean, no, I played a
lot of that game. Of course I didn't one hundred
and one percent, but I played a lot of that game.
There's like good three D platform or stuff in there.
It's just buried under a lot of crap, and people

(34:12):
who are weaker than you are right to hate it.
It's not for them, but for a three D like you.
You're I think you're gonna find a lot of it
quite enjoyable.

Speaker 5 (34:21):
A crat access. How much do I have to super
chat to bring back Game Mess Jeopardy.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
We're always talking about things to do with like Game
Mess Jeopardy and stuff like that. It's a busy time,
and we maybe we me and Sean get a little
bit more time. We'll take take that time to talk
about it some more, but we'll see no prob Yeah,
go ahet, John.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
I'm still saying soon TM. But also, these two are
more fried than I thought that would be, so maybe
we push it just a little bit further.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Yeah, there's a lot a smidge FRIEDA.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
I can't even get them to watch a show. You
imagine that an episode.

Speaker 5 (34:54):
I think you said that I got to watch Columbus yesterday.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
I was gonna watch you when Steph got home, and
then she never came home.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
So yes, I also not watched it. Okay, good. I
was like, wait a second, that's right, Okay.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
That was incredible. Your face went on a time travel Journey.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
I was like, wait, we were supposed to do a
colub bros. What was that?

Speaker 5 (35:15):
I got to watch the show so prepared. Oh shit,
we're kidding, right, Okay, yeah, we'll get We'll get then.
I know game mess Game Club is also a little
behind everyone.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
I'm sorry. Well, everyone understands what's going on. We appreciate
everyone being so understanding.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
Yes, it's been a lot of just wake up, work,
go to bed, wake up, go to work again days lately.
Uncharted Wolf says Mike, thank you for tongue the truth
about how uncomfortable the steam deck is. Also, I can't
wait for y'all to see your mind's eye review predictions.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Oh oh god, what the hell did we guess.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
On mine's eye?

Speaker 2 (35:52):
I can't wait. I couldn't have been I could not
have been positive.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
But maybe I feel like I'm must be wrong because
I'm like, I have this gut feeling like I'm sure
I undercut Mike, and that's completely just like having the
information now and working backward.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
I'm worried. I'm really worried.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
I remember you too being really positive about it, like
a little bit more positive that no super positive, but
a little bit more positive that the reality that happened.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
Now.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Well, yeah, it's like in the thirties.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
I think you've given more.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
So yeah, I definitely got, didn't. We almost never assume
a game that.

Speaker 5 (36:31):
Has probably seventies, and that was probably incredibly generous.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
I really hope I'm at least in the seventies. If
I'm in the eighties, I will be mad at myself.

Speaker 5 (36:40):
Jack Lop, thank you for the five gifted subs here.
I really appreciate that. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Next up is from Zassi. Zassi says it was supposed
to be up on March sixth. They got the date
format backwards. Lousy smart weather ruin and everything. Uh, it's
hot in a lot of places right now, and that's

(37:00):
so that's a problem. That's a problem because I think
I might go to Disney World next weekend, so it's
gonna bell.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Yeah, hopefully the heat wave passes by then, but I
bet it's been. There's been a heat wave located in
Orlando specifically for the last month, and now it's everywhere,
so I'm sure it's even worse there.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Now.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
Fucking go a dubious food. Since Mike, I've been watching
you suffer for too long. I turned forty December and
I have never once eaten. Oh but nah, you described
to discuss for fruit earlier and perfect detail.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
You are not alone. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Has three thumbs ups this comment. So I got a
cohorn here. It's just me, man, Fruit's so good.

Speaker 5 (37:43):
Look before we were hut there gatherers. We were just gatherers.
And what do you think happened there? There's some people
were just over it and they weren't able to get
enough nuts.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Wait, okay, so.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
You're saying what we were gathering up fruit and you
got sick of it on an evolutionary level, yes, a
cultural level, okay, oh sure, okay, but but then they
passed that culture down to you and maybe it skipped
a future or unless you're saying you knew a great
grand No, no, no.

Speaker 5 (38:14):
What I'm saying is the only reason we ever hunted
in the first place. And to be clear, I know
this isn't the case, but the bad joke is that
we only ever hunted because enough people we didn't like fruit,
like me.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
So we have you to thank for hamburgers.

Speaker 5 (38:30):
No, I wasn't there at the time, but you know
your people, my people, we Demon says, y'all gonna y'all
still gonna use the blike club theme I made if
I remember it, I gotta be honest.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Yeah, we Demon, I remember it. I think I don't
remember if I like have it anywhere.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
Exactly. Yeah, here's the reality.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
We do get a lot of stuff along these lines,
and we're not always like sure if people are like
just giving it to us to use, and we always
feel kind of weird about that, and we like to
try to pay people.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
So it's always just a little bit weird in those situations.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
So make sure you like reach out to us and
really like tell us what's going on and getting a conversation.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
And also we can be hard to reach sometimes. I
know that.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
Like I've definitely left people on Red for a long time.
I'm bad at that sort of thing. So just yeah,
just stick to it, let me know, and we'll see
if we can make something happen.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
Tyder Dye says, how much money can I give to
have Jeff go visit Mike and sit on his lap
when Mike faces Genie Chiro and secor Row.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
I mean, I mean, you gave twenty dollars. That seems
pretty good. So that's supposed to be a hard boss fight.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
You Etro's up there, He's definitely one of the harder
boss fights. And that's that's the one I beat with
Addie kind of. I was like cradling her and holding
the controller and it's not like that's like some crazy thing,
but it was. It's a fun thing to say I
beat Ginny Tro with the baby in my lap. And
I have the video although you can't see it. So
there's like two comments when I was like, it's funny
because you just have to take his word for it,
and I'm like, yeah, I guess you're right, but yeah

(39:59):
I did that.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
It's fun and so yeah, I will sit on Mike
slap while he does that.

Speaker 5 (40:03):
No, I already so I already fucking each true today
just before the stream. It took me two attempts.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Yeah, I actually don't think it took me that long.
It was just kind of a fun day. But that's
that's impressive. Two attempts.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
I think it was probably like five or six from
you know, you're.

Speaker 5 (40:15):
Gonna aways be well, you didn't have a baby in
your lap, now, aren't you.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
Well you didn't somebody give me a baby?

Speaker 5 (40:26):
You can the next one here is from the drum
Kid ninety two says, you two have been absolutely killing it.
Grateful to have you in this space and other spaces.
You're hoping to keep my love of video games alive.
Thank you, drum Kids. It's a very nice thing to
say about it.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
Yeah, hell yeah, thanks for hanging out. You make a
better take.

Speaker 5 (40:40):
Do you know any babies? B Travin says, any interest
in Arc Raiders, what with Marathon being a letdown, seems
like it might end up as the console extraction shooter.
I mean, it certainly seems to have more buzz right now,
but like one of my takeaways from just playing the
Marathon Alpha is that I think I don't like extraction
shooters as an almost.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
Arc craadors an extraction shooter.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
Yep, yeah, by the numbers, like there is like the
most construction shooter of them all, I think.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
Okay, cool, I din't.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
I'll tell you the only reason I've been interested in
our creators is I think the art design is pretty cool.
They got like nineteen seventy sci fi novel cover Energy,
and I like that, So I'm paying attention on that front.
But I don't know who we'll see when I actually played.
If I care about it, I.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
Play a lot of it to beta and I fucking
love it all. My extruction shooter at Homies loves it.
Out of art gradors do it pretty good.

Speaker 5 (41:38):
Nintendrexcess. Capcom's previous showcases have always been kind of rough
to watch, but the games are almost always great. Why
is this because they know that there aren't going to
be that many people watching these compared to a PlayStation
State of Play or you know, game awards, So they're
going to save the big announcements for that.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
Antender directs and I just think their goal is a
lot of these things are already announced, so let's just
this is going to be more informational. They are drier
because they what they're really doing is we'll get the
super fans to watch and they will spread the word
through word of mouth, and then also the press will
watch and they'll write stories about it. Now they have
ways of talking the press, you know, you know that

(42:18):
don't require something like this, So it's like it's kind
of a two thing there where I wouldn't get the
audience to talk about it, we can get the press
to talk about it and go from there, all.

Speaker 5 (42:27):
Right, Next up here is from Corona rig Hete Dogs.
I feel like once Haitis two, which is a timed
exclusive and others like Dame x Machina two come out,
we can see the data better in the first year.

Speaker 4 (42:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (42:41):
Yeah, those are much more interesting, uh their parts? Who
makes Damon x Machin a part of We almost thought
that was Nintendo, but yeah, obviously it is.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
It didn't didn't.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
I thought Nintendo like published it in like certain territories
when it came out, But maybe I'm wrong.

Speaker 5 (42:54):
Damon ex Mockina is it exceed? It's marvelous for studio
it is al Marble, Yeah okay, but like it's no
it was. It was Nintendo for Switch, so that one,
but perhaps a second party game if you may, Jeff
for sure, But yeah, I think so. I understand your
point here, especially with Haities two so incredibly well.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
I think that is going.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
To go insane on the Switch too, especially because I
think Nintendo will sort of adopt it the way it
has with Haites one.

Speaker 5 (43:24):
M Next up is from Screaming Madden. I hope to
get a switch to by July because man, I'm pumped
for DK Bonanza, But I have to ask what are
you gonna make in DK artists banandium God. I am
excited to see people put a penis on Donkey Kong's forehead,
but I also just want to see like really intricate

(43:44):
linky Kong art.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
Sure you can just make lanky Kong's limbs all penises, right, yeah?

Speaker 5 (43:51):
Yeah, he has no style, he has no grace. This
Kong has a penis?

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Fuck yeah?

Speaker 5 (44:02):
Is that for a greater gift the culture that the
dk rap no and not like. Look when they started
using the dk rap in Bonanza, I was that really
got me.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
I'm like, oh, no, they.

Speaker 1 (44:15):
Know, and it's like they're willing to like because I
always was operating under the assumption Nintendo kind of put
Rares Donkey Kong kind of over there and kept it
at arm's length.

Speaker 2 (44:24):
But they are like keeping length.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
Yes, they are keeping some pieces of the buffalo here,
and they're keeping the most important ones with like the
dk RAP.

Speaker 5 (44:33):
I did like the country music. I did like how
much more Donkey Kong country stuff was clearly evident, and
Bonanza and the new ramby Diddy Dixie all that music.
You know, I can't remember a Sticker Bush Symphony was
played during that, but if I hear that, I'm gonna
go crazy. I'm sure a lot is gonna happen at
some point.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
If Funky Kong isn't in the game, I will become
a terrorist. There's a I don't I don't even know
if I'm joking. Look at me. I'm dead serious. I'm
dead serious. Look at me.

Speaker 1 (45:09):
Motherfucker's in this goddamn video game. I'll do some bad stuff.

Speaker 6 (45:17):
Okay, I just love that goddamn monkey.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
What is it? It wasn't mean that this?

Speaker 5 (45:38):
Oh my god, yes, save save that for us about
Giant Box exactly.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
Let's separate these two things.

Speaker 4 (45:44):
A little bit.

Speaker 5 (45:45):
My god, I'll tell you what. There's that whole surfing
themed area. They better fuck it up.

Speaker 1 (45:51):
Funky cogh was that a super chet?

Speaker 2 (45:55):
Okay? Next up? Hell grug? What so so?

Speaker 5 (46:00):
How are you feeling about the second half of twenty
twenty five?

Speaker 2 (46:02):
For games?

Speaker 5 (46:03):
The first half of twenty twenty five was stacked, and
my opinion, Turbo Shan is still old penis the.

Speaker 2 (46:10):
Fucking congratulations up becoming old Turbo Sewn. You made it.
I need to go back in this that episode. Uh yeah,
first off was grabbing me.

Speaker 5 (46:19):
Second half we're gonna have but donkey Kong deaf stranding
Metal Gear Delta.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
October got packed during SGF, right, there was a ton
of like.

Speaker 5 (46:28):
October, there's a ton of October stuff all of a
sudden that should shano be. I can't wait for that.

Speaker 1 (46:35):
I'll tell you what we'll do another like, hey, what's
happening the rest of the year? Next week on decides
we'll kind of like look at the release dates now
that SGEF has happened and kind of see how we're
feeling about the rest of it.

Speaker 5 (46:45):
Nay, soundhill F is like yeah, right around then, So
there's a bunch of good stuff still coming. I mean,
as you know, we've had a lot of good years lately.
It feels like, I know, twenty twenty three especially, I
think was wild, right, but last year was also very good.
This year has been very good as well. So yeah,

(47:07):
you know, there's a lot of things wrong with the
industry written now, we still keep getting good video games,
we really do.

Speaker 1 (47:11):
Oh yeah, yeah, there's tons of problems. But like one
of the problems is not not enough.

Speaker 5 (47:16):
Good video games, right obviously, tactics that you guide in
four Oh my gosh, yeah, tons of stuff all right
next up here is from Mikey O'Leary, man who comes
from a culture of tomato sauce, says he hates fruit
because of his culture. God, you know, okay the whole Like,
tomato is a fruit, Tomatoes a fruit thing. But like,
let's let's say it is. Let's say that a biologically

(47:37):
is a fruit. True, whatever, it's not what I'm really talking. Also,
you know, I'm not eating raw tomatoes. That would also
be disgusting for me. Like you cook it down in
a sauce, I would.

Speaker 2 (47:49):
Sow the water evaporates. Yeah, yeah, And I trust me,
I do a pretty thick sauce.

Speaker 5 (47:54):
I do a thick, non chunky sauce when I do
my tomatoes. Uh, for sure. You know you got to
put a lot of ours.

Speaker 2 (48:01):
But you know, like the.

Speaker 5 (48:02):
Tomatoes aren't I know, they have a sweetness, but they're
not sweet in the way that fruit is. They don't
have that kind of bass fruit flavor. There's talking about
them too. Yeah, yeah, sodium, it's just it tastes something
like an apple, That's what it is. It's not like
it's not very apple adjacent.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
It just isn't. I agree. Yeah, Like I like both
and I I agree.

Speaker 5 (48:24):
On good nine nine nine says, did you see switch
to firmware update fixed games? I wonder what games it fixed?
I have no idea.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
I didn't know the firm I saw. I saw a
bunch of updates for specific games. I didn't know a
firmware firmware.

Speaker 4 (48:39):
I saw this. I think it's in part the backwards
compatibility layer, because Limited rom was saying that some of
their carbon Engine stuff is now working on swish to.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
When right, or I did see that.

Speaker 1 (48:50):
Hey, can you please take down Gex's trilogy because it's
breaking on switch to.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
Okay, I hope that fixed it.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
By the way, I played gexx trilogy with Audie today
on Gia Bomb Love Hanging out with Audi.

Speaker 2 (49:01):
He wants to do a three d oh stream Mike
because he loves three d oh.

Speaker 1 (49:03):
So so I told him, I told Hi'm going to
make that happen in the next couple of weeks.

Speaker 4 (49:07):
Hell yeah, I got d get them, get John in
there too, do the MK m K two and three
d O that he was talking about.

Speaker 2 (49:15):
Okay, yeah, that's a great idea. We'll do it. Uh.

Speaker 5 (49:19):
Vogue with God says shout out to the hard fought
competitors on Real Housewives of sick Meredith src right, yeah,
photos brought this up during a pompcast. Think a real
big Real Housewives fan of Hogue with gods.

Speaker 1 (49:32):
I mean, listen, if you got your champion, you got
your champion. It sounds like Meredith Marx is Foroca God.

Speaker 5 (49:37):
But that's the jugs that I thought it was like
a contest and it's not.

Speaker 1 (49:41):
Yeah, that's right, Yeah, she's she's just although, oh that's
the joke here, right, Why call her out then the
last time?

Speaker 2 (49:48):
If she wasn't like some when.

Speaker 5 (49:50):
You don't have to have answers to everything, Jeff.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
You're right, maybe I'm happier in my ignorance.

Speaker 5 (49:55):
Chris pretzys Uh what what a super chat?

Speaker 1 (49:59):
More?

Speaker 5 (50:00):
But the bank was closed for some reason. It couldn't
deposit by Mario. Shut up, Chris Pratt. It's like Marcus
love to work. Why a there's so many new holidays.
I'm just bringing up today. It's shocking that for some
reason this is the holiday. We're too many holidays, Jeff,

(50:20):
Just too many dang holidays.

Speaker 2 (50:21):
Too many days off?

Speaker 5 (50:25):
Holy shit? Thank you, Chris Pratt.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
All right, that's it.

Speaker 5 (50:30):
For troop sts from now everybody, if you want to
send them more, we will read them before the end
of the show. Thank you so much, appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (50:36):
Thank you Mike for reading those. Let's take another break.

Speaker 1 (50:39):
We'll come back and we're going to do our Mount
Rushmore of rude dudes with attitudes and that's for video
game characters. Right after this, all right, we're back. Mike
Manadi and Jeff grew up here on Game mess decides
let's do our Mount Rushmore.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
It is going to be for fod video game characters
with attitudes. So, I mean, I.

Speaker 1 (51:03):
Guess you know what we can probably explain if we
start suggesting some I think most people understand what we mean.

Speaker 2 (51:07):
This was a huge thing in.

Speaker 1 (51:09):
The nineties, though, so there might be some people who
are a little bit younger this might not full like,
they might not fully get what we're going for. So
Mike Manatti, I do you have anything else to add
there or do you want to just jump in and
recommend something I.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
Think I get.

Speaker 5 (51:20):
I think I get the mood board here. But it's
not like just to be it's such as rude, like
there's got to be a cool factor to it.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
I suppose, right right, the rude tude is like saying
like they are cool or too cool for.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
A lot of stuff, like too cool for school kind
of characters.

Speaker 5 (51:35):
Like like I said, always say say Warrio. Warrio is
not really what I'm thinking of here.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
Yeah, I was gonna, I was gonna bring up Warreo
and be like, I'm not sure if he really qualifies
because he's just kind of a.

Speaker 5 (51:45):
Stinker and kind of a stinker.

Speaker 1 (51:48):
Yeah, and like, look, there could be some stinkers on
this list, but like booger Man, I also don't think
it's gonna like he wouldn't qualify because he's not popular enough.
It doesn't really he's not emblematic. But if you was,
I still think he's not exactly what.

Speaker 2 (52:02):
We're talking about here.

Speaker 5 (52:03):
Now we're talking about, for example, Sonic the Hedgehog, right,
like that was the whole thing there was. Look how
cool Sonic the Hedgehog is. And Memorial is actually kind
of lame when you think about it, Right, this is
the stupid kids stuff. But Sonic, if you don't move
for a bit, he taps his foot.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
And looks at it. It's fun.

Speaker 5 (52:21):
I still think to this day, so much of Sonic's
attitude is told at us more than it's conveyed a lot.

Speaker 2 (52:27):
Uh, it's definitely a little.

Speaker 5 (52:29):
Bit more of it, like the movies and things like that.

Speaker 1 (52:32):
Especially Craves or the commercials, right, Like the commercials might
have made it like more in your face than even
the games were.

Speaker 2 (52:37):
He was just kind of a cute guy that ran fast,
right exactly.

Speaker 5 (52:40):
If like his ido anfimation was him smiling at you instead,
then pretty much ninety nine percent of his attitude is gone.
But it was kind of part of marketing, pitching. It's
what we associate him with. And there was a coolness
factor to Sonic and he does have that, you know.
Yeahtude did come through and all the multimedia and eventually
back into the games. So I think he's definitely a

(53:02):
big one here.

Speaker 1 (53:04):
All right, Well, I do have him on the brain
because I was playing that game earlier. But I do
think he might he at least qualifies in terms of
fitting the bill of what we're talking about here. Let's
see if he actually makes it high enough on the list.
And that's GEX from GEX and yeah.

Speaker 5 (53:22):
No, Goku's rule everybody. I've seen someone suggested that Bart Simpson.
Bart Simpson is a Goku. He got originating games.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
Yep, Yeah, that's that's the rule. That's what he means
when he says no, Gokus has originating games.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
All right.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
Yeah, Gets is just like NonStop sort of sarcastic remarks.
And I think that's a big part of I think
what we mean by this attitude, and and like you know,
it's irreverent. And there's like aspects of the game, the
games themselves that are sort of like like Gets has
a hot human girlfriend and gets three. Right, It's like

(53:55):
that's another thing that happens with these characters all the time.

Speaker 5 (53:59):
Yeah, He's like, no, were scared, like you, they were
taking the situation seriously. It's over the peril clearly happening
around him. Yeah, so GEX for sure, GEX, I mean
GEX is definitely in that lineage of sonic kind of ripoffs, right,
like absolutely, And we had a ton of those the
awesome possums of the world what have you?

Speaker 2 (54:19):
Right up enough for people to read.

Speaker 5 (54:24):
There you go, get big ah, you're ready for one
for me? Yeah, please go ahead, Duke nukem.

Speaker 1 (54:30):
Oh okay, Yeah, that's interesting because I was almost thinking
entirely anthropomorphic characters.

Speaker 2 (54:36):
But you're not wrong.

Speaker 3 (54:37):
Oh Duke Nukem.

Speaker 5 (54:41):
She was just you got his name?

Speaker 3 (54:43):
Yeah, yeah, what do you.

Speaker 1 (54:47):
Mean, like, like, yeah, that's what you're getting, Yes, all right,
I mean it's just the word nuke.

Speaker 5 (54:54):
I mean there's also a Duke. There's also a Duke
Dukem in Cat and Planet Unrelated. He was a villain,
remember him really? Yeah, he was just a benchman and
I think he had a lot of toxic waste at
his disposal or something like that.

Speaker 2 (55:10):
Yeah, but very similar to all the one liners. He
liked babes, a lot.

Speaker 5 (55:14):
Of he had like a cool guy boys, and he
shot people in aliens and yeah, yeah, like that was
kind of the whole appeal there. Like Duke DUKEOM three
D was kind of the next big first person shooter
hit after like Doom and Doom two, and it was
sort of in that lineage, and there were some upgrades
to the systems, but part of it was that edgy
factor of Duke himself with the sunglasses and everything, and

(55:37):
of course you know the babes, the strippers and all
that stuff.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
So yeah, tons of attitude with Duke Nukem.

Speaker 1 (55:45):
I'm I'm gonna go with crash Bandicoot who wears jean shorts,
So that's kind of all you really need to know.
Anyone who wears jean shorts is a rude dude who's
too cool for school. Also, he yelled Atintendo a lot
from outside their buildings and kind of put them in
their place.

Speaker 5 (56:03):
All the attitude for me is in those commercials because
in the game he's just a silly goober. Really it
doesn't even talk.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
Yeah, yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (56:10):
But I mean the design was clearly supposed to be like, hey,
this is like your cool older brother, Like he's got
sneakers and jean shorts and he's got kind of like
this relaxed posture posture, which again like he's too cool
for the peril and stuff like that. Yeah, crash bandicoot,
I definitely I think definitely a rates here.

Speaker 5 (56:28):
Uh this list now featuring Dante from Devil May Cry.
Dante's definitely cool guy with attitude. He's kind of like,
you know, he's too cool for lost situations. He drops
that guard sometimes for sure, but he has intense cool
guy swagger. That's sort of the whole thing with that character.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:52):
Yeah, I guess there are a lot of characters along
those lines as well, and Dante's probably the sort of
if it's not Dante, it's it's the other one. Nero Hero, Yeah,
but he's like as he's kind of more quiet emails jerkish,
right right.

Speaker 5 (57:07):
Nero's a yeah, not Nero. I mean that's a fucking yeah.
It was a bit fier Virgil. Virgil's the brother who
is a jerk. Nero is a bit pluckier, okay, either
a smidge of a poochy.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
He's not a fool blown poochy.

Speaker 5 (57:22):
Of course we like neuro, but he's just a smidge
of poochiness there. Even better the fucking dog from Scooby Do.
There's a little bit of scrappy jew Okay, I think
a scrappy We could.

Speaker 2 (57:36):
Do a scrappy do Mount Rushmot at some point. Go ahead, Christian,
what was that?

Speaker 3 (57:39):
No, that was an insult for me. At least you
call somebody a scrappy doo, that's just fighting worse.

Speaker 5 (57:44):
You know what it's like, scrappy do. I never understood
the problem. I thought he was funny, puppy power scrappy do.

Speaker 4 (57:50):
That's because you are scrappy do.

Speaker 2 (57:54):
I feel like we had discoverses. I feel like I'm
not saying scrappy.

Speaker 5 (58:00):
I'm like, man, that's sounds familiar. Man, there for play
its call scrappy. Do again say the thing about being
a terrorist again?

Speaker 2 (58:12):
Play?

Speaker 1 (58:13):
I never said any such thing. How dare you words
of my mouth?

Speaker 5 (58:17):
All right?

Speaker 1 (58:18):
How do you feel about a character that didn't necessarily
start out as a cool dude with tud but by
like the second game onward.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
Became one like Jack from Jack and Dexter.

Speaker 5 (58:28):
Oh, it was such a pivot.

Speaker 2 (58:31):
It was a pivot. They like turned it on, like
we have to unleash this. They they, uh, what's.

Speaker 1 (58:36):
I can never remember the name of the game, the
one where the lady was normal in the first game
in sex Pandemonium?

Speaker 2 (58:40):
Is that the pandemonium? Yeah? Or remember Prince of Persia? Right,
the second one? This was a thing.

Speaker 5 (58:49):
It was like god, oh ship all the kids who
we thought these kids were going to be ten forever
and Altim are fifteen now.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
And they think that they think that old game is gay.

Speaker 5 (58:58):
It's like yeah, like, oh they're called it Selda with
a See they're too edgy. They've got to put more
girls in metal bikinis now, the Godsmack era exactly.

Speaker 2 (59:12):
Connor would thank you listen.

Speaker 1 (59:14):
I know think Prince of Persia Parenthesis Warrior within would
make this list.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
I think Jack has a chance to be considered.

Speaker 5 (59:22):
I think Jack can be considered for sure. I mean
I didn't like the pivot personally, I think, oh sure, Yeah,
some people are split on like Jack or Jack Wan
or Jack too. I'm a Jack one kind of guy.

Speaker 2 (59:36):
I might just do too because it's kind of what
did I do?

Speaker 1 (59:39):
There's oh cool, I destroyed everything there.

Speaker 3 (59:42):
It's crazy to me that nobody then Cage the ultimate
dude with two.

Speaker 4 (59:51):
Hmmm.

Speaker 5 (59:51):
He's yeah, he's sort of duke nukeam adjacent. He's so irreverent.

Speaker 1 (59:59):
I'm sorry, I broke my thing a little bit. So
you guys maybe suggest another one. Why I fix this.

Speaker 5 (01:00:02):
We're debate. We're debating if Johnny Cage should maybe be
in there.

Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
I don't know why.

Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
It's like, I know you're writing it. There's something about
it that I'm like, hmm, I don't know about John.

Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
He's too human to you for you he said too real?
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
I guess the character too humans is not a cool dude.

Speaker 5 (01:00:18):
Like John Cage is always kind of presented as being
a pathetic loser in some way. Maybe he's part of
it right later on. I guess that's a little bit
later on, I suppose, but I don't even from the beginning.
He's like, let's look at this douche bag. It's kind
of I got We're like Duke dukem It's like, isn't
this guy cool?

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
We all like this guy? Yeah, I think that that
sounds right to me.

Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
Okay, well then I don't know why this reminds me
of him, But Shadow the Hedgehog is Shadow the Hedgehog
at like too too try hard.

Speaker 5 (01:00:49):
To try hard and Edgewardy, Yes, right, he's got a
bad attitude, but it's not like a cool dude.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
It's a little right.

Speaker 1 (01:00:58):
He's got a gun, which I think maybe even goes
to against this and not that you know obviously do
dude nukemb has a gun, but he's in first person
shooters or whatever. It's like, now you're just trying too hard.
You're like, I'm the cool one with a gun.

Speaker 5 (01:01:09):
And like I've seen some people say Drake Nathan Drake,
and I'm like, he's yeah, I guess he's a cool dude.
He's got two but he's such a again, he's such
like a goober, right.

Speaker 1 (01:01:19):
Yeah, right, yeah, I don't. I mean, is Indiana Jones
a cool dude with tude? No?

Speaker 5 (01:01:25):
He o, he definitely isn't, right, dude, he doesn't really
have tude.

Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
Yeah, sort of Like, here's one that people are saying
as a chat and it's almost just purely off design,
basically Jeff because he kind of looks like Rascal in
that BK Kids Club sense a Kid Chameleon. Oh sure, yeah,
I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
That You're right. They just designed him that way, which
is a big part of this for sure. But I don't.
I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
Kid Chameleon is not even that great of a game,
so people don't really think about him that Its like
three his Kia.

Speaker 5 (01:02:02):
It's also really longest, like ninety nine levels or something.
Nobody actually wants to beat Kid Chameleon. Hm hmmm uh
what about Earthworm Gem. I'm not feeling I don't ye,
I don't like personally he's a loser's if he's depicted
as a loser in the games a bit. Yeah, funny,
that's a good point. Yeah, yeah, Like I don't think
to had that much attitude. Honestly, they're cool they're.

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
Kind Yeah, they're still right. They were just hip. They're
hip and chill. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
Rash from the Battle Toads, Yeah, they're kind of cool.

Speaker 5 (01:02:36):
That is that the one of the glasses.

Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
I think that's regular instinct. Yeah, the one one with
the glasses.

Speaker 5 (01:02:42):
Yes, let's consider Rash. Rash is a cool dew with
attitude for sure. Okay, sunglasses is a big part of
it too.

Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
Yeah, he's not cool.

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
He's like he's trying to have like comments like he's cool.
He's definitely in the gets vein.

Speaker 5 (01:02:58):
He's It is funny because like that, nothing helps GEX
more than the existence of bubbs.

Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
Like the comparison point, like comparison to the thief a
joy not in the case of Gex, Compare him to
Bubbsy all day long, and that's gonna just look great
for GEX.

Speaker 5 (01:03:13):
Yeah maybe maybe Sean Op, he cares what you think.
How about Blue from Original Pokemon, your first rival, That
guy was he had a big attitude problem. He talked
a lot of smack.

Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
I think that's a I think that's a good call.
He's like maybe a little on the verge of being
like little stinker territory. Yeah, sure, but I like the poll. Yeah,
I approve.

Speaker 1 (01:03:40):
I I mean, I'm like at a point where I'm
like tie the Tasmanian Tiger.

Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
I don't know. I don't know if I have anymore.

Speaker 5 (01:03:46):
What about what about Cloud? About strife Fantasy seven? No?

Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
He asked, motherfucker he went to war? He's no PTSD No.

Speaker 4 (01:03:56):
That's also a good poll because if you play f
F seven, you know Cloud it's trying too hard to
be cool, which is often what these cool dudes do.

Speaker 5 (01:04:04):
That's true, He's yeah, that's true, and like Squalls to
Squalls two Emo like to be it's so cool for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
Uh, people want us to consider Serious Sam. Phantom Zero
just sent in a super chat to say as much.

Speaker 2 (01:04:19):
What is I've played that game.

Speaker 5 (01:04:21):
I know they're called Sirius Sam, and I assume they
start a guy named Sirius Sam, and I think I
seen him on the box, but I really don't know
much about him aside from that.

Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
Yeah, I mean, I always assumed it was like Diet
Dupe Nukeam in terms of character design. Like I played
some of the Serious Sam games, but I never got
much of the character, So I don't know. Johnny gadd
is a good one, but he's kind of almost is
he almost parody? I guess a lot of these ones
like border into parody. Johnny Get's a good one. I

(01:04:50):
just don't know if he's gonna make the list. That's fine,
let's put him on though. Looks it looks better that way.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
Yeah, ooh, I like that. I like that.

Speaker 5 (01:04:59):
Zach Okay Falco Lombardi from Star Fox. That's a good
that's that's a good one, all right, Lombardi. He's got
a lot of he's critical, he's got a lot of
attitude though, don't you know evenly saved his life?

Speaker 2 (01:05:11):
A good guess it should be thankful.

Speaker 5 (01:05:12):
That's maybe the most attitude dripping line of video game history.
I guess it's grateful. You just saved that fucking bird's life. Yeah,
I guess you should be maybe actually try to be.
And he but he's too cool to actually be thankful.
That's the best you're gonna get out of a cool
dude with two like that. I get it. Yeah, he's Italian,

(01:05:33):
so good, that's.

Speaker 4 (01:05:37):
Jesus Christ.

Speaker 5 (01:05:38):
I've seen a few like like Master Chief, Age of
forty seven. They're kind of silent, mysterious. I don't know
if they're get they're the strong silent type. Yeah, that's
kind of the exact opposite. Strong silent type is not
cool dude with two this.

Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
Entire segment, I've been thinking about like fighting games, like
characters that are too cool. But every every character is that,
Like in Street Fighter you can pick like Alex, like
I don't know, see Viper. Every every character is that.
It's a cool dude with two, So it's kind of impossible.

Speaker 5 (01:06:10):
Joe, that's not terrible. It's a it's a bit of
a goober again, right, He's like.

Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
Yeah, but I don't think goober undoes because like, that's right,
that that's what they're They're.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
Almost compensating for their gooberi ish ness.

Speaker 5 (01:06:22):
Beautiful Mike the Ollyrian Chad said tribal tattoo Mario from
the Game Boy Advanced sp it's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
Also, look somebody also, look that's true. He's he's a
cool dude. He's actually trying to be cool. I don't
know if he's very cool. He has revolver, he shoots
with it. What's cooler than that?

Speaker 5 (01:06:42):
That's like, yeah, it sounds like somebody's grandpa. Actually it's
a cool fucking grandpa.

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
I think Grandpa's can be cool.

Speaker 5 (01:06:52):
I don't know about revolver Ostratos against brooding, strong, silent type,
not feeling Kratos Zero from Megan Man, he's so silent.
I don't know he's I don't think Zero has that
much attitude. He's got a little attitude, but he's kind
of just like some of these people are just like
some of these people are cops, right, some of the.

Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
Some of them are cops, like Zero, Zero is a cop.

Speaker 5 (01:07:15):
I like Zero, but he's kind of a cop Kennedy
literally literally a cop, literally a cops.

Speaker 2 (01:07:21):
So it's like, it just can't be that cool. Elite
elite beat agents are strong, silent, good cops.

Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
They're the only good cops. They're fun cops, but in
the positive fun cop way.

Speaker 5 (01:07:32):
What about those two what about those two too bad
dudes or whatever that game was they had to save the.

Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
Rad dudes or whatever.

Speaker 5 (01:07:39):
Yeah, came from Cuneo.

Speaker 4 (01:07:49):
Coon. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:07:50):
Yeah, definitely has an attitude and he's like he fights people.

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
I think that helps is a cool dude. He's got
a ton of attitude.

Speaker 1 (01:07:58):
Oh the missed John Vanquish, nobody like smokes?

Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
Does he smoke?

Speaker 4 (01:08:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
Is that cool? What are you, Jam. I mean it's like,
I don't know if it's cool. I don't know if
any of.

Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
These guys are fucking actually cool. Mike, I think that
they're all trying to be cool. Dude, But dude, Jesus.

Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
Christ, you could give me all the money in the world,
I wouldn't have come up with Sam. Gideon is the
main character.

Speaker 3 (01:08:31):
I made in your three mic that one time you
were playing it. I can't remember the joke that vehicle.

Speaker 1 (01:08:37):
Yeah, phantasm zero is back and says, did I miss Conquer?

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
And I think we have to have the conquer conversation.

Speaker 5 (01:08:43):
Oh he's he's a loser, right, I mean, yes, yes
he is.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
He's I don't think he's cool. He's a parody, Yes he's.
I think he's too much of it. He's a vehicle
for comedy and it and that like delivery of that
comedy is too earnest, Like it's trying to be a
comedic game. It's not trying to be a snarky game
where it's like, oh, you're having fun playing the game,
and we happen to have a character that's just too
cool for what's fucking happening. That's not Conquer at all Actually, so,

(01:09:16):
I don't think Conquer quite fits for this.

Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
You can say you're you're not adding cooney o kun.
I thought that was a pretty good one. I'll add
you better please Jesus. All right, I think maybe we
just start whittling this down.

Speaker 1 (01:09:29):
Jeff, I agree. People keep throwing a mountain chat. We
did discuss Shadow of the Hedgehog, for example, but keep
throwing a mountain chat. There's still time to add. Let's
go ahead and lock our voice Sonic.

Speaker 5 (01:09:40):
Yeah, he's kind of the Georgia Washington Critichum characters were
never cool before that. It's true.

Speaker 1 (01:09:45):
There was no cool video game characters before that, for sure.
Lots of cops before that, but no cool dude's the cops?
Uh Okay, where do you want to go from here?
I think it'd be kind of funny had cloud strife
on there, but I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:10:01):
Yeah, it's I mean, dude, Nucomb is very a big one.

Speaker 4 (01:10:05):
Two.

Speaker 5 (01:10:06):
It's a little sense. It's like the same era Sonic,
but a very different kind of branch of that.

Speaker 4 (01:10:10):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
Yeah, definitely, yes, this is the human variant for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
I I do think Crash well well, definitely, like I
think Level in his time with Sonic. Uh is too
much or too similar to Sonic and didn't have the
longevity of being that cool dude in the same way
that Sonic did. I'm obviously his games are still coming out,
but it's it's very different. So I don't think we
need Sonic and Crash.

Speaker 5 (01:10:38):
We need Crash. I don't even read that much coolness
into him. That's the pizza commercials.

Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
Sure, okay, tell you what Falco Lombardi I I kind
of think he should be up there.

Speaker 5 (01:10:53):
I think we should keep him considered for sure. I
like Falco. I like Falco, and I like Dante still
a lot, specifically cloud Strife also, I think is a
good chance.

Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
All right, uh I think of this list, Yeah, I'm
good with those and then maybe but I didn't do
I did the Beautiful Joe instead.

Speaker 3 (01:11:16):
Yeah, that is right. Why are you talking about Funky Kong?
What is in this list?

Speaker 5 (01:11:22):
It's Funky Kong, have too that. I thought it was
a nice guy.

Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
He did join the military, and that's fatigues in DK
sixty four, and that's it's nice.

Speaker 5 (01:11:31):
He got into guns.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Yeah, yeah, that's that's not that's not gonna work. Yeah,
it's important and I love.

Speaker 5 (01:11:39):
Them, Saint Chester, Cheetah and Spawned Chat. I'm sorry those are.

Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
Go kus yep no gokus.

Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
They originated on on food products for humans.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
I uh bolded Rash from Battle Toads.

Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
His glasses do a lot for me, all right, Okay,
so that means right, yeah, we have Mount Rushmore cool dudes.
The ones we have bolded to consider sonic, the Hedgehog,
Duke Nukem, Dante not Inferno related, Rash from Battle Toads,
Cloud Strife, and Falco Lombardy, which.

Speaker 5 (01:12:12):
Is a bit of a just Duke Duke Nukem crossed
with the Teenagetant Ninja Turtle. Granted he predates well, he
predates Duke Dukem three d. I guess I don't know
when the first two d Duke Nukem was, but probably yeah,
but it was still after That's not what we're talking
about for Duke Nukem. Yeah, yeah, I don't know. Like
Rash is very emblematic of them, and yet like on
his own, I don't know if he stands up.

Speaker 1 (01:12:34):
I agree, that's that's very I think he definitely fits
into this category. He's just not Mount Rushmore worthy. Yeah,
all right, So that means we have one, two, three, four, five.
We only got a cut one.

Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
I think.

Speaker 1 (01:12:46):
Okay, so we have three humans in consideration, Duke Nukem, Dante,
and Cloud.

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
Yeah, I mean I.

Speaker 5 (01:12:54):
Think yeah, I think it's between Dante or Cloud. And
I think I would actually go with Dante. I think
Dante has a more attitude. Yes, Cloud's got Cloud's some
more complex character than that.

Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
Actually, yes, I think this is right. I would not
put Cloud above Dante.

Speaker 5 (01:13:13):
Yeah, is a decent pool chat but he's like so
comic relief right, also not really a dude, kind of
a rope yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:13:21):
Yeah, and he's like one h and it's just not
even trying to be cool. Yeah, oh yeah, it makes
him a great character. Like this is these combination of
features and characteristics are not necessary to make a cool character.
It's just these guys. If you want to make a
cool character, do something like h K forty seven.

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
That's great, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
I mean I think we might have it here, Mike Sonic,
the Hedgehog, Falcon, Lombardi, Duke Nukem, and Dante.

Speaker 5 (01:13:46):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
I like it too.

Speaker 5 (01:13:49):
Whatever gets but you're not making it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
Next time, buddy, next time, all right, I'm going to.

Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
Can you change that to a DMC instead of not?
Oh you already did?

Speaker 4 (01:14:00):
Dante?

Speaker 5 (01:14:00):
People know who you mean?

Speaker 2 (01:14:01):
Yeah? I did, That's what I did. I just made
say Dante. That's all right? Cool, good right? Boom boom.
I'm gonna post this at.

Speaker 4 (01:14:09):
The p break. I gotta go.

Speaker 1 (01:14:12):
We're gonna go to another break. Everybody will be right
back after this. We'll clean up the super chats. I'm
curious what Mike's been playing, although I know he hasn't
had much time for that other than Secaro. Although let's
get a Secro update. We'll do that right after this.
All Right, we're back, and before we do anything else,
I'm giving the floor over to Turbo shown real quick.

Speaker 4 (01:14:34):
I have pulled up here from the Uncharted Wolf's Guessing Game.
What you guys guessed Mind's Eye would get review score wise,
and so I believe Mike went first with this pick.
He predicted Mine's Eye would get an average Open Critics
score of eighty one. Please tell me and Jeffrey Grubb

(01:14:59):
uh when with eighty Oh thank god, Mike, but.

Speaker 5 (01:15:08):
No points for anybody, No way, you give me those flints.

Speaker 4 (01:15:14):
Let me see the top Creak average is thirty three
right now on Hoping Critic.

Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
What were we thinking?

Speaker 1 (01:15:19):
So I was within fifty I.

Speaker 4 (01:15:25):
Can't talking about this. I remember talking about this like
the day after whatever presentation that was on, like Gay
Mass Mornings or whatever, and Jeff being like really optimistic.
He's like, oh, yeah, that that looked really interesting. Yeah.
I was like, what are you talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
I just didn't. I was like, man, there's a chance here,
Like what to believe?

Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
Yeah, I'm like, they're spending all that money, there's got
to be something there, and it's the Bens.

Speaker 5 (01:15:50):
It Ben probably just forgot what that game was.

Speaker 1 (01:15:55):
I think I remember being very relieved that you went first,
and I I think I said to myself because I
know I did it for one of the games during
that that that the competition for that week, no matter
what he says, I'm gonna go under. So I think
I got lucky in that way because I'm just like,
no matter what, I'm gonna do that, and here we are.

Speaker 4 (01:16:13):
So, you know, the funny thing is, I don't know
for sure, and the fact that Mike said eighty one
makes me think I don't know, but it makes me
think that you said eighty and then he went over
with eighty one.

Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
But okay, because.

Speaker 4 (01:16:24):
Why else will we pick eighty one?

Speaker 5 (01:16:25):
I want to pick eighty one. No one picks eighty one,
which is even funnier, But what the hell, it's gross
and I'm embarrassed.

Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
I'm embarrassed. I wish I would have had seventy nine.
Just being in the seventies we make me feel.

Speaker 5 (01:16:38):
So feel So I was like, I was so hopeful
that I at least predicted a seventy five or something. Right,
How was I thinking?

Speaker 1 (01:16:44):
Here, we are all right, thanks for that, Sean win.
How far are wea you is at the end of
this month?

Speaker 4 (01:16:50):
I think? So I would have to check what will
do it quarterly?

Speaker 5 (01:16:54):
So I know, yeah I started a little bit late
this time, but yes, can't be much past July.

Speaker 1 (01:16:59):
Okay, well, I'm looking forward to it. Uh all right,
let's see here. I would think we're gonna do the
super chats to close out the show. So first, Mike,
what have you been playing?

Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (01:17:11):
It has been a lot of Secoro doing that on
the stream and having a really really good time with it.
I am liking that game a ton. It has been
super super freaking fun. Just you know, I'm getting the
Perry stuff down pretty good, and all these other mechanics.
There's that that one county you can do with the
lunching attacks where you just step on their weapons.

Speaker 1 (01:17:32):
Best moving video games, ye, best feeling move in any
video game ever made.

Speaker 5 (01:17:36):
That's what feels awesome when they do this week you
kind of jump and like jump on their head afterwards.
So yeah, it's just at the level design, like this
whole area where I was kind of outside this castle
and I was sort of like going through the rooftops.
I had to find my way inside there, and even
then it kind of just felt open. It's you know,
you know the open zone thing that Sonic in Sega

(01:17:58):
thought they invented. I do actually like that kind of
level design. Oh, I think open zones are great. I
mean basically that's what you could call, you know, like
the Mario sixty four style thing even back then, right right, Yeah,
I love that that sort of thing. So yeah, I'm
like really deep into it now. I got a loss,
that's one a lot. I just got to a point
where it's kind of like here's you did like one

(01:18:18):
big pergression thing. Here's a few other things, a few
other kind of paths you had to go down to breadcrumbs,
you need to follow, and I'm excited to go down
on all those paths.

Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
I mean it's a game that just really does maintain
it's it's level throughout as well. I mean, of course
every boss fight's amazing. For the most part, it's a
from Soft game, but you know, you get to the
end and that last boss fight truly is something else
that I remember it being very difficult when I when
I did it, but I also felt like I had
built up the skill because it's not one of those

(01:18:50):
games where you're grinding. So yeah, looking forward to continuing
to watch. So you do you dig Anie Tiro? Who
else have you kind of fought?

Speaker 5 (01:18:58):
And that's the latest thing I did, really was that.
See I fought the bull, I fought that guy and
the horse that I fought Madam Butterfly. So these are
the big bosses that I have done at this point.
I don't know much about Secro, but I know there's
some kind of big monkey at some point I think, oh.

Speaker 1 (01:19:14):
Right, yes, you're probably just a slight ways off from that,
but not too far. Boy, that's a great boss fight.
That's that's one where like a lot of people had
issues with that one. That's the one where I was
having issues with some of the other ones that people
were like blazing through. And the Monkey's the one where
I did in like three tries and I felt really
good about that. But that that was the one in
that entire game where I had that experience.

Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
I think I have to go back and Look, I'm.

Speaker 5 (01:19:35):
Not saying I wish it would make a secro too
though I wouldn't mind, but I do wish i'd make
another really action forward third person game like this.

Speaker 4 (01:19:43):
Again.

Speaker 5 (01:19:43):
Wait, I like Out and Ring a lot right for sure,
and the Dark Soul stuff too, But yeah, a lot
of one of these would definitely hit.

Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
No I I they will, They absolutely will. They'll get
around to it. I think this is going to be
in that like zone that they were like, Hey, we
are going to do our big ones and then we'll
do an Armored Corps and then we'll do our big one,
then we'll do another secar row.

Speaker 2 (01:20:03):
So I'm hopeful. How about you?

Speaker 5 (01:20:05):
What have you been up to.

Speaker 1 (01:20:07):
Yeah, it's been busy couple of days, especially with Jan out,
but been figuring that stuff out, which has been nice,
kind of piecing everything together over here and long calls
with lawyers and things like that, so.

Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
Not a ton of time.

Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
Kind of did like been checking in on Claire Obscure
on the Steam deck and it's like, poy, it kind
of looks pretty rough on there, although now it's playable
for sure, Like I actually do feel like I could
do the timing in the combat quite a bit better.
So it's like I will try to place some of
it on here, but if I'm like in the basement,
I'm just gonna stream it for my PC and that's
still the best way to do it. But that game

(01:20:42):
still is fantastic, and I'm trying to build up some
momentum so I can really get that game done before
maybe Donkey Kong is here so I can.

Speaker 4 (01:20:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
So I feel like, all right, now I have the
rest of the year in front of me. But yeah,
it's it's quite quite good.

Speaker 5 (01:20:56):
So keep thinking about it, right, finish that game a
bit ago.

Speaker 4 (01:21:00):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (01:21:00):
You know, my brother Chris always joke about the only
like j RPG turn based RPG I ever really liked
was a freaking Eternal Sonata. He loved this game. He
actually got a one thousand gamers score on it. He
went and did everything Wow and AGB two. I think
it's like one of the first RPGs all three of
us have beaten in a very long time. So all

(01:21:23):
the Mi Naughtis are on board.

Speaker 2 (01:21:25):
That's wild.

Speaker 5 (01:21:25):
Okay, Yeah, you want to do one at some point,
that'd be funny.

Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
I get your brothers on there for that one. Get
Jan on there, help them on Giant Bomb, that'd be great.

Speaker 5 (01:21:34):
I don't know if Jan's beating it yet.

Speaker 2 (01:21:37):
I think he did actually.

Speaker 5 (01:21:39):
Out to confer with him once he's back.

Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
But yeah, yeah, everyone knows it's great game, turns up
still great game, and then switch to has been taken
from me. Emmy has been playing on that thing NonStop.
But when I do get a chance, I'm playing some
more Mario Kart and trying to finish up a thousand
year door. That's the thing that's kind of so some
RPGs right now, And for as much as a not

(01:22:03):
an RPG guy that I can be, I always want
to like them. And it's nice to get in get
in the groove with a couple of these things because
the genre I've always admired from afar. I've talked about
that before, and there's a couple that really do work
for me, and these two obviously having clearly that the
relationship there is they both have active combats elements and
clear obscurities, maybe the sort of the top tier of

(01:22:24):
that stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:22:25):
Ever. So it's just there's always so much to think
about and do and handle that I just fall in
love with it. But even Paper Mario works in that
same level.

Speaker 5 (01:22:32):
I am care a lot of Jeffygees. They are very
you know, quote unquote anime, and these are two that aren't.
Is that aspect of it help you, because you know,
it's not like you dislike animecessarily.

Speaker 1 (01:22:45):
I mean maybe like it begins to feel a little
bit like, uh oh, this is just a big heap
of anime RPG stuff subconsciously, and it's my brain's not
like latching onto anything in particular.

Speaker 2 (01:22:57):
But I like, I was interested in.

Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
Lunar because I might I love the idea of like
Sega CD or uh you know whatever Saturn PlayStation FMV
sequences of anime built into a game back then.

Speaker 2 (01:23:10):
That's just a really appealing idea to me.

Speaker 1 (01:23:13):
So I don't know if it's just that necessarily, but
you're right, that is a common element the ones I
do enjoy have less of that anime, So I haven't
really reflected on that too much to know for sure.
But yeah, beyond that, still like my switch to a
lot and looking for more reasons to play it. Like
I said, pull you pull your touches to s is
a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (01:23:32):
And if we are, you playing FBC on Friday tomorrow
with us?

Speaker 5 (01:23:38):
But to ask because like I know that it's only
a three player thing, right, So yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:23:43):
Fans out tomorrow, so and I backler might be busy,
But what I'm saying is I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
I'm not too hot on FPC.

Speaker 1 (01:23:52):
Uh, Like I'm not. So if we get bored, I know,
I'm sorry. I apologize. If we get bored, Let's play
some Poulia teachers and stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (01:24:01):
Okay, that'd be fun. I do have that, so okay, fantastic.

Speaker 1 (01:24:05):
Yeah yeah all right, Yeah, So that that's where I'm
at those of the games I've been playing.

Speaker 2 (01:24:10):
Anything else from you.

Speaker 5 (01:24:11):
Mikey, it seems like a lot of people aren't that
high on FBC. Like I'm a little surprised they missed
with that.

Speaker 1 (01:24:18):
It's you know, it's like in a sixth at Christians,
it's like people like the weirdness still, I think like, oh,
it's a weird game, but I think there's a lot
of people who don't quite get it because you know,
Control sold fine, but it's not like it's sold multiplayers
boom like Blockbuster success good, where everyone's just like, oh,
clearly I want to go play a multiplayer game.

Speaker 2 (01:24:38):
In that universe.

Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
So it probably has to introduce itself to people a
little bit. So yeah, and like Marina says, I love
Control but have no interest in FBC, that's there's gonna
be a lot of people like that as well.

Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
All right, uh, you know anything else.

Speaker 5 (01:24:51):
Mike, No, I was just gonna say the rest of
super chats for you.

Speaker 2 (01:24:53):
Ready, Yeah, let's do it.

Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
Oh what.

Speaker 3 (01:24:56):
I've been playing?

Speaker 2 (01:24:57):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, Christian tell us about the Altars. Yes,
that's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
I think you would like this game because it's a
it's a survival like build your own base maintenance thing,
but it's also very heavy narrative, so I think you
might like that that vibes And just just just to explain,
because the story, the story matters for the mechanics you are.
This is for the people that made this Water of Mind.

(01:25:23):
So this game is pretty much that. But Threa dy
and a sci fi said, so you are an astronaut
that falls into this planet and whatever, and every the
entire crew dies, the entire crew. So what you have
to do is use a weird resources this is in
this planet called rapidium to clone yourself because rapidium can

(01:25:43):
accelerate time, So you clone yourself. And in this in
this ship, there's this quantum computer. They can like see
your mind and your memories and make like different paths
in your life and the decisions of your life, and
that that way you create that different personality of yourself
with different like abilities. Sorry I'm cook.

Speaker 1 (01:26:07):
No, yeah, I've been like I've been trying to like
figure out like how that works, like yeah, and it
does sound interesting, but I still feel like this is
one where I'm really just going to need to play
to understand how that all interconnection with each like each
run or whatever.

Speaker 4 (01:26:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
Yeah, and you your brain like this content computer cooks
like it's like scat your memories and you're a builder.
You're your main guy is a builder. And when you
can like the decision of your life, you can branch out.
And that guy has a different life from like the
decision you take and that guy is like, uh he's

(01:26:43):
an engineer or is uh I don't know, is a
minor and that kind of deal. And on top of that,
that thing makes it so they had different lives, so
like they clash with each other because like, oh, you
took the decision of life, and that decision it's like
a really nice narrative there, like you had to keep

(01:27:05):
everything happy. Yeah, conflict within within the characters, and it's
all up around this like really nice, really cool survival
thing where it's like it's not like, you know how
in any other survival game you go to a tree
and you have to like walk in and you spend
most of your time walking trees, and this game is
now like, no, you found like this mineral of this

(01:27:26):
fucking metal or whatever. You sit there and it's like
immediately avounces time like it's like a fast world war
and it gives you all of it. So it's it's
really nice. It has a really nice space to it.

Speaker 2 (01:27:39):
So people have been telling me that that.

Speaker 1 (01:27:41):
I would like if people have been like hitting jan
I because the character's name is Yan.

Speaker 4 (01:27:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
Yeah. Also, how's the voice acting.

Speaker 3 (01:27:51):
It's pretty good. It's just one guy. Well it's not
just Jordan.

Speaker 1 (01:27:54):
Yeah, yeah, I had Alex Jordan on the couch last year.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
I think I'm int a gat him on the couch
this year.

Speaker 1 (01:28:00):
I think I just lost track of it because he
was like he was promoting the altars. But yeah, he's
he's fantastic. He was like mister Hand in Cyberpunk.

Speaker 2 (01:28:08):
I think he was a nice guy, so shut out
to Hand.

Speaker 3 (01:28:12):
It's really it's really impressive for one guy because you
can't get like up to like seven altars, like six alters,
and not all have like it's the same boys, but
all sound different because they had different life experiences. You know,
they just like.

Speaker 2 (01:28:25):
Are they implanted with these memories?

Speaker 1 (01:28:26):
You mean, like and the memories are different and then
they like walk into the room with fully like fully
formed memories and lives behind them.

Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
Yes, because the quantum computer like kind of simulates different life,
your different memories from your main life.

Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
I like that.

Speaker 4 (01:28:42):
Yeah, you take.

Speaker 3 (01:28:43):
Different decisions in the like the in the co quantum computer.
You see like this timeline and it has notes where
you have big time with big decisions in your life
and you can like choose you either stay with your mom,
or you leave your house like, or you stand out
to your abusive dad, or you don't. That like creates
different altars, like different alter egos of yourself.

Speaker 4 (01:29:05):
Yeah, and like it.

Speaker 3 (01:29:06):
It's really really good. It's really fun that the survival
is not as like as I was saying. It's not
like it doesn't feel like a chore.

Speaker 4 (01:29:15):
You had to.

Speaker 3 (01:29:17):
You had to explore a little bit. And then it's
really the maps are really small and they're really how
you say, like contain, they're not They're not like big
maps that you had to go away and like constantly
being like, you know, you spend a lot of time
she was hanging out with your guys and trying to
like build relationships so they don't kill each other, like

(01:29:38):
they don't do crazy ship in the ship so you
can survive this very fucked up planet. And it's a
really interesting game. I still haven't finished it. But the
only thing I don't like it you can't do everything
in one play through. The game told you, hey, you
might want to try to do anything, but like, you
can't do everything. To see you had to play it again.

Speaker 4 (01:29:56):
I don't know how.

Speaker 3 (01:29:57):
A lot of games are like that. And she's just
let me do you know once like it's just.

Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
I'm not a.

Speaker 1 (01:30:05):
I played Director of eighty twenty at SGF and it
had the thing of like, you know, that's a game
about choices, so they can take you back to those
inflection points very easily.

Speaker 2 (01:30:13):
And so they're doing that.

Speaker 1 (01:30:14):
They're just letting you look at the the you know,
the choice tree and going to each of those points
and be like, hey, do you want to try something
different now that you've done one? You could just do
the other one right now on this playthrough. And that
was like something that made me think, oh wow, I
this might be the one I really want to check out.
Of these Dark Picture anthology I think it's what they're
called games, because it's like I like that idea a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
Yeah all right, well yeah this guy has something like yeah,
sorry this last thing. This gay has something like that.
But it's just like it tells you what you pick
in the in your previous get playthrough. You have to
still play the entire game and get to the point.
Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:30:48):
So they could have done it maybe, but they are
just like kind of being precious about it. And I
think that, uh, Director of eighty twenty, is it super massive?
They were like, we're not going to be precious about
that anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
We don't care.

Speaker 4 (01:30:59):
Alright.

Speaker 2 (01:30:59):
Cool.

Speaker 3 (01:31:00):
If you like soccer, play that or if you like
Sorry Rematch, if you like the Rooky League, play that
game is fun.

Speaker 1 (01:31:07):
Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna put together our rematch team.
We're gonna do five v five, So we're gonna have
all five of us play on a rematch team.

Speaker 3 (01:31:14):
If you if you have us fun. I'm pretty I'm
pretty nasty as a goalie.

Speaker 2 (01:31:18):
Okay, yeah, I got good at the goalie.

Speaker 1 (01:31:21):
That's the one where I'm like, I fully understand this,
like just like positioning and waiting for the ball to
actually be kicked and not reacting too soon, and I.

Speaker 2 (01:31:29):
Kind of like doing it on a subconscious level. Rematch
is cool.

Speaker 3 (01:31:32):
I like that road paper sissor thing where like, is
he going to go to the size you're going to
try to love it, it's gonna go down. That kind
of thing is pretty fun.

Speaker 1 (01:31:40):
I guess for people that might not know, Rematch is
the Rocket League with people game.

Speaker 3 (01:31:44):
Yeah from the seafool folks.

Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
Yeah, from seafood folks with great animation.

Speaker 1 (01:31:48):
Yeah, Rocket League po Rocket Legal, Holy shit, all right,
Mike the Mike.

Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
Uh, let's do those super chats now.

Speaker 5 (01:31:57):
Jack Lob says, three d oh stream please head it's
them back in the day and played the hell out
of Space Hawk, Vengeance of the Blood Angels PO, and
Killing Time.

Speaker 2 (01:32:06):
I love Jeff, by the way.

Speaker 5 (01:32:07):
You just let me take all this heat for being,
of course, some inherently spoiled rich brat jerk asshole for
having a three do as a could not bringing up
that your dear precious wife also had a three d.

Speaker 1 (01:32:20):
Who kind of grew up a little bit a little
bit poor, also had a three d oh. Yeah, so
it's not like some indicator of great wealth. Now, yeah,
you're welcome.

Speaker 5 (01:32:29):
What can I say except yeah, I know I would
definitely I still need to play that definitive edition of
PO because POLD was one of those games that I
wanted for my three d O and just never got.
I think that in Blood.

Speaker 1 (01:32:40):
Right, you should also play Maybe so you don't get it.
On a certain show we do, Cyberdillo, you should play
cyber I should play cyber Deal so you can understand
what I'm talking about with that. Okay, I'll take a
look at Cyberdillo, all right, Jason always says, where does.

Speaker 5 (01:32:55):
Zero for Mega man X fit on this Too Cool
for School list? We talked about this, But he's kind
of a cop, right, He's just I don't know, that's right.
I don't know if I ever thought Zero had that
much attitude. Again, he's kind of a Cyclops sort of character.

Speaker 1 (01:33:09):
Its kind of strattle little boy scouty. Yeah, I mean yeah,
relatively speaking, not as not as much.

Speaker 5 (01:33:16):
Too ex is more of a boy scout for sure.
But it's not like I don't think like Zero some
rebellious guy. Uh phantom Zero, Yes, serious? Sam Michael Lear
brought the travel tattoo Mario fan Seros about conquer We
talked about these it.

Speaker 4 (01:33:31):
He says.

Speaker 5 (01:33:31):
The elaitp beat agents use their power style, but taxi
driver evade the police to get it pregnantly to the hospital.
They ain't cops.

Speaker 2 (01:33:38):
They aren't cops.

Speaker 5 (01:33:38):
They don't I don't think they have two.

Speaker 1 (01:33:40):
They're very nice people. They're actually like superheroes in a way. Yeah, yeah,
they're superheroes. Yeah, Like Superman doesn't have attitude.

Speaker 2 (01:33:47):
I don't even know.

Speaker 5 (01:33:48):
It's like Spider Man has a lot of jokes calling
that tude.

Speaker 1 (01:33:51):
No, that's snark. That's just pure snark. Like a lot
of these cool dudes have snark, but like not just
pure snark.

Speaker 5 (01:33:58):
Simple Jack says, y'all give me a refresher on Blinks.
The cat was he cool? I think they wanted us
to think he was cool.

Speaker 1 (01:34:05):
Yeah, he he had like he wore goggles over his
head like this, which reminds me of that Seth Green
character from Can't Hardly Wait?

Speaker 2 (01:34:14):
Who is the least cool character. It always reminds.

Speaker 5 (01:34:17):
Me of the the guy from Digimon personally, right, And
these are all kind of try hard designs, I think, Yeah.
I mean, like Blinks was definitely came out of the
mass coof factory at the time when that thing was
just sure jumping them out.

Speaker 1 (01:34:30):
But they got the mixture wrong of cool and tu
and snark and design.

Speaker 2 (01:34:35):
They kind of mixed missed it up there a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:34:38):
Ricky Beast's Onie Musha two when I.

Speaker 1 (01:34:41):
Do want to spend some time with Anni Musha, but
that's like on a list of like fifty other games
I would love to like spend some real time with,
So I don't know as closer to that new Annie Musha,
this might be one where it's like if I could
force a way to happen, make it happen on Giant
Bomb during the day so I could play it during
work hours, maybe I could justify it.

Speaker 5 (01:34:58):
I hope that once I beat sec Out and have
withdrawals from it, they on emosh uh, that reboot happens
and then I'll just be satiated immediately.

Speaker 2 (01:35:06):
Did you ever play the original Tenshoe? Not? I think
I rented tenshow once upon a time.

Speaker 1 (01:35:12):
Yeah, I loved ten Shoe, and I think that I
think from Soft worked on that. They worked on some Tenshoe.
Maybe it wasn't the first game, but uh yeah, that's
a that's a good game. That's one I always think
of when I play Zecero.

Speaker 5 (01:35:21):
Ryan Allen says ancient meme Alert Power Thirst Rocket Edition
with new flavors like ban Energy, Fizz, Bitch, and gun.
You've had the worst, now have the thirsts.

Speaker 2 (01:35:32):
That's a that is one of my favorite early memes.
I love it. You got fucking energy legs, all.

Speaker 5 (01:35:40):
Right, and uh, there you go. That's that's all super chice,
Thank you everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:35:45):
All Right, Let's see here did I undo this? There
we go?

Speaker 1 (01:35:49):
Uh, Mike Manati, I think it's time to get out
of here. Why don't you tell people where they could
find you on the internet. I think you guys have
a new episode of Nineties Disney. Tell them about all
that stuff.

Speaker 5 (01:35:56):
Yeah, New Nineties Disney is out. We talk about our
favorite lines or favorite cues. There's a lot of theming
and stuff to do in just while you wait sometimes,
so favorite lines and queues in Disney and Universal Theme parks.
We had a fun time talk about that. Now I'm
getting ready. We're doing a Muppet Treasure Island episode at
the start of the month, so I gotta get working
on that one there.

Speaker 2 (01:36:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:36:17):
That was actually the best part about being at Disneyland alone,
was just taking in the vibes of the queues like that.
They were much easier to sort of relax when it's like,
I'm not worried about are.

Speaker 2 (01:36:26):
My kids thirsty? Are they hot? Are they uncomfortable? Like
that stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:36:30):
I can't turn off my brain when I'm with when
I'm with other people, I don't want other people to
be uncomfortable. So it's like I could just sort of
vibe out and look at this Indiana Jones que and
really just love every single detail about it's good stuff.
Games mornings Tomorrow on Giant Bomb we'll do a UPF.
I feel like there was something else we were gonna
do tomorrow, but I can't remember. It's been a hell

(01:36:50):
of a busy week. We do appreciate everyone supporting us
here as well. Q and A yes happened to next week?

Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (01:36:56):
I'm doing a Q and A this weekend. Let me
let me see, should I just I think we'll do it.
We'll do it Sunday morning. We'll do it Sunday morning.
I'll do the Q and A for a game mess
look forward to that. We'll do that in Discord. So again,
if you're a Discord Premium member, you should be able
to hop into that. Ask some questions in Columbros next week.
That's right, sure, try to watch that again.

Speaker 3 (01:37:19):
By the way, the community is running Mario Kart's War Weekly,
so it happens every Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:37:25):
Every Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
Okay, yeah, I think it's noon Eastern or somewhere around
those times. So check check if check the Discord on
the events is all the details.

Speaker 1 (01:37:37):
Why God, yeah, man, that Mario Kart eight had that
really good tournament mode where it's like you just open
it up if people could jump in.

Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
I don't know. Is there an equivalent in world? I
don't think there is. That's a shame they used to.

Speaker 1 (01:37:47):
They had that tournament mode in Mario Kart or Mario
Golf as well, and that for three DS, and I
got rid of it for the switch version. They should
bring back stuff like that. All right, whatever, thanks for
listening everybody, until next time, I have gone to take
care of yourself and goodbye.

Speaker 3 (01:37:59):
Well wrist.

Speaker 5 (01:38:15):
Becker solution, tell I see evidence that the world is
around I'm not believing a damn thing.

Speaker 2 (01:38:26):
This Dan a sissy baka Joe.

Speaker 4 (01:38:31):
You're gaming between d K's legs is where I need
to be right now.

Speaker 2 (01:38:38):
All right, we're out.

Speaker 3 (01:38:41):
This is a break.

Speaker 5 (01:38:43):
We are chats from the last stream, so we're good
to go. I'm ready, okay, let me just I'm gonna
tell something quickly, get a second drink.

Speaker 3 (01:38:53):
All right, we're here. We're out here, gentle ones, gentle
demons hanging out. I can't believe Mike hates Marathon this much.
Is crazy. He's such a hater. He's so funny.

Speaker 2 (01:39:15):
All right, what are you telling these people?

Speaker 3 (01:39:17):
Nothing? I don't know what we're talking about. She's saying
the mic is just really good.

Speaker 2 (01:39:23):
He's been a good boy. Yeah, is that really what
you're saying?

Speaker 4 (01:39:27):
He said, Mike's a hater, which is the truth. You know,
of course, tell me something I don't know. Yeah, funny daddy,
you know, let's go. Pete wants to play Marathon.

Speaker 3 (01:39:39):
Imagine how when the war would have been if they
didn't open up that close Beta, if they was like,
this is a close never happened? What I remember me
be like that sounds so stupid.

Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
Why wouldn't they show it?

Speaker 3 (01:39:51):
Didn't they show it? And they all fall apart? That's funny.

Speaker 2 (01:39:55):
Hi, nick.

Speaker 5 (01:39:57):
O, all right, I'm ready, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:40:03):
I like how you said by the way.

Speaker 2 (01:40:06):
Yeah, that's uh.

Speaker 1 (01:40:07):
I think that was Backler said that in our discord
by way of like, I think he was channeling.

Speaker 3 (01:40:12):
Lucy Bloke over the Yeah, let's go.

Speaker 1 (01:40:17):
You said, by the way, You're gonna say something? No
I did, I thought Christia said by the way, and
then I interrupted him, So.

Speaker 3 (01:40:25):
Yeah, if I forgotten, So let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
No worries. Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:40:30):
And then I like Brad Lancha chat spoilers squar Nix
says it underperformed.

Speaker 2 (01:40:34):
Yeah, I think we can expect that.

Speaker 5 (01:40:36):
I mean, do you also expect the publisher they talked
with with somehow square Inox and this is about really
default remastered, because that's kind of what I might.

Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
Yeah, I think there's there's a chance for that for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:40:46):
Yeah, he'll probably right on the money right now.

Speaker 2 (01:40:48):
I think that's those the betting nods would be in
the favor of that. I think. All right, I'm gonna
bring the show. Have given me a review code.

Speaker 5 (01:40:54):
I could have told people it was good.

Speaker 4 (01:40:55):
Wow, Okay, I got I got some for you when
we get back from break all right, hell yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
Let's I'm good. If you guys are good, let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:41:14):
I'm running out of steam here.

Speaker 2 (01:41:19):
All right. Had me post this so people can yell
at us.

Speaker 3 (01:41:21):
I had to talk about the Altars, Yes, I have.

Speaker 2 (01:41:26):
To, okay, yeah, that's right. Yeah, please, Oh my god,
why is this thing on? All right, let's do that
and we'll share this. Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (01:41:42):
I remember now what I said about the Vanquish guy.
I said, like, this guy either fox a lot, or
he's an insult and he's like no.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
Yes, or he's never had sex. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
Man, it's the coolest motherfucker.

Speaker 2 (01:41:56):
Though.

Speaker 3 (01:41:58):
We're never gonna get out, which makes me sund.

Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
Chat, how much of the Quest sixty four experience could
I get in two hours? I expected this response. I
expect that all chat to laugh at me. It is
one of the things I may be considering for a
charity stream later this month, and I think we only
have two hours for that three percent? Lowell lmao, Okay,

(01:42:27):
that I think that's gimmick infringement, buddy, all right. John
Carson apparently has ownership of Cust sixty four.

Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
You would sure experience it, but not much of it.

Speaker 1 (01:42:41):
I mean, maybe I could talk them into I play
the first two hours and we have to pass it
on to whoever's next. I curse, yeah, curse the rest
of the stream. How long to beat this? Twelve hours?

Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
Man? That's it. That can't be right.

Speaker 4 (01:42:57):
Really, RPGs used to be short. Yeah, man, that's not
particularly good RPG either, Right.

Speaker 2 (01:43:04):
Did you think, like I mean, I don't know, have
you played it?

Speaker 1 (01:43:07):
I've watched people play it, Okay, okay, okay, so they
that would be a good way of knowing. Because I
was gonna say, is the one that got like really
ding for being a short RPG?

Speaker 2 (01:43:16):
Back then?

Speaker 1 (01:43:16):
It's like oh this is all the N sixty four
can provide because it doesn't have CDs. So I hate
this game, but I think it might actually be shoot bad.

Speaker 4 (01:43:23):
So I think it's I think it's more middling, like
like like five out of ten material. It's not like
like an awful game. It's just so boring, kind of bright, which.

Speaker 3 (01:43:38):
Is kind of the worst thing a game can be
if you think.

Speaker 4 (01:43:41):
Right, because it's less interesting than being bad.

Speaker 3 (01:43:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:43:45):
Well, this person's playing Quests sixty four right here on Twitter.

Speaker 3 (01:43:48):
Oh, sure, just put it on the street. Let's watch
it was finished.

Speaker 1 (01:43:52):
Yeah, I just watch. Oh that cape is flesh colored.
All right, cool, Good for you. Brian from Questions.

Speaker 2 (01:43:58):
All right, I am. I'm ready to bring the show back.
I might drop the Google sheet.

Speaker 4 (01:44:04):
Hey, give me the mic when we get back.

Speaker 2 (01:44:06):
Yep, I give it all to you, all right, all right,
