Speaker 1 (00:17):
Oh damn it, it's the Internet. You're busy. Let's do this.
Welcome to the Game As Decides Podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
This is the podcast where we decide everything about the
world of video games, so you never have to think
for yourself.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
I'm your host. Jeff Grubbin with me is.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Not Mike Manatti. It's Jason Snili. Ladies and gentlemen's filling
in for mister Manatti while he is on assignment in Japan.
I believe, yes, he's over there in the.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Well, he might as well be.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I don't know, he's in the phantom zone.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
We we have banished him so we don't have to
deal with them. No, he went to s F. Actually
he went out to go I don't know.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
As Simon, there's a lot of people on Japan right now,
there's a lot of people in LA and he's in
neither neither of those places. He was doing some bespoke
giant bomb work. Got to hang out with kind of
Funny as well, so we're happy about that. You guys
should check out his episode of Kind of Funny Games
Daily from yesterday. Dan was on the Kind of Funny
Games cast talking about Ninja Guid and Rage Bound. They're

(01:21):
doing good work those boys, and then they gotten a
waymo and destroyed all the goodwill that Giant Bomb had.
So thanks a lot, guys, appreciate it. Jason, I am done.
Oh I got to say that in today's episode that
Partner Direct happened to Mount Rushmore Ballers.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
We'll get to all of that here in a second.
It's long, long day for me.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
It was the Nintendo Direct this morning, and then kind
of NonStop working on stuff, and then a couple of
like important meetings after work. So it's just been one
of those twelve hour days that I ended like enough
time to do the trash and then.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Do this show, which is also the Trash. Hi, everybody,
I'm glad to get How are you doing.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
I'm good. I'm another busy day as well. We did
the talk over this morning, and then a full day
of work writing news and things like that. We had
the Battlefield Multiplayer reveal that I cranked out a bunch
of news for over on game Spot.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
I didn't time to watch any of that. How did that? Yes?
How does that look?

Speaker 3 (02:22):
It looks like Battlefield five, which I think, with the
existence of twenty forty two being a thing, is a
compliments it looks fun, it looks like battlefield. There is
a there is a single player campaign. They only showed
a thirty second teaser of a girl speaking about the

(02:42):
world at the moment, how you know people you think
your allegiances aren't actually and then she randomly throws out
a quote from Little Finger from Game of Thrones, doesn't
name it because they don't have the license, she says.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
The trailer ends.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
The little teaser ends with like the man says, chaos
is a ladder, and then it just ends. It's a
very weird way to end that trailer.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
But that man is a bad guy from Shanghai Nights
just said to your internet connection might be a little all.
You know, you seem deeply out of sync with me
right now, Are you okay? Your interconnection is still going
on for for discord, Yeah, it might be coming back.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Actually, let me see if I have I can close
some things. I didn't have anything else open streaming. Maybe
is messing with me.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
There was a moment at a couple of seconds ago
where you broke up and now you're not breaking up anymore,
but there there.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Was a bit of a delay, But I think the
delance is still there.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Actually, now that I'm now that I'm talking to you,
so you know what you're trying disconnecting and reconnect real
quick and see if that fixes it?

Speaker 1 (03:45):
To the call. Yeah, this call.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Let's see there we go.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
All right, let's see what happens everybody. I'm I have
a lot of faith that this is going.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
To fix it.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
You better be fixed, because God wouldn't punish me. You
had another technical problem today? All right, Jason Fanelli, how.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Are you doing?

Speaker 3 (04:05):
I'm feeling good. You're feeling good? Are we? Are we
talking to each other? What's going on here?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Well? Now you're now your audio is out of sync
from your human face. Let's see. Okay, I think it
might be dialing in.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
It usually just takes a second ye on the bottom
left the discord where it says video connected.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Do you have like four bars or three bars or
what does it?

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Okay, that's a one fifty one millisecond.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
I think I think we're good.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I think we're good. Now, I think we're I think
we're back in sync. Okay, that works for me. Okay,
So the the game looked all right, looks like Battling
five that we kind of been maybe been waiting for.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I mean, who knows that that's going to be enough
for what EA wants.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
But do you get a sense of like how the
fans are responding so far as they're a little bit
too early to say.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
I don't know about that.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
The only people they had in the room were streamers
and content creators that they you know, flew out there.
So you got the kind of responses that you would
expect from people as they were talking to them. No
offense to them, we get it. I listening to them
talk sometimes like they just the one girl was like, yeah,

(05:13):
you know in this one part we did shotguns and
then we did grenade launchers, and then we did SMGs
you know that sort of stuff and there and then
the Golden Boy was like, what about what were the
teams doing? We're doing any team strategies were We're like,
we're going She was like, yeah, the one time we
did shotguns and then we did preade launchers and then
we did SMGs. I'm like, no, man, he's talking about
like flanking and then but whatever.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
But yeah, I mean it.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Looked fun that you saw some vehicle stuff, saw some helicopters,
some fighter jets, saw a little bit of tank gameplay. Sure,
I mean, it's it's it's it's the rudy tudy shooty
military game that we've had for all this time. I'm
not I'm not saying I won't give it a shot,
but when I'm also not thinking it's gonna blow my
sox off here. It's just kind of there, just a thing.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
YEP. I will probably end up playing it, but I don't.
I don't.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
I don't expect to take over my life, which is
it feels like one of those games has to take
over somebody's life, and they think it's going to take
over one hundred million people's lives.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Whatever.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Again, that's their problem. I would be happy if I
just enjoyed the video game. Looks like that might be
entirely possible. Sure, sure, Now keep me posted if I
have more tech issues. There is storms in the area
that might be closed over. A funny story about that.
So I have been saying all week and on my
many appearances on Giant Bomb. All of a sudden, I
appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah, and I appreciate the invite that I was not
able to make it out to EVO this year. I
checked tonight on a whim. The flight I would have
taken was canceled again if I just was not destined
to go to Vegas this year. I got canceled in
June for Magic and I couldn't go, And if I
had gone to EVO, I would not have gone tonight.

(06:50):
I find that to be the sign I was just
not meant to be in Vegas this year.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Who was stuck in Detroit Airport for like thirty hours
someone's trying to control.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Yeah, Jess was stuck. Then it was like, oh, that's
that stinks, especially like you get to go to Japan. Yeah,
a lot of part.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
I was made about waiting for that Vegas flight before
I canceled. If I was delayed that long going to Japan,
I would have can what's left of my hair out.
It would not It wouldn't There's not a whole lot left.
We're getting to scalp at this point. It would not
have been It would not have been good. But yeah,
so the storm A long story short, the storm might

(07:28):
be causing some weirdness. Just let me know if it
continues to happen throughout the course of the show. I
would hate for my first impression to this new audience
to be a five second delay every time I say
a word.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Now that the delay seems to have cleared up for now,
but we'll let you know if there's anything else that happens.

Speaker 1 (07:43):

So if we could figure that out soon.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Real quick, real quick, quick, hullo you shit wrong show.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Sorry, wrong shots. It doesn't matter, proba.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
These shows start to mush together at my brain at
a certain point. You could do it if you want.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
I got some big topics I want to talk to
you about Jason Pannall you happy if I do that.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Let's get it going. Let's start with this one real quick.
You were mentioning before we got started. You and Christian
were talking animatedly about cocon and they had some details
about that. Why don't you guys tell me, because again,
I've been busy all day, didn't see a single second
of this.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Sounds like it's pretty shit hot.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
So we don't actually know what it looks like in
live gameplay yet. The evo has not opened. It opens
tomorrow and they will have live demos. They have a
booth there, the old fashioned free booth where you can
This was a start guide kind of thing or what. Yeah,
it was a twelve minute eleven twelve minute beginner's guide
that walked you through mechanics. It walked you through different

(09:57):
nuances of its gameplay. I find it fast that you
choose your character and then you choose your three partners.
You have your one main guy, your point character that
you'll be controlling in the beginning of the match, and
you have to earn, for lack of a better term,
you were three assists. So like, if you do the
it's called the assemble attack. The assemble attack is the

(10:19):
is the uh. I think there's an assemble gauge. And
once you fill one of the notches in the assemble gage,
if you do a certain move that does the stage transition.
When you get to the other stage, your partner is
waiting for you, says I'm here, let's do it, and
then you can call them in for assists, and then
you can call you can switch to them. Finally, until
you build out all four of your team. I Christian

(10:42):
would have to help me with this. I can't remember
off the top of my head. Do they share a lifebar?

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Yeah, it's all the same lifebar.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Okay, so they all share one life bar and it's
round based. It's not like Marvel versus Capcom, where once
you eliminate everybody, the match is over. It's one lifebar
for two or first of three rounds. That'll be decided basically,
probably through gameplay when it gets to the competiti when
it actually comes out. But man, man, oh man, does
it look cool? The control scheme looks cool. There's a

(11:10):
designated button for this assembling mechanic. There's a designated button
for gills for special attacks. There's also a quick skill,
a quick assemble another, a third quick button that I
hope you can customize with specific Like if I have
a specific special move that I'm really into, I hope
I can put that in the quick skill section.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
I don't that would be nice, but but I who
man I And we'll probably talk about this at a
later show that might be happening fourteen hours from now.
But I have three main storylines going into EVO, and
the burgeoning tag fighter scene is one of them, with

(11:51):
Tokon being front and center. Now, I fully expect when
people get their hands on it, it's going to be
all that's going to be talked about on that show.
Forlor it's'll be wild.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to hearing those impressions.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
You know, we'll probably get Shawn back next week and
he's going to try to play it and probably get
some first first hand impressions.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
From him, and I'm excited to have that happen.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
He usually does a pretty good job of getting that
reconnaissance done and telling us all we need to know,
all right, excellent. EVO starts like in full tomorrow right
and then goes on the weekend. Not to toot my
own hoe, but toot toot, motherfucker. If you go to
game spot right now. I did an EVO twenty twenty five,
every competition and all the whole schedule basically ten am

(12:34):
Tomorrow morning Pacific time, one pm Eastern. Ten different sorry,
nine different streams, but they have ten total throughout the weekend,
ten different Twitch channels, all with different things. They have tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
The main one which is just called EVO as opposed
to EVO one. It's confusing. I know the main one
will have the showcase, which is like panels and announcements.
It's a Virtual Fighter panel schedule. There's a token panel
scheduled for eleven o'clock Eastern Tomorrow night. I'll probably stay
up for that, I know myself. H a whole bunch

(13:10):
of stuff, and Invincible Versus has ninety minutes on that
stage as well, and then each of the other channels has.
There's one ev O two. I think Twitch dot TV Slash.
EVO two is all street Fighter, EVO three is all TECN.
EVO four starts with Mortal Kombat and that switches to
Fatal Fury. I think EVO five goes Fatal Fury and

(13:33):
then switches to a different game. It's all they have
it on the website. It's in my article as well.
You can follow it along Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There's
only two streams, thank god. One is the main stage,
which is the top eights. Of the four highest attended
games this year, street Fighter was the most attended, Tech
and eight was second, Fatal Fury making its debut was third,

(13:53):
and Guilty Gear Strive was fourth with the other five
the other four games, Mortal Kombat was the least. I
know that. Under Night in Birth I believe was next
with Grant and then Grand Blue above that, and then
the Classic game. They do a classic game now every year.
Marvel versus Capcom two was fifth overall. So yeah, that'll

(14:16):
be Saturday night those top a it'll be Saturday night.
But and then they've also started an extended lineup, so
they have two channels now devoted to extended lineup games.
Rivals of eighth or two, which is one that I
am not very familiar with. Isn't that extended lineup? I'm
excited to see that Capcom versus s n K two
is over there in the extended lineup.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
I know.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
I think that's one of your your favorite fighting games. Yes,
I've heard correctly, So that's over there. Yeah, there's it's
a there's a whole line up there as well, plus
all of the other streams going on Team Spooky and
and all the guys that are doing EVO stuff all
week long. Max is already there. He did a test
stream earlier where he watched the to con Beginner's guide
that I mentioned. It's it's gonna it's a wild, wild time.

(14:58):
I'm I'm gutted that I'm missing it because twenty four
was awesome. But you best believe I will have ten
different windows starting at one pm on these screens, soaking
it all in. Baby, It's gonna be great.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
I'm happy for you. Looking forward to watching some of
it myself.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Yeah, we'll talk about a little bit more on Gameless
Mornings tomorrow as well. Looking forward to it, sir. All right,
the Nintato direct happened, you know. I don't think we're
not going to go over all the news. I did
that on Games Mornings today if people want to hear
all that. There's definitely some stuff worth calling out again,
for sure, but mostly kind I want to just talk
about the reaction, how you're feeling about those switch tos,

(15:35):
the lineup overall, how you're feeling about the overall quality
of announcements from third parties, like the meta level stuff here,
what's been now that you've had a little bit of
time to sit with it, how are you feeling about it?

Speaker 3 (15:47):
I do think that the number one prevailing thing that
comes out to me about this Partner direct today specifically
is and I spoke about this at the end of
the talkover that we did earlier today. The fact that
EA Sports was here twice and e A was here
three times if you include Apex Legends, bodes well for

(16:09):
the switch to overall. I believe the fact that that
that is a company that is not historically taking part
in Nintendo Direct and that's one of those what weird
one off EA originals Indie not in these projects that
they do. So the fact that they showed up and
bought three slots in this thing kind of tells me
that they're kind of pushing uh, they're pushing their their

(16:31):
their chips on the table when it comes to switch
to it, and we may see some support long term instead
of just flashing the pants stuff. You never know with
the A because it's EA. But first impression with them
at least is good. People were saying, I wish it
was college football planters of Zombies also ya, so that there.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Wow, I forgot about it. A lot of down like
how well these games do right?

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Like the like EA is ready to has the waters
and maybe has high hopes and it's got, you know,
something in a different category. FIFA seems to be the
one they're like, we think that we know that audience
will buy some stuff on Switch, we know the appropriate
level of support.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
For Switch to Madden. We'll test it out, We'll see
what happens.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Then Apex legends the update there is like, okay, you know,
switch to it is more powerful, So let's at least
get this game running decently and see what happens at
that point with that game that we are now rededicated
to and Plants versus Zombies, a very you know, broad
game in terms of its appeal, feels like that, like, Okay,
let's see what that does, and if that does pretty well,
maybe we could try some stuff in this direction, go

(17:36):
in that direction. EA has had success with the switch
in fits and starts last year that my SIMS bundle
apparently did really well on the Switch. So I think
they're like aware that there is a certain kind of
audience that will buy a certain kind of game, like
the SIMS is almost certainly going to head.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
The Switch to here in the next year or two.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Taylor made yes, Yes, it's everything else that I think
is still a question, like how well does the Madden
dude that will dictate whether we get college football next year,
because it's.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
Not gonna happen. Yeah, I agree one hundred percent, And
I think between those two games, I think Madden is
a better first option because it's professional football. I mean,
the college football, as popular as it is here is
in the States, is definitely still second fiddle to the pros,
So putting going Madden first, especially since they're both developed

(18:25):
by the same studio down in Orlando. So if you
do well with Madden, you can now take the formula
for Madden, iterate it for Madden twenty seven, and then
splinter the team off for the college football version of
of College Football twenty seven on the switch to Yeah,
I think that's a I think that makes a lot
of sense. The one thing I would have changed, I
think if I were organizing this show, I think I

(18:47):
would have split up Phillibilitia and Octopath Traveler Zero. I'm
not calling it Adventures a Valiant. I'm not doing it.
It's called Philabilitia. Its name is Philibildia.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
You had a chance, still like reckon with that, because
when it happened, I was just like, what the fuck
are they talking about? I couldn't even like really wrap
my mind around them naming a city and a game
Philip Beldia. It really does just feel like that, like
they liked the name the way, like they like the
way Philadelphia sounded when someone said it, and they're like, well,

(19:20):
we don't want to put that in there because that'd
be weird, So let's just change it and no one
will really know and say everybody knows what you did here.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
It's very strange. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
And then that they were trying to think of a
way to change the name, and then Jessica Bielle popped
up on the TV and all of a sudden, they
it was.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
We got I have a great idea chocolate.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Oh no, I I jumped head first. I don't know
if you saw my blue sky. Right after that, I
went and we were talking about the battle system being
John John.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
John John, Yeah, very good stuff.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
Someone called it a John RPG instead of a j RPG,
which is which is great.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
Someone said that they were going to get their Phoenix
downs from the wah wah it was. It was, it was,
Oh god, it was. It was incredible. I oh no,
I don't care. I reckon with it. Are you kidding me?
I'm thrilled?

Speaker 1 (20:05):
You know what, do you know what Philadelphia's claim to fame.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
What the Philadelphias claim to fame in video games is
now before Philippility, do you know what it is?

Speaker 1 (20:13):
What is it?

Speaker 3 (20:13):
The the non advertised but actual setting of Heavy fucking Rain. Really, yes,
it is heavily rumored without being.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Said that.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
One before he was pressing X to me. That's exactly
what he was doing, press X, and I mean, yeah,
that that does really roll off the tongue, doesn't. There
was a there was a kid in high school who
didn't know my first name. He had to ask me
a graduation waiting in line to go to the fields.

(20:47):
It's just yeah, uh but yeah, unless there's and then
there's a couple of Madden games this year included with
Eagles on the cover. Last one was McNabb and O
six if you recall. But yeah, Philadelphia's legacy inside video
games is Heavy Rain, and now this maybe some things.
I'm forgetting Tony Hawk level, as I'm reminded by Cody

(21:08):
Owens here. Oh it was awesome, I thought. As soon
as I saw that, I I immediately just jumped on it.
I latched onto it. Now that being said, the game
is cool. I did have a chance to sit down
with the demo for a little while. Love the yeah yeah,
love the of Mana influences here, the more action RP,

(21:29):
action oriented combat of the RPG.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
I think it's closer to that than like Zelda right,
like it's it's closer to the.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
I would not call this a link to the past
like or A or an old school of Zelda like. No,
it's very much more the of Manas and that's a
good thing. I think. I think that's a good thing.
And it's a good thing A for the gameplay of
this particular game, and b for the future of HD
two D, because I think they were starting to realize
that turn based RPGs in HD two D are great,

(21:56):
but they're starting to wane a little bit. Is just
they all kind of blend together at some point, even
though they're from different franchises. So to now inject this,
maybe we get the of Mata HD two D. If
this does well, right, you start with the original, just
like they did without the Paths Traveler. You start with
the original IP see if people take to it, and
then branch out into the known franchises again makes perfect sense.

(22:17):
Same thing we just talked about with Matton. So if
this is a if this, you know, brings in the
of man Is or some other weird squaringenox ideas and
this HD to keep this HD two D train going
them all for it. But yeah, the demo so far pretty.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Good, all right, cool, that's I am happy to hear that.
Other things from this direct. Let's see that Hella game
looked really cute with the little mouse, definitely something I'm
thinking a lot about. There was supposed to be a
demo for that as well, right, A lot of these
said they were gonna have done.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Yeah, this one does maybe, sure, but that's out in
twenty twenty six.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Has the four player really really like the look of that?
Let's see I think, you know, Jason talked about. Those
are the two big games that end of the show,
but there's also other RPG things and the strategy RPG's
Final Fantasy Tactics. The Evilist Chronicles showed up again here.
It was nice to see more of that. Yeah, Kauza
Kwami two that is yeah, just continue doing those makes

(23:15):
a ton of sense overall. I'm like, I'm pretty happy
with this direct because I understood what it was going
to be before it happened. And yet I do think
it's like we are in this place where, uh, you know,
we were waiting for a lot of dates from Nintendo,
and why are they being so coy with it? For
a long time there, I've been assuming that these companies

(23:36):
are okay with doing it because they've never really experienced
any detrimental effects from waiting. You hold it close to
your chest, you announce it like even two months out,
like I guess, like maybe the norm is three months.
But if you even if youve announced it two months out,
no game that seems to have been announced two months
out has seem to have hurt, and it's in its

(23:56):
sales when it actually like went out, went up and launched.
They all those games do just fine for the most part.
And you can try to imagine a world. Okay, what
if you announced that a year ahead of time, would
you've gotten more sales? No, but you would have spent
a lot more money on marketing. So I assume that's
kind of continues to be what's happening here. But I
wonder if there's more to it than that.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Some people mentioned that Kit and Krista did their Nintendo
Direct reacts today. They're former Nintendo Treehouse employees, and they
said they had like some concerns. I've had a chance
to listen. I don't know if they listed what those
concerns are. But do you think like publishers are being
like a little bit not touchy, but a little bit
like skittish about announcing release dates to the point where

(24:39):
it's weird because I don't know if I'm there yet.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
I think the potential for a delay and the backlash
that a group of fans might give them may give
them paus to lock something in. I think rock Star
is experiencing that right now, because there's already rumor that
it may slip to September twenty twenty six and not

(25:03):
make that May twenty six news flash it never was
making Meg got the tinfoil half for that one too.
But no, I think if you have a hard date
that you know that you're making, then if you're comfortable
announcing it, announce it there. I mean, that's what Nintendo's doing, right.
We didn't know about Bonanza until April and it came

(25:25):
out what three months later? That makes perfect sense. We
still don't know the Metroid Prime four date. That's probably
that could be coming. We could find that out in
the September direct and it's coming out in November, right,
we don't know, yep. So I think there's nothing wrong
with waiting until the last possible moment to release, the
last possible time to confirm your release date and announcement

(25:47):
announce it because news moves so fast now that the
initial wave of pre orders that if you're going to
get pre orders is going to take care of itself,
whether it's like you said, a year or go or
three months before, and the less you can spend on marketing,
if you can put that budget somewhere else or just

(26:10):
you know, put it in the war chest for your
next project. That makes sense too. I get I get it.
I get the strategy there, but I don't envy them
having to make any game company having to make a
decision on release date, particularly for a highly touted release
like the ever absent Silk Song like the team Cherry.
I cannot imagine what they've been going through now.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
For what now neither were years too much yep.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
And now it seems like they're locked into whatever Xbox
says they have to launch. I imagine that game is likely done.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Yeah maybe, I mean again, it's not really like a
launch game for the Asus, like they Xbox made it
sound that way. Team Cherry came out and said, it's
not like so, it's kind of like it's happening around
the same time and there's some relationship there.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
But I got Team Cherry still has autonomy. I'm like,
when they can launch that thing.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Although if they did maybe pick a date to go
alongside Xbox, they were probably handsomely paid for that.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
So oh hope hopefully it all works out for them.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
Yeah no, I I frankly, as soon as it said
partner direct, my expectations were tempered. I feel like I'm
not alone in that. But I don't know. I feel
like this is gonna get me in trouble. But I
feel like I feel like Kitten christ shit stirs a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Oh yeah, yeah, definitely, No, absolutely, I love it and
for sure yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
It's sometimes they came out with some takes and I'm
just like, oh, guys, stop it. So it was nice
to hear that they had nice things to say about this.
I didn't get to watch their video after this, uh,
but all in all, I was fine with this direct.
I didn't think it was the you know people like
to come out and say every single direct is the
worst video that was ever made, And that wasn't me

(27:53):
in this one. I expected it to be a couple
of interesting things with some ports coming sparkings. Your band
and Namco had a nice showing here with a Katamari
and dragon Ball sparking zero as well. So you have
banned on Namco, you have EA, you have Capcom starting
the thing off with Monster Hunter Stories three, all these names.
Square Enix ended it with the two games we already
talked about. These are all names you're gonna want in

(28:15):
this on the switch to they're all of the big publishers.
All like four of the biggest names showed up here,
and then you have other ones filling You'll be soft
was technically here with Star Wars Outlaw.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
Yeah, that's five and that does feel like what this
was right.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
It feels like this partner direct was about let's get
some stuff from the biggest publishers.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
They do require special.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Attention, They do need to be have a little bit
of incentives, and the direct is a pretty big.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Incentive because a lot of people do watch them. It
makes these games feel a little bit more special because
they were part of that. So, yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
So then as we get to like games comm and
other opportunities for other people to reveal their games, maybe
on their own. For the Nintendo switch to, yeah, well,
there's still gonna be a ton of it could be
a ton of announcement.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
It's still could be tons of games that get revealed
with dates for later.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
This year, even from third parties and announced in Cologne
in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
So I'm not too concerned about anything.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
And overall, like, as it stands right now, the release
schedule for the switch to is looking just fine to me.
We'll see what twenty twenty six ends up looking like.
So yeah, I'm I'm sitting in a pretty good place
with the switch me too, all right, Uh, let's see here. Oh,
there's that the war on the credit card companies after
they worked with Yeah, that stuff is ongoing, and it does.

(29:34):
It does sound like it is like beginning to get
organized on the gamer side of things, of people calling
master Card in particular, but also Visa in response to
them threatening to take away credit card processing from Valve
for Steam and from itch dot io for its store.
In response to another group going to those credit card

(29:55):
companies and complaining about them taking money from people who
make what they consider to be portography. So we've covered
the tracks of the story a whole bunch right now.
Where it stands is these these stores are still not
allowed to sell adult material while also taking Visa and
MasterCard transactions for anything else, like even if people aren't

(30:17):
using those cards to buy those games like those, the
Visa MasterCard were threatening to take away the purchases for everything.
So ith dot Io, for its part, is saying it's
looking for an alternative way of processing payments that doesn't
go through MasterCard, and it's it's that's going to be challenging.
There is no obvious solution there, but it's it's looking
for an answer now. And in the meantime, I still

(30:40):
got quite a bit of heat from people who are
mad at them for not standing up. But I get
the sense that no one's really able, know, none of
these companies are really able to stand up to the
credit card companies. So it does come down to public outcry.
And you know, there's people who have worked at these
credit card companies or worked at call centers that have
worked with the companies who are saying the current strategy

(31:03):
of people calling up MasterCard and calling up Visa is
the thing you should be doing and is probably working
because if you send an email that goes right in
the trash. If you call them, they work with third
party vendors to handle their on phone customer service support,
and they have to pay by call, and so there

(31:24):
are people dedicated whose entire job is get the volume
of calls to drop, get them down. There's too many,
and so if they're getting, reportedly is around eight thousand
calls a week, that is going to drive them crazy.
It's going to turn into a nightmare for a lot
of people involved. And that means it will likely escalate
pretty quickly because that number is going to lead to costs,

(31:45):
and that cost is going to go on to a
budget sheet which is going to look really bad, and
that's going to keep going up. It's probably the thing
that's going to get the attention. The question is can
they sustain it. That's up in the air.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
How realistic is it to expect these big companies to
respond quickly?

Speaker 2 (32:03):
We'll see that doesn't mean there's going to stop getting
pressure from the other side that is trying to sensor
video games and at the same time, it's like, Okay,
maybe you win this battle, but this could happen again,
and or the people who are going through these credit
card companies could get creative again, so maybe look for
more alternative sources for payment processing. I don't really understand

(32:25):
that world at all, Jason, because it's you just think
like it should be so much easier to give someone money,
and it's why is it just a handful of companies
that can do this, Stripe PayPal and the credit card companies,
and even like it's like I understood it in like
the real world, right, like when you go to a
retailer and you have your credit card there and it's like, okay,

(32:45):
someone has to pay for the payment processing thing. It
just feels like on the Internet it should have been
streamlined to the point where obviously the money is just
digital and we have our digital counsel, we connect them
and I could just give it directly to you. But no,
there's still all these middlemen in the way, and I'm
sure it's a security to a certain point. I think
it's probably also about like our cane regulation. I don't

(33:05):
think we're going to be able to solve those problems.
But at the very least, hopefully people are able to
kind of stand up, shout and get these companies back
on track and out of our business.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Right.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yeah, I would like to think so eight thousand calls
a week is nothing to sniff at. But I have
already seen reports on Blue Sky and stuff of what
they're trying to do to kind of counteract those. I
saw someone be told that someone was told that the
calls are going down, so you know, interest is waning,
which is probably just a scare tactic. I don't think

(33:36):
that's actually happening. I did also see two just before
we signed on, if you saw it, Itch has said
that they are reindexing the free adult rated games, plus
the ones that aren't aren't to be charged. So if
and if you are, if you made a free game,
a free porn game that you want back on the service,

(34:00):
you can list it on whatever page that was. So
we may have turned a corner there because there's no
payment involved it's free. But as you said, the bigger
issue is why do four or five companies get to
decide what we spend our money on. I think that
is the whole prevailing argument in all this. When we

(34:21):
decided to go cashless as a society, most of us
who are under a certain age that did not come
with the caveat that the people who make the cards
get to tell us how we spend our money. In
a word, fuck that.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
Now.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
I'm not someone I've been on itch dot io maybe
five times total in my life, and four of them
were ever since this started, just to see what the
hell's going on. It's not a place I normally go to.
But if I decided I want to, like, if they
did one of their charity bundles and the charity bundle
happened to have one of these games in it, and
all of a sudden, I can't support the charity because
this game's on it.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
That's bullshit.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
That's total bullshit. It is a little bit of this
Project twenty twenty five thing that totally wasn't real, but
of course was right. That's what's happening here. These these
right wing Christo fascists, whatever you want to call them groups,
are now empowered to think that they that their opinion
matters this much because I guess they're not being hurt

(35:21):
enough at home, or they're ashamed, as you like to say,
that they enjoy these things and their shape, they have
to spread their shame to everybody else or whatever the
fuck their problem is. We can't curse on this show, right,
it's late. It's a little late for that, but that's
what we do here. Somebody has to but it's how
we do it in fillibility. But like I just it

(35:46):
infuriates me to no end that we are now at
a point in society where people who think that they
hold moral ground for whatever reason, have the authority to
tell people what to do because of that moral ground.
And I was born and raised Roman Catholic, so I

(36:08):
have a bit of that spirituality in my background. I
don't know if you can see it. It's off screen here,
but my grandfather painted himself a version of the Last Supper.
Look at that, and I keep it there because this
is the house he lived in my entire life. He
passed away in two thousand and six, my grandmother passed

(36:30):
in twenty fifteen. We bought the house in twenty eighteen,
so I keep that there intribute of him, and because I,
to a certain extent, have faith. But that faith is
always questioned by these far right motherfuckers who think that
because they read a book that they know how the
world should work, and it just we are not the same.

(36:53):
I do want to say this too, having faith and
doing what they do are not the same.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
All.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
If you have faith and you're not like them, you
just read better, You have better reading comprehension.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
It's all it ever is, is like that, you we know,
you don't really care about the faith side of things
if you're using it to attack other people. Like it's
very clear to me that it's that simple that if
someone is using this as a weapon, or or alternatively
as a shield to protect the patriarchy as a shield
to protect certain institutions that disadvantage certain people, that you're

(37:28):
not actually serious about anything you're actually reading. It is
simply a tool that you're wielding. And that's not everybody. There's,
of course, the people that are able to practice their
faith in the way that is authentic, and I've met
those people and they're some of the best people I've
ever met. But there is a tendency for religion to
be used. I mean, it's almost been designed in a
lot of ways in a lot of cultures to protect men,

(37:52):
to protect and then to punish women, and that's always
that's often what this is it's about punishing women, it's
about punishing queer people.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
And I, yeah, I was.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
I was raised to think that religion was meant to
be an olive branch, not a cudgel, and these people
are using it as a fucking cudgel. I just would
like to point out that I have been called in
chat woke minati.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
There is.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
I do I do want to, I do wanna? I
do want to get ahead real quick?

Speaker 5 (38:21):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
There is a super chat here from Harrow for Life
if I may skip ahead to a different and it
says this may not be read, but I would recommend
you read what Collective Shout is and what they do.
As a child abuse survivor, they have been instrumental in
protecting women and in children from abuse. I would like
to say to you, I'm sorry for what happened to you.
I'm glad you are in a place now that you

(38:43):
can join us for this show and put that in there.
And that is fine, Okay, I agree with them, but
right now, in this situation, they are overstepping.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
Yeah, and.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
They're poisoning and good will they might have done on
anything else by making their beliefs everyone else's and using
underhanded tactics to accomplish it. But yes, that's not to
say like everything they've ever done is terrible. Just this, Yeah,
that's all we're talking about. It's just context for sure,
And yes, and good people can also just be misguided

(39:20):
on these things. I don't think like when we say,
when I say people are using their faith to attack
other people, I don'tly think they're conscious often that that's
what they're doing.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
They think they're doing the right thing.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
They think they think they're getting into a place where
it's like, I am, I'm protecting these people from pornography
the way I'm protecting a child from abuse, and they
equivocate those two things and see them as the same
and see them as equal goods. And the unintended consequences
here is there are a lot of people who are
then standing alongside you and trying to legitimately hurt people

(39:53):
who make queer art and so and and they're like
mad that they have done this and they are trying
to punish them, and it's a kind of abuse of
its own. So yeah, yeah, I'm glad to hear that
side of things.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
I will look into that.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
I'm now very interested to hear and see like what
Collective Shot has done in that space.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
And again, yes, as Jason said, sorry that happened. And
if they provided you some solace and some protection in
your life, that's awesome. Glad to hear that.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
That's good. But again, it's just this one, this one thing,
this one tunnel vision that they have. It may be
well intentioned, but they may also be influenced, being influenced
by people who don't don't share that intention and I
think that is the problem.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Ye all right, Like I said, we're gonna keep talking
about that for the next little bit, kind of see
how it develops. It's one little step at a time,
kind of understanding how these companies are barely starting to
catch up. I guess the people on the phones at
these call centers are starting to be like, oh, you're
calling about that now, And then occasionally they're also being like, Okay,

(40:54):
we're just gonna hang up on you. So I don't know,
keep up at if you've been calling. If you haven't,
go look into it. See if you can lend your
voice to making things a little bit a little bit
better and avoiding some unreasonable censorship in games, especially from
a private corporation who shouldn't have a say and what
you do with your life.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Correct.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
Okay, we're gonna take a break. We're gonna come back.
Lots of super chats to get to. There are a
lot of things to discuss that you guys want to
talk about, So we'll get into all that right after this. Well,
all right, we're back. Jason Vonelli's here. I'm Jeff Grubb.
It's game, Mess decides. Let's do those super chats. Jason,

(41:32):
I think you got him in front of you. Let's
go ahead and read out. Yeah, I have some super chats.
Let's start with at Big Fresh thirty seven is grub
aware of how is July over yet? You stupid stars
has become a meme across every Reddit thread about directs.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
I mean a little bit. People say it to me
every once in a while, or I'll see it here
or there. I guess I didn't know it was like
a meme across every single one. It doesn't surprise me,
Like I don't go and check glor all that often
gaming leaks in rumors these days. It's just you know,
there's always they're always talk about a version of myself
that doesn't exist, that only exists in their heads, and

(42:10):
that's just frustrating to deal with, even if it's good
or bad either way, and so it's like I just
rather sit here in reality.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
But when I when I won the Leaker of the
Year last year, I realized it was probably mostly because
of that thing. So it must have been a big
deal in that subreddit, and that's a pretty big subreddit,
so I guess that must have now have it's spread
everywhere else because those people that are on that subreddit
are everywhere.

Speaker 1 (42:34):
So okay, fun to hear.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
That's that's neat, well done, sir, Big Big Threat, Big
Fresh thirty seven back again sent you more info about
sunder Folk in Blue Sky DMS.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Thank you, Yes, Big Fresh, I've it's been an insanely
busy like day and a half after that leak and
my damn faucet yesterday, so I will.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
Check that out, but I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (42:56):
How'd that go, by the way, And again, not as
bad as it have been good or I think we're
gonna be able to fix up most of it ourselves.
Cool cool cool Uh. Simon from Saskatchewan, do you have
any switch to case recommendations?

Speaker 1 (43:13):
Okay, case you're saying case and not grips.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
Yeah, I so I actually really like I think it's
the ginky one for the steam deck actually, because it's
like a bag that has a couple of zipper pouches
and one you can like put your keys in all
your stuff, and then there's another one that's really nicely
padded and it also like compresses down to like fit
around whatever you put in there.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
And it's made for the steam deck.

Speaker 2 (43:38):
But I've been putting my switch to in there and
it doesn't feel like the switch too is like slipping
and sliding around or it's too big for the switch too.

Speaker 1 (43:45):
So I really like that. The there's a ginky like
fuzzy case with a zipper.

Speaker 5 (43:50):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
The one I was sent was a review unit, and
the zipper broke on like day one, so I'm sure
that that's something they've probably fixed, but I'm just not
going to recommend that one. So, uh, it's a steam
deck ginky bag.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
Look for that. And if you have questions.

Speaker 2 (44:05):
About which one it is, I don't know, dm me
somewhere on discord or something. I'll let you know if
I can find exactly the model.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
So I bought this one the same that I bought
the switch to at best Buy just has next in.
I don't know the brandam. I could look up the
receipt if you want me to. I can recommend it
to you. I've it's been fine, so it nice. Switch
to just fits in right here. I could put it
in joysticks first. That actually has some holes for those
buttons there. If I need to holds ten games, which

(44:32):
is fine, holds the charger up here. It has done
me well on planes, It has done me well on
car trips. I am very happy with that, and it
was convenient they had it right next to the to
the desk there. Best Buy just added it to my
purchase and went on my merry way. I really did
appreciate deal. Yeah all right at lex Luddy six zero
three five. Not sure who that is? Nice person. I
bet Grubb should do more podcasts. Lazy Sooba, Oh never mind?

Speaker 2 (44:57):
You know what the fucked up thing LEXI is spite
working NonStop today. I do still feel lazy in a
lot of ways. So yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 (45:05):
I know it's well, what can I do about the
stupid fucking brain I have? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (45:09):
Thanks, I say that once a day, I really do. Uh.
Simon from Saskatchewan back again in the unlikely event Dan's
right about Metroid Prime four being delayed. What should Mike's
punishment be for defalling at Dan great word for counter
picking it.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
I think we all laughed at him. We were all
like while he was doing it, we were all quiet
looking at each other and be like, is he fucking
serious right now? And then he did it, and then
we all laughed at him. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (45:40):
We probably should all be punished to some degree, but
I'm honestly having to wait that long for Metro Prime
forest punishment enough for Mike's Mike specifically, Uh, what's no
Disney for five years?

Speaker 1 (45:52):
There we go five years? He works than death for him.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
If he may sit five days, I'll buy you dinner.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
It is funny, like when Mike has gone and he
is at Disney and like Steps are like, well, why
isn't Mike on the show, And I'm always at Disney.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
She's like again every time, it's very funny.

Speaker 3 (46:14):
It's a bit at this point, I'm it from Saskatchewan
once again. Man, Hello, do you put maple syrup in
the fridge? Real or fake?

Speaker 1 (46:24):
I do not?

Speaker 3 (46:25):
I did. It was funny. I grew up with it.
In the fridge. Yeah, in my current it's in the pantry.
It's room temperature, and I find it and I used
to love it cold, but now I find it easier
to pour of course in the pantry, but it also
gets stickier because it's not you know, it's a cold. Yeah,

(46:46):
it's weird dichotomy, but I do prefer it at room
temperature now, I think, as opposed to cold.

Speaker 1 (46:50):
Yeah, I think I grew up it, grew up with
it in the fridge, and now we keep it in
the pantry. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
I don't know if that was a decision I made
or steps just started doing it, but I didn't question.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
I'm like, yeah, this is this makes sense.

Speaker 3 (47:00):
Oh I know who made it here, stuffed it my
stuff did Yeah, absolutely, Yeah, there you got not even
a question. Now I want to adapt this same question,
peanut butter in the free Peanu and the pant.

Speaker 1 (47:10):
Peanut butter is definitely in the pantry. Yeah, that's always
been panty.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
But same thing. I grew up with it in the
fridge and now it's on the fan.

Speaker 1 (47:17):
Never in the fridge for me as a kid. Ye ever, Yeah,
that sounds weird to me actually thinking about it.

Speaker 3 (47:22):
Cold peanut butter is weird, but I didn't mind it.
I mean, I ate a lot of it.

Speaker 1 (47:25):
I'm sure, yeah, yeah, yeah right, because like the whole
idea of peanut butter is, I wanted to be easy
to spread and I would imagine put in the fridge
like ruins that a little bit was that? Yes or what?

Speaker 6 (47:37):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (47:38):
In college I used to get it. I used to
get it out with a spoon. See, it was never
a problem at dreadnought six three six Metroid Prime four
delayed till twenty twenty six. Now I saw this super
chat come in. You got me, all right, you fucking
got me. I looked it up and it's not real
and you well done, well played, very good.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
I'm gonna give you your money back. Dreadon not get
out of here.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Not.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
It's not funny.

Speaker 3 (48:08):
It's not funny. It's not funny. What I love that.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
In a ban people mood lately you want me to
band the other guy that said the bike games are
for you and that kind of deal with are you good?

Speaker 2 (48:26):
Yeah we got yeah, I'm just a bad mood in general.
You got a question, yeah, I was like, yes, exactly.
So dealing with the kids, who I cannot ban from
my human life chat and now I have to come
here and deal with these kids.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
So yeah, who I can ban.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
Any s title screen bad mood and it's.

Speaker 6 (48:44):
Just you bad moods, zombie pouring fantastic with football being
back kind of.

Speaker 3 (48:54):
I can't believe Grubs said the Lions will never beat
the Eagles and Dan Campbell isn't half the coach, Siriani is.
That is not an all account, I promise, But yeah,
we're going to own up to that.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
We'll see what happens. We'll see what happens this year.
We'll see what happens. Yeah, they have better if they
better fucking.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
Win this year. Man, they gotta go to it all.

Speaker 2 (49:12):
Just get to one super Bowl in my life or
in the life of the entire franchise of the Detroit
Lions in the NFC.

Speaker 3 (49:21):
Listen to me. If there's one team in the NFL
that if they beat us in the NFC Championship, I
would still root for, it's Detroit Lions.

Speaker 1 (49:26):
I'm not lying yet. I mean I'm literally no Lion.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
Yeah, literally, the only NFC team that's not been to
a Super Bowl the Detroit Lions.

Speaker 1 (49:35):
My team.

Speaker 3 (49:36):
Everybody there, it is they they got to get there?
The Unchartted Wolf ninety four eighty. Hi Jason, Hello, what
is one game developer you guys would love to interview?
Non including Peter Malinu. Well, you've scaled the question. Now
what are we to do?

Speaker 2 (49:51):
I can't think of anybody other than Peter Malineu. Now
I mentioned it a couple of times. I still would
want to interview him at this point. Lars Winger, first,
I just like, man, what happened?

Speaker 1 (50:01):
Why were you doing this?

Speaker 2 (50:03):
And I know most of the answer is the money
was cheap and they could borrow a lot of money
and just do a bunch of dumb shit, but it's like,
what'd you think was going to happen here?

Speaker 1 (50:10):
I just want to get that whole.

Speaker 3 (50:11):
Story, my whole life. My answer to this question was
Reggie Feesa me and then on my now on Permanent
Hiatus podcast Cheese, Steaks and Controllers, he was my episode
episode one hundred guests, So I got that's fantastic.

Speaker 1 (50:26):
Yeah, right for his book.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
When his book came out in a nice forty minute chat,
that was awesome. So now I would probably say Kojima,
I think I would love the chance to sit down
and talk with him or someone of that ilk right,
because I get to interview a lot of developers, so
there aren't many left that I would say I've never
talked to before. Coach of was one of them. Miamoto

(50:49):
is one of them that sort of like old tier
of Who've been making games my whole life? Where are
we we are at at? Joshua prudhom I hope I
said that right, if that's your actual name. More Jason
on everything, Please we got you, we got don't worry.
I bet you say that to all the Jason's j

(51:11):
LA NEPs coming in with Death Stranding two in the evenings.
Deliveries are back homies. Yes, live that ups life. Get it.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
That's the other one other than Expedition thirty three that
I want to get some time on with.

Speaker 1 (51:25):
Yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 3 (51:26):
Well my problem is me too, but I still have
to get time with one before I can get time
with two.

Speaker 1 (51:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (51:31):
I played quite a bit of one sign I didn't
finish it, but you know, this one looks enough like
that game, and they have a here's what happened on
the first game, you know, last time. When you start
up that game, there's like a whole section for that,
So I'm just going to do that.

Speaker 1 (51:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:47):
At Cody Owen's ninety one thirty seven, Jason, are you
reporting live from Philibildia. Yes, Philipildia. I've got the Philipildia
fanatic with me, that little ferry that follows me around
where the entire world map is just one big fucking grid.
We're having a good time. Uh At at Cratics five
oh five, Jason, what dream musical would you live to be?

(52:08):
Love to be in or live to be in? They
both work even if that was a title, grub, But
what dad movie would be a great movie musical? Grub?

Speaker 2 (52:15):
I'll start with you, Oh this is this is actually
easy and it is moneyball.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
You could sing a lot of songs about like.

Speaker 2 (52:23):
You know about math but no, but really about like
the way that the math intersects with people's lives and
someone like thinking that they're out of the game and
this people then this team's selecting you and be like, no,
we really think that you're our guy, and the the
big like eleven o'clock, send them a home number when
they you know, come back in that game to go

(52:45):
twenty and oh or whatever it is.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
Yeah, it's Moneyball. Moneyball would be a great musical Moneyball.
That's that's a great answer.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
Uh yeah, my dream musical, I think now, uh would
be lay Miss. I've never been in ley Miss. I've
never been in le Miss. I grew up wanting to
be Javert, But then I watched Hugh Jackman do Jean
Valjean and the Theater version in like twenty twelve, twenty thirteen,
whatever that was, and then I was like, oh man,

(53:12):
that's either one of those are dream roles. I love
that show. It's my mom's favorite show. That's another reason
why i'd want to be in it. I just that
ley Miss for sure.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
Lay Miss, But I would just want to be a
jellical cat in there and just really throw a wrench
in the works and ruin everything. Oh oh on purpose.
I was like you probably, yeah, you were in a
different way. Yes, yeah, I'm gonna be rum tum tugger,
just mess. I got plenty of food over here.

Speaker 3 (53:39):
Rum tum Tuger sounds like something Minatti would have made up.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
Yeah, I mean, look, it's an insane thing to call anything,
but so is everything in the musical Cats.

Speaker 3 (53:48):
So the truth that is the damn truth. At Blake
Merritt thirty two oh five. Any real insight for lack
of big First and third party twenty twenty five release
dates or even twenty twenty six. Games Kit and Christa
even seemed and I quote a little concerned in their
direct reaction, thank you, You're welcome. As we talked about

(54:08):
in the previous segment. No, I think we're at an
age now where companies will either release a game or
announce the release date three months two to three months in,
or just announce a game that's coming out six months
from now, like in the case of Octopath Travelers zero
earlier today, December release date, first time we heard about
it today. We don't really have that like Hollow Night

(54:30):
Silk Song thing going on anymore with newer titles. So no,
I think by the end of the year you'll look
back at how you felt right now and we're like, man,
why were they just kind of like edging it co?
Why couldn't they just do this because all these games
came out.

Speaker 1 (54:43):
Yeah, I like, let's get through games, come see what
happens there. But I'm like, lack of big.

Speaker 2 (54:48):
First and third party twenty twenty five release dates, I
don't know. We went over those release dates during Game
of Mornings this morning with Lexi and like, October's got
like ten big games in it.

Speaker 1 (55:00):
Yeah, I don't. There's a lot I get. It's it
like a.

Speaker 2 (55:03):
Level above the stuff that's been announced. I guess there's
not a million things on the level of cyberpunk out there,
but I'm not. I just the industry doesn't make a
lot of those anymore, so I guess I'm just not
expecting them.

Speaker 3 (55:15):
You also have to remember Grand Theft Auto six influenced
a lot of this, so that it's now that it's
out of twenty twenty five, you may see some teams
pivot and if they can move their projects up into
twenty twenty five, do it. And maybe that's why they
were holding off on releasing their their launch dates. There's
a whole mess of things I'm not again, like you said,

(55:37):
a whole game mess of things. Sorry, that just came
to me. Games come and then the following Nintendo direct
ye to be uneasy? Yeah, right, Like if it's the
if it's the Wednesday after Labor Day or even the
week after that, if those two things pass, I'll start
to be concerned. And then if Tokyo Game Show passes

(55:57):
two and we're still like where are these games? Then
I'll be like, oh shit.

Speaker 2 (56:02):
I'm just not There's so many games coming in this
moment that I'm already kind of like I'm good.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
I don't share this sentiment overall.

Speaker 3 (56:10):
Sure, sure, at Rick Grayson, Rick dot Grayson, I think
sorry with Shoney. With Sony showing a new focus on
multi console releases, especially multiplayer games, do you see Marvel
Token coming out for the other consoles?

Speaker 1 (56:26):
Right? I didn't like think about the fact that that's
like a.

Speaker 3 (56:32):
They are they are are developing, and Sony is publishing.
I could definitely see see that being a game that
they send to both consoles.

Speaker 2 (56:42):
And I already bought PlayStations right like, they don't need
to sell PlayStations.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
To fighting game fans.

Speaker 2 (56:48):
I don't think that's so what is the harm of
putting it on Switch even Xbox?

Speaker 1 (56:52):
I think it's zero.

Speaker 2 (56:53):
I think it's literally zero harm to their bottom line
putting that thing out everywhere eventually, not obviously in that
day one.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
And listen, they're going to sell it to the fighting
game fans on PS five because that's where most of
them are, and they're going to sell it to the
fighting game fans like me who own multiple consoles. Who
is gonna want to buy it on every goddamn thing
because he can't help himself. You're gonna get multiple purchases
from people. So yeah, I don't, I don't. It's it
would be a fantastic switch to game. It really would carry.

Speaker 1 (57:19):
It to almost assuredly.

Speaker 3 (57:22):
Yeah, but Xbox who knows, but if even is a console?
But yeah, I do think that they'll eventually put Marveletope
on other places, maybe like a year of exclusivity, six
months something like that, but who knows. Yep, Hey Jeff,
and might not be Manati, Jeff, have you heard anything?
Wait m Obama five seven eighty two, I did not

(57:42):
say your name. I'm there. It is, Hey Jeff, and
might not be Minati Jeff. Have you heard anything else
about what Creative Assembly is working on? Still holding out
hope for Total Warhammer forty K Long Live Philipildia, go beards.

Speaker 1 (57:59):
Yeah, God, let me double check real quick. I'm gonna
just do a quick Google search to see if this
has popped up anywhere. I think it has. Let's see here,
Creative Assembly and blah blah. Yeah, This is what I
heard a couple of years back that Total Wars working
on a Star Wars strategy game, and then that rumor

(58:20):
did pop up somewhere after I heard that, So I
think that's what they're doing.

Speaker 2 (58:26):
Have I heard anything since then? No, I haven't been looking.
I haven't really dug around they were. That wasn't seem
doing Hyenas, right, and Hyena's got canceled. I bet they're doing.

Speaker 1 (58:35):
I bet they're doing follow ups.

Speaker 2 (58:36):
To all like their main Total war series, probably Yes Warhammer,
Total war Hammer and then and then this Star Wars game,
which I think could be a really good fit that
that seems like the kind of thing where that's a
good match of IP and gameplay style, where it's like
that game can probably sell significantly more with an attachment

(58:57):
to Star Wars without the expectation that it needs to
sell to every.

Speaker 1 (59:00):
Star Wars fan, because of course it's not. It's a
strategy game, right.

Speaker 3 (59:05):
I feel like people who played Total war may have
already played it with Duel the Fates blaring in the
background anyway, So.

Speaker 1 (59:10):
Yeah, it seems like a perfect fit. And that's right.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
They're also making Alien Isolation too, although that's like years
and years away, right, they that relatively recently?

Speaker 4 (59:19):
I forgot to by the way, By the way, the
Total Warhammer forty k. This station makes sense because we
haven't got one of those ever.

Speaker 1 (59:27):
Right, and they did Total war Warhammer Regular Warmer regular.

Speaker 4 (59:32):
Yes, old time in Warhammer, and they haven't done for
it will be pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (59:36):
What about two through thirty nine thousand?

Speaker 1 (59:42):
I'm gonna ban him all right, damn it.

Speaker 4 (59:45):
You got to read a bunch of books for this one.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
I know, I know that joke is as low hanging fruit.
My brother's huge and the Warhammer, so I know I
knew what I was getting in through there.

Speaker 4 (59:57):
Well, forty k is huge. That's why it would be
cool if they do one of those.

Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
I agree with you that it makes a ton of
sense for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
Another perfect fit.

Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
At Willow Davis, she grubbed menati till I mess thank
you for your contribution to this wonderful show, thanks for
your money. At m Obama five seven eight two, she
mess on my grub till I'm minati. I need to
know the sound effect that is menatiing. I need to

(01:00:28):
know that sound effect. Quick?

Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
Do you have anything in there?

Speaker 4 (01:00:34):
Take your time one.

Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
Thank you, Holy Ship. That's it. Oh that boy Jerry
checking again really enjoyed Lexi at all, sub began entertaining
their Hella excellent, Finelli is superb to Oh Jerry, that's.

Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
It was a fun talkover. It was a really good time.
I really could you believe that that was like less
than a year ago that we did that.

Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
I cannot believe that direct was this morning. Actually, I'm
going my mind a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
Yeah, it was more than twelve hours ago at this point,
and that shit. Uh so I actually read this one.
I'm going to read it again just to put it
in superchats, and they had two more than I'm going
to combine into one big super chat.

Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
Family's do it at Harrow for Life.

Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
This may not be read, but I would recommend you
read what Collective Shout is and what they do. As
a child abuse survivor, they have an instrumental in protecting
women and children from abuse. They petitioned Steam and Itch
to remove rape and incest games and do not have
an issue with porn games as long as it's not
does not involve abuse. Just want to say that I
love you guys. I don't disagree with that.

Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
I mean, but the proof is in the pudding. Though.

Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
We know what happened here because there was that one
game I can't remember its name that that was the
offending rape game, and the Itch removed that kind of
right away, and Valve eventually removed it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
It took them a little bit longer.

Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
They do have a much more laisse faire attitude about
that sort of thing, which I think is always worth
like holding their feet to the fire on that.

Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
I'm like, yeah, you should let everything in. And then
I see a.

Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
Game like that and like, well not everything obviously, So
that game wasn't on there when all this stuff actually
started going down.

Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
I think that if.

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
They already achieved the goal of having that game removed,
that specific game, and yet they still went for it,
and now all these other games are getting caught in
the crossfire. Well, I mean, you're the effect is what matters,
not the intent. I mean, that's what we always try
to teach people, right, It's like, what the consequences of
your action are? What is what's actually important, not the

(01:02:46):
good intentions. So the fact that people who are trying
to make a livelihood from making smut, like we can
call it what it is that's fine, but they deserve
to make a living too, and selling their games to
consenting adults, and if you want to try to prove
the protections that children have, like I said, I was
willing to, like, let's have a little bit of a conversation,

(01:03:07):
but maybe we shouldn't let people buy eighteen rated games
with gift cards that they could buy with cash that
they go and get from CBS as a kid or
something like that. Yeah, I think maybe putting that protection
in place makes sense. But you have to be eighteen
to have a credit card, so you have to either
have a parent's permission or you have to have a
credit card yourself. And I just think the credit card
company stepping in is still a line far too far

(01:03:28):
across what is acceptable here.

Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
But I agree, I still really appreciate that this insight though,
like hearing this is very helpful. Yes, thank you, Harry.

Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
Yea because as they're an Australian group, so we don't
know much about them, and if they are doing good work,
I would like to know more about that than this are.
If there is good work being done they I would
like to give them their flowers instead of just throw
these starts at them. Because here they're wrong.

Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
They just are.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
At jedmis for I love the direct, but I'm also
a big fan of Octopath and h D two D,
so I was well served. Plus in Japan they announced
Dragon Quest three is getting a free switch to patch,
which is out now. Plus they also had thank you
for the super chat. They also had a trailer for
one and two HD and I have a I have

(01:04:16):
a complaint. Why the fuck are you showing different things
to different regions?

Speaker 1 (01:04:20):
I hate that shit. They've done that always. It's so weird.
I don't know how they decide. Yeah, and they do it.

Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
In and sometimes they show the same things but in
different orders. The classic one Marvel versus Capcom Arcade collection
was in the Japan Direct before it was in the
American direct, so I had that shit spoiled for me.
I'm like, come on, man, what are we doing here?
Just put all the same stuff in. I mean, there's
there's Japan region specific games, like I don't expect to

(01:04:47):
see a Chowanniki game, let's say in an American direct.
That's never gonna happen, But like, come on, help help
us out here with games that are more universal, please,
I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
Know if so, da boy, Jerry's got Apparently he coded
a message in his super chat says, please read the
beginning of each word and is it are we the
first letter?

Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
Do you mean?

Speaker 2 (01:05:12):
Because it's r E L E A S E so
release t h G the.

Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
L I S to release the release the list? All right? Cool?

Speaker 3 (01:05:35):
Good ship, come ship?

Speaker 1 (01:05:37):
What up? That's good? That was fine. This is the
L I S.

Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
T were like kind of a little bit more scrambled
than the other ones, so it was a little bit
more difficult, and that just actually made the unintentional comedic
timing of that very good.

Speaker 1 (01:05:49):
That boy so.

Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
Because I almost said release the fists and I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:05:52):
Like, what the fuck does that mean? But the L
we got there.

Speaker 3 (01:05:58):
I don't know if this is Zaki Zaki R A
c AC, but I'm want to say, Zachy Zaki play
Metal Gear Solid two. I already did. I did it,
and oh shit, I'm gonna ban you from your own
I know. I love Metal Gear Solid one so much.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
And then I did the thing I always do, where
when the first game and the second game have different characters,
I become a little bit less interested and I put
it to the side. I did that with you in
like Donkey Kong Country two and right. Yeah, So I
played don Your Country Donkey Kunk Country two recently and
I loved it. But I always knew I would like
Meddle Gear Solid two. I I've played metal Gear Solid
one and I played metal Gear Solid five, and I

(01:06:35):
love both of those. So eventually I'm gonna find some
way to like I think just stream through playing all
of them on my own channel, but it's hard to
find that.

Speaker 3 (01:06:44):
I'm gonna need you to stream Delta. But yes, three favor.

Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
That's the and then that probably is the right right
move here is to get through two right now and
then play Delta. Okay, it might make it happen.

Speaker 3 (01:06:54):
So funny story about two Uh. I first finished it
and I was in high school. I played it when
it came out or just after it came out, and
I loaded up my save at nine o'clock on a
Sunday night in the summertime, I was at the Harrier Fight.
For those who have played it, I was at the
fight against the Harrier. I then finished the game that
evening right, so I was up till three or four

(01:07:16):
in the morning. I just finished the game outright. I
wanted to be done it without spoiling anything. There's a
point in that game where things go nuts and your
codec calls go weird and your screen goes nuts. I
thought I was genuinely hallucinating because at one point this
CODEC call that tells you to turn the game off
because it's late, and it was actually late for me,
and I just about jumped out of my skin, but

(01:07:38):
I pressed on. It's one of the defining moments of
my gaming life. You should play out of your STYLI two.

Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
I'm gonna make it happen. I'll do it that course.

Speaker 4 (01:07:46):
I love it if you play the first one too,
because in the first one that psychoment is kind of
Fox where you're saving stuff. So like, if you know that,
it lands like realism. Did like this motherfuckers know something
about me going on.

Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
So yeah, that was such a good moment at brian
x one.

Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
It's zero zero zero zero x one thoughts on Stanley
Powerable Ultra Deluxe version. Replayed it recently and it might
be one of my favorite games. New content is especially
great blind Spot for me, so go for it. Grub.

Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
Yeah, I've played a little bit of this, but I
watched I think it was Voidberger did a video on
this on Giant Bomb, and I watched that and it
really won me over and I was.

Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
Like, I should play this, So yeah, it's it seems
like the way that it commentates on itself and on
games is quite impressive. So yeah, definitely people should check
that out.

Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
Absolutely. At let's say sixty three, I am so sorry, Grubb. J.
Blow said Witness slash Island was partly inspired by myst
in the Keep by an overturned ashcart is a hit
Missed falling Man logo can't wait for ribbon.

Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
I mean even at the time, having never played Missed,
I knew I could just tell the Witness was one
of those one of those games inspired by that. I
think Witness is my my most the largest gap between
my appreciation for the game and my appreciation for the
man kit.

Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
Yeah, I guess it's just a cat.

Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
Yes, I knew I had heard before that. Jonathan Blow
was inspired was partly inspired by Missed. I am also
a Patrion supporter of The Venerable h Bomber guy Uh
and if you have a Patreon subscription to him, he
has an exclusive video on his Patreon where it's an
hour and forty minute uh Missed review in his style,
and he talks about how Jonathan Blow was partially inspired

(01:09:45):
by Missed and how that just proves that he didn't
understand Missed because he got the wrong.

Speaker 1 (01:09:50):
Impression from it.

Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
Uh So, I'll I will if I have that link
laying around here somewhere, if if you want to watch it, and.

Speaker 1 (01:09:58):
I love you. Yeah, this part of them as well,
I've never watched that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
I do wonder like what impression people get from the Witness,
because people played the Witness and I think I saw
a couple of videos early on and assume that was
the thesis of the game, and.

Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
It's it's not. But whatever, I'm not here to protect
or defend Jonathan Blow. Whatever, you can go to hell.
Sure sure sure?

Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
Uh At Cody Bishop seven five six new RoboCop DLC
is Goat. I loved Rogue City. I thought it was
a guilty pleasure games, and I have a meaning to
get to the DLC, So I'm glad to hear that.

Speaker 1 (01:10:28):
Yeah, this made me want to go back and like
really play Rogue City.

Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
When that game was out, I was like on vacation
and everyone else that John bonm was covering some I'll
handle some other stuff and I'll go back. Never did
this DLC happened. He's like, I should go back to
the original game. And then I heard the DLC is okay,
But some people seem to like love it. So if
I'm super into it now I have even more to play.

Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
I believe the DLC is called unfinished Business, which just fits.
It fits you look at that good stuff, uh at
Cody Bishop seven five six back again. So we should
remove all uncomfortable scenes from movies. This reminds me of fundamental,
fundamental Christian groups trying to ban LGBTQ movies in the seventies. Yes,
it is very much that it is a moral panic. Yes,

(01:11:09):
this is another a moral panic. It is a moral panic.
It's the same guy who got in the eighties. In
late eighties made it so that radio and television wasn't
protected by the FCC because he heard something on the
radio that he didn't like, and he happened to be
a pastor in Mississippi with a big fucking mouth, and
for some reason, the FCC listened to him, even though
he could have just as easily turned back to his
Christian rock station or turn the damn thing off. But nope,

(01:11:31):
that's what he did, and we're just right in the
same goddamn place we always are. It's very frustrating. I
wish these people would get a goddamn life anyway. Blake
Merritt thirty two oh five back again, should have specified
my release date super chat was for S two switch
to Switch three. Yeah, I have way too much to
play on PS five. I just want my next switch

(01:11:52):
to games to look forward to MP four Metro Prime
four with the eyes emoji. Yes, that is the one.

Speaker 1 (01:11:58):
That's I mean, that's the big question.

Speaker 2 (01:11:59):
I think that's the reason people have some anxiety around
the Switch to is because what's going on with Metro
Prime before. And I think the reality is that game's
just coming out in November or December, so Nintendo's doesn't
feel an urgency to announce the release date. We all
feel it, but Nintendo's like God, so it's not coming
out too much later.

Speaker 1 (01:12:14):
Chill out, And I think that's all there is to it. Really.

Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
I will put a prediction right now, right in this
very minute, that Metroid Prime four will release for the
Nintendo Switch to on the twenty first of November. It
is the Friday before Black Friday, and that's where they
like to release their biggest games of the year. It's
where they've released Mario games traditionally. I think that's where
it's going to.

Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
Be, I say November twentieth, because Nintendo releases games on
Thursdays now.

Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
Or you just like to play the price is right
and want up me that too?

Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
Say yeah, exactly, you go over, you automatically lose.

Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
Yeah, you lose at Marcus zero seven to seven. A
hell yeah, Jeff, play MGS two P.

Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
You know there is is that you said that correctly
because you said p nest because there was a little
break in the microne, just like there is in the
super chat. So that's pretty pretty impressive. That just shows
your theater skills there a little bit there.

Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
It is, Mike. Admittedly the microphone broke when the brim
of my hat hit the.

Speaker 2 (01:13:17):
Even even more perfect. That's serendipity. Uh, I'm going to
play this game.

Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
I've always intended to play this game, so I will.

Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
Uh Dan h four dot four four seven one Kitchen
Dan is happy to see the rise of Jason Finelli.
Go birds.

Speaker 1 (01:13:29):
Yes, hey, shot, Kitchen Dan, that's a good name.

Speaker 3 (01:13:33):
I like that a lot more often I hear I
want to hear what the stories of Kitchen Dan Kitchen
Dan uh at Michael R. O'Leary, just throwing it out
there that Jason is a great hang in an uber
when you're leaving the GV house and headed to the
j W. That is great to hear that I did
not embarrass myself or fall asleep. Those things have happened

(01:13:54):
more than once at Chuck Toowski, some stranger checking in
on in the super last year sat here the penis
P three and one s messages are my fault. I'm
sorry for leaving this mushroom stamp on your venerable podcast.

Speaker 1 (01:14:08):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (01:14:09):
I don't think they would have it any other way.
I certainly wouldn't as a guest of the show. And Chuck,
if that's your legacy, well.

Speaker 2 (01:14:15):
Done, mate, Yeah, I mean it's It's definitely one of
the longer lasting community jokes.

Speaker 1 (01:14:20):
And we won't go away, so I'll accept it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
Looks like we got one more super chat and we'll
do this one and then we'll take a break.

Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
Oh at JD Dash cav Finelle versus back Lare and
Will of Fortune, who wins that's such a good idea.

Speaker 1 (01:14:34):
Actually, like to play one of the video game Wheel
of Fortunes and make back of our play.

Speaker 3 (01:14:39):
Okay, get this work back oflre Will Fortune Family Edition
and my mom will verify this wille Fortune Family Edition
or anys taught me to read.

Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
Really, that's awesome. I one thing, one thing I want
to do on John Baum has always been surprise competition.
Like just be like, hey, Backlar, Dan, Mike, to see
you guys in discord real quick. You guys have like
an hour and like not tell them that suddenly they're
on a stream and they're playing a game and they
have to compete against one another. I want to do that,
but we're all very busy right now, so it's been

(01:15:10):
hard to set up. But maybe the first one should
be you're waiting for them as the Wheel of Fortune
champion and they all have to take you down, and
this could be back of Our's moment to prove himself
better than the rest of these Will Fortune slubs.

Speaker 1 (01:15:21):
Schlubs.

Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
You know you know you call that segment. Please tell
me what flash bomb?

Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
Yeah, let's do it. Let's make it. Okay, I'll get
to work. Everybody I got, you know, I'm gonna do
and I'm gonna make it real, going to my trello.
There we go, and then out here I'm gonna write
down I'm a fancy man and a cool guy.

Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
All right, there we go. All right, I go for it.
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (01:15:55):
We're going to take a break. When we come back,
we are going to do our our special segment of
the Mount Rushmore of video game Ballers, video game athletes
in any form, the most famous, most important, most emblematic
dudes and ladies of that concept.

Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
We'll come back and talk about that right after this.
All right, we're back.

Speaker 2 (01:16:19):
We are gonna do our special segment. It is the
Mount Rushmore video Game Ballers. As I explained Jason Finelli,
I figured, like, hey, we like sports this and I
like sports video games. I figured you probably played enough
sports video games also, like at a certain point the
people that are going to go up on the Mount
Rushmore of video game ballers, like most people have played

(01:16:40):
the games that contain those characters. Like there's a lot
of just obvious ones, I think, but I'm ready to
talk this out and see if there's any surprises. Do
you think that do you want to like lay out
any ideas of like what this should mean. Do you
have like in your heart of hearts, like who, like
what kind of character should be on the Mount Rushmore
of video game ballers.

Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
So I think there's two ways you can go about this.
You can go with famous real world athletes who tore
shit up in the video games they were in yep.
And I think you can go with original video game
characters who are also playing a certain sport, like if
when we get to the podcast producers, the very first

(01:17:19):
thing that came up, I think is a brilliant selection.
I don't know if it's going to make the Mount Rushmore,
but I think saying Titius from Final Fantasy X, who
played blitz ball that time, people wouldn't think that, But
it's a great idea because blitz ball is a very
cool part of that game, a good side quest side

(01:17:39):
game in that game. And I think that that's so
we can be of two ways here. I don't think
we're going to make two different Mount rushmorees. I think
we're going to have to cut it down to four.
But if we get two from one side and two
from the other side, I think that's a good marriage.

Speaker 1 (01:17:55):
It could work out that way. It's going to be
challenging because there's just going to be so many big
names from the real world. I think that will take
a lot of space.

Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
And there's even like a couple from dedicated sports games
that aren't real that I think have a chance of
being in there. But where should we start in your opinion, Oh,
we should start with Bo Jackson. Yeah, I think Bo
Jackson kind of is just gonna be a tough one.
I mean, it's the George Washington of this category.

Speaker 1 (01:18:19):
I really do think. Yeah, I do think he is.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
That.

Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
This is both Bo Jackson from Technobil Super Techno to
Techno Super Bowl. He's been both right, but he's definitely
in Technobile. Bo Jackson was unstoppable in those games, and
to the point where it became like a meme. Before
there were memes of people just being like, yeah, you
play Bo Jackson and you just run over everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:18:39):
Uh you just went and you just yeah, you just win.
He was literally unstoppable in a lot of senses in
that game. And I think so when people think of
a video game.

Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
Sports superstar, most people do still save Bo Jackson first,
to the point where you know, just I'll go there
real quick. Dan Fiasco says bo Jackson Technobile, the great
of all time. That was the first response from the
community when we ask them for their input.

Speaker 1 (01:19:04):
As it should be. I think that's correct.

Speaker 3 (01:19:07):
I have a feeling now we're just choosing three slots
at this point. I think the first one's pretty much
locked down already.

Speaker 1 (01:19:12):
Yeah, I think so as well.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
Let me I had a list of stuff here on
me grab it real quick. Just help me with my
faulty memory, said it's not on. I keep this stuff
and keep someone search for real quick. There's one hang on,
let me get through this, okay. From Backyard Baseball, Sanchez Sanchez,

(01:19:44):
I think is actually another one that has a really
strong chance of being on.

Speaker 1 (01:19:49):
This that final list.

Speaker 3 (01:19:51):
That guy is an absolute monster. It's in backyard in general,
but Pablo Sanchez is the one h when you think
of backyard baseball, recent people have played backyard baseball may
not think that, especially if you watch GDQ. If you
have not watched the Backyard Baseball at GDQ, I highly
recommend you do so. It is fantastic. But yes, Pablo

(01:20:14):
Sanchez is absolutely undeniable as part of the video game creation,
Baller I think I think that it's gonna be another
hard one to knock down.

Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
He was like so much better than all the other
characters in the game. That's like the whole idea. And
then that carried over to a lot of other backyard games,
but definitely Backyard Baseball was his heyday for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:20:37):
Yes, yes, Now going back to real people in crazy
video games, this one might be a tough sell because
of real world reputation, but I think Michael Vick from
madd In two thousand and four is also a crazy
crazy pick.

Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
Yeah, so Michael Vick is definitely the next one I
was thinking of as well. And now, yes, the reputation
is he got put in prison for dog fighting, actually
fighting little dogs. My stance on this often is if
you don't ever want to forgive someone, I don't think
I forgive him, But if you don't ever want to
forgive someone for doing something like that, yeah, that makes
a ton of sense. At the same time, someone does

(01:21:17):
something illegal, goes to prison, does their prison term, comes out,
and doesn't do it again. I try to lean in
the direction of not not necessarily forgiveness, but the ability
to believe in rehabilitation to a certain degree, and so
I don't want to pretend they don't exist if they
do their time after like doing the crime.

Speaker 1 (01:21:36):
So I think that's gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:21:39):
I might draw a line there between Michael Vick and
Mike Tyson because Mike Tyson's crime is a little bit
more heinous even than that. So Michael Vick is on
the okay side of this line, I think. And if
you get mad at me, I understand. Yeah, So Michael
Vick is up there for now. He was just so
dominant in that game, and it made it was broken,
but in the way that like Bo Jackson was broken,

(01:22:00):
but for for three D Madden Football games, and that
means it was really fun and a really different way
to play that game, to the point where it's like
that was one year's game was Michael Vick was everything,
and then the next year's game, we're like, defense is back, guys,
we're gonna do defense to getting Madden. It's a different
game than last year. I remember thinking like, oh, that's

(01:22:20):
very funny that.

Speaker 1 (01:22:21):
I go, we have to pay attention to defense now
after making offense so much fun in that game.

Speaker 3 (01:22:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, And it was. It was fascinating. In
the Amazon documentary, it's in the game to hear them
talk about that era of Madden and how it was
a complete like mistake that that happened, and it just
went off on like this crazy like that. The the
competitive scene was completely dominated by him. It was just
a wild, wild time. So yeah, I would understand the

(01:22:47):
apprehension if he gets knocked off, but I do think
he needs to be in consideration.

Speaker 1 (01:22:52):
Yeah, I'm like, I'm trying, like I got like a
bunch of guys kind of in the same place of like, Okay,
so Bo Jackson clearly just out standing in the real world,
but in a video game because his character was sober powered.

Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
Saying with Michael Vick, there are like a couple of
people who had like so many video games dedicated to themselves,
and that's like Ken Griffy Junior and Kobe Bryant and
a couple a couple others.

Speaker 1 (01:23:17):
But maybe those are the two that come to mind
first for me. Do you have anyone else like in
that category that you consider?

Speaker 3 (01:23:22):
Uh, I know it's ballers, but are we considering sports?

Speaker 1 (01:23:27):
Yeah, in sports, all sports?

Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
Yes, Wayne Gretzky, well yeah, Wayne, yes, okay, yes, yes,
those were really well and.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
He was he was absolutely out of his gordon that game.

Speaker 1 (01:23:41):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
Yeah, So it's like that those are the like the Yeah,
I think there would be those three I would consider
for that spot, and not that that spot is guaranteed
to get on the Mount Rushmore. But like of those three,
I I think I might lean towards kN Griffy.

Speaker 1 (01:23:54):
But that's definitely some bias of playing a lot of
those games as a kid.

Speaker 3 (01:23:58):
No, I think that's the one too. I think even
if you were to ask someone who hasn't played games
in a long time, after Bo Jackson and even Michael Vick,
who's next, it would be Ken Griffy. So no, I
would be I would be with you on that one.

Speaker 1 (01:24:12):
There.

Speaker 3 (01:24:14):
I'm gonna stick with baseball here for a second, and
I'm going to name someone who it technically fits both
sides of this argument, and I'll explain why. The name
is John Dowd, Okay, John Dowd, co O N Dowd.
He was in He was dominant in MVP Baseball two
thousand and five. He is the stand in for Barry

(01:24:36):
Bonds because Barry Bonds wanted to license his own likeness
and did not allow them to use him in their game.
So John Dowell, who was a producer on the MLB
Baseball two thousand and five game, they used his name
with this generic player and what happened in MLB in
two thousand and four, which is what took its what

(01:24:58):
MVP two thousand and five took its inspiration from what
happened that year.

Speaker 1 (01:25:02):
Do you remember? That sounds about the time that we
were getting a home run Chase runs from.

Speaker 3 (01:25:11):
So he comes into this game as the best hitter
in the league and it's not even him but John
Dad MLB two thousand and five. That's that's like a
dark horse, sort of like slipping of the radar.

Speaker 1 (01:25:20):
But I like hearing that. I didn't realize that that's
what they did for that game.

Speaker 2 (01:25:23):
I didn't play that game, but there's a there's a
lot of examples of that, Like Michael Jordan very infrequently
allowed himself to be licensed for video games, so there
was often standings for him.

Speaker 1 (01:25:34):
God, I think it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
Was what was there a stand in Philly quarterback in
Super Technobile.

Speaker 1 (01:25:40):
I feel like it was just.

Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
Eagles Da Cunningham. Yeah, that's Randall Cunningham exactly. Yes, and
he was actually pretty excellent in that game.

Speaker 3 (01:25:48):
Yeah, he was.

Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
He was. It was awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:25:50):
Yeah, ninety of the people in in in like the
past day, the winning eleven days where she was all
standings because for for Yes players, you couldn't get any
any likeness that the old days. People reminded like Maradona
wouldn't live it. So they have a random guy every
time that was just him. She's a different name, mister

(01:26:12):
stays Christian.

Speaker 1 (01:26:15):
I want to what we have you talking here.

Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
I do want to ask you, is there a standout
like Lionel Messi in a game like, oh, he just
completely dominates this game.

Speaker 4 (01:26:26):
Well, Lionel Messi for sure, but I would say, uh,
like iconic. I think iconic. I remember from like the
cover of the game for for FIFA he was no
sorry for winning Leone, he was ree. I remember it's
just in my in my eye list I close my
eyes said, I see that that that cover.

Speaker 1 (01:26:45):
For really, Yes, I know what you're talking about. That one.

Speaker 4 (01:26:50):
He's like and he's one of the greatest old times.
But like in that game I remember that game, she was,
that game being that game and him being that in
that game she was, which has so many good memories,
is like of a time.

Speaker 1 (01:27:03):
I'm gonna put Wane Gretzky back up here.

Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
Actually, Uh, let's see Wayne Gretzky is gonna be the
hockey player. It's like people are mentioning Mario Lemieux for
NHL ninety four.

Speaker 1 (01:27:12):
He dominated that, and that's true.

Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
But that game is just all around great and you
could played a lot of as a lot of teams
in there and have a really good time, including as
the La Kings with Wayne Gretzky, and it would be fantastic.
Or I think they might have had a Gretzky stand in,
but still, all.

Speaker 1 (01:27:26):
Right, do you have anything else? Yeah, any anyone else
you want to throw up there?

Speaker 5 (01:27:30):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:27:31):
Do we put Tiger Woods from his own?

Speaker 2 (01:27:33):
I think we yes. I think we probably do put
Tiger Woods up there. In fact, I think he stands
a pretty decent chance of making the final four. Okay,
he's so like he dominated an entire multiple generations of
a sports game genre that was relatively.

Speaker 1 (01:27:49):
Huge at that time. Uh. And it's like you kind
of can't imagine golf games without.

Speaker 3 (01:27:54):
Tiger Woods, right right? That boy here is his brock
lessener in every game. I'm not gonna on any of
our lists. He was nuts and here comes the pain.
That is definitely true. Another person brings up in chat
poke nine to five one three brings up fighting baseball.
Do you know about this?

Speaker 1 (01:28:14):
No.

Speaker 3 (01:28:16):
One of the baseball games was when it was sent
over to Japan, they used a Japanese game designer had
to make up a bunch of American names.

Speaker 1 (01:28:26):
So these are some of the Yeah, I love every
single names.

Speaker 3 (01:28:31):
Yeah, Mike Truck sleeve, mcdikaell, mcdeve, McDill is my best one. Yes,
that's my favorite. I'm always I've always been partial to
add atoly smorn. That one's that's very good.

Speaker 1 (01:28:43):
I want to get I want to get a sleeve
mcdiicall jersey.

Speaker 2 (01:28:46):
In fact, we should, we should sell sleeve mcdiicaell jerseys
in the Giant Bomb store.

Speaker 4 (01:28:50):
Is not like a name that kid Field kid when
they did that, A little.

Speaker 1 (01:28:55):
Bit like that.

Speaker 2 (01:28:55):
That list, that roster of names sounds a lot like
the Key and Peel a sketch, but but for like
what Japanese people thought white names.

Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
Were in the eighties, which is a very funny concept.

Speaker 3 (01:29:08):
This one is Scott and the last name is spelled
like Bork, like Ray Bork. But it's the letter D
in the beginning, so it's Scott Dork Scott.

Speaker 1 (01:29:16):
Yeah. I think people also looked.

Speaker 2 (01:29:19):
I think a lot of these names are like one
off from hockey players. They like took North American hockey
players and adapted their names and changed them slightly, and.

Speaker 1 (01:29:29):
They changed like the wrong letters, and a lot of cases.

Speaker 3 (01:29:31):
And basketball players. Is Raoul Chamberlain's Oh yeah, yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:29:37):
Yeah, wow, man, that's good stuff. Okay, let's let's talk
about a couple of others real quick. Tony Hawk. Tony
Hawk is just kind of like iconic athlete for the
entire extreme sports genre, kicked off the extreme sports genre,
which was bigger than a lot of other sports games
for a very very long time. And he's also now

(01:30:00):
I stood the test of time by being able to
come back and recapture a lot of that magic. I
think he's close. I think he's that we're worthy of consideration.
I'm gonna put him on the short list.

Speaker 3 (01:30:09):
Yep, I'm fine with that. I feel like we might
need to be We have a lot of real people.
I think we might start thinking of.

Speaker 1 (01:30:19):
Well, okay, let's let's get this.

Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
Maybe the silly one, by the way, Mario because Mario's
Mario's got a game for every sport except for hockey.

Speaker 1 (01:30:29):
So that's true.

Speaker 2 (01:30:32):
So any like maybe one of the greatest bowlers of
all time when you consider it.

Speaker 3 (01:30:36):
Yeah, he's been bowling for almost forty years now. I
guess we can put him on there.

Speaker 1 (01:30:41):
I'm not putting Mario on the on the Mount Rushmoor
of video games, but I.

Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
Think there's a better Nintendo representative.

Speaker 1 (01:30:50):
Who do you have?

Speaker 3 (01:30:52):
That's WE Sports Matt. Uh wait, but the bald the
bald I think he's African American black boxer. Oh right, okay,
who would you whip your ass at the hardest levels
of we boxing? That might be WE Sports Matt might
be one to consider.

Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
Was it one or two t's and WE Sports Matt?

Speaker 3 (01:31:15):
I think it's Matt. We do Matt two t's and
then in parenthes, we Sports I think would be the
best swing We.

Speaker 1 (01:31:20):
I like WE Sports Matt. That's even better Sports Matt. Yeah,
it's like it's full legal name. Oh yeah, it's good.

Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
Point Willow Davis Walawigi was literally made for a sports game.
Who's made for Mario Tennis? At the so Mario would
have a doubles partner that's true.

Speaker 4 (01:31:36):
Cant it down and then delete it right away.

Speaker 2 (01:31:39):
Yes you uh you know what happen, Christian. I even
I just forgot who we were even talking about. That's
how much I've deleted him for my brain. So let
let's go to check the discord real quick. We'll just
get a couple of inputs here. Okay, sure the switch
well five, says Daisy. Uh oh, look we sports Matt

(01:32:00):
right there from met Lauren. Okay, a chance, Tommy pencils
as he has wont to do, says leisure suit Larry
from What Dreams Dry Twice. There you go, Hamming of Texas,
says discman from wind Jammers.

Speaker 1 (01:32:16):
Two.

Speaker 3 (01:32:16):
Oh hell yeah, look look at that venture bro villain looking.

Speaker 2 (01:32:21):
Yeah, that's exactly what he looks like. Input name here
says a decked out Honda Civic from Civic.

Speaker 1 (01:32:28):
Type r O. Wait, I know I got to hang
on here we go?

Speaker 3 (01:32:31):
Can we get rs?

Speaker 1 (01:32:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:32:33):
That's literally what I'm writing right now. It's Toyota yaris h.
All right, we're on the same way, same wave length,
screaming Matten does say. Michael Vick from Matten four is
up there with Bo Jackson for most op football players.

Speaker 1 (01:32:47):
In gaming.

Speaker 2 (01:32:48):
That's right, Matt says, two K sixteen Steph Curry literally
forced them to change how three point baskets were calculated.

Speaker 1 (01:32:55):
That's wow. There's probably a world in which he does
make it on this list.

Speaker 3 (01:33:01):
Villain we pay more attention to basketball and unfortunately.

Speaker 1 (01:33:04):
Exactly Uh villain Max is Augustus Cole.

Speaker 3 (01:33:09):
Oh right, Coltrain.

Speaker 1 (01:33:12):
That's that's a that's a pretty good one. That's a
great one. Okay, I'm gonna write him down. Let's see here.

Speaker 3 (01:33:19):
Every time every time we talk about him. Back when
I worked in gaming retail, the one one of the
guys we would work with would always bring up terrible
Terry Tate office linebacker.

Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
Huh you killed a Joe? Make some boat? Claim the guy,
oh Golden Chilling who made video games and.

Speaker 2 (01:33:40):
Has his the Ars technical story here about his failures.
Blaze Blaze NOAs is Tiger Woods. Uh that sounds about right,
James Pie says Glover, who is literally bouncing a basketball,
So yeah, a fantastic baller.

Speaker 1 (01:33:55):
Ali Miracle says Congo. Congo is a secret character in
NBA Jam Tournament Edition. Oh right, the monkey. I remember
people in life this character. Now we did not mention
the multitude of secret characters in NBA. Jam, does Mark
make this list?

Speaker 4 (01:34:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
You want to talk about not being forgiven Bill Clinton
on this list?

Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
Oh? Yeah, you're right, he should go right to the top.
We forgive you Bill Clinton. No, yeah, Bill, Bill Clinton.

Speaker 3 (01:34:23):
Kid, that just the caveat No yeah, go ahead, no, no, no,
go ahead, keep going.

Speaker 2 (01:34:32):
Uhlkah, Dylan says Griff of Griffball fame. Fair enough, okay,
Keywork says literally NBA ballers?

Speaker 3 (01:34:41):
Is that is Stefan Marbury?

Speaker 1 (01:34:43):
Yes, Stephan Marberry? Right? What was the the one that
had Chauncey Billups on the cover? Was that in one
of the NBA Showtime games? I can't remember.

Speaker 3 (01:34:52):
Maybe maybe let me see, let's see. Uh, you should
have had that ready for Detroit. Brain over here, Christian?

Speaker 1 (01:35:00):
Who is this? Am I looking at?

Speaker 4 (01:35:02):
What's his name for? Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:35:05):
You kidd me?

Speaker 4 (01:35:05):
I like Pokemon, but I'm not an expert.

Speaker 3 (01:35:08):
Slash Blue from Pokemon your first one?

Speaker 1 (01:35:11):
Okay? What makes him a baller? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
He throws poke balls? Oh my god?

Speaker 1 (01:35:16):
All right, warden Cliff says, Pablo Sanchez. There it is Zuel?
Is that beef tank? Wait? Is beef Tank from from
What's his Name series. What does Beef take from? I
don't know that. I love the name is that? Is
that John Boyce's character. I like you take a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:35:41):
Oh, I like Beef taking a whole lot.

Speaker 1 (01:35:43):
Yeah. From Breaking Madden. Yes, Breaky Madden is fantastic.

Speaker 3 (01:35:46):
Okay, Oh, I watched a lot of Secret bas with
John boll but I haven't watched that one yet.

Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
Uh okay, Tan says Cactoir my favorite basketball player.

Speaker 1 (01:35:56):
Uh yeah, that's right. This is DS three on three
basketball game. Low Rule has the cover art art character
from Drag and Drive. There it is clicks got JACKI
Wilseon Wilson from Jockie Wilson's Compendium of Darts, which has
the best cover art of all time. Doominal Crossing has

(01:36:17):
Mario There you Go dunking in NBA Street Volume three.

Speaker 2 (01:36:21):
He's been in everything e zipsys Iss Bugs, Bunny from
Looney Tunes, b Ball on Super Nintendo. But no Goku rules,
which doesn't make any sense because there's a lot of
go cues on here. But if you're a real sports athlete,
I guess this doesn't matter. No, no Go Goku rules
don't apply here. This one just feels like cheating because
it's a movie adaptation. You forgot a line there, and

(01:36:44):
then he says, what other sports game allow you to
cream pie? Opponents always be clothing slash Corgi also says Mario,
and that does it from the community input.

Speaker 1 (01:36:57):
Okay, so we have our short list.

Speaker 2 (01:36:59):
It is boj Pablo Sanchez, Michael Vick, Ken, Griffy Jr.
John dowd Wayne Gretzky, Tiger Woods, Tony Hawk, We Sports,
Matt Toyo, Toyota Yaris, and Augusta Coltrane.

Speaker 3 (01:37:13):
Augustas Cole.

Speaker 2 (01:37:14):
Augustus is Augustus. That's what I meant, Augustus Coltrane. Okay,
where do you Let's just bold bo Let's yeah, bold
bo Jackson and you can probably bold Pablo too. Honestly, Yes,
that sounds right to me. Okay, so that means that
means we have two slots left. What are you thinking,
Jason Finelli?

Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
And we have one of each real world person who
dominated en video game created. So we we are doing
if we're going for the two and two?

Speaker 1 (01:37:49):
Oh god, I can't tell you what I'm liking right now?

Speaker 3 (01:37:56):
Is is cool?

Speaker 1 (01:37:58):
I like yeah, I like Coltrane.

Speaker 3 (01:38:02):
I like Coltrane, But I think I would put We
Sports Mad above Coltrane just.

Speaker 1 (01:38:07):
Okay, like, no, love that too, all right, Okay that
sounds in.

Speaker 3 (01:38:11):
Coltrane is a is a football player, but known for
a shooter and being a crazy But we sports Matt
punched your face in and boxing it was sports Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:38:20):
Yeah, his creds are more real. I like that.

Speaker 3 (01:38:23):
Okay, yeah, if so, If it's me, I'm saying as
much as Michael Vick was dominant and Madden, I think
I like your Tony Hawk arguments. So Tony Hawk and
we Sports Matt.

Speaker 1 (01:38:33):
Yeah, Tony Hawk is I'm like trying to look at
the Yeah, it probably is Tony Hawk. God, he's so
important to an entire genre of sports and video games.

Speaker 3 (01:38:42):
And if people give you a ship for not putting
Michael Vick in, your argument for Tony Hawk is longevity
and the fact that he's able to go away and
come back. We can forgive him for Tony Hawk ride.

Speaker 2 (01:38:54):
Right, Yes, we forgive you Tony Hawk for what you've done,
your crimes against gaming.

Speaker 1 (01:38:59):
I think Tiger Woods is close. I also think like, yeah,
he's pretty close, but yeah, it probably is Tony Hawk.

Speaker 3 (01:39:08):
Yeah, I think it's I think it's Tony Home. Okay,
so some idiots would be like, Tony Hawk doesn't ball.

Speaker 1 (01:39:16):
Now we we just mean athletes. That's all we're talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:39:19):
If you if you, oh, somebody just did Eric Gi
what bull of skateboard though?

Speaker 1 (01:39:23):
Stop it.

Speaker 4 (01:39:25):
Of I got on the chat, so be careful what
you said to him.

Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
Okay, yeah, I got I have an army pointed at
chat right now. Okay, there we go. So then Mount
Rushmore of video game ballers, Tony Hawk, we sports, Matt
bo Jackson, and Pablo Sanchez.

Speaker 1 (01:39:45):
Does that sound right to you, Jason Bonelli? Sounds great?

Speaker 3 (01:39:48):
The only request I would make is if you put this,
when you put this on social media, add a line
honorable mention Toyota Yaris just but yeah, that's uh. I
think as soon as we that's awesome. But no, I
am happy with this list. We are leaving out a

(01:40:10):
big one in Michael Vick. I think I think that's
gonna be the one where people are like, what the
hell are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (01:40:15):
But it was close. He almost made it.

Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
It's a he would be. He would be the actual
fifth not to.

Speaker 2 (01:40:20):
And really the reality is it's like he's it's bo
Jackson again. It's the same it's the same thing that
with Bo Jackson. And you're not George bo Jackson's George
Washington on this list, and you're kind of hard for
you to be like, well, me too, it's kind of
go You kind of cancel each other out.

Speaker 1 (01:40:34):
A little bit, and then bo Jackson gets the favor
in that case.

Speaker 3 (01:40:37):
Philly Philly bias is not real. Pillow Toilet, I would
have put him on the list.

Speaker 1 (01:40:42):
I was biased.

Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
Okay, mount Rush, you know, I'll do this while we're
on the break. We are gonna go on a break.
We're to come back talk about what we've been playing.
We're going to wrap up the super chats, and then
we're gonna get out of here.

Speaker 1 (01:40:55):
We'll be right back after this.

Speaker 2 (01:41:00):
We are back and we're celebrating Beef Tank here on
game as the sides with me, Jeff Grubb and him
Jason Pinelli.

Speaker 1 (01:41:08):
Uh, Jason.

Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
We'll get to the super chats here in a second.
In the meantime, what have you been playing? Wrapped up
Dockey Kong Bonanza last weekend? And it ended fine, you know,
there was an ending. It was it was fine.

Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
It was all right. I don't think we're in I
think we're still in uh spoiler territory.

Speaker 6 (01:41:24):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:41:24):
So I don't think the game to spoil though, so yes, yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah, So I don't want to get too much
into it, but I highly suggest that if you're playing
Doc Kong Bananza, you see it through from there. I've
just kind of been aimless. There's some things that I've
been playing that I can't talk about for certain reasons.
They're looking for the next game to fill. Bonanzo the

(01:41:46):
Bonanza like the game that I play, and I think
it's going to be rage Bound. I think that's going
to be next for me. It's what I'm playing. I
really I want to play that, and then I'll lead
right into Shinobi, so I'm really excited for that one.
So I'll just playing both at the same time. Hearing
the Ninja Gaidan's only about twelve hours long, I don't
know how far you are in it.

Speaker 1 (01:42:05):
It's actually kind of long for a retro throwback to
an eight bit era game. Sure, sure, but everyone's saying.

Speaker 2 (01:42:12):
It's like it actually flies by, so I could see
that it's got relatively quick levels. You're gonna upgrade your
character and then the boss fights I think are gonna
be a little bit lengthy because they are difficult, and
so I think it's gonna be one of those ones
where like, all right, I overcame that can't wait to
use all my new abilities take on this next level,
and oh great, another tough boss fight.

Speaker 1 (01:42:32):
So yeah, twelve hours is where that game is sitting.

Speaker 3 (01:42:34):
According to most people right now, that's cool, But yeah,
I've really just been kind of aimless at the moment,
just kind of covering stuff, waiting for waiting for EVO,
and just like getting into that scene, seeing who the
big players are, looking at the couple of running stories
that I'm getting into for that. But we can talk
about that tomorrow on the mess I just or the

(01:42:56):
other mess I guess I should say. Yeah, I mean
it's I'm still in that weird like just finished a game,
waiting to pick up the next one. I want to
play Clear Obscure, I really really do, but I don't
know if I want to play that on console or
if I want to play it on the Legion go
and bring it with me. It's not on switch to yet.
That was one of the big disappointments from today's direct
that it didn't show up. So I do want to

(01:43:18):
get that in before the end of the year though,
because I feel like I'm going to have to know
about that for Game of the Year considerations, So we're
going to have to I'm going to have to figure
time out to get figure out time to play that.
Plus there's so much coming in August. We already talked
about Ninja gaid in the Shanobi. There's that mel You're
Solid Delta waiting in the wings as well. Yeah, and

(01:43:40):
that weird, that weird flux where waiting for things to happen,
waiting for a new game to play, if I even
bother with it, until the next review game comes in,
because that is the that is the difficulty, as we
talked about earlier, like we want to play a game
that's in our backlog, but then the next game we
have to talk about to stay current comes in and

(01:44:00):
we only have so much time where both family men
with children, that time is very easily absorbed. So I
just kind of sit here in this weird no current
game purgatory until I finally decide, yeah, I'm gonna play.

Speaker 2 (01:44:14):
Something, yeah, I yeah, got credits on Donkey Kong kind
of felt something similar, and it was like, all right,
I'll get expedition set up. And then as I was
doing that, we were talking in a meeting and it's like, hey,
everyone's gonna be gone this week. We tried to do
a Ninja guide and Rage Bound quick look. I'm like, oh, yeah,
I could start playing that right now. I'm glad I
did it. Is It's very good.

Speaker 4 (01:44:35):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:44:36):
You know, one of the words I like to use
for a game, I like snappy.

Speaker 2 (01:44:38):
Like you just feel like you press the button and
cool shit is happening immediately and it leads into the
next obvious move and you just get in the flow
of things. And I definitely notice I as a bad
habit with games where I try to do the thing
that isn't like the Path of Least Resistance of Oh
I'm just gonna play simply and ensure that I'm gonna
be safe in this game. I'm like, I want to

(01:45:00):
look and feel cool, and this game really facilitates that,
really makes that part of the experience of jumping around.
There's a huge I frame window for the role, and
so I'm constantly trying to dodge through attacks and stuff
like that and just feeling like a cool ass Ninja
and it works, and then you get in the boss
fights and you have to learn the patterns and it's

(01:45:20):
a very you know Mike Tyson's punch out from Soft
Coded for the boss fights, which is I think what
I want from boss fights these days is just take
that that you know instruction set and apply it to
your game as well. I almost like wish the Donkey
Kong bosses would have been more like that as well.
It's bosses should maybe more difficult and then give a
skip the boss option to people if they want, or

(01:45:42):
or a way where it like it tones it down.
If you want your game to be very friendly to
people and they could just select that from the menu
or something like that. But Ninja Gaid doesn't sort of,
you know, it isn't meek about its bosses. It does
get in your face and they are challenging. I'm really
enjoying that. The other thing that I have is it
just got delivered today and I've been kind of messing
around with it during this show, kind of fiddling with it.

Speaker 1 (01:46:04):
The eight bit dough, I don't know what the let
me see with it.

Speaker 2 (01:46:07):
If they have the name on the back here, the
eight bit DOUGH sixty four bluetooth controller. It is the
in A sixty four controller that they are putting out
for the Analog sixty four whatever they call the Analog
three D.

Speaker 1 (01:46:19):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:46:20):
So it has one analog stick on the left and
then six face buttons in A and a B button
and then C buttons and it's you know, so it
looks like an Xbox controller, but it has the button
layout and the button inputs of an N sixty four controller.

Speaker 1 (01:46:38):
And the dpad feels pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:46:40):
Eight bit dose dpads have been really solid for a
minute now, and I hope this one's just as good.

Speaker 1 (01:46:44):
But it feels really good.

Speaker 2 (01:46:45):
All the buttons feel cookie without being without having that
loud click, which I don't mind and know a lot
of people do, but I also don't mind if it's quiet.

Speaker 1 (01:46:53):
It feels really nice to press these buttons. One of
the reasons I've been fiddling with it the whole time.

Speaker 2 (01:46:58):
And it has the the N sixty four or sort
of concentric rings is that is that how you say that,
the sort of convex control. Yeah, the convex controller where
it's like really kind of digs into your thumb in
a satisfying way, and I like that as well.

Speaker 1 (01:47:12):
Gonna mess around with this a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:47:14):
I have a special dongle where I should be able
to connect this to my shoot in sixty four and
play with it using this. Oh, the analog three D
should be here relatively soon, so looking forward to really
messing around with this thing at that point, although I
can also just use it on an emulator on my computer.
Beyond that, though, I'm still playing Donkey Kong Got credits,

(01:47:38):
but I am trying. There's like postgame content. I kind
of just realized what that is. Like, it took me
a second that it's like go back underground and do
a thing, and I'm like, okay, I'm following the following
the exclamation point.

Speaker 1 (01:47:48):
Where is it?

Speaker 2 (01:47:49):
I finally found where it's leading me, and I'm like, okay,
so I'll do more of that. But as I've been
looking for that, I've been just kind of choosing a
sub layer at random and clearing it all out and
getting one hundred percent in it and finding everything, and that's.

Speaker 1 (01:48:04):
Been pretty fun.

Speaker 2 (01:48:05):
It is a game where, oh, they really did think
about the way everyone's going to be playing it.

Speaker 1 (01:48:10):
If you are just going to do what I.

Speaker 2 (01:48:13):
Originally did, which is all right, I'm gonna pick up
this controller and do what feels right, and that means
just punching my way through these levels and destroying everything,
getting to the next main objective, and then following those
bananas down the chute getting to the next sub layer
and doing the same thing. And it was almost just
like the game overtook me and just said, hey, unleash

(01:48:34):
the beast and start punching shit and destroying everything and
have a good time.

Speaker 1 (01:48:37):
And I did.

Speaker 2 (01:48:38):
Now that I've gone back and I'm playing it the
way some other people have been playing, which is, here's
a list of stuff to fine, here's a bunch of
tools to find all that stuff. Go ahead and check
everything off the list and say, oh, this is extremely
fun as well. This is also just as good of
a game this way as it is to get into
the rhythm of it and just unleash the monster inside.

(01:49:00):
So it's just like, oh, that's how you know you
have a team that really understands what they're making, has
full confidence over their ability to build a game in
two different directions and accommodate all those different.

Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
Kinds of play styles, and it's just reconvincing me that
this is one of the better games I've played in
a very long time.

Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
So yep, still loving Bonanza, just like picking up the
switch to as well and having a reason to play that.
And yeah, there's a ton of content, like I got
credits and this feels like I still have more than
fifty percent of that game left if I wanted to
keep playing.

Speaker 1 (01:49:30):
So very excited about that.

Speaker 3 (01:49:32):
I can echo about that about Bonanza. Today was the
first day I mentioned on the BombCast I wasn't going
to let my daughters play it until I finished it
because the check pointing is crazy. Today was the first
day they came home from camp and my older daughter
Lived said, hey, can I can I mess around and
Banza for a little while. I said absolutely, so, I'm
sitting here covering I'm sitting here covering Battlefield. I handed
her to switch too. She sat right here, and within

(01:49:54):
five minutes I heard, oh banana, and I'm like, oh,
hell yeah. She found one without me needing I help.
She got to the first post game objective you were
talking about and started that thing without me even needed to,
And she eventually got to the point where she's like, Dad,
I can't do this, Can you help me? I'm like, yeah, sure,

(01:50:15):
I picked it up and I play a little bit too.
But the fact that she was able to just mess
around do whatever she wanted. She was messing with all
the different bonanzas she was found that. I said, she
found that banana without me needing to help her. It
was it was really neat just to hear that going
on and for her to be able to pick it
up so fast. It really does, like you were saying,
speak to they thought of everyone when it came to

(01:50:35):
playing Bonanza, and right now as it stands, I think
it is my game of the year so far. I
know you said that on the BombCast as well. That
is with a big gaping hole in the backlog known
as Claire obscure. I do have to acknowledge that I
did play Blueprints. Though I did I didn't play it.
I did play it Blueprints and it is still up there,

(01:50:57):
so I do have that taken care of. But yeah,
it's it's very very good stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:51:03):
Uh real quick.

Speaker 2 (01:51:04):
In chat, I know Mike machia Chek in Chad is
saying show us your special dongle as a penis joke.

Speaker 1 (01:51:10):
I understand that. Yes, the real special dong on.

Speaker 2 (01:51:14):
It's a blue retro thing here, and you just think
you plug, you just you just plug it, right, and yeah,
I mean it's big because it's like, I have no
idea what's so big, but you you plug it into
the sixty fourth thing in the front and it's, uh,
it's self powered so that so it doesn't need like
a bad or anything like that, and then it just
enables you to connect the Bluetooth controller to to play

(01:51:35):
in sixty four games.

Speaker 1 (01:51:36):
And it works really well.

Speaker 4 (01:51:38):
Because with six six base face button, yes, like a
really good fighting game.

Speaker 2 (01:51:43):
That is one of the reasons I did get this pad,
was like thinking, oh, it would be cool to have
six face buttons. They are the spacing on them is
a little it's hard to tell by looking. The AMB
button is a little bit offset from the sea buttons.
The sea buttons are smaller, but I can easily hit
at the down and A button at the same time,

(01:52:04):
and the left sea button and the B button at
the same time. So I do think that there is
a way in which like this can totally work as
a fighting game pad if I needed it to. And
then of course it's like ab these buttons at the
same time like that. For a lot of fighting games,
that's like a throw command that should work just fine.
So yeah, if I'm playing a fighting game and I
don't want to get a leverless stick out, I'm going

(01:52:26):
to be using this.

Speaker 1 (01:52:27):
I think. Yeah, that's cool.

Speaker 2 (01:52:29):
Yeah, I'm excited to give it a try. Who knows
how how well it's gonna work, but I'm gonna give
it a shot. I play some Third Strike tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:52:35):
Yeah, she was released on you level less two fighting
in Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:52:40):
I know I need to holler at him or send
it to South America. We'll see, all right, Uh, let's
see Jason. Anything else you want to talk about her?
Should we get to these super chats?

Speaker 5 (01:52:53):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:52:54):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:52:54):
Watch EVO, Watch and support evo if you like fighting games.
Coulda be a hell of a weekend. I know you're
gonna see a lot of gameplay, a lot of gameplay
from the people that you want to see gameplay from.
Of Invincible verses. They've announced Marvel to Com. We talked
about X two x KO is gonna be playable there.
I believe they said today that more No, No, that

(01:53:15):
wasn't that was something else. So no, Marvel to con
is what I was thinking about. So, yeah, if you're
into fighting games, make sure you're paying attention to that.
Sunday will be a lot of announcements, panels. Tomorrow will
be a lot of cool announcements too, but good gameplay
all weekend. Make sure you support that. But no, I
do want to say that I am very appreciative that
you allowed me to do this with you, that you

(01:53:36):
trusted me with it. Of course, that Mike, that Mike
Minatti trusted me with it. I don't know about that guy.
But and this whole week BombCast, this uh, the talk
over will do mess game mess tomorrow. It's it's been great.
It's been great to have this little uh, this little
week of Finelle week. Let's call it an official Finelle week.
It's been that's awesome. And the fact that you've tolerated

(01:53:57):
me for this long has been very impressive. I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (01:53:59):
Yeah, it's the trust is the word.

Speaker 2 (01:54:01):
There's I love working with all the people I work with,
but I'm always like, uh, Jason just gets it. I
trust him, so I can just be like I don't
Once I say hey, can you be on a show,
and you say yes, I don't have to think about
it anymore because I know you're gonna get it and
come in with your great stuff, So no, I really
appreciate it. And for people who are missing Mike, he'll
be back next week. I'll be back for Last than
Last of the Ninten Dogs and all that. I'm definitely

(01:54:24):
someone that out of sight, out of mind in a
lot of ways, it's hard for me to even like
miss people. Mike is in that small pocket of people
where it's like, you know, my wife, my kids, and
Mike Manatti. I miss those people when they're gone. So
I'll be happy to see Mike again. Looking forward to
it up I think, I think, I think, Yeah, that's

(01:54:44):
just how it is. It's like Mike's become like family
to me at this point. He should be home tomorrow,
so he might show up on.

Speaker 1 (01:54:50):
UPF, but we'll see. He could also be very tired
from traveling.

Speaker 3 (01:54:53):
We'll give him a break if he needs it. Uh Okay,
let's do the super chats. Jason Cool, I'm on it,
uh Rito four three three two. This is for the
Man of the Hour finale, holding it the F down
this week. Thoroughly enjoyed having you on the shows across
the week. Man, thank you burrito, you are delicious. Ps
Ford new reading the chillin by the fire description, the

(01:55:15):
flow of the air, the thick wait, let's start again.
The flow of the air, the thickness of the wood,
and the angle at which it's placed, all intertwined.

Speaker 2 (01:55:25):
This game fucks yeah, that's just one of them dirty novels.
The check out at the grocery store right there.

Speaker 3 (01:55:32):
Yeah, really, holy shit. Tim Nicholas eight five two weight,
Welcome to Lincoln. They appreciate you, and I appreciate you
for doing it tonight at Tim Nicholas eight five two
eight Once again, how y'all gonna leave out Charge and Chuck?

Speaker 2 (01:55:45):
Okay, I I kind of feel like if I would
have remembered charge in Chuck, I might have put him
on that list because I love charging Chuck that much.
He would be really funny to see him on that list.
I oh, okay, I do feel bad, Chuck. Yeah, that's
a that's a that's that's an omission. You are right
to be amadgined.

Speaker 1 (01:56:02):
How we missed up. We did at about that too.
I know he loves charging tucksta He's going to see
that list in yell about it. Here we go.

Speaker 3 (01:56:11):
At Ali Marracle to get to your sponsored an evo
period Penis et cetera. Uh, sponsored an evo. I have
to oh you know what it did. It did a
long time ago.

Speaker 1 (01:56:22):
When was that? I mean I had to game was
like half nine ten something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:56:30):
I mean I know where I was when my then
girlfriend now wife's roommate bought a Yaris and I was like,
ah that like that three sixty game.

Speaker 1 (01:56:40):
Yeah, uh and that and she was living in Italian
village and Columbus at the time, So that must have
been like nine ten or something like that. Oh ten
Italian nine or ten. Yeah, you have an Italian village
in Columbus. Oh yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (01:56:55):
We lived right across from the Italian like Catholic church
and they would have a alien fest there and I
would walk out her front door literally walk ten steps
and be able to get Canoli's, like fresh Canoli's right there.

Speaker 1 (01:57:08):
It was great.

Speaker 3 (01:57:11):
That sounds amazing at Zombie pore in well, coming back in,
shout out Jason for killing on and everything he's been
on recently. He's the father who stepped up after Mike
left Grub for Greg Miller.

Speaker 1 (01:57:23):
That's right, and we now we got the daddy stepped up.
That's right, he went.

Speaker 3 (01:57:28):
He went out for milk at Disney World and never
came home. At Tim Nicholas eight five to eight once
again as an artist on Invincible check out the game.
That's right, Yeah, shots, that's so cool. Now is he
an artist on the comic just just the franchise in general?

Speaker 1 (01:57:50):
What I think? I think?

Speaker 3 (01:57:53):
Probably?

Speaker 1 (01:57:53):
But yeah I don't think. I don't think, yes exactly,
I'm not gonna blast anyone. Yes, so cool?

Speaker 3 (01:57:59):
And yeah, I actually I got a chance to play
Invincible Verses back at at some round summer game fest.
They actually brought me to Skybound in Beverly Hills check
out that game for an hour, and I liked what
I was.

Speaker 1 (01:58:11):
Seeing so far.

Speaker 3 (01:58:12):
So I'm curious to see how this new build will
be get new characters in there. And fighting games are
so back tag fighting games are so back.

Speaker 1 (01:58:23):
Again.

Speaker 5 (01:58:23):
I know.

Speaker 3 (01:58:23):
I keep talking about the storylines. I'm trying to tease
them for game mess, but they to keep spilling out
of me. The spoiling of the lead that two XKO
had I think is a big one. Oh yeah, two
they had a two three year window to get out
before this all happened, but Marvel Tocon completely ate its lunch,
and then a couple of days later, Invincible Verses like, yo,

(01:58:44):
I'm here too, and do not underestimate me. It's like, yeah,
those are The tag fighting scene is now very crowded
and it's awesome and I think it should just bring
it back Marvel versus Capcom four, let's go. Another one
came in from Brian x one. Why did Mike show
feet within two minutes of being on? Kind of funny?

Speaker 1 (01:59:04):
You know why?

Speaker 2 (01:59:05):
Because he wants to dominate wiki feed. It's been his
plan all along. He'll get there eventually.

Speaker 1 (01:59:09):
Greg Miller's gonna help him.

Speaker 3 (01:59:11):
Now, mikey Feet coming soon, damn it. Uh But yeah,
tag Fighters are back. It's it's it's really really cool
and and it'sible Versus is definitely up there too.

Speaker 2 (01:59:21):
But yeah, man, JD Cam's got one more for you,
says Finelle. Jeff hates pasta. That's not how I would
frame it. I don't hate pasta.

Speaker 1 (01:59:31):
I just don't like. It's not like my go to food.

Speaker 2 (01:59:34):
I've had good pasta before and I've enjoyed it, but
usually like I I don't I don't like creamy pastas.

Speaker 1 (01:59:42):
I like the you know, the red sauce and stuff
like that. That's good.

Speaker 2 (01:59:44):
Anything with a lot of spice is gonna win me over.
And not just hot spice, a lot of flavor. That'll
that'll be fine for me. It's just typically I get
a lot of bland Italian food around me.

Speaker 3 (01:59:54):
Okay, well then we just have to show you real
it talent food.

Speaker 1 (01:59:58):
And I've always welcome this. I do welcome this. Now.

Speaker 2 (02:00:00):
This did happen one time when we were in La
We went to this restaurant had a bunch of great
foods and they're like, we're gonna get this thing off
the menu and it's gonna be this Italian dish and
we got all this awesome food and everyone's like, grub,
you gotta try this. I tried it and it was
my least favorite thing that I ate that night. But listen,
you weren't my shirtpa on that. I trust you more
than those chuckle books.

Speaker 3 (02:00:18):
So yeah, we got That is the second worst Italian
related crime that's happened to me this week. The first one,
if you look in the comments, is the comments of
the BombCast or the live chat of maybe this morning,
someone called me Jesse Vittelli and then and then someone

(02:00:39):
corrected them and said, no, it's Jason Vittelli. And I'm
like the boy, you're right there, all right. I think
we're all caught up in super chats. Now that said,
you know, I'm fried. That was the fourteen hour day.
Something like that was longer than that. It's a big
long day. So what we're gonna do now is I'm

(02:00:59):
gonna hit this music.

Speaker 4 (02:01:01):
I just got an idea for people who wants to
watch evil. I'm gonna link Jason's article on that on
the video.

Speaker 3 (02:01:08):
And yeah, good idea.

Speaker 1 (02:01:11):
Put that into the description please in the episode notes.
I appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (02:01:14):
Jason Fonelli, thank you so much for hanging out with me.
Tell people where they can find you on the internet
and all that good stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:01:20):
Yes, I'm on Blue Sky at Jasonfanelli dot com, very easy,
big Man Finelle everywhere Else it's mostly video games, professional wrestling, Philadelphia,
sports magic, the gathering, and cute pictures of my kids
and wife doing fun family things. So if you like
all of that stuff, that's what you will find on
my social media as I try to make people laugh,

(02:01:40):
trying to make people smile, try to be a good overall.
You know, there's enough shit on the Internet, you don't
need it from me. I'll try to make it a
little happier game spot. I do a lot of writing
there MMRPG as well. Shout out to Joe Bradford, great
dude over there. Yeah, I mean, it's just doing the
work man, Like you said, long days, but well worth it.

(02:02:01):
My name is not Jackson Vacilly.

Speaker 2 (02:02:05):
But yeah, Michael Vick would use when he's getting tested
for venereal disease.

Speaker 1 (02:02:10):
My name is Jackson Vasili.

Speaker 3 (02:02:12):
I just want to echo one more time my appreciation
for you having me on here. It was great fun
and I'm cheers mate.

Speaker 1 (02:02:20):
Yep. Likewise, dude, I appreciate it, love having you on.

Speaker 2 (02:02:22):
We're gonna yep, we'll finish out the week of Games
Mornings with you tomorrow. Looking forward to that. Uh and
thanks so way back to normal next week, but we're
still gonna have plenty of Jason on in the future.
Everybody look out for that. Okay, let's see a couple
of things. Christian, is there a community game happening this week?
I haven't had a chance to check into that. They
did peak last week, and I had a good time
with that.

Speaker 4 (02:02:41):
I know, Pik was awesome. We had a lot of
time and we yeah, we're doing peak again.

Speaker 1 (02:02:48):
Okay, fantastic.

Speaker 3 (02:02:49):
Yeah, you know what it's gonna be to be even
better This week they added cannibalism.

Speaker 4 (02:02:55):
It's gonna gonna don't don't.

Speaker 1 (02:02:59):
Keep that on the download everybody. I'm gonna try to
make Giant Bomb play it again and we'll surprise them
with that. All right, everyone keep it quiet, all right,
all right, we're gonna get out of here. I have
a good one. Take care of yourself. Goodbye. This is
so good. Enjoy your gaming.

Speaker 4 (02:03:49):
For so long have fantasized about sucking their own dick.

Speaker 1 (02:03:54):
All right, we're out after that. That's good.

Speaker 4 (02:03:57):
It call your congressman.

Speaker 1 (02:04:05):
Ship. That's true.

Speaker 6 (02:04:06):
My god.

Speaker 4 (02:04:07):
I read on Blueski that apparently writing letters is really
good too, because.

Speaker 1 (02:04:13):
Yes, writing letters to congress people works, yes, that, but
to the to.

Speaker 4 (02:04:17):
The banks and to the payment press because they're like
financial institutions, they need to whenever they receive a letter,
they have to like, oh right, have a bunch of
like they have a bunch of stuff they had to
do with those letters to make it so it's like yeah,
we knowledge and stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:04:35):
Yeah, okay, interesting, okay, cool goodness?

Speaker 3 (02:04:39):
Hey, real quick, the super chats? Have they been being collected?
Was I supposed to do that?

Speaker 1 (02:04:43):
Or I got them?

Speaker 2 (02:04:44):
I'll read them because otherwise it'll be difficult for you
for you to read them, uh, the wrong one if
you want to spot for me in the back end.

Speaker 3 (02:04:52):
If they're in if you want to copy some over
so I can, I can split some.

Speaker 1 (02:04:55):
Doesn't matter, Yeah, I could.

Speaker 4 (02:04:59):
We can't make it if you if we may hit

if you boys are ready. Yeah, okay, great, cru all right,
I'm looking at you managing projects. One of the chat sets,

(02:06:24):
parsk makes it very doable, grub chuck.

Speaker 2 (02:06:26):
You know how I'm feeling about parsek right now. Keeps
breaking on me and now it's my computer's fault.

Speaker 1 (02:06:30):
But we'll see.

Speaker 4 (02:06:33):
Oh all right, you want to set up the podcast
producers and contributions.

Speaker 1 (02:06:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got it. It was kind of

my kid will not stop singing U the soundtrack to
K Pop Demon Hunter.

Speaker 2 (02:07:33):
Yeah, she's just like to herself, and she's got like
a really good voice. Like she's a much better singer
than I am in terms of like keeping a tune.
And so it's like, oh, this is like pleasant to
hear her singing.

Speaker 1 (02:07:44):
This so pretty good.

Speaker 3 (02:07:47):
You know, my kids running around the house singing.

Speaker 1 (02:07:50):
What's that?

Speaker 3 (02:07:50):
Would like to hear it?

Speaker 1 (02:07:52):
Oh? Yeah, please? Oh Zebra, that's playing on my head? One?

Speaker 3 (02:08:01):
Yeah, god, it's so good. That song is so good.
That's that's the five bonanzas, but the second best song

going on, that's what.

Speaker 2 (02:08:46):
I want browsers here to save our lives, thankfully. Okay,
let me kind of frame it up.

Speaker 3 (02:08:52):
A little bit better than I'm gonna be sol saying
the rest of the night. Sorry, guys, I shouldn't have
done that.

Speaker 4 (02:08:59):
I watch a little anime. We have the subs.

Speaker 1 (02:09:03):
What's that? What does that mean?

Speaker 4 (02:09:05):
I'm practicing Japanese?

Speaker 1 (02:09:07):
Okay, yeah, okay, cool, But I just.

Speaker 4 (02:09:12):
After thirty five years, I decided to finally learn the
language of the stuff that I watch the most, which
is anime, which is you know, maybe it's a long
time common.

Speaker 3 (02:09:26):
What do you like right now, Christian?

Speaker 4 (02:09:28):
Right now I'm watching It's pretty dark stuff, but it's
a Copies original scene is like a really sad anime.
I wouldn't recommend that to people if you like. And yeah,
the Summer U Dies I really like that, and the
usually like the big stuff like Dan the Dank Issue
number eight, that stuff. But yeah, I'm a fucking.

Speaker 1 (02:09:50):
Okay, that's right. Let's bring it back. I'm good to
go over here, all right.

Speaker 4 (02:09:57):
