Speaker 1 (00:27):
It's the Internet. You're busy. Let's do this. Welcome to
the Gamesticides podcast. This is the podcast where we decide
everything happening in the world of video games, so you
never have to think for yourself. I'm your host, Jeff
grub and with me is Mike Manati. In today's episode,
Battlefield six is happening, it's coming out, it's launching, the
baby was a pickment thing, and Mount rushmore of multiplayer
(00:51):
first person shooters. We will get to all of that
in due time. First, Mike, how are you doing?
Speaker 2 (00:58):
I think I'm okay. I feel like I should be sick.
I feel weird, but I don't feel sick, cause last
night I felt very sick. I felt the most like,
oh I'm getting sick. I've ever fell in my life.
Was just shivering uncontrollably for like ten minutes and had
a massive headache and then had a hot flash. It's
like it's like I went through the whole cycle of
a flu in a few hours and now I'm like fine,
(01:22):
which is strange. I don't know. I took a nap
before this, so I still like and that went fine,
So I don't know. Maybe it's maybe it's nothing, So.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
You're not like waiting for the other shoe to drop there.
You're just like maybe it went away, and you're you
sound still worried about it.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, I think because I am worried about that other shoe.
There might be a shoe still. It might be a
shoe somewhere dangling above my head.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Got to mind the shoe.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, it's gonna smack me in the face, but that's okay.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
I'm got shoe.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
House didn't blow up?
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Was that Christian? Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:48):
I said, shoe?
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah, the shoe of Damocles. Yes, it hangs heavy over
the head of our hero Mike Manatti. Hopefully he will
be able to escape unscathed. Yeah, I look, I'm feeling fine,
but I can tell the kids are like getting various
kinds of coals, the colds they got, the minati sneezing happening,
lots of sneezing constantly over here. Could be allergies, could
(02:11):
be something else. It is hard to tell. STEP's not
feeling good. She keeps saying she's not feeling great. So
I'm sure it will come for me as we we're
gonna go over. We got a little trip planned this
weekend for Steph's birthday, so I'm sure I will be
sick in time for that. Cannot wait. It'll be a
good time. But you know what, let me time. I'm
feeling good now, so let's have a good show and

All right, big topics of the week, Mike, you ready, Okay?
Battlefield six reviews they're in. This seems like the game's
(04:06):
doing pretty good, although you want to I guess the
talking point online. I've noticed this a little bit. IGN
separated the single player review from the multiplayer review. I
get it. I understand why you do that because there
are some people who just want to know how good
one thing is and how good the other thing is.
But it is one package, so people are like, this
is confusing. I don't know, did you see any of this?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
I did see any this, but now I hear about it,
I am it is like, yeah, that's weird, Like what
which one do they put on? Open crik? Do they
put both of them on there? Let them even out.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Right? Yeah? I mean, but.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
It's it's also Battlefield campaigns have usually been such a
nothing burger ever since Bad Company, no one has really
cared about them. It's easy to dismiss them even though
they're terrible, but they should still be judged on that.
They are, they still bother making them part of me.
I wonders why it seems like they could say themselves
a whole lot of trouble. It's like a lot of
(05:02):
traditional sabotaging, right.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Yeah, the original Battlefield didn't have a single player campaign,
right at least?
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Yeah, that's what Field didn't have. Yeah, that's what a
Field didn't have.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yeah, it got maybe maybe got dinged for that, and
that's why they put it in here. But personally, I
blame Mikey R O'Leary for this. It's all his fault.
He just pointed out that this is the way they've
been doing it for like seven years. I've definitely. I've
noticed it before. I do wonder like what has happened?
You know what it is. It's like the game's getting
good reviews from a bunch of other places, and then
I think their single player review was lower and like
(05:35):
shocked some people, and they're like, what's going on here?
It's just the single player I get like they so
they feel like the outlier here, and then then then
that's the excuse, so it becomes a talking point either way.
Battlefield five seems like it's doing just fine. I played
some of it today. I didn't do any of like
the traditional battlefield modes. I did like the close quarters
combat basically battlefield, but it's call of duty that was
(05:56):
that was fun. I had a lot of fun playing
that game that way. I was in there was some
other journalists, Yeah, some people that kind of went in
there and he was. They rescued me a couple of times,
which I appreciated. Came I was getting shot by the
one other human player on the other team because it's
a lot of bots right now. Christian, you've been playing
as well. These reviews sound good to you.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Yeah, I think there's there two They're too kind to
that single player because it's atrocious, is so boring, it's
such a waste of time. Yeah, to the point is like,
what do you even what is the point too?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
How long is it?
Speaker 3 (06:33):
It's not mentioned. It might be like, I don't know,
like three hours long. I have no idea. I lost.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
It's not that it's short. It's short, and it's the
sake on in Endy he tells you, hey, you want
to uninstall it?
Speaker 3 (06:47):
And I was like, hell, yeah, you know, and it's.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Still hell yeah, get off by hard drive. Yeah, it's funny,
it is.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
It is such a bad it's I don't know, for
people who wants to know what the story is issues
all of the sudden, NATO is it's not about America anymore.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
It's about NATO as a whole.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
It's about NATO. Yeah, about Rascal's dad. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
All of the sudden, these parks are Mada, This PMC
shows up and the country is It's like World War three,
but it's instead of being like, you know, I don't
know in the Neo Nazis versus No Neo Nazis NATO versus,
these parks are matter they're fighting for, like controlling the
security of the countries or whatever.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
The fuck.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
It's just so fucking it's bad. It's it's dumb and
it's boring, and you people shouldn't even check that.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
So yeah, I feel like the opening cut scene is uh,
kind of just made my eyes glaze over it. So,
oh my god, is so much nothing here? Uh yeah,
I mean people are gonna play this game with the multiplayer,
and that does seem like it's going to deliver. Yeah,
and I'm you know, like I said, I had fun
with that. Seems like these review scores are a good
place for this game to start. I bet it's going
(07:59):
to do excellent, just even despite like a Call of
Duty dropping a free week of Black Ops six the
day before this. I think I's supposed to spot to
be starting now, even though that's happening to try to
distract from Battlefield that that Battlefield does.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
Yeah, that's fine, what I was about to say. Yeah, Yeah,
I also played the multiplayer a lot, and I mostly
play against bouts and journalists, which are like kind of bugs. Yeah,
And yet what I was saying is I really like
the progression in this game. I don't know, I didn't
like Field. Yeah, it's just you if you like one
(08:37):
like one. I was about to say job, because I'm
thinking for a final fantasippeal. If you like one class,
you can choose play that class, and you would look
like a like a specialty for that class and not
gonna start really like that. If you like, if you
play in sniper and you are you're one of those
that instead of like just shooting from far away, you're
(08:57):
more like moving around guy, and and you might look
like as an upper rifle that is more like like
just more movable than just stationary. So it's yeah, it's
just really good, really good about that.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Yeah, I'm but I don't know how much I've been
into like a progress like the meta progression sort of
thing and a multiplayer shooter in like a very long time.
I remember loving it in Call of Duty four and
then being like it's really good, yeah, so new right
exactly yes, and then be like, Okay, they've replicated and
made this fun and many of the following games maybe
(09:36):
never the same magic because it wasn't Call of Duty four.
But I do feel like maybe I'm in the mood
for something like that, But of course I have to
dedicate so much time it's hard to hard to justify
something like that titan Fall two was. I did spend
a lot of time in that bread lunch, even more
time in titan Fall one.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Honestly, Yeah, tits amazing. But I played so much Tecndfall
one multiplayer.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Yep, good game. All right, let's keep going here. Into
says it's close to you Pickman videos where Nintendo picture
short films rather than a game or movie teaser. Mike,
you called it you basically exactly what you said. I
think we were like, would you kind of explain it
like that? I think we were all kind of on
board with like, oh, that could easily be what this is.
Let Nintendo stretch their legs with this movie studio production
(10:16):
company that they acquired. Yeah, so we should expect more
shorts from from them. So I guess how do you
feel about this? These first two really just one short
and where they go from here?
Speaker 2 (10:29):
I mean, the first one was fine. There was something
about it that's, like, you know, we said this, it's
so of that very specific Hollywood CG animated movie style
that it almost feels like it's zapped out a bit
of the nintendoness from Pickmen. Sure, even just even just
the human characters yeah, yeah, the human characters, especially even
(10:49):
just like the slight manufication of Pickmen. I don't know,
it was fine. It wasn't like a very ambitious thing,
you know, a cute thing with Pickman and a baby,
Uh sure, whatever, But I guess I'm curious to see
what they do with say, like a Metroid, right are, Like,
are they also making one that might come out around
my trod prime for I'm guessing not. But what would
(11:12):
their take on a Metroid style thing look like? Or
f zero or we just gonna kind of see more
of like the you know, kind of the more family
friendly stuff, the marios. I mean what it was a
look at these people are do with Zelda style shorts,
and I guess I'm kind of curious too, Like, Okay,
I think this is you know, them testing things out,
(11:32):
but what is the ultimate application of this stuff. Is
this so Nintendo can make their own in house movies
or is this to up the cinematics standards for their
video games. I'm so curious where this is all going.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Yeah, you know, it definitely has a different flavor than
those original Pickman shorts, which you know, had a very
interesting story to the creation, like Miamoto used flip note studio.
Is that on the re DS?
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Was that on the D like ds I was like
the d s I or something on the DSi, So
he might be that.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, and so he like storyboarded it out using that
and then had an external studio kind of make that stuff.
So he basically directed those those shorts. He basically like
storyboarded them out himself, or at least one of them.
Maybe maybe I think he did all of them though,
And it's like, Yeah, this doesn't necessarily feel like that.
It feels a little bit more like someone coming into
this space and being like, hey, we're going to make
(12:32):
one of these things in the style of a Hollywood
h CGI animation studio. Yeah. I think it's fun. I
think it's It's clearly something Nintendo did to get attention,
and it worked. I got a lot of attention. I
don't need this to be tied to a game. I
don't need this to be tied to a movie. I
really love those original Pickman shorts. Watched it a million
(12:54):
times with my kids. So I think it's fun that
Nintendo continues to be in this business. I just would
like to I don't I guess maybe I hope that
they hit a brisk pace of putting these things out,
and that would be, I don't know, a welcome thing
for me. Let's see here. And then Discord response to
claims that two million ID photos have been acquired by hackers.
(13:17):
They claim it's not quite exactly that number or government
IDs necessarily, but let's get into it. Alex Hopley Game Reactor.
As soon as age verification came out about people worried
about how their faces could be used not only by
companies and service providers, but by hackers and those that
might look to make a quick buck by stealing and
selling data. Now it seems we've seen the first crack
(13:39):
in age verification, as it's reported that were around one
point five terabytes of photos have been stolen from a
third party customer support system that Discord was using zendesk stuff.
And these are the photos that like people would take,
like selfies to prove that their face matched their ID.
So it is still identifying, you know, a photos or whatever,
(14:00):
probably something people could do something with, you know. The
Discord does not admit that government IDs themselves were involved
in this, but still there's a lot of other various
kinds of idan information. Hey, I hate this. This is
something we have to we've started having to deal with
in Ohio. Have you like seen that Blue Sky thing
(14:23):
when you go into your DMS being like, hey, verify
your age. I wonder if that's something that depends on
your ISP.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Yeah, I don't know if I've seen that for Blue Sky.
I'm trying to feel like if I've seen that or somewhere.
But yeah, it's annoying, it's stupid. I don't see how
it's protecting or helping anybody.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Yeah. Yeah, I mean my thing and I talked about
this on Games Mornings, is this is a This sort
of thing has happened in the past where they try
to put on strict government and applied or required age
requirements onto various industries, various communications industries, and that is
always in the past been ruled a violation of the
First Amendment. This clearly is just that it is, you know,
(15:01):
I shouldn't have to prove to anyone that I am
an adult so that I can communicate with other adults,
that is yeah. And the idea then that these this
stuff can be hacked, well, of course it can, and
of course we're here, but but we don't have to
like even get to that point to point out this
this sucks. Should not be required and it's abridging my
right to free speech and probably shouldn't have it in
(15:23):
the first place. It seems like it might get worse
with this sort of thing, just because, uh, this is
going to quickly spread. You know, Ohio is just one
state that has it. There, this is a there's similar
stuff in Virginia, there's similar stuff in Mississippi, similar stuff
throughout various places in Europe. Maybe maybe it's just the UK,
(15:44):
but maybe some other places in Europe. And it's really
just kind of the start. Like many the compliance has
only just begun, so you know, Discord might be doing this,
but then it's going to be Microsoft and Sony and
Nintendo and all these other companies that might have to
record a similar stuff in the future. And so there's
just gonna be these treasure tropes of data sitting around
(16:05):
and h that stuff's going to be very valuable to hackers.
One point five terabytes of photos people can do, like
especially if you can tie that to other people's names
and identities. Yeah, you could do a lot with that.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
They've been posting the photos already. They're like, it's fucked up,
Like this is messed up. In Europe is also fucked up.
But they have other ways to corroberate. I s my
friends from Europe. They say that, oh, I bought this
game like five, like over five years ago, and because
you have to be like over thirteen to buy the game,
that way you can check lit. You don't have to
(16:37):
send your ID type stuff. It shouldn't happen, but maybe
like find another way so people don't have to share
the goddamn government ID with you.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
I don't know if something has.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
There's like some sites and I can't remember if it's
like Twitter or YouTube or something where it's like we
are monitoring your behavior and we can kind of tell
if you're an old fuck or not. And if you
if we can tell if you're old, you're probably gonna
be fine. But if there's a question, we might require
you to give us an ID. Now, if you engage
with like gaming videos on YouTube, that probably triggers it.
That's been a thing recently. Yeah, this this things and
(17:13):
discord say, hey, it was this third party platform we're using,
but I don't know.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
You got to take responsibility for this stuff right, so
what I don't know.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
That's the big stuff that we have written down here, Mike. Uh,
just overall, how you're feeling about the you know, gaming
right now? About going into the holidays with a bunch
of games to play Boy. There's been like someone will
pointed out, like there's a bunch of stuff about the
Hit Game Pass, which you know a lot of people
are canceling, but those games will come out in other ways.
I might play them on PC. It's just kind of
been a NonStop onslot of game releases and kind of
(17:43):
a NonStop onslot of various kinds of bad news for
these companies who make games. How are you feeling overall?
Speaker 2 (17:50):
I feel good, but yeah, you know, I feel like
I'm doing okay. Some stuff is popping up, like appslom
that wasn't necessarily super on my radar then got really
good views. It's this beat them up. I like that genre,
so definitely want to go check that out. I'm making
good progress with Silent Hill. F there's a bit of like, Okay,
what's coming out that I think I do really care about.
(18:13):
I want to try Ninja Guide in four you know,
I gotta try the new Pokemon even though it's like
that that's a game that doesn't feel real to me
for some reason, like that's not a game coming out
next week. Shut up what you're talking about. It's really weird. Yeah, yeah,
and it absolutely is. I still what's what's kind of
getting to be the most are the big rbgs that
(18:34):
I want to still play, like you know, say, Tactics
Chows in the Sky that remake, and it's like, oh boy,
finding some everthing, and then even the Dragon Quest remixer
coming out relatively soon, and I'm very excited about the
Dragon Quest one into HG two D so those I'm
probably certainly making time for. I've definitely had a point
TDY too, because I am still playing it and I've
(18:54):
been playing it kind of, you know, like a run
or two just on my computer every day, and every
time I feel like, oh, little guilty, but I'm like, huh,
I do want to play. This. Part of me is
wondering how much even want to really care about Battlefield
six because I don't. I don't know the fact that
I was bad at the beta, which is more of
a me problem than the games where I'm like, well
then who.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Cares any excuse to skip on a game right now,
right like that's how where I'm at, Like any excuse,
give me an excuse, and I'll skip on on it.
I'll have five other options right away, including things that
came out of nowhere like absolom. So, yeah, I get it.
You know, I'll handle the quick look of Battlefield six mics.
You don't need to worry about it. Yeah, yeah, I
(19:35):
got you back. So someone pointed out there was Alarmo news.
I didn't even see this Kirby in the forgott the
Land is coming to Nintendo's soundclock colon Alarmo. I still
have my alarmo plug Dan, how about you?
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yeah, yeah, no, I still use it. So I was
kind of wondering when we were going to get another
one of these, actually, So I'll be pretty happy to
check out some Kirby sounds for sure. I'll I've been
doing the same one for too long now. I've been
relying on just the specific Mario Kart eight Deluxe one
(20:06):
that is the Cloudy Top or whatever restract that kind
of does the you know, galaxy theme. But waking up
to that with too much that I'm where I'm gonna
start resenting that song. So I have to switch it
up anyways.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Sure, Yeah, that's so. That's always a worry. Although I
had Cruising Blast. Yeah, Cruisse Blast is my theme song
for a real long time. Uh And I never grew
to resent that song, Mike, and I never could.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah, I resented it immediately.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
Can you fuck with that thing and put like weirdsh
it on it? Like the I don't know, like they cheers.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Yeah, I'm sure someone's hacked it by now.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Yeah, I would be pretty funny.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Yeah, it's kind of I think it's an SD card
slaughter a USB porta.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Oh yeah, if it has an car, you're going to
destroy that ship right away? Is you know who they are?
Speaker 1 (20:53):
All right? That? You know? That does? Are the big topics.
We don't have to prolong anything. We're getting plenty of
super chats and we can talk about what the people
want to talk about. Let's take a break. We'll come
right back and do that. We're back, let's get into
the super chats. Mike, go ahead and take it away,
all right.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
First off from Simon from Saskatchewan. I never realized that
ballin wonder or Wonderland is also a co op game.
Has to be local though, is danaware of this, Ohio
co op co op makes it somehow worse to play.
What the hell is the co op in ballin Wonder?
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Now, I feel like it's like a like a like
an assist mode, but I don't remember.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Yeah, I saw like there's two us world, It's not
like there's two of those fuckers running around, right.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
I don't think so that would be a nightmare. Now, great,
now there's two of them. I could I couldn't handle that,
but hey, if there is, maybe maybe we'll find a
reason to play that, for play the co op mode
for Blake Club or something. Eventually that game will be
on Blake Club in one form or another, and we'll see.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Us are maybe surprised it's not already. Simon's back says,
I love to see a competition stream between Giant Bomb
and Nexlander. However, you two and Dan must play against Alex.
If he beat Alex, would he retaliate?
Speaker 1 (22:09):
I mean, look, yeah, I I never want to do
anything that might upset Alex, But I also think Alex
would not be a poor sport about any such thing.
He's a grown man and can handle anything. So no,
I think we'd be just fine.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
And now correct says, I forgot about Outer Worlds two
coming out this month, and Devil Finds Keeper coming out
next Friday, Ninja Guid and Forest also this month. Somehow, guy,
outer Worlds two is what I actually do keep forgetting about.
I was much more excited for a vow than Outer
Worlds two for some reason. I don't know if that's
a weird thing or what. Oder World's two could be
(22:48):
a very good game. It's Acidian making one of those
you know, you know, the whole thing with the other
one's as basically fall out, and this one will be that,
but probably even bigger and closer to that. I'm curious
how people will receive this one, because you know about
definitely kind of came and went a bit and I
(23:09):
liked it, but even like I think my opinion of
it was a bit higher than it is right now.
Even it seems like other people started out a lower
place than I did with that one. But uh, I
don't know. People liked Outer world one, and you know,
I don't hear something. They don't hear it too much,
but they did, especially when you go back and look
at those twenty nineteen Game of the yearless like I
(23:29):
do what are you expecting from Outer World two.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
I think I'm expecting it to be like a much
better version about a world to one. I think it's
going to realize a lot more, and I think it's
probably going to maintain itself throughout the experience a little
bit better than Outer Worlds one did. I think that's
the reason why it becomes an afterthought for a lot
of people, is it had a hot start the game itself,
Like literally playing the game starts off really like hot
and just like, oh, this is good stuff, and then
(23:55):
it just doesn't maintain that and by the end it's like, Okay,
this game went from a strong eight down to a
seven or whatever. And I bet they will have the
time and where withal in the budget now being you know,
fully under Microsoft this entire time with a game that
that Microsoft probably believes end because the first one did
really well and now Private Division is not not publishing it,
(24:16):
it is Microsoft money. My guess would be that this
is a little bit better than that game was, or
quite a bit. It's gonna be noticeably better. All those games,
all three of those games, those are the ones I
was talking about. The game pass games. You can see
why they're like, now is the time to raise the
prices because there's gonna be all these games and then
Call of Duty soon after that. It just feels. It
(24:36):
feels bad when it when it's when it's so obvious
like that, like you don't I'm not gonna want to
miss this month on game Pass. Here's a bunch of
reasons why it's worth this thirty dollars. Right, that's that's
three games and then Call of Duty next month. Yeah,
that's a bummer. Boy.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
I think I had no idea that Keeper from Double
Find was coming out even this year. Gosh, that's coming out.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Another one that, like I saw the trailer I filed,
was like, oh, I'm excited about that. Looks like my
kind of shit a little bit. Uh, No one's talking
about it so and really they're not even talking about
it yet, so we'll see. I'm looking forward to playing
it though. Okay.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Then next one here is from it to Morales. He says, one,
I mostly play physical games, but when Xbox was giving
out games through games with gold Bus the introduction and
game passed sales, I did accumulate a small digital library. Now,
with the price increase, I cancel Game Pass. Part two
but I still get EMO notifications for on game or
(25:39):
for games on sale. Is it even worth buying games
on Xbox at this point? Well, I still have access
next year. I don't think you're gonna lose access to
your Xbox And so is that how that works? You
know about more than me.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
Jeff, So no, no, Or you're like, well, I lose
access next year. So you lose access if you don't
buy the game. But if you're buying the game, even
with the discount on game Pass, you'll still own the
game even if your game Pass laps is at that point.
I think for me, the troubling thing will be like
(26:11):
if you buy anything that has any sort of multiplayer
component and then you want to play that online at
some point, but you want to cancel game Pass, and
it's like, well, I want to play online, so I
need some sort of version of Xbox Live. So I'm
at least paying ten dollars per month, and it's at
that point maybe I should be paying more, and I
just don't want to have that conversation with myself usually,
(26:31):
so it's like I'm going to go to the place
where multiplayer is free and try to get my library
built up. Over there and not worry about it. It's
that is not to say that you should have any
concerns about these games going away. I certainly do not
feel that way. Microsoft will want to run a service
in a store long after they're out of the hardware business,
(26:52):
and those games will be available and one way or another,
whether that's just cloud or for you to download on
PC or something like that, or you know, their new
console that is a PC underneath.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Maybe Jess Murdoch says, the video game industry is on fire,
the world about to explode. Meanwhile, Giant Bomb, now watch
this drive. Love you guys. I love Golfleek. Thank you Jess.
Have you been joining golf weleek rab? Was there everything
you're hoping for?
Speaker 1 (27:19):
Yeah? Yeah, it's like you know me, I always want
to do more and more and more. But we got
the stuff we have done has been a lot of fun.
I feel like we did get quite a few streams
out of it. There's still more fun to be had tomorrow.
And yeah, it does feel like a little bit of
a ray of sunshine as all this other stuff is happening.
And I do I think that is a strength of
Giant Bomb. Is that we don't have to be necessarily
(27:39):
tied to the latest new release. The stuff that, like
the things that make us makes our streams and our
site special, is not necessarily like that. We're going to
get the hottest new coverage. We often will. We'll be there.
We're excited about new games, but a place where people
can sort of retreat and get away from some of
this noise and not have to worry about what shitty
(27:59):
thing you doing, what shitty thing E is doing, what
shitty thing Microsoft and Activision are all doing. You can
just come hang out here. We can play good games
that we know are fun and kind of hit. That
vibe of people hanging out and you know, ribbing each other.
It's god. Yeah, okay, we're doing good stuff over at
Giant Bond. People should be a part of it.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Seven golf them streams already, we should have two more.
At least.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
It's called with Friends in the Table because that's a
fun golf game.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Golf of friends. That's that's the UPF. That's what we're
into with your friends. Golf with your friends golf. Yes,
thank you, I keep forgetting that it's golf with your friends.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Yes, I will never forgive you I'll tell you what
I think. We certainly had more golf team streams and
we had B theme streams during B week.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
That's true, that's true. Yeah, it turns out there's more
golf games.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Turns out there's more golf games.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Next up is lex LETI and your coreredations for what
to play with my six button mega driving short ns
O A boy freelancing at the moment. It's a thing
right now. Yeah, I bet that's rough, and sorry about that,
but absolutely, I mean, like, how many of the nsks
even really have How many of those were the six
button games? Street Fighters on there? I think? So, yeah, play.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Comics Zone any game with the six but you can.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
But like I assume, Lex, what's some to see the
magic of the six button controller? Like some you know?
Speaker 1 (29:23):
But I mean, like game go play a modern street
Fighter using that street Fighter collection?
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Oh you could do that, huh? That would actually probably
feel pretty good?
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Yeah, get street Fighter six. Yeah, get get the Cap
Gum Fighting collection too, and play Cap versus S and
K two. But if you want to play something on
n s O, Comic Zone actually was a six button game. Now,
I bet you will not like Comic Zone, but most
people try it anyways.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Yeah, that's not great.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
I like it. It's I like, it's not great. No,
it's a game that presents as a beat them up
and it's it's actually almost more like an inventory adventure game.
Like it's actually weird. Yes, you don't really get that.
It looks awesome.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Though, Yes, it's a fantastic yes, and again I like
it all right.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Next up here is from excuse Me Hilliard Hendrix. I
bought Especially in thirty three on GG and moved my
game pass save over to it. If Microsoft's new pricing
is too high to sday, I do want to just
exactly what the numbers are, like, what the damage is
over a game pass, if if Disney Plus or lost
(30:37):
reportedly like one point five million subscribers for you know,
their bullshit and you got raising the price like this,
and just kind of the bad year Xbox has been
having in general, I just wonder what exactly that number
is going down to.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Yeah. I think people are just looking for an extit
ramp and that gave it to them, and it's like, okay,
this is the use I need to move my gaming
life to another platform and PC is right there and
a lot of these games do have cross saves. Expedition
thirty three certainly does so. Yeah, I bet the numbers
are maybe even surprisingly high. Uh not that they've lost
(31:17):
all of their business or anything, and they could recover
a little bit, but it doesn't feel like it's gonna
be a great recovery. If there is one.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
Really my turning point, I don't think you know that
turning point, but like, definitely where it was full on
bummer state with Xbox for me was the cancelation of
Perfect Dark. I din't't care that much about Perfect Dark.
There's something about them promoting and talking about that game
and all the smoke they blew up our asses about
that forever to just be like, well, I'm.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Like what I agree?
Speaker 2 (31:43):
What do you mean you're not gonna see that through?
I found that pathetic and bizarre.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
I yes, I definitely was a straw that was breaking
the camel's back for me of like, you know, you're
making all these huge investments, and you starting a new
studio and you're going to see it through, and you're working,
you're paying Crystal and Amics to come in here, and
and this game looks cool in this trailer, even if
it is smoking merrors. Maybe there's a chance that this
is the vision. I'm I'm all for it, let's go,
(32:12):
and you guys can't even see it through.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
It's sub bummer if it's like, wow, it just wasn't
working out, Like, well, you should have made sure that
works a little.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
Bit, like you should treat it as like it's not
an option for failure like you should. Yeah, and the
fact that you think it's a failure is an option
to like just cancel. It says to me that we're
not really You're not serious about this, and I don't
need to be really thinking about you all that much.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Then, remember remember when he was Phil was, Yeah, I
only wait to get out after the the Vampire game,
the bad Vampire game.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
There was the Red Fall.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
He was the only way I was to make a
lot of good games and then just.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
Streat up going canceling games. Now it's just what happened
with that.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Well, the only way out of out of that game
of Red Fall was to spend a lot of money
on Ai. Actually is what it turned out to be.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Yeah bye, Redfall was that like one of the like
it's not just one turning point, but that was one
of the other big turning points, wasn't it.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
I mean, yes, it's just like one bad domino after
another where you know, like you write anything any one
of these things in a vacuum, it's like kind of whatever.
But that and Starfield not working out and price increases
and game pass price increases.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
And being a big hit and yeah, yes, yeah, yeah,
one thing after the other, and then yeah, the like
selling off the Hi Fi Rush studio and all that
just adds up to being the kind of a rotten
smell around all of it that people are like, you know,
convinced me to come join the party, and it's like, actually,
everything's telling you, like this party stinks a little bit.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Next up here is from oh Grug regarding the Giant
Bambathon and or Extra Life. How much will it cost
to make Jan eat one hot dog? You just start
saving money now if this is a thing.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
I do not want anyone to get sick from eating
too much at any of these things. So five thousand
dollars per hot dogs?
Speaker 2 (34:06):
What I'm gonna say, Okay, that makes sense. That'll be
the price of them in a couple of years here
but everywhere else, Yeah, man, Political humor Wiley Dickett says,
I've been giving Microsoft by money since the early days
of Xbox Life Gold. The suck cost fallacy is real.
Even after the price increases, I'm struggling to just give
up on them and cancel. Yeah, well, everyone seems so
(34:29):
soured on it. You know, We've had a lot of
people on here who bid an Xbox fans for a bit,
and they seem they seemed kind of just fed up
with it. Did you do? You know, are there any
like super Xbox faithful still or is everyone kind of
resigned to the fate here a little bit?
Speaker 1 (34:45):
There's definitely still going to be faithful out there, and
but they are like even the faithful are asking questions.
They're even the faithful are like, yo, uh, you know,
why should I buy this next game? Or why should
I do this? Like Microsoft tell me? And then x
Box sort of like doesn't say anything or just keeps
doing things the way they've been doing it. So I
think even among the faithful that it is a more
(35:08):
difficult and difficult time than ever to maintain the faith.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Brian zero zero says, if you can ignore BDS game
pass increase has removed the incentive of beating one or
two games a month for the value prospects tough proposition
at the moment.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
Yeah. Yeah, it's like if people, which you know, everyone
can make their own decision about BDS, and that's the
call to boycott Microsoft due to their involvement in the
genocide in Israel, which Microsoft has backed off of to
a certain degree, but BDS has not lifted the boycott call. Yeah, Like,
you have to like be so dedicated kind of to
(35:47):
just playing game pass games at this point to get
your money's worth. And there's a lot of other games
happening in other places now that you can sustain your
gaming habit through just game pass games. Again, there's many
coming out, Like it's they have done a lot to
still make it feel valuable. I don't know if it
feels this valuable that it just starts bucking up against U, Like, oh,
(36:07):
you are asking me to really sort of shepherd this
subscription service so that I feel like I'm getting my
money's worth instead of being something that you can kind
of just forget about. You kind of can't forget about
game Pass. You have to be actively engaged with it,
and then that makes it so much easier to be like, well,
then I'm really noticing when I'm not paying getting my
thirty dollars a month worth, So I should just get
(36:29):
out of here. And I think a lot of people
are gonna feel that way.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
Ky related to this, Wiley Jacket says, what finally sold
me is the knowledge that I can get a lot
of value from Steam with thirty dollars a month. And yeah,
I mean even if it's not you know, like a
big sales month like this is on Steam, there's gonna
be enough sales that, Yeah, thirty bucks will get you
games that you can buy. And I know, like Steam
ownership isn't the same as physical owning, but it's more
of an ownership.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Yeah, game pass is yeah, and it's effectively like, yes,
we get it, I get it, I get it. But
when people say I want to my games, usually they're
fine with what Steam is offering up. And if you
want your physical games compared to that, that's fine too,
of course, but uh boy, Steam Steam deals are really
good and people that is like that continues to be
something that you hear is people who come to PC
(37:13):
or they get a Steam deck, like, hey, these Steam
sales they really make a difference.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
Hey, gosh, I mean my library and Steam has been
getting just gigantic. I picked you know, I pick up,
I pick up just weird little games or any sales anymore.
They transport fever too. Some day I want to build
montail lines, right, I can't right now, every but that
sounds like a nice thing to do someday. Yep, all right,
(37:39):
that's sorry, that's uh, that's it. That's it for now
with the super chats. Got one more, we got more,
all says, I can't heat yo, guys, BC. My boyfriend
listen to the radio while he drives. But I'm watching
and love everything you do. Sorry, I'm kind of drunk.
Hell yeah, we love to hear it. Have a good
(38:00):
good night. I have a good night. You're gonna You're
doing great. Hang in there, enjoy whatever's on the radio. Oh,
I can't hear you, guys because my boyfriend once I
get it. Yeah, don't worry the break.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
You read exactly what was written there, Mike. You didn't
do anything wrong.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
You're fine, that's right. I did my best. Yeah, I
hope you have a great night on ye kind of
like the race. Do you have a like a local
radio station that you listen to sometimes?
Speaker 1 (38:25):
So I have been and always will be an m PR.
I just keep.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
You like my friends are you. We might have been
friends in high school. They all listen to you. That's
smart case listening to NPR. Uh. We have a mixed
channel here. I like it because it's like they'll play
classic rock, but they will still play their new stuff.
So I kind of have some idea what sure, yeah,
I think, which is like, you know, I want to know.
I want to still kind of know what the big
(38:51):
hits right now are.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Yeah, for me, that's usually what it is. It's like
I am MPR, will like give me mostly down the
middle stuff and all, you know, not always but good enough,
and then there's usually something interesting on. I like a
lot of their other shows.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
All right, that's it for now. I just want to
spend them more super chats. We will read them for
the end of the show. Thank you so much, everybody.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
All right, let's take another quick break. We'll get set up.
We're going to do a mount rushmore of first person
shooter multiplayer games. We'll get into that right after this. Okay,
we are back. Game mess decides Mike Manatti. He's actually no,
he's there, he's over there and I'm Jeff Grebb right here. Yeah,
(39:33):
I figured it out. Mount Rushmore of first person shooter
multiplayer games, Mike, you know Battlefield six is here. I,
like I said, I was enjoying it. I think this
was an interesting one just because there's so many like obvious,
like strong eras and I'm gonna be curious to see
how much do we actually represent that on our Mount
Rushmore or if we go a little bit deeper for
(39:56):
various reasons, I don't know. But where do you think
we shoul start with first person shooter multiplayer games?
Speaker 2 (40:03):
Yeah, gosh, there's a lot of places to go. Cho
Call Duty four is the first one that really does
pop in my mind. Yeah, I feel like still has
established the modern way we play almost all of these games,
right with the progression and everything like that. It feels like, yeah,
which we're still in a Call of Duty for multiplayer
(40:25):
shooter world.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
Yes, I am there with you. I would point out, like, yeah,
even as this is the one that was dominant that
even as the next sort of phase of first person
shooter multiplayer games came about with like Fortnite and PUBG,
Call of Duty didn't really wane. It just sort of
joined the party and had its own first person shooter
(40:47):
Battle Royale game, which is not how it's worked before.
It's like, no Call Duty replaced Halo or whatever. We'll
get to many of those, but I'm gonna just throw
out counter Strike just because it feels like it should
be the second game mentioned here, at least as far
as I'm concerned.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
I was there.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
I was there a gand off Gandolf.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
I was there when all that I mean, I was
playing games is Classic constantly. I was like one of
my first really big online multiplayer shooters, and then all
of a sudden, I was like, Oh, there's this new one,
and what's playing counter Strike now? And I was like, well,
that's like this is pretty fun too. Actually, it's still
almost Burson me out. I think I said before that
counter Strike is a game I played a lot of
in nineteen ninety nine, and it still is just kind
(41:28):
of basically.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
It's yeah game. It's still that game. Absolutely. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:33):
Every time I play it again, I do get like
a little weird, like, boy, other people are still just
doing this. Thank you Elli Miracle for the five gift. Yeah,
thank you, by the way, appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (41:41):
Thank you, Mike, you do you do you have the
like lamb party scene for counter Strike like we did
have here, like you know ne Bracil all of this.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
Yeah, there was definitely some of that. I don't know
if it was like as big culturally as it might
have been in some other countries, but it definitely existed.
Speaker 2 (41:58):
I mean that was like the big moat, like you know,
this was still you know, dial up modem eirh those
It was kind of like in that transition period it
was this one was, but it was.
Speaker 1 (42:06):
Still most Yeah, I'm sure it was like ninety per
dial up modem even even there, you know, a few
years into it. All right, what elsewhere where do you
want to go?
Speaker 2 (42:15):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (42:15):
Yeah? Anything else? Christian?
Speaker 3 (42:16):
No, No, you just remember that it was so huge.
Speaker 4 (42:19):
I remember my dad she was dropping me on the
like in summer, dropping me on the in the like
the land cafe. She was like for eight hours, strangees,
he will go to the guy paying Look at my son.
There's he's gonna be here for eight hours. His shoes county,
try to play contrit try all day. Yeah, good memories,
all right?
Speaker 1 (42:36):
Where you want to go next? Mike?
Speaker 2 (42:38):
Uh, which halo would you do? Would you do? Halo one,
which was which was big on a land sense, or
Halo two, which was, you know, when the first big
console online multiplayer games.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
I think I would still do Combat Evolved, just because
that's the one where it's like, it was like so
popular that it became like, hey, we can plug this
thing into our ethernet port here at college and we
could play against each other here on this this intranet.
And just kind of hearing stories like that something I
(43:11):
never really did, but hearing stories like that, I was
always like, Okay, yeah, that's that's how you know a
game is really popping off when people are going to
those links and everyone sort of knows that this is
something you can do with this game. HULD. You know,
like certainly Halo two with Xbox Live is probably also
worth considering for this list. But I do think, like
if we're talking about the online shooter, like the shooter
(43:33):
that like exists because online it probably is still Call
of Duty four. But I know that's not maybe not
the conversation or maybe not everyone would agree with that.
But I don't know, what do you think I.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Could see the other way, because you know, I mean,
Halo two launching Xbox Live is it's Yeah, it was huge.
It was feeling less important recently, right, but you know,
of course Live was a big deal. And you know,
basically all the Soul online stuff we have today is
in that style. It's in that mold.
Speaker 1 (44:04):
Yeah, but it's like the Halo one still like figured
out playing a multiplayer shooter on a console, like.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
And I did, what are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (44:13):
Right? Are you gonna take are you gonna take this seriously?
Or are you gonna just go?
Speaker 2 (44:23):
Halo is a very big deal. So I think we
put we can put both of them for now if
we want to. Yeah, let's let's put both for now. Okay,
Halo Combat involved Halo two.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
I okay, I have a question. You asked me a question,
A question for you? Uh Quick three or Unreal Tournament?
And obviously obviously we have preferences, but like I'm Mount Rushmore,
what are you thinking?
Speaker 2 (44:46):
I still think Unreal Tournament. Honestly, I don't know if
either of them really make it, but it was interesting
because it was they both represented one of the first
times it was like we can actually just make the
multiplayer stuff its own game, and it was controversial the people. Yeah,
you know, the hardcores on like the GameSpy dot com
forums and things like that were up sudden. They thought
(45:07):
it was kind of a weird, greedy move, but they
ended up both being good games, but especially Unreal Tournament
it was just and it had sequels that were really
good also, so it's fun stuff. That's Those are definitely
the games I think of in this kind of that
in between period between like I don't you know, like
the Dooms and the Half Life even and then what
(45:29):
we would eventually have with Call of Duty and stuff
like that, and between that you had the Unreal Tournament time,
which was a good time. I liked the multiplayer shooters. Then,
I mean this is also kind of the Battlefield period.
And now I'm gonna get put a question to you.
Do you think any of the battlefields would really be
up for consideration here?
Speaker 1 (45:46):
No, I mean, you know, it's it's worthy of conversation,
but this is the conversation where it's I will point
out that there was something about Battlefield that felt very
much like, oh, there there is a huge community there.
There's like, uh, it reaches a little bit further than
you would even think, Like I remember there's like an
(46:06):
older guy in my neighborhood who was just super into Battlefield.
I'm being like, oh wow, and he's like really, he's
talking about the next one coming out and how he's
gonna get his clan back together, get his buddy's back together,
and they were just gonna play a ton of that.
And it's like, okay, yeah, and that is certainly like
worthy of this conversation, but I just don't think it
quite makes it onto the list. It's gonna be a
bit too tough for Battlefield. Yeah, no, I agree, I
(46:29):
mean they were all I think it's it's also it's
also hurt by like later being such a direct competitor
call to call of duty, which is not where it started.
But that's like it's like, honestly, the majority of its
history now is being like this call of duty competitor,
which is weird for Battlefield. Actually, like for.
Speaker 2 (46:44):
Me, it would I would be thinking about probably just
bowfling on ten forty two, which was was a deal.
I don't know if it's the biggest deal. So I
don't know if it's a Mount Rushmore deal.
Speaker 1 (46:53):
Yep, all right, what else do we got here? Let's see, Uh,
you know, I think there's a first person in Fortnite,
But we're talking about multiplayer first person shooters? Are we
going to consider Fortnite? I honestly don't even remember if
there's still like an ongoing first person mode in there,
like yeah, okay, well then we consider it. No, okay,
then then then what about PUBG if that? If that,
(47:15):
if that's the the Battle Royale like sort of representative here, yeah, person.
Speaker 4 (47:20):
So in Fortnite, the third person is kind of the
default mode. INBOUT and PUBG, the first person is kind
of the default mode if you want to play it.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
Yeah, it became, it became.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
It became that really.
Speaker 4 (47:32):
Bad at the beginning, and then they fixed it and
now it's like, for the longest time, he's been the
first person.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
So yep, well I thought you was also the third person.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
It is third person, you can't play they had both both,
but like you want to.
Speaker 1 (47:47):
Buy it first person, So so it was it started
third person, like you're you're right, that's why you think that,
And then they introduced first person mode and then quickly
in that community that became like, oh, that's the real
way you're supposed to play, and I do I guess
I would say I would assume those that's the more
populated servers now, but maybe maybe maybe not maybe not yet.
Speaker 3 (48:07):
I don't know. It hasn't been there in years.
Speaker 2 (48:10):
Yeah, I mean it's like, I don't know, it almost
exists a little bit separately from this conversation to me.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
Yeah, I think it's like, yeah, I think it's like
part of the liney, like the linage I'm talking about it.
It's like, you know, you do have like Quake and
Golden Eyes sort of happening on two different tracks, and
then Halo comes around and it's like, oh, Halo's making
it work on console, and then then has the online
stuff with Halo two and that that's pretty dominant for
quite some time. Well, counter Strike is over there doing
it's thing on PC. A few other shooters as well,
(48:39):
of course, and then Call of Duty comes along, and
then Fortnite and PUBG come along, and it's like there
are these Kings of the Mountain. But in terms of
first person shooters, I think you're right, those batteryale games
maybe are a little bit different. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
If you want to if you want to track this
this like the lineage for for pup G and Forna,
you kind of go have to go to like Arma,
you know that kind of yeah shooter.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
I'm not gonna talk about Arma in this contract.
Speaker 4 (49:06):
Yeah it was really fine, and I don't know, you
gotta you have to like those type of games to
enjoy this, but yeah, it's I don't think it matches
well with this in Mount Rushmore at all.
Speaker 1 (49:18):
Okay, then Mike, how about Overwatch?
Speaker 2 (49:21):
Yeah, I was just thinking. I was wondering first about
Team Fortress if any of those would be considered, even
though I think most people would think Team Fortress too.
But again, like me personally, no Team Fortress Classic. Even
before that you had just Team Fortress and Team Portress.
Is important because for my career, that was like the
first big mod that was so distinct from the original games.
(49:42):
That was a Quake model, like, oh, this is just
its own game, and then eventually just became its own game.
Something about Team Fortress is Mount Rushmore y. You know,
it got more popular later, but then he had Overwatch,
which kind of turned that into you know, Set Fortress
was a class space shooter and that was different, but
then you had Overwatch, which was the hero based shooter,
(50:03):
and that was a big thing for a very long time.
We're still seeing some of that show up and things
like you know, Valiant wasn't too long ago. Everyone kind
of stopped the bit trying to make their own Overwatch clothes.
We still have Marvel rivals and things like that. So
definitely open up another branch there. Boy, did I like
Overwatch a ton, Jeff in this the first few years,
just did it. That was my game. I was playing
(50:24):
that thing like crazy even now, Like you know, for
a while, I felt kind of bad about it, and
now it's Yeah, every once in a while I go back,
I'm like, yeah, this is still fun. I'm not I'm
never gonna be into it the way I was, but yeah,
I get warm feelings when I think about Overwatch these days.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
Yeah, I will definitely consider it. We'll see how it
susses out here. You joked about it, But like Golden
I was crucially important to multiplayer first person shooter gaming,
and it was kind of like, I don't know, at
a certain point, it felt like a party game where
it's like we get together and do this thing, and
first person shooter gaming would go in such a different
(51:01):
direction or a better direction. It would just kind of
get figured out long after that game. But it's cultural
impact in that moment was pretty massive. How do you
really view it here for this list?
Speaker 2 (51:14):
Yeah, I think it should I think it should be
I think it should be strongly considered. Jeff, what I okay?
Speaker 1 (51:20):
All right? GoldenEye double O seven? All right?
Speaker 2 (51:24):
I mean my joke's aside. Obviously it was a pretty
big deal in the split screen world, right. I mean
it's similar to Halo in a lot of ways. So
you know, it's like a game wouldn't have been what
it was without it. It's a little weird because like
there's not there's not as much of a four track
with it as there is we'll say, a lot of
(51:45):
these other ones. Unless you consider Halo the direct successor
to it, which I think a lot of people do.
Then it's like, well do you do gold Night and Halo?
I don't know, so what to think about it?
Speaker 1 (51:55):
Yep? Uh, all right? Do you have anything else you
want to consider? Right? Like, I stuff like Valorant pops
in my head, but it's like, no, that's too like
we already have a representative for those ideas, things things
along those lines, and not for at least.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
But just other games I really like, like Titan Fall
Type two. Yeah, absolutely, Doom. Doom that was maybe the
first one with big online multiplayer, right.
Speaker 1 (52:18):
Yeah, It's like it was definitely and it was popular,
but it's like, got that that idea was so exploded
by if we put Doom on here, it's like, well,
why isn't Quake on here?
Speaker 2 (52:27):
Uh, because it's just because Quake is this kind of
Doom again with better graphics and a lot of these
in terms of the importance of it, because Doom was
the first one that people were really playing online.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
Yeah, but yeah, I guess just exploded so much more
with with Quake two. Right, Yeah, Quake two's were really
popped off quick three arena, I guess and go, okay,
I guess when you think about it that way, how
long it was between that stuff? Yeah, I don't know.
To me, it's like Doom doesn't quite make this. Doom's
like in the Titan Fall bucket, where it's like, yeah,
there's some great campaigns and and that's I remember. Primarily
(53:01):
is a single player game.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
Doom deserves it more than Golden Night. A lot of
people do. Multiplayer was a very big thing.
Speaker 1 (53:08):
It was Yeah, I know, okay, yeah we can put
them up there. Then sure, let's.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
Think about it. Let's put it up there. I agree.
I probably won't make it, but I don't know. I
think it should be. I think it should be put
on the list.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
Yep. But yeah, in that case, I am going to
put quick three up there arena, just so we can
cover our asses, so we can have this as evidence
that we considered it. When people yell at us, there
you go.
Speaker 4 (53:31):
This one, I'm gonna say it doesn't apply to the
like spirit of the rule of this not rushmore, but
it does to the letter is destiny, but it's not
going to hang that. I think the most fun I
ever had in a multiplayer like first person shood it
was doing that Destiny race and that kind of stuff.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
Sure, yeah, yeah, I mean like when we get like
Left four Dead, it's the first person multiplayer I was
thinking that too, that sort of thing. Yeah, yeah, all right, Mike,
anything else I think that I think we have four
the four are here somewhere. Yeah, I think that's that's
probably right. I agree. So as a reminder to audio listeners, uh,
(54:10):
let's see Call of Duty four, Modern Warfare, Counterstrike, Halo
Combat Evolved, Halo two, Unreal Tournament, Team, Fortress Classic, Overwatch, GoldenEye,
Double O seven, Doom and Quake three arena. All right, Mike,
where do we go from here?
Speaker 2 (54:27):
I think I think All Duty four is a gimme.
Speaker 1 (54:30):
Yes, I agree, let's go. You know, let's control X
that oh shit.
Speaker 4 (54:37):
Someone in chatt says of it, and it killed me
because I was think he kills on two. He has
the best multiplayer mode ever, is so fucking good. Thank
you for letting even know it's not gonna hang there,
but put it at least.
Speaker 3 (54:49):
I know you're gonna delite.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
It right away.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
But I'm not gonna kill Christian. I'm sorry, I'm god.
I'm glad you like that. We're not putting it even
on the short list.
Speaker 4 (54:57):
It has literally the best you put a Systems three
piece of ship.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
I want to right words face BioShock to no.
Speaker 4 (55:13):
I wish one day we can like do the run
the emulator and get you to to play like the
multiplayer kills some two because it is like a special thing.
Is so much fun, yo, motherfucker Metro, pryme to get
the fuck out of here.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
You Yeah, there's the there's the d S game. Metrod
Prime Hunters is up there now, everybody, Yeah, listen, I
know some people who are in a clan for Metroid
Prime Hunters. Okay, I think you're right. Call of Duty
is the gimme from there. It's like a lot of
(55:46):
these other ones are pretty like neck and neck. But
I I I probably would put counter Strike over next.
It's it's it's longevity kind of like it makes it
stand out from everything else.
Speaker 2 (55:58):
You know, t Portress predates it as the mod that
got twared to its own game, but Cashike was the yeah,
kind of upon itself even compared to that.
Speaker 1 (56:07):
Yes, and then it's like, you know, and Team Fortress
is still certainly something people play Team Fortress two in
one way or any of the other. Counter Strike has
just been a constant, even beyond kind of anything else
I can think of where it's like today that's the
first person shooter kids all over the world are picking up.
That's still the esport they think of when they think
of first person shooter esports. It's kind of astounding.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
Its longevity is pretty incredible.
Speaker 1 (56:31):
Yep, right, what are you thinking now? Probably one of
the Halos I I'm with you. I would probably go
Halo Halo Combat Evolved for a mount rushmore for figuring
out shooters on a console and still having incredible multiplayer,
even if it's not necessarily the online multiplayer we've got
in too, but the Xbox Live is super important, so
(56:55):
I can see Halo too. I'm kind of leaving this
up to you a little bit, I think.
Speaker 2 (56:59):
I mean, I I could go either way. I'm fifty
to fifty. So the fact that you lean slightly more
towards combat evolving and just follow that, that's fine.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
Okay, sounds good. There we go, all right, So that's
three spots, and then we have Halo two, Unreal Tournament Team,
Fortress Classic, Overwatch, Golden Eye Double O seven or doom
I don't necessarily know where to go from here like
this is this is like there's I guess what did
I lean? I might lean Overwatch, Mike, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
Yeah, I'm thinking either we go kind of newer with Overwatch. Oh,
we go older and get more of a George Washington
with Doom on. Yeah, that's kind of the two I
consider here. God, it's weird to Overwatch is actually like
eight years old or whatever already.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
Yeah, but uhre, that's still pretty new.
Speaker 2 (57:46):
That's yeah, yeah, right, like back in the day, this
it would practically be a retro game we would call
it at the time. I think Overwatch makes sense. It
definitely made a new track that is happening right now,
you know. At the time, like a lot of what
was excited about was the fact that like, oh wow, somebody,
somebody made a big one of these that's very flashy
(58:07):
and has high production values and it's not a call
of duty, clem, that's neat boy. That game was a
huge breath of fresh air. I remember how much we did,
we say we were about the reload animations and over Watch.
That stuff was so cool for such a long time. Gosh,
it was so fun. I wish I could go back
to how that game felt the first few years when
(58:29):
everyone was playing it, because you know, of course there's
just a natural progression where after a while it gets
sweatier and the people were hanging around taking it very seriously.
And then I didn't necessarily love the free to play
direction it went to, but obviously a hugely important game,
really fun game that stuff. Yeah, and it also kind
of represents the Team Fortress track a little bit, which
(58:50):
I would like to have on there.
Speaker 1 (58:52):
Any sort of like multiplayer, like like what is your
mount rushmore like what you're one entry for a multiplayer
first person mode in a game like Metroid where it
was like kind of felt like an afterthought but still
kind of a slightly bigger deal. I was Metroid Prime
two obviously that that had that multiplayer mode. Yeah, we
did as.
Speaker 2 (59:10):
Well, but yeah, I mean I was trying too. I
wasn't bad. Actually we it was pretty good. I like
the whole even had like an apartment and Rapture was
where you like did your load outs.
Speaker 1 (59:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:25):
I thought the Charge games had really fun multiplayer modes. Literally,
I try for two specively. Those were great. I liked
those multiplayer modes a ton when like they would never
do that now where you had a pretty fleshed out,
competive uti player mode.
Speaker 1 (59:40):
Could you imagine Metrod Prime four launching with the multiplayer mode?
Speaker 2 (59:44):
They couldn't do it with the last last of us
to not having one, and then they're gonna make it
their own game and just kidceled it. That killed that.
That's never happening again.
Speaker 1 (59:53):
Now.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
Yeah multiplayer was fun too?
Speaker 2 (59:57):
Yeah sure, So yeah that was that. Stuff was pretty
great for a while there.
Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
All right, our mount rushmore of multiplayer first person Shooters
is Call of Duty for Modern Warfare, counter Strike, Halo
Combat Evolved, and Overwatch. Uh oh, there's a quick three
are in right there on the shortlist. Everybody, you don't
have to yell at us, all right, excellent work. I'll
get that posted so people can can in fact yell
(01:00:22):
at us, and then we'll come back and talk about
what we've been playing and clean up our super chats
right after this. Hey, we're back. That's still Mike. I'm
still Jeff. We're gonna do more super chats. But first, Mike,
what have you been.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Playing Silent Hill? F been making the good proggies and
that it's been a fun, spooky time, just really interesting.
I'm surprised some people are like, oh, I guess this
still gonna feel like a sold Hill game. I'm not
some expert. I basically have just played the two Silent
Hill two's, But like, if you put the game in
(01:01:00):
front of me and didn't tell me what it was called,
and then like five hours and asked me, what franchise
do you think this game is a part of. It's
obviously Silent Ill. It's so much of that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
And that's not just because it's like they're like boy,
this sure feels like a silent hill. Like they're not
like saying like, that's not the reason you're saying that.
It's because of the vibes in the tongue vibes.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
The tone and even like you know, the enemies. You know,
there are gameplay similarities. I like the combat alone this.
I know some people have not liked it, but I
think it does a really good job of feeling kind
of heavy and panicked and unsophisticating way that like combat
in a horror game should right, like you are just
(01:01:40):
some Japanese schoolgirl, uh, just kind of flailing around, not
that like you know, if it's it doesn't control well,
it just has this sort of heaviness, this sort of
panicness to it that I think there is the game
really well. It's a ton of fun. So yeah, it's great.
I'm hearing about some of the multiple endings. It's even
a bit different than I was expecting, where it's not
(01:02:02):
just the ending's like ooh, maybe your second playthrough is
different in a lot of ways. I'm kind of almost
like maybe I do want to at least play through
it a second time.
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Yeah, people said the new game plus stuff really can
speed things up and you can get through it in
a handful of hours. I'm to say a couple or
a few, but maybe four or five, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
I mean when from Rezuo four came out, I played
through that a ton of times. You know that was
actually just for challenges the game itself doing change to
you know, the second play through is always a lot
faster than the first one. But yeah, it's a boy.
They once again, sale Hill has kind of coming over
delivered here. The franchise is just in a very good
place at the moment.
Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
Yeah, good for Konami. I'm going to start that one
up with the intention of playing through it to getting
one set of credits. H Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna. I
think I'm gonna do it in the morning slots. I've
been doing some of the golf streams in and try
to get a handful of those den in before the
end of October so I can have at least one
more game to talk about when it's end of the
(01:03:01):
year time, which I'm thinking about a lot about right now,
trying to juggle some games. Yeah, we did play a
bunch of golf games, but so that led me to
try one that we've not tried on stream. It was
an Easy Come Easy Golf, which came out several years ago,
but it got an update for Switch to recently. Apparently
the same day that Everybody's Golf Hotshots came out. They
(01:03:24):
were like, hey, let's drop our switch to update that game.
You could tell it's very much made for mobile sort
of originally it's on Apple, Arcade and Switch. And you know,
despite that, which I think is probably a fair thing
to say for this audience and myself, despite that really
solid game, they do this interesting structure of you have
a team of golfers and there's like a lot of
(01:03:46):
three hole challenges where it's like we're just going to
do three holes and there one's going to be like
a par three, one's going to be a part four,
one's going to be a par five, and you have
to pick your team of golfers, and there's one golfer
per hole, and one can be super accurate and one
can have the distance or whatever. There's other differences as well,
but that's the general idea. So you pick your team
and you apply the you know, the long range golfer
(01:04:06):
to the par five and there's also an auto button
they'll just pick your team for you. I've been doing
a lot of that. But then you go on there
and you hit the ball with these various characters, and
it's a really good, solid golf game, and then you
feel like you're making progression really quickly, which is a
stark difference compared to Everybody's Golf Hot Shots, where it
is just this mountain to climb to unlock one character.
(01:04:30):
I'm never gonna it's rare.
Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
You get to start in that game, Like, what, that's
not a thing we do anymore, is it.
Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
It's it's crazy. Yeah, I don't know. I mean even
if we do, it's like this is not traditional for
this series or a series where you could make your
own characters. You can't do that anymore. And Everybody's golf
because again it's a different studio. The original studio is
making this easy come, easy golf game. Yeah, it's it's
it's solid. It's twenty bucks. I think it's overall pretty
(01:04:58):
well made. Even if you could just feel the mobile
mobile miss of it everywhere. It didn't like blow me away,
But it's certainly a much better experience than Everybody's Golf Hotshots,
which is a barren sort of bummer of a game overall,
and then beyond that some more final fantasy taxics. But
I talked about that on nin ten Dogs. That game's
good though, it's it's it's solid. I'm kind of like,
(01:05:20):
I'm really appreciating the early part being like a lot
of mostly ten minute missions. There's, you know, some longer
ones in there for sure, but mostly like ten minute missions.
Makes it really easy to start one up, get through it,
put it down, and then pick it up later in
the day and do the same thing. And I'm doing
kind of maybe right now. I don't have a lot
of time so too, maybe three missions a day, but
(01:05:41):
it's yeah, it's it's it's a solid, solid game, one
that I do find myself gravitating back toward whenever I
like have a little bit of time. So so yeah,
really continue to be really happy with that. Anything else
from you.
Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
I mean, you know, just I'm actually plugging away at
a gaxy to quite a bit now, doing some haities,
two runs here and there. I really want to start
tactics at some point during this week and my big
olds weekend finish soild how two start tactics. There's some
other things I do want to check out absolom now right,
but yeah, plenty of things to do. I've enjoyed playing
(01:06:18):
all these golf games. Actually, Golf Vida games are just fun.
Shout out the Pebble Beach Golf links for the Sega Sider,
which has been my kind of the favorite part of
golf Week so far. Actually with just the weird Craig
Stadler live action inserts and it's just strange nineteen ninety
four digitized graphics Vibe enjoyed that. You know, Kirby's Rink course,
(01:06:42):
we played that. Still a ton of fun. Even that
was the first time I ever played a Nintendo switched
sports and played the golf on dire It's like, yes,
this is neat, this is fun.
Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
It's great.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
You know, it's great that five of us can play that.
And the fact that you just all do your own
stuff at the same time so it moves. You can
do eighteen holes pretty quickly. Fun.
Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
Actually, oh yeah, yeah, it's it's super solid and uh
it's like one of those rare Nintendo games where it's
like they mostly figured out the online. It still has
its quirks but in some of the other stuff, but
uh there it works really well. It's like that in
the bowling, right, everyone bowls at the same time, and
that's the one that where it's really important to get
that they're really those two right. I don't know if
people remember golf didn't launch with the game. It got
(01:07:22):
added later. It was yeah, it was pretty oh so
I don't even I think we did some of it
when it first launched, but yeah, it's you know, I
think you can have up to eight players golfing at
the same time, which is a cool thing because when
everyone's going at this, when everyone is golfing at the
same time, it's kind of like, well, what do we
need a four player limit for Let's get it. Let's
make it a full party. Uh. And you can also
do that locally, right, because you can have eight people
(01:07:44):
with each with one joy con if you have a
four sets of joy Cons. So yeah, it's just kind
of neat. Although I wonder what kind of room what
it would look like in a room of eight people
doing that, all kind of swinging around, flailing in the
same space. Yeah, breaking knuckles left in right.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
Shout shout outs to Golf in It and Super Video Golf,
to indie games that people actually sent us code forward
to check out during Golf week and you had a
good time. Both those aren't Steam Golf in it and
Super Video Golf.
Speaker 1 (01:08:12):
I'm glad you were able to check those out. For sure.
I will. We'll do Mario Golf tomorrow. We'll do uh,
and I'm looking forward to playing some of that dance.
Apparently never played much Mario golf, which really surprises me.
Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
Yeah, that does surprise me.
Speaker 1 (01:08:25):
I guess he played the game Boy Color one, but
he did that recently with the analog pocket and stuff.
So yeah, I think I think it's going to be
impressed because you know that those early Camelot games were
very good.
Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
The Great Told to a Tour on GameCube is fantastic.
Speaker 1 (01:08:39):
I love that. I mean, but I think I think
the best one in the series is the three DS
one because it's like that's the one that had the
really awesome online tournaments. God, that's a good game. All right.
That probably does it for us, right, Mike, anything else?
Speaker 2 (01:08:52):
Uh, just the super chats that we have left here.
Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
Okay, let's do the super chats then, please.
Speaker 4 (01:08:56):
Hey, two xcale early access is good. Don't buy the
one hundred dollars skin ago.
Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
Wait, I thought you said actually a pretty good deal.
Speaker 4 (01:09:06):
I was almost, you know, ship boating a little bit.
You know, now let's get some hard and it's not
and they give you like everything that's on the game now,
but is yeah, one hundred bucks, come on, give him
a break. In another times I might have spent that money,
but nowadays I frugal with my money.
Speaker 1 (01:09:27):
I guess there's gotta be a time where that gets
discounted or something. I don't know, maybe not, we'll see.
Speaker 3 (01:09:32):
Maybe.
Speaker 1 (01:09:33):
All right, Mike hit us with those super.
Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Chats already here we got a few more here from
I went from Tim Nichols says, remember when Dan didn't
know how to listen to NPR, right?
Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
He said? He said, like it was like he's said,
I don't know if I would know how to like
listen to NPR. Is what he said, Like if someone
told me to go listen to NPR, He's like, I
wouldn't know how to do that. It's just like, well,
I mean you could imagine googling that, right, Like did
you would you include googling that and something you're.
Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
Not I don't expect you to like check every AM
radio station you have right come across it, But I
don't know how much.
Speaker 3 (01:10:11):
Him going through the dials NPR.
Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
Is this pr Yeah, I mean fair enough, Matt.
Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Where Monkeys is still on the game pas because of
rewards print the season never paid.
Speaker 1 (01:10:23):
Yeah yeah, I mean people who are doing the Microsoft
rewards points, you keep doing it. You're I mean, they're
getting your data. I mean that's why they do that.
But at whatever, at least you're getting something for your data.
A lot of our other people are just getting my
data for free and not giving me shit.
Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
So you do you, Americle, Thank you again for the
five gifted memberships on YouTube. Appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:10:44):
Matt Ramonkey says, tea to introduce hots so all those
kids start uh here, Yeah boy, I'm like again, like
I liked Team Fortress too, but I like Classic more
TV Fortress too, Like I'm like a purist. I liked
it early on when it was more like Team Fortress Classic.
There's the game on and on. It was like every
character had sixteen different weapons that they could get, and
(01:11:05):
there was there's too much customization for me. I was like, nah,
right now, the deboman should have this gun in this
sub weapon, in this outfit, and that's it. I got
a little too got a little too.
Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
How many people are still playing Team Fortress two every day?
Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
For a while, everyone was like, it's only bots and
apparently it was a giant problem. Oh that's right.
Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
I remember that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
It is a game where it's like, why wouldn't they
make a Team Fortress three? But you know, it's Valve.
They kind of do what they want and it's hard
to tell what they want.
Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
So they peaked at seventy two thousand players today. Maybe
it's all bots, just farming hats to sell. I don't
know if it's all bots, like who are you selling
the hats to?
Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
But whatever, I know, it's it doesn't make any sense
to me. It's going right over there. Adam Stein says,
go Cubs, Go Tigers. Frick Ice. Are you excited for
your uh make or break game tomorrow?
Speaker 1 (01:11:58):
Yeah, it's it's it's pretty exciting because the Red Wings
loss really bad today, and that's a good portent for
our other Detroit teams. That's how it usually goes. One
has to be excruciatingly bad and that means the other
teams are going to be pretty good. And also scoobles
back on the mound and they started hitting. I'm pretty excited.
Speaker 3 (01:12:17):
It's like the four the balance in the force. You know,
one of you had to see.
Speaker 1 (01:12:21):
It's Yes, that's scruciating.
Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
Three to the four, to the five, to the putt,
tomorrow's maker break. Can you make the cut?
Speaker 1 (01:12:30):
I hope? So thanks for asking.
Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
Jason Vonice. As we get baseball, this has me chailing
my Philly sports sorrow into something positive. You guys, ll
thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:12:38):
Jason, Sorry, Jason, Yeah, it's rough.
Speaker 2 (01:12:41):
Man. Dodgers is always going to be a tough one
to beat in the postseason right now, So yeah, to
be having to go through them.
Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
Just get the best baseball player in the world and
don't pay them for twenty years or whatever the fuck
it is. Why don't you just do that? Yeah, Jayson, come.
Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
On on the bright sid The Eagles are losing to
the Giants right now, and the Giants aren't very good.
Didn't have said that?
Speaker 1 (01:13:06):
Okay, spare the man.
Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
My bad, my bad Ah. Next up is from Toe Morales,
Halo finally made it on a game as amount Rushmore
trying em. He did it.
Speaker 1 (01:13:21):
We're proud of him. Absolutely well done. Did it? We
did it?
Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
Uh? Next up it's from Hey to Texas taking the
day off work tomorrow. I'm playing Baffled six all day.
Let me know if you need another. Sure, but that
sounds fun. Yeah, just a whole day for a game. Man.
Speaker 1 (01:13:35):
Yeah, Like, how big can a party be in Battlefield?
Could we like have a bunch of people in there
from the community.
Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
And they can join your your match if there's like.
Speaker 1 (01:13:50):
We'll do that, We'll do that. Let's so we'll do
We'll do us, We'll do our four and then everyone
will try to make it as easy as possible for
people to join on us. And I'll like, oh that
or maybe Christian, you can yes.
Speaker 4 (01:14:01):
I don't know the portal of stuff work. Maybe you
can make something there where you can have all your friends.
And so I'm gonna check that out once that's out,
because it's no doubt it wasn't out during the review period.
Speaker 1 (01:14:11):
Right, Okay, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
Look, guys, I'm allowed to make fun of anybody sports here.
I'm'm a Cleveland sports. Yeah, you know, we're not exactly
having a great moment ourselves defending super Bowl champions.
Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
They can be knocked down a peg. Hell, everyone loses
all the time except for the Lions. So yeah, it's fine.
And now now We're definitely gonna lose this week because
I said that, So don't worry.
Speaker 2 (01:14:37):
That stuff is J l A. Naps put on some
vixed rub rest up in Sleep Night. But I haven't
done vixed rubble. I don't. I don't think vix rub
is a good fit for chest hair.
Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
No, that's like, that's one of the most disgusting things
I've ever thought about, now that you said it like that, Yeah, oh,
I don't like.
Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
Also, I have a seat pat machine, so I think
it would work anyway. But I'll just I'll just put
some of it on my water.
Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:15:04):
Yeah, Forrest Whitaker's character in and Or, like Huff's gas
or whatever. And that's what I'm imagining you being like, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
Okay, I figured this out. This is good. This is
good snack that says, please play rippet King multiplayer.
Speaker 1 (01:15:21):
I love you a lot of love for ribbitt King
out there. It's it's frisbee golf. That's still golf. I
will try to find a spot for that at some point,
but it's probably not gonna make it.
Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
For God, there might be another golf week sometimes play
of things we didn't get around to playing. Some day
we'll get someday we'll come back to last Geek says,
I had a bad day at work. Take some of
my money, so I know my bad day is going
to hope some awesome people. Oh sorry here, but that
last week. Hope you have a better day at work.
Speaker 1 (01:15:51):
Yeah, absolutely sorry, really apologize and hanging there, and thanks
for hanging out with us. We appreciate that that.
Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
The contractors hit your guest line too.
Speaker 1 (01:16:02):
I can't believe Dan Riker died. That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:16:06):
Andrew Steward says, d Yankees, Sure.
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
The evil has been defeated.
Speaker 3 (01:16:21):
What's your team? What are these losers? You know what?
I'm not gonna even.
Speaker 2 (01:16:27):
Bet their team? Does that have as big of a
sarar cap as you with fewer winds than the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
Came in?
Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
Let's see it now. Chuck Towsky says, I saw that
the Browns are technically paying a quarterbacks right now, including
a k to Kenny the franchise picket. Oh, it's a
Jesus awful organization, everybody, it's just the I get I
do get upset that the Browns could be this terrible
and upsetting and just kind of repugnant and like still
(01:17:00):
in Cleveland, it's a it's a football city and just
kind of always will be. Like guys or baseball team
competes every year. They're like, yeah, but they're not the
Indians anymore. Ah, Like you.
Speaker 5 (01:17:09):
Didn't like that much when they were the Indians either.
You only cared about it when you could complain about
the lack of racism. The Caps are pretty good, but
we don't have like a superstar doing ads anymore, so
they don't care as much. Even though even when we
have Lebron again, people still like the Browns more.
Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
It's just it's just people are just so football pilled.
I like football as well. I think it's de facto's
places as most people's favorite sport is a little is
a little much sometimes.
Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
Yeah, it's uh, I mean, I know why I like it.
It's the specialization because there's, uh, there are there's a
sumo wrestling match happening, and then like the fastest guy
you've ever fucking seen on the same field at the
same time, and that owns. That doesn't seem to be
why most people like it though, So you're right, I'm
always a little bit confused.
Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
Yeah, and that's if it's super chests.
Speaker 1 (01:17:56):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
Everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
All right, it's gonna mostly that's gonna do it for
the show. I'm gonna hit the button.
Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
We'll before we go.
Speaker 1 (01:18:04):
Yeah, please hit it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:05):
Community events, we're we're having a Lego Party party this Saturday.
Miss the time, but yeah, check the check discord.
Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
So if like, let's say six people show up, are
they gonna split up in like two groups of three
and have two Lego parties going at the same time,
like do it?
Speaker 4 (01:18:23):
But they said they're gonna they might have copies of
the game to give away, so check that.
Speaker 2 (01:18:28):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
I love this community. You guys are great stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:18:31):
I really like leg Party with for us to play more.
Speaker 1 (01:18:35):
Definitely had a meeting today and talked about like when
can we play that game again? So yeah, we're figuring
it out, like want to play on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
We also have Powerwatch similar with game Night. So there's
some stuff going on in the community.
Speaker 3 (01:18:47):
Go check the discord. Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
Similar power Simulator to on on the fancy criticals please
about that. Yeah, that's I think that's a good move
that games said and super tight just beating mount Faith
control or to had less stick drips And my wife
doesn't care, so that's impressive. Tim, Well, that's actually crazy
well done for sure, way down Code or whatever whatever
(01:19:11):
it's called. Absolutely are you Are you taking a break
from Silksong? Are you still playing that? What's going on?
Speaker 1 (01:19:17):
I'm like, I'm because I started Final Fantasy Tactics. It's uh,
that's what's on my switch right now rather than that.
But I'm not really taking a break from I intend
to go back to it. I just haven't had time again.
I'm traveling this weekend, but I might. I might just
use this, like, I'll get some time around the hotel
when we're there to play a game. I'll try to
finish up Silk Song. How long is Act three? Because
(01:19:37):
I'm a little bit into it.
Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
It's not it's not nearly as long as Act too.
Speaker 1 (01:19:42):
Right, Okay, So I feel like I can just see
it through and I'm just gonna do it. I like
that game so so so much.
Speaker 2 (01:19:47):
It's amazing, and I do miss it. Gosh. But yeah,
so many things to play.
Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
Yep, so many things to play. Yeah. I was like,
you know, all those games got mentioned earlier. I watched
them are absolute absolute God. Now I'm gonna I'm gonna
get worse at saying that game's name every single time.
I need to hear the developers say Yeah, the Pokemon
building up to the metro for Outer World too. Yeah,
don't forget.
Speaker 2 (01:20:15):
God, everybody every time some I forget that.
Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
Man, Catch you next time, everybody. Also, I gotta beat
Boulders K three with jan Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
Yeah, you guys are right on that, making incredible progress. Yeah, God.
Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
Love the
Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
