Trey examines why TCU basketball star Sedona Prince, despite her impressive 6'7" height and stellar college stats, went undrafted in the WNBA due to multiple off-court allegations against her.

• Sedona Prince averaged 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks at TCU
• Prince previously gained attention for exposing inequalities in women's basketball facilities on TikTok
• Multiple allegations against Prince include unwanted physical contact and other concerning incidents
• Comparison with other professional athletes shows pattern of teams avoiding players with off-court issues
• Despite first-round talent and height that "cannot be taught," character concerns ultimately kept teams away

Speaker 1 (00:02):

It's your favorite show'sfavorite show.
Get a Bucket.
I'm your host, trey, and, asusual, I hope you're all having
a wonderful, wonderful day Now.
Today we're going to talk aboutSedona Prince and why she wasn't
drafted in the WNBA.
Are her WNBA dreams over?
We'll talk about it, but beforewe do that, please make sure to
hit that like and subscribebutton.
Comment.
Tell anyone who's anyone aboutthe show.

(00:22):
I'm trying to get the ratingsup a little bit, just a little
bit.
But like I said, ladies andgentlemen, today we're going to
talk about Sedona Prince and allher WNBA dreams over.
And you might be wondering whois Sedona Prince?
Well, she's number 13 rightthere.
She played for TCU, ladies andgentlemen.
She is a 6'7 stud.
You know what I'm saying.

(00:43):
Out of TCU, she can get abucket.
Matter of fact, sedona actuallyput women's college basketball
on the map a little bit more, because she actually stated
their facilities were lacklusterin terms of the upkeep right,
in terms of what they were givenaccess to, and she put that on
her TikTok account and, as aresult, she went viral because
of that.

(01:03):
So you want to give a shout outto Sedona Prince at least for
doing that right.
However, why did Sedona Princenot get drafted?
Again, I said six, seven, right, you would think, just off the
height alone, she might want toget draft considerations.
You would think so.
You would think so.
Well, I do think that it was alittle bit different, ladies and
gentlemen, in terms of why wedid not get it.

(01:25):
But before we talk about whyshe didn't get drafted, let's
look at Sedona Prince overall,right.
So, overall, sedona Princeplayed at Oregon, played at TCU
split time in college duringthis time, all right.
So here's the thing.
These numbers are not actuallyaccurate, to be honest with you.
They're not, because, well, ifwe went to her overall stats,

(01:45):
they look more like this You'regoing to see what she did at TCU
18 points, nine rebounds, 3.2blocks.
That's pretty good, right there, that's pretty stellar.
And, ladies and gentlemen, I'mgoing to just read off real
quick her overall pointproduction it was 14.7 rebounds,
1.8 assists, 0.7 steals, 2.2blocks, 1.5 turnovers, 2.4 fouls

(02:10):
on 56 percent shooting 29 fromthe field, 29 from three and 74
from the free throw.
Those are not bad stats, rightthere to read off, especially
given she's six, seven.
You can work with that ifyou're a wmba team, right, like
you?
You might, you think you canwork with that.
If you're a WNBA team, right, like, you think you can work
with that, she might be able toshoot better than Carmela

(02:30):
Cardoza.
All right, like, that's whatwe're thinking.
So again, 6'7".
You cannot teach height, ladiesand gentlemen.
So now begs the question well, why did she not get drafted?
You're hearing all thesewonderful things about Sedona
Prince.
Why did she not get drafted?
You're hearing all thesewonderful things about Sedona
Prince.
Why did she not get drafted?
Well, ladies and gentlemen, there were a couple of rumblings
about Sedona Prince having alittle bit of issues when it

(02:54):
comes to, when it comes to offthe court antics.
Right, started back in,apparently 2019, where Sedona
actually locked up, allegedlylocked the woman in a car and
fondled her and then threatenedto charge.
Threatened to charge becausethe woman did not actually come
forward with the story.
Apparently, so, because of that, she was saying well, you know
that's slander if you don't haveany evidence.

(03:15):
So I get why Sedona threatenedto charge, right, the lady that
was accusing her.
You got to come forward withthat situation If you're going
to make that statement.
You got to come forward.
You got to come forward withthat situation.
If you're going to make thatstatement, you got to come
forward with evidence.
So I understand why, but still, that's going to make people
focus on Sedona because thatstory is out there.
So that's just one allegationout there, right.
Then we had another situationwhere apparently she made a

(03:38):
woman penetrate Sedona, sedonamade a woman penetrate herself
with her hands right, and it wasunwanted.
Now that's two times.
Now that we've got anotherwhere we got allegations and
incidents going across.
One time we can excuse, we cansay, all right, cool, someone
was lying.
Maybe second time you're goingto start having a lot of
doubters.
So again, this is two instances, ladies and gentlemen, and over

(03:59):
quite a recent span.
Then we got another incidentwhere apparently she pushes a
woman off a back of a moving ATVand then drove off while drunk
and then came back eventually.
That's another allegation rightthere that we got to work out.
And then there was a physicalaltercation with a former
partner and they both filedassault charges, right, and

(04:22):
neither were eventually charged.
But still, that's fourincidents right there that we're
dealing with.
And we're talking about the WNBAor professional sports in
general.
We do want to have some levelof professionalism.
We don't want to have a lot ofdistractions, and that's what's
perceived when we're dealingwith Sedona Prince.
So again, ladies and gentlemen,I do understand, although you

(04:44):
see wonderful stats from Sedona, what I just read off might be a
little unappealing when youtalk about the WNBA.
So again, ladies and gentlemenand it's not just me, too, being
biased towards Sedona Prince wecould talk about other players
as well and how they have beendealt with, such as a Liz

(05:06):
Cambage right, I got to go onfull screen for this one almost
With Liz.
Me personally, I have said thatshe was trash for the way she
handled various situations, suchas how she quit on the Sparks
even though you can say I'mbiased.
She quit on us because you know, nine games into the season,
right.
Then we had this wholesituation where she elbows

(05:27):
somebody in the face in game.
Oh, that's a little ugly andit's very intentional too.
It's not a basketball play andI understand about.
In the 60s, 70s, 80s, peoplewere kind of rough and rugged
right on the court.
Not like that, though.
It's a little bit different,it's a little bit more malicious
.
So again, we've seen playerseventually get suspended.

(05:51):
Like I talk about Liz Cambage, like I'm not the biggest fan of
Liz Cambage and I stand uponthat.
So I get why Sedona Prince wasnot drafted.
You know like it'sunderstandable.
Again, this is Liz Cambage, howabout?

(06:12):
Ok, y'all, y'all, y'all don'tbelieve me, so I'm being fair,
that's fine, that's fine.
How about someone like BrandonMiller?
Brandon Miller was accused ofBrandon Miller.
Brandon Miller was accused of?
Well, he was part of a gunsituation where, long story
short, somebody used a gun thathe had access to.
Long story short, his case wasdismissed months.
His case was ultimatelydismissed.

(06:32):
Long story short, nothing to becharged with, end of day.
So he gets to play.
Hence why you see him in theCharlotte Hornets jersey.
Right, I know a lot of peoplehad gripes about Miles Bridges
Because Miles got hemmed up in asituation where didn't he have
like some domestic altercationskind of thrown against him and

(06:58):
those charges were dropped dueto lack of evidence.
But when they were sticking, hey, he wasn't playing.
So again I get why Sedona isn'tdrafted, because we've seen
various situations where peopleweren't playing.
Look at Miles Bridges and nowhe is playing because, again,

(07:19):
his charges were dropped.
How about someone like JontaePorter?
Because, again, his ass ain'tplaying at all Because he was
found guilty for shaving points, basically, and Buddy won't get
that much PT, so maybe that wasthe reason why he thought he had
to, but he got caught and hewas banned.
So so again, ladies andgentlemen, if you are guilty of

(07:42):
stuff, I do understand.
If she is guilty of these things, I understand why Sedona Prince
is not on the NBA team, wnbateam, and I would be curious if
she does get selected on a WNBAteam, because I mean, there are
players with hype coming intothe league now.
So I mean, yes, you cannotteach height.
6'7 is admirable to have onyour squad.

(08:03):
It's not a need, though.
It's not a need.
How about even someone likethis one's funny, terry Rozier?
Because, again, he's involvedallegedly in a scandal, but
there's no evidence.
That's kind of giving him upright now.
So because of that, he's ableto play.

(08:23):
My knowledge, that's my intel.
So again, ladies and gentlemen, all I'm saying is, when it comes
to Sedona Prince, I understand,I understand why she ain't get
drafted and I thought she was afirst round caliber player.
I thought she could have beenin the conversations, maybe for

(08:46):
top five, because, again, youcannot teach height.
But what you need more is apositive working environment,
and that's what the WNBA is.
It's a work environment.
Still, let's not forget, it'ssports, but it's still a job.
It's still a professional game.
Can't mess up the money, andthat's what will happen.
So, again, I understand whySedona Prince was not selected

(09:09):
in the WNBA draft and I'mcurious if she will ever get a
chance to play.
Maybe her dreams are not over.
Maybe she can get a chance toreturn.
Maybe the charges aren'tsticking Right.
Maybe she's able to paint herpicture and paint herself in a
better picture.
We'll find out.
But again, this just goes toshow you, ladies and gentlemen,
it doesn't matter how talentedyou are.

(09:30):
Again, this was a first roundcaliber player, someone who
could have been top five.
She dominated in college.
Doesn't matter Off the courtmatters greatly when it comes to
the game of basketballprofessionally.
So I definitely hope y'all havelearned something.
That's all I got.
So, with that being said, Idefinitely hope y'all all
enjoyed it.
Thank you all for listening.
