In this message, Pastor Mike Stevens teaches on Core Value #5: This should not be the last generation of pastors. Jesus still calls people to ministry, and the need remains great. The church must create room for the next generation, resist the temptation to “eat pastors alive,” and encourage those stepping into their calling. Scripture reminds us that while not everyone is called to vocational ministry, every believer must be willing if God calls.
Pastor Mike also warns that ministry is both full and challenging — Jesus Himself sent His disciples out “as sheep among wolves.” Those called must put on the full armor of God, and those not called must avoid becoming wolves through biting, destroying, or discouraging. Instead, we are called to be ladder-bearers who lift up future leaders. Every believer has a next step with Jesus, and embracing that step leads to the abundant life Christ promised.
