GRAND PARKWAY BAPTIST CHURCH
1. Hope is born of consideration and comparison, v. 18
consider- “to reckon, count, compute, calculate, count over to take into account, to make an account of and mediate on.”
2. God does what He does in hope, v. 19-21
Three things that sustain creation…
a) there is Someone behind it all, v. 20
b) His motivation is hope, v. 20
c) He is redeeming everything He created, v. 21
3. You need the right hope, v. 22-25
We don’t experience power in relation to our hope for two reasons…
a) there’s a lot of groaning going on- “to sigh with grief”
b) we have the wrong hope, v. 23-24
4. Hope involves waiting, v. 25
“I will put enmity between you and the women, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” -Genesis 3:15
Mental worship…
What would you feel better about if you engaged in consideration and comparison?
Does your parenting teach your kids to depend on God, themselves or you?
What are you “groaning” about these days?
Is there anything you are hoping for but cannot see?
Are you currently waiting for anything and how does that feel?
