IF YOU WON’T DO IT, NO BODY ELSE WILL DO IT.” -KKThis episode features Kuba Kawnik who was born in Łódź, Poland. For the last decade calls Nashville, Tennessee in the United States home. Travelling is part of his nature as a multi-instrumentalist guest entertainer. He is best known for his performances on a vibraphone, using a specialized 4-mallet technique as well as the unique and eery theremin instrument. For many years Kuba has been travelling the globe performing on different cruise lines with his own show, however he is currently on The Quantum of the Seas performing with Robert in Sonic Odyssey as the Earth Harpist. This is a lovely surprise for Robert as he met Kuba a year ago for a few weeks as he was being introduced to this unique production but they never had a chance to perform together until now.“I JUST LOVE MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY, I LOVE THAT PEOPLE AROUND ME ARE HAPPY, I REALLY DO, IF THEY ARE NOT, IT HURTS ME A LITTLE BIT.” -KKRobert was also pleasantly surprised with how friendly, gentle and laid back Kuba is for being a Polish person. It is so awesome to have stereotypes shattered with our day to day interactions with new people from around the world. Kuba is passionate not only about music but health and happiness as well. He acknowledges that health is the greatest wealth and the key to being capable of doing what we wish. He invests in this with regular exercise. Robert was so surprised how sympathetic Kuba is in regards to how he truly cares for other people’s wellbeing. It is one of his greatest joys to make people happy and smile. This is due to his friendly social nature and charm. However he also acknowledges his challenges with bouts of laziness and anger which is all part of being human.“I USED TO BE A BELIEVER, I WAS RAISED IN A CATHOLIC FAMILY. BUT ONE TIME THERE WAS A METAMORPHOSIS, AND BOOM, IT HAPPENED RIGHT AWAY. IF YOU WOULD ASK ME, HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE YOU TO DO THIS METAMORPHOSIS, I WOULD SAY ONE DAY. YES OF COURSE I WAS THINKING ABOUT IT FOR A LONG TIME, AND THEN BOOM, IT HAPPENED. AND I AM A MUCH BETTER PERSON FOR IT.” -KKKuba also spoke strongly about not being a ‘Believer’ in religion, but in self reliance. The importance in developing yourself and being aware of your capacity and potential to continually learn and problem solve. Kuba’s music and personality are welcoming to people of all ages and races. He is a smart, confident, hard working man who is working on expanding his show to the Chinese market.
