Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, you remember a couple of weeks ago, hammer
President Trump issued this executive order declaring a quote crime
ember agency in Washington, d C. Took federal control of
the city's police department, rampant violence blah blah blah, overtaken
by violent gangs, bloodthirsty criminals, and you know, brought in

(00:24):
the National Guard and federal agents. And a couple of
weeks later, I feel like I thought I heard him
on Fox and Friends this morning saying.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
My friends were going out to dinner deestinat in Washington,
d C. You can actually watch the streets again. And
fifty two arrests in DC last night, including an MS
thirteen gang member.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
I like it. I like it like I don't know outwardly.
You know, we live in Indiana. I'm just saying I'm
going by what I'm reading and what Trump has said.
Looks like it's been a success so far.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
And if you look at the latest statistics provided by
the District of Columbia Police Unit, Okay, that's basically the
group that puts together all the crime numbers in DC,
carjackings have plummeted by eighty three percent, robberies forty six percent,
violent crime twenty two percent and car thefts by twenty

(01:23):
one percent in just seven days. Nine in seven days
since the federal takeover seven plus those are some impressive numbers.
Carjackings down eighty three percent. Pam Bondi, the Attorney General,
she put out on Twitter quote at the direction of
President Trump, our nation's capital is a safer place and

(01:48):
we're just getting started. Fifty two arrests were made last night,
including an MS thirteen gang member, and nine firearms were
taken off the streets. Since our mission began, there have
been a total of four hundred and sixty five arrests,
sixty eight guns seized, and charges for homicide, narcotics, firearm offences.

(02:10):
Nearly half of those arrests occurred in the high crime
areas of Washington.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
D C.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Residents and tourists alike appreciate this effort by DC and
federal law enforcement. And that's the thing, right Like the locals,
they love what's going on here. The only people that
are ticked off that the Feds win in are people
like Adam Schiff, never Trump, Republicans like Liz Cheney or

(02:37):
Adam Kenzinger. But if you get on social media, specifically
Instagram or TikTok, and you kind of just start going
down a rabbit hole of what locals think. They love
this nige. Here's a little montage. Now, keep in mind
these are all predominantly from black communities in Washington, DC.

(02:59):
Listen to what they have to say about what's happening
right now with this federal takeover, with the cleanup of crime,
and compare it to what you hear from say CNN
or MSNBC.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Man, down, the city is quiet as it.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
I came all the way down Pennsylvania Avenue this morning,
so peaceful.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
I own some on no weave young. I don't see
no homeless people.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
I mean, I came all the way through the southeast side,
all the way down here.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
It's quiet. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
I don't understand it, and I don't think I ever will.
There's people that's not from the city saying DC's not
that bad. Why is it from Denver, Colorado saying DC's
not that bad? And Trump is just trying to be
a dictator game DC is faking like God from city brouh,

(03:53):
Like y'all do not know y'all out of town as
more mind y'all business, bro, Do.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
You not understand that this is what the residents want.
I'm not talking about the bougie upper echelon's bougie blacks.
I'm talking about the everyday grandmas that have to deal
with these homeless people peeing and pooping on their steps
and then they have to clean it up. They don't
feel safe when they walk into their neighborhood. The gangs

(04:21):
and the drug the dope boys are just standing around
the corner, you know, like, do you not understand this
is what they want?

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Now?

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Those are three people, Nige, that's just a hunch. Don't
own a maga hat going on social media saying, hey, outsiders,
set this one out.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
We like what's going on here, and I want to clarify.
Trump made those comments about his friends being able to
go to dinner with Zelenski at his side during their
meeting yesterday.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Friends are calling me up. Democrats calling me up. Democrats
are calling me up. They're saying, sir, we.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Want to thank you. My wife and I went to
dinner last night for the first time in four years.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
And Washington, d C. Is safe.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
And you did that in four years or you did
that in four days.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Right, and now, if you're somebody that's looking about what's
taking place in d C. And you're wanting it to
take place in your city, in your community. The rules
are different. Okay, we've talked about this. DC has different
rules than a state with a major city. But if

(05:36):
your governor feels like they need a little help from
the National Guard or the Feds or whatever, they just
have to ask. That's it. Or if you're in a
state that has a governor that does not work with ICE.
Now we're hearing some chatter, a little scuttle butt, shall

(05:57):
we that the White House is going to say, Okay,
if you're not going to work with ICE, we're going
to override your decision and declare a federal emergency and
then we will clean up your cities. And much like Washington, DC,
you're going to see talking heads on television say this
is a problem, but the people in those cities go,

(06:20):
thank you. We've been waiting for somebody to clean up
this mess.
