Several injured players are now entering the 21-day window to return, including rookie cornerback Shavon Revel. What can we expect from him? Should he be brought along slowly? And is too much pressure being put on DeMarvion Overshown to be the linebacking savior? Plus, will we continue to see more blitzing and man coverage? Sounds like maybe not.

Speaker 6 (00:46):
You look alive at Tostitos Championship Plaza outside Ford Center
at the Star in Frisco, Texas, where it is seventy
seven degrees, the highest seventy nine, the lowest sixty one.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
I like these cooler temperatures, a little bit good weather
right here. That is Shannon Gross here as they do.
And this is Kirk two pumped Daniels, because three pumps
will get you what Nate, It will get you a
a flag in the back. Chris keeping a fly and
local I am salt and pepper Poppa. You have the
we make Hanging with the boys, the sports talk, Aquila,

(01:22):
the brow people. When we speak, brought.

Speaker 6 (01:28):
To you by Wingstops, the wingstock eating on that stuff
all day long.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Let me ask you, so what what?

Speaker 5 (01:39):
Before you say it?

Speaker 6 (01:41):
There are very few things because we've tested the limits.
Very few things that we will get taken off the
air for. And one of them was one we were
talking about before the show started and we were so passionate.
Nobody had their headphones on because we were so engrossed
in this conversation. So just to reminder Nate, we can't
say that. We are not allowed to say.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
I was gonna even talk about that. I was gonna
about something aboudy to weed. I know in the Indian
culture back in the old days, and if an Indian
person will invite you in, I'm talking about real Indian
here in America.

Speaker 7 (02:18):
NATICA were about to get canceled.

Speaker 8 (02:25):
I've read up on it, multiple things that we could
get taken off the air force, and we're gonna probably.

Speaker 9 (02:31):
Approach you know what, anyway, go ahead, No, I'm not
when you were invited into a Native America.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Y'all got me scared to death. I am not to
say this because it'll be somebody. Oh man, I got
a hand to get some money off of Nate. I
am scared. I wouldn't talk about it later. Now you
all are right, thank you? Tell us to break Yeah, yeah, okay,
that's all right to say that. Okay, yeah, we can
look it up. You know, there's like I already had.

(03:13):
Oh man, got me scared to death, up and go
outead boldness broke me quick.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I read up on this all right, oh man, Well
one thing we can't talk about the song.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Kurt looked at me, Kirk.

Speaker 10 (03:29):
I'm distancing myself.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
So you want to stop him. I'm gonna stop him.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Oh wow, whoa. So I will say this because we
have the Denver defense tomorrow correct in our offense correct.
So I'm gonna ask you, Jesse, are we just gonna
either just look at the fourth quarter of the New
York game or the whole thing? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Right, I would take calls today too, right, Yeah, he
caught five to seven, eight, five, five to twoine seventh.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
I didn't watch that game. Was it just.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
Was it a good game? Or was it just did
Denver just not show up? They just decided not to
wake up till the fourth courter. I watched most of
this game. I'm watching it again, you know, you just
go through it, and uh, they was making some plays,
but number forty four and the dark kid.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Was just crushing them on. You know, because I've looked
at it's just the their defense different. But then when
the fourth quarter came, like Denver was a better team,
you know, like the defense just and also like.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
A note coming out of that game that will impact
our game. Drake Greenlaw their their star linebacker. Remember Drake
green Law from this time in San Francisco. Currently right
now he's suspended for the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Guess right, that's a big.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
That's weird big, It's yeah, what happened? What so Chris
and I was looking at it in the back after
they kicked the game, when the field goal, he makes
a bee line right for the official on the field
and and and some people are saying it's because that
that official called a one of the officials called a

(05:16):
passing apperance on the Denver defense that gave the Giants
an opportunity I believe to score in regulation or was
it enough one of the times. But he had a
couple of words for that ref and like dressed him
down and was like following him and screaming at him.
The ref through a flag for unsportsman like conduct after
the game was officially over. So the NFL has suspended

(05:39):
Drake Greenlaw. Now they're saying he's appealing it. So I
don't know if that's gonna uphold or be upheld and
just be a fine. But right now, especially the way
the league is going about this whole sportsman sportsmanship and
all this kind of stuff, they've been real real going
hard on that sportsmanship.

Speaker 11 (05:57):
They'll support the ref, I would hope.

Speaker 6 (05:59):
So I have a question for you guys, because I know,
I know you can. You can talk bad bad to
other players. You can say some some really not cool
stuff on the field right and get away with it.
What can you say and not say to a ref?
Because baseball there's a line you can get to a

(06:21):
certain thing.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
I don't think you can threaten. I think if I
think if there was a threat to cuss them, you
can cuss.

Speaker 11 (06:27):
I think for a while, at least base point. If
you drop the F bomb, you were tossed like, I
don't know if that's still.

Speaker 12 (06:32):
Well, there's a couple of other things too. I'm assuming yeah, yeah,
full Durham, that's what it was.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
But I think I think if you're like, you know,
if you're saying like hey you suck or you know,
back call or horrible col bull, you know, and all
that kind of stuff, I think I think that flies,
but I think when it comes to the official, when
you look at that particular situation, if the threats coming,
I'll kick your or I should if you get personal

(07:01):
and stuff like that, or there's some sort of slurs
that are thrown in there, I think that's when you
kind of cross the line. But in the heat of
the moment, I mean, there's a lot of things being said,
you know, on the field to one another, and then
when the ref makes a bad call. You know, you
can see guys foaming at the mouth. Bull bleep, bleep,
be bleeping.

Speaker 7 (07:19):
And for the most part, NFL refs are pretty understanding
that this is an aggressive, emotional game, and like you
don't see a lot of you know, it seems like
in basketball, refs get involved sometimes too much in the game,
but in football, it seems like unless you do just
some bad stuff, like they kind of stay out spit

(07:41):
on somebody, punch, somebody getting in your face and stuff,
they seem to stay.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Kind of out of it.

Speaker 6 (07:46):
So I just wondered what you can say to an
actual ref. I know, you can dress another player down,
but you don't.

Speaker 11 (07:52):
Think being one of the side judges on the sideline.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Oh, you probably hear.

Speaker 10 (07:57):
Because you're in it behind you, in front of my god.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Everybody from the sun like you and even the fans,
fans and the players on the sideline.

Speaker 6 (08:04):
Yeah, dude, being a ref for a Philly game in Philly,
that's got to be the worst.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
And speaking of ref in that same uh, well, in
the Seattle game the second the Monday night football game
last night, they had a player where the Jackson Smith
and Jigma is taking Stingley Junior out of bounds and
he gets, you know, pushing to the bench and you
see the referee come flying in to like protect Jackson Jigma.
It's the great Nate Jones, who was a Dallas Cowboys

(08:32):
in the Bill Parcells era.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
He's a ref.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Yeah, he's an official. Jones was drafted here by about
Bill Parcells. He was drafted about Bill Parcels out of Rutgers,
Jersey guy. I've known Nate since I've been in high school.
So yeah, so it was cool to see Nate, former
player seven eight years in the leaguing Nate played. Huh
he jumped in there. Yeah, he jumped in there. Nate's
you know Jersey guy. Let's go that's that.

Speaker 7 (08:56):
That's that player mentality taken over.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
Yeah, he just jumped in.

Speaker 10 (09:00):
Wait a minute, I don't have pads on their helmet.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Nate's a good Nate's a good dude, man, So I'm.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Thank you you are.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
I say this to other people when people go one
name Nate, like when they just go Nate, like for instance,
like Nate Thomas. Right when people just saying, oh yeah, Nate,
d Nate. I was like, there's only one guy that
can go around here by just Nate. He's Nate Thomas. Like,
we didn't go play around with his whole Nate thing.
So I messed up my own Nate Nate Jones. There's

(09:32):
only one Nate. You got to make sure that you
say there's only one Nate.

Speaker 6 (09:36):
They had certain buildings, there's certain names that only one
person can have.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah all right.

Speaker 12 (09:43):
By the way, that's gonna cost him a quite pretty penny.
I just did the calculations for his salary.

Speaker 7 (09:48):
Who free law.

Speaker 12 (09:50):
Yeah, you don't want to lose this, at least I
wouldn't two hundred and eighty two thousand dollars ouch for
not playing in that game.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
That doesn't That doesn't help you control your emotions. Nothing
will over over a quarter mil for you know, this
is the part and time. And I know this for
a fact because I felt this not that kind of fine.
But you know, you lose a job or you lose money,
and you don't get your money's worth. Like in that moment,
he's probably thinking, I'm gonna cust this rough out. Then

(10:21):
you get suspended for a game and it's two hundred
and eighty plus thousand dollars, He's like.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
I should have gotten all.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Yeah, you know I felt the same way. I'm like,
I lost my job and I didn't even do nothing.
I should have.

Speaker 10 (10:32):
I was looking at his breakdown, it says roster per game.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
You don't think he's still be on the roster.

Speaker 13 (10:38):
Though, right, Yeah, okay, good, So his roster per game
is one hundred and eighty thousand, so oh for a
lot too, and that's somewhere around that'd be additional still,
I mean yeah, I mean another like geez, all right,
a lot of injury news updates.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
It's official.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
I think we talked about it on the show yesterday
with the overshown tweeting. Right now we have official twenty
one day windows on multiple people.

Speaker 11 (11:05):
Kurt Yeah, also Cooper BB, which would be nice to
get him back there at the center. And then the
young kid, the rookie Ravel, he has yet to play.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
He has a window, Cooper as he just come in.

Speaker 11 (11:17):
No, it's a window twenty one days. So these guys
could come back. I think it's the week after the
after the by heading into that Vegas game, So I
would guess. I would guess BB for sure would be back,
But you know, I don't know Revel. It's hard telling
with Reveel and Overshown, because I guess they have to
otherwise they're they're done for the year, done for the year,

(11:37):
but they're both coming back to pretty major injuries.

Speaker 6 (11:40):
So you would think those two guys in particular would
take the whole twenty one days right because they haven't
had anything right. And then BB, maybe a little bit
sooner possibly could come just because he had some reps
in camp and stuff. So be it Trot, What tell
me a little bit about this Revel kid, because it
seems like there's a lot of excitem is that all

(12:00):
fan generated is if.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Anybody can tell you about Revel their fantasy, their fantasy,
that's all the I want to go off so bad,
do it? But we can't mention names. So that's why
I'm gonna save myself from getting ejected out of this.

(12:24):
That's why if anybody can tell you about this kid,
you have to go ask the trainers because they have
been had the most hands on with this kid than anybody,
even the coaches. Go ask the trainers. Okay, that's all
I leave it at that, all right.

Speaker 11 (12:41):
You showed a lot of promise in college. We didn't
didn't play a whole lot in college.

Speaker 6 (12:44):
Because it's yeah, that's what I was wondering all the hype.

Speaker 7 (12:48):
Is it just cowboy fans being cowboy fans?

Speaker 4 (12:51):
You want to see what you don't know coming out
of college? They they he's one of these kids. Went
to ECU, and most people thought that if he got
into the transfer portal that he would have easily been
one of the hottest transfer parents of portal commodities out
there and went to one of the big time programs.
But he for he fourgaled. He decided to forego the

(13:13):
money to other big time programs, kept the money that
he was making at ECU, stayed at ECU. But then
he got hurt at ECU toward the a c L
and that's where his whole process began. Most people wouldn't believe,
the people who do the draft work and all that
kind of stuff, that if he had not gotten hurt,
he had been the first round pick. But due to
the injury, that's what made him fall to the third round,

(13:38):
to the third round. So they were looking at that, like, man,
we got a we had a first round talent in
the third round. Another one of those guys where an
injured guy you draft him in the third Always there's always,
you know. And then when he got here, it was
supposed to be all right, we're gonna work through this
and he's gonna be ready, and then there was this
weird kind of setback that nobody talked about. But it

(14:01):
set them back now because because like even now, like
you're seeing him in the knee brace and stuff like that,
and he was supposed to be back when training camp
started in six weeks and it then down turning in
six months since he was supposed to be returning. So
there's a lot of potential that people looked at with Rebel.

(14:22):
But as we all know, man coming back from that
a c L is one of those things where you
never know, You just never know.

Speaker 11 (14:28):
Yeah, And you only played twenty four college games at
a smaller school, you know, East Carolina. Yeah, it could
be a big.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Jump, So tap the brakes a little bit until now. Brother,
Now get both your feets and stand up on them breaks.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
Get both of your feets instead.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yeah feats, I'm double double whatever it is, and get
eight feet if you a gorilla, take both hands and
balls and step on the breaks. And yeah, because what

(15:06):
we normally do to our kids, these are kids. I
mean they're grown men, but they are kids. You will
take this kid. You would tell everybody you will build
this kid up. And just like Kurt just said, he's
never played a down of NFL football. What if we're

(15:26):
going to play the Philadelphia Eagles and we just throw
him out there? Come on, now, hey man, you got
a j Brown one on one brother, and all of
a sudden things don't work out well. Now, this dude
finna take a lashing not only from us as media.
He finna take a lashing from the from the fans.
Get his kid a chance, man, get his get his

(15:48):
baby a chance that we need to stop that man.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
But I think this is one of the guys. When
you hear mister Jones, get on the different platforms to
speak about the the hope that has that he has
for the future of the defense. It's predicated on He's
one of the faces that he's talking about. Of course,
he's talking about the Marion overshown getting him back. But again,
this is another guy who's coming off his second ACL injury,

(16:15):
who hadn't played football in months. What is that gonna
look like? Nice kid, what a great kid that the
Marion is. His energy, his attitude is always positive, but physically,
what is that because he's gonna have he's coming back
into a situation very similar to what Nate is talking about,
where people are saying, this is the missing piece. He's

(16:37):
gonna be the piece that we need at that linebacker
that's gonna send us over the top. And then you're saying, oh, well,
Revel's gonna be that other piece that we need on
the outside and do whatever you're gonna do with Trayvon
Diggs whether he's here or not. But they're looking at
so now you're taking these two young players who're coming
off major injuries, and you're putting the world, the weight

(16:59):
of the world on their athletic shoulders to perform, and
I don't know if that's fair. I don't know if
that's a part of the business, you know, and everybody
may have a different opinion on it, but it's a lot.
It's going to be a lot put on these two
very very specific players, more so than ever because of

(17:19):
how grotesque this defense has played this.

Speaker 11 (17:22):
Year, especially linebacker over shown. They're just he's the savor
he is, he.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Is Ray Like, it's like almost that Ray Lewis era,
I mean, or that's coming off of like he has
to be the great eraser of it all and so's
that's a lot of pressure. That's a lot of pressure
for a young player coming off of major knee And.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
I hope he comes back and has a long and
healthy career because it would break my heart if he
had another setback. He's such a like you said, he's
such a good guy, positive and it he's always right awesome, Like,
I just hope he comes back and has bionic knees
and just plays for fifteen more years. So all right,
let's take our first break, see if we can get

(18:01):
Nate back on track.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
In the break.

by Blockchain dot Com. Thank you, blockchain dot com. So
Mingo's being added to the roster as well. Yeah, right,
do y'all understand that, Like, what are we gonna do there?

Speaker 11 (20:44):
I have no carry six wide receiver?

Speaker 4 (20:47):
That's what do you need? That's what Jerry six?

Speaker 5 (20:49):
You really only need two. That's all you need on
this team.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Three if you if.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
You conclude turping.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
But what do you do because somebody's the way you
carried six?

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Right?

Speaker 4 (21:01):
What's he gonna play?

Speaker 3 (21:03):
Right? Like?

Speaker 7 (21:04):
What's going on in the wide receiver room?

Speaker 10 (21:08):
It seems like every year they have they had.

Speaker 7 (21:10):
Noah Brown for what seven years?

Speaker 4 (21:12):
It's a it's unfortunate that Mingo he he injured himself
out of an opportunity because when he was brought over
for a second round pick, fore front pick. He was
the second round pick. They brought him over for four
front pick. There was the idea of hey, big strong

(21:34):
receiver that can go opposite or help out the room,
opposite of Ceedee Lamb. Then you got hurt. And then
this year they they brought in George Picketts. Well, big receiver,
big fast receiver. Right there, we've we've filled that need.
Then you with Schottenheimer being here, you've you've amplified the

(21:58):
role of Cavante Turp and what there is your number
three now? And then now you've brought up Ryan Floyd Noy,
who kind of almost matches you in the in the
in the measurement category of a bigger, stronger, bigger, stronger receiver.
And then he has his moment where he goes off
and has a really good game. And now you're looking
at and they and I argue with people all day

(22:20):
I don't even argue with people. I just tell people
all day long. They love Dayling Tobert. You may not
love him, not you guys, but people. You may not
love him, They love him over there, Dak loves him,
Coaches love him for whatever reason you might want him going,
and maybe he's going after this year. Currently they love
the kid.

Speaker 5 (22:37):
They always have their players that they love.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
So and so now you don't go you don't go
six wide receivers deep in any football game, like even
like even last week. And I looked at this the
other day on my way home. Ryan Flinoy played nineteen snaps,
played nineteen snaps against the Washington Commanders. So even in
that bringing CD Land back, you know, now you played

(23:04):
nineteen snaps and everyone thought like he was about to
come in and his role was about to increase. It decreased.
You played nineteen snaps and that's the luxury that you
have when you got those.

Speaker 6 (23:14):
Do you know how spoiled and how disappointing next season
is gonna be after watching this circus like because we
have I'll just say it, the best wide receiver duo
in the league right now. It used to be up
in Cincinnati, it ain't anymore. It is here in Dallas.

(23:36):
And then next year we're gonna go back to CD
and no offense to these other guys CD and whoever
right a CD and like Tolbert CD and Florida and exciting,
excited to see what the young guys can do. But
it's not gonna be CD and George Pickens unless they
resign him, which would be great to watch this for

(23:56):
the next two to three years. We're getting spoiled this
year and next year it's gonna go back to be
like CD CD.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
But it's so exciting right now, like.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
It is you talk about that one. There's gonna be
a couple of moves they have to make this offseason. Javonte,
if he continues on he's headed to a thousand yards
and ten touchdowns and and you look at like you said,
George Pickens, this thing can look a lot different next
year if because you play on these one year deals

(24:28):
with the anticipation that it's my turn to go get paid.
And that's the one thing. And we go through this
every single year. Fans act like they spending their money
and but wouldn't take the same advice for themselves because
they always want player to take a team discount, take
a dean discount, take it, take a whole freely deal.

(24:48):
I'm like that, you wouldn't do that if you were
working at your job, you never would and and and yes,
does winning matter, Sure does, sure us, But I also
want to get that. I also want to get that
life changing check too, right like that they always tell
you it's a second contract, that's the generational wealth contract.

(25:11):
And so for guys like George Pickens, he you know,
see he can talk about all day long, Hey man,
we want you here, won't you hit And he's like, yeah,
you can say that now because you make r thirty
four million dollars.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
Yeah, pay you got your he got your bread.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
And but they but guys understand it, like the guys
in the locker room, they all understand, like, hey, we
would love to have you here.

Speaker 7 (25:33):
They want each other to get paid.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
But if that means, you know, you took twenty eight
and you could have got thirty two, go get the bag.
They all understand that. They all understand the business of
this thing. And the same thing for Javonte, someone who
came into this league, had a really good start and
then had the horrific knee injury. And you know, he
even talked about like I thought I was he said it.

(25:56):
I thought I was done, he said, I thought I
was done. I thought my football career was over. And
I kind of will get back to that point. And
now that he's there, he's looking at that like I'm
only one bad hit away again from a devastating knee injury.
So while I would like to come back here next
year and it would be all good and well, I
like what they got going on here. If they only

(26:17):
trying to give me peanuts and someone else will value
my game financially somewhere else, I gotta go and get that,
especially a running back, a young running back, I gotta go.
I got more, even more so than George Picketts because
George Picketts can come back to the table again if
you want to. He's still a young football player. And
Rob Receivers just having longer shelf life than running back

(26:39):
running backstone. Now, I mean their shut they they spoil
like mayonnaise in the summer sun.

Speaker 6 (26:45):
Is there any chance or does this even make sense?
I'm just gonna say it. It might be the stupidest
thing I've ever said, and I've said some stupid stuff
on this show.

Speaker 7 (26:55):
Is there any chance? See every once in a while
you have that was a good one.

Speaker 10 (27:02):
That a good one.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Oh my god, look at.

Speaker 10 (27:07):
Look at it.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
He's about to take.

Speaker 7 (27:14):
Player.

Speaker 6 (27:17):
Is there is there anyway with the pieces they have
in placed on offense right now? Dak would go upstairs
and go, you know what, No, I didn't think.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
No, No, you didn't even get to finish.

Speaker 5 (27:29):
I didn't. I didn't because he's not like.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
No, that's not that's fantasy. Okay, that's fantasy.

Speaker 11 (27:37):
Structure him too.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
That's what. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 8 (27:40):
Let's let's figure out how to spread this out. Oh,
restructure him respread it out? And I thought you mean
say he was like, I'll take less this year. No,
you need to restructure him. The money's not he's gonna
get all. I don't have to because he's just on
the books.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Oh yeah, like seventy tillion or something. Yeah, they'll have
some voided years' they'll make up some for him next.

Speaker 6 (27:58):
But that's nothing. They he wouldn't have to prove it that.
They would just say this is what we're doing. Or
whill he have to say, yeah, you can restructure it.
Now they always have to approve, prove it, spread it out.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
But it's it's those conversations. It's like he knows beforehand, right,
It's like he knows, like, hey, hey, when you get
to the it's ages. Probably when they get to this year,
they're gonna have to move some money around. Yeah, and
he gets that part. So yeah, it's one of those
unspoken they already talked about it. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (28:22):
And then on the front end, all right, one more
thing before we go to break tap me off the
ledge on this one. Kurt put this in here. Jerry
and Shoddy both said the man coverage in Blitz was
just the game plan for Washington?

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Is that?

Speaker 6 (28:38):
Is that what they both said in this press conference.

Speaker 11 (28:40):
Yeah, they basically aren't guaranteeing this is the new norm.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
Why well, question, well, what this is not his scheme.
This is not what eberflus scheme is. And then secondly,
really good defensive coordinators and officeive coordinators. If you're a
coordinator in you have multiple styles, right, Like you should
be able to go with your fight based on your opponent.
You should be able to go into a fight and say, hey,

(29:08):
we are we it would behoove us to do this.
We'll have more sex if we did this, success if
we did this. So I think having it which man
coverage is one of those things where you don't have
to like it's spent. Hey you guys, you have him,
you have him, you have the back, you have this one.
It's not something that you have to consistently work on,

(29:28):
but it is something that percentage wise, like they ran
it forty eight percent of the time in this last
game against the Commanders. It may not be that high
against Denver, it may not be that high against the Chiefs.

Speaker 6 (29:41):
But if it worked really well, why wouldn't it be
that high?

Speaker 4 (29:46):
Because situation, the situation doesn't it doesn't dictate that, you
know what I mean. If you're if you're when you
go and play the Chiefs. I don't know if you
want to be a man and man coverage all day long.
I just don't think that's a I don't know that's
a good recipe for success. I think having a good
blend of it. No, it's not a good recipe for success.
Right like when you played Detroit, I don't know if

(30:08):
that's a good recipe for success mixing it in right,
but you you kind of wanna you know, you don't wanna,
you you you just don't want to have that. Certain
teams you can go, oh, they're down their four three
or four guys that they can't pass the ball. You
know what, I like our chances here, let's go heat
the quarterback up and maybe the same thing this week.

(30:32):
But they're gonna have a challenge on the outside. Never
has some players on the outside. So I think a
good mixture of it is okay.

Speaker 11 (30:38):
But it's more predicated on because I would think a
zone against Mahomes, he would just pick your part all
those openings.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
Yeah yeah, but you're gonna try to who running with?
Who running with Xavier Worthy? Who go roll with him?
With Mahomes back there doing this and you think that, oh,
I've been coming for four seconds and all of a sudden,
now mahomes like this, and then he goes and throw
the sixty yards.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
The thing what Jesse said last week that was just
so right is against the better quarterbacks, you want to
play man against. These elite are almost elite receivers. You're
talking about big playoffter big play. The better the receivers
get and the better your quarterback get. You better off

(31:22):
in zone because now you just come up and make
the tackle, just be where you're supposed to be and
hope that on a thirteen play drive we can get
two or three bad plays to get you off the field.
But if you want to play that game where you
try to man up on them corners and bring your
safeties on their second or third receiver, which is a

(31:45):
tight end, that is elite. We know that's not going
to happen. We know that it shouldn't happen. I don't
know how they would do over there. But I'm with Jess.
The better the quarterbacks, the better the receivers, you better
get back to save yourself.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
You know, as I said, there's there's ways you can
mix it in, but to do it fifty percent or
more times, I think that's setting yourself up for for trouble?

Speaker 6 (32:11):
Is there part of you, guys that because I think
the game would have been I still think the Cowarch
would have won, but I think it would have looked
a lot different if Jaden Daniels hadn't gotten hurt. There's
part of you that wishes he would have been in
the whole game, just so you could have got a
better feel of what this defense, if they made improvements
or not. Because they're down the three wide receivers, the

(32:34):
quarterback goes out, what second.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
You And that's the thing about you can't you can't
line people, you can't predict injuries right, so you you
have to play the game for what it is, being
aware of what happened. See when we came in, Jess,
I'm gonna speak for both of us. When we came in,
we was kind of on the same page. Great job

(32:58):
defense for where we were on this day, this Sunday.
You know, for the people that sell in fantasy to
do what you do, I'm not I'm through trying to
knock others to do the right thing. But they were
missing their top three receivers. They're out of all time

(33:19):
high and drops they had zach Ertz was the only
legit guy on that field. Penalties, So and that was
all time high when they hit nine penalties. They did
a little thing, all time high for the Washington team.
We beat them. We played a complete the most complete

(33:39):
game we played to date. I am happy for that.
Can you put ten percent on that and go to Denver?
So I'm not on the illusions? Yeah, you know, you
know normally when we come in there on a victory Monday,
I can't be controlled.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
But I.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Can see too. Yeah, I mean, am I speaking?

Speaker 4 (34:03):
You're right?

Speaker 2 (34:03):
I can see too? Nothing right?

Speaker 6 (34:05):
All right, let's take our last break when we come back,
more football and hang up with the boys.

Last seven and a half minutes, you had some questions
about number seven, didn't.

Speaker 5 (37:05):
You Yeah, yeah, I'll let you ask.

Speaker 11 (37:08):
Yeah, I don't want to get in this. No, No,
I shouldn't have.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
Technates were shooting Thronday.

Speaker 11 (37:20):
Well, I guess it's kind of everybody's sort of wondering.
Did the Cowboys have a Trevon Diggs problem?

Speaker 5 (37:28):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Yes, And I'm with you with a big double, big,
double big why. Yes, I'm with capital letters. Yes, it's
a problem.

Speaker 11 (37:38):
Is it any coincidence that they maybe played a little
better in the secondary last week when he wasn't in there?
Or is that just.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Opponent?

Speaker 4 (37:47):
That opponent? I think that's I think that's the that's opponent,
because if you go back and you watch it, you know,
I know they had track Quays out there and he
didn't do you know, he wasn't. It was bad. But
that's opponent. That's opponent. But to answer the first part
of it, yes, yes, when you have one of the

(38:09):
players that you depend upon to come out there and
to start and to play at a high level who
was not there, who has been very vocal in the
media about the scheme, We've all detailed the back and
forth that he and the front office have talked. They
have had all off season, you know, due to the

(38:31):
location in which he wanted to rehab in. It cost
him a half a million dollars in bonuses or incentives.
Excuse me, Yes, there is an issue there. There is
an issue there, and this late, this latest thing doesn't
help that whatever, whatever it is. Because I've been a

(38:52):
part of this team and covering this team for fifteen
plus years, Yeah, somewhere around there, I've never seen it.
I very rarely do you see anything so air tight
on a player like that. Nobody has anything to say.
We were talking about earlier. I'm like, even when like
they used to, they're not used to. They still do it,

(39:14):
but like a lot of make me feel good. Like
I was around here. Remember when Daz cut his hand
real bad. They was like, oh, yeah, Deaz cut his
hand because he was cutting carrots. Now we all knew,
at least, I'll say, I'll think for me, I knew
there was a damn lie. I knew it was a lie,

(39:36):
and most of you in the media knew it was
a lie. But you gave us something. There was something
that we can go and say, oh, well, they lied
to us, but at least we got an explanation why
your star player wasn't going to play in this game.
We got a concussion, okay, how and nobody has anything

(39:58):
to say about it. Nobody. There's no oh, well, you know, hey,
you know, Trayvon was in the house and you know,
slipped out of the shower.

Speaker 11 (40:08):
Somebody said home repairs. I can't remember who said that.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
But he's doing manual labor. Come on, Trayvon Diggs ain't
doing no manual labor. Guys. I'm I don't make a
quarter of the money that Trayvon Diggs makes. I got
a handyman. I'm not doing though manual labor. I got
a handyman, southan John. I got a handyman. People come

(40:32):
and cut my grass. I got an electrician. I got
people for the garage door. When that breaks down, I
got ac heat. He's not doing manual labor. Let's stop that.
Like like you know, but like normally we get a
lie just to make us feel good. And I'm okay
with Lyne to make me feel good from time to time,
protect my feelings, but just give us well, you don't

(40:54):
have anything. It's a problem. It's a it's it's and
it's when it's a play. You're where you've seen the
open back and forth between he and ownership. It it
kind of gives that feeling of again, not again, another

(41:14):
thing with him, another thing with him. It's this, it's that.
So you you yes, you do. You have a you
have a problem. I'm not saying it's a big problem
or a little problem. It's a problem. There's a there's
a trayvon dish problem that's going on in this Organization's.

Speaker 11 (41:28):
Disappointing because he was such a star player, you know right.
I mean they obviously they paid him a bunch of
money because he was a cornerstone. I guess thee injuries
maybe have just caught up with him.

Speaker 4 (41:38):
Sometimes I told you got this before. Sometimes this game
takes far away from takes far more away from you
than you're willing to give. And every time you go
under the knife, you don't come back home. You come
back a portion of yourself. You try to work. You
try to work yourself to the best of whatever the
portion is left.

Speaker 2 (41:53):
But that is a player telling you this, a player.
You never be the same. It may depending on how
young you are, how quick you can recover, You may think, oh,
he's better than ever. No, no, No, he's just young
and so and then if you don't rehab right, you know,

(42:18):
and now your confidence waying, you could be hiding, you know,
your lack of confidence. You know. So I just but
that's bothered from man because we all thought three years
ago but we had the next it and he could
still be that it. But we don't know because he's
not shown up on the field.

Speaker 11 (42:39):
Well, hopefully he'll be back at practice tomorrow, but we
don't know.

Speaker 4 (42:43):
Yeah, they said yesterday he came in yesterday, he sent
him home like that. It's things like that. You're just like, wait,
so there was nothing y'all can do here to help,
like and I don't and I don't know all the
protocols for rehab, rehabbing or doing what you gotta do
to get out a concussion protocol. But when you hear
he showed up to the facility and they sent him home,
you're like, okay, And nobody says anything like even even

(43:03):
mister Jones was on the radio this morning one to
five three the Fan and you know, he was talking
about it, and he was very cavalier. This is very
very just dismissive of it. And you would think from
a player that you really want and need and hope
would help your football team. You know, you would be
more like when he talks about like the Mario on
over showing or some other guys, there's a little bit

(43:24):
more zest and zeal that he talks about them with
this one.

Speaker 6 (43:26):
He was kind of like, it seems like just from
exactly what you said, you can tell when the organization
is still invested.

Speaker 5 (43:36):
It doesn't seem like.

Speaker 4 (43:37):
It doesn't feel like that.

Speaker 6 (43:38):
No, it doesn't, because as we give a little bit
more contact, like he goes in and hey, he's doing okay.

Speaker 5 (43:43):
We talked to it.

Speaker 4 (43:44):
With our trainers. Man, we're doing everything that we can
and you know, you know, but it's just been like.

Speaker 5 (43:48):
It is what it is.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
Sometimes I dwell on it sometimes.

Speaker 5 (43:52):
When Jerry not dwelled on anything.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
Yeah, sometime the word is simple something when you when
it comes from the top. We ain't talking about.

Speaker 5 (43:59):
This, ain't that right, Chris.

Speaker 2 (44:04):
We ain't talking about where you being.

Speaker 12 (44:06):
Chris, ain't talking about working very thing, working.

Speaker 6 (44:13):
A right Fellas when we succeeded in not rehashing the
Washington game very well today we did and he counseled.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
The calls y'all. My partner sitting there.

Speaker 10 (44:22):
We didn't have any and I just wasn't gonna get
the number back out because I was enjoying talking to all.

Speaker 6 (44:26):
Okay, all right, Jesse, good stuff, Nate, good stuff.

Speaker 7 (44:30):
Kurt, thanks for contributing today.

Speaker 4 (44:33):
You had some singers.

Speaker 6 (44:34):
You had some singers, man, you had some You saved
Nate's life.

Speaker 10 (44:39):
You had a funny one for me.

Speaker 6 (44:41):

Speaker 10 (44:41):
Thanks for keeping us on the air. Josh, thanks for
keeping him company.

Speaker 6 (44:44):
