Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said fixing the defense is easy; they just need better communication. But what does that mean? Is it in the huddle? Before the ball is snapped? During the play? And talking might be easy, but is understanding? And will there be any communication problems with Brock Hoffman now at center. Plus, Nate talks trash-talking, Jesse’s key stat and our predictions!

Speaker 7 (02:41):
About it is if you don't dogged out somebody, the
worst day you can do is go in apology mode.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
I mean, I didn't want.

Speaker 7 (02:47):
To attack her, but I'm like, you know what, because
now you are on who you really are people respect
Jess because he gonna give you the truth.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Now you may not like it.

Speaker 7 (02:57):
You know, you matter come over the neate to get
the gentles room, you know, because I got to apologize
about Baylor.

Speaker 8 (03:03):
I mean I remember sitting there thinking, gosh, it's gonna
get worse.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
It didn't get worse.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
I didn't pete.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
Man. They told they told me you had a situation
the other night. You what was that?

Speaker 8 (03:15):
Man?

Speaker 5 (03:16):
What situation?

Speaker 6 (03:17):
Told me you had a situation? Or one of the
little Wednesday, Yeah, the Wednesday.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
Upstairs on the Legend show.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
What happened man?

Speaker 5 (03:26):
One of the young boys from over at the at
the radio station.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
No oh you oh no, I was having fun with it.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
You were having fun. I don't think he was having
I think I think you was having fun the person
that you.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
But then and we'll talk off, but.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Now he wants to talk. Minutes ago, you wouldn't be quiet.

Speaker 7 (03:51):
What makes me laugh is and you'll hear me say
this all the time, and Shan Shannon did.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Hey, we're the gradest show.

Speaker 7 (03:59):
The reason the only time you can throw me off
and get me off side is to don't bring the facts.
Don't bring the truth. It's already the joke jive, you know,
and to have fun. But when you're talking straight basic
one on one football, don't try to interject no jokes

(04:21):
with me. When you notice when you get saying something good,
I just because you're in a learning situation, learn something.
Sometimes it ain't always a joke. You know, football is
not a joke. A lot of these guys, depending on.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Who you can lose your job.

Speaker 7 (04:38):
It's not a joke. And so he was like, well,
you know he's trying to blow it up. Well I
heard this and the source got it from out Like, wow,
y'all'll know, man, he just don't take football to this joke.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
That was my livelihood. This is what got us all
sitting at this table. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (04:56):
I can be asking nine, ten, eleven, and twelve, but
in the week, I'm gonna try.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
To give you the truth. I'm gonna listen to the truth.
You seeking the truth, and you seeking the truth. So
what you want the truth?

Speaker 9 (05:06):
What you're saying is don't go on air with stuff
you speculating them.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
You don't have a solid.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
Yeah, but he had a solid back. Yeah, this dude
he got it from. I almost just called the dude out,
but I like, I can't do that.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
I ain't do that.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
This is man, I can't wait till the break. You
want to go to break?

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Now, yeah, let's go to break. Man. I hate when
people do that. Don't don't take this for a joke, man.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
You know it's that's a good point.

Speaker 9 (05:33):
It's it puts perspective on everything, right, Like Kurt and
I have never played a professional sport.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
It's a game. To us, it's a it's a it's entertainment.

Speaker 9 (05:45):
It's a hot price game. Man, it's it's entertainment. It's
like us paying to go see a movie. You know,
it's But to you guys, like it's whether you could
feed your family or not, whether you worked at you know,
a security place the rest your life, whether you you know,
whether you could afford to eat, Like it's like, I mean,

(06:06):
it's a big deal. It was, I know, Like I mean,
but you think about it puts in perspective.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Like to some people it is a joke.

Speaker 9 (06:15):
It's you know, it's entertainment, but like it's a it's
a real tangible thing on that side of the building,
Like it could set your kids up forever, and you know,
it can set you up forever.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
And like not everybody. You know, a lot of people
don't take it as a real thing.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
And I'll give you a perfect example.

Speaker 7 (06:34):
Donovan is a box safety. Donovan is a box safety.
Now the defense is not built for him. It is
not is I'm correct? It's not built for him. Will
Donald say, hey, man, I'm gonna learn how to do this.
And I give you example again, when it's three receivers

(06:57):
on one side and you got your deep third, you
gonna have to play and lean.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
To that side.

Speaker 7 (07:02):
You might have to go five or six yards over
to that side to give yourself a chance. Because if
you don't, how much power do you have with the coaches?
Are they gonna readjust something for you? Are you that
great of a box safety? Are they gonna say, well, right,
when we in these situations, Donald, we're gonna take you

(07:22):
to the bench. Taking you to the bench is not
a positive. Never, I don't care what nobody say. Taking
you to the bench ain't a positive.

Speaker 8 (07:31):
So see if he starts cheating one way, well, quarterback
see that.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
Well, so those are signs where you talk about you
guys in the booth, right, they'll go hey, listen, you know, hey,
in the first quarter, when we went three by one.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
That safety cheated over real heavy.

Speaker 6 (07:44):
Yes, so now they'll they'll they'll they'll bank that and
go when we came, lets you look like again, hey
we went three by one again, he cheated over real heavy, right,
like he's feeling that. And then now you go all
right three one again, Boom, I'm gonna come something back door.
He gonna be so far over that he can't recover.
So those are the thing that they just take little
notes throughout the game. And the guy's up top, like hey,

(08:07):
every time we go three by one, boy, he getting
deeper and he's shaved more.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Over there, and he almost got a interception.

Speaker 6 (08:14):
So now they kind of set things up kind of
like like, oh, guy, he feel good about this all
right cool?

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Boom, be come with something back though you won't be
able to get there to recover.

Speaker 8 (08:21):
So so this talking about Donovan, this mix reminds me
that so Shotty talked about this defense should be easy
to fix. They just need to communicate better. But I'm thinking,
like how do they communicate? I mean, are they literally
saying you take him, you take him?

Speaker 5 (08:37):
Or I mean when the is it hand signals?

Speaker 8 (08:40):
But when the cornerback you know, it's everything running fast
as hell. Cornerback's dropping back, It's safety is ten to
fifteen yards away. He can't yell at him in a
full season.

Speaker 7 (08:50):
You know, for me, And then I'll just get it
deeper with it. And and people keep saying, I forgot
to say that our linebackers play a part in this too.
I'll keep going at Donald, but our linebackers play a party.
Jesse jokes about the white guy that you know crowd

(09:12):
lines like, I don't care what color is. You need
to get back. You need to get you need to
get deeper.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Is correct?

Speaker 7 (09:19):
To make these guys throw over your outstretched hands, make
them these little windows that Jesse has been showing us
and d Q used to try to take away with
the long player.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
It's advantage you looking for accuracy.

Speaker 7 (09:35):
Now your quarterback gotta be accurate because I'm fast enough
to get there and I'm long enough.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
To tip it.

Speaker 7 (09:41):
So you're gonna have to be more accurate. And this kid,
Jesse is not backed off yet. This kid can be accurate.
If he said his feet, he can be accurate.

Speaker 6 (09:50):
And as far the communication part, it's it's a it's
a total thing, team thing.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
But I said this the other day, and I still
believe it. I get that.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
Coach Schottenheimer is trying to take care.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
Of the legs of the players.

Speaker 6 (10:07):
And then a walk through on Wednesday and kind of
shells yesterday and shell stuff today's temple. When them bullets
get the flying out there on that field and you
huffing and puffing and you're a little tired, that's when
the communication needs to be at its best.

Speaker 5 (10:24):
Right when you when.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
You you know, because when you get tired, like I
don't care what you whatever field that you win, athlete,
non athlete, you get a little bit fatigued. Things ain't
it ain't it, ain't it, don't it don't register the
right way. You ain't what you say, what you tired,
you huffing and puffing. And that's why I said, And

(10:45):
this game from the Bears offensive standpoint, where it has
me a little worried is because the team is that historically,
the Cowboys have struggled it with long before even lose
got here. Will the teams who operate in this manner, motions, shifts,

(11:08):
constant movement, constant personnel change, They force they force you
to either you're gonna communicate this overly communicate this or
someone's gonna mess up. Because we're gonna start one way,
we're gonna break the huddle, start some way. We're gonna
shift to something. Then we're gonna motion behind that. We

(11:28):
might motion again. So that's gonna require you to when
you break the huddle, call your normal set. Boom, you
break the huddle, they come out, they ain't want thing.
Now you call all right, cool? You know right right right, strength,
right right right? Oh, Roger, Roger, le le Leo. And
then now they shift, all right, what do they shift to?
They shift to? Why to condense? All right, we're changing

(11:49):
now they and that and they don't motion into it.
Now we went from being Roger being the strength to
now Leo meaning left is the strength. And then before
that it might have something else. And then now you're
gonna be able to communicate that and change.

Speaker 8 (12:02):
The communication he's talking about is before the snap, when
they're both out there seeing. Yes, it's not during the play.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
It's not passing a guy off to another guy. You
should know that right, Like.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
In the zone, I have a zone.

Speaker 6 (12:16):
If my job is to drop from where I'm standing
to eight yards over there, then I have to go
from where I'm standing, check the things in my area
to eight yards over there or a third or a
half or flats hook, whatever it is. If I'm the
linebacker and were in Tampa two, I'm turning and running
to the strength right. When anytime you see that linebacker

(12:38):
running down the middle of the field in Tampa two,
he's always going to be turned to the strong side
of the defensive side of there was the strengths, right,
Usually that be with the tightness side. If you're in
twelve or twenty one personnel or for three receiver side,
whatever it may be, his job is to turn and
open up to that. Now, again, what happens when you
got two dudes coming at you? Which one do you take?

Speaker 10 (12:59):
Right?

Speaker 6 (12:59):
You run down the middle of the field and this
dude kind of coming over top of you can do
com underneath. Now you're stuck in between the bind of
which one you take. So that's the part of the
communication is beforehand so that we understand and know. But
this is the kind of office that makes you check
the checker and that communicats have to be overly communicated,

(13:20):
and when they do that, the office is designed that
way to give their quarterback signs their receivers and office
of linement signs of what you're doing, but also to
get you to mess up too.

Speaker 7 (13:32):
And what he just said in the regular zone basis
what evil flew that guy that comes in the middle.
Your lineback is supposed to be deep enough that he's
on top of this guy and that guy that's running
down the middle of the field. Your safety is supposed
to be back deep enough to be able to compete
for that ball. Right there is there is when they over,
when they flood or zone where that safety stays short.

(13:53):
Now to take the short route. You get what I'm saying.
What got us was not a complex deal. I think
we'll face a more complex deal this week than we
did last week. That was not They took number one
in the little guy that number seventeen and beat us

(14:14):
to death.

Speaker 6 (14:15):
Yeah, that Giant's office is not a complex office. They're
not doing a bunch of move like this is way more.
And go back and watch the Cowboys when they had
to play the Lafloors the phase, Yes, the Shanahans the
bend when he was in Detroit. Right like those games,

(14:36):
the Cowboys defense struggled in because they make you over
and over communicate by all their shifts and motions and
informations and personnel, They're constantly challenging you mentally your eyes,
your eyes, your assignment, alignment, like it's a constant fifty
three and the third by one hundred focused battlecause they're

(14:56):
gonna make you play every inch.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
Of the feet with what they do.

Speaker 7 (14:59):
Nickel dime, quarter dollar, just like he said yesterday, they
he's gonna do it. He's gonna march you down the field.
And when you make that one mistake and we hoping
his kids eyes on. And when you make that one
mistake and you said, oh, I got this shrouded and
I'm jumping it, he faded back. All of a sudden,
you're standing up by yourself.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
So communications very easy for some.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
No, no, well, let.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Me finish, Let me finish. It's very easy on the surface.

Speaker 9 (15:32):
Does a lack of communication come down to ego a
lot of times?

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Like I know what I need to be doing, don't
tell me what to do.

Speaker 9 (15:38):
And then because I know when I'm growing up playing baseball,
you always would turn around two outs right field, you
throw it here, you do this, this is what everybody's doing.
And then as you get older, you slow down and
everybody should know what they're doing, So then you don't
communicate as much because you should know what you're doing.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
I know what I'm doing. And then when you.

Speaker 9 (15:57):
Think you're supposed to be doing this, and you're really
supposed to be doing that, nobody tells you.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
The play goes off and then all hell breaks lost.

Speaker 7 (16:04):
If we're fifteen games in, maybe you two games in.
How can you think that way?

Speaker 9 (16:11):
Then what's the communication that SHOT's talking about? Where's the
lack of communication?

Speaker 10 (16:15):
Like?

Speaker 2 (16:16):
What what does he say? It's an easy fix, we'll
fix it.

Speaker 8 (16:20):
Shifts and all that.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
That's the community.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Okay, that's the communication.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
That's what he means by communication.

Speaker 5 (16:25):
Communication like because again.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Not knowing what that shift creates once they be because
there are Okay, that makes sense.

Speaker 6 (16:33):
When God's line up, there's like you hear us talk
all these numbers, like in the inside, you're here talking
about you know, zero, one, technique three, technique four, I
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
By nine.

Speaker 6 (16:44):
But then when you get into the back end, the
defensive backs, they're counting from outside in a right. So
if I'm on the left hand side, right, if I'm
on the left hand side, which would be the right
hand side of the of the offense right and the
furthest out receiver.

Speaker 5 (16:59):
I'm going that's one. That's two.

Speaker 6 (17:03):
Whoever, the next one is if a back is in there,
three the pree wide receiver side. So now what happens
is I know if I have a third, Well, I
got one, I got whatever number one. Now I have
the number one wide receiver who ends up on the
outside at the snap.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
It's naked, right, But if they have a guy that
runs out, and if he.

Speaker 6 (17:26):
Comes down and runs in and another guy comes a
rounds out and then but here's the thing, check this out.
You can have the back in the backfield who could
run a round out of the back who becomes the
number one? Well, you just chase the number one inside
to the post. And the linebacker now is trying to well,
you got a guy running, he's number one. Now you
see what I'm saying. So like that's the communication.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
So communication is basically know what you're supposed to do and.

Speaker 6 (17:50):
Know what you're supposed to do, but also saying that
this comes back down to film study. Hey hey look, hey,
I'm gone not three by one. You know, here comes
the switch relief three point one. Hey, watch out for
and now we're all on the same page. Hey, if
they switched, Hey, if they switch.

Speaker 9 (18:06):
I got So that was my point. Why not just
say this is what we're doing. When we come to
the line, we're saying it out loud so we don't
get confused if you don't do that. Is that kind
of an ego thing where like I know what I'm.

Speaker 6 (18:17):
Yeah, but even when it's happening, you can communicate it.
But are you understanding it? And are you understanding as
part of the how how deep in that route is
number one become now number two?

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Understanding is part of communication.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
But this is the simple part.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
By the way, some both came at me really quick.

Speaker 5 (18:33):
Yeah, you were saying community. I was like, well no, but.

Speaker 7 (18:37):
But this is the simple part. At no point in
time are you coming forward. You're backing up and you're
hollering and your talking.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
At no point in time are you coming forward? Because
if you.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
Come forward, because that's the zone defense dedicated on keeping
everything in a cone right in front of you and
in like in nothing behind you, everything in front of you,
funneling it from the outside end. That's the part of
a zone like, that's the I want to keep everything
in this funnel and we rally to it. If gods

(19:15):
are getting behind you, then you've you've done something wrong.
That's the purpose of a zone It's never to let
anyone behind you, never to let anyone outside of you.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
Let's keep everything in front of us.

Speaker 6 (19:27):
Let's make them have to pass through these these windows
that we're defending. And now we are all rallying to
the football. We're all coming to the football, eleven to
the football. We're trying to make it very difficult. We're
trying to make these windows very difficult to see through.
And of course what ties into that is I gotta

(19:49):
get home on the front end. That is the key
telling I gotta get home on the front That is
the absolute key to a zone defense. If you don't
have the pressure up front, I'm sorry. There are holes
in his zone and you're banking on he either not
he's either rushed through those not seeing it, or you've

(20:11):
gotten him off his spot where he's eliminated himself. If
I can get him to look only half of the field,
then I'd like my chances, because ain't nothing else back here.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Come on, mister clowney, so get us some pressure.

Speaker 7 (20:24):

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Welcome, Welcome back to Hanging with the Boys. I jumped
the gun.

Speaker 8 (22:53):
Okay early last time, relate this time?

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Wow, I hit it well if anybody knows how, I'm
just saying, we reacting like that? Is that a physical thing?
Need appeal?

Speaker 9 (23:06):
Every second segment of the show brought to you by
blockchain dot Com.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Thank you blockchain dot com.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
All right, you wat chain big.

Speaker 8 (23:14):
You got a communication. We're on communication.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah, you don't keep talking about it.

Speaker 8 (23:17):
A little bit, A little.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Bit, go go ahead.

Speaker 8 (23:19):
Obviously we have a new center. Now what's that going
to do for communication?

Speaker 3 (23:22):
On that? Right? There should be a simple deal there.

Speaker 9 (23:27):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Both of these guys understanding the offense. Both of these.

Speaker 7 (23:30):
Guys have had live fire in this offense at center.
So uh I think to me, I think Hoffman is
a better center than guard. Uh. It still remains to
be seen who has the better feet for the one
on one pass block. And that is our biggest issue
because we are riding as a group now that on

(23:52):
DAK we ride all you know, even though we wanted
to run at least twenty two twenty three times a game,
we all riding on DAK. So we need for Hoffman
to be able to uh uh, and he knows where
the strength that he can go from from from Mike
to Will or maybe even a little further out, you know,
telling the guys how the protection looks. When Dak check

(24:14):
uh change your play, he still can look up, you
know and say, hey, it's the same same or get
a new mic and a new wheel, possible late rusher.
So it shouldn't be no drop off. We should be
able to still maintain some type of run game. The
thing that I like about Hoffman, I think is I
think he's stronger. You know, he's stronger, and he's a

(24:38):
little more upsetting. And what I mean by that is
he's gonna tug on some guys. He's gonna shove some guys, agitate,
He's gonna agitate you guys.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Yeah, huh.

Speaker 7 (24:50):
I like that because it gets when you're playing against
a potential Grady Jared, who has a potential to make
great plays, get.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
Him focusing on you.

Speaker 7 (24:59):
You know, you don't mind getting kicked in the face
of you know, beat up, you know, and stuff like okay,
as long as you ain't got that of a running back.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
I like that type of guy, you know.

Speaker 9 (25:08):
That you know, they had a really this was an
interesting conversation they were talking about on the fan flagship
station of the Cowboys earlier, and they were talking about
I don't know that I came in kind of halfway
through it, but they were talking about all of Dallas sports, like.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Who you Who's a dog?

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Like who you?

Speaker 2 (25:26):
I guess would like.

Speaker 9 (25:29):
Yeah, well, I mean that, but let's let's focus it
on the Cowboys and not a street fight and alley.
But it's been a it's been a long time since
we had some guys that I feel like care about
their teammates and like care about the game and don't
want to be shown up. And you know, I always
go back to that game where the poor quarterback who

(25:50):
was that got laid right, got laid out, and just
you know, everybody just kind of hum like like like, yeah,
you got some guys I think on the offensive line,
I think you've got some you know some.

Speaker 6 (26:04):
Hell, we could even go back two weeks ago they
spilled on your quarterback, like they spill on your quarterback. Yeah,
like the fact that Dak was able even to even
walk through two linemen, Like he walked through two linemen
and it wasn't two linemen that turned around and was like,
who are you walking through? There wasn't two linemen that

(26:24):
turned around and saw ninety nineties like when that happened,
you should have had two linemen that was sitting there
like two like to Kane Corsal.

Speaker 9 (26:36):
You think they'd have got away with that. If it
had been Colombo, Uh, Gerard Davis, Colombo would have got
kick closure. Yeah, the Lumbo would have got the Kolzer
would have got kicked out.

Speaker 7 (26:46):
But more importantly, more importantly, the game wouldn't have been
right for like two or three series, you know, because
whereas out have.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Been like wow, man, this dude spinned on Troy.

Speaker 7 (27:00):
I'm telling him, hey, bro, the whole game, watch your knees,
I'm telling him that. I'm serious, Yeah, because I'm gonna
take me four or five shots. I'm gonna say, bro,
for that right there, watch your knees. And they'd be like,
see I didn't talk. I had to always be concentrated.
They're like, uh oh, they knew that was my thing

(27:20):
around the league, big new thing, gonna talk. But if
you're gonna make him get out of his game, he
coming at you. And then when I when I tell
a guy that the whole game. You can see him
first and ten second and four stuff like that running games.
I'm gonna get you, bro, well.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Who anybody on this team?

Speaker 9 (27:40):
And every business a collective conversation because I feel like
there are some dogs on this team. I'll throw my
first one. I'll say Jake Ferguson, just because we've talked
to him.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
You see him on the field.

Speaker 9 (27:53):
I think he's a hey, I'm gonna I'm gonna get
in your face kind of guy.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
If you're gonna do that kind of Are there any
do y'all have any guys that are done?

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Like your left guard is trying. He's trying to be one.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
But I think that's a dog, you know, like he
he a different type of dog. Yeah, but see he
just remember that.

Speaker 7 (28:14):
But he was defending the right guard because that's who
ninety eight was coming at. He was trying to intimidate, like, well,
I got you in college, I own you, you know,
and so that was just you know, defending his guy.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
So but I tell you right here, bru.

Speaker 7 (28:30):
In this dogless NFL, it's hard to find because the
officials are not going to let you.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
Get out of line.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
And I don't mean you got to punch somebody. But
I'm just what about Hoffman. He's got a little bit
of cee.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
He did something like bounce on yeah, and that's a flag.
That's a flag.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
Brand in an emphasis on talk.

Speaker 7 (28:51):
So part of being a dog, part of been a
dog not only dominating a dude doing your job, but
you got to be able to talk to this cat.
You know what I'm saying, walk behind him like dog.

Speaker 8 (29:03):
You do? Oh?

Speaker 3 (29:03):
I got you? You know you?

Speaker 10 (29:05):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (29:05):
Man on the quarterback i' me and Richard Dent used
to be like, wow, man, I started three yards out
staying down to a yard and a half the second quarter.
You get what I'm saying, Dog's gonna talk to you man, big.
He used to be talking to the reverend. You know,
hey boy, hey, you got to go see the Lord
after this game. I mean, oh, bro, I mean that's

(29:29):
that's part of the dogs.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Is I'm wrong? Yes?

Speaker 5 (29:32):
Oh no, you're right.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
You know right?

Speaker 5 (29:33):
That is that is absolutely true.

Speaker 6 (29:34):
And it made me when you said that, It made
me automatically go think of a guy like like Trent Williams, right,
the left tackle at San Francisco, right, like.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
He just one of them.

Speaker 9 (29:42):
Dude.

Speaker 6 (29:42):
That's gonna talk to you and go and guess what,
I'm gonnaf you up this next place to you right
and you walk back to huddle like, yep.

Speaker 5 (29:50):
Right here.

Speaker 6 (29:50):
I didn't pissed him up, you know what I mean, Like,
you gotta be a different kind of dude to be
able to And I think Nate is spun on with that.
Is that you know, remember Michael Ever said one time,
we're losing recipes like we're losing that in the league
where you just the dogs are are not being able
to John Randalls of the world and uh, you know

(30:10):
the guys who l t you know yet does right.

Speaker 9 (30:15):
Like daz Jo Sinko just talk to you like you know, going.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
To your locker. Got it? Yeah, yeah, I got him.

Speaker 6 (30:27):
Now come right here, now I'm running the twelve yard cirl.
Come stand right here and tell you what you're running.
And you like, come play man, you want, I'm telling
you what I'm gonna run and you won't be able to.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
Stop me like that type of stuff.

Speaker 6 (30:38):
Yeah, we we we We've we've lost a little bit
of that because of the way the league now wants
to have a much more uh you know, clean cut
type of.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Of league now now, look, y'all.

Speaker 9 (30:50):
All the guys y'all mentioned were like the doll the
alphas of the alphas, right right, but I mean it's
hard to find those are like your elite to this.

Speaker 7 (31:00):
Levin Gogan is an upscale hoffman. Kevin Gogan when I play,
he's an upscale halfman because he could play a little bit.
He could play a little bit. And that was that
was our before Big E got there. That was our
That was our toughest dog. You know, I'm coming at you.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
Dog. Ain't always got to be your best player.

Speaker 6 (31:22):
Minds with Jay Ratliff, Yeah, I always got to be
your best player. You know what I'm saying, Like you you,
Jay will tell you like j might say, I will
kill you by like you mean on the football field life.

Speaker 5 (31:37):
Like, let's just at the end of this game.

Speaker 6 (31:39):
We we live in here, we're gonna play together, right
Like Jay was.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Do you know a guy scary when you know?

Speaker 7 (31:47):
The pr said always be thoughtful before I always thought
they always Hey, they ask you this question before you
just burnt out some you know, even if you have
to ask him.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
To repeat it, be thoughtful in your answer.

Speaker 7 (32:01):
Well, Jay would be quiet, So long to you be like,
hey man, I'll get back to you.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
You think about that.

Speaker 9 (32:10):
Yeah, but are there any guys on this team that
maybe they don't act like.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
A dog, but they have CD some dog in them.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Cee, he got some dog in him, bro c A Dover, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Tylers Smith trying to trying to be that.

Speaker 7 (32:26):
Yeah, yeah, he's trying. But the thing is, I was
watching Baldinger today. He got a thing on there where
he got a defensive line from Carolina Brown.

Speaker 6 (32:41):
Oh yeah, they're all world defensive tackle. Brown is the
last name?

Speaker 8 (32:45):
What is it?

Speaker 7 (32:47):
He took this guard and threw him inside and saw
the back go it back inside.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
He took the guard and threw him back across his face.

Speaker 6 (32:55):
Dog like a rag, Dog like a rag the Kelaunta Patson?
What is Browns? His last name is Brown? Is back?

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (33:02):
He was, He's He's one of the best people.

Speaker 7 (33:04):
He spent a long time since. That's dogging, bro Yeah,
that's dogging in the best.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Well see what bothers me?

Speaker 9 (33:11):
Don't bother me, But everybody we just named on the
offensive side of the ball, Like, don't you need a
But I'm talking about now this team.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
You said c D Thymers Smith, do you need a
dog on defense. You do like that represents you and
goes we're not doing that.

Speaker 6 (33:27):
See like Sam Williams has the potential, but the play ain't.

Speaker 5 (33:31):
He don't have to.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
He doesn't have the clout, right, he don't have to.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
He don't have enough of the places where he just
dominates you. You know what I'm saying. But he got
Sam ain't rap too tight.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
He makes me nervous.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
I'd be cool.

Speaker 6 (33:42):
I'd be like, you know, let me not say much
because Sam might catch me in a lunch room right
and run up on me for real.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
Tense.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Yeah, nothing bad about pickings neither.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
That's Brown, Derrick Brown. That's the name.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
That's the name Brown. Did you you got the highlight
of bro?

Speaker 7 (34:04):
It's been a long time since I seen a dude
grab a dude by.

Speaker 5 (34:08):
His chest, another offensive lineman. It was.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
It was an ugly another.

Speaker 13 (34:13):
Yound, a big fella. Yeah, and man looked like he
was throwing out a receiver. Br I'll tell youself, don't
dudes have done me like that? But it's a different
fight after that. It's a different fight.

Speaker 7 (34:25):
I ain't not fair, oh no, because see I will
play technique into a technique don't get.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
It done no more.

Speaker 7 (34:33):
And and I and I'm glad my coaches allowed me.
You know, all week long, Tony wise to be cussing
me out about technique. But he'll he'll be like, dude,
I know you're getting ready to play John Random. I know you, Finn,
go play your own brow. You know, I know you're
gonna have a minus and a plus because the finished
job is gonna get you the plus.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Just keep it. Yeah, the way you got there, he's
gonna be a minus.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
All right, that's your last break.

Speaker 9 (35:00):
When we come back scores, Jesse's stat to watch, and

Do something, Jesse, what's your what's your stat to watch
this week?

Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (38:21):
My stats watched this week for the Cowboys. Talk about communication.
I told you guys before alignment assignment football is gonna
be paramount.

Speaker 5 (38:27):
It's gonna be key.

Speaker 6 (38:28):
You guys must must, must, must stay in your rush lanes.
They have to funnel this guy. They have to keep
this guy under wraps, because if you don't, it's gonna
cause trouble my status.

Speaker 5 (38:46):
If Caleb Williams has more than forty.

Speaker 6 (38:49):
Five yards rushing, If he has more than forty five
yards rushing, the Cowboys are in trouble.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Forty five or more yards rushing forty plus.

Speaker 6 (39:03):
You gotta you gotta keep this kid contained. You gotta
make him. You gotta make him a pocket passer, but
with stuff and like with with with pressure in his face. Right,
But if you let him get out there, get the scrambling,
he will take off. When things don't go right for
Caleb Williams, he automatically relies on the things that he's
comfortable with. He's been the best athlete. He's been a

(39:24):
number one football player in high school. He's been a
Hoiding telf and Winter in college, and he's again they're
working to eliminate the bad habits that he has. So
when things begin to look cloudy or foggy, he goes,
I'm out and he'll take off running. And he got scoots.
He got some scoots. He can get away from you.
He can throw from every platform. But he's not afraid

(39:47):
to take that ball. They're not running r pos.

Speaker 5 (39:49):
They're not.

Speaker 6 (39:50):
It's not like Jalen Hurst when they're trying to run
r pols or Lamar Jackson. But when he when if
you're not in your lane, if you rush up the
field too quick, if you if you dive inside. Now
you just ran into the tackle and nobody came around,
and he gone clowny.

Speaker 8 (40:04):
Being new, not knowing the scheme as much. Does that
make it harder?

Speaker 6 (40:08):
No, Clowney, You got outsccing t anybody, just the staff
that you get. I don't think Colne should play this week.
That's just my personal opinion. I think if you're gonna
give some some more snaps to somebody.

Speaker 5 (40:20):
Give them to James Houston, Sam William, give them to me,
give them the James Houston.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
I'm with that.

Speaker 7 (40:24):
I'm with the Jamesusan. I don't know if they believe
it like we believe it. He don't want got the
sack though.

Speaker 9 (40:30):
Right the other game, I want to start playing because
I was thinking today I do that.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
Every once in a while. I think visually, it's not
hurt yourself.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
How it comes out. But I don't listen to I
don't listen to a lot of other sports radio.

Speaker 5 (40:47):
And I can see here with us, you don't have to.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
That came to an epiphany today. I was like, why
am I not that interested in others?

Speaker 9 (40:54):
I learned more on the show during the week than
I do listen to all the other shows come.

Speaker 2 (40:59):
By, and when I'm driving around, I'm like, it bores me.

Speaker 9 (41:02):
Now because I don't learn anything. I'm not I learn
more by asking you guys questions on this show. One
thing you've always done is you always talk about when
you watch film, a player that jumps out to you,
or a guy that we need to watch out for,
a guy that, like you may not know about this guy.
So going forward every week and This is like one

(41:22):
of the fun things for me during the game is
to focus in on a guy that you guys talk
about and say, Okay, I'm gonna watch this guy in particular,
because usually when y'all talk about him, he gives us
hell like almost every week. So every week, you guys
start picking somebody that either you enjoy watching on film
of the opponent, somebody that could cause problems, somebody for

(41:44):
you know, the casual fan to go, Okay, I'm not
gonna just watch just the game.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
I'm gonna watch this guy a little bit too. So
who's your guy? It can be offense or defense, just
somebody that we should watch this week.

Speaker 7 (41:54):
If you may have two guys man offensive defense, that's
too much, righting, No, No, you can do whatever.

Speaker 6 (41:58):
Offense defense me if he plays, I know he's banged
up a little bit, but if he is playing. Loveland
the tight end for the Bears, new guy, right, yeah,
numbers just oh numbers. Love Loveland is eighty four, right yeah,
comment his eighty five love?

Speaker 2 (42:18):
What should we watch for him?

Speaker 3 (42:19):
Why are we watching that guy?

Speaker 5 (42:21):
He gonna block?

Speaker 6 (42:23):
He's gonna block. I don't say that he's gonna block.
They they rely on their tight ends of going there
and block. But when he get the ball in his hands,
he a dog. He a dog, junkyard dog.

Speaker 3 (42:34):
All right, defense defense.

Speaker 5 (42:35):
Oh defense man, that's a good one.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
Let me go out, you mind, rad Quiel.

Speaker 7 (42:43):
I want to see second half the quarterback, their quarterback,
the second half Williams. Caleb Williams. Second half, Caleb Williams.
Can he stay within the game, in the control of
the game. And uh, this guy has not played well
and they gave him a lot of money. That's Grady Jared,
number fifty, Oh defensive line. I want to see what okay,

(43:04):
because we control him in the middle.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
We got them.

Speaker 5 (43:07):
I was going with the other guy that gave a
lot of money to Montes Sweat.

Speaker 3 (43:10):
Yeah that's two years ago, twenty four million.

Speaker 5 (43:13):
Year Montes Sweat.

Speaker 3 (43:14):
We'll see what he can do against the number ninety eight.

Speaker 6 (43:16):
The second the second year left tackling Tyler Goeiton won. Yeah,
best names in football Montez Sweat Sweat.

Speaker 3 (43:23):
All right.

Speaker 9 (43:24):
So Williams in the second half for you, jareded just
to see if he has it, has a good game batance.

Speaker 3 (43:30):

then I have never received a standpoint and receive and
then Montes sweat tenth player pick.

I'm gonna go with Cowboys. I still think they are
the better team overall. Okay, but they're gonna have to

Three, twenty seven. Chris, what is your score? I'm not
gonna have a big gap.

Kurt Jesse. What do you got? Everything says it should
be high scoring. It'll probably be seventeen to fourteen, but.

Probably they're supposed to be a little bit of weather.
It's supposed to rain the day before Saturday understorm Scott's
thunder storms, and it's supposed to be light rain on Saturday.

the two offenses. I believe that the team that has
the ball last will win this football who I think
those going to be a back and forth game. But
