Speaker 7 (02:22):
He got a jug of coffee.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
He's coming, bro, he said, he said, she said, what
did you say that? Yeah, that is what she's I'm

Speaker 9 (02:33):
The let The letdown is on the way, sir, trying

got a call the other day. SMI give me Jesse
your number.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Man, And I heard you talking about that the other day,
so that went well with you and Isaiah.

Speaker 8 (03:03):
Yes, oh man, I was you know when.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
He hit me, Sam, I got something I can't do.
You think Jesse will be what it was?

Speaker 5 (03:10):
I appreciate you. I appreciate you deliberately.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Brought with another person, look out for another person. And
all I had to do is just give out a number.
You know, most people like, well, man, what is it.
I'm like, you want to help somebody?

Speaker 8 (03:23):
Come on? And it was yeah, I'm glad it was
to be uh yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
And then he couldn't do it because of the date
in the structure, and all of a sudden, the next
day he get a call that's that moved another date
that came free.

Speaker 8 (03:40):
I was like, see, when you help others, God will
bless you. Bro get that out and got blessed by Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Of life's just been showing up, show up when you
one word of advice I could give anybody that's trying
to break into any industry, sports, whatever, Go to everything,
meet everyone, and never say no, because you never know
when those opportunities.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Unless you at one of them didy parties.

Speaker 8 (04:05):
Then.

Speaker 7 (04:07):
It's okay to say no.

Speaker 8 (04:08):
Don't.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
I don't, don't go in the back rooms, say no,
just say now go you need to one of them.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Glad I wasn't because I've probably been right up in
the middle of there'd be some tape on me somewhere.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Who is this looking guy right here? You want to
come back here with us?

Speaker 8 (04:26):
All right?

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Let's baby.

Speaker 7 (04:31):
By the way I.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Walked in, I knew something was up because Jesse was
in that chair.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
He gave that chair up real quickly. I want no smoke.

Speaker 8 (04:41):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
I don't understand.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
Like I love Nate, Nate loves me, But you don't
want them pauls that Nate got.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
No, you don't want them pauls being put on you.

Speaker 6 (04:53):
Even when he joke around and he'd be like, ah, Jess,
you do one of them, I'd be like, damn.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
I just imagined him and his prime putting palls on people.

Speaker 7 (05:02):
What was that thirty years ago?

Speaker 8 (05:03):
God?

Speaker 2 (05:04):
But I'm telling him, man speaking of putting, putting, Pauls
on folks, rams rounds, put fall.

Speaker 7 (05:12):
Let's get into it.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
I'm just saying, I think back over it, and uh,
I got the yell.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
A lot of time yet, a lot of time to think.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Number ninety five, U poona Ford and they gotta do
name Fisk number fifty five.

Speaker 8 (05:29):
And see, oh, what's you call it.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
I wanted to go up to the left tackle, the
new left tackle, Mike Nate Thomas, Nate Thomas. I wanted
to go up to, say, Nate number eight playing games.
I hate when the dude and he is.

Speaker 8 (05:47):
His second year smart last year, well he coming off
that end.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
He's swiping, he's bull rushing, he jerking and yanked.

Speaker 8 (05:55):
This year here he picking his spots running.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
He'll stop, He'll come into you and he'll stop and
he'll have you thinking.

Speaker 8 (06:04):
You blocking, setting setting you up.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
Yeah, a little bit slower and normal rhythm.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
And I'm sitting up there and they and they and
they said Nate had a good day, and I'm just saying,
Nate got put in a trap. I'm like, I'm not,
you know, but uh, when I see him, I'm gonna
tell him, say son, you did okay, but you did
not do great. Don't don't let them fool you, because

(06:32):
this is a different speed than number eight, bro.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
And that goes to show you how, you know, guys
go from that first year to the second year.

Speaker 8 (06:39):
You know.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
One of the things about the guys talking about his
Jerk Verse from the Rams, and one of the things
that Jerk Verse has done is he has now taken
his game to the next level because he said, I'm
going to seek greater help and he has spent all
off season working with Aaron Donald. There's a viral video
out there. He went to Aaron Donald's home and Aaron
put him through one of his infamous workouts and almost

(07:02):
broke them. And Aaron Donald almost broke Jared Verse. That
Jared Verse said, heah, he was asking Aaron Donald's wife,
can you call nine one one? Can you call nine
one one to get this guy?

Speaker 5 (07:14):
He ain't even in the league. Well, I mean he's
not too far removed from them, but still he in
football sha No.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
But but Aaron Donald, let me see, let me tell
you what he is in football shape? Do you think
versus in football shape? Because he just made Verse go
sit down.

Speaker 8 (07:31):
Yeah, you read it broad.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
That championship call happened to come. They go, hey, listen, run, Yeah,
we got a week left. Give it the five games.
Can you give it three games of the playoff run.
We're about to bring up a spot. Yeah, so you know,
but that's when you're talking about learning. When when you
hear Nate and you hear myself and you are other
pro athletes and we and you hear the term and

(07:56):
it's a it's a it's a common term, but there's
so much depth to with learning how to be a professional.
It doesn't just mean learning how to play football. We
all know how to play football. You don't get to
the National Football League not knowing how to play football.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
It's the game within the game that you have to master.
You have to understand about nutrition and sleep and dieting
and conditioning and adding tools to your toolbox, getting with
the veteran guys, learning how to set things up. Like
they said, he said, listen, man, you think you were
doing good, but that young man was putting you in

(08:34):
the trap, right because if he come across you.

Speaker 6 (08:36):
Again, you're gonna have your mindset like, oh yeah, I
got him, and the next thing you know, you in
a blender, right, Like, those are the veteran games that
you learn being in this game or ingratiating yourself around
veteran guys like an Aaron Donald who might lower you
to sleep and let you think, oh yeah, and Aaron
Donald might let you get one on them and like, okay,

(08:56):
oh yeah, I got him. And then next thing you know,
he who and he BUYU.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Last Super Bowl when he took over in the fourth quarter,
I saw him just set that dude up all game long.
All of a sudden the fourth quarter came.

Speaker 6 (09:07):
He just go all right, let me, let me, let
me go. You know, you watch guys like Chris Jones,
Yes it'll happen. You're like, oh Chris Jones not doing mother,
no not.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
Then they go.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Fourth quarter, Okay, it made computer. I't of lie, you
didn't it. Remember one time he plays against the Cowboys.
That's the highest at one point, the highest paid defensive player.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
In the d Those type of guys, those type of
veterans understand the game. They understand the like I said,
the chess match and what you play with and so.

Speaker 5 (09:35):
But young fellows gotta learn that.

Speaker 6 (09:36):
They got to learn that, they got to get better
with that and and and hopefully in time they'll understand
that and the greats figure it out.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
That's how they stay this league.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
You know.

Speaker 8 (09:46):
Another thing that got me was I'm thinking that.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Everybody that got drafted this year, and plus guys from
last year injured, our second year players would be doing
the preseason games. But if they'll start, I'm getting worried
that coach saying that none of his starters are gone.

Speaker 8 (10:06):
I don't get that.

Speaker 7 (10:07):
Yeah, I've been watching.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
If you've been watching this week, the preseason games that
have been on almost every team, if not every team,
their first team is getting reps, whether that's half.

Speaker 8 (10:17):
A quarter, full quarter series.

Speaker 10 (10:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (10:21):
Something is that.

Speaker 7 (10:21):
Where you get worries you does it wear you dress?
Because I mean, hell, you're getting hurt in practice.

Speaker 8 (10:26):
I beat up yesterday.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Long But I'm old. I'm from the old school.

Speaker 6 (10:31):
I carried the old school mindset and I fought with
people on the internet and then these studios about playing time,
who should play, who should not play? Damn it, you're
playing football. Yes, the only way to get better at
playing football is playing football. Yes, when you tell me
when Andy Reid, who is arguably probably the second greatest coach,

(10:53):
third greatest coach in NFL history.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
I know I don't want to.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
You know, I don't know the Bill Watson of the world,
but he after after Bill Parcells. He's in that conversation
when he says that Jesus of football gotta play. Nobody
else is off limits to me. When Patrick Mahomes goes
out there, have to play because any Red said, I
need to see these guys get out there and get
some reps. Nobody's off limits to me, Like nobody's off

(11:18):
limits to me, especially when your team isn't a team
that has historically shown that you can perform when it
matters the most.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Can you repeat that again what you just said, what's
part all of it. What I'm trying to say is
what you said need to be echoed. I just play
around the league we have we have become.

Speaker 6 (11:47):
So like even in practices, we have become so adverse
to playing the game that we're supposed to be playing.
Everything is we got these sports bras on that that
tell us how many plays these guys play? Got he
can't play this many plays? Gods can only work so

(12:08):
many hours. I'm like, did we come here to play football?
Or did we come here to play football, like I
don't get the fact that, oh, you know, we're looking
at this monitor with monitoring these gods there. And I'm
not saying that technology is not important. We have to
evolve and we have to adapt to technology. But sometimes
simplicity is best. I play football, that is my occupation.

(12:32):
I should probably do the thing and get the reps
and my occupation. That's gonna make me better in it.
And I go back to saying this, and let me
also say this, I understand the environment in which we
live in as far as being covering and being a
part of the Dallas Cowboys, I understand that Brian Schottenheimer,
who is the head coach, does not necessarily have all

(12:55):
the powers in an audio I'm doing my air quotes
right now, have the power or powers to say who
and what and when and where. So maybe in his
heart of hearts and I don't know this, he wants
God to go and play. But as someone who has

(13:17):
a little bit more.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
Power than he does, that says, yeah, he's not playing,
he's not playing, he's not playing, and he has to
just eat that.

Speaker 6 (13:28):
That's just how it goes a lot of the time
in this universe. You you You're a part of the ecosystem,
but make no mistake about it, you don't have the
final say so in the ecosystem.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
I just picked up what I'm putting down, you know,
And I don't want nobody hurt. I really don't.

Speaker 8 (13:52):
But when they, you know, Nate Man all of a
sudden says.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
You got hurt in practice today. Oh no, no, no, you're
gonna change your stance. I'm I'm riding with coach osmosis.
Practice is practice is practice, let's practice. I mean, you
really think you can change somebody fate, and you really
think you can stop somebody from getting hurt. You really
think by if I let him run walk through speed

(14:20):
as a wide receiver, then all of a sudden he
got Philadelphia and he got to go one hundred miles
an hour for thirteen fourteen players in a row. Then
all of a sudden, his handstrings get fatigued, and you
send him on a nine route and he popped. And
then all of a sudden, now you want to come
back at everybody with a litit of football common sense saying.

Speaker 8 (14:39):
Well, you know, he didn't practice much more. Maybe he
should have come on.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Fellas practice football like Jesse says, let what happens happen,
and what you have left after training camp take it into.

Speaker 7 (14:50):
The season whoever's left, right.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
But that's how you.

Speaker 6 (14:57):
That's how you build the love, that's how you won.
You build toughness, that's how you change culture, and that's
how you build Honestly, if it, if it happens to
come to that, yes, you build depth.

Speaker 8 (15:11):
Yes, yes, and and.

Speaker 6 (15:13):
What and what will happen is in late November in January,
because if you're not, because what we're talking about now,
we're not talking about season ending, right, like, no one
has had, no one is in practice has had a
season ending injury. Well I take that back, Rob Jones,
but even that was two to three months, so there's
still some potential that he may even be able to

(15:33):
come back. There has not been an a c l
Achilles or knock on wood.

Speaker 8 (15:39):
But it's been that's what.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
It's Okay, it's it's a it's a little booboo here,
it's a little toe here, an.

Speaker 5 (15:52):
Ankle here, a back here, a couple couple backs. You'll
be back. You'll be back.

Speaker 6 (15:58):
But what happens is I'm building the callouses of that
when I get to November and I need dudes to
be I need to be car heart, tusking leather tough.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 8 (16:11):
I don't need we need. I need car heart. You
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
You ever have a car heart jacket a car heart?
You ain't just ripping a car heart, you know what
I mean?

Speaker 6 (16:20):
You ever had a tusking leather You never have a
good you know that good leather coat that's gonna last
you for a while.

Speaker 8 (16:28):
You see what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (16:29):
You need that in November, in December and January in
the playoffs, that's what you face. You go and face
car heart, and you go and face tusking tough leather
in the playoffs. And you coming in there with your
pleasure and your synthetic fabric, and you're getting your butthole
tore about you because you just ain't built for that.

Speaker 8 (16:50):
Check this out.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
And I tried to pause on that whole.

Speaker 8 (16:53):
I tried you it's okay.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
I try to tell people, it's amazing how we try
to pick up our practices practicing among ourselves. I laughed
at that, y'all told you I was wrong, And people
falling all over the place, And I tried to tell
a few guys that say, you know what, y'all the
rams has been here and they practiced for almost two hours.

(17:16):
They had like four or five different team segments. I said,
did y'all notice something?

Speaker 8 (17:21):
Nobody on the ground.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Nobody on the ground because they know how to practice
and what in the intensity what they practiced with. You know,
as a running back, you're gonna get hit, just like
Fergie yesterday he kind of relaxed and what you called
it hit him, caught him off guard. But if you
always alert and always read it to be hit, you

(17:43):
run like that, you practice like that, so it's less.

Speaker 8 (17:47):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
These kids got to learn how to and I'm saying kids,
but we got some veterans out of there.

Speaker 8 (17:51):
You got to learn how to practice. Man them kids
to you, you can say, you can say.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
You got kids older than them.

Speaker 8 (17:57):
Kids. Yeah, do hi knowing and not knowing.

guys that he just came out of his mouth.

Speaker 7 (21:10):
He's the new Curd of the show.

Speaker 6 (21:12):
Tell us what I was saying that you know, there
wasn't any season ending injuries on the team, And I said,
Rob Jones, he's scheduled to be back two or three
months with the broken neck. Well today, Rob Jones, the
Cowboys move Rob Jones headed to ir His season is
done with the neck injury. That makes room for the
Cowboys to go and sign someone. The Cowboys did go

(21:34):
and sign someone, someone who is very familiar with the
Cowboys with Oxnard with the position that playing running back
for the Cowboys. The Cowboys signed running back Malik Davis
to the roster. Don't know if that means because of
the ankle injury that Oh the heel injury that that
Blue suffered. And I know that Miles Sanders was nursing

(21:58):
a little boo boo on his lower body. So, uh,
that now looks like you cooling in the game. On Saturday,
you might have Javonte Williams Little Tink Tink, Hunter Lipke and.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
Malik Malik Davis. Welcome back, Malik. See see if Malik
sticks around more than training camp. All right, let's talk
about injuries. You said, you mentioned it. Jake Ferguson took
a shot in the back.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
Who's back up practice today?

Speaker 8 (22:25):
Is he okay? He is?

Speaker 2 (22:31):
I hate to say this because I know, you know
you got to give kids a chance to develop. But
he is the only one that's blocking with any consistency
and catching the ball with any consistency.

Speaker 10 (22:46):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (22:46):
They they they hoping that.

Speaker 7 (22:49):
Are you in the tight end position wide receiver?

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Yeah, they hoping that you know, Stevens can can you know,
stay intact and get it get his form back? Fan
is an okay blocker sometime. But this, uh Navel Neville,
this dude, this dude pretty tough. I mean, he ain't
the biggest dude, but here he will. He will give

(23:15):
you everything. He got trying to block some people trying
to you know, Tyler Neville. Yeah, he trying to mix
it up. And so that tight end room kind of
got me. I can't wait to talk to coach when
he gets back to the tight ends coach, because that's
kind of shaky. Yeah, that's and and and the only
one catching the ball with any consistency.

Speaker 8 (23:35):
Man, it's furgy.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
I mean, my min kept thinking of catching Jesse and
Shannon is.

Speaker 8 (23:46):
When when it's being contested.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
He's catching balls with people on his on his wrists,
on his hands, uh, you know.

Speaker 8 (23:55):
Fighting with him. He catching balls. The other guys, even.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
The Jalens, when it's contested, they're not catching the ball.
I mean, if they wide open, they may catch it,
but if any kind of contests they lose.

Speaker 7 (24:12):
What do you think that is?

Speaker 8 (24:14):
Uh? Different way they practicing.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Last year they foold was because everybody running wind wide
open and you know.

Speaker 8 (24:20):
And we were fooled. Well, the league ain't like that, Jess.
You know that.

Speaker 6 (24:24):
And also what you're seeing less of. And when you
talk about comparison to what practices looked like last year
compared to what practices look like this year, you you
take and you put together this this corner copia right now?

Speaker 8 (24:41):
What that means?

Speaker 7 (24:42):
Bro, big word, that's the thing. Whenever you see the
thanksgiving ground, give me a lot of the big horn looking.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
And so what you take words? Yes, good, good word?
How long you've been waiting to use that?

Speaker 4 (24:56):
It just hit me, just literally, did somebody tweat you
today and say can you shoe horn?

Speaker 5 (25:00):
Corner?

Speaker 8 (25:00):
Coach?

Speaker 5 (25:00):
I was looking like, what word am I going to
use to bring it all together? In corner? Uncopia? Cain't
in mind? You know what I'm saying. You know I
went the class.

Speaker 8 (25:11):
Ain't no.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
Way, no, ain't no damn way they putting that out there.

Speaker 6 (25:18):
But but what you do is you take remember last
year there was the one on ones, there were the
seven on seven. There was these different periods that they
had a lot last year.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
And so to.

Speaker 6 (25:27):
Nate's point is that when I'm doing one on ones,
when I'm doing seven on seven, you're gonna see more
of the wide open catches, the more of the less
contested catches. So when you talk about the collection of
all those plays in the highlights that we get a
chance to see, it looks like a player has caught
so many passes in a particular practice and like, oh man,
this guy's having a really good day because he caught

(25:49):
four passes in one on ones, he caught another four
five and seven on seven, and then he caught two
in team. So when you when you when you put
it all together, you're like, man, he had a day.

Speaker 5 (25:58):
I saw him. I saw him physically catch the football
ten times.

Speaker 8 (26:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
And then everybody goes out and buys their trading cars
and go and now so you're I'm gonna get into
my fantasy team. This dude's good ball.

Speaker 6 (26:10):
Yeah, but now you put him in that traffic traffic
and the eleven on eleven that coach Shott and Hammer
saying I'd much rather do eleven on eleven.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
Those those players look different, y'all like that. I love
it because it's I love it.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
It's what you You weren't a fan of it, now you, Yeah,
I am, because like you say, the passes ain't coming perfect,
no more, right, passes ain't perfect. So we want I
want to see when you stretch out a little bit
behind you, when you know you're gonna get that rib shot,
or how you're gonna catch it and cradle when you
know that smack coming so I want to I want
to know this now, and I get a chance to say, Oh,

(26:46):
he ain't finna do nothing. He alligated on. See, ain't
finna reach out and get there.

Speaker 6 (26:49):
Yeah, the quarterback is standing back there. They're doing seven
on seven. The quarterback standing back there. Somebody throw pitching
the ball and he's standing back there. No pressure, there's
no going off in his head.

Speaker 5 (26:57):
He's back there.

Speaker 6 (26:58):
I got you know what I'm saying, Like I'm I
don't have to sift through anything. There's nobody at my feet,
nobody near my knees. I'm not moving in the pocket. Yeah,
I could deliver a strike all day long. It's pitching
catch for the quarterback. That's unrealistic. I get the concept
of it. You want to see certain things, but it's
unrealistic in the sense of what happens now when I
know what the protection is. Nate slipped, right, Nate slipped

(27:22):
a free rush's coming in what you do now?

Speaker 8 (27:24):
Right?

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Or if you look out, I'm doing what I'm saying,
or all these things are happening now.

Speaker 6 (27:33):
Where you have to you have to kind of put
the game, put the play in a game type atmosphere.
It's not gonna be perfect. Nate is gonna slip at
some point time this season. Nate is gonna lose a
battle at some point in time this season. How do
you now adjust to it? Because I was getting ready
to throw the ball and then now that the tackle's
coming like this, I have to now reposition myself and

(27:54):
find the next window to throw the ball in. Now
you know is the safety coming down? Is am I
throwing them to a hospital ball? All these things now
is what you have to use your mentals to get
through receivers when they're running these routes. I always talk
about running routes, and running routes is just not a
full speed run the route. There's tempo to it. You
have to understand where do I follow them, the progression

(28:17):
of things. If I'm the second read in this route,
then I don't have to be as fast because if
I come open as the second read of this route,
if I come open too early when it's time to
get to the second read, I'm covered. So I can
maybe I can maybe dance a little bit, I can
maybe sell another route and then boom. I have to understand,
oh it's his zone?

Speaker 8 (28:37):
Is it man?

Speaker 5 (28:38):
If it's man, that I know that I have to
keep this thing moving.

Speaker 6 (28:41):
Give my you know, show my numbers to the quarterback
that I'm ready to catch the ball if it zone.
I got a loan, I gotta be I gotta be
quarterback friendly in that pocket. I can't run through that
zone and miss the window. So these are all the
things that you don't get in seven on seven, you
don't get in one on ones, that you consistently get
in eleven on eleven team type periods.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
How many guys do you think because we talk we
always talk about talent, right, and then when you get
to this level, it's talent, it's the mental aspect, that's
the technique. There's so many things that go into each
how many guys do you think are.

Speaker 12 (29:17):
You know, we talk.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
About Jim Warriors and all that, but guys in the
receiver just the receiver position alone, that are great, great
wide receivers until you get into those situations like one
on one. This guy can beat anybody. This guy should,
this guy should.

Speaker 8 (29:37):
Be in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
But he can't hold onto the ball when somebody's close
to him, he's in traffic, he freaks out, he gets
alligator onct When you get to like this level, they
just they just yeah, like they got the speed they run,
the route they get, but there's the little intangibles that
keep them from being in the league because of the traffic,
the you know, the small things. You know, we talk

(29:59):
about all the time, Like the quarterback, he's got the arm,
he just doesn't he doesn't recoverage.

Speaker 7 (30:04):
As good, he doesn't do this.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
Like, yeah, are there like a ton of guys that
physically have like the tools that could be the next
Jerry Rice, They just don't have the little things that
keep them in the league.

Speaker 8 (30:17):
Yeah, it's you talk about it.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
There were guys like.

Speaker 6 (30:22):
Kid from Bailor the Cowboys had a couple of years ago,
had all the tools.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
This wasn't a smart dude. Terrence Williams, that's his name.
Terrence Williams had six foot one, six foot two, could
run right, could do all the things, and it had
like he had the prototypical size over speed. He had
more than enough speed.

Speaker 6 (30:41):
But then it came down to all right, now take
this part of the game and let's match it. Let's
match it to what you're supposed to be doing. And
that part it couldn't always correlate, So you stick around
for a little while, you make some plays, but eventually
that all catch, it all catches up to you, and
then you get you get moved out of the league
and you can't find your way back in because us teams,

(31:01):
you know, because teams now you're.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Trying to go to different teams. It's best to be
dads than the other way. So gifted, gifted, so gifted
to we will make plays for you, right.

Speaker 6 (31:15):
Right, right, right right, No, sure for sure, like yeah, yeah,
you have that level of talent where we'll adjust to
your knowledge and what you can do best because you're
so gifted and talented.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
But where it's Sam william he was kind of in
the middle. He was fast, he was this, but he
wasn't over the top, you know. And so after a
lot they'd be like, you know, the quarterback financy. You know,
I had enough, coach, I ain't throwing him, so you
can just take that part of the game out.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
You know, And the coach is like, man, do you
know what you like? You know the coverage you're reading.

Speaker 6 (31:46):
And this is not a Paul on Terrence Williams segment,
but it's like, those are the type of players where
when a team drafts you, they have a little bit
more patience with you. But then once they once they're
patients are thin and they let you go. You got
to go somewhere else, and you can't pick that mental
part of the game up.

Speaker 5 (32:01):
They go all right, all right, yeah, we're good.

Speaker 8 (32:04):
Now.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
You look at Hones saying I can't find a job,
and woe was me.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
You know what makes you laugh is as great as
our guy Ocho Sinko was with with Cincinnati, as great
as he was, he couldn't pick up the Belichick system
to Brady. After his first game, he literally went to
Tom and say, man, I know I want much help,
but boy, y'all.

Speaker 8 (32:28):
That that office is great.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
But it wasn't just him.

Speaker 6 (32:31):
Yeah, Ocho, Yeah, Reggie Wayne remember he Oh yeah, Reggie
Wayne went there.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
You need some time of being out. But when you
go from one.

Speaker 6 (32:38):
Offense that caters to you, yes, to an office that
you now have to cater to it.

Speaker 8 (32:43):
It's different.

Speaker 6 (32:47):
They I had a chance my rookie year I did
at Cincinnati, so I knew I knew the lover they
gave Ocho. He they made things work for Ocho. I'm
not saying that he was dumb and couldn't get it
uber talented. I mean, you're talking about the dude. We
we we salivate over Davonte Adams and his line of
scrimmage releases and his fluidity and his rock running. Davante

(33:09):
runs because Ocho walked. Don't make no mistake about it.
You go back and you watch Oho at the line
of scrimmage. He paved the way old shoe with one
of them. I would watch him every single day and practice.
I'm like, how did he do that?

Speaker 9 (33:23):
Right?

Speaker 5 (33:24):
And and you tried and I'm like, I'm gonna tell my
acl trying to do what this joker dude.

Speaker 4 (33:27):
They could have made a Netflix series just micing him
up every game, oh and just replayed the game.

Speaker 8 (33:33):
With him miked up.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
He was like that twenty four to seven.

Speaker 4 (33:35):
The funniest, one of the funniest videos ever was when
he tried to block block Ray.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
Lewis twenty four to seven.

Speaker 7 (33:40):
He was like that was he really even off the field?

Speaker 5 (33:43):
Off the field, was like.

Speaker 4 (33:44):
That, It's NonStop hilarity, always all due a corner copy
of humor.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Yes, and that's you know, and that's the thing about
our sport that is so great that if you have
that great, great.

Speaker 8 (33:59):
Over the top talent.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
How teams will adjust to you.

Speaker 8 (34:05):
You know.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
But I tell people to this day, if if Daz
would have just went early in his career and hung
out with Larry Fitzgerald, Daz would be still playing today.

Speaker 5 (34:16):
If Daz did what he's what he tried to do
at the end of his career, yes, sir man, at
the beginning.

Speaker 8 (34:22):
Of his career, still playing.

Speaker 6 (34:25):
He we we would literally be having a conversation about
is he a first ballot Hall of Famer because he
would if he if he had actually learned like to
run routes and understand coverages and all that kind of
stuff like he did towards the end of his career
when his when his freaking's athleticism kind of failed him
a little bit.

Speaker 5 (34:45):
Boy, you would have had something.

Speaker 6 (34:47):
You you would have had think think and kwan bolding,
but more athletic.

Speaker 5 (34:53):
Yes man, physical, strong, big hands. But if he couldn't.

Speaker 7 (34:58):
Godly man, All right, let's take our last break. When

Speaker 5 (38:54):
What tell us?

Speaker 8 (38:55):
Wow? Just thinking of this dude, what is his name? Aaron Donald?

Speaker 2 (39:03):
And then you think of Chris Jerald, Then you think
of uh, Jerry Rice.

Speaker 8 (39:09):
You know I'm talking Michael Irvin. Guys that.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
Either had freakish talent, I had the freakish menial mobility,
and then.

Speaker 8 (39:19):
Both like Aaron had both.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Jerry was a great athlete, but he wasn't freakish like
like oho, you know what I'm.

Speaker 8 (39:27):
Saying, and not think about that.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
What do you value most that freakish athlete by that
little less athlete.

Speaker 8 (39:35):
But with just elite that mindset, mindset, I want the freak.

Speaker 5 (39:42):
Trailer park of the field. Give me the freak, because
as a coach, I'll do the thinking.

Speaker 8 (39:50):
Yeah, I'll think for him.

Speaker 6 (39:51):
Give me the freak, Give me the freak.

Speaker 5 (39:54):
Give me every day of the week. Twice on Sunday,
freak me.

Speaker 7 (39:59):
All day, probably the probably the freak physical part.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Want to give me Michael just a little less and
he'll last forever, man, he'll laugh.

Speaker 5 (40:10):
But he was both Mike.

Speaker 8 (40:12):
Mike was not a freakish athlete.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
No, Leon was a freakish athlete with the freakish talent,
you know, mindset, because that's what Michael. Irvy used to
look at me sometime and I know I'll be over
to acting in food because you always got the food
in the locker room and uh, big newon, Come on man,
sometimes come on big noon because Troy, you donna cuss

(40:34):
me out or somebody you don't cuss me out for
doing something crazy.

Speaker 6 (40:37):
Mike Mike's Mike's body of work needs to be studied.
Somebody need to do a documentary, right Nobody has had
more craziness, more off the field like Mike. Anything about
Mike is what you.

Speaker 7 (40:54):
Do not want, maybe Lawrence Taylor, and.

Speaker 5 (40:56):
Then everything about Mike is what you absolutely want.

Speaker 6 (40:59):
Yes, Like like it's tales are two Mike, It's an anomaly.

Speaker 5 (41:03):
Like this dude is like he is, he's like he
goes out, he's in the club, he's you know all
of it, but he goes, don't nobody work hard on
this joker.

Speaker 4 (41:13):
He's laying dead on the table at six in the morning,
and then beat you out to practice.

Speaker 5 (41:17):
Everybody.

Speaker 8 (41:18):
When we used to spend.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
The old joint and Mike, forgive me for telling the story,
we used topend the old joint. And we'll see Mike
out there running, you know, running around the track two
three in the morning, you know, because sometime I go
over there and sleep because I didn't want to go home.
I ain't want to be late for practice, so I'll
be sleeping in my car either lock him and Michael
being there. And I asked, like working out of R

(41:41):
he's working out, looking out yea.

Speaker 8 (41:44):
R I to go right to the world after while
he was all putting cameras up man.

Speaker 5 (41:52):
Which Mike didn't probably care about that either.

Speaker 2 (41:53):
Yeah, it was like what you're doing, Mike, Oh man,
I'm working out a big fella.

Speaker 8 (41:57):
Come on, I ain't get something. I'm like, man, please, man,
you work out.

Speaker 5 (42:03):
You're working out. But it's like you know the same thing,
like you know, Lawrence Taylor.

Speaker 6 (42:08):
I remember Bill Parcell telling the story or no, no, no,
Bill Belichick telling the story he was like going to
tell Bill Parcells, like, man like, man, LT keeps showing
up to these meetings late. Man like, I'm trying to
get I'm trying to conduct these meeting. I'm trying to
do this.

Speaker 5 (42:23):
And Bill Parcells just looked at Bill Belichick and says,
start to meet later. He's like, like, what's the problem.
He's like, you know, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (42:32):
Or they'll say, like, you know, man, LT, come in.
He'll come late to the meeting. He'll be half sleep
and then they wake up at the end of the
meeting and I'll say, do you know what we're doing
up there? And I said, LT, wake up, slept the
whole meeting, and go, yop, we're going to do and
know the whole thing. It's just certain dudes, you're just like,
don't be like him, but be like him, but be
like him, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
A recliner in his meeting Dan had and they mean
he had a big recline and there you know, he
got that recliner. But nobody knew once our game was over,
especially at away games. Dean was one of the first
dudes I saw what do with the iPad I guess
because he could afford it. He would start watching not

(43:17):
the last game we played, but he would start watching
the other team right then.

Speaker 7 (43:20):
The next week game.

Speaker 8 (43:21):
Yeah, he'll start. How did he get that?

Speaker 2 (43:25):
He was with, you know, I'll come in Monday. He
already looked at the game. I like he got a recliner.

Speaker 5 (43:32):
Because they already knew the game playing.

Speaker 6 (43:35):
Yeah, that's why you can go out there in the
field and be dancing before the fuck and be doing
all this.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
You know the you know, the funniest thing in the
world is when you get a new position coach and
he's trying to establish himself and I can't think who
it was trying to come in and establish himself on
den Damn, well, we got to do that. Hold on, man,
let me show you something. Turn the field. You see
that dude right there, number eighty, I'm following them all
over the field.

Speaker 8 (43:59):
Y'all figured it was Jared Rice. He said, I'm following
all over the field. Y'all got the risk, like, why
see you on Sunday?

Speaker 5 (44:09):
On Sunday?

Speaker 8 (44:10):
