It used to be in our household, Monday, in our household.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
I'm not judging. I'm not judging.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
In our household, you can stretch to a week. In
our household, you can almost stretch. We had five kids.
Oh yeah, we had five kids and everything.

Speaker 6 (02:29):
If you're stretching a week, you poor.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah we we, I mean we went poor. We were
just greeting and hungry, and my mama had fixed a lot.

Speaker 7 (02:36):
I feel like the sides the vegetables can last a
little long. Yeah maybe the turkey turkey.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Be going quick, but yeah, I get tired of it
after about Monday.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
I'll eat it till Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
See, because what happens is you eat it for two
days and then you'll forget it's in there. It is
a few things like the vegetable stuff like that. You'll
go back and you'll get maybe a week. I'm stretching it,
maybe five days.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
You know, I'm like Sunday because if Thanksgiving is on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
I'm done.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
So Fridays I went too far. Five days.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Yeah, so, and maybe even Saturday because as we all know,
we're all working on Thanksgiving. I was, I was either
playing or working on Thanksgiving. So I do mine on Wednesday.
So Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, I'm pretty much done Sunday
for sure.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
So you're talking about now. You ain't talking about when
we was kids. Oh yeah, yeah, you don't have a
choice when you were a kid. I have a choice
now like now now now now, we don't have it.
I don't have it now, I don't even have it.
You don't have what Thanksgiving? I don't. I don't. I
don't do it. I don't. I don't do it. I
mean I thank God and I pray and whatever I eat,

(03:53):
I don't cook. No, certain no, really, you cater it.
My wife ship fixing this something. But and it's not traditional.
It's just you know, I thank God for the Thanksgiving,
But no, they don't even laugh one day.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Okay, now I do.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
If there's turkey left, I'll go three days.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Nothing.

Speaker 6 (04:14):
Nothing to me is better then leftover.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Roast and turkey that you put in the fridge that's cold,
that you can just put some mayonnaise on some bread
and eat it cold.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
No turkey did once I became the provider.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
No turkey.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
No, there's never turkey.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Thank you, No ham either, thank you? What do you do?
Ribs and crop pop? I'll do ribs, man, After thirty
years of growing up eating turkey.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
I don't do turkey. I told the people at.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
The bank today, I say, man, I spent all my
life eating turkey. You think that's why I don't do Thanksgiving?
Ready to God, let it go.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
There's there's no there's no turkey.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
There's no turkey. Turkey and barely any ham I've done.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
I've done like a I've done a seafood one before
Thanksgiving where it was like lobster and shrimp and crab
legs and all that kind of stuff that's expensive. I
had money then, Okay, that's when you're playing. Yeah, I
actually I ordered the stuff to my people at Jimmy
Seafood in Maryland. I like literally had it all shipped in,

(05:18):
Like oh wow, yeah, that.

Speaker 6 (05:19):
Must have been when you was dressing out.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Yeah, it was good money.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
That was when you got here.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
It was good money.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
That was before that. I wish you had fifty two.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Before before I wish we had fifty three. And Jesse Hollis, Yeah,
that's when the checks was coming in and I was
like okay. I was like sitting stuff, said what we need,
we need a bushel of crabs. Let's sit the bushel
of crabs.

Speaker 6 (05:42):
Oh man, well, good stuff. Happy Birthday two?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Troy eight man a Troy?

Speaker 3 (05:50):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (05:50):
Boy?

Speaker 6 (05:50):
That was Troy today?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Kurt fifty fifty.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Nine, running strong, looking strong, feeling good?

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Was that eight was this beer. I'll tell you one
thing about Troy dough for Troy be on that Katie
trail with that shirt off. Yeah him, one day he
got the dude, try get the recipe. Troy, get on
that Katy trail and no no shirts allowed for Troy.

(06:19):
He don't even come out of the house with a shirt.

Speaker 8 (06:20):
Old.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
He get on that Katie trail.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
First time I ever ran by him on the trail
because I used to live right by the trailer.

Speaker 6 (06:25):
I was like, I used to run on that thing
every day.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
And it was the middle of the day. I'd gotten
off work earlier or something, and I was like, man,
that's a tall dude. Closer I got, I was like,
dude was in pretty good shape.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
He looks kind of older, but he listen.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
He got about probably like ten yards from him, Like, damn,
that's Troy. Like, no, Shirty got the red Troy got
the rest of oh, you know, and he goes all
the way down past don't he going past the ice house?

Speaker 3 (06:52):
If you got to go past it, you got to
come back to.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
It, you know.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
He is, and then he'll go home, shot Rump, come
back and get a beer from the ice house. Troy
got the recipe that what's going on? He has the recipe.
Call us today.

Speaker 6 (07:03):
We want to hear from you.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Eight aight eight eight five five two two nine seven.
Kurt has a great question today. Really, yes, I like
this question because this is a great question because now
you can actually well, I know the answer is going
to be on defense. But you said skill players, which
team Philly or Dallas has the best skill position players

(07:28):
probably got.

Speaker 7 (07:29):
A between the two, you know, pickings, the two top
wide receivers, the tight end, the running back to quarterback.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
Because I think running back is definitely going to go
to Philly, right, tight end is probably.

Speaker 9 (07:40):
Going to go to this year.

Speaker 7 (07:41):
I don't know right now.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Well, yeah, if you if you look at the spell,
if we're doing it, if we're doing like not name recognition,
we're just doing small sample size. Javanta's having a better year,
but Javans is not better than no, right, not better than.

Speaker 4 (07:55):
So I guess the question is, Kurt, is it this
year right now, in the current eight or just overall?

Speaker 7 (08:02):
I guess I was thinking this year because you know
Pickens and Brown?

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Yeah, oh, then you the Cowboys. The Cowboys have the
better wide receiver duel this year. Davante's playing better than Saquon, quarterback,
Dak's better than and they they probably had the advantage
dB wise.

Speaker 7 (08:22):
Defensive back.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Yeah, I think Quon and Cooper Dejean and even the
Dori Jackson. I think that group is better than what
than what we have m Yeah, so the Cowboys will
probably win if we're just doing the simple size of
this sea.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Where we're at.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Yeah, Yeah, Philly's kind of It's weird because if you
think about it, they're kind of in a down year,
but they've lost two games.

Speaker 7 (08:50):
Yeah, that was kind of I wrote that long statement
about Hurts. It's like they're complaining up there. You know,
it's like if offense is right, we're not aggressive enough,
this and that and whatever. And then you look at
the numbers and one of the best teams in the league.
You know, sure they're not fancy, but just look at
who they beat. You know, they they've beaten Kent City,

(09:14):
the Rams, Tampa Bay, Detroit, Detroit, I mean Green Bay.
I mean they're they're beating good teams. So what are
they complaining about?

Speaker 1 (09:22):
And then they lost to Denver into who else, Giants
that was in the division game. Fellas. I was talking
to a guy earlier that does one of the shows,
and he was one of those things that I like,
that's that's sweet, and it just made me and I'm
gonna be a Debbie Downer. Well you gotta lose the record.

(09:44):
I guess that's what you have to go. A boy.
I don't like playing that game.

Speaker 10 (09:52):
Man.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Let's start with Philly and beat them, and let's start
something and then let's win some games. Then ask me
that question. I mean, because the way I was brought up,
especially by the last head coach that had that was
significant in my life, is you don't want to play
the what if game. You want to play what's happening now.

(10:15):
What's happening now is the dude is eight and two
and I don't even know I ruck it. I know
we got to tie, so five and one? Yea, what
do y'all?

Speaker 6 (10:22):
What do y'all?

Speaker 4 (10:23):
What's your feeling on the game? What kind of game
do you think it's gonna be? Do you think it's
gonna be gritty kind of you know, is the game
going to play like Philly's defensive line and just tough, hard,
nos gritty or is this a game where maybe their
offense gets it together because maybe the Cowboys figure out
a way to score points and it's gonna be more.

Speaker 6 (10:43):
Of a wide open game.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
Or how do y'all think the game is gonna kind
of the flow of the game is gonna be?

Speaker 3 (10:48):
I think I think gritty. I think nip and tuck
type game.

Speaker 11 (10:52):
Bill goals are going to count, everything Like this is
gonna be one of those games where, like take the
points when we go back and talk about this on
on Monday, like there's gonna be defining moments like ooh
that third down if we.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Could have got that third down, or like I don't
I don't think this is on either side. This is
gonna be a wide open, blowout game. I don't think
that this thing is gonna get out of hand. I
think it's always gonna be within a one score game.
I don't think either side will get up maybe six
points or more on either side, and it's gonna come
down to who's able. And that's and and that's partly

(11:26):
where Kurt to what you were talking about of what
are they complaining about, right, it's it's they figured out
a way to win these narrowly close games, and a
lot of times that's making one more play than the
next team. And that's that's sometimes what football comes down to,

(11:50):
just you having the ball last, or you making this
significant stop last. And and and that's the frustrating part.
I believe that when you hear like Age talk about
the offensive woes, it's we practice this explosive stuff. We
talk about being more wide open like the other teams

(12:10):
in the NFL, because we have the talent to do so.
And then we get in the game and we get
and whether that's the quarterback or the play caller, or
the play caller calling it in the quarterback changing it,
you get kind of stale and very very complacent in
what you're calling because you don't want to make the mistake.

(12:32):
And and that's a lot of time, but football is
it's the team who makes the least amount of mistakes.
And they're not making a whole lot of mistakes, and
so they're like, hey, listen if you know, and their
defense is playing well. And that's why when you hear
the old adage from coaches that every possession should end
in the kick, whether that's a field goal, whether that's
an extra point, or whether it's a punt. Because now

(12:55):
with that defense, they're saying, hey, when our defense, we
doubt that folks can drive seventy seventy five yards eighty
yards on us throughout the course.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Of the game, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
And I think maybe that's in the back of Jaylen
hurts his head and he's saying, like, I don't have
to go out there and put the ball in harm's away.
I don't have to go out there and be Superman
or Batman or whatever and try to win this thing
by myself. Our defense is good enough, and our defense
is able to flip the field for us where if
we pin them back, you know, we punt and they
get the ball on the fifteen and they don't do

(13:29):
much with it, and then they punt it back to us.
Now we have the ball close to the fifty, and
then now the field position thing changes. We get a
field goal, we get a touchdown, because eventually they have
enough skills play, but they're going to get a touch down.
They're going to get a field goal. So they're playing
that field position game throughout the game.

Speaker 6 (13:44):
All right, let's take our first break when we come back.

He's gonna say one thing from West Monroe.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
He can hold his.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
Bossy Yes, yes, yeah about you, Kurt, Yeah yeah, two
beers in He's like I'm out try to.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Hit it too hard, Nate.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
We don't have to ask you. We've heard stories from
back in the old days.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
The only thing I couldn't never mind, I don't want
to get into it. Huh. Sure, Why do you drink?
Some people have a thousand reasons of why they drink. Question,
But the bottom line is it alters your mind slightly.
And that's the only reason, you know, relaxes me. It

(17:15):
alters your mind, or it gets me excited. It alters
your mind, you know. So when I figured out that
I didn't want my mind to be altered, I stopped
drinking again.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
And from Westville, I will take any mind a chance
I get to break out of that.

Speaker 6 (17:36):
Oh so you can.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
On the defensive side of the ball for the Cowboys,
is it even fair or reasonable to say they're this
in the league, they rank here, they they're this against
the run or this against the past. They're giving up
this many yards because this is a brand new defense, right,
I mean, this.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Is like you looked at them last week.

Speaker 6 (17:58):
This, I guess.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
I guess I'm trying to talk myself and convince myself
that this is the real defense. Now, the old defense
before this influx of guys. It's not gonna come back,
is it? I mean, do I have to be worried
about this week going oh my gods, like last week
was the anomaly and now even with these new guys,

(18:21):
were still terrible. Or is it like, Okay, this is
a much improved defense from here forward.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
I think I think it's a better defense just by
personnel alone, but still working out the kinks, the little
things that they do up front, because unlike last week,
they have this team has no fear. The Eagles have
no fear. They are based on running the football. They

(18:48):
gonna find a way to get depending on how Hurts feel,
They're gonna find a way to get thirty thirty plus runs,
whether it's twenty five from the backs and another five
or ten from hurts, are thirty from the back in
two or three from hurts. They have no fear of
running the ball. If you hit them in the backfield,

(19:09):
they'll say, and what we coming again? It's just who
they are. So I like the fact that now we
have guys that are equipped to compete against their guys,
whereas before I never felt we was equipped equipped to compete.
We can compete against these guys, and as the year
go on, we should get better. The growth should get better.

(19:31):
I don't know what the Russian statistics to be. I've
seen games where a guy rushed for one hundred and
fifty yards, but they still lose the game because at
the most important times they couldn't run the ball. Because
it's still about situational football. So we will see will
this team be better? But I think they will be
better over time. I can't judge them. I'm not you know,

(19:53):
I'm one one of the guys. I'm with Jesse. I
wanted to make sure everybody felt good after the raided win.
But I'm not a Oh you know, I don't. I
don't sell dreams. Now we're gonna see the next three
four opponents. They're gonna they gonna test your metal. And
now where we get better as a defensive run stopping unit,
we'll see.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
And and there also will be Shoddy mentioned that they're
still gonna be on a pitch count with guys like
Overshown and Revel, so those guys aren't fully gonna be
unleashed yet. You might most likely will probably get Solomon
Thomas added to that mix, so he'll add into that
rotation up front, Perryon Winfree was activated, so that that

(20:33):
front has gotten some more some more rotational pieces to it.
And yeah, I think the days of and I thought
that was a great point by Nate of what this
defense was. By sheer player availability changes that. Again, you
life is different when you add a plus players to

(20:55):
the mix, especially into those pivotal positions. So adding Quinn
Williams to the mix definitely gives you a different outlook.
And I think I said this to day yesterday, day
before yesterday, I don't think this defense the days of
this defense of what it was the first six to
seven games of the season, six to seven. I'm sorry, Yeah,

(21:19):
I know, I think those that defenses is done. I
don't know where it will be going forward, but I'm
comfortable with saying it's somewhere in between that. Yes, and
and that's fine. And to add to the second point

(21:40):
that Nate was making is can they show up in
the situational portion of the football games when we start
talking there are going to be pivotal moments in this
game where it's third and two, third and one. Can
that defense stop a toush push? Can they stop it
on third down? Can they stop it on fourth down.

(22:02):
We all know that Nick Sirianni is one who's he's
a gambler. In some instances he might go forward where
he's you know, minus forty five and is fourth and one.
He may just say we're going forward again?

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Or hell with this defense? Before you added these guys
third and twelve? Can you get off the field right?
And so it's in those situational moments.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Are those guys going to be able to step up
and make a stop, because if they are, then that
definitely boasts your defense much better. But if they can't,
then it's like, ah, when we need you out of the
most got the talent, you just you know. And that's
the part about when we're not talking about the growing
part of it. It's even for Matt Eberflus, what guys

(22:47):
can I trust in this moment?

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Right?

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Understanding? Because when you tell me you have a pitch count? Okay,
so over song's playing twenty nine thirty snaps forty nine,
I don't know what it is, all right, let's just
say that thing happens earlier and then what you expected
Right now he's at twenty nine snaps, it's third, mid
third quarter. What happens now, like when are you pulling

(23:12):
him off the field? Are you pulling down a critl'sit
situations when now jalen Hurst breaks the pocket and run
and now the guy that you have out there can't
catch him. It took a bad angle. Or when you're
rotating those guys in and out, what group is in there?

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Right?

Speaker 3 (23:26):
When when Quinn goes out for a breather, what group
is in there? And then now is that is that
the group that Saquon breaks off a seventy yarder?

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Where you laughing because you're waiting on him to say
the name not yea, I just read yesterday and that
ain't gonna leave you. I went home me and my
wife was laugh about it.

Speaker 10 (23:43):
Yeh.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
Jesse had a face with he said, oh I left
those names off for reasons, right, yell stop Sam beat
me up in the luntroal whatever he do to me, y'all.
But yeah, So again, the disastrous days I think are over.

(24:07):
Good where they fall now? How far away do they
go from those days? I don't know. And these next
three games are going to be pivotal moments to tell
us because if you get through these next three games
and these level of opponents. We're talking about quarterback play,
running back play, coaching play, offensive play, all of that.

(24:27):
They get through this and that defense is held up,
I'll be confident in them going up against anybody because
I'm like, if they can hold up against the Eagles,
the Chiefs and then Detroit, put me, now put me
against anybody. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
Part of me, don't get me wrong, I'm really glad
that everybody's back and healthy.

Speaker 6 (24:50):
That came back, right.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
Part of me just wishes that for a game or two,
just for selfish reasons and op servation, but that Quinn
Williams was the only guy that you added, just to
see from an experimental standpoint, how much an A PLUS
player can raise, you know, raise all ships right like,

(25:13):
because you don't get a very You never get a
moment where you sign a player.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
Like that on a desire.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
Usually you're okay and then you wind up being good.
Your defense was a disaster, and if you could just
add one guy, it would be interesting to see this.
This is what one a plus guy can do. Now, look,
I'm glad everybody's back. It's a lot more fun to watch,
But part of me once wanted to just see that.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Tell you what if you want to see it, just
go put out. In last year's film, it was the
same thing earlier. This year, it's there, don't it's there.
And the only thing that has really changed is him.
Last year we had until that kid got hurt over
shown got her. He was a part of some of
the two hunder y'all Russian games. So and once again

(26:00):
I will overemphasize this. It ain't so much I'm worried
about can you run the ball? It's like Jesse said
at the beginning, we coming down the stretch, they gotta
go seventy yards. We are leading by three or we're
leading by two and they need a field goal. Now

(26:21):
they running they left Saquon right, they get on our twenty.
Will you stop Saquon? Will you force them to pass
the ball? That's what we never had here. And the
reason I like this this three game stretch because Philly's
gonna come at you. What's it called is in the

(26:42):
most desperate situation they've been in the last five years.
Kansas City and whatever's left Detroit, Gon gonna get it
from you, I promise you. That's why I love this stretch,
and that's why I think let's see them grow. Let's
see them grow, because by time we get to Detroit,
barring no injuries, all everybody should be full blast. It

(27:06):
ain't normalst snap counts. We gotta get you pumped up.
We're gonna see our defense barring injuries.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
And being you know, I said earlier this week on
the show that they're not making the playoffs, but being
the optimist, like, this is what you want to happen, right,
you want your team coming back fully healthy in the
end of November, jelling and getting ready and going on a.

Speaker 6 (27:29):
Little bit of a street going into the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
Right that you that's something you want to peak.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
At the time.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
You want to start peaking right after things given. You
want to start seeing your team peak.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
So it's set up.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
I mean, you put yourself in a whole really bad
spot earlier in the year, but like it's set up
for go do it, like this is what you want, right,
So it'll be fun, be a fun little stretch, all right,
Let's take our last break when we come back. Phone calls, predictions, Jesse,
stat of the Week, and more on.

Here, we got Chris, we got Frankie.

Speaker 6 (30:21):
He's in Atwater, California. Frankie, what's up?

Speaker 10 (30:25):
Oo?

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Up up, guys?

Speaker 8 (30:27):
How do you guys doing great?

Speaker 3 (30:28):
How are you?

Speaker 13 (30:29):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (30:29):
I'm doing fine. I'm fine. I just want to go
back to Tuesday. I saw all you guys wearing the
number twelve. Yes, it's about my it's about it's about
my waiting. I was on twelve twelve, twenty twelve, with
held at twelve. My wife and I we had a
football theme. She wore Kenna Staper, I wore Rogers Starbucks jersey.

(30:51):
And all you guys have in your jerseys. That what
brought me to call you guys.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Oh, we appreciate that is awesome.

Speaker 6 (30:56):
So you got married in twelve jerseys?

Speaker 8 (30:58):
That what you said? Yep?

Speaker 2 (31:01):
And uh. It was a football team and this year
is our twelfth year. It's going to be the thirteenth
come December twelfth, but this is our twelfth year and
it's the twelfth week of the football season. So everything
lined up.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Man, That's that's pretty awesome. What's your score for the
game this week, Frankie.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
It's gonna be a thirty twenty four.

Speaker 6 (31:20):
Who's winning Dallas, Dallasallas?

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Of course?

Speaker 3 (31:24):
That was gonna do like a twelve point win or
something like that.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Yeah, no, I mean, you know, I have some faith
in our defense, but not too much, right now.

Speaker 6 (31:32):
Okay, all right, same same, Frankie. Thank you for the call. Man, Man,
that's pretty cool. And there's still I was going to
be like, and you're still together, but he clarified for us.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
So all right, Chris, let's go to one more.

Speaker 6 (31:44):
Who we got Western Minnesota.

Speaker 8 (31:48):
Let's go, hey, boys, going out there? Man scoring well, brother,
how you it's doing good? Man in Minnesota? No snow
so far? Said no, Hey, but I just call in
for my score and one comment. My score thirty three

(32:10):
twenty four cowboys, of course. And then my my comment
is George Pickens, Man, we all see what he can do.
We can see it. Everybody can see what they own. Nine.
I'm gonna quote from a movie Alex Barwin said from
the movie called Malice, Pay the man.

Speaker 6 (32:35):
Money, pay the man's money.

Speaker 8 (32:37):
Well, thank you about all I got, boys, We.

Speaker 6 (32:39):
Appreciate it, Lesson, thanks for the call.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
All right, fellas, let's just get it out there. Let's
get let's get Jesse First twenty four to seven, always
open on the Eagles stat to watch, he's usually open,
but we need we need to close him down for busy.
But who's your what is your status?

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Yeah? Yeah, I waffled back and forth between you know
these two, because you still have to watch Jalen Hurts
and his rushing. That's gonna be critical, Like, that's gonna
be absolutely critical to make sure that we contain him
and not allow him to rush. But like I said yesterday, man,
one of the things that I've I've noticed about the
Cowboys and their defense is the flats. They they those flats,

(33:29):
and this is that that is a susceptible opening in
a zone defense. And sometimes when you run those cover
threes and those cover fours, and even sometimes if you
do you know, match cover two, depending on how that
corner is where he's moving, the flats the flats.

Speaker 6 (33:46):
Are why not then wings stop flats? Well, in football flat.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
The wings stop flats. So you know those are nice
two they don't wagh Fried, Well, you know what I mean,
does hot honey rub on the extra season then? But
the flats And so for me, the stat I'm looking
at that is Saquon Barkley his receiving yards. We talk
so much about him being stopped in the running game,
but it's it's to me, it's Saquon Barkley in the
receiving yards. If Saquon Barkley has more than sixty receiving yards,

(34:15):
we might be in a lot. Yeah. And Saquon's a
guy like he gets the ball anywhere in the field,
and that's an opportunity.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
When he when he goes out of the backfield and
goes wide, that gonna be a linebacker that follows him house.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
Okay, So here's the thing is, you only have so
many dudes. So if we're talking about a god that's
gonna be spying Jalen Hurts, then who's going to be covering?
There's gonna be another Like I say all that to say,
if if you're using over shown as the spy, then
there's gonna be another dude who's inferior in speed and

(34:52):
talent trying to cover Saquon. So whether that's Kinder from
Oklahoma or Logan Wilson or whoever else you may have
in there. So that's the part of it. Like, you know,
you don't have two overshowns. You got one, and now
you have to make a decision on which one of
these guys that you deem more worthy of having that
attention given to. And the part that a little bit

(35:14):
worries me is when the first read is not there
for Jalen and then he begins to attempt to scramble
because when he starts running overshow's gonna take off to him?
And that's when he dumps it off in the flat
to Saquon. When when they start converging on him, he
dumps it off in the flat. And now that linebacker
is running in at a different angle. So I don't know,

(35:35):
you know, maybe you might use Marquise Bell maybe a
little bit more in that hybrid type situation. I don't
know how they're particularly going to do it, but I
do know that they're gonna probably have some guy spying
Jalen Hurts and the other guy whoever the other guy
is athletically isn't good enough. It doesn't it doesn't equate

(35:57):
to the skill set of Saquon.

Speaker 1 (35:59):
But this, this is where having a better front four helps.
If they're disciplined. This four four is disciplined, and they're
wise when they're blitzed and they're wise when they it's
just changed this thing up. This is what the A
plus player gives you a better chance to do it
with less players. And so this is what this is.

(36:22):
This is the growing pains. I'm I'm I'm looking at you.
Know what I'm saying, How will we handle this? Will
we have to go an extra man? Because if we
do have to go extra man, we lose. We lose.
Jalen gonna get us. But if we can get them
with four, like the future, there were two teams that
have been they was able to get there with four,
and then they calculated when they brought that fifth guy

(36:44):
or even when they brought the sixth guy. It's about
discipline and being after the skilled to do it. I
think we have a chance. Now then y'all hear me
dog out Osa. Now I'm not dogging out Osa. This
is where Osa can shine. This is the opportunity for
him shop because you don't have as many reps. He
won't have to worry Aback again. Well now he can

(37:04):
just go. Now.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Yeah, if they can get it, they can get it
with four. Ye definitely, that would definitely help.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
And I'm not saying this is easy, right, but this
is the thing that Ibra flues and the coaching staff
or the defense line coach gotta figure out, is this
team as the game go on, can we do that?
Even if you can't, you fall ready into what are
the other eight teams are fell into.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
If you can get it, if you can get it
what you're up front four, then that helps you significantly
on the second and third level because now I'm gonna
have more guys than coverage. I can have seven guys
in coverage. That means that that the umbrella of defenders
that I have keep that corrald. But if I start
if I have to add that fifth guy and that
sixth guy into the mix because we just for whatever
reason can't get it done up front. Now that that

(37:49):
limits who I can put in coverage and what covers
that I feel comfortably running. Because again maybe that safety
that comes down is is Donovan Wilson. You know, Donovan
Wilson is a good tackler. But in space, you don't
want Donovan Wilson and and Sa Kuan dancing in space
to thank you? You know what I'm saying. Don't You
don't want them dancing in space too often?

Speaker 4 (38:08):
Nay, anybody that you're gonna be watching besides number ninety eight,
number ninety and number ninety.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Seven for the first time. I'm gonna be watching to
see what they do with Quinny. I'm telling you whatever,
if he's having a day, we're gonna be all right.
Number ninety two Quinny Williams, if he's having a day,
if he's if he's able to give us forty or
more snaps, I mean, good healthy snaps. You know the

(38:39):
way it looks they have brought in the Perry. Yeah,
they have brought in a few guys to breathe in,
you know, But I'm telling you that's the difference maker.
He's gonna Kenny Clark can get back to being himself.
I'm quite sure the first they thought Olsu was happying.
I'm telling you, your boy Clark, I don't have to

(39:01):
get might come back next, ye.

Speaker 6 (39:05):
Jesse. Anybody on either side of the ball that you're
gonna be looking at.

Speaker 3 (39:07):
Uh, you know for I'll give you one for for both.
Lookout for on the Philadelphia Eagle side. Phillips that that's
one of their big trade acquisitions, right like he he
he gives them now that significant pass rusher And he
said that they didn't have before. Like already he's had

(39:28):
like thirteen pressures eleven quarterback hits like he's And again
when you start talking about the same thing that we're
talking about, how how Quinn gives us so much more
from his interior position, Well, they got those other two
guys that Nate talks about, you know, ninety eight and
ninety Right, So those guys we have to make a decision.

(39:49):
And while and kudos to Terry Steele who did a
one end and Tyler Guyton. Give credit to those both
of those guys. They did much better than I expected
against Max Crosby. Right, you gotta do it again because
I don't know if they're gonna be able to give
you the help with those two dudes inside. And then

(40:11):
on the opposite side for the Cowboys, this this this
player is gonna have to have a big game. Jake Ferguson,
Jake is gonna have to have a big game because
they're going to focus the way that Vic Fangio runs
this defense. He his defense is always going to be
predicated on. Uh, it's gonna look like a shell defense,

(40:33):
some sort of cover fair, too high safety type looking defense.
And the problem is He always shifting that defense. He's
always it looks when you watch this game, it's gonna
look one way pre snapp, I will bet you in
amount of money it's seventy five percent of the time
it's not gonna be what it is posting app and
he's always moving and shifting guys. And they they've watched

(40:56):
enough George Pickens film, They've watched enough, they know who
Cede Lamb is. They under staying that we have to
try our best to mitigate those two dudes going off right,
because if CD doesn't have the drops he had in
week one, he's well, he might be somewhere around in
two hundred range, honestly, like he might be, and he
might have been very close to two hundred yards receiving.

(41:16):
When we look at thinking about the passes that he dropped,
and George has been on a heater lately, they're going
to want to try to smolder those guys and try
You don't eliminate that level of talent, You try to
contain it, which means the middle of the field is
gonna be available. Ferg has to break some tackles, has

(41:36):
to make some plays, and he has to be a
continue to be because he's been there this year, an
extremely viable threat that when the Cowboys get in the
red zone, he has to come up with touchdowns. He
has to have an he has to be that option
that truly comes up with touchdowns because every single point
in this game, I believe will be absolutely needed.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
And this is the difference that this is the difference
in their defense and our defense. Is we You asked
the question earlier who would cover? And we're like, well, well, Na,
Kobe Dean is gonna cry because he is, like you said,

(42:19):
he is that guy. You see, we don't have that
guy as a linebacker yet yet. I'm just saying yet
because I think it's coming. We don't have that guy
that you
