nice about that schedule? Holy cow, where do we even?

(01:58):
First off, how are you guys?

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Been while since we it's been a while, it's been

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Well, we first placed in the NFC last year? How
did we get this schedule?

Speaker 5 (02:25):
This? This is the first place schedule.

Speaker 6 (02:28):
This is a super Bowl champion? What the hell happened?
But there's gonna be some drama.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
It's gonna be battle testing, shoddy. Welcome to the Dallas Welcome,
Welcome to the leave my boy.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
If we're gonna find out does Hosmos's work?

Speaker 6 (02:43):
Mister Booker, Welcome to the Dallas Cowboys, to the.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
NFL, so so said, I gave him a year and
a half. This schedule, this schedule might be.

Speaker 6 (02:55):
Oh man, let's just let's just jump right in.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
Yes, sir, let's have some hopium. No, let's have some hopium.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
You can have all that you want to. I'm not
getting in there.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Oh my god. I want to get in so bad,
but I don't.

Speaker 6 (03:10):
Let's just get it. I mean, okay, first thing, First
things first, right out of the gate, Right out of
the gate, Philadelphia Eagles. Is this I can see where
this could be a good thing because you're catching them
before they're back in it and they're back gelling. I

(03:33):
can see where it can be a good thing. Where
you get punched in the mouth right as soon as
you open the front door and you know what you
got up front, because that this is gonna be as
nasty as it's gonna get all year. Is this a
good thing to be? Like? Okay, where are we at
as a team? Or is this a bad thing? Because
you got a new coach, you got a new system,
you got a lot of new pieces on your front line.

(03:55):
You're probably gonna have a lot of questions that you
don't have answered coming out of camp. It's gonna take
three or four weeks. How do you guys look at
playing the best not only in your division but the NFL.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Right out of the gate, you want first wing?

Speaker 5 (04:10):
Got it? No? No, because I'm I'm gonna go along
with whatever you say, because the help a ride this.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
I love it. I love it. Why I said this
earlier today in the words of the great Ric Flair,
in order to be the man you gotta beat the man.
They got to beat the man. And what better way
than to show to the world, show to yourself as

(04:41):
a player, Dak Prescott coming back from injury. What better
way to show yourself, Brian Schottenheimer introducing to the world,
to you as a head coach, then to go out
on the road on ring banner dropping night to Philhiladelphia

(05:02):
and beat the Philadelphia Phiadelphia in your like that is
to me, I'm I'm I'm presumptuolessly that Dak Prescott will
be healthy, that you'll have a healthy football team. Earlier
in the football season. You have this Cowboys Eagles matchup,
but you only seen Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurst play
three times since they've both been in the league and

(05:24):
started quarterbacks, So you'll have that factor into it. But
it will be an opportunity for you to test yourself
iron sharpened iron. This is a litmus test for the Cowboys.
Tyler Booker, you want it. Jalen Carter my friend, you
have him, Okay, uh Micah Parsons, you want to finally

(05:45):
win that Defensive Player of the Year award. Come out
the gates hot, you got Jodan mylotta you got Lane Johnson,
go to work. Ohsa, you just got paid. Show us
what you got, little Daddy, Show us what you can do.
Dak Press, you got now another weapon to go with
ceed lamb. No more excuses. You have one of the

(06:07):
best duos in the league. You're going into your tenth
or eleventh year, whatever it is. It is time for
the Cowboys team to put up or shut up. And
this is the first crack at it right now. You
get it against the Philadelphia Eagles. I love it. I
love every single bit of it.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
What about you, Nate, I'm jes by you. I got you.
I love it.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yeah, I love it because this is gonna be the
beginning of a.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
Building. Let me say this right because I don't do
moral victories.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
But however this game is played out, you would know
where you staying and from a physical standpoint, from a
mental standpoint, because Philadelphia gonna be jacked up, and we're
going to be jacked up going at the number one
guy in the league, the number one guy in our division.
So you're gonna be You're gonna get You're gonna be
giving your your best you bet putting your best foot forward.

(07:07):
So but you will after this game. You don't have
to wait seven eight, nine games.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
You will know. You will know. You will either be
broken or you will be coming up.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
Another thing, Well, is it a good thing?

Speaker 5 (07:23):
What is it?

Speaker 6 (07:24):
Four weeks? Four weeks of tapes usually what you go
off of during the season. There's no tape out there
on Schottenheimer, right, So it's gonna take two, three, four
weeks to get anything on film?

Speaker 5 (07:34):
Is it?

Speaker 6 (07:34):
Is that a good thing for the Cowboys to not
have any tape out or is it even gonna matter?

Speaker 5 (07:39):
Is this the way I see it?

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Uh, tape is for when you wanna you're getting to
know a guy. Formations, how do they play your formation
versus your formation?

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Offensive? Defensive? But basically I tell people.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
This best player on best player you get to see
because you can scheme all you want, but ain't no tape.
So you gonna the better teams in the league, like Philadelphia,
they not gonna try to.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Do a whole lot. They have the better team. They
gonna line up in.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
A four to three or three four and say block us, now,
can you block us? And we'll start scheming from there.
We'll start making jay and end game adjustments from that point.
I mean the first two or three games, you just
trying to fill out who you are and who and
who the players are on your team. Every year brings

(08:34):
a different I hate to sound like Garrett, but every
year brings a different a different player. I mean, Jalen Hurts,
we ain't looking at him as the same two years
ago when they fell apart.

Speaker 5 (08:47):
Oh man, it's Hurts the man. Now we look at
Hurts is the man be it.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
He has a great running back behind him that helps
him state of man. You each team is different each
year to turn over the lost some players.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
So the first two or.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Three games or four games, you ain't trying to scheme
up a whole lot of things. You trying to find
out who your who your team is, and who is
going to be the players on your team coming into
this twenty twenty five season.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
Another thing that that there's so many things that jump out.
I mean, we're gonna probably spend the whole show talking
about this. But another thing that's just crazy, And you
guys tell me how this affects a first year head coach. Yeah,
four Thursday games, granted one of them's one of them
is to start the season. So that's going to give
you a little bit of a break there, right, but

(09:36):
then you have, you know, the normal Thursday stretch because
they play on Thanksgiving and you get the game after that,
and then you got another one at the end of
the year that Chris high fired up for you to
work on Christmas. I have not told the wife yet,
told to stay on social media. Why I'm moving all

(09:56):
my stuff upstairs? And not only is it on Thursday
on Chris, it is an away game on Christmas. That's
the worst part. Yes, so, and that's a Thursday. It's
can be fun trying to find something to eat in
Uh was the University of Maryland on Christmas Eve? Yeah,
I'm sure a lot of things will be open. Maybe
they'll let y'all cut into the hope since everything will

(10:17):
be shut down, how hard is that going to be?
I mean, and listen for whatever you want to say
about you know, the fans are fed up, and you
know they're they're tired, they're not buying merchandise. Look at
all these primetime games. The league doesn't think that, you know,
it's still a draw. I mean, they've got what only

(10:38):
four noon Sunday games. The rest of them are are
primetime TV afternoon or night or off nights. So, but
how how hard from for a first year head coach
is it going to be, especially towards the end of
the season. Starting with Thanksgiving you got three three Thursday
night games. You have what one one night game and

(10:58):
then a TBD at the end of the year the Giants,
which if that means anything, they'll they'll flex that one
the prime time. How hard is that going to be
to keep him keep these guys focus? There's that or
is that even about this?

Speaker 2 (11:08):
This is us and I'm saying, Cowboy this, this is
the Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
Yeah, this ain't nothing changed. Ain't nothing changed.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Now if we was looking at this thing and we say,
hey man, wow we got ten twelve o'clock games, not
something done changed.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
But this right here is the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Jesse, when you was here, I mean they didn't have
Prime and Amazon and all that.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
But we were still playing the most difficult schedule. This
is what the Cowboys do. Coach us Moses has been
through all of this right here. Man, Come on now.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
To keep along the lines of what you were talking about,
sharning about you know, the Cowboys being a draw and
having all these primetime games. Adam Schefter tweeted this out
earlier today. It's the five most in demand NFL games
as far as ticket prices following the schedule release. Number
five is the Jets at Buffalo and week eighteen. That

(12:11):
ticket right now goes for one thousand, one hundred and
sixty nine dollars. Say that again, one thousand, one hundred
six Which game? Jets at Buffalo Week eighteen?

Speaker 6 (12:20):
The Jets tickets are going for one thousand bucks.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
Holy Number four the Ravens at Buffalo Sunday Night Football
September seventh. That ticket is going for one thousand, one
hundred and eighty three dollars. Here's where you get interesting.
The number three Packers Sunday Night Football at Dallas. That
ticket one thousand, two hundred and ninety two dollars ninety

(12:44):
five dollars November twenty seventh, Thanksgiving.

Speaker 6 (12:48):
I can't wait to hear this one.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Kansas City Chiefs at the Cowboys one thousand, four hundred
and ninety one dollars and the number one and most
in demand ticket Top five Number one September fourth, Thursday
Night Football the Dallas Cowboys at the Philadelphia Eagles. That
ticket goes for one thousand, seven hundred and forty three dollars.

Speaker 8 (13:09):
They can smell fresh cash.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Straight cash on me.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
I tell people all the time, I'll speak to a
gentleman earlier, I said, we made draft a draft pick
wrong here and there.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
But I promise you ain't missing the promotion department.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
It's I called the Mayweather effect. It's the Floyd Mayweather effect.
Why Floyd Mayweather does you know record breaking box numbers
is because you're either a fan of Floyd Mayweather hat
and you want to see him do what he does
so well in the ring.

Speaker 6 (13:37):
You want to see him fail.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Or you want to see him loose, yes, and you
want to see him lose miserably. So every time there's
a formidable opponent, you're showing up to watch the fight
because you don't want to be out and miss the
moment where Floyd either dog walks somebody or he gets
knocked on the fat part of his butt. And that's
what keeps bringing people every single time, over and over
and over again. So you can understand why a Kansas

(14:00):
City on Thanksgiving, Washington on Christmas Philadelphia to open up
the season, because these are the games that people are
going to want to watch they're gonna either be cheering
for the Cowboys or they're gonna be cheering against the Cowboys.
Either way, the NFL is like cha ching, cha ching,
cha ching. We don't give a damn who you're root for.
Just keep showing up and watching the game, because that's

(14:22):
gonna line up all of our pockets at the end
of the day and make everybody a little bit more richer.
All thirty two teams become a little bit more richer
because these TV deals that is spread amongst the National
Football League, those owners. So when they get the raidings
back and they're going, see, we can do that up
now next year. We know, we know last year or
the last time it cost y'all one billion dollars. But

(14:44):
you see these ratings, Amazon, Netflix, Peacock. Now we're gonna
need two billion, We're gonna need three billion, We're gonna
need four billion, because we're gonna give you these games.
We're gonna put these games on your network. We're gonna
put the Cowboys chief for your network. We're gonna put
the Cowboys Eagles on your netw work. We're gonna we're
gonna make it worth your while. And the cow the
NFL is gonna wreak in the door from doing so.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
All right, let's take our first break when we come back.
So many more things to get into, one being the brutal,
brutal back into this schedule, Holy cal the last six
games of the year. Look out the Thanksgiving Day matchup, like,
we'll figure out what each one of us, Chris, you

(15:26):
and Josh jump into what your favorite game is and
why on the schedule?

Speaker 5 (15:31):
All that.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
Kyler Murray coming back, will the streak end?

Speaker 5 (15:35):
What is he?

Speaker 6 (15:35):
Eight to o? Going back to high school? Never lost,
never lost at AT and T Stadium. Patrick Mahomes first visit,
that'll be basically a home game for him East Texas. Boy,
is he gonna be super fired up for that? All
this and so much more on the show man, I
hate that we only have forty five minutes. Colly, all right,
we'll be right back after this first break. Hang with

(15:56):
the boys.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
Oooh, big golf, sir.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
All right.

Speaker 6 (18:55):
In the break, Nate spoke his mind like he does
a lot, and Jesse really agreed with Nate that this
is a very, very maybe the most important training camp
in recent memory. Nate and why.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Well, first of all, you want all your guys healthy.
You want all of your guys in camp. You got
a new coach. I don't think they're putting in a
new system, but they'll be running different variations of plays
and just putting a little tweaking.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
Here and there. But you need to know where your young.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Guys, that where your second year guys. That you need
to have a true assessment. No, we're not going to
just sit around this camp and say, well we're paying
him the most money, but this guy with his better
player you need to assess yourself, get the best players
in there, formulate your team.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
Do as many.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Ram Chargers practices, you know, inter squads, scrimmages, because you
need to know who your guys are and this will
help you better with Philadelphia.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
If you know who you are, you might want to be.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Make it Baltimore, then, yeah, make it Baltimore. You got
a running quarterback, you got a big running back, you
got a decent offensive line, like if you want, if
you want to get game ready.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
But don't you agree that you need this for your team? Yes?

Speaker 2 (20:16):
And then you added another thing that we need to
sign a special young man.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
Signed Michaeh, Like Michaeh should be signed because what you
don't want to have is the leader of your defense
not in training camp. And I approve of Michael Parson's
not showing up the training camp without a new deal.
I'm if he doesn't. I applauded. Don't you you They
had more than enough time to iron these details out.
Get in the room, figure it out. George Pickens isn't

(20:43):
now Dallas Cowboys. Guess what Jerry Jones, you know who
David Malouetta is. Figure it out. Get Michael Parsons signed
so that he is a full participant in training camp,
learning eber Blue's new system, getting on the field, so
all of those guys can jail so he can he
can be over there with with what comes to easy
with Donovan and having Osa and working with with with Uh,

(21:04):
with Peyton and Solomon and all those guys up front
that they have to have that rotation. What is it
gonna be with Dante Fowler and so on and so forth,
So that key piece you don't want to not have there.
You're already gonna be short staffed on the outside at
the cornerback position. You don't really know who's gonna be
able to go for you there. You know Deron Blam
will be there, but Michael, excuse me, Trayvon Diggs don't

(21:27):
know if he's gonna be ready to go start the season.
You know, Revel might be ready to go to the
start the season. He may not be, but you need
to have that key component. He is the one dude
on your defense and probably one of two dudes on
your team who can by themselves win a game, who

(21:49):
don't need no other assistance. I can go and wreck
somebody's stuff all by myself. You don't need him lagging
because he missed three weeks of training camp before the
season starts.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
Is there any doubt that they won't sign resigned Michael
or get that contract done?

Speaker 4 (22:10):
Not for me?

Speaker 5 (22:11):
If he if he didn't leave him on draft night,
why would he leave? Right? Yeah, if he don't leave him?

Speaker 6 (22:17):
I mean so, so anyone upstairs listening, we know you
don't listen to the show.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
I ain't too sure.

Speaker 6 (22:25):
Man, unless we say something that it gets sent to him.
Please get this man signed. If we know we're not
letting him walk. If it's an extra two million dollars
that were that were that were negotiating, or three or
four minute whatever it is, let's get him in training camp.

(22:47):
I think we can all agree that is very, very
very important this year, right.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
I just I just think every guy that you possibly
can have in this camp, training camp that you think
will make your team does not need to be in
a training room in a hot tub.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Veterans, they all you need the reps, you need the
reps you need to come together as a team. Uh,
you know, you know what. And I don't want to.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Make too much of the Philadelphia game or any game
because when Jesse played. You know, they have had great
teams that they If he's played on and he's went
into great people.

Speaker 6 (23:29):
You know you're.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
Gonna face great teams.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
So I mean, while we here, whoa look at Philadelphia.
These guys they're not They're gonna be hyped, but they ain't.
They ain't going off like we going off. We like, Wow,
you know, we got so many scenarios for this team
if they win, if they lose out.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
These kids ain't thinking that. They thinking they got a
real chance to win. Now we overheard kind.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
As they should, don't as they should write like on
that side of the building. It should be about you
and your guys. Yeah, and the hell what we think
or say, if you believe it, that's all that actually matters.
We're just media pundits. We just being there. I ain't
I'm nobody hitting on me. I ain't hit on nobody.
So I could sit here in the confines of this
beautiful studio with the lights bright lights, and the nice

(24:17):
microphones and the expensive headphones and pontificate and say all
those great things.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
I mean, we got a soul snatcher on our team, bro, real,
We're taking souls.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
Taking the love right about you.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
His name is Booker. He's coming to you, Bro.

Speaker 6 (24:35):
I hope he's a soul statue for the sake of
this team and number four, and for his confidence that
he has a great showing on September the fourth. Oh,
I hope he does not start his NFL career being heart. Bro.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
I'm gonna tell you what. I'm gonna tell you.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
What if Dak going to this game thinking like this
and what I'm finished saying. It may not make sense
to most people, but it makes sense to me. The
number three, the number three, one two three, get the ball,
ball gone.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
I'm dropping on the ground. One two three, ball gone.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
I'm dropping on the ground. It ain't gonna be no
other way because if you hope four.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Five, we need mobile duck. We need mobile duck.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
You know, I'm saying drop on the ground because I
don't until we see him really really run, we don't
know how how to You know, it's one like I say,
pe If it's one thing to go out there and
practice when you got your red jersey on, you jump around,
then you take off of you prety, and it's another
thing when at two hundred and ninety five pounds, ninety
eight coming down on you and you got all of

(25:48):
a sudden jerk.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
Yeah, it's another thing. One, two, three.

Speaker 6 (25:54):
So if there is a soft spot in the schedule,
there's three.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
It's the preseason.

Speaker 6 (26:03):
Outside of that. Outside of that good, Hey, that was good,
and that ain't really that soft if you look at
it just team wise. But right in the middle, you're
at Denver, which that's not bad. Denver's beat you. What's
seven eight in a row?

Speaker 4 (26:20):
Yeah, but Vic Vaniel's not there anymore. He's in Philadelphia.

Speaker 6 (26:22):
That's that's true. So Sean Payton is there, the Cardinals
at home, and at the Raiders. If you think any
of those are easy. Outside of that, the first six games,
four of those are on the road, and the last
seven games are just going to be brutal. So the
first six we've got at the Eagles New York at home,

(26:42):
the Giants at Chicago, which that's going to be made
for TV with Ebrafluse going back to Chicago.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
My boy, my boy, got my boy, got the job.

Speaker 6 (26:52):
The pat who's your boy?

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Ben Johnson?

Speaker 6 (26:55):
Oh, that's your boy.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
Oh we never discussed that year.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
Maybe I'll tell show.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
No, he was a backup quarterback at Carolina when I
was there.

Speaker 6 (27:03):
No, he's your age, is he? Wow? That's awesome.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
I'm a old man.

Speaker 6 (27:09):
You going to that game?

Speaker 5 (27:11):
Had to work?

Speaker 6 (27:11):
Oh, that's true.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
Road trip somebody. They don't pay me to go to
road trip. Darn gave me to be in the studio.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
Packers at home. We know how we feel about the Packers,
at the at the Jets, and at Carolina. So Carolina,
that Carolina. Then you've got at home against the Commanders.
Then you got that soft spot in the middle, and
then the last seven Philadelphia Eagles at home, Kansas City
Chiefs at home, at Detroit, Minnesota, Vikings at home, Chargers

(27:44):
at home, and then on the road to finish the
year at Washington and at New York. What do you
think is the toughest stretch, Chris. Chris made a good point.
He's like, hey, four of your four of your first
six are on the road. That's might be tougher than
the back end. The back end the quality of teams
is better. But you got four of those four those
seven at home. Where was your weak spot?

Speaker 5 (28:06):
Was it?

Speaker 6 (28:06):
Difver Arizona in Vegas? If there is one, Yeah, I see,
I would, I would I would move that up a
little bit. I would say the weeks while would be Jets,
Panthers and then commanders at home.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
That's what I would say.

Speaker 6 (28:20):
I don't in the background said work. I supposed to say.
That was supposed to be Spanish. That's Louise.

Speaker 4 (28:29):
Oh that wasn't Spanish English, that was.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
I didn't hear.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
How are you?

Speaker 5 (28:37):
That was.

Speaker 9 (28:39):
So?

Speaker 5 (28:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (28:40):
So what do you guys think front end harder at
the back end? The whole thing.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
I'm a back end guy.

Speaker 6 (28:49):
Talk about the schedule about to not to trade with parks.
What do you think is tougher to.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
Me the back end? And and here's why when you
get through this season, here's a couple of things. The
rhythm of this schedule is thrown off Thursday, Sunday Monday
Thursday rhythm.

Speaker 6 (29:13):
There is no rhythm.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
And Ny you'll understand this part when you.

Speaker 6 (29:18):
And when you say that, you're talking about like the
weekly the practice. Right, here's what I'm doing on Monday.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
That's what I'm talking about. Like, when you get into
the season, you develop. You always hear the term of
be a professional. You always hear, you know, people will say,
like learn how to be a professional. And that's not
just going out there doing the football part of it.
That's everything else. Learn how to watch film, when to
watch film, how to watch film, getting action, punctual massage,
getting off your feet, resting, hydration, all that type of

(29:45):
treatment stuff, and so you find your rhythm. Most guys
have their rhythms. I'll give you an example of mine.
I would always do excuse me, on Fridays. I used
to go see Miss Debbie from my massages, right, I
would do Miss Debbie on Friday, and then I would
get them another massage on Monday. And so I book
in my massages before the game and right after the game.

Speaker 6 (30:07):
Tuesday pedicures, Wednesday was Wednesday Pedaures.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
Wednesday was pedicures. And so you get your routine. You know,
you go see the chiropractor, you go do all that
kind of stuff, and for the most part, you kind
of keep that. And it has a little hiccup every
now and again. Oh we got a Thurday night, Thursday
night game this week.

Speaker 6 (30:24):
A couple of times a year.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
Yeah, but for the most part you have it. You're
a lot of things people don't realize. The resting comes
into play. If I know mentally that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, Friday,
I know what my week will look like. We'll travel
on Saturday, or we'll be at the hotel on Saturday,
we play on Sunday. But now, when this thing is

(30:46):
broken up so much, my days get thrown off, and mentally,
how I rest and how I recover gets thrown off.
And so that's that's the part that's gonna be really
really a telling sign for these type of games. You
play a lot of night games. Having night games means again,
I'm up, my drillin is going now, I don't go
to bed. If I'm taking a plane ride, I don't

(31:08):
go to bed.

Speaker 5 (31:09):
I'm up.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
Now the next day I come in, I'm trying to
recover that. And then we're back at it again because
I got a Sunday night game.

Speaker 6 (31:13):
Tuesday, I'm off. I can take a nap on Tuesday. Well,
that gets pushed out, and that pushes.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
You because now your Tuesday becomes something different because of
the Wedday, because the way the schedule is set. So
that's gonna be very, very key to the Cowboys this season,
being able to get into some sort of routine and
keep it. But this schedule just it just it's all
over the place and So for me, I look at
the back end of this because man, once you get

(31:37):
past that ten eleven twelve game system, you beat up
when you get to that last half.

Speaker 6 (31:46):
And that's where it gets crazy, and that's.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
Where it gets super duper crazy.

Speaker 6 (31:49):
You've got Thursday, then you've got Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday,
and then that and then it goes Monday, Sunday, Monday, Sunday, Thursday, Thursday, Sunday, Sunday, Thursday.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
Saturday or Sunday. And that's what I'm talking about. The
body is looking for that space to recover. And you're like,
I don't know which way we're coming to going. I
don't know if it's Thursday. You know, you're not practical together. Well,
it's actually Thursday on the it's Monday on the real calendar,
but it's Wednesday for us.

Speaker 6 (32:16):
That's when that intercom announcement on the plane ride home
that back half of the season is gonna be really important.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
Yeah, fellas tomorrow, Wait, Sunday, Tuesday.

Speaker 5 (32:27):
You know, yes, I.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
Could agree about this schedule on the back end if
I knew we were gonna win ten games.

Speaker 5 (32:42):
But if you.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
These first six or seven games, if you got an
under a five hundred schedule, it just really don't matter.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
That mean, because front end was hard too.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Yeah, I'm trying to just I'm not trying to be funny.
But if we were talking about two year ago Cowboys
twelve and five, twelve and five, then we're like, Okay,
they're gonna have to fight through this because because you're
basically talking about wins and losses.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Are we better than Green Bay? Are we better than.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
I think we're better than Carolina, And I think we're
better than New York Giants.

Speaker 8 (33:21):
But.

Speaker 5 (33:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
Until And I'm begging y'all, let's i's all me the
training camp. Let's all try to see the same thing,
because I don't want to spend all the training camps saying,
hey man, y'all need to watch this guy. You know,
let's if you come out, don't just come for the
money and run this year, come out.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
Well, everybody got a price. Everybody got a price. They
got a price.

Speaker 5 (33:52):
Maybe, but you see what I'm saying, because I want.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
To say I can't come to auction because I know the.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Better teams in the play off teams of last year
is in the back end of this schedule. But we've
been before this schedule came out, and before the draft,
we were talking and before George Pickings showed up, we
were talking about maybe three four or five wins.

Speaker 6 (34:18):
Okay, Yeah, And if you look at it, look at
the back half that what one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
that eight game stretch after the bye. I mean to
feel good about the second half of the season, you
gotta be at least the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
This from what it looks like two things one one
thing that we aren't talking about and we're not probably
won't supposed to be, not that we don't supposed to,
but we don't cover those other teams. But when you
look at the strength of schedule, Philly had a tough schedule,
Yes we do, so there's gonna be a war retriction
for them as well. Washington's tough schedule.

Speaker 10 (34:58):
The Giants, the whole East, the whole the whole NFC
East are in the top eight. I think strength of schedule,
having the toughest short of schedule, and you know, I
think partly because of it is we're playing that was
the NFC UH North.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
You're playing the Afty West and North, so you're getting
you're playing two other other harder divisions, uh, you know,
in the league. So they also have to have a
war of attrition.

Speaker 6 (35:25):
They're saying the same thing.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
They're saying the same thing, right, so they're gonna be
beat up as well. And this is this is that
part where and and and shout out to my guy,
uh you know, Clarence Hill. We we we have this
back and forth, back and forth because we talk about,
you know, having the right kind of guys and then
also having just the damn good players, because that's what helps.
When you hurt, you sore, things might not be looking

(35:50):
up for you. I can turn around and go, oh,
that's a two thousand yard running back back there here, Saquon.
You bring us home. You bring us home the glory.
You see what I'm saying. So it's like sometimes just
having sheer the better players can get you in and
out of games victorious in those tough spots. So those

(36:12):
other teams will be looking up at this and saying, damn,
we got a tough schedule as well. The second thing
is the Cowboys can't have any oops. That is the Cowboys.
When we when the Cowboys season has gone awry. At
the end of the year, we look back and we go,
we lost to damn Saints.

Speaker 6 (36:33):
And because of this, and they ain't.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
Win a game after that, but because of where their position.
And then the Cardinals, it's like the Cowboys. You can't
afford those oops. You those games that we're talking about.
The Panthers, and I know that. You know, everyone's an
NFL team and every team is talented.

Speaker 6 (36:51):
I get it.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
I understand it. Beat the Panthers that they beat the
You're a better team than the Panthers to me until
Aaron Glenn shows me otherwise. You're better football team than
the New York Jets. Beat the New York Jets. You're
a better team than the Arizona Cardinals. You're a better
team than the Las Vegas Raiders.

Speaker 5 (37:07):
Those are the games they have.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
You know who they are, the Commanders.

Speaker 5 (37:19):
Yeah, I'm with you, man with you.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
But you're supposed to win the Giants. You're better than
the New York Football Giants. You can't if you oops
against one of those teams. It's already tough enough. You're
gonna need every single one of those victories. You're gonna
need that victory at the end of the year for
possible playoff entering the playoffs, getting into the playoffs, and

(37:43):
then playoff seeding. So that's the biggest thing for me
with the Cowboys is you cannot have oops, right.

Speaker 5 (37:52):
Just so hope you.

Speaker 6 (37:56):
When we come we come back, now will we come back?
We'll finish up talking about the schedule on hanging with
the boys.

Back to Hanging with the Boys.

Speaker 6 (40:22):
Welcome back to the final segment of Hanging with the Boys,
brought to you each and every day by a Jigsaw,
the proud dating partner of the Dallas Cowboys. Another thing
about I know we keep going back to the back
end because Jesse loves it. But you're gonna get your
These are championship teams, yes, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Detroit, Minnesota Chargers, Commanders, Giants,

(40:46):
and but championship teams played their best football November and December.
You catch them early. There's you know, Kansas City to
me reminds me of an NBA team. Just get us
to the dance, will take.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
You, you know, like we'll turn it on.

Speaker 6 (41:02):
Be fine, don't worry about it, you know, but you're
gonna catch these when they're ramping up to play championship
for the playoffs, like that's every one of those is
is going to You're gonna get their best and I
don't know. And you know what, every year, there's teams
in here that we think are gonna be bad, that

(41:22):
are gonna be good, and there's teams in here that
are gonna be that we think are gonna be awesome
that are not that great. And every other team, Chris,
you brought it up. You got the you got the
Commander's schedule pulled up, Jesse, you got the Eagles schedule
pulled up. They're having the exact same conversations on their
shows this week that we're having here. Because but the
difference is easy.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
The only difference is, well, we're saying, wow, we got
to be ready for Philadelphia, Philip Father saying man, we
got that winning, saying hey no, oops.

Speaker 6 (41:55):
Yeah, they're talking about us like the guys Cowboys, Yeah whatever.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
You know what I'm saying, You're right, So we may
not be a threat to other teams like we think
they are to us. And I just and we know
that these guys are professionals. I've been on three and
thirteen teams. I've been on one in fifteen teams. I understand,
you know, I was still a professional, but I had

(42:20):
more punch when we were thirteen and you know, thirteen
and three or thirteen and two or whatever.

Speaker 6 (42:25):
So as a player, do you pay attention to this
and do you look at it? And is the text
rag going dang, look at the end of the schedule
and I give you mine.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
When we was that three and thirteen team.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
I was like, Lord Jesus, I'm serious. You know, I'm
talking about how I felt. I'm like, wow, we got
fellow that. Oh my god, who look at Lawrence Taale.
You know, I used to be thinking like, man, I
don't be up a lot of nights watching, you know,
But then.

Speaker 5 (42:51):
We got great.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Thinking about that extra work, like they say, be a professional, professional,
they'll force you to be a professional.

Speaker 5 (42:59):
I'll be out of the street, you know.

Speaker 4 (43:01):
Say professional you be unemployed, which is yours.

Speaker 5 (43:04):
So but when we got good didn't matter.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
Oh man, oh you said sixteen pack. Oh yes, sir,
the full pack. We was going at them. It's a
different mentality, man. And uh that's why I think coaches
today play an even bigger part, you know, especially the
way the guys the social media world and you got
to be a coach. You got to maneuver through all

(43:29):
of that and keep guys mind right. But you got
to be a super coach these days. I mean, you
still have to coach, you still have to be firm,
but you have to be agreed.

Speaker 6 (43:39):
There's so many more distractions, Yes, I think your team
and you and the organization than there was ten even
ten years ago, and it's gonna get worse, all right
before we get out of here. Chris, you and Josh
jumping on this too. For personal reasons, for theatrics for
the Cowboys, whatever, piatric.

Speaker 5 (44:00):
I gotta feel that these three a.

Speaker 6 (44:03):
No no pick one game. That's your favorite game on
the schedule. I'll go first, that's your favorite game for whatever,
Like it could be because your buddy is the coach
of the Bears and you're looking forward to that. For me,
the Chiefs game just because one because it's the two
most popular teams that we've Oh, Josh said, I'm gonna

(44:24):
come in here and sit down. I was talking about
just grabbing mic and.

Speaker 5 (44:29):
Josh really wants to join us.

Speaker 4 (44:31):
I feel that Bob is a mac.

Speaker 11 (44:35):
The order that we bring its just it's everybody. It's
a gravitational pool that you just can't help. You can't
help I can't help myself. It's all good.

Speaker 4 (44:41):
But you're welcome here.

Speaker 11 (44:42):
Either I'm talking or I'm hanging out. It's either one.

Speaker 4 (44:47):
Welcome here.

Speaker 11 (44:48):
You're welcome to be fair. I'm always hanging.

Speaker 6 (44:50):
This is a safe space.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
With the boys.

Speaker 6 (44:53):
Good for you. Mine's the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (44:56):
He hold on, but we I did tell you the dog,
yeah name.

Speaker 6 (45:00):
It's fine.

Speaker 11 (45:02):
It's just a bit. We're having fun. Man, That's who
I don't forget, no matter what, I'd never forget. I
got his number number.

Speaker 6 (45:12):
He didn't think he had it.

Speaker 11 (45:14):
But when it comes to pod picks, I don't forget you.

Speaker 5 (45:16):
Man.

Speaker 6 (45:17):
I know I got you got a beef.

Speaker 5 (45:19):
If we got a beef, this thing ain't getting bigger.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
Man a big beefs s beefs hanging with the beef,
beef show.

Speaker 4 (45:31):
Beefing with the boys with the ball like it.

Speaker 11 (45:34):
Come on, man, come on, show beefing with coming soon
Dallas sponsored by Hope.

Speaker 6 (45:39):
He'll there you go. I'm gonna go with the Kansas
City Chiefs just because it's two of the biggest brands
in football. It's the new the self proclaimed America's team.
Patrick Mahomes first trip to a T and T stadium
in the pros? Did he play there? Is it Texas
Tech at.

Speaker 4 (45:56):
AT and T?

Speaker 5 (45:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (45:58):
Oh yeah, he's familiar with a T and T.

Speaker 6 (46:00):
Sure he hasn't played there as a pro though, has he?
I don't think the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (46:03):
Yeah, remember they played the Tyreek Hill screenplass well that
that was yeah, that was here.

Speaker 11 (46:08):
He was a backup for Alex Smith when they played here.

Speaker 6 (46:10):
Has he played though?

Speaker 5 (46:12):
Yes? He is?

Speaker 6 (46:13):
Okay, all right, I didn't know he played.

Speaker 4 (46:14):
He threw that Tyreek Hill screenplay right, yeah.

Speaker 6 (46:16):
In the half?

Speaker 5 (46:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (46:17):
Thanksgiving? I mean there's to me, there's no bigger game
on the schedule, even the NFL schedule. Thanksgiving Day at
AT and T Stadium against Kansas City Chiefs. That's just
for the theater itself. That's gonna be my game.

Speaker 11 (46:33):
You said favorite game?

Speaker 6 (46:34):
Yeah, just for any reason? Like, what do you which
game is your favorite game on the schedule.

Speaker 11 (46:38):
I'm looking at week one, two, four. I gotta you
got a familiar foe coming into town.

Speaker 6 (46:45):
Green Bay look a team.

Speaker 11 (46:46):
Yeah, yeah, it's it's it's time to get our get back, because.

Speaker 6 (46:50):
Can we get them? Have we ever gotten them back
since des dropped that ball, have we ever gotten them back?

Speaker 11 (46:56):
Quick questions? Which team is one of the most playoff
games in a AT and T stadium?

Speaker 6 (47:01):
That team Green Bay Packers. Yep, including your Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 11 (47:05):
The Green Bay Packers have won the most games in
AT and T Stadium. That bothers me. I don't like
those colors together. I don't like that team. I don't
like their face.

Speaker 5 (47:14):
Just can't get rid of them Packers.

Speaker 11 (47:16):
More like Jordan hate because I don't like those fools
over there. So we go with the Green Bay Packers.
We need to get her get.

Speaker 6 (47:22):
Back, all right, Chris? What you got? I think our
most important game is probably.

Speaker 11 (47:27):
Going to be No, no, no, no, that wasn't the
christ your favorite?

Speaker 6 (47:29):
Your favorite? Like it could be because I like the
food in Detroit they have good barbecue. Surprisingly in the
press spot like what's your what's your favorite game on
the schedule? Favorite game on the schedules? When are you
looking forward to the most for whatever reason?

Speaker 11 (47:42):
Don't say Christmas Day? Your famili's listen. Not your family's listening.

Speaker 6 (47:46):
I'm not gonna say that for sure.

Speaker 11 (47:48):
Don't let her boy logan down. Come on now, probably.

Speaker 6 (47:49):
Gonna get divorced with that one. I would say, I'm
gonna go to the Eagles game on November twenty third.
Why why, Yes, Well it's it's it's a home game,
which usually were on the road. We'll be in bed
by nine o'clock, exactly, bed by nine o'clock, going into
a short week, all right, Nate.

Speaker 5 (48:10):
That Philadelphia EGA is at Philadelphia.

Speaker 6 (48:11):
Man, that first game game one had.

Speaker 5 (48:13):
To play one of them. Bro that that is a
that's a huge game.

Speaker 6 (48:17):
Is that the first game of the season.

Speaker 4 (48:19):
Yes, yeah, that's the whole Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (48:21):
I was gonna go with the Baltimore Ravens because I
like King Henry, but that's preseason.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
Yeah, be on the sideline chilling.

Speaker 5 (48:30):
Yeah. So Philadelphia egas that that I remember. We lost
that game.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
It was a Monday night game and we played against it. Well,
we were we thought we were ready, but the Eagles WOA.

Speaker 4 (48:40):
Yes, man, it's a lot of good games. Yes, it
is a little storylines. This is going to be a
fun season one way or another.

Speaker 11 (48:48):
If you're a fan of football, you would like to
gotch that's a great point.

Speaker 4 (48:51):
That's an absolute great point. But I gotta agree with
my migo. Right here, Green Bay, Green Bay, coming back
to the scene of the crime where they annihilated you.
Embarrassed you Why you got to be trying to go
all deep like.

Speaker 11 (49:07):
That, because it's true they broke the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (49:10):
Hey man, you know what just seate is cursed.

Speaker 6 (49:13):
Anybody don't say any players names specific name.

Speaker 4 (49:19):
Right here, you're sitting that seat. You gotta agree with me.
That Packers I think biasedly. You know, week three against Chicago,
I'm looking forward to that. I think Ben Johnson is
going to do a great great things in Chicago.

Speaker 5 (49:38):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (49:38):
But that Packers game, man, that got to mean a
little bit. That mean a little something.

Speaker 11 (49:41):
It's also a litmus test because the beginning of the
season can go any anyway. Your record can be anything.
But if you come home and you beat the one
team that has just got had your number every single
time they come here.

Speaker 5 (49:54):
Come on, man, I'm glad.

Speaker 6 (49:59):
That's been before we get out of here. What do
you How many weeks do you because usually week one
is just all hell breaks loose, right like last year
Week one for us, we were going to the super Bowl,
right and then and then reality sets in and then
you know, people start figuring.

Speaker 5 (50:15):
Two teams that happened to the Saints, Sinny Cowboys.

Speaker 6 (50:17):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 4 (50:19):
How many weeks I'm crashing back there?

Speaker 6 (50:20):
How many weeks do you think you?

Speaker 5 (50:23):
You?

Speaker 6 (50:24):
As Dinny Green said, you are what you are?

Speaker 5 (50:26):
Like ya?

Speaker 4 (50:26):
Who think you are?

Speaker 6 (50:27):
Who you think you are?

Speaker 5 (50:28):
Who?

Speaker 6 (50:28):
How many is it? Week four?

Speaker 5 (50:30):
Is it?

Speaker 6 (50:30):
Week two?

Speaker 5 (50:30):
Is it?

Speaker 6 (50:31):
Week three? When do you start?

Speaker 5 (50:33):
Seven? For me? Ron? Thanksgiving? Week seven? Somewhere? Is that round? Thanksgiving? U? No?

Speaker 11 (50:38):
Thirteen? Thinks?

Speaker 5 (50:39):
Okay, So that's why I'm asking.

Speaker 6 (50:43):
But well you may not, you may not.

Speaker 4 (50:46):
I'm like, damn.

Speaker 5 (50:48):
Seven, week seven for me? Week seven, I'll tell you
who they are? You week seven?

Speaker 6 (50:55):
Week seven?

Speaker 2 (50:55):
Because this because I'm not going to go away from
what we talked about to a three months ago. We
didn't feel that great about this team. And until I
know and see practices and sea games, I want to
I'm gonna give myself some space.

Speaker 5 (51:10):
I like who they drafted. I like the idea that.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
Coach is doing things the way he is doing them.
But until I see you put on some paths and
get at some people. Week seven for me, right, what
about you?

Speaker 5 (51:22):
Three weeks?

Speaker 6 (51:23):
Three weeks?

Speaker 4 (51:24):
So three weeks time we get to the Packers game.

Speaker 6 (51:27):
When you play the Bears, you're like, Okay, this is
what we are.

Speaker 4 (51:30):
After the Bears. After the Bears, I'm gona give you
three games. You got a formidable opponent, somebody you should handle,
somebody you should handle, and a wild card the Bears
of the wild card, you know what the New York
Giants are going to be. And the Philadelphia Eagles. You're
gonna have to bring your a game after I see

(51:51):
you in those three games, because they all are going
to bring something different. I'm gonna know who you are,
at least a large percentage of who you are.

Speaker 5 (52:03):
Now.

Speaker 4 (52:03):
You can make some adjustments, and other teams may fall off,
but I'm gonna know whether or not it's even flu
defense gonna really stand up and do something. Is Brian
Schottenheimer really gonna call the game? You gonna know, you
gonna know. By the time we get the Green Bay,
I'm gonna have a good feel about what this team
is gonna be.

Speaker 5 (52:22):
Isn't this team so new? Yes, and and and.

Speaker 2 (52:26):
Nobody's gonna play in the preseason, nobody's gonna play in
the precion. So I agree one hund But the way
this thing is going around here and over there.

Speaker 5 (52:36):
No one plays in the preseason. You don't know who
you are.

Speaker 4 (52:40):
And that's why, that's why I have a problem with
who the hell are you. You ain't done nothing.

Speaker 6 (52:46):
I agree on on.

Speaker 4 (52:47):
September fourth, they're dropping Philadelphia's championship banner, not yours.

Speaker 5 (52:54):
You don't.

Speaker 4 (52:55):
Nobody has done enough on this football team to to
to to to truly be able to say, oh, give
me my ball cap board. No, Patrick wall All played
the preseason games like you. And I'm not saying it
has to be gift. I'm saying that, don't do that way.
We're talking about changing culture, if we're talking about doing

(53:20):
things different than what we've done in the past. Hey, fellas,
this is a new day. You ain't earned jack Ish.
Last time I checked, it's been almost thirty years since
you've been to the NFC East Championship game, the NFC
Championships to.

Speaker 5 (53:37):
Got to go.

Speaker 6 (53:37):
He never chose me. That got Gosh, how many games
you got a game after this?

Speaker 11 (53:40):
It would be Thanksgiving? It would be Thanksgiving. That one
of the first conversations that I had here my first year,
I was Brian Idos bushytail. I was feeling good about
the Cowboys. There was a close friend of mine called
Large Nathaniel. He told me that you gotta wait until
Thanksgiving to know.

Speaker 5 (53:54):
Whether winning teams though that should have preference.

Speaker 6 (54:00):
Hey gosh, thanks for joining us for the end of
the show.

Speaker 5 (54:03):
Chris for keeping us.

Speaker 6 (54:05):
Josh, thanks for keeping him coming in the back. Nobody
else is back there anymore. We got to come up
with a new saying to get out of the show.
Thank you guys. We'll be back next week, saving time,
same place, Hang with the boys.

Speaker 1 (54:15):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
