the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Cowboys blowing out of.
Speaker 4 (00:14):
The backfield, exploding down the sidelines. He's hanging with the boys.
Speaker 5 (00:20):
Now, your hosts.
Speaker 6 (00:22):
Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, Jesse Holly, and Shannon Gross Hub day.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
You look alive at Tostitos Championship Plaza outside Ford Center
at the Star in Frisco, Texas, where it is eighty
three degrees. I don't know anything else. That's it. Eighty
three degrees supposed to rain. Oh, here we go. Wait
a minute, this is seventy nine. Let's go with this.
(00:53):
Seventy nine degrees, the highs eighty one, the low sixty nine.
Speaker 5 (01:00):
This is Hurts favorite day. This is Kurt one pump
Danglus because two pumps will get you a fly. He
is three times Super Bowl champion. They're new and that
is Shannon Girls in the back of Chris being keeping
us live and local. I am salt and pepper poppy.
Together we make hanging with the Boys the sports talk
equivalent to brew people us when we speak.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Wingstop is here and we finally got to the well.
First off Wednesday, mentals and dentals.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
How are we doing good?
Speaker 5 (01:34):
Chris started the show. I was in the back talking
to Josh. We're talking scenarios and Christmas, like a start
the show?
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Yeah, he goes, he back here talking, y'all want to
just start. We're like, yeah, start. They're talking about comic books.
That's true.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
I'm standing back then.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I hear you want to start?
Speaker 4 (01:49):
He said, yeah, they're talking about comrade. You know, we
could have a whole show. Maybe we do that this week,
maybe we do it next week, but we could have
a whole show about what we were talking about in
the back. You realize that, Oh yeah, but that would
actually be a good show.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Probably would be a good show.
Speaker 7 (02:02):
We'll hold that the best comic book hero, the best
two comic book heroes ever ever, Yeah, until they brought
him on TV is the Hulk in four. I'll put
them against any to any.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Two get.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Argument for me. I don't know who.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
I don't the Hulk and Thor.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
I will say the movies that the Hulk can throw
in together, the recent ones, yeah, are pretty funny.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Yeah, and that ain't what helped about hu Hulk.
Speaker 8 (02:33):
Little things you didn't like? You like that old seventies.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah, yeah, man, David Banner, Yeah, I hate it. When
he got to TV.
Speaker 7 (02:42):
I liked the comic book itself, Yes, sir, the comic
book itself.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Who's your favorite comic book hero? Kirk?
Speaker 8 (02:50):
How was spider Man growing up?
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Spider Man guy?
Speaker 1 (02:53):
He got wimpy when he got comic books?
Speaker 5 (02:55):
Comic books show?
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Who's your who's your real life hero?
Speaker 5 (02:59):
My grandmother? Oh there you go.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
Yeah, I was just letting everybody know.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Now you get home, you know, Mom ain't gonna she
knows de Yeah. Uh.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
Mom will be bringing cinnamon rolls a day after Thanksgiving,
so she's super excited. Let's go here now Monday, we'll
do it Monday.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yeah that worked.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
Thanksgiving will not be here.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
Okay, I did not know that. So no show Thursday
or Friday next week.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Right, that's correct, So we won't have an extra day.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
No, you can watch while you went on Friday following week.
We'll have an extra day the.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Day at least, I'm rightfull.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Well. This is get Black Friday off?
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yeah yo, I love that. So you think I'm gonna
take the paint.
Speaker 7 (03:48):
Off the paint to get Black Friday off?
Speaker 1 (03:55):
This is natural. I'll never get black Fried Jesse, I
know exactly what you Yeah, Chris, all right.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Every week closer to getting canceled, learn Nate learns more
and more about.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Jesus Man.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Because we always said it ain't gonna be the It's
not gonna be the big stuff that gets us.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
It's something the little stuff.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Yeah, Nate, this is the week you've been waiting for
that Eagles defensive line. Yes, and you've been watching film.
Wait before we get into that, did you guys watch
any more film on on Monday Night's game? Or have
y'all moved on?
Speaker 1 (04:42):
I did?
Speaker 4 (04:42):
You did watch a little bit more an I did
the recap after you did a little bit more deep dive.
Did anything else jump out at you that we didn't
get to on the show Anything Special? Or now Today's
Realist Wednesday? So we don't have to sugarcoat. Yeah, you
can be you can be the void.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
No, no, no, it was good.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Okay, no, it was good.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
The fluidity of revel looked good. You know, for him
to be just a tall receiver, he can he could huh,
I'm sorry, dB, excuse me him being a taller dB.
He moves like he has a fluid movement, and you know,
just turning and getting out of the brakes. He he,
(05:26):
I'm not gonna lie. I was a little bit. I
was impressed. I was impressed with the with the the
way he flipped his hips, you know, getting his feet
in the ground, breaking up on routes and stuff like that.
That that was for a guy who's coming off major
knee surgery, having a knee brace on. He looked very fluid.
And that doesn't necessarily always happen with the taller cornerbacks.
(05:47):
They usually come times, uh stiff in the hips. They
don't they don't really open up and turn and run
and could do like that. So I'm I'm I'm looking
to now see him up against and I mean him
being rebel ravel, rebel, rebel, revel, revel revel.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
I'm looking now to see him up against a better
caliber receiver. You'll get that in a J.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Brown.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
I don't know if Brown is gonna throw They're gonna
throw it to a J. Brown or not, but Davante
Adams and a J. Brown, I'm looking to see how
Vonte Smith what I say, not DeVante Adam, Vonte Smith. Yes,
I'm screwing names up left and right. Okay, it's Nate
rubbing off on.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Me where you bang around with crib Wow.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Cowboys waved Dumont Clark uh and activated the defensive tackle Winfree.
Seem interesting move because you're kind of limited linebacker and
seems like you're a little bit deeper detackled. Did that
surprised you guys that they made that move?
Speaker 5 (06:49):
He wasn't playing for whatever reason.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
He he he was like they had They liked him
a lot.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
There for two years dan Quinn is that where it
kind of went, and Quinn liked him a lot, and
then when yeah, he might be and then when they
when dan Quinn went to Washington and Uh and Rod
Mary Delli came in, there was there was a shifting
philosophy in what they wanted from him, and it seemed.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Like, man, what is wrong with you today? You gotta quit,
You gotta quit before you come on the.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Show, some sugar.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
I didn't zim, excuse me. There was a there was
a shifting philosophy and he got in the dog house
there and he just never quite he never quite got
out of the dog house. And he was excited. I
remember hearing him talk when when they when they brought
in hebra flu because he thought I get a fresh start,
(07:46):
there's a new defensive coordinator, there's no preconceived notions about me, and.
Speaker 8 (07:50):
And you got off had a pretty good can.
Speaker 5 (07:52):
Yeah, and then it just just I don't know, maybe
a fresh start might be good Fork.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
And then this is an interesting question posed by Kurt Daniels.
This kind of plays into the conversation Jesse and I
were having in the back with Josh some talk of
Pickings being the number one receiver on this team with performance. Yeah,
who's asking.
Speaker 8 (08:16):
Kurt just fans, you know, right into the mill bag
and things like that.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
Yeah, what's your thoughts on how that's played? You still
think ceed's the man?
Speaker 5 (08:24):
And I'm not. I've been now getting messy, I've been.
I've been whatever they want. Whatever they want, George Pickens,
ball out. Just go ahead and continue to excel, be dominant,
do everything.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
And it doesn't matter if you've got two guys like that,
who the number one is, Like no, because you can't
take them both out of the game, like you can
isolate one and go we're taking this guy out, but
they both perform like a number one.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
Here's where I get a tad bit flustered in a
little bit. You know, my feather's get a little bit ruffled,
is boy, do we throw something to the side quick,
real fast. Holy moly, guacam. There are people. There are
people who, like Kurt was talking about, who are hitting
(09:15):
me up on Twitter and throughout when the games are
being played and they're like, ceedee, Lamb's expendable, get rid
of him.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Hold on, man, I'm telling you, I'm that serious.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
I'm dead serious. People have like almost have turned on
CD almost been like you know, like treating him almost.
Tobrad ask like just show him to the side, and
I'm just like, where are y'all? Where have you guys
been for the last four years? Like it's it's it's
(09:48):
mind blowing. But but that's you.
Speaker 8 (09:51):
Drawing the attention? Is that, huh, Lamb? Like like Parsons
did with OSAs Lamb, just drawing the attention.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
The numbers will tell you every single time forty some
of the double teams that happened in that game or
happening in the CD lamp and and and rightfully so,
But George is doing what you're supposed to do. When
when and even when CD was out, he still was,
you know, was playing well. But I'm I'm done getting
into the whole. You know all that, and people and
fans can have fan however you want a fan.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
But I think that's the biggest difference watching the games, right,
is when CD gets double teamed. You got a guy
that's talent is so much better than your number three
and number four, number two that it just it just
jumps out right like it's Tobert's in there. Okay, do
what you gotta do. You're gonna get more balls. You
drop a couple here, you almost toe drag here, like
(10:43):
if you get it near that dude.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
He's Georgie's catching it. He is he is, he is exceptional.
He's really good.
Speaker 8 (10:49):
I guess that was my only question. Like it's CD
the better overall receiver, but maybe Piggins is more explosive.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Yeah like that.
Speaker 8 (10:58):
Yeah, mhmm, good.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
Talk, all right? Moving on DAK six and one in
seven home games. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
You know what, what.
Speaker 7 (11:17):
What the fans in the in the talking heads are
proven to me is.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
You don't know football. Ny.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
I'm gonna stop you. I'm gonna stop you, and I'm
going to I'm gonna I'm going to tell you to
do with you let fans fan, Let them fan. That's
what you told us. You said, let fans fan anyway
that they want a fan.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
I agree.
Speaker 7 (11:50):
I'm gonna let fans do what they want to do.
But I'm talking a lot of these fans. Listen to
a lot of you know what, I I just I
wish everybody had a podcast so everybody can be stupid all.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
They everybody got a podcast. They do.
Speaker 7 (12:09):
It's people that say they know football, that they that
they watch football. And I knew this picking sting and
this because every time the Cowboys get a shiny new toy,
we go overboard.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Guess what, y'all. I tried to tell y'all.
Speaker 7 (12:30):
I think Jesse even told y'all, if our offense is
Ryan good, we could have kept the dude that's in Carolina.
Remember that, Like, hey, ain't nothing wrong with it. Ain't
nothing wrong with Bucky and seat belt. We just need
to block better for him. Okay, now, Bucky and seat belt.
I only went to Carolina, but helping them win and
(12:50):
done took the.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Dude who gave them money.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
They gave them money to you, brother, Ain't nothing wrong
with the center that left end and now in Washington
during the day, Jim Dan the job. It's the shiny
new toy that we don't understand how it fits. We
needed someone to come in and compliment CD. Now people
(13:14):
are picking, we gonna double CD. We're gonna put our
second and third, which is a mistake on the pickings.
Now we go overboard. Don't go overboard. People, you forgot
about Denver. Denver came in and said, I we ain't gonna.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Let CD lamb our pickings get off the rock. What happened?
Speaker 7 (13:37):
Think people think what I'm trying to say is and
Able one show that matters.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
It's hanging with the boys.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Long way around to get there.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Just me, mad Man.
Speaker 7 (13:51):
Don't put these guys against each other. They're both great players.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Don't do That's what.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
And there's nobody more popular on the Dallas Cowboy and
the guy that is behind, the guy that's not doing
what you think he should be doing. It's always been that,
the backup quarterback, the backup wide receiver, the backup running back.
You know, the beginning of the year, Jaden Blue, let's
put him.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
In there, and you know, but he came even get
a uniform.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Yeah, it's like the way it's always been around here.
You know that like practice and when we and when
we have something around here that that nothing is wrong.
Everything's going great. Your tight ends tied for the league
lead and touchdown catches, you got two number one receivers,
your quarterback is bawling out, your offensive line is playing good.
(14:40):
We gonna find something wrong. Oh you know what was
really number one? Like, just let it be what it is,
Just let it go.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Let me tell you what's wrong. Philadelphia coming, All right.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
Let's get look into that. Let's take our first break
when we come back. Philadelphia's coming and we'll go go
to break.

Back to Hanging with the Bulls.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
Welcome back to the second segment of Hanging with the Boys,
brought to you each and every show by a blockchain
dot com. Drude, thank you blockchain dot com. All right,
a little bit more on the Cowboys offense before we
jump over to what Nate's been waiting about seven weeks
for to talk about. This defensive line.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Smit Gate Spitgate.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Dak is six and one in seven home games versus Philly,
averaging two hundred and eighty three point one yards and
two touchdowns. Are there some players that just have another
team's number? Why is he in Philly's good right? Why
does he have such good success against Philly and they've
(17:53):
always had a pretty solid defense even before they had
these two guys. Are there some guys at quarterback specific
that just the system they can decipher what they're doing
a lot easier than other teams.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
First thing that came to my mind was Aaron Rodgers
to the Bears, right, I own you. It's just some
teams are just some players just just got your number,
and no matter what happens, we're gonna we're gonna come,
We're gonna come out of this thing victorious. And and
and it seems that Dak has Philly's number. He just plays.
(18:28):
I don't I don't know how to explain it. There's
like every if you run track, there's certain tracks that
you go to you just say, this is my track.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
How much of that's in your head? A lot of
it is confidence.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
It's just a lot of it. If you're you know,
when people go to MSG right, when Jordan and Kobe
and all those that they go to the Madison Square guard,
it's like this, now, this is the this is the arena.
You know. Some some you just have it that you
just have it against certain teams, against certain arenas, against
certain places where you are just supremely confident. The Aura
(19:02):
is right. You you you you feel that level of
confidence like no like none other. And for that it's
it's the Eagles. Maybe it's just absolute distain for them.
You know, you can you can hate somebody or organization
bad enough where you just like put a little extra word,
no matter what, no matter what, I'm beating these jokers
(19:24):
and he's I mean, he's, like you said, six and
one not a bad record.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Did you guys have any any team that when you
were playing it was just like you got up a
little bit more for you had their number.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Yeah, you had the Cognals, Yeah, Buffalo, Yeah, we had
we had the Cognalis on them.
Speaker 7 (19:41):
You know, no matter what they did, what they record
was they would fight, fight, fight. But we knew if
we just stayed disciplined, Carlins was gonna give it up
and that and that's that was our team. This is
when they was coming out of Saint Louis, going to
getting to Phoenix.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
And all of that. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (19:58):
So yeah, hmm, bo. Remember when I first came in
the league, we.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Was everybody's.
Speaker 7 (20:06):
Yeah, we was drugstuck cowboys. This drug beause of cowboys too.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
Right now, all right, Nate, the moment you've been waiting for.
How different is this game gonna be with ninety eight
in the game?
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Can I just say that before you go no, take
your time.
Speaker 5 (20:23):
I just want to say this one thing, yes, before
Nick gets into this, because your question leads me right
to what I want to say.
Speaker 10 (20:29):
Kyle, Okay, you have to be you can't use the
same tongue to say how much Quinn Williams on this
defensive line changes the outlook of this entire defense and
then use the other side of your mouth to go,
(20:51):
their A plus defensive lineman won't make a difference.
Speaker 5 (20:54):
To their overall defense when you play them. That's all
I want to say. I just sold Nate, you go
ahead and have that because there are some people like, oh,
it won't matter, It won't matter. I'm just causing people
to say, if that's your If that's.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
Your approach, you could take somebody that has never watched
football before and show them a game before Monday night,
in a game after Monday night, and go, what's the difference.
It's like those sesame Street which one of these things
is not like the other, Like you know what looks different? Well,
those those three to five guys in the front are
(21:26):
actually getting to the guy that's taking the.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
Ball from So I just I just you you you
have at it. But I just I just when people say, oh,
it doesn't matter what he ate it, okay, you can't.
Just just know that you saw what an a plus
player on your on your defensive line has done to
your defense. Imagine what they needed their they do.
Speaker 7 (21:49):
To be once again hanging with the boys, have given
you a plus information. It's I'm a number ninety seven
Morrow or Joe help me with that Morrow, Joe Mo
what number ninety seven defensive man? They run a three
(22:10):
four defense guy over the in over the tackles, both tackles,
and they have a noseguard. His name is Jordan Davis.
He's over the center, number ninety and the other guy
that's over the other tackle is.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Number ninety eight. Jalen Carter.
Speaker 7 (22:29):
Okay, listen to me. These guys can line up either
over the center, either both tackles. They'll go to a
four man look. These guys will move around. They've added
an outside linebacker, which is really a defensive lineman in
Jalen Phillips from Miami.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Listen to me, people, what.
Speaker 7 (22:55):
I love about these guys is They can take on
double teams. The three guys that I named ninety ninety
seven can either play the double team and defeat it.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
They can single block and defeat it.
Speaker 7 (23:13):
They can jump gaps and get back into their gaps.
You can have them blocked and moving off the ball.
They will take their hands and reset them underneath your
chest and press you.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
And still make a play.
Speaker 7 (23:30):
This team does not have great stats. They only have
twenty one sacks. Marrow or Jamorrow is the guy leading
with four sacks. The next guy is a linebacker Zach
Bond with three sacks.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
This team does not beat you with stats.
Speaker 7 (23:53):
They physically dominate you as the game go on. They
seem like they get better and better and better. Last
two games that have not given up much in running.
I think around about one hundred and fourteen is the
most they they have given up, but the scores indicate.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
How they like to play the big The.
Speaker 7 (24:14):
Most major stat that stands out to me is they
only giving up twenty point one points a game no
matter who they play. No matter who they play, their
defense always seem to come up and outshine their offense.
They offense have the names the aj Browns, the other
(24:35):
Sweet wide receiver on the other side that can run
great routes. They got a nice tight end, they got
the running back. But what they don't have is a
number ninety eight, a number ninety and a number ninety seven.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
That's what they do.
Speaker 7 (24:49):
These guys would change the game, just like mister Williams
has helped us tremendously by his very presence.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Number ninety eight would get over your tackle.
Speaker 7 (25:02):
He would get over your center, He would get over
both guards, he would get over the other tackle. He
is that guy like Overshan was kept talking to. They
don't have to do that. They go over there and say, yeah,
you the man. I'm telling that linebackers n Kobe Dean,
(25:22):
Zack Bond, if they decide to shoot the gap, it's
never seen to be wrong. If they decide to come downhill,
they coming downhill, and if they decide to shoot a gap,
it seems like it's never wrong because they'll make that
running back go right back into one of these three
guys I just talked.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Are they the best defensive front of the league?
Speaker 7 (25:41):
Bro, I give you all our defense and two more
draft picks first round for this defense.
Speaker 8 (25:48):
Come on, brother, who's the best out of those three.
Speaker 7 (25:52):
Ninety eight, ninety eight to get ninety seven paid next year.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
If ninety seven keep doing what he doing, he gonna.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Even get paid getting a Christmas cards, just like the.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Dude who just left.
Speaker 7 (26:04):
Remember the guy that had last year number ninety three
or ninety seven, he just went.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Tom got paid. Coach Jalen, Come on, man, Jalen's stats
are ugly. He don't have I don't think you have
but one sack. The number ninety eight is that guy.
Speaker 7 (26:22):
If he he will make everybody better.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Everybody.
Speaker 7 (26:27):
Only thing they was missing in the first five or
six games, The only thing he was missing was a
pass rush. And they went and got a dude that
was sitting up on TV National TV talking to Pots
and Brandon Graham. And then they went and got a
DISGRUNTLD guy who was wanting to get out of Miami
and Jalen Phillis and now they got a pass rush. Bro,
(26:49):
I've been for how many years you have y'all heard
me talk about if we ever get a BIX And
let me tell you the big difference, Jesse. Let me
tell you why this defense is doing what he's doing.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
Jalen Davis.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Jordan Davis has finally growed up. He is playing.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
I mean he was already three hundred.
Speaker 7 (27:08):
Now he was grown man. He always he always been yeasty,
but got swoll talking about I heard that.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
I love you so.
Speaker 7 (27:25):
But if you watch him now, he's a lot more active.
He's a lot more active. Is that the maturity, Yes, maturity.
He not only plays over the nose, he'll get over
the guard sometime. One time I saw him against UH Detroit.
I think even as far as the tackle. So these
guys know where to be. They have played together now
(27:50):
for what three years? These these two guys ninety and
ninety eight. You know we see a lot more of
amorrow number ninety seven, these guys, I don't know how
good the secondary is because of what's up front. They
don't have a lot of sacks, but pressure, pressure making
(28:10):
guy making the quarterback get off the spot. They are tremendous.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Man. I mean, like I tell you, I talked to
young man. I hate Philadelphia. Man.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
You know what I'm gonna say, you like, I just
tell them dudes, you say, man, I hate the cowboy
haters because we good.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Baby hate us because we good.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
All right, let's take our last break when we come
back I thought we had to Jesse go let him
go wear Joe let him supposed to say? What do
you got to say?
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (28:37):
He can do that in the next break, because I
have a question for you and Jesse. Okay about number
ninety eight.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
We got new ear pads.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
We did you like them? Love them all right? Be
right back on hanging with the boy. Let's do them

Speaker 4 (30:56):
With the Bullards. Welcome back to the final segment of
(31:21):
Hanging with the Boys, brought to you by seven eleven.
We will talk a little bit later about just like
seven eleven, who is gonna be open twenty four to seven?
How about that? But right now I have a question
to the guys in the room that actually played professional football.
Speaker 8 (31:40):
Let me tell you.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
So, Jalen Carter, he's gonna have something to prove. He's
gonna be pissed off because he didn't get to play
the last time, right, So he's gonna be a handful.
And I thought about this a little bit, and I
was like, you know what, on the flip side of that,
he spit on the leader of this team, so they too,
(32:06):
in my mind, should be pissed off and ready to
play too. And and kind of, you know, if the
Eagles and the Cowboys didn't have a rivalry, you know,
the strongest hatred for each other of probably two teams
in the league before that, you know, we had another
spitting incident this week with Jamar Chase getting suspended a
game and if you didn't see Mike Tomlin's comments after
(32:28):
the game, his comment was a reporter asked him did
he have a message for Jalen Ramsey after the incident,
he said, I have no message. When somebody spits in
your face, just do what comes natural. The way he
said it delivered, it was kind of like, hey, if
you got to put hands on somebody, put them on,
like I ain't gonna I'm not going to discipline you
or whatever. So that being said as a.
Speaker 5 (32:52):
Why Jamar Chase lie like that though this is the
and he knows you're gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
The league man.
Speaker 5 (33:05):
At the game two games just for lying this just
sulting Troy Vison should be like I'm gonna give you
one because you spit. I'm gonna give you two because
you try to insult Motel just by saying you didn't
do it. Now you've got two games.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
But as a teammate of Dak, Jalen car is going
to be motivated. Does this give you a little bit
more motivation as man the man like, Okay, you did
this to our guy or is this just one of
those things where it's the heat of the moment. You
understand like, hey, things get heated.
Speaker 7 (33:34):
You know, you never understand that No, not spinning, shoving
or hit me in the back or maybe rolling me
up low, not spinning two things a man should never accept.
Now I'm talking about this is Nate Man, not the
rest of the world. Don't spit on me, and don't
(33:57):
open hands slap back off for this way or that.
And because if I, if I can't get you right,
then it's gonna be a sniper shot somewhere, you know,
letting you know, So, does.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
That does that motiv does that? Is that gonna motivate?
Is that gonna put a little extra this week? Is
that gonna remind everybody in the locker room before they
go out there or leading up to the game, Hey,
you remember who.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
Can I can? I can I answer your question with
a question? Yes? Who's the dog up front?
Speaker 1 (34:32):
Who's who's the left guard?
Speaker 5 (34:34):
Okay, left guard?
Speaker 8 (34:39):
Dak was sort of standing up for Booker, So maybe
just give Booker a little extra. Although he's a rookie, so.
Speaker 7 (34:44):
I mean he called itself a soul snatches what bigger
soul you can grab? The thing is it's got to
be in you. I think that's what you're trying to say, right,
It's got.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
To be in you. Though.
Speaker 7 (34:57):
If it ain't in you, you know, uh, just mark
it up. Like, Hey, I'm just glad, you know what,
I'm just gonna speak for me. I'm glad he didn't
spit on me. I'm just glad he didn't do it.
Speaker 5 (35:08):
If Mark Colombo was still on this offensive line, you
know what would happen I'm saying. I'm saying, without a
shadow over doubt, you ain't gotta tell Mark Colombo. You
won't have to hype him up to do it, none
of that. I honestly believe if Mark Colombo had been
in the game when it happened initially, it would have
been two guys ejected from the game.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
If Mark Columbo might have been on his coaching staff.
Speaker 5 (35:32):
You know what I'm saying, Like, like guys like Mark
Colombo is just those those are glass eaters. You know,
you don't gotta you don't have to come on Mark Columbo. Now,
Mark Colombo, Columbo want to choke you out when he
woke up this morning, Like you know what I'm saying, Like,
there's certain dudes who just like they don't need any
extra incentive. When they wake up. They want to.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
Choke you out.
Speaker 5 (35:57):
Mark's a good dude. I played with my Colombo.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
I've seen Colombo and off the field nicest guy.
Speaker 5 (36:05):
Mark Colombo want to rip your face off, literally wants
to rip your face off. Like even I played with
with Leonard Davis, one of the biggest human beings you'll
ever see. Quiet Quiet you know, now Leonard grab you,
he might, he probably hurts you.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
He would probably rip your arm out of socket and
not even know that he did it by accident.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
But like Colombo, still brought more edge.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
You know.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
I played played on the team with Jay Ratliffe. J
Ra didn't need he didn't need any extra incentive simply
because you're in the other uniform. I want to strangle you.
I want to I want you to come this close
to the lord before I let you go. I wanted
to be here. They say play to the whistle. I
want to choke you out to the whistle and then
(36:51):
I'll let you go, and then I'll line up and
I'll do it again. So I don't know, I don't
but it feels was like there's more nicer guys on
this offensive line, not saying that they're not. You know,
we always talk about what's what's what's my other guy's name,
what's the backup guard's name, backup guards? Pauffman right like,
(37:13):
he's like he has that little bit of a nasty
edge to him, a little too small to go up
against Jillen Card telling you that right now.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
But I don't know.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
I don't know if Tyler Booker is the nasty type.
I don't know, And that doesn't that doesn't negate him
not being a good player, like Trent Williams is a
nasty type. Like Trent Williams. It's it'll never end with Trent,
Trent the kind of god. I'll meet you at the bus,
he'll find out when you're training in the off season.
Like it's it's players like that that it's just it's
(37:42):
to to Nate's points, it's it's just who they are.
It's a part of their genetic makeup. Again, maybe Tyler,
maybe Tyler Smith is that guy on this offensive line.
But I don't know if there's just a I don't
know if there's just a dude ready to rip your
head off across this off with.
Speaker 4 (38:01):
That, with that both of you guys in your eras.
Would that have been a topic of conversation this week
of you know, remember what happened last No, no, because.
Speaker 5 (38:12):
It would have got my era. It wouldn't have It
wouldn't have got off the field or something time to say, like,
it wouldn't have They wouldn't have walked him off the field.
It wouldn't have been you spin on my quarterback and
we just all what happened when you looking at Did
it get on you?
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (38:27):
Like my era wouldn't have done that, I tell him
telling you there would have been two guys ejected.
Speaker 4 (38:33):
But but I mean after that, would it have carried
on into this week and that been a topic.
Speaker 7 (38:38):
It'd have been handled right then and it's over. Yeah yeah, yeah,
Like I told guys, you know, I never I only
got in one or two shoven matches.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
And it wasn't about me. It was about Troy and Emmett.
Speaker 7 (38:54):
It was not if you coming at me, that's cool,
but don't go at my quarterback.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
I'm a running back. You can't do that.
Speaker 5 (39:02):
Flot Flota Islam wasn't letting that happen. Yeah, I'm sorry,
I'm just I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
We're gonna deal with you.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
Rose is not letting that happen. And like I said,
I was teammates with floes Out, teammates with Mark Colombo,
those guys. If someone spit on Tony, that just wasn't
that wasn't going that wasn't gonna fly. That was gonna
be dealt with in the moment.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
All right, Jesse, since Nate's packing up, tell us, I'm
just tell us a little bit about this ego secondary.
What do you see with those guys?
Speaker 5 (39:33):
We are looking for number eight, number eight, number eight,
that is the mouse in the.
Speaker 4 (39:41):
House, going after him.
Speaker 5 (39:44):
I wouldn't I wouldn't want to challenge Quon Mitchell too much.
He's the best, He's the real deal. He's the best
of the bunch. He's the best of the bunch. What
number is he? Twenty seven? Twenty seven?
Speaker 4 (39:58):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (39:58):
And then you have the Nickel Cooper Dejen. Adri Jackson
is barbecue chicken. I'm just telling you, Adri Jackson is
barbecue chicken. This is the guy that we want to
go after. I don't care if it's CD, I don't
care if it's GP. Adri Jackson is barbaq chicken. Whether
(40:22):
you want it, on the trigger whether you want it
in the green egg, whether you want it in the
air fryer, you want to sutee it, bake it, fricking
see it salt, however you want it. Attack number eight,
Attack him early, attack him often. This is now what
(40:45):
they'll probably do because Vic Fangio, he is one of
these defensive coordinators. He talking about defensive coordinators and kind
of having a blueprint and all that other kind of stuff.
You know, Vic Vangiel is the guy that said that
they had the blueprints. Maybe that was to Mike McCarthy's offense,
but having the blueprint for you know, Dak prescott Led offense.
(41:05):
So I'm sure he's gonna have a plan and try
of trying to negate of Dori Jackson being in too
much man and man coverage because you may just say
because because Quenyon Mitchell is good enough if you wanted
to go, hey, you can go and hang with CD
or George and then now we're gonna double the opposite guy.
So he's good enough. He's one of them where he
(41:28):
can go and travel with one of those two guys
whoever they decide to put him on. If they say, hey,
you gonna go over there and deal with George Pickens,
and we're gonna have a Dori Jackson and or a
safety over here on Ceede Lamb. That also can be
a plan. But everywhere else you're getting ready to have
to You're getting ready to face one of your toughest challenges.
(41:51):
And if you look at the last couple of weeks
excluding the Vegas Raiders, because could I be real now
positive yes Wednesday? Yeah, okay, cool, the Vegas rates goose
juice all across the board. Okay, go back and look
(42:11):
at the struggles that the Cowboys had against Denver Arizona
Walter Nolan. It was a Kalais Campbell. They struggled with
those guys up front. They got pushed, they got penetration,
they were they were they were recreating a line of scrimmage.
Same thing happened in in Carolina with that front. Same
(42:35):
thing happened in Denver with that front. So they're gonna
have to have a plan to be able to contain
this front. Nikobe Dean's playing a better brand of football.
Zach Bond's a good, really good linebacker. If the Cowboys
are gonna have success, find a Door Jackson and just
attack him that's what you need to go after. Find
a Dori Jackson, slants, goes, hitches, curl, whatever it is
(42:58):
you want. That's where this team need to attack. Uh,
because they're really good everywhere else, man, And this is
what has gotten them to the point where they're was
they eight and two now?
Speaker 1 (43:07):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (43:07):
Eight and two because we'll talk about their office tomorrow.
And if I'm being honest, it's more so of And
this is why A. J. Brown is a little bit upset.
And I hear his cry because he's not saying give
me the ball. He's saying, we our quarterback has to
be better. That's what he's saying. He's like, because we
(43:29):
can't keep winning games like this because it's offically gonna
bite us in the butt if we're not playing better
at the quarterback position. He's saying that without saying that.
But defensively, cowboys are in for tests. They're in for tests.
Speaker 7 (43:42):
The number one reason they in for a test is
they don't have to scheme you up.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
They would lie.
Speaker 7 (43:50):
They will bring a linebacker here and there in the
past rush, but I'm telling you they can line up
five across and stop run game or crush you in
the passing game. Yeah, they can line up, brother, this
is unusual. This is what Denver did. We're gonna line
up five across. What you're gonna do? Now, they don't
(44:13):
have these sacks, but I promise you they probably equal
in pressures. And then their guys are smart enough to
understand situation of football. Oh man, it's third and five
as second and eight.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
Well, you got to get rid of this ball quick.
You gotta get rid of this ball quick. I'm a bull.
Speaker 7 (44:33):
Rush him, get in a pass and cut their hands
coming up. So your quarterback will have to be very accurate.
And who he throwing that ball and where he throwing
the ball, and when he's throwing that ball.
Speaker 4 (44:44):
How many knockdowns did they have last week? Six?
Speaker 5 (44:46):
Shil Carter had full by itself. Yah, I'm sorry it
Jordan Davis right, Yeah, he had three by himself.
Speaker 4 (44:54):
So before we go, can I give you in Jesse
props on what that?
Speaker 1 (44:59):
What's that?
Speaker 3 (44:59):
Bro?
Speaker 4 (45:00):
Because if you watched, if you listen to the show
for years, you guys have been saying this, especially you've been.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
The loudest about it.
Speaker 4 (45:10):
If you watched the game on Monday night and you
talk about scheme, just stop scheme don't mean nothing if
you ain't got the people to play football, if you
don't have if that did not show you Monday night,
(45:30):
if you don't have that, if you don't evaluate your
talent correctly, and you don't have the proper players on
the field, the coaches don't play the game, the players play,
the players make plays, and it don't matter. Now, when
you got elite talent, then yeah, let's get fancy and
scheme and talk about all that. But when you when
you don't have the players to play in the scheme,
(45:51):
it don't matter what scheme you run, you ain't got
a shot. So thank y'all for saying that all these years.
And we actually we actually had a test case live
in the middle of the season. You added five to
six guys that hadn't been playing in a game, and
it's like a totally new team.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Brother.
Speaker 5 (46:09):
We've been on around enough Jimmies and Joe's to know, yeah, okay,
when when when you be around enough Jimmies and Joe's,
you go, man, it don't working lists. If you ain't
got the markets where you can't be talking about.
Speaker 1 (46:21):
Doing this thing.
Speaker 7 (46:24):
And this this is a short semple size. They gonna
have their lamps and bumps. But I promise you they
are better. This defense is better.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
They gonna have their.
Speaker 7 (46:34):
Lamps and bumps that this defense is much better due
to number ninety two. Is this number Quinny Williams that
he you know, it may not show up greatly in
this game because when good on good, that's when you
have to go to scheming.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
When it's good or good.
Speaker 5 (46:53):
Yeah, you got when it's good on good, Now we
got it. Now we gotta take our scheme to the
next level.
Speaker 4 (47:00):
Is it equal to or a better talent?
Speaker 1 (47:02):
Yeah? So now we got equal to a better talent.
So what is his name? A Dory Jackson jack scheme
for that?
Speaker 4 (47:11):
All right, good stuff, Jesse, Hey, good seeing you, Kurt,
good seeing you. Chris. Thanks for keeping us on the air, Josh,
thanks for keeping them company. Me back tomorrow Thursday. Cowboys Defense,
Philly Offense on Hanging with the Boys will
Speaker 2 (47:24):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
