Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Cowboys blowing out of the backfield, exploding down the sidelines.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
He's hanging with the Boys, presented by Wingstuck where Flavor
gets its wings.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Now your hosts Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, Jesse Holly, and Shannon.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
Gross Hab Dad, you look alive at Tostito Championship Plaza

(00:51):
outside Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
Where it is?

Speaker 6 (00:57):
Where's the weather is? Right up?

Speaker 7 (01:00):
Dad?

Speaker 6 (01:00):
I'm sorry, brother, I'm sorry. I just got excited to
saw the guy. A Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:03):
Nate has ESPN pulled up and he's so happy and
proud that Quinn Williams name showed up on the Cowboys
starting roster.

Speaker 9 (01:13):
It is seventy eight degrees of highs eighty one. The
low is fifty eight.

Speaker 10 (01:19):
He is shinning in the back. That's Kurt. Excuse me,
Chris Beam giving his live and low again.

Speaker 6 (01:25):
Kurt.

Speaker 10 (01:27):
He is Nate Newton. Where without Kurt. We found out
recently that uh in the trade with Quinn Williams. We
said massie and they wanted a writer, so they said,
we want Kurt downel. We lost Kirt off the best show.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
What they said was they needed somebody to write it
from the stories own Massie.

Speaker 10 (01:47):
Yeah, too many pumps got Kurt knocked out again. I
am Salt and Pepper Poppy. Together we make hanging with
the Boys the sports talk equivalent of brow people.

Speaker 9 (01:59):
When we speak wing stop.

Speaker 6 (02:02):
Is he.

Speaker 8 (02:05):
The wing stop for all that you do for us, Nate,
one of the best days of your post Cowboys career.

Speaker 10 (02:13):
We'll take some calls, take some calls.

Speaker 9 (02:16):
A eight eight five, five, two two nine, and we
go call.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
Let us know how you feel.

Speaker 9 (02:20):
We know how Nate are you.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
We know how Nate feels like a man.

Speaker 8 (02:26):
But a lot of the sites Kurt listed, ESPN, the Athletics, CBS,
et cetera are saying the Jets won this trade and
Dallas gave up too much.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Kurt would like to know our thoughts. I'll start off.

Speaker 8 (02:43):
If you think Dallas gave up too much, you have
not been around this team for the last twenty years. Yes, sir,
I agree that ain't too much like it's been too
hard to find. Jay Ratliffe was the last guy right,
and he's to me, he's not as good as this guy. Right,
So to give that up, I'm good. I'm totally good

(03:06):
with that.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Because Chris, when you get a chance run, what did
we give up? Because Chris Stolers lad yesterday and I
want so, Chris, I'm gonna let you tell us what
do we give up?

Speaker 10 (03:16):
Because we gave up a second this year?

Speaker 6 (03:19):
Okay? That second rounder?

Speaker 10 (03:20):
Second rounder? Yes, and whatever the highest of the two
first round picks that we get in twenty twenty seven.
So we have ours, we have our pick and Green
Bay pick in twenty twenty seventh. Whichever of those two
is the higher of the two, the Jets will.

Speaker 6 (03:35):
Get that one.

Speaker 7 (03:35):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
You know what Man and MASSI that that was not
don't believe that fans this this guy were one of
the two or three guys that me and Jesse said
if they gonna do it is this type of guy.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
This is the right type of guy.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
He will make people better, He will make people for
better just by him lining up. He will extend Kenny
clark career. This year, he will extend Uh, he will
make osa.

Speaker 6 (04:09):
A better player.

Speaker 10 (04:10):
Glad you preface that.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
What's that this year? Yeah? This year?

Speaker 10 (04:14):
If Kenny gonna be here next yeah, he may He may.

Speaker 6 (04:17):
He may don't do that.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
He may cost a lot of money.

Speaker 10 (04:20):
Those sixty million dollars front defensive line right there.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
Well, Jeseuz, we don't have Kenny Man.

Speaker 10 (04:27):
But let me I don't want to I'm sorry. I
didn't mean the right now in your parade. But go ahead, No,
go ahead, and look, I'm just foreshadowing and forecasting. It
may not happen.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
They may.

Speaker 10 (04:39):
They may get a chance to say, you know what
he's worth the twenty something million dollars, gonna pay it
to him, or try to find a restructuring deal and
you know, extend them.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I don't have If we get rid of Kenny, we
have no one technique.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
Now we're acting one guy again.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
We're asking one guy unless they draft a one technique.
We're asking one guy again, like the guy we sent
to Green Bay. We asked one guy again to make
this whole team better. It's not ever gonna work if
you don't get this could be our A plus player.
Now we need like four or five B players. They're

(05:23):
not on the scene.

Speaker 10 (05:24):
I'm just saying. I'm not saying it's gonna happen. But
when you start looking at as as mister Jones, Stephen
Jones would say the pie.

Speaker 8 (05:32):
Well, hope, hopefully you can go to him after the
year and say, hey, we're gonna cut you. Oh Kenny, no,
but we want to resign you on a team friendly
deal because there's no debt money on him.

Speaker 9 (05:44):
Right if you cut him right after the season.

Speaker 10 (05:46):
He's not older anymore guaranteed money.

Speaker 8 (05:47):
Yeah, so you you re sign him under a cheaper deal.
Hopefully we all want to keep him. Date you're not,
we all.

Speaker 6 (05:56):
Take what step forward?

Speaker 9 (06:00):
Oh, Jess, I'm just ruined his day.

Speaker 8 (06:02):
Wow, I'm sorry, And look for everybody that's like giving
up that the better of the two first round picks
in twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
If we're sitting here in twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 8 (06:12):
In March and depending on two first round picks to
make this team better, the window closed.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
You blew this track.

Speaker 10 (06:20):
We're sitting here in twenty twenty seven and we're thinking
about the better of the two first round picks. You
would think that Green Bay is going to be good,
and you would hope with what you've done so far, right,
you're gonna be good. So you're like, listen, whether it's
pick twenty nine or twenty eight, not like Hey, you
know green Bay was gonna be good and we weren't.

(06:40):
Now our pick is top ten or top twelve or fifteen,
then that's different. Your hope is that when you get
to twenty twenty seven that you've established a team that
now once you in that season, your season is ending
a lot later than November, you know what I'm saying.
And so now that pick in the conjunction with Green

(07:01):
Bay pick because you hope that they're still going to
be good, is more of the late first round we're hoping.

Speaker 8 (07:06):
We're picking two and thirty six.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
We got our number one two picks.

Speaker 10 (07:13):
Right, no, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes yes, coming draft.
It's coming draft. We have our two first fight picks.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
What we what we are doing here is building. This
is called team building. For one, I've had people call
me and I know, Jesse, the people that you work
with at your other shows are very intelligent too, And
everybody saying what about they could have did? No this
team from this day on, it is trying to build

(07:43):
a team. You've shown that by going out getting a
elite player. You showed that by going out and getting
a nice linebacker. I don't know this guy real well.
I haven't watched an the film, so I would not criticize,
to criticize or give him high praise until I.

Speaker 6 (07:59):
See him play.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
So you got you're starting to work on the middle
of your on your defense. Now you go out and
you just get a good safety. You don't have to
get a great safety, just a sure safety. A guy
that can line people up, a guy that can come
up and make a tackle, a guy that can cover
and be in the place he's supposed to be. Now
you're starting to build a team. You're starting to get

(08:23):
rid of what don't work.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
And MAZZI have.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Nothing against you, young man. I know you're a piece
for young man. You're a good young man. But I
hope you prosper. And with the Giant, I mean the
Jets wherever you went, I hope you prosper. But you
are starting to This is the first block to building
the right guy. It's hard for me as a as
a player, and Jets, I know you've seen the same.

(08:50):
You can't walk up and tell me this guy is
the standard. This is the standard. You don't have a standard.
What is your standard? Now you can look at mister
William and say this is the standard. You can look
at Kenny Clark and say this is the standard. First,
these guys are not only above average players, they do
their job. They line up where they're supposed to. So

(09:12):
now what you used to is everybody, Well, this is
what I saw and that's why I took the gap.
Well you're not gonna play this week. That's why they
got Donovan as a roku son. Do what we tell
you to do. This is how you start to build
a team. Now I may be on I may be
on the wrong path, but.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
This is how you start to build a team.

Speaker 10 (09:31):
Well, there's history. So one of one of the things
when you look at this with the Quinn signing, there's
history between he and and Whitecott. Yes, So I guess
my question to the fans, to you, to you, Chris,
how are you feeling about now still keeping Matt Eberflus

(09:54):
as your defensive coordinator? Now, you know you can say tbd, right,
you could say I don't know right now, let's see
how this looks in a couple of weeks. But bringing
in because you're talking about team building, right, You're talking
about yes, and you heard Jerry Jones on the radio
and all over the place talking about continuity right, keeping
these guys together and not wanting to have whether it

(10:16):
is by leaving head coaching job, but having a fourth
DC in four years. So does this type of addition
with Quinn and Logan and then potentially what you may
do in the draft and or offseason, does it make
you feel more comfortable with keeping Matt ebra Flus because
now what you're giving back is you you took away

(10:39):
an a. You took away an.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
Elite player, yes, sir, a pass rush you gave.

Speaker 10 (10:43):
You took away a plus plus player. But now you've
kind of replaced it in a sense of I'm giving
you an A player, I'm giving you I'm giving you
a well above average yes, well, well, well I'm giving
you a really damn good player. Do you now go?

Speaker 11 (10:57):
Okay?

Speaker 10 (10:59):
Uh, I'm gonna give you all these assets because I've
already got you know, Schottenheimer walked into DAK and CD
and some of these offensive line picks. We added a
piece for him, I'm add and a piece for you.
How do you feel about keeping Matt Eberflus going forward?

Speaker 8 (11:18):
I think it puts a really bright light on him
going We see.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
What you deal without any players. Now we got you
some players.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
No, I don't know which starting to building. They haven't
done anything with these guys.

Speaker 9 (11:29):
No, no, no, but I'm saying now you you have a
key piece.

Speaker 10 (11:32):
You've been the worst defense in the league, the second
worst defense.

Speaker 8 (11:35):
We're giving you this guy and a good solid linebacker.

Speaker 10 (11:38):
So you're comfortable with giving him another year to get that.

Speaker 8 (11:42):
I think this year there's a I think now there's
an even brighter light on him now because it's like,
we gave you some pieces. Can we go from you know,
second worst in the league to yeah, let's get up
to twenty fifth.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
You know this, this is gonna take some time. Fellas
we I'm often to protect flu.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Oh, you have had a record setting pace defense. You
ain't finna play just two games and all of a
sudden jumped to twenty five.

Speaker 9 (12:10):
Well, hang on, if the Bengals would have something to
say about that.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
Hold my beer right.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
There, y'all can do that bad just well here, No,
I'm talking about the Dallas Cowboys. You have had record
setting play every week. This man has just shot this record.
You go and look at the yards we have given up.
It would take a team of forty and we'll still
be at thirty nine.

Speaker 6 (12:34):
Let me ask how bad.

Speaker 9 (12:35):
Here's a question I have is a line. Here's a
question I have for y'all.

Speaker 8 (12:39):
What is the difference or what do y'all see is
the difference between when Nolan was here and eber flues
because they were both record setting paces and it seems.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Like you had younger, better players that were willing to learn.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
So the talent was better with Yeah, you.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Had younger, better players that were willing to at least try.

Speaker 6 (13:01):
That. That is just give your opinion. I'm trying to remember.

Speaker 10 (13:06):
I'm trying to remember who is some of the guys
on that Nolan's defense was that, like the Jalen Smith
guys and all that.

Speaker 8 (13:12):
I think that was towards the end of Jay Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think there were a couple of guys I think
was Osa here. I think he had a.

Speaker 6 (13:19):
Couple of he became here, Damn brought him.

Speaker 10 (13:21):
Okay, yeah, but you weren't talented on that group, you
weren't ultra talented.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
But but these guys, them guys for them would line up.

Speaker 6 (13:30):
Jess, we can't even get so.

Speaker 8 (13:32):
So is the sentiment around because it seems like ebra
Flus has people in his corner I'm just trying to
figure out, is it it's player based and not coaching
and scheme like you could do any scheme you want.
It's not gonna work with the set of guys that
you have right now, right is that kind of where
the defensive.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
The problem is. We got rid of the one guy
to Green Bay that was that was Keith. When it
came to pass rush, that was mister everything.

Speaker 6 (14:02):
He was elite.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Okay, what they were depending on okay, okay, we got
but what they were everybody depending on is okay, we
got at least two corners. We got at least two corners. Well,
your two corners didn't never show up? Are people thought
they showed up and they was running the wrong scheme? Okay,
well we went to your scheme. Well, one corner is

(14:26):
on our R and on another corner is still breakdancing
from what happened to him on Sunday.

Speaker 6 (14:32):
So let's say something wrong.

Speaker 9 (14:37):
No, I never heard that.

Speaker 6 (14:39):
It's awesome.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
So you either gonna switch the coach, bring in another
coach who may have a few more different wrinkles, and the.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
Guys keep criticizing.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
This thing has gotten to the point and I was
said every every day if I need to. It's two ways.
You can rebuild. You can let it rolled around you
like it's doing. It's eroding badly, or you can start.
You can change it yourself and speed up the process,
which they started yesterday with a linebacker who will be

(15:19):
helped tremendously. They say they told that guy, how do
you feel about coming to Dallas?

Speaker 6 (15:23):
And they say he was smiling.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
And then when they said, well we got Quinny and
they say, went with giddy.

Speaker 6 (15:29):
You know he almost did what I did.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
So I'm trying to tell you, man, if if you,
as a fan cannot look and see what we're lacking it.

Speaker 6 (15:41):
Don't.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
I'm a bland. I love you, baby, I know you're
a slot corner. Was that not man that he was
in against that guy Marvin Harrison who couldn't catch a
cold and locked up in a deep freezing in that line?

Speaker 6 (15:56):
And was that not the worst the worst receiving the league?

Speaker 12 (16:03):
Is?

Speaker 6 (16:03):
I'm lying?

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Was he in?

Speaker 12 (16:05):
What?

Speaker 6 (16:05):
Was he in? Man? The man coverage? He was? Okay?
What happened? So I'm gonna tell that right here fellas well.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
What great coach once told a great cornerback, I cannot
It was Belichick told the great corner he had for
so many years, RELs they was having a difference of
opinion about how to play certain things. He said, Darrel,
I love you. You a hell of a ball. You're not

(16:35):
gonna do it my way?

Speaker 6 (16:36):
Right?

Speaker 2 (16:37):
He said, Oh, Coach, I want to keep doing this way.
He said, don't mess up. All I'm asking you, son
is don't mess up. We real all of a sudden,
they had something little saying about him, like how he
can lock down the world.

Speaker 6 (16:50):
You know what I'm saying. So I'm just.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Telling you if if you're gonna open your mouth as
a player, if you're gonna open your mouth as a
player and you're gonna sabotage coach as a player, you
got to be that player.

Speaker 6 (17:03):
You have to be that player and.

Speaker 10 (17:06):
Be revis Island.

Speaker 6 (17:07):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
All right, let's take our first break something.

Speaker 6 (17:10):
I'm riding with your dog.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
We'll get Jesse's thoughts.

Speaker 6 (17:13):
I'm not riding.

Speaker 8 (17:15):
Phone calls eight eight eight eight five five on the porch.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
I know two nine seven.

Speaker 8 (17:19):
By the way, if you did not catch yesterday's show,
or you did listen to it and you didn't watch
the visual, go to YouTube and watch the first ten
minutes of the show in Nate's disbelief whenever the news
came out and him looking at Jesse and Kurt and
then trying to watch the TV.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
He didn't think it was real.

Speaker 8 (17:42):
And then when he realized it was real when Josh
came in, and then he was making phone calls on
the show, one of the best moments ever.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
Be right back on hanging with the boys.

Speaker 8 (20:23):
All right, Jesse, before we get to the phones, we
have a couple of calls. Now that you've had a
day to sit on it, what do you think? What
are your thoughts on just not only Quinn Williams, but
uh the linebacker.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
Wilson as well, and then and them two together.

Speaker 10 (20:37):
You know, I don't know if Josh is still in
the back, but Josh I was laughing. I was sitting
over it laughing at myself in the first segment because
I brought up the whole Kenny Clark thing, whether he'll
be here or not last night, and Josh asked me before
the show jokingly, he goes, yeah, Jess, how are you
gonna how you're gonna find a way to hate today
and I just started laughing. I was like, that's what
they say, I'm always hated. And I brought up that.
I was like, Damn, I'm hating already. I was like, damn,

(21:00):
we won't even tim minutes into the show and I'm hate.
I took my boy Nate Joy early into the show's
reality reality. Let's be can we if we're being completely
honest about that. Quinn is the dime, Like he's the trade.

(21:21):
He's the trade, Okay. Logan by hisself doesn't move the
needle at all.

Speaker 6 (21:30):
M hmm.

Speaker 10 (21:31):
And when you hear that, well, he's an upgrade, right,
Like Okay, he's the tallest short person. You know what
I'm saying, Like, wow, So will he bring something to
you better than what you had?

Speaker 6 (21:47):
Yes?

Speaker 10 (21:48):
But he doesn't change your defense. Quinn changes your defense completely,
like absolutely, Like Logan's not going on anyone scouting report.
I told you guys before, when you open up your
playbook of YPAD and preparation for game week, now this
new look, Quinn's on there, Logan's not.

Speaker 11 (22:10):
Okay, that's the difference.

Speaker 10 (22:12):
I think he's a solid player, Okay, I think he's
in the thing about logan is what we talk about
when we watch other teams like Detroit or you know,
the Niners when they were rolling and then you watch
these other playsure you're like, man, this guy's a player.
It's because he's surrounded by what we call those other
plus players. So he can just be a guy who's

(22:34):
just like effort right, knows where to be, has great effort.
Him alone doesn't shifted, but when he has the other
guys around him, being where you need him to be
means so much more now because it's like, hey, listen,
we're gonna funnel it that way. It's coming your way.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
Be there.

Speaker 10 (22:58):
You don't have to worry about because because QUINNI dona
send it this way.

Speaker 6 (23:00):
Can you go?

Speaker 10 (23:01):
It's coming your way.

Speaker 9 (23:02):
Got a guy you can trust to be there.

Speaker 10 (23:04):
Now, he's one of the guys, right, he's one of
the guys that are like, oh, he didn't wait to
get there this this isn't one of those type things,
or hey bro, we sent it your way. Where were
you at?

Speaker 6 (23:12):
Oh?

Speaker 10 (23:12):
I thought it was the B gap. Ah, it was
the A gap.

Speaker 6 (23:17):
My bad.

Speaker 10 (23:19):
As they're coming back from a touchdown, you know what
I'm saying. So that's what you get from from Logan,
so that that helps your defense out in the sense
of just having guys who can do assignment alignment football.
And what you also hope is that that permeates and
is infectious to the other guys of hey, let's get
lined up right, right, that's a big thing. Hey let's

(23:40):
get lined up right. And he's the communicator. He's going
to be the one that's I believe he's going to
be the one that knows what's going on. He's a
big film guy, right, right, that knows what's going on,
So he'll be able to communicate the checks and have
a check for the chest.

Speaker 6 (23:56):
More than half our problem lack of communication.

Speaker 10 (23:58):
That's been a ton part of the problem, right, And
but then the other half of that problem is you
just you weren't talented enough when you got there. So
so hopefully now with the addition of Quinnen and now
having a guy like Logan, at least we're in the
right place.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
And and what I the reason I keep smiling people,
is because we are beginning to do what other teams do.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
We traded for these guys.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
You look at the roster and it's starting in this
draft that's coming up whoever we draft in the first round.
The two guys I want to look at our roster
depth too deep depth. Job don't want to start because

(24:47):
you cannot afford to not give reps. We've seen what
our offensive line has done with the lack of reps.
And I'm not saying some of these guys as they
just they just ain't they seeming not to get it.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
But you need every repue, all right.

Speaker 8 (25:04):
So speaking of reps, now that you have Wilson, he's
listed as as your starting will battle linebacker and you
got a guy that knows where to be can line
folks up? Do you put the young guys in there
with him and let them get the reps?

Speaker 10 (25:21):
Or do you gonna be your mic? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (25:24):
They just got to hear.

Speaker 10 (25:27):
Gonna be your will?

Speaker 6 (25:27):
So do you is over shown.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Back this after the after the bye? That's a snap
count or he's just gonna run that. I don't know
this dude, don't want to snap count. They may sure
to put them off the field. He may not even come.

Speaker 9 (25:40):
Yeah, but do you do you give your reps now
to your young guys or do you leave it?

Speaker 6 (25:46):
What would you do?

Speaker 12 (25:47):
Just?

Speaker 8 (25:48):
Yeah, now that you got a guy that's he's gonna
be kind of your leader in that in that linebacker room, right,
get you lined up, tell the young guys like no, no, no,
you're wrong, and teach him on the field.

Speaker 10 (25:59):
Or I'm going full for you. It's it's it's Wilson,
it's over Shown, it's Shamar.

Speaker 6 (26:07):
It's Maris.

Speaker 9 (26:08):
Let me let him meet huh, And they are.

Speaker 10 (26:12):
Benny, barring any injuries. I'm saying, you know, Kenneth, we
appreciate you, brother. You you had nine weeks and you
showed us for nine weeks that this ain't it. And
maybe you have him in there rotating some a little bit, maybe,
you know, because I do think to your point, Nate,
I don't think they're just gonna throw over Shown out

(26:35):
there for seventy snaps. I think there will be a
level of a pitch count that happens with it. So
that's what you may see, Kenneth, because who initially was
your will linebacker, Kenneth came here to be the will,
not to be the mic. So I think that rotation
between he and Overshown, because I do think over Shown
is gonna be on a pitch count the first couple
of weeks.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
I'm a firm believer that I would take youth over
knowledge that can't get there. Jimmy taught me that why
would I just keep not playing my youth that gonna put.

Speaker 6 (27:09):
Me a year behind?

Speaker 2 (27:10):
And I got all this knowledge that just can't get there. No,
that's that's telling you player can't play no more. So
I'm like, hey, if we have to have extra meetings
and I get fined by the league, so be it.
You're gonna be We're gonna get in these meetings with
Wilson while he's learning to help you learn, and we're
gonna get better, and we're gonna run with the young cats.

Speaker 8 (27:30):
And then running the young guys out there. Doesn't that
help you evaluate talent going into this draft and.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Go, hey, let's let them play. Yeah, we're setting everything
up for next year. Sure, and we know in the draft, okay,
we got to get another line by.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
This group, and no, for sure, And don't be shocked
if you want a few games at the end, because
you know, get lucky because you know other teams are
not as getting ready for playoffs. Yeah, so you went
on and get your a little momentium.

Speaker 6 (27:55):
I'm just calling out and and.

Speaker 10 (27:58):
I'm not speaking for even lose, but like if you
watch the last game against the Cardinals, you saw more
five man fronts, so that they haven't really done a
lot of this year. You saw more of that in
a Cardinals game. And so now when you add Quinn
in to the mix, I mean there's gonna be moments
in time where you can kind of go into that
situation where it's quinning Kenny and Osa and get kneeling

(28:21):
off my field. But don't put him on the clowney and.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
As a rock as a rocker, That's what I mean.

Speaker 10 (28:27):
And then your linebackers could be Wilson and overshown or
Wilson and looks Kenneth or Wilson and whoever.

Speaker 9 (28:35):
Looks a lot different than it did the beginnings.

Speaker 6 (28:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (28:37):
Now, now your next thing is you gotta be able
to do we kind of get Yeah, we're getting solid
up front. We may have we're trying to find something
in the middle. Lord, just don't let him go, you know,
bombs on your heads off, get to that quarterback quick.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
This is gonna take time. And I'm not saying this
guy can't come in and be impactful. He will be impactful,
but it's gonna take time, and and and and and
and I know, mister Jones, like you know and everybody
that's under this star, we always have to say, if
we're gonna get to where we're gonna get and now
all you're gonna finish, get to where this where it's

(29:14):
where your records say you're gonna get to. That's it,
that's the bottom line. Right now, you're not very good
with this move. You're building to be good, so you
just you don't know when that's gonna hit. You know,
you've been a part of a team building. I've been
a part of a major team building. You don't know

(29:34):
when that's gonna hit. But when it hits, you gotta
you gotta take that window, and you got to make
it work. You got to make it work. Like Detroit,
they trying to make it work now, but they keep
losing coordinators and they keep taking shots here. Now if
they but five wins, they got to go on run
here soon. You got to just force your wheel when
it's your turn, because it's these windows where we used

(29:55):
to have a six year window, this thing down about
two and a half.

Speaker 6 (29:58):
Now you got to make a run when she will turn.

Speaker 8 (30:01):
So all right, let's take our last break. I promise
we'll get to calls in the next second.

Speaker 9 (30:05):
Lion, just start, I will good, Lion. We'll get to
calls while there's ninety calls. No, there's calls, but you're
gonna lie about it. No, I'll get to them and
we'll come back.

Speaker 8 (32:40):
The third segment brought to you each and every show
by seven eleven, And just like seven eleven, we are open.

Speaker 5 (32:47):
Twenty four to seventh for business.

Speaker 9 (32:50):
Speaking of business, who's on the phone, Chris, We've got
Ronnie and Jersey.

Speaker 5 (32:53):
Ronnie, what's up?

Speaker 3 (32:55):
How you guys doing, man?

Speaker 5 (32:57):
We're doing great. How are you doing?

Speaker 9 (32:59):
Man?

Speaker 3 (33:01):
It took us twenty or whatever it was amount of years,
but finally Jerry Jones traded for an eight. He's an
eight plus player. Man, I don't know you guys are
talking Jesse. He is not a D plus. He's not
an A. That's an A plus D tackle. That's a
young D tackle. He's not a thirty year old. I

(33:22):
love Kenny Clark, but he's not a thirty thirty one
year old nose tackle. This guy, this guy's got the juice.
I'm from here, from Jersey, and I don't like the Jets,
I don't like the Giants, but I watched I watch
him and he's a He's a player that I've always
wanted and we finally got a real B tackle. What
do you do with a D tackle?

Speaker 6 (33:42):
Line?

Speaker 9 (33:42):
You know what you do?

Speaker 3 (33:43):
You keep Kenny Clark, you make him a starter, and
you make Winning Williams a starter. Now you got that linebacker. Osa,
sit your butt down. I'm sorry they paid Osa. What
has Olsa done all year? He hasn't done much. Olsa
is your C plus. He's been a tackle that everybody
wanted to make him a B plus a player. And Jesse,

(34:04):
I love your opinions. I love everything you said, except
for that kind of clog part. But man, I am
thrilled with with the note. With the D tackle we
just got. Now we're gonna stop the run.

Speaker 8 (34:17):
Hey, what's the what's the centiment up there today on
all the talk shows? Are they do they think they
won the trade? Or they upset that he's gone? How
do they feel up there?

Speaker 3 (34:27):
The quarterback is the defensive tackle. You got a real
three technique now, and you evaluate and you got to
evaluate ERA plus now because hey, he runs it about
his three technique right, that's how his defense is based on. Well,
let's now, you got your three techniques why you got
your note tackle make it work. I don't care what
you got in the.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Back end, big dog, slow down. He asks you a question.
We need you to answer this question. I ask him
a question again.

Speaker 8 (34:52):
Yeah, I was just asking how the sports radio shows
are up there in Jersey? Do they feel like are
they mad because Quinn's Oh there.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Ain't nobody happy that they lost winn and win him? Hey?
But did that suck anyway? They weren't doing anything with him?
They go nowhere were they gonna go?

Speaker 6 (35:12):
Because if you they're.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Gonna suck for years. I don't care how many first
round picks they've got, They're still gonna suck.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
All right, man, we appreciate the call.

Speaker 7 (35:20):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
We appreciate is big. Yeah, that's not the worst thing
they say.

Speaker 6 (35:30):
He didn't say something.

Speaker 5 (35:32):
You talked about Wilson a lot.

Speaker 9 (35:34):
Where your thoughts on overall thoughts on on WILLI?

Speaker 5 (35:37):
Who would have been?

Speaker 6 (35:39):
You gotta get some calls, I.

Speaker 9 (35:41):
Said, I'll get I'll get to. You gotta get to
a call. Who would have been? Where would he have ranked?

Speaker 8 (35:46):
If you were trading for a defensive lineman, Let's say
a tackle interior defensive lineman, where would he have ranked.

Speaker 10 (35:54):
And it got better than sexy dexy.

Speaker 5 (35:55):
Okay, I was gonna.

Speaker 9 (35:56):
Say, if you got him, where would he rank in
your list?

Speaker 6 (36:00):
Three?

Speaker 10 (36:02):
Top five?

Speaker 5 (36:03):
Top five?

Speaker 6 (36:04):
Hop five?

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Guy?

Speaker 9 (36:05):
Okay, all right, Chris, we got another call. Yes, we
got Barrington in d C.

Speaker 5 (36:11):
Right, what's up?

Speaker 6 (36:13):
Hey?

Speaker 7 (36:13):
What's up? Guys? It's me again, my main man, Nate, Nate, everybody,
all my friends and listened to the show, said, brother,
did you hear what Nate said about you?

Speaker 9 (36:23):
After?

Speaker 7 (36:23):
And this was the first time you called and said no?
What When I went back and listen, I said, oh no, now,
my childhood hero, this.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
Is this is.

Speaker 6 (36:32):
The phone.

Speaker 3 (36:33):
This is my childhood hero.

Speaker 7 (36:41):
I was trying to No, this is my childhood hero.
We're saying the same thing, basically. To your point, I
said that Nate, that that we were basically saying the
same thing. You were, right, what's his name? Michael Parsons

(37:02):
is no longer here? Would be better shooted in the
three four. But what I was saying was we didn't
have the person nailed for the three four from my
That's all I was saying.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
But where you where you from and where you located
offrom d C and where what part of d C
Southeast Southeast. So if I come to see you, I
would know you if I drive, If I drive this weekend,
how would I find you? Besides you giving an address

(37:33):
on the on the phone, how would I find you? O?

Speaker 7 (37:35):
Man, I got a unique name. That was another thing,
he said, A white.

Speaker 6 (37:38):
Man named Okay, what's your name? What's your name? Bringson?

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Okay, if I go to the southeast Southeast d C,
let's say, hey, man, the brother that Barnson.

Speaker 6 (37:50):
But they know you. Yeah, yeah, I may pop up
on you, dog, I may pop up on you.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
How may you let's go get something of these the tauma?

Speaker 6 (38:00):
Yes, sir, we will, because you mark me.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
You gave Jesse the biggest laugh you ever had when
you when you went with the Asdine.

Speaker 6 (38:09):
Yeah, there's not there's not very.

Speaker 9 (38:12):
Many people that have an ongoing bid on our show.

Speaker 5 (38:15):
Here's this one.

Speaker 6 (38:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (38:19):
So but because they keep calling me, they said, Jeff,
they said, they mention you again. I said again, I said, man,
we basically say the same thing.

Speaker 6 (38:28):
Leave you leave your stuff with UH with Chris Chris. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Yeah, I may come and see you, dog, I mean,
you may be worried of me and you're throwing throwing
the show together.

Speaker 12 (38:38):
Let's do it.

Speaker 6 (38:39):
Let's do it.

Speaker 7 (38:40):
My childhood man, my childhood hero.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
I got you because if anybody can make my boy
Jesse laugh the way he laughed for two days, hang
with that now, Barrington.

Speaker 8 (38:51):
Only give him if he says he's going to show
up at a certain time, only give him like two hours,
because he will leave you on the porch. Yes it, Hey,
hang on the phone, hang on, hang on the line,
and Chris will get your your contact.

Speaker 6 (39:04):
Yeah, because this one a lot of these folks on his.

Speaker 5 (39:08):
Thanks for coming.

Speaker 6 (39:10):
All right, man, that's a nine. That's good. That's the nine,
because you know I want gonna le him. See yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (39:20):
Question for you guys, this is a this is a
writing question from Kirk Dallas way Malik Davis to make
room right, he'll likely make it through waivers and be back.

Speaker 5 (39:31):
But that just leaves you, Jaden Blue.

Speaker 6 (39:33):
Is the backup?

Speaker 5 (39:34):
Does that make you nervous at all?

Speaker 6 (39:35):
Or is that just.

Speaker 5 (39:37):
Kind of the price of doing business?

Speaker 10 (39:41):
We need we well, I mean he has he has
twenty four hours to club waivers. Yeah, so they got
two weeks for the next game, so he can he
can you can find another back. Okay, so you can
find another No, you're not worried about that.

Speaker 6 (39:51):
Okay, that's at least your words.

Speaker 10 (39:54):
Right now, at least fine, he ain't going nowhere.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
I mean, you gotta remember that we ain't rush for
one hundred yards. If that would have hit them thirty
folks scramble yards, we'd have been on one hundred yards.

Speaker 8 (40:04):
Please, man, speaking of we didn't really we didn't talk
about the game at all yesterday.

Speaker 10 (40:08):
But what is going on with the offense?

Speaker 8 (40:10):
What's is this a byproduct of now that you ask
one dimensional and having too much pressure on dak, now
that you asked.

Speaker 6 (40:22):
What brother, let me tell you what happened? What happened?

Speaker 2 (40:26):
All y'all always hear me say this, and this is
one time it came true. How do you respond to
a team that's equal or better than you? And I'm
coming from the cognitive side of you. The cognitis probably
looked at our offense like they got some players. Fellas,
we're gonna have to line up where we need to
line up, and we're going have to make some plays
at the most opportune time.

Speaker 6 (40:48):
On the gold line.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
I saw a run play where number two I don't
know if there's line back. Our safety came up and
made a play because they gave a little We went
in motion with our receiver, brought him over there. They
had the extra man. Our tight end was supposed to
go get him. He hesitated because he had a guy
right outside and they tricked us and we didn't know

(41:12):
who the block. He shot right up there and hit
the tackle for no game. Another play Walter the kid
number ninety seven, same that. They had a similar look
to that, and they were talking the old line and
the tight end. They were talking what our tackle was
supposed to do, What our guard was supposed to.

Speaker 6 (41:32):
Do was cut off his pool and get that guy
that was right over him. He did not do that.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
He pulled on around both guard and tackle pulled on around.
The tight end was supposed to come down, which he
would have never made it to that guy. Once again,
they had one man in the right place. Hit I
got number thirty three for a loss. Some of the
past plays, this is when you know you're confident in
your defense. And I could be wrong with Jesseph, Please

(41:57):
correct me.

Speaker 6 (41:57):
I need to know.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
He They threw a past the CD and it was
high because the quarterback was getting hit. Soon as CD
caught the ball, the guy came up on the sideline
and ripped the ball out.

Speaker 6 (42:12):
You remember that play at that towards the end of
the game.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
That's confidence, that's execution, that's preparing for a team that
is equal or better than you. It comes out. People
don't understand when I say. When I say that, Jesse
understands what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (42:27):
When you're playing a team.

Speaker 2 (42:28):
That supposedly be better than you athletic wise, are in
certain skilled positions, now you have to execute the defense
that the coaches have given you.

Speaker 6 (42:39):
They did that.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
They executed their defense to the best. They didn't give
you nothing big. They let you march down the field,
and when you got inside the twenty, they got close
and close and close up on you, and all of
a sudden they making plays.

Speaker 6 (42:53):
They executed bro They out executed us. As did I
say something wrong him?

Speaker 10 (42:58):
You said it right, And I mean the biggest thing
was that they were able to get a lot of
the pressures that they wanted with their down linemen. Yes,
layers Campbell and.

Speaker 6 (43:07):
The number ninety seven. Yeah, and then you know.

Speaker 10 (43:10):
And Walterton Nolan. There was no film on Walter Nolan
because he's been on he's been hurt all year. Yes,
so he made his debut against the Cowboys. So there
was nothing they when they watched film one week, they wouldn't.
You'd have to go back to Mississippi State, Yes, to
get filmore Walter Nolan and boy. And he wasn't doing
that against the scrub either. He was doing against all
of them.

Speaker 5 (43:29):
And yeah, like he and Smith, he.

Speaker 6 (43:31):
Had a day.

Speaker 10 (43:32):
He had a day.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
If you look at every sack, Dak had no other
choice but to come out and run. That was part
of the offense in the second half. He they as
soon as it open up, takeoff and run.

Speaker 10 (43:43):
But they were daring him too. Yeah, that thing was
your two horses are not gonna beat this over the time, right,
You're just not. We're gonna we're gonna keep it. And
that's the part that we can't sometimes do they saying, hey,
nothing behind you, They said, nothing up behind us. We'll
give it to you in front, and we're going to
rally to it. We're gonna tackle, we're gonna go with

(44:04):
great confidence.

Speaker 6 (44:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (44:05):
So they're just like, we're gonna be right there when
you catch it, and we're gonna have to You're gonna
have to just bring it in. And the Cowboys had drops,
Turping had to drop, ferg had to drop. Then you
had the fumbles. Didn't help. Uh, And you know I
said this the other day, A little bit of that
that offensive Sean is coming off of ebra Flus his
last couple of games. Excuse me, excuse me, Shoddy Shottenheimer.

(44:28):
He needs to get back in his bag.

Speaker 5 (44:29):
He had a tough game.
