Speaker 3 (00:09):

Speaker 7 (00:42):

Speaker 6 (01:23):
Nate has demanded that we do two hours today.
Speaker 10 (01:26):
Yes, sir, and I ain't getting you know what the
group know you were about. I already called this show counts.
Speaker 6 (01:31):
There is too much to talk about.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
What a weird, ugly, fun, sloppy, terrible, awesome little.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:46):
Very rarely do you see a game that's that's uh
got multiple personalities?
Speaker 11 (01:53):
Wouldn't for sure?
Speaker 6 (01:54):
What a crazy, crazy game.
Speaker 10 (01:56):
I just want to give out a game ball. Okay,
there we go to the tack of the New York Giants.
James Hudson. Oh lord, he he's a hug keeping a
giving a giving y'all three instead of seven man to
accumulate at least seventy five yards in penalties. Thank you,
And the coach still didn't want to take him out
(02:16):
of the game, but they may have found a.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Left tackle for real with him going to the bench.
So thank you, sir, you got a game ball.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Think I think the coach wanted him out of the game.
I don't think the offensive line coach wanted him out.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
He's like, we got no one else. I don't care
what you got, Jimmy, I don't care who you got.
Speaker 11 (02:32):
Russell Wilson had ninety five passing yards on that first series,
and he probably wanted him out.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Of it.
Speaker 9 (02:39):
Twenty five rushing yards. He was six for six on
that and they held the ball for Darnille a whole quarter.
Speaker 10 (02:46):
Seventeen twelve minutes that first quarter, twelve minutes and thirty
one seconds that first you know.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
You know what though, when I was watching that, that
took me back to what was it about six years
ago in Atlanta when they.
Speaker 8 (03:00):
Just oh Andrew and Claiborne, Yes.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
And I could like I felt so bad for that guy,
Like I just like I was like, oh my god,
this is like it like it hurt me to watch, Like.
Speaker 10 (03:16):
That's the first time I'd ever turned Oh that's the
first time I ever turned on Jason. After the second
sack and I saw what was going and I'm looking
at this, I'm like, Jason, you played ball before. You
you had too many guys on that field that had
played ball before. And this was a young kid that
you had any that you had opportunity to save him,
(03:37):
and you you let him go down the tubes.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
He never recovered a Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
I just kept going back to that and I was like, oh,
just but see The difference was this guy was bringing
the thunder.
Speaker 10 (03:47):
It was a little over sellous. This guy, other guy
back then was receiving the thunder.
Speaker 9 (03:53):
He had two fifteen yard penalties, he had two false
starts right, and he had a holding.
Speaker 8 (04:02):
He gave up a sack, He gave up a sack.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
And any one of the anyone of the fight. When
he got on the sideline, he was he was going, but.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
He had he that that he got.
Speaker 10 (04:13):
I'm not saying this kid was on something, but it's adrenalem.
It's adrenalem went so high to he was he was
out of control and the only way to save him
was after that second penalty, Hey man, sit over here
with us just for a minute, you know, No, I.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Mean after thatched him.
Speaker 10 (04:32):
Yeah, I mean he bawled his fencive at like eight
folks on the sideline, so they probably were scared.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
To take him out of the way.
Speaker 10 (04:40):
The game started, and everybody I talked, I taught to
Jesesy Suvitize suggests, I don't like I don't like to
feel because when you're looking at film our defense, and
I know film, you know, film don't lie. But like
we said last week, and I see this guy did
(05:01):
not have a chance to set his feet, y'all restaurant,
Let's see what happens if he could set his feet
and the offense run.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
They like, we can't go no lower, So let's at
least try a little bit harder. Let's open.
Speaker 10 (05:18):
Just think if they were to score seven, the confidence
they would have had, and then our kicker would have
had to be even greater. In our quarterback, who played
nice the last two games, he would have had to
be even greater.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
So I like how they continued to play.
Speaker 10 (05:34):
I like how coach continued to run the ball just
enough to keep that team going. We ran eighty something
plays to their sixty something plays.
Speaker 6 (05:45):
Say that again. We ran eighty plays.
Speaker 10 (05:48):
Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, and they ran like sixty something.
But what was so unique was they had twenty two
first downs. We had thirty two first downs. That tells
you they had more big plays than Yeah, and now
we even it up by the end of the game.
We had more time of possession than them by the
(06:10):
end of the game.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
But now my question is, you know, because I I.
Speaker 10 (06:17):
Won't suppose that like I knew the game plan. But anyway, Jesse,
why was the coverages the way they was with all
these big plays for the Giants, what coverages were we in?
Speaker 1 (06:34):
I mean, what went wrong there?
Speaker 9 (06:35):
Well, anytime and this is I know that a name
that we don't we're not allowed to talk on this show.
You hear a lot of times were you talking about
rush and coverage being tied together?
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Yes, they're on a string.
Speaker 9 (06:51):
Those who have good rushes normally have good coverage on
the back end. Those who have good coverage on the
back end have good rushes on the front end. Because
the passing game is about timing.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
It is.
Speaker 8 (07:06):
It's a timing thing.
Speaker 9 (07:08):
That's why you hear quarterback hey, three step drop one
two three ball is out. Five step drop one two
three four five ball is out. Seven step drop one
two three four five sixty seven ball is out.
Speaker 8 (07:18):
So when you're able.
Speaker 9 (07:19):
To either disrupt that timing from the defensive level, things
are off. But I don't have time to progress through
all my reads for the on the Cowboys part of things,
you already know coming into this game game plan wid
this is a zone team. They're gonna run cover three.
Last week against Philadelphia one hundred percent zone, this week
(07:42):
ninety seven percent zone. So you know that coming into
the coming into the matchup. Now what zone?
Speaker 8 (07:47):
Okay, cool?
Speaker 9 (07:48):
They do they like to run the cover three zone
over here, or they're running quarters over here, they'll run
six over here, just very different variations of zones. The
problem is, and you know this nack in every zone
there is an answer of offensive if I have the
time to get to it. And so when you don't
(08:10):
have a pass rush, I don't give a damn who
you got out there when you're playing a zone because
you're not playing a man. You're running to a spot.
You're running to a spot in the zone, and that's
the spot of the air you cover. Well, there's windows
and all of those different spots in between that zone
(08:31):
you try to play the zone with. Remember dan Quinn,
he's always wanted tall, long defenders. Why like think about
think about Jim Behaim and Syracuse when they run that
two three zone, that three two zone, all of them
jokers is six to six and got seven foot wingspans.
Because what I don't cover with my body, I cover
(08:54):
the rest.
Speaker 8 (08:55):
Of the zone with my arms. Same thing. Applause on
the football field.
Speaker 9 (08:59):
Now, when you talk about the big plays, well to
your point, Russell Wilson stood in the pocket all day
with no pressure in his face, and he's still a
good enough NFL starting quarterback that if he's standing in
the pocket, he's still got one of the best loan
balls in the game. Now, what you do want on
the back end side is you want the communication to
(09:20):
be there.
Speaker 11 (09:22):
And they look confused sometimes they.
Speaker 8 (09:23):
Looked a lot of times.
Speaker 9 (09:25):
And part of the reason why is you have guys
now playing in spaces that they're not comfortable in playing.
Donovan Wilson is not a cover safety. He never has been,
he never will be. So getting him back, Donovan wants
to play ten twelve yards from the line of scrimmats
coming downhill. He don't want to play fifteen to twenty
(09:49):
twenty five yards going away. His timing, his judgment is,
perception is off. He just that too much space for him.
It's too much space. He wants to narrow it down
to come down. That's where he lives. I'll take I'll
take a tight end that wants to run a hook
route or out route or option route or harvey, whatever
you want to call it, in that ten to twelve
(10:09):
yard range. When I start getting way back here, it's
too much going on. And now when you're talking about
by quarterback, he's relying on a certain thing too.
Speaker 8 (10:21):
Trayvon Diggs is not a zone corner. He's a man corner.
Speaker 9 (10:28):
So what happens with him, You look at it some
time when they're playing quarters of cover three. Sometimes he
don't want.
Speaker 8 (10:33):
To play off. He's uncomfortable too much space. Even in
his zone coverages.
Speaker 9 (10:40):
You watch them, he'll play closer to the receiver at
the line of scrimmage and then back off at the
last second. So now you have a guy in space
or guys in space that are not comfortable being in space.
You have a cornerback that's still technically trying to find
his sea legs. He's on pitch counting and still dealing
with the injuries type stuff you know, and I'll say
dealing with the jury, I mean like getting out of
(11:01):
his breaks, turning and running, breaking down all that type
of stuff. This when you hear guy say, oh, he's
cleared to play, but is he ready to play? That's
the difference mentally Physically, a he's cleared and he's all healthy,
but you still got to put in that that timing
of stop and turning running, So Now what ends up
happening is they're playing a zone. You're not getting any
(11:21):
rush on the quarterback. There's miscommunication in the back end.
Guys are running scott free.
Speaker 8 (11:27):
We've all heard the term many and many times.
Speaker 9 (11:29):
Is hey, especially at the end of the game, safeties
get deeper than the deepest. Nobody can get deeper. I
don't care if you got to get deeper to the
hot dog stand. Nobody gets behind you. That's a rule.
And there are times where you see the safety come
running in behind the cornerback chasing the ball. He said, wait,
you you already twenty five yards off. So that's how
(11:53):
when you're playing in those zone coverages and you saying
how they get these pass plays that are happening, Well,
you don't have any rush up front.
Speaker 8 (11:59):
You got guys playing.
Speaker 9 (12:00):
Too much space, spacial area. That's how you get up
And then then it's the National Football League. We told
you last week, Malik Neighbors is a damn good football player.
He's a really, really, really good football player. I sat
here and told you guys last week, I'm concerned about
what we're gonna do in the slot. We don't have
de Ron Bland, who's gonna play this Wendell Robinson, dude
in the slot, Wendell Robinson over one hundred plus twenty yards.
(12:29):
I know what my eyes are seeing. I know what
I'm looking at.
Speaker 10 (12:33):
So I'm telling you that this is the National Football League,
and I'm gonna say it every week into the sixth
week for all you wanna.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Bees y'all don't know football.
Speaker 8 (12:47):
Look at it again, look at it.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Yeah, man, I'm on that kick right now. I love
with feed nine fans, that foolishness. Get them ride with us.
You ride with the best, baby, look at us. You're
riding with us. We're gonna give it to you how
it is now.
Speaker 11 (13:05):
Yeah, does I re flu need to change his ways then?
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Uh?
Speaker 10 (13:12):
Even changing players, even change the way. They brought him
in here because of what he does. They brought him
in here because of what he does. Now, yes, you
do have to adjust to certain players, but certain players.
You know, if we call a zone and you got
(13:33):
four deep number six, you're gonna get you any more chances. Bro,
you can't turn it run with the best receivers in
the league get back. I just think if he was
only ten yards further back by the time. Uh, that
big number one receiver guy. Even with him, he'd have
(13:55):
been there, he'd have already been in en zone with
ready to battle.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
But you letting this do run up at you when
you twelve yards.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Deep and your feet still, and your feet is still
by time you got your hips around, Trayvon was doing
this like yeah, wait, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:13):
All right, let's take our first break when we come back.
So many things to talk about, but a win is
a win. In the last scoreball league forty to thirty seven?
Speaker 1 (14:23):

the UH. I went outside. I don't normally go outside,
but I went outside.
Speaker 6 (16:57):
And it was a weekend.
Speaker 8 (16:58):
It was a week at night and at night. It's
a trifecta.
Speaker 6 (17:01):
I'm glad you branched out this.
Speaker 8 (17:03):
I took a nap. I took it on a work night,
on the work night before work night. Yeah, Saturday, Yeah,
the work weekend.
Speaker 9 (17:09):
Yeah, I took a nap all day because I went
out to watch the Canelo fight Canelo Crawford fight.
Speaker 6 (17:15):
Oh so you took a nap to prepare for being.
Speaker 9 (17:18):
No way there was no First of all, my anxiety
media would have been shot up. I would have been
fed up, and I would have been gone by eleven.
You know, the fight don't get going till then I
know what I'm saying. So I had to get there
a little early to that. I took a nap all day.
I got my best friend flew in. He was flying
home and he took a layover at twelve hours layover
(17:40):
to watch the fight. We watched the fight at Texas Live.
Shout out to Tierra, my homegirl Tier. She took care
of us to make sure we were good there. But
some some some fans of our show, some fans of
us good people too. But we all know g from Jersey, Jersey.
He was he was there, but also and he hates
when I call him little, but he's a little man.
Speaker 8 (18:00):
He's a very very very little Shannon.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
No oh, g G hit Jesse on the picture.
Speaker 8 (18:08):
G I got one right here.
Speaker 9 (18:09):
Yeah, yeah, man, this is my boy, my boy Drew
Drew from Jersey. And then we had Fred from San Antonio.
Is Fred's gonna make us something?
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Fred?
Speaker 9 (18:20):
He he does the wood carvings, so he does a
good wood carving, so he's gonna make us a hanging
with the boy one. So hopefully we'll get that soon.
So yeah, So shout out to g from Jersey, Shout
out to Drew, shout out to Fred. We all hung out, man,
they hung out with us at the Texas shooting that picture.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
So I can put it up there. Yeah, I got you, Yeah,
I got sho.
Speaker 6 (18:41):
Good fight too.
Speaker 10 (18:43):
It's a really good, really good The only thing I
saw one shot of this fight, and this dude hit
mister Canelo so hard, so he turned him around.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
When he came back, he looked at him like.
Speaker 6 (18:55):
Oh yeah, that one shot.
Speaker 9 (18:57):
Yeah, that's him and the cowboy and the cowboy shirt.
Speaker 10 (19:00):
Okay on the front, right, yeah, in the right Okay, man,
can we can we.
Speaker 12 (19:05):
Put that on the camera?
Speaker 10 (19:06):
Man?
Speaker 6 (19:06):
Can well show everybody to the group. Chris get up
at it next? Yeah, well, good deal, glad you got
to hang out.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
With Yeah man, G good, thank you.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Man.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
He's a day one.
Speaker 6 (19:19):
He's been listening to us forever. So all right, quite,
I have so many questions, but we got two hours.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Okay, Chris making right into it.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
I'll ask you first, Nate, and then I have a
question for Jesse. What's wrong?
Speaker 5 (19:36):
Why is it taking the It seems like we're watching
the same offensive playbook, not playbook.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
It's hard for them to get going in the game. Now,
that to me.
Speaker 5 (19:48):
The second half he looked great, like he was dropping
balls where he needed to read and coverage really well.
But again it's taking him. It's taking him a quarter
or two to get going. What's the deal?
Speaker 10 (19:59):
The really other offensive line is off even with chip blocks.
I saw a running back hit the guy so hard
on the chip block, and it was running a te
a tackle end game and the dude hit the end
so hard to knock them off off balance, and the
guard missed him all together.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
And that was a sack.
Speaker 10 (20:18):
Oh yeah, dropped hammer on it on number fifty one
and so and now you gotta you gotta, you gotta
left tackle. See what your eyes let your feet and
hands react to what your eyes see.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
And I tried to tell him that you're doing camp.
Speaker 10 (20:38):
When you got a guy that's three yards outside of
you and it's a three step drop, you don't have
to really move. All you have to do is just
set up. He went out not up at the guy,
so he couldn't go across his face.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
He went out. The guy hit the gaps.
Speaker 10 (20:56):
I look over at the right tackle doing the same thing.
Three step dropped, understand, let your eyes five step drop
same deal. Don't run out. You give him a two
way goal. That is the problem.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Run.
Speaker 10 (21:10):
Make sure you deuce blocking together. Let Williams take on
the linebacker. He's a littit smaller. Don't let him have
to be getting split by down Liman. Take care of
the down Lima and move him. They did it a
lot of times. You did a nice job. Just one guy,
Just one guy. My right tackle has to be in
(21:30):
his knees. That is his issue. He's setting too deep,
just constantly setting too deep. Not enough good hand placement.
I'm thinking, if coach Connors have his way, he gonna
continue to drill these guys. He's gonna continue to talk
to these guys and continue to work these guys so
your hands and feet can catch up with your eyes.
(21:52):
You see where they're lined up. You know who to
get now is about working it and coach osmosis, keep
running rock, Keep running the rock.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
That saved us.
Speaker 10 (22:03):
That's I'm telling you that saved us in the end,
because our right tackle is a play action past tackle.
The more he can run, the more confident he becomes
in his past. It's not the other way around. You
can't let him sit and our left tackle has to
get in shape and see what he believes. Brother, don't
(22:25):
make a man that's a three of five technique. Your
outside eye, don't make him a nine technique. He's not
two feet three three yards eight yards out there.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Don't make him that. That's all I have to say, Jesse.
Speaker 6 (22:39):
So you think it's a timing thing, it's taken.
Speaker 10 (22:41):
It's a timing is how many reps you can get
in being at practice every day, working together every day.
I'm telling you, man, the inside did okay. Now, but
we lost the center. We lost the center.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
So now this slows down again.
Speaker 9 (23:01):
Your center's out six to eight weeks, yes, ankle injury.
Cooper BB's out six to eight weeks. How does that?
How does that change it?
Speaker 15 (23:09):
Now?
Speaker 9 (23:09):
Rock Hoffman, who was playing, I guess he's playing center
and guard. Now you're now your new starting center for
the next and TJ.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Bash becomes the swing guard.
Speaker 10 (23:19):
Uh, you just have You're still here, DJ Bash, Yes,
he's here, still here.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Yeah, they showed him before the game.
Speaker 10 (23:26):
When they should have been showing Tyrone talking about the
new contract.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
They showing TJ Bass who wait to go.
Speaker 6 (23:32):
Speaking of new contracts. We got a new defensive end.
Speaker 8 (23:36):
Right, Yeah, we'll get to that. You think, let them
finish this.
Speaker 10 (23:39):
Yeah, but it's still it's still gonna be a little
bit of work, a little bit of work.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Go ahead on man.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
But is it adjustments in game that make them.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
Yes, the second half looks so much better than the first.
The first half you're like, oh my god, we can't
move the ball, and then all of a sudden, it's.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Like this is in Jesse. If you agree or not,
let me know. You have to play in the perfect
world on paper. If you line up right here, we
got you. But what if you move six inches this way,
six inches that way? Now I had the center helped
(24:17):
me before.
Speaker 10 (24:18):
Now it's the tackle because he moved six inches the
other way. So every play changes on offense. This is
how I always looked at it. It's aligned, it's it's sign,
it's an assignment, and then it's alignment. I'll walk up,
I know the assignment. Now I got to watch the
alignment to complete the assignment. On defense, just the other
(24:39):
way around. It's alignment now since I have to react now,
I have to fulfill this assign the assignment.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
That's all it is for me.
Speaker 10 (24:47):
That's how I always looked at I had to always
dumby things down. I want smart like you.
Speaker 6 (24:55):
What do you? What do you think?
Speaker 5 (24:57):
It's why is it taking him so long in game
to fit? That was a problem the last couple of years.
Starting slow and then you know, you wind up being
down so many points a lot of times you can't
come back.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
What are you seeing?
Speaker 9 (25:08):
That's it's just a you know, after a while, it
becomes who you are, It becomes who your identity is.
It's a pattern, you know, it's not like a once
in a every other time thing like this is how
they're They're a slow starting team.
Speaker 8 (25:21):
You know.
Speaker 9 (25:22):
The way you can probably work through that is but
that's always a dangerous proposition is that you know, you
come out and you kind of go no tempo, I mean,
you know, up tempo, no huddle.
Speaker 8 (25:33):
But that happens so quick.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
Man.
Speaker 9 (25:35):
If you next thing, you know, if you bank bank
banging you three and out, you're back on the sideline.
It depends on all depends on how your you know
your defensive playing, So this team has always been a
slow starting team. Thank god that you got you know,
you got second half, doc, because that definitely saves you
and helps you tremendously.
Speaker 8 (25:52):
But this is why.
Speaker 9 (25:53):
And I still sit in the same place I did
a week ago. I'm confused about what this football team
did because.
Speaker 8 (26:05):
I watched this and this.
Speaker 9 (26:06):
I had an epiphany driving to work this morning, because
I know I get the wrap of sometimes Jesse, you're
being negative and and it hit me literally after all
of these years, when I sit in this seat, I
know I sit here as an analyst or I sit
there as a host, but I review film and I
watch film like a player. So no matter what good
(26:28):
has been done, we all we take the good that's
been done and we just bank it.
Speaker 8 (26:32):
It's okay, it's done.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
I do.
Speaker 9 (26:35):
It's just what it's It's so for me to come
here and be like, but we did, I don't. I'm
not wrapped that way. I'm not wired that way. The
good I see it, I know it, I've watched it,
so I bank it. But now I'm thinking to myself, point,
I gotta get better.
Speaker 8 (26:49):
Here here, here, here, here, here, here.
Speaker 9 (26:51):
And so when people hear me talk They're like, you're
so negative, and I'm like no, They're like, but what
about this? And I'm like, I already bank that that
we know that, But how do I get better for
next week? Because I watched this game and I go,
you have to go to an overtime shootout? What an
absolute terrible football team. The Giants are a terrible football team.
Speaker 10 (27:12):
I think the offense is offensive line. I just think
the offensive line.
Speaker 9 (27:17):
Is okay, I'll give you that. I give you that,
but you they're undisciplined, Yes they are. You saw that,
Like they're.
Speaker 8 (27:28):
Undisciplined, like they don't make smart decisions.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
That's right.
Speaker 9 (27:31):
Their offensive line is bad that they'll tell you how
bad our defensive line is. This is why Jerry made
the call at halftime.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
I'm gonna help you. Didn't have to make that statement.
Speaker 8 (27:41):
I'm just saying.
Speaker 9 (27:42):
But you're watching all of these things happen, and you're
saying to yourself, like we're having these elementary level We're
talking about the coverage. Y'all been playing safety your whole life.
Y'all been playing dB your whole life.
Speaker 11 (27:56):
Expecting too much of the Cowboys. We're saying, York's so bad. No,
we had twelve pennies. They had fourteen.
Speaker 8 (28:04):
Yeah, no, no, no, they had.
Speaker 9 (28:08):
When you hear when you hear Nate say things like,
when we play team that are equal to or better
than us, sir, we don't come up victorious because we
got to play a real bad team who do real
dumb things and bad things just to get to a
sixty four yard field goal to win it. On forty
(28:28):
six yard field goal to win it.
Speaker 8 (28:30):
That's that game. Shouldn't have been that. And I get it.
Speaker 9 (28:32):
It's in the NFL footprints a week, you know, and
our people and again those I'm not doing the Ryan
Clark thing, not the non player things.
Speaker 8 (28:39):
I'm not doing that.
Speaker 9 (28:40):
I'm just saying those will tell you, you know, a
winners and winners and win you get it in how
you get it, I understand it. But those that know
down the hall and they know this, they know this
down the hall, they go, they watching that film today
and they're looking at themselves and they're going, ain't no way,
ain't no way. We should have been in the shootout
with the New York Giants. They felt that coming in, man,
(29:00):
they felt that coming in. And so when I look
at this thing, I go, you know I'm looking at
like I haven't beginning the Bears preparation, but now I'm
looking at him like, hell, if the Giants confuse you
with the I know, Ben Johnson, that's gonna confuse you.
Speaker 11 (29:15):
It's like, obviously a win you want to win, but
almost felt.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
Better about the lost.
Speaker 11 (29:22):
Then you did the win to the.
Speaker 9 (29:23):
Giant, right, But you see what happens when you're playing
the good teams. Even when you play better, you're still
not good enough to beat them. And when you play
the bad teams, like, let's be honest, and I told
you guys this month, a month ago, Dak is going
to have his greatest statistical gear ever. He is he
(29:47):
passed the ball fifty two times last night.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
You don't want that?
Speaker 14 (29:52):
Is he sore today?
Speaker 8 (29:54):
Fifty two times he passed the ball last night.
Speaker 9 (29:57):
And when you watch these games, guess what, But he's
gonna have to pass it forty next week. And I
he might want to get the flu in two more
in two weeks because they.
Speaker 8 (30:08):
Gonna hurt that.
Speaker 9 (30:08):
They might hurt Dak in the Green Bay Green Bayo
be coming out there, Green Bayo be whipping it and
coming up. But this is the formula of what you've
seen offensively late in that game, third quarter, fourth quarter, overtime.
They scored twenty one points in the fourth quarter. Excuse
me saw twenty points in the fourth quarter, three points
in overtime. That's gonna be the formula. They're gonna have
(30:32):
to score thirty plus points a game. Dak's gonna have
to put the seed. He's gonna have to be CD.
I told you all this. I told y'all this a
month ago. This is how this football team will win games. Okay,
j Davian Clowne, you brought him in. Cool, This defense
is not good enough, the scheme and the players.
Speaker 8 (30:54):
You and I and I do have to apologize.
Speaker 9 (30:57):
Because I sat here and I said, give you my
white linebacker with the crooked nose and a bump on it.
It's Sam boor. I think Eban Flu's watched film. It
was like the Tampa two gonna work.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Watch it.
Speaker 8 (31:08):
Watch this film.
Speaker 9 (31:09):
And he put the film on and they were Brian
Urlacker that was running down the middle of the field.
He was like, okay, cool, I can do this. I
got a white linebacker. That's a white linebacker. We're gonna
run Tampa two this week. And he and he and
he showed Sam boor and and there's certain things I'm like,
I don't blame sam Bory because Sambory Python. And they said, okay,
I'll do with that wide light backer then in the
(31:31):
film because coach, I know, coach had them cutoffs. I
know coach, and like, look at Brian, Oh, I can
run this Tampa two. You're gonna turn, You're gonna run.
You meet by the angle and we're gonna stop that
scene down because we're gonna have the safeties in the
middle of field. Gonna be He said, okay, cool coach,
and then he turned, he ran, and he goes, oh,
I'm not I'm not actually like the white I.
Speaker 8 (31:52):
Can't do with the other white linebacker then, And that's.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
As a safety.
Speaker 8 (31:58):
You know, I don't I don't know you want.
Speaker 9 (32:01):
I don't know if you want Jack Samborne, Jake Samborine
running down the middle of the field trying to cover
at slot receiver.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
The thing is, we were this much better.
Speaker 10 (32:12):
And you know, and Jesse, Jesse to know what I
what I call him when we leave this place and
I call him, he know him word, I said, what
are you feeling?
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Because and I'm talking to my wife. She's just looking
at me. I'm like, see all you had wonder with
I just did not believe.
Speaker 10 (32:31):
That the Giants, besides their offensive line, was that bad.
Their defense if they had any help, could be lights out.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
But they ain't gonna have no help. The bottom line
is this right here?
Speaker 10 (32:46):
How do we adjust our safeties if we're gonna continue
to play this zone? For you to have Donovan in there,
that is a liability. I mean, he's a great stop.
I'm not taking that away from this kid. If he
can play up close, what do we do?
Speaker 1 (33:05):
See? I see the I see what the effects of
what is happening? How do you fix it?
Speaker 8 (33:11):
And that's the thing is.
Speaker 9 (33:13):
And to take a page from Shady, who took a
page from his daddy. He said a lot of times
as a play caller, he said, you call the players
for the player. That's right, not the players for the
You know what I'm saying, Like, that's right. And that's
what Eba Fluce has to do. Like Ebra Flus can't
come in and go I'm a cover three. We're gonna
(33:35):
run cover three. We're gonna run this cover three zone.
At some point time, you gotta go.
Speaker 8 (33:39):
I don't have to. I don't have the dog to
do it.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
I don't.
Speaker 8 (33:42):
So now I have to play till the strength of
the players that I have.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
That's right.
Speaker 8 (33:46):
Like that, That's what a good coach would do.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Not staying.
Speaker 8 (33:49):
I know that we're still saying.
Speaker 9 (33:50):
Some may say it's just week two, but you got
you got worked in the last couple of weeks with
his own.
Speaker 10 (33:55):
Coverage, and you have a history of this same thing
last year with them trying to bring him midway.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
I call it midway.
Speaker 10 (34:04):
Either bring him on up that's eight or nine, or
put him on back there. Don't do the midway to
midway to twelve to fifteen gets him killed.
Speaker 9 (34:13):
He's that this guy's got, he's not don't be don't
be having him turn right one look and I'm gonna
get back to the middle of it. Nah, get on
back there. We'll we'll figure somebody out. But but this
is what you have to now do you now literally
you have to self evaluate and look yourself in the
mirror and go this what I want to do, What
my staple is is not working. I now have to
(34:35):
get back in the lab and says, say what will
work with the guys that I have until I get
back Bland, until I get back you know, hundred percent,
you know Higgs Diggs, Maybe until we form a past rush,
you know, Jerry. This is why sometimes sometimes the general
manager will owned the president. He stressed me out sometime,
(34:57):
cause you sit out there and you tell them people,
oh yeah, we can inenerrate pressure. We can prove but
who what who?
Speaker 6 (35:03):
Well answer that question when we come back from break, because.
Speaker 1 (35:05):

four fresh round, new.

Speaker 9 (38:50):
I ain't even give me no food. It was packed
in it. It took forever to get to but no,
it was good.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
It was good.
Speaker 5 (38:57):
How often do you adventure out into a public setting
like that?
Speaker 6 (39:02):
How many times a.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Year do you do that? Do you think.
Speaker 8 (39:07):
Twice?
Speaker 14 (39:08):
Really?
Speaker 6 (39:09):
So, that was like a big deal for you this weekend.
And you wouldn't have been out if your buddy was
in town.
Speaker 9 (39:14):
My best friend, he was flying back home. We fired
from west coast to the east coast and he had
a layer over another city. Realized the fight was happening.
Didn't want to be in the air when the fight
was happening. It was like, man, I'm just gonna divert
my layover to DFW doing a long a layover and
just leave in the morning.
Speaker 8 (39:31):
Can you come in from the airport?
Speaker 6 (39:32):
I said, yeah, let me get this nap in.
Speaker 9 (39:34):
Yeah, real, I get this nap in. And so I
got it. And honestly, had he not.
Speaker 8 (39:40):
Come you to watch it at the at the house, yeah,
I'd have been at the house.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
So you know the difference between you and Nate.
Speaker 5 (39:47):
Y'all probably make about the same amount of public appearances
a year. But if somebody would have walked up to
Nate and started talking to him about football, he'd have
been like, all right, fellas, so I see y'all later, So.
Speaker 10 (40:00):
Let me just see this, let me, let me, let
me just germ will stop taking let me stop thinking shots.
Speaker 6 (40:10):
It was a nice meeting, y'all, fellas lated.
Speaker 8 (40:13):
It was a great time. It was a great time time.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
Jess, you got another twenty five minutes.
Speaker 8 (40:18):
Fred was dope.
Speaker 14 (40:19):
G was dope.
Speaker 8 (40:20):
Of course, I have my best friend.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
Yeah, the little guy, little Drew.
Speaker 6 (40:25):
Yeah he's whipping you, little Drew.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
He whipped you a little bit.
Speaker 9 (40:28):
Little Drew got that Little Drew got that talk game
on and I know you're watching this.
Speaker 8 (40:32):
I know you watching this, y'all. Fella could talk.
Speaker 6 (40:35):
He's just excited.
Speaker 8 (40:36):
And that's what that's why I made a celebrity.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
And it was great.
Speaker 9 (40:39):
And I stood there and I had to keep all
tell him beause he's so sure how to keep leaning
down the wise.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
You can hear him. No, man, you leave your back side.
Oh lord, now.
Speaker 9 (40:50):
He always but he shout out to shout out to him.
He didn't make a donation to Holly's helping hands on
the spot. So I appreciate you, Drew. But yeah, we
had a good time. They were fun. Man, Drew was great.
I learned a lot about his family, his son, his daughter. Uh,
you know, we we had good man conversation if you
know what that means. You know what that means. And
it was good. We had a good time. We had
(41:11):
a good time man, and we chilled.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
It was on any green.
Speaker 8 (41:15):
My pants were actually green.
Speaker 6 (41:18):
The whole bottom half.
Speaker 8 (41:22):
You got outs were actually green.
Speaker 6 (41:24):
I'm glad you got out.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
Joy of the fight would have little green on that.
Speaker 5 (41:28):
Yeah, leprechn All right, two questions I have for you, guys.
First one, we got about four minutes, but about twelve
more minutes thirteen twenty five.
Speaker 6 (41:40):
How do you think that?
Speaker 5 (41:41):
Do you think Jerry picked the phone up or turned
around to Todd Williams in the suite halfway through the
first half and goes, we can't get no pressure. Call
call that guy that was in here tried out last
week and get him signed before the end of the game.
Speaker 6 (41:57):
Do you think that's how that went out?
Speaker 8 (41:58):
So you think I think they just told him before him.
I don't before the game.
Speaker 11 (42:03):
I just yeah, they probably just said, hey, we're going
to do this Monday, We're not going to pay you
the Yeah.
Speaker 8 (42:07):
But he did the announcement after after the game. But
then he could have just waited. Today he's trying to.
Speaker 1 (42:15):
Her and I heard that.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
I was like, I heard it was like after like
but he did the third coach, like the third walk off.
Speaker 6 (42:22):
It wasn't even top of mind.
Speaker 5 (42:23):
It was just like, you know how Jerry does his
walk off and then Okay, that's it and then somebody
will say something, he'll stop. He'll heard it was like
the second time he did that was signed him.
Speaker 9 (42:34):
Yeah, but see yeah, mis because when they got either
shot he's a really good liar. But when they had
shot in the on the on the podium. He was like,
is that what Jerry said? Like he didn't know. He's like,
if Jerry said it, I guess. So I'm like, either
he's a really good liar or Jerry was working the
(42:55):
phones at halftime.
Speaker 6 (42:56):
I'm telling you, man, he probably got up to go
to the bathroom.
Speaker 10 (42:58):
Like, I know, we ant for your enough walking out
the double. Can we offer you a little bit more
to walk?
Speaker 1 (43:02):
Brother?
Speaker 10 (43:06):
The thing is, will you how long will it take
him to get in the shape. I don't mind signing
guys who missed training camp, and yeah he can, but
I don't want to be three weeks now. Oh man,
remember when we signed him Magic because.
Speaker 8 (43:28):
It took three weeks to get It's gonna take, It's
gonna you know that. Yeah, but well he plays situational
this week?
Speaker 9 (43:35):
Yeah, yes, even still like yeah he done. You still
gotta get you know, talking about getting familiar with the scheme?
Speaker 1 (43:42):
Yeah, where do I fit him.
Speaker 9 (43:43):
In at if the opportunity presents himself and you know,
getting his body back in the rhythm of things, Like
he hadn't done anything when he got released from UH Carolina.
Speaker 8 (43:56):
He been at the crib. Now I'm sure he's worked
out at the crib, but not it's different.
Speaker 11 (44:00):
May be a few weeks for you.
Speaker 8 (44:01):
It's gonna be a few weeks before you see him.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
For they say have to do the three day a week, they.
Speaker 9 (44:07):
Gotta do a couple of day ramp up situations. So
I mean he'll get through that early in the week.
But I mean for him to have his true self
legs underneath him, that's gonna take a couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
All right.
Speaker 5 (44:19):
My other question that we have twenty five minutes to answer, Jesse,
this one was for you because I tried to figure
it out and I can't, so I need your help.
Speaker 8 (44:29):
Two plus two is four.
Speaker 6 (44:30):
I got that. I got that part as long as
they're not in the double.
Speaker 5 (44:35):
Is does Pickens do something different as a wide receiver
that makes guys grab him? Because that's two weeks in
a row. He is just getting mugged. Is he getting
past these guys and they have no choice? But is
he that fast? Is his body just built weird to
where they have like what is the like? They are
literally grabbing him on every play?
Speaker 9 (44:57):
Yeah, because they watched They know who he is. They
washed the film. They see the scout and report he's tall,
he's fast, and they're running him on four routes.
Speaker 5 (45:06):
But I mean there's other guys in the league that
are tall, fast that they're not they're not hitting his pads.
Speaker 6 (45:12):
What makes it different.
Speaker 9 (45:13):
Because once he beats you, now all of a sudden,
you're in this panic mode and now you don't know
what he really does so well, and when you go
and you watch him, he's he has what you call
late hands.
Speaker 6 (45:25):
Oh that's just non chalant, like here comes the ball,
boom boom.
Speaker 8 (45:29):
Right So now so but you say that.
Speaker 9 (45:32):
But the dB doesn't know the ball dB looking for.
There's two signs of the D look for eyes and hands.
When your hands go up, they shoot through your hands.
So now they're looking at he not giving them eyes
or hands. They're panicking. They're like, wait, is the ball
coming or not? And he like this and he's slowing down.
He's got good body position, he has a gainst, great
(45:52):
body control. And now all of a sudden they panicking,
They trying to figure out what's happening. And then when
he goes lay hands, they're like, oh, nope, we're grabbing
on you. And so once he beats you and you
don't know he not running looking like with his hands
out like you see all the receivers do he got
late hands, you know, his eyes or relax, he's calm
because in his head, I'm gonna catch it anyway. That's
the kind of belief that he has with you know,
with the balls in the air and the dB don't
(46:14):
have the tell tale signs to go through knock the
ball down, hold his hands, so they start grabbing. That's
what they That's what they do, and he probably.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Is when he was at Pittsburghs.
Speaker 10 (46:22):
But the number one contested catching ball catcher and number
eighty six need to go, say, man, how do you
do that?
Speaker 1 (46:31):
Number eighty six? For y'all that.
Speaker 10 (46:32):
Don't know, schoon maker can not catch anything tested? Yeah yeah,
I mean coach stopped with that, all right, stop?
Speaker 1 (46:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (46:44):
I love watching him play, but every time he's involved
in the play, I just get this feeling he's gonna
get up and swing at somebody after the play.
Speaker 6 (46:54):
Like I just get this nervous yeah pickings.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
Like no, no, no. See.
Speaker 10 (46:59):
The thing is but this new rule, because normally he
could talk noise like Tennesse, but that taunted.
Speaker 1 (47:05):
Over with bro that new rule.
Speaker 5 (47:08):
Yeah, have you ever seen a play where there were
four penalties on the place and can we can we
please change the.
Speaker 7 (47:16):
Rule because they had one canceled out three Come on now, like.
Speaker 8 (47:22):
That's was rough in the past. There was rough in
the past, passive affairs. There was another one.
Speaker 6 (47:30):
I think it was a personal foul.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
Rough in the past, and receive. But the thing fellas.
Speaker 10 (47:41):
We we we did not play a clean game. And
when we meet up with somebody that's equal, all better,
you better can't. That's that's forever since it was in
Pop Warner when we was going against somebody that was good.
You notice the coaches at their best, fellas. All we
(48:04):
have to do.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
Is this, this and this.
Speaker 10 (48:06):
But you're looking at your team knowing in your heart
that you don't have athletes.
Speaker 1 (48:10):
But if we do this, this and this, we'll have
a chance to win this game. A chance. Yeah, I'm
not you gonna win, but chance. So I'm telling you.
Speaker 10 (48:19):
Coach Schottenheimer is telling his offensive line, well, Coach Connor
is telling us off, fellas, see with your eyes, move
with your feet and let your hands do their jesting,
but keep your head up. Understand assignment, then alignment, and
(48:40):
then playball. He's got to be telling them that because
you are the key to Dak being in the top
three in the MVP voting, are in the local ambulance somewhere.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
I think, Yeah, I'm not, y'all.
Speaker 10 (48:56):
I try to tell you last year you cannot take
but so many hits a game. It's one thing when
see let me explain this right quickly before we get
out of here.
Speaker 6 (49:05):
All right, you get your extra twenty five one way other.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
When you drop back. When you drop back, christ Is
just cut me off.
Speaker 10 (49:12):
When you drop back as a quarterback and you have
an idea, you finna get hit.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
You can tense up.
Speaker 10 (49:18):
But fellas, when you're doing this and your arm is
extended and your ribs are open, how can you tense up?
That's called a hit on the quarterback. Out of about eight
or nine of those, something gonna tear loose in there.
So that is what I'm saying. Sacks gonna happen, but
just this constant barrage of getting hit and he don't
(49:40):
have an opportunity to protect himself. That is what I
was saying last year. That is what I'm saying this year.
Our offensive line has to get in shape, get in rhythm,
and let's go our.
Speaker 6 (49:51):
Picks for the week.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
I won.
Speaker 6 (49:53):
You had the Cowboys about five.
Speaker 5 (49:57):
The closest person that actually one was me And I
only missed the final score by twenty six points. So close, Nate.
But you actually won. You actually did win. You were
only off by five. I was off by twenty six.
I was off by twenty eight, Kurt was off by
thirty four, Jesse was off by thirty seven, and Josh
(50:18):
was off by thirty.
Speaker 1 (50:19):
For the first time ever, you missed out.
Speaker 6 (50:21):
He did.
Speaker 5 (50:22):
The guy Londell Robinson more than sixty five and yep,
down the guys would win.
Speaker 6 (50:28):
They try a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (50:29):
He did, he did.
Speaker 6 (50:30):
He had one hundred and forty two and a touchdown.
Speaker 8 (50:32):
So when I was right, yeah I was wrong, was right?
I said they haven't.
Speaker 10 (50:37):
They should have won. They should an hour kick of
My hats off to you. When you have a kicker that.
Speaker 1 (50:44):
Prolongs the game and wins the game, that is the kick.
Speaker 6 (50:48):
Remember last week he was like, kicker is a kicker.
Now they can all make five yard No, but that
is my thing.
Speaker 10 (50:54):
When we play, we don't need you to go out
and kick for twenty five points. We need for you
to get us into overtime, are to close out, to
have art to win the game for us. The Ravens
have done it for many years.
Speaker 6 (51:07):
He did, all.
Speaker 1 (51:10):
Get to the stove. We got to go, man, he said, we.
Speaker 6 (51:11):
Got good stoves.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
You know what.
Speaker 5 (51:14):
We'll continue this tomorrow more. We'll recap the game. Good
scene you, Kurt, good scene you night. Thanks Jesse, Chris,
thanks for keep us on the air, Josh, thanks for
keeping it. Coming back tomorrow, Hanging with the Boys.
