Hanuman ist einer der beliebtesten Aspekte des Gottes in Indien. Hanuman, der Sohn des Windes, wird auch der Affengott genannt. Er gilt als eine Inkarnation von Shiva. Er ist ein großer Verehrer von Rama und Sita, Inkarnationen von Vishnu und Lakshmi.
Er symbolisiert Dasya Bhava, die Liebe des Gottgeweihten, des Dieners Gottes zu Gott als seinem Herrn. Als Affe repräsentiert Hanuman, dass jeder zu Gott kommen kann. Als Sohn des Windes ist er der Schutzherr des Pranayama.
