let's live unashamed together.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Hey everyone, it is just me today. I am coming
at you with one of those like short and sweet
little like I had an epiphany moment. So that's why
this episode isn't that long, but it is something that
God just like put on my heart and I wanted
to share with you all to encourage you. I just
(00:36):
recorded a podcast as a guest for another podcast that
will be coming out soon, so keep following me for details.
But like, I had this kind of moment where I
was like thinking about like callings and how like a
(00:57):
lot of times I think sometimes we over spiritualize, like
what I'm I called to do? Or like what am
like what what's next in my life? Or like where
is God taking me? What does this mean? And I
was thinking about soul and I was thinking about how
like when soul started, it was something that I I
(01:18):
started it because I really needed it in a season
of desperation and I didn't have it. And that's kind
of the aha moment that I had is like when
I was really struggling with my body image and with
disordered eating and overexercising, like I would have loved to
have had a group like Soul Fitness where it was
all women and I could be vulnerable and it didn't
(01:41):
matter like what I looked like at the gym, and
it didn't matter how many calories I burned, But what
mattered was that I was celebrating my body through movement.
And so that's something that I didn't have in a
moment of desperation, but that I desperately wanted and like
probably needed. And so I was thinking about this and
I was like, ah, like, your doesn't have to be
(02:01):
something that is like over spiritualized, Like you don't have
to be like it doesn't have it's not just a calling.
If it's like I'm called to start this business or
I'm called to like go on missions or I'm called
to like move here, Like it doesn't have to be
something as mega as that, Like it can be something
as like what did I need? As simple as like
(02:22):
what did I need when I was desperate, when I
was struggling, when I was in the deep end, And
what helped pull me out or what would have been
so like helpful and like fruitful in that season of
life to help me heal faster, or to help me
understand or believe this about myself. And I feel like
that's kind of what you're called to. Like God wrote
(02:45):
your story so specifically struggles included in desperate times included
so that like you could use that testimony and use
your story to like step into a new calling. And
so like whatever you are, maybe whatever, think back on
your life, like take a second to like really think
(03:06):
on what you've been through hard times included especially hard times,
and think about those moments when you were like so
desperate and what you really needed in that moment. Maybe
it was just a friend to like get you off
the couch when you were depressed and like take you
for coffee. So maybe your calling is as simple as
texting a friend right now and asking them to go
(03:29):
get coffee. Maybe it was like an environment for exercise
where you could feel accepted. So maybe like invite your
friends to the park and like do movement that you
love without your Apple watch telling you what to do.
Maybe it was like a moment of desperation where you
felt like you like didn't couldn't really hear God's voice.
(03:51):
So maybe like your calling is to like read a
devotional and listen to worship music and just like be still.
Like it doesn't have to be this mega huge like
God burns a bush kind of moment in order for
you to like wake up and step into what He
has for you. I feel like I could talk about
(04:14):
this all day, and I probably can, so if you have,
like if you're like wrestling with anything of like, I
don't know if this is where God is leading me
or if this is what I should do or if
this is what I should do. Like, one, you can
always DM me. I would love to talk through that
with you. I love conversations like that. But two, know
(04:35):
that like just by you wrestling means you're already convicted
towards a calling, So you can't really make a wrong
decision if the decision that you make you give to God,
like it can't it. He's gonna use whatever you decide
if you give it to him, So think about what
you didn't have when you needed it most and do
(04:57):
that for someone else, or for yourself or for the
Lord for all of it. So yeah, short and sweet,
like I promised, it was just on my heart and
I needed to hop on the mic and say it
before I forgot it. And yeah, I will post the
link to the podcast that I was just on. It's
(05:18):
called from Broken to Beautiful whenever it comes out, and
you'll hear like a little bit more of me, like
expanding on this topic and just like my story of
soul in general. But yeah, I just want y'all to
know that what you're called to matters, and even if
you feel like it's smaller than what someone else is
called to or then what someone else is doing, like
(05:40):
it's not. It's your calling. It's your lane for a reason.
So don't compare your journey as they say in The Bachelorette,
to someone else's. Instead, just like take that step of
obedience into what God is calling you to. All right, y'all,
I love you so much and I will talk to
you and next week. By
