Het optreden van Britse punk-rapduo Bob Vylan tijdens Glastonbury doet veel stof opwaaien. De zanger van het duo riep onder meer om de 'dood aan het Israëlische leger'. Ook de BBC krijgt de wind van voren, omdat ze dit hebben uitgezonden. "Je bent er niet voor om te bepalen wat wel en niet kan, dan word je scheidsrechter", stelt Marc Veeningen, hoofdredacteur Nieuws bij Talpa. "Je hebt verantwoordelijkheid voor wat je uitzendt, maar dit slaat wel heel erg door", vindt Wilma Haan, adjunct-hoofdredacteur NOS Nieuws. "De BBC niet om politieke redenen dingen gericht wel en niet doen. Je moet ervoor zorgen dat pluriforme uitingen mogelijk zijn", aldus Wim Voermans, hoogleraar Staats- en bestuursrecht.
