Sieger was altijd een gehoorzame burger – los van de somszorgvuldig uitgevoerde grappen die hij weleens uithaalde. Voor het stuk De Hulp verdiepte hij zich in de financiële crisis, voor SeksKlimaat in de klimaatcrisis, en het werd duidelijk: de bundeling van geld en macht is aan het winnen. Als burgers, besefte hij, moeten we daar een tegenkracht aan bieden. Zijn gehoorzaamheid – en zijn jongensdroom om beroemd te worden – maakte plaats voor iets anders: Sieger sloot zich aan bij Extinction Rebellion en werd een van de vele gezichten van een groeiende burgerlijke ongehoorzaamheid.
